Speaker 8 (01:52):
One of the biggest reasons for this is it's hard
to find officers who want to do it.
Speaker 9 (01:56):
Most officers sign up because they want all the excitement
on the street. Staying in a school all day isn't
quite the excitement most people are looking for.
Speaker 8 (02:04):
Former school resource officer and police chief Catherine Torres says
training resource officers also takes time.
Speaker 9 (02:10):
Sometimes a year and a half just to get a
fresh rookie, and you really don't want rookies in school.

Robert F. Kennedy Junior blamed psychiatric drugs.
Speaker 11 (03:15):
One of the culprits we need to examine is whether
the fact that we are the most over medicated nation

One of them legalizes short barrel rifles, removing them from
(03:51):

Yeah, that's how it sounded on our TIV partner channel
to Hurricane Katrina making landfall on this day in two
thousand and five and estimated eighteen hundred and thirty three
people died in the flooding that followed. Of course, the
Astrodome housed many evacuees from New Orleans back then, and
Houston was hit with a post Katrina crime wave. Retired

That said, the left is now trying to rewrite history,

Of course, it was also a less than a month

in the morning, Weather and Tramma.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
This is Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett. It is
five oh seven. It's Chris crocking for Jimmy Barrett. Let
me tell you I'm looking at it's been digesting this.
How do I boil everything down with the Minneapolis shooting
and where it matters and how it matters to us.
Let me tell you first, his everybody, everybody said yes
to that trans terrorist in Minneapolis. His parents said yes
(07:31):
to whatever he wanted. His governor said yes, made it
a sanctuary trans state. His lieutenant governor said it and
just absolutely bathed in it was she wore her transgender
shirt with the knife on it that said protect trans kids.
Speaker 18 (07:45):
Here's what she said, because let's be clear, this is
life affirming and life saving healthcare.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
First of all, it is not Chase Strange ol, the
plaintiff in the lawsuit to stop the State of Tennessee
from their chemical castration and stuff that they were doing
the kids and the drugs. Chase Strangel, the lawyer on
behalf of the trans kids and their parents, when asked
directly by the US Supreme Court, do you have any
evidence that it causes suicidality more if they don't get
(08:16):
the trans care, and he said no.
Speaker 18 (08:21):
When our children tell us who they are, it is
our job as grown ups to listen and to believe them.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
Yes, when children tell us that they are something else
that they are not, they are in charge. They are leading.
We are not. We are following. The child is their
own god with little g They are the play and
the potter. They are in charge, not us. These parents
did everything that he wanted by all accounts, and where
(08:51):
did it get them? It got them where we're at today.
So everybody said yes and no one said no to
this young man. If you want to in. You can
do that by going and hit the microphone button on
your iHeartRadio app and just go to town. We love
playing yours. I love you hearing you and playing your stuff.
Another thing your calls, et cetera. But another thing that
really gets me on this is who is protecting our children.
(09:15):
Nobody with a firearms in that church to return fire
now one person. They did a great job, very admiable,
not tacking to people, but we need to be armed.
We're gonna hit this a little bit later this hour
with a special guest. I cannot wait to get into
this with you. But we need more teachers and more
faculty armed period. Hands down and coming up at five
poin fifty two, we'll talk to former school resource officer
(09:37):
police chief about the majority of Texas school district are
not in compliance with armed security acquirement. It's five to ten.
Time to check traffic and to get it. Here's Gary Mack.
Speaker 7 (09:49):
Thank you, sir.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
An accident in August six Cities solip It was southbound
at it ten. The beast has cleared. Looks like we're
back at posted speeds.
Speaker 7 (09:56):
Not the case.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
Heading back to sixty ninety Southwest Freeway or fan at
roadwork should be wrapping up soon at two eighty eight,
delays up to five to ten minutes. I'm up here
in the mezzanine, but from my vantage, looks like two
left ones are coned off, and we'll look at drive
times coming up. I'm Gary Mack into the USA RB
Resorts dot Com traffic center.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
The cheap seats over here, but the views all not
too bad. Let's go to the k trias tough text
Defenders twenty four our Weather Center, Weather Channel Media, Just
Jeff Mauer.
Speaker 19 (10:25):
Yeah, good morning, Chris.
Speaker 20 (10:26):
Our chance rain will be increasing as we head into
the Labor Day weekend. Partly cloudy starting and saw this
morning that a few isolated afternoon storms as we climb
to ninety four. That heat index may hit one oh
two though, and then rain will increase times so at
heavy times now to seventy nine for a low as
far as Saturday and Sunday, scattered showers and thunderstorms each day,
with some more heavy rangle possibility as highest top out
in the load nineties and for Labor Day, not much
(10:46):
of a change in the weather pattern of mix of
clouds and sun with scattered thunderstorms, slightly cooler on Monday,
as the afternoon high temperature eventually climbs to eighty nine degrees.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
Eighty degrees at your official severe weather station. News Radio
seven forty kr H.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
It's Uston's Morning News, brought to you byden New South
Windows Solutions. Now back to Jimmy Barrett's and the Houston
Morning News team all the info you need did take
on the day.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
It's five point seventeen in news Radio seven forty k
