This is huge Radio seven KATI RH Houston.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Live Everywhere with now the latest news, weather and traffic.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
It's more of what matters to you. From the John
Morris Services studios. It is a five am good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
As we get started here in Houston's morning News, I'm
Jimmy Barrett. Among our top stories this fur Jimmy Kimmel
out on an indefinite suspension, cash matel clashing with House
Democrats this time and coming up in five o eight
because a National Hamburger Day is not enough, it's National
Cheeseburger Day. First, let's check out the drives, my, consider

(00:40):
your morning breakfast.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Dude.

Speaker 5 (00:41):
What is going on, Jimmy Barrett, Let's do some north
side stuff. Nord Freeway southbounder Richie. That's a stall for now.
They're holding it to the side and it's also going
to affect that exit ramp if you're trying to get
over toward those truck stops.

Speaker 6 (00:54):
But it looks like.

Speaker 5 (00:55):
We're okay and they should hold it there and not
take a right line shortly east Tex southbound Aldan Bender.
What are they doing there? Some kind of police activity.
It's a little flashy lights and watch out for other stations.
The listeners just hitting their brakes for no reason. For
it's almost slinky time. I will check your bridges at
the ten break. I'm Skymike. It's your USA RV Resorts

(01:15):
dot Com traffic center.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
From r KTRH top tax Defenders, twenty four hour weather
center for today, mostly sunning forty percent shower chance this
afternoon with the high temperture right about ninety two. Terry
Smith will join us in about nine minutes with a
complete forecast. Right now, it is seventy four at your
official severe weather station. News Radio seven forty k TRH.
It's time down for the news. Here's Cliffsonders.

Speaker 7 (01:37):
Thank you, Jimmy five oh one on KTRHR top story
this hour.

Speaker 8 (01:41):
The Magga Gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who
murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.

Speaker 7 (01:48):
And that's the comment that got Jimmy Kimmel yanked from
his ABC late night show indefinitely. After pushback from a
pair of media companies, President Trump reacted on Truth's social
call good quote, great news for America. FCC Chairman Brendan
Carr said the move was long overdue.

Speaker 9 (02:06):
They went from being court gestures that would make fun
of everybody in power to being court clerics and enforcing
a very narrow political ideology.

Speaker 7 (02:14):
Carr with ktrhs Sean Hannity. Now, if only Kimmel followed
the lead of the legendary Johnny Carson.

Speaker 10 (02:21):
Tell me the last time that Jack Benny red Skelton
uh Benny comedian use his show to do serious issues.

Speaker 11 (02:30):
That's not what I'm there for.

Speaker 12 (02:32):
Can't they see that?

Speaker 7 (02:33):
That was Carson talking to sixty minutes back in nineteen
seventy nine five VOO two. Now Kimmel punished for his
anti Kirk rhetoric. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of the Squad not as.
A vote to censor her failed.

Speaker 13 (02:47):
The vote was two fourteen to two thirteen. Four Republicans
sided with all Democrats to reject this. Omar called Kirk reprehensible.
Nancy Maas wanted Omar censured and banished from committees.

Speaker 7 (03:00):
Chat Pergrim on Capitol Hill. Also on Capitol Hill, more
fireworks between Democrats and FBI Director Cash Pattel.

Speaker 14 (03:07):
I'm going to borrow your terminology and call both your
entire career in Congress disgrace to the American people.

Speaker 7 (03:14):
Pateel going after California Congressman Eric Swolwell during a hearing
at the House Oversight Committee. It's now five ZHO three
big win for the Trump administration and immigration judge orders
anti Israel protester Mahmud Khalil to be deported to either
Syria or Algeria. Khalil fair to fail to disclose his

(03:35):
internship with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, and
he also didn't disclose his ties to a Columbia University
anti Israel group. Now the left will tell you that
conservatives don't want any immigration. The fact of the matter
is they want legal immigration.

Speaker 15 (03:51):
Most of these people who come in legally go through
the process and eventually they come in, and ninety nine
percent of them are extremely good additions to the country.

Speaker 7 (04:00):
Sylvia Oconto, Junior with American Thinker, a legal immigrant himself,
says the fact is the immigration process protects American citizens
as well as those coming here legally. Meantime, the Democrat
Party continues to embrace socialism at an alarming rate.

Speaker 16 (04:17):
A two poll of likely Democrat voters finds three out
of four support socialist principles over capitalism. Political analyst Anthony
Russo says, the Dems are heading down a dangerous road.

Speaker 17 (04:27):
They want to believe in this perfect utopia where we
can be socialist and do what's been done in other
countries and completely failed. I think the Democrat Party has
a bigger problems. This is just the signal that might
show how out of touch they are with any form
of logic.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
And it's about to get worse.

Speaker 16 (04:42):
With radical socialist Zoron Mamdani now the favorite to be
the next New York City mayor. Corey Jolson News Radio
seven forty ktrh Aytime.

Speaker 7 (04:50):
The President officially designates Antifa as a terrorist group, writing
on social media that quote those funding Antifa should be
thoroughly investigated.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Five oh five now.

Speaker 7 (05:01):
The President continues to use his UK trip today talking
trade with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and he'll hold a
trade call with China's Jesun Ping tomorrow. Doll futures this
morning up three hundred and thirty four points. Dow closed
up two hundred and sixty yesterday, hitting a record high
after the FED finally cut interest rates, the first one
since Trump's return to office. It doesn't mean that Fed

(05:23):
scher Jerome Powell, though, is on board with the Trump agenda.

