Speaker 1 (00:00):
So the governor Greg Appittt this week has basically banned
CARE and also the Muslim Brotherhood from buying property in Texas.
I didn't know that they were specifically looking to buy
property here in Texas, but they're banned from doing so
because the governor has designated both CARE in the Muslim
Brotherhood as foreign terrorist organizations. Now they're not recognized last

(00:24):
time I checked by the federal government is terrorist organizations.
So has the governor overstepped his bounds? Jeff Attika joins
this Wounded Warrior project before we even get into what
CARE is all about in the Muslim Brotherhood. I don't
think any of us are trying to paint them as
being the kind of organizations we want to have here
in Texas. But from a strictly legal standpoint, what do
you make of the governor's move?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Yeah, good morning. So from a legal perspective, the governor
has some standing to do this because the Muslim Brotherhood
was designated by you know, in the court case US,
the Homeland Foundation case excuse me, two thousand and eight
here in Texas as an unindicted co conspirator providing propaganda
to a terrorist organization. So he does have legal standing

(01:10):
to do so if he desires to do so. And also,
the Muslim Brotherhood and CARE have been designated as terrorist
organizations by other countries around the world, to include Egypt,
Saudi Arabia, UAE, other countries. So they've come to that conclusion.
It's true that the United States government has not gone
that far. So we're kind of in a situation where

(01:31):
on the one hand, you have clearly, you know, radical
Islamic extremist groups like abs isis al Qaeda, which everybody concurs,
or terrorist organizations. On the other hand, of course, you
have the vast majority of Muslims that have nothing to
do with these organizations. And then somewhere you start getting
into the gray area, and that's where I would put CARE.

(01:52):
And of course, when CARE has called on certain things
that they're doing associated with promoting radical Islamic ideology, their
fallback position as well, you're Islamic phobia, et cetera, et cetera.
But so he does have legal standing, there's no question
about that.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Okay, Well, that's good to know. We've also got a
situation up in Dallas where there's been accusations that we
have several judges up there that are actually following sharia law.
The governor's trying to crack down on that as well.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Yeah, that's correct. I mean, that's part of the issue.
If you're a US citizen. Of course, you can spouse
any type of belief that you want to believe, But
the issue is always about when people immigrate to this country,
we expect them to adopt our Bill of Rights, and
the Bill of Rights is the antithesis to radical Islamic
extremist ideology. The hardcore of sharia law is the exact

(02:45):
opposite of what we hold dear as American values here
in this country. So we've seen this in other countries
around the world, where people come into Britain, for example,
or France that don't really want to assimilate. They reject
the code in France, they reject the Anglo Saxon traditions
in England, and so too. You have people that come

(03:05):
here and they actually reject our Bill of Rights and
they view that as abhorrent to their central core beliefs.
And that's where the rub is.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Well, and even more of a rub I think, is
that they seem to be rubbing off on American college students.
Look what's happened as far as support of Israel and
the Jewish people over the course of the last decade.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah, that's that's an issue. Of course. I have an
article coming out where I call it educate the un
educated or educate the educated and quotes. But that's largely
the part of what we see. You know, many times
where people were Jay gavera T shirt, who is clearly
a murderer and all sorts of issues. They don't know
who he is. So many of these college students, they

(03:47):
have no idea what Hamas is. They're simply out there,
you know, engaging in protests, et cetera, et cetera. And
they'll protest this and protest that. And when you question
them about why you're out here, you know, the organization
would it stands they don't know. And so it really
falls on the universities to educate our students about exactly
you know, what you're doing and think before you jump

(04:08):
on the water.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Well, they're being educated in our universities, but they're being
educated by the radicals. I'm beginning to think that we
should maybe take a look at several of our universities
and maybe does take them as terrorist organizations.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Well, as you know, the Trump administration is pushed back
on some of the Ivy League institutions for allowing you know,
these types of activities to occur, which many of them
targeting at targeted at Jewish students and other conservative organizations.
So yeah, if the schools won't take yourself regulate, obviously
there has to be someone that provides oversized So universities
are supposed to beacons of free speech, freedom of thinking,

(04:42):
et cetera, et cetera, which I'm all for, but you
can't cross the line into outright violence and hate an
obstruction of other students that want to express their ideas.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
You're right, sure are, Jeff, thank you for your time.
I appreciate it. Jeff add a Get Wounded Warrior Project