TRH Chris crock and for Jimmy Barrett.
Speaker 17 (11:15):
More than anything, the shooter wanted to kill children, defenseless children.
The shooter was obsessed with the idea of killing children.
The shooter saw the attack as a way to target
our most vulnerable among us while they were out their
(11:37):
most vulnerable at school and at church.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
The US Attorney for Minnesota, in his press conference in
tandem with the police chief in Minneapolis, here's what you
need to know. You need to know what these terrorists,
these transgender terrorists are thinking in this case, just like
the transgender terrorists in Nashville that are And by the way,
this is absolutely demonic, There's no question about it. One
(12:01):
of the school one of his former school mates back
in elementary schools said it was demonished. She said he
was twisted and bizarre. Back then, the cops are called
twice to the house in matters that appeared to before him.
According to NBC News, that pop last night when I
was getting ready for this morning show. But here's what
you need to know. This is what they're thinking when
they're targeting your child and my child's school quote. I'm
feeling good about annunciation. It seems like a good combo
(12:22):
of an easy attack form and devastating tragedy. And I
want to do more research. I have concerns about finding
a large enough group. I want to avoid any parents,
but pre and post school drop off, I think attacking
a large group of kids coming in from recesses my
best plan. From there, I can go inside and kill
for going as long, for going, for as long as
I can. Trapped in those pews, these children will be
(12:43):
trapped into pews. They'll be easy targets, waiting ducks attending
church supper. He attended church several times to check this
out and scope it out the school schedule. I want
you to think about this for your kid's place, and
when you think of hardening and tactics the school schedule
is publicly posted online. He wrote, Oh, August twenty seventh,
that's an all school mass. Parents will probably not be there.
(13:04):
The church office opens at eight and they will be
employees in there. Now listen to this too about why
we need our faculty armed at our school district because
you got and we're gonna get into this at five
point fifty two with the former resource officer and the
police chief on how the majority of school districts are
not in compliance with armed security. These schools are saying
(13:25):
they can't afford to be in compliance. It's too much.
You are dang wrong. Get people trained to have a gun.
You don't have to hire people, Just get good staff members.
Could be a janitor, a teacher, an administrative I don't care.
Get them armed. That's not expensive. The Crime Prevention Research
Center reports this, what's this? Ninety seven point eight percent
(13:48):
of mass shootings that occurred over sixty eight year period,
we're carried out in gun free zones. Speaking of that,
the terrorist wrote the trans Terrorists Road, I recently heard
a rumor that James Holmes, the Auroa theater shooter, may
have chosen venues that were gunn free zones. I would
probably aim the same way. That's why I and many
others liked school so much. At least for me, I'm
focused on them. Adam Lanza is my reason. So this
(14:10):
is what the sick, twisted transgender terrorist thought as he
was plotting to do this attack, to kill children like
yours and mind. And by the way, they kept those
doors locked without knowing that the attack was about to happen.
That's why he couldn't get in and spray of the
place and kill as many as he could in that instance.
That's why. And by the way, when he put these
wooden bars on all the doors so they couldn't get out,
(14:32):
it didn't matter because the doors were locked, he couldn't
get in.
Speaker 19 (14:35):
So what do they do?
Speaker 4 (14:36):
Instead? He went to the side, as you know, of
the children started shooting randomly through those windows. And those
children are in a buddy system. I want to play
that for you too if we have time, Producer Marco okay,
well then we'll do it coming up next, because these
children have an amazing buddy system and the middle schools
were heroes. But right now, it's five point twenty. Let's
(14:57):
check traffic with Gary.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
Mack all right, on the north side sixth to the
northward westbound before I forty five and not holding this
up much yet. However, if you're already out in a
mountain nearby, that's a center lane stall. And I didn't
catch a name nonethe last confirming what we're seeing here
from our tip line seven one three two one two
taps the cones and hard hats.
Speaker 21 (15:16):
Hey, good morning over that everybody has a great Friday.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Fifty nine north bound right before you eighty eight, everything
comes to the spot.
Speaker 21 (15:24):
I think they got construcking.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
Going on, Yes, sir, in two left lanes delays almost
now to Mandel. I've got it at eight minutes and
next time, tell us who you are. I'm Garymack at
the Usaarvresorts dot Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
From the KTIH top text defenders twenty four. Our weather
center today, mix of clouds and sung with the chance
of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. I love it at
it afternoon, I have ninety four tonight, cloudy skies with
a few showers later on that night, low of seventy
eight ten eighty degrees. Right now at your severe weather
station news Radio seven forty KTRH, it's five twenty two.
(15:58):
Time for headlines. Here's Cliff.
Speaker 7 (15:59):
Thank you, Chris.
Speaker 6 (16:00):
Despite making DC safe for Democrats still want to complain
about Trump's crime crackdown. With no meetings set between Putin
and Zelenski, the White House announces a eight hundred and
twenty five million dollar arm sale to Ukraine, and a
flight from Aspen to Houston had to be diverted to
Austin because of turbulence. We're still waiting for word on
any injuries. Get the latest news anytime at KTRH dot com.