Speaker 18 (05:27):
Trump Book said it, and I think he thinks that
people are walkeed in that the growth has been installed
because there isn't enough cash circulating. His interest rates are
too high. Powell is looked at the data and seeing
more frankly what I've seen, which is at the risks
that we would get inflation. And so I think that's
where they debate.

Speaker 7 (05:43):
Richard Staring with the Heritage Foundation says that the debate
will likely continue until Powell leaves office at the end
of his term next year.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Five h six.

Speaker 7 (05:52):
After two years of waiting, Congress is finally ready to
vote on the Am Radio in Every Vehicle Act.

Speaker 19 (05:59):
It's been a two year push to try and silence
conservative am radio.

Speaker 20 (06:04):
While they would probably see it as a cost cutting measure,
it just feels like your nickel and diming people at
the cost of removing such a huge part of Americana.

Speaker 19 (06:14):
Curtisalka the Media Research Center says this shouldn't have taken
this along. And the thing is am radio is a
win for both.

Speaker 20 (06:22):
Sides, conservatives because the place where conservative talk radio is
democrat because of you know, alternative forms of media.

Speaker 19 (06:29):
The bill passed Committee and is set for a floor
vote in the future. Andre Barrard, News Radio seven forty
k t.

Speaker 7 (06:36):
R H and the Astros beat the Rangers and use
the brooms to sweep the series five to two. They
also moved back into sole possession of first place in
the Al West. They're a half game ahead of Seattle.
Guess who they host this weekend? The Mariners starting tomorrow night.
I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news, weather, and traffic station,
News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Be informed, be on time. Houston's Morning News continues.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
With Jimmy Arrett five oh seven our time here on
Houston's Morning News. All Right, we just had what was this,
I want to say, within the last month or two,
we had a National Hamburger Day. Now we have a
National Cheeseburger Day.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Art.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Shouldn't that all be covered under the one category? I mean,
it's all dependent on the hamburger?

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Right.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Why is the cheeseburger considered a separate entity versus the hamburger?
Or do we just like hamburger so much we want
a separate day for the cheeseburger. I mean, we don't
have separate days for hot dogs, do we? Is there
a separate day for is there like a National hot
dog Day and then a National Chili Dog Day and
a National Chili Cheese Dog Day. Because it's just a topic.

(07:47):
But anyway, as long as I brought it up, and
as long as it is, we might as well talk
about it, all right, Favorite cheese on your cheeseburger? Are
you a American fan? Are you a cheddared fan? Are
you a Swiss fan? Bree?

Speaker 21 (08:03):
I mean?

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Are you going to get exotic on that? They came
up with a list of some of the quote unquote
strangest burger toppings that people have had and somehow managed
to work. Maybe that would be a good question today.
Ingredient that you put on a hamburger that nobody thought
it would really taste good and you were amazed at
how great it tastes. It could be a topping, it

(08:24):
could be a condiment, whatever it is. Peanut butter comes
to mind. Hey, cheeseburgers and peanut butter. I've tried that.
That works. Blaze donut for a bun. Here's a combination
fenyl breed cheese, fig gem and bacon all together and
somehow it worked. Refied beans s guacamale in pica degaiyo

(08:46):
all together on the cheeseburger pineapple. See, I don't I
don't like pineapple on pizza, and I don't like pineapple
on something like a hamburger. Meat and pineapple. I just
don't see that going together. But anyway, what is the
thing you've tried on your cheeseburger that you know seemed
like a crazy thing to try, but it actually worked.

(09:07):
It actually tasted really good, either a topping or a condiment.
You go to the iHeartRadio up KTRH, you hit the
talkback button, you get up to thirty seconds. First name
where you're calling from. And that topping you put on
a cheeseburger that nobody thought would taste good and it did.
Five ten as we take a look at your drive,
holy walk em only, Yes, that's good on a burger sky.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
I was thinking I was crazy because my Eastside brothers
would probably put some cilantro on there too. So throw
some of that and say, yeah, I like the Pico degaio.
Let's hit your east Text. Let's see Houston. Trent starts
showing me the East Text Greens shop. We had some
little activity at Alding Bender No big woops, I'll pully thick.
And there's a lot of other stations listeners in the
left lane just vegging out. I don't know what they're

(09:47):
thinking about. They're just toodling along with their mouth open.
So watch out there.

Speaker 6 (09:52):
So far, we're twenty three minutes now from Humble, ind
We look good. Woodlands down.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
They moved some kind of little stinkery right before Ranking
rode up the way to Trek Ninjas have struck.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
That was a stall.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
Rank and over on the side and clear the board,
reset the jackpot.

Speaker 6 (10:06):
On the North Freeway, we look good.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
Hardy tail Rood's going June from Spring all the way
to the North Loop. We're not too ninety up yet,
looks good Grand Parkway to the West Loop and two
forty nine.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
Are they going to do that roadwork again today? If
they don't do it, then it'll.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Be forgotten freeway and I won't talk about it the
rest of the morning. If so, I'll have to keep
your right on top of that business there.

Speaker 22 (10:26):
Terry.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
Do you ever get in trouble at your science lab
at the Weather Channel, like maybe you forgot to wash
out the beakers, or you know, you borrow somebody's slide
rule and you forgot to put it back or you
let the lab rats out. Did you ever get in
trouble at your job? Because I got in trouble yesterday.
Guess what I did wrong?

Speaker 23 (10:42):
What did you do?

Speaker 5 (10:43):
The West Park Tollway sucked, Jimmy, You know who drives on.

Speaker 6 (10:46):
The West Park Tollway every morning?

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Eddie Martini, the grand Emperor of the Western Hemisphere of
iHeartRadio was on and you just looked at me.

Speaker 6 (10:55):
Skymike.

Speaker 24 (10:58):
Did you not tell Eddie we didn't sound ther stankery
or well, thank.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
You, Yeah, we didn't tell him yesterday. I'm the USA
RV Resorts dot Com traffic center.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
Best not let that happen again. From r ktr H.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Top tax defenders twenty four are whether senter Terry Smith
is here? Gabrielle has formed. There is a Gabrielle out there.
There is, but only the fish are going to see it, evidently.

Speaker 23 (11:18):
But only fish. Yeah, and that would be a good thing.

Speaker 24 (11:22):
You know, we were talking about what was tropical depression
number seven yesterday and then by the time I left,
all of a sudden, there's tropical storm Gabrielle. Gabrielle a
fairly weak tropical storm fifty mile an hour winds over
the open waters of the Atlantic. It's going to take

(11:42):
its time, but likely we'll become a hurricane sometime towards
the end of the weekend early next week. Stay away
from the Caribbean and the Gulf, and probably stay off
to the east side of Bermuda.

Speaker 23 (11:56):
So that would be all good if that is what happens.

Speaker 24 (11:58):
But we're going to watch another little wave coming off
the African coast too, that we're going to keep an
eye on. We might be checking the radar this afternoon, Jimmy, Again,
we had a little bit of wet weather yesterday. We've
got some more today. Thirty percent chance of thunderstorms developing
this afternoon.

Speaker 23 (12:17):
Still warm, load of.

Speaker 24 (12:18):
Mid nineties today and it looks like only a twenty
percent chance of thunderstorms Friday and Saturday, and then early
next week Sunday and Monday, about a forty percent chance
of rain.

Speaker 23 (12:28):
That would be good.

Speaker 24 (12:29):
I would like some rain around here, given that we've
had maybe like three days of measurable rainfall so far
this month.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Let's see here, what's the current temperature. It is seventy
four at your official severe weather station. News Radio seven
forty KRH It's.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New South Windows Solutions.
Now back to Jimmy Barrits and the Houston Morning News Team.

Speaker 6 (12:53):
All the info you need did take on the day.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
So the unflattering, some times threatening comments coming from the
far left continue to come after Charlie Kirk's murder. What
is different is the way that people are fighting back
in a way that they haven't fought back before. You
saw what happened with Jimmy Kimmel yesterday, his indefinite suspension

(13:17):
from his program. I don't know how brave that is.
You know, when you have a late night host who's
saying outrageous things on the air, it should be a
fairly easy thing to remove them. But it seems like
it's always been the case with most of these companies
that they don't really act unless there's a financial motive
for them to do it. In other words, the show

(13:39):
isn't doing well, it's not making much money. We should
be getting rid of it. Anyway, here's our excuse. I
don't know that we can say that about Jimmy Kimmel.
It's Jimmy Kimmel's removal. The first real opportunity for corporation
to do the right thing and to get rid of
somebody that really is embarrassing the company when you get
right down to it. Vice President jad Van gave it

(14:00):
an interesting interview yesterday as well to Jesse Waters about
some of these threats. We'll discuss that next.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
First, though you may surprised, as I am, that nobody
did something really stupid on the view.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
I haven't seen.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
I rarely get an opportunity to listen to the view,
so I can't honestly say that they haven't done anything
really stupid.

Speaker 6 (14:20):
I just expect the whoopy to say something cool.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
Art Joy Behart is usually known for seeing some stupid stuff.

Speaker 5 (14:26):
Yeah, Katie Freeway, Jimmy, let's hit westbound at Blaylock on
the outbound. Once again, it's a stall. He's over on
the side. We're just pointing at things, not hurting anything.
Of course, you have the roadwork. Don't talk about it
all the time, but it's there. Forty five.

Speaker 6 (14:39):
This is Katie Freeway outbound, not inbound. Forty five to
steud to Mint. And you've got those three little skinny
lanes and the text dot wall of death. And if
you want to do something every day. You know, they
say do something every day that scares you. Well, get
on the ramp from the North Freeway to the Katie Freeway.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
It's a suicide squeeze ramp. You better make it or not.
I'm in the USA RV Resorts dot Com Traffic.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Center KTRH Top tax Defenders, twenty four hour Weather Center
Mostly Sunday, forty percent shower chance this afternoon, with the
high temperature about ninety two Sunday ninety three. Tomorrow partly
cloudy ninety two on Saturday. Another chance of scattered afternoon
storms on Sunday. Current temperature seventy four at your official
severe weather station, News Radio seven forty KTRH. Time to

(15:22):
check out some more of our top stories here on
this Thursday morning.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
Here's Cleff, Thank you, Jimmy.

Speaker 7 (15:26):

Speaker 3 (15:48):
You are cheaper commute coming up every ten minutes on
the tens.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Well, I think we're seeing real evil. We continue to
see real legal The good news is that evil is
not lurking in the background right now, is out there
for everybody to see. Jesse Water is doing an interview
exclusive interview with Jade Vance. I was asked about the
threat level being posed by the progressive left and by
some anyway in the trans community, and the potential that

(16:16):
there were co conspirators with the Charlie Kirk shooting.

Speaker 25 (16:21):
Well, we don't know, Jesse, And that's why I've been
so proud of Cash and the way that he's handled
this investigation, because he's cast as wide a net as
humanly possible, and the FBI really is looking at everything.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
By the way, there's a lot of weird stuff out there.

Speaker 25 (16:34):
For example, the CEO of Discord or one of the
leaders of Discord said that there were no Discord chats
that involved this guy. Now we know that there were
Discord chats that involved this guy. So we need to
look at everything. We need to leave no stone unturned.
My own attitude to this and people will send me stuff, Jesse.
You know, from the deepest, darkest corners of the Internet.
Some of it sounds pretty crazy, but I'll send it

(16:56):
to Cash and I'll talk to my team because I
want us to leave no stone unturned. It's the only
way to honor Charlie is to get to the bottom
of exactly how this person was radicalized and who else
was involved in it.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Now, we could find.

Speaker 25 (17:09):
Out that this person was radicalized and it was terrible,
and there were a lot of very evil people in
his life, but they didn't have foreknowledge. We may find
out that there were many, many people who were involved
in helping this guy pull off the shooting. We just
have to get to the bottom of it. That's what
justice demands. That's what being a good friend to Charlie demands.

Speaker 26 (17:29):
The militant transgender movement is that a domestic terrorist threat?

Speaker 25 (17:35):
If you are encouraging people to commit acts of violence
against the United States government or against your fellow Americans,
absolutely you're involved in a terrorist movement. I don't know
enough about that particular organization, but what you increasingly see, Jesse,
is you see people in the trans community and other
members of the far left who are saying they are
so threatened by negative rhetoric that they must take arms

(17:57):
and attack people. If your movement is telling you to
commit acts of violence against people for speaking words that
you don't like, number one, you're evil and number two,
you are engaged in a terrorist movement. And that's part
of what we have to root out in the White House.
And this is very important, Jesse talk to a lot
of people about this. I've talked to, you know, Stephen Miller,

(18:17):
probably seven times in.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
The past two days.

Speaker 25 (18:20):
We are working very hard to ensure that the funding
networks for left wing violence, that the radicalization networks for
left wing violence. That if you encourage or fund your
fellow Americans or anybody else to commit acts of violence
because you disagree with political speech, you are going to
be treated like a terrorist organization and we're going to

(18:41):
go after you.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Yeah, and they should be treated as terrorists. Do you
behave like a terrorist? You should be treated like a terrorist.
Of course, as we've seen in the case of Luigi
and Angeoni, what he did to me was the terrorist Act,
but they dropped the terrorist charges against him. So you
can charge somebody that way, but that doesn't mean that
the justice system is going to go along with that. Five,

(19:03):
twenty six. Time to take a look at your money
as we check in with Jeff Fellinger. Good morning, and
good morning, Jimmy.

Speaker 27 (19:09):
The Federal Reserve announced the first intrast rate cut of
the year, a quarter percentage point reduction intended to prop
up the slowing job market. But after that anxious weight
for the Fed decision, investors didn't have much of a
reaction to it. Yesterday, the Dow row six tens percent,
but the Nasdaq fell a third of a percent, and
the S and P five hundred closed a tenth of

(19:30):
a percent lower. The stock market futures, though, suggests investors.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
Are in a by mood. After having a night to
think about this.

Speaker 27 (19:37):
S and P futures are up fifty four points, Nasdaq
futures or up two hundred and forty three, and the
Dow futures are up three hundred ten. The thirtieth anniversary
of a blockbuster movie is coming up, and it will
be celebrated with a new clothing collection. Toy Story hit
theaters in November of nineteen ninety five. Disney and Pixar
teamed up with Levi's new jackets, t shirts and denimite

(20:00):
inspired by characters like Woody and Buzz late year will
be in the stores October second. I'm Jeff Bellinger, Bloomberg
Business on News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 4 (20:12):

Speaker 2 (20:28):
It is five thirty here on Houston's Borning News. I'm
Jimmy Barrett. Among our top stories, this fur Trump gets
the royal treatment in the UK, the Fed cuts interest
rates well by a little anyway, and coming up in
five thirty eight, sixteen Southern specialties that most Americans have
never tasted. Details in the minutes ahead. You're in Houston's
Morning News. First, we're checking out with skymcood. Seemed to

(20:51):
be a little bit bored. It's not a lot to
do this morning so far.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
We did.

Speaker 5 (20:55):
The closest thing we had to a real problem was
the Katie three way blaylock.

Speaker 6 (21:00):
That was an outbound stall that's gone. It's out of there.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
Katie Freeway ripped it along now twenty five minutes from
Grand Parkway to the President's heads Southwest Freeway. Are they
going to get real this weekend? At the Brazzis River.
We'll keep an eye on that. That's outbound lane shift
inbound from Brazzis River to downtown.

Speaker 6 (21:16):
That's easy, thirty minutes here to eighty eight.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Whoa, Steven F.

Speaker 21 (21:19):
Boston.

Speaker 6 (21:19):
What's where you point that?

Speaker 5 (21:20):
We're looking good now from Manville twenty two minutes up
into downtown.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
Rest of your freeways rock.

Speaker 5 (21:26):
When something real happens, I'll get serious and you'll know
about it first. I'm in the Generator Supercenter dot Com

News Radio seven forty k TRH. It's time now for
the news. Here's cliffsunders Hey you.

Speaker 7 (21:52):
Jimmy five thirty one on KGRH. Our top story.

Speaker 29 (21:55):
This inbound of kinship and identity between America and the
United Kingdom is listen eternal. It's irreplaceable and unbreakable.

Speaker 7 (22:04):
President Trump continuing his visit to the UK, speaking at
a special dinner with King Charles the Third last night.
Its focus today is on trade during a meeting with
Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Dow futures are up three hundred
and twenty six points right now after hitting a record
high yesterday. This was after the Federal Reserve cut interest
rates by a quarter point, the first cut of the year.

(22:26):
But that does not mean Chairman Jerome Powell is on
board with Trump's economic policies.

Speaker 30 (22:32):
While the unemployment rate remains low, it has edged up,
job gains have slowed, and downside risks to employment have risen.

Speaker 7 (22:39):
Powell's term ends next year. It's now five point thirty two.

Speaker 31 (22:42):
Fox News has severed bow ties with Tucker Carlson. After
all these years, they are parting ways, which means he
was fired. I mean, that's really what parting weighs made.

Speaker 7 (22:56):
That was Jimmy Kimmel celebrating Tucker Carlson's firing a couple
of years ago.

Speaker 4 (23:00):

The solution isn't to coddle gen Z workers so they
don't feel stressed.

Speaker 36 (25:55):
Instead of trying to create environments where gen Z does
not have stress, I believe we need to power gen
Z with tools to help them manage the stress that
they're feeling.

Speaker 35 (26:03):
Workplace expert Joshua Evans says coddling gen Z is a

Ferry latest on your way to work.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
This is Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett, thirty.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Seven at time here in Houston's Morning News. All right,
I've got a lot of food topics this morning for
some reason. Oh question of the day. Before we get
to this, one question of the day, reminder, it's National
Cheeseburger Day. So I'm looking for the most unusual thing
that you've ever put on a cheeseburger that you know
people look at you like, what the hell are you doing?

(27:38):
And it turned out it was really really good. It
was delicious. I go to the iHeart radio app KTRH,
hit the talkback button, Get up to thirty seconds. First name,
It won't take it thirty First name where you're calling from,
And the most unusual thing you've ever put on a
cheeseburger that tasted really really good? All right now, this
time around, I want to talk to you about Southern

(27:59):
dishes that most Americans have never had or never tried.
It's not that they couldn't have it, they just, for
whatever reason, they wouldn't try it because they're afraid of it.
Here's the list. The star with this one fried chicken gizzards.
That's something my mom would have eaten, but that's not

(28:19):
something I would eat. Chicken gizzards are considered a delicacy
among some people anyway, deep fried until tender on the inside,
crispy on the outside, often served with a savory dipping sauce,
boiled peanuts. That's a very Southern thing. And I lived
in Virginia for the better far twenty years and boiled
peanuts are really big in Virginia. It's a whole different

(28:41):
thing though. It's a whole different consistency than the roasted
peanuts are I prefer the roasted peanuts of that. Pickled
pigs feet, I mean they're sitting in a jar. I've
tried pickled boloney. It's pretty good, but I can't get
past what it is. It's the foot of the pig

(29:03):
head cheese. I think there's another name for it, spelled
s o U s e, but I'm not sure how
you pronounce it. Is it sous or sieus or I'm
not sure anyway. It is a jelly loaf made from
boiled down meat from a pig's head and other parts. Yeah,
what other parts? That's my question. Freedo corn salad, red

(29:25):
eye gravy. Red eye gravy is made with coffee and
pan drippings, country fried ham and black coffee. It's kind
of thin and salty. It's considered, you know, like a
kind of a bitter gravy. Pineapple cast roll. Here's a
big one from Virginia, North Carolina, Brunswick stew. A lot
of people have never tried that liver mush. It's a

(29:47):
North Carolina treat similar to liver pudding. Isn't liver kind
of like a pudding to begin with, It's kind of
a consistency. Slug burgers. I've heard of those originated in
Northeast Mississippi during hard times, where they took a mixture
of pork liver, pig head parts, and cornmeal, fried and

(30:08):
served on a sandwich. Doesn't that sound delicious? By forty
times for traffic and weather together.

Speaker 5 (30:14):
I've had pickle picks feet. It's good, really, Oh yeah,
it's actually is. And you're thinking of hoghead cheese. Hoghead
I've eaten?

Speaker 4 (30:20):
Are they are?

Speaker 37 (30:20):
They?

Speaker 4 (30:21):
Are they chili? Pigs feet?

Speaker 21 (30:22):
Chili?

Speaker 6 (30:22):
Are they?

Speaker 21 (30:23):
What?

Speaker 4 (30:23):
Chili? And they got the skin on kind? And it's
got the skin on it. It's it's it's very pickled tasting.

Speaker 6 (30:29):
It's actually really good hoghead cheese. What you never want.

Speaker 5 (30:34):
My grandma got excited one time because they around the
barn and tarking than they found poke salad.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
It's a real thing. And I don't know they do
they do that Louisiana. I didn't think we did that.
Oh good lord, it's it's spinach. It's more nasty spinach stuff.

Speaker 5 (30:49):
When you're at pick spinach. Yeah, but I don't poke salads.
All right, let's do what do we just do here?

Speaker 23 (32:37):

our better chances of rain really hold off until Sunday

Five fifties our time here on Houston's Morning News. So,
interest rates, we had a twenty five basis points cut,
that's one quarter of a percent a cut in the
interest rate yesterday, and you know the market was expecting it.
There's no big surprise there. The question is is that
enough or is it at least enough for now or
should it have been more. We'll talk about that with

(33:49):
Richard Stern. He's director of Economic and budget policy at
the Heritage Foundation. He's coming up next. But first we've

Speaker 2 (35:23):
Well, but it's a little less tight this morning. The
bad Lord interest rates yesterday by twenty five basis points.
That's one quarter of one percent. Richard Stern joins US
director of Economy and Budget Policy at the Heritage Foundation.
I guess the obvious question is, Richard, did they do enough?

Speaker 4 (35:39):
Well, thank you for.

Speaker 38 (35:40):
Having me on this morning. Look, I think they probably did,
because whenever the Fed cuts rates, you want to be cautious.
You want them to make sure that the immediate response
is more investment, more growth, and not more inflation. So
you know, the said might end up cutting a lot more,
but they'll do it piece by piece and look at
the data as they go.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
All Right, from a practical standpoint, what does cutting twenty
five bases points mean? What does that open up for people?
That does It's not existing right now in the economy.

Speaker 38 (36:11):
Well, we already had a lot of banks announce that
they're going to bring mortgage rates down, and of course
that means car loan rates, small business loan rates, and
so it means that if you're trying to buy a home,
start a family, get a car, go to school, and
really for all of the employers out there, if you're
looking to expand your operations, expand your hiring, it's now cheaper,

(36:33):
it's now easier to get your hands on the financing
that can make that all possible. And of course for
many people you're not directly looking for those loans, but
you have to keep in mind that your employer might,
or a potential employer might, or even just a store
you'll shop at, and all of that helps to bring
down prices and expand opportunity.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Okay, And from a practical standpoint for the government, I
think one of the reasons why President from want it
interest rates down is that has a huge impact on
the national debt.

Speaker 38 (37:05):
Oh absolutely, But you know, I will say this though,
even though it can look good in the sense that
the federal government can bring its interest costs down, if
that's the only reason you want interest rates cuts, then
it ends up being a wealth transfer through inflation from
the American public to the federal treasury. So it can

(37:26):
be a good byproduct for the national debt. But I'm
not in favor of lowering interest rates just to make
the federal debt easier for the federal government to pay for,
because it ultimately comes out of your want.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
We're talking to Richard stern Ridges Stourners with the Heritage Foundation.
He's their director of Economic and Budget Policy. Richard, I'm
kind of wondering as well, how many more interest rate
cuts were likely to see as the year goes on.
It was kind of a mixed message coming out of
the FAID. You have nineteen members of the Board of
Governors and they're all kind of saying something very different
about how many more interest rate cuts they expect to have.

Speaker 38 (38:01):
Exactly. But you know, I think what it tells you
is how little confidence there is in exactly where the
data points that. There's a lot of questions among the
board members, certainly among CEOs of major companies, and you know,
economists in the field about exactly what's going on in
the economy, how strong it is, how weak is Powell

(38:22):
went on for forty some odd minutes and gave a
lot of mixed messages. So what I would say is
I would be surprised if they ultimately cup rates by
more than a full point over the next year or so.
But they might go, you know, another quarter point, they
might go half a point something over that nature. But

(38:42):
really I think at the end of the day, what
they're going to look at is what's the immediate response
over the next couple of months. Do we get more hiring,
do we get more businesses spending money to break ground
and expand their operations, or do prices continue rising. If
you get more investment, gonna keep getting right. So if
you gets inflation, they won't fair enough.

Speaker 2 (39:03):

Policy at the Heritage Foundation. It is five fifty six.

that mega Republicans don't want any immigration at all. The
truth is they want legal immigration.

You end up creating problems like fake documentations and that

price increases on those that we've seen in a long time.
I'm seeing some prices go up as much as five
thousand dollars.

Speaker 7 (46:00):
H car pro Jerry Reynold says the best way you
can save money on your new car trading your old

Speaker 2 (46:30):
So evidently a National Hamburger Day is not enough. We
need a National Cheeseburger Day. That's what today is because
obviously a cheeseburger is completely different than a hamburger. Well,
the topping is what makes it a cheeseburger. Right then,
I started thinking to myself, you know, I've seen people
do all kinds of things. There's a there's a burger

(46:51):
that I like to get and it's called what is it.
It's called the door Stopper. It's a place called three
bs in, you know, just south of the Woodlands, and
it's it's a little hold of all places. It's kind
of like it's it's kind of like almost like a
dive bar. But they have burgers there and the in
the it's they're fantastic. In this doorstopper has it's got

(47:14):
like guacamole, onion, it's got I should have on cheese obviously,
it has bacon. I mean, it just it has a
fried egg. I mean, it's just it's just all this
stuff and it's it's just it's just amazing medium rare.

Speaker 4 (47:37):
Please.

Speaker 2 (47:38):
So got to be thinking, well, maybe we'll ask this.
This will be a fun We didn't do this on
National Hamburger Day. We can do this today. Strangest thing
that you've tried, I mean none, none of those things
are really strange that I just mentioned, But the strangest
thing you ever tried on a cheeseburger that you know,
you weren't even sure if you're going to be able
to eat the cheeseburger, but it turned out it was delicious.

Speaker 6 (48:00):
Well, my favorite cheese is Monster cheese.

Speaker 28 (48:04):
He is a good, extra.

Speaker 6 (48:05):
Good flavor, not too overpower rates unless you're doing something
like a plastic cheese burger, bacon, Hall of pen Yo.

Speaker 22 (48:13):
Good Old American or water Burger's.

Speaker 2 (48:15):
Dollars want cheddar one of the weirdest things that works
I've ever.

Speaker 12 (48:20):
Had with undeployment in Australia.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
They don't do tomatoes.

Speaker 44 (48:23):
They do red sugar beans.

Speaker 6 (48:25):
Very weird, but it works.

Speaker 2 (48:27):
Sugar beets, red sugar beets, Okay, never tried that anybody else.

Speaker 12 (48:32):
Hey, guys, good morning.

Speaker 45 (48:33):
It's KUWAITI Jean calling from Kuwait.

Speaker 21 (48:36):
Hey.

Speaker 45 (48:36):
We were in Dubai one time and I had a
cheeseburger with two slices of pizza on it. Absolutely fabulous.
You guys have a great day. Thanks for being on iHeartRadio.
I appreciate it.

Speaker 21 (48:47):
Bye bye.

Speaker 12 (48:48):
Hey Jimmy Visus Robert from Leak City. He Yeah. The
weirdest thing on a hamburger that I thought was weird
and yucky was a fried egg until I tried it.
Holy smokes, put a fright egg in that hamburger.

Speaker 1 (49:04):
Delicious, Jason from Spring.

Speaker 46 (49:06):
Craziest thing on a cheeseburger When I lived in Australia,
I got a cheeseburger and it had beatroot on it,
and I asked the guy what is this purple thing?
And he goes, it's beatroot mite. And at first I
was like, this guy was nuts. I ate the burger.

Speaker 4 (49:23):
He wasn't nuts.

Speaker 46 (49:24):
I know it sounds weird and disgusting, but try beats
on a cheeseburger one time.

Speaker 4 (49:29):
Believe it or not, you will like it.

Speaker 21 (49:31):
Hey, guys, Andrew from Spring.

Speaker 47 (49:34):
I grew up in New Orleans and I've lived here
for the last thirty plus years and I have never
tried anything on that list. I will say my mom
and dad used to love hogs cheese. They will eat
that stuff like it's going out of style. I don't
know how they do it. Y'all have a good morning.

Speaker 4 (49:49):
Okay, the beat thing, the beat thing? Two?

Speaker 2 (49:51):
What is the likelihood we've had two people who've been
to Australian had a burger with.

Speaker 4 (49:56):
A beat on it? Beat not beat beat crazy?

Speaker 2 (50:00):
All Right, if you have something strange that you've tried
on a burger that you thought it was going to
be really strange and you didn't know if it would work,
but it really worked well, tell us about iHeart radio
app KTRH. Hit the talkback button, you get up a
thirty seconds. First name where you're calling from. The strangest

Oh mercy. Our weathers kind of basic. I would say
we haven't had much rain at all so far this month,
and there's very little rain the next couple of days.
But hey, we may get a better chance of some
wet weather and maybe the temperatures will cool down a
couple of degrees early next week.

I got my fingers crossed.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
Three now here In Houston's Warning. News you've probably heard.
That while you have, heard you've seen for yourself how
we're finally enforcing immigration. Laws of, course that Makes trump
hitler and that Makes ice The. Gestapo but we're not
doing anything that we didn't routinely used to, do including
during the Old bob. Administration and that's kind of the

(54:50):
subject of the piece That Sylvia Canto junior wrote For American.
Thinker so the only common DENOMINATOR i see in this
story Is Donald Try, sylvia the only reason why they
hate what's going on is because Of Donald.

Speaker 21 (55:03):
Trump that's exactly. Right and thank you for the. Invitation,
guys it's always to chat with. You but that's.

Speaker 39 (55:10):
It this is Really trumps arrangement syndrome or another symptom
of it or example of.

Speaker 21 (55:15):
It but the fact is that we've always had.

Speaker 39 (55:17):
Immigration laws and we've always enforced. THEM i, mean that's
what every country. Does it's not really a radical. IDEA i,
mean the next time you take a trip to any other,
country look at the tourist visa or document that you
get when you go to that, country and you read
and fine print that you know basically you're there as
a guest and you got to respect the laws of that.

(55:37):
Country so it's very hysterical to see the reaction to
the fact that we're finally enforcing immigration.

Speaker 21 (55:46):
LAWS i, mean it's really. Hysterical.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
Guys, well you know this is this is not any
different than what's going on across the rest of the
world right. Now that The United kingdoms stopped enforcing their immigration,
laws many Other european countries did the same, thing and
they started to see in their, population and maybe a
little bit late then later than what we're having here
in The United, states but they're having their citizens now
who are standing up and protesting and demanding that their

(56:11):
borders become more.

Speaker 21 (56:12):
Secure, well that's. Right it's not really a debate about.

Speaker 39 (56:16):
IMMIGRATION i think everybody understands that immigration can be a
good thing if it's done properly and orderly or. Legally
the issue is illegal, immigration which is, chaotic particularly what
we saw in the last three or four.

Speaker 21 (56:30):
Years and that's really the.

Speaker 39 (56:31):
Problem and that's why the reason many of these tactics
are being used right now is because you have to
clean up a mess that you. Inherited you, know you
have lots of people in the. Country we don't know
who they, are and you have to clean it. Up
you cannot have a country without. Borders you cannot have
a country without immigration. Laws so really it's the issue

(56:54):
is illegal immigration that. Immigration immigration is totally, different AND i,
MEAN i think people would.

Speaker 21 (57:00):
AGREE i happen to be a product of legal.

Speaker 39 (57:03):
IMMIGRATION i came here with my parents WHEN i was
a kid many years, ago and you, know we came here,
legally and we have enjoyed everything this great country can
do for.

Speaker 21 (57:13):
People but you have to do it, legally and there
is a way to do it.

Speaker 39 (57:16):
LEGALLY i, mean millions have done it and they should
keep doing.

Speaker 2 (57:20):
It, Yeah, well the problem is trying to convince the
idiots on the far left that don't believe in borders
of any kind and don't believe a.

Speaker 4 (57:26):
Gun they did.

Speaker 21 (57:27):
It they did it one.

Speaker 39 (57:29):
Time that's a funny thing about these people is that
if you go, back for, example to the Last state
of The union address That President clinton, gave he sounded
Like Donald trump when.

Speaker 21 (57:40):
It came to illegal.

Speaker 39 (57:41):
Immigration President obama deported three million. People so at one
time it was okay to do. It now That trump
is doing, well you, know it's because Of. Trump and
it's really sad because the issue is Not. Trump the issue,
is you, know immigration and observing federal.

Speaker 21 (57:58):
Law there's another problem.

Speaker 39 (57:59):
Too If i'm made just bad this And california has
decided that they don't have to respect federal, law these sanctuary,
cities and that's a.

Speaker 21 (58:09):
Violation of federal. Law they cannot get away with.

Speaker 39 (58:12):
THAT i, mean if you had a situation where every
city or every state decided what federal law.

Speaker 21 (58:18):
They were going to, respect, yeah well you would have
chaos in the.

Speaker 2 (58:21):
Country, well and look at how many judges we have

of women agreed that a girl's night out is vital to,

eighty sixty two percent, OF women i, should say say
they'd even choose a girl's night out over a romantic
dinner with, their partner mainly for. THE conversation i think

(01:26:00):
that's the key, to it, right there. The conversation one
big DIFFERENCE that i have noticed in my life between
women and men is women's ability to open up and
to share things that are going on in. Their life
they like talking, about it they like getting it, out
there they like bouncing it up against, the wall and

(01:26:24):
most men don't particularly care for that aspect of. The
conversation we're kind of. Detail oriented THAT'S why i prefer
communicating with my wife, via text because she texts JUST like.
I do she just gets right to the point and
there's no story involved in and she just gives me. The,
information guys you kind of have to give them the
information first before they want to listen to, the story

(01:26:45):
so they know if it's worth listening to the story when.
You're talking when ladies are talking to, other ladies they
can just go ahead and tell. The story they will

Seven twenty three hour time Here On Houston's. Morning News,
all right crime is out of control in, blue cities
whether that blue city is in a blue state or
it's in a. Red state and of course what the
left likes to tell, you, is, well yeah this Is
a republican. Led, state yeah but it's Not a republican.
Led city major cities are a. Major problem and our

(01:32:02):
next guest wrote a column In town hall where he
talks about dealing. With it his Name is, Kurt, schlector
kurt welcome to. Our show this basically looks like a
piece of just say no, to crime and we all
have to be willing to stand up and.

Speaker 34 (01:32:15):
Say, that, well look it's, Not, hard okay it's really.
Quite simple when people do, bad things you put them.
In jail and you don't just put them in jail
when they've committed their. Fourteenth crime you put them in
jail when they commit their. First crime and you start
with A, little again none of this. Is new i'm

(01:32:37):
not some, criminology genius. All RIGHT all i do is look.
At history and it's not history that goes that. Part
back Look At new york in the seventies. And, eighties
okay it was a taxi driver hellscape, of death wish,
of violence rape and looting and pillaging. And murder And
Then rudy giuliani came in and started at. The bottom

(01:32:57):
if you, commit vandalism we're going to. Arrest to if
you jump over a fair turn style at, the subway
we're going to. Arrest you if you hassle people aggressively
for money on, the street we're going To aggress we're
going to. Arrest you and that started the process where
we took back public spaces and made them say for.

(01:33:21):
Normal people remember it's not. Just, chrime okay it's not.
Just crime it's, allowing, degenerates, perverts hobos, junkie, scumbags losers,
petty criminals, major criminals and gang members to dominate public
spaces so that people are scared to walk around. Their,
city well we can't.

Speaker 2 (01:33:43):
Allow, That Certainly rudy giuliani proved It In, new york
Right And donald trumpin's proving it Now, in WASHINGTON.

Speaker 4 (01:33:48):
D c and soon will be proving It, In.

Speaker 2 (01:33:50):
Memphis tennessee but at the end of, the day if
they Keep electing democrats to be their mayors and their
city council members and worrish yet their judges where the, Big,
Problem lise we're never going to solve this problem as
long as the judges are letting these.

Speaker 4 (01:34:03):
People, loose well remember it's.

Speaker 1 (01:34:05):
Not there.

Speaker 34 (01:34:06):
It's weird, you know like ten percent of people come
out to vote for, municipal elections but those are among.
The biggest and this is WHAT the stros, guys saw
the ability to leverage a little money on because you
go in and. You mobilize you need to only mobilize
very few voters because normal voters don't go in and

(01:34:27):
don't take the time to vote.

Speaker 4 (01:34:29):
For these DA's mayors.

Speaker 12 (01:34:31):
And judges but.

Speaker 21 (01:34:33):
We should.

Speaker 34 (01:34:35):
Crime, is look when we have, weak administrations it's, because we,
the citizens have. Been weak it is. A, choice okay
even in red states when you have a, blue city
the blue city residents have chosen, the, Chaos right but
we can make a, different choice and.

Speaker 2 (01:34:54):
We should and that's that's, the, job right convincing people
that this is important enough that they have to get
out and vot and they have to know who the
good guys are and who the bad guys are before
they cast.

Speaker 4 (01:35:04):
The, ballot.

Speaker 34 (01:35:06):
Absolutely and it's not that hard. To, tell okay you
know we did in my former, YOU know i split
my Time Between Houston. Los angeles it makes. Me Schizophrenic
In los angeles we had we had a terrible schitzo,
are terrible flat OUT communist da who didn't. Charge anything

(01:35:26):
Even In los angeles we said hell no and. Punted him.
He's gone now we have somebody. In, there look He's
not Attila, the han he's not, you Know the avenger of,
all wrongs but he's a lot better and he'll actually
charge criminals with crimes and. Prosecute them there is no
reason a Place, like houston, for instance has to. Tolerate

(01:35:49):
criminals but, you know let's, face it there is a red.
State problem red states, get soft and they get Soft
because republicans in red states aren't used to having. Any
competition anybody who wants to get anywhere in statewide politics
has to come in and Be. A republican so you

(01:36:11):
get a lot of people who Should be democrats In The,
republican party and that's why you end Up with John corn.
Ye exactly you need to, get Hard, like florida which
just set a record for executing criminals.

Speaker 4 (01:36:22):