Our next update is a five thirty What has happened
just yesterday?
Speaker 19 (16:28):
What's happening today? I care what happens.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
So the things are happening right here on News Radio
seven KTRH.
Speaker 4 (16:38):
Five twenty two on News Radio seven forty k t H.
This is Chris crock and Fort Jimmy Barrett. He's back
on Monday. Always love being with you on Houston's morning News.
Getting back to the transgender terrorist and just need to
hit this and learn as much as we can. Listen
to this beautiful picture here. First of all, this is
a ten year old girl. This little boy you've heard
(17:01):
undoubtedly this little boy is a hero too. By the way,
these are two ten year olds to talk to the media.
This kid's so precious. He's like a ray of sunshine
in the middle of this horrible situation.
Speaker 22 (17:10):
We just got into mask.
Speaker 23 (17:11):
It was like three minutes after. It was very scary.
It was like my friend got shot in the back.
He was like laying on top of me, like making
sure I was safe and he got hit.
Speaker 19 (17:25):
So that was really brave of him. And you have
a nick on your neck, Yeah, that was I don't.
Speaker 23 (17:32):
Even know it's from kind of looks like debris or.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
Something that came from during this.
Speaker 19 (17:38):
Yeah, who are you feeling?
Speaker 4 (17:40):
You seem pretty put together here, but then it's gotta
be talk.
Speaker 23 (17:43):
Yeah, I'm just like confused kind of because I.
Speaker 9 (17:46):
Never thought it would happen.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
This little champ, this little sweetheart, cute boy is like
he's like a grown man in the child's body. He's
freaking brilliant and so awesome. He's processing his emotions you
know over the this that dad has so much to
be proud of, that sweetheart. And here's the ten year
old girl that came across my wire if you last
night prepping for this morning. She's ten years old also,
(18:10):
and I.
Speaker 24 (18:10):
Heard something like really loud, like I thought it was
fireworks in the church, and then then I saw the
shooting and I was like, oh my gosh, I'm so scared.
And so a teacher lead me down stairs. She liked
to like preschool classroom, and so I went there and
(18:30):
me and my friend Cecy were just praying, praying.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
Yes, do you praying the prayers that Jensaki and a
lot of liberal Democrats are mocking. There's nothing more powerful
than prayer. There's two things you got to do. One
is to pray like it depends on God, because it does.
But also you act like it depends on you. You do
those do those things together, and you're golden. Prayers do
make a difference. Now let's go to this and by
(18:55):
the way, I'm channeling my inner Mark Patterson, who wrote
a book about that as a DC pastor. Here we go.
The buddy system. This is so sweet.
Speaker 25 (19:03):
We've got a great tradition at the school of It's
a buddy system of middle schoolers with the kids. And
so everybody goes to mask gets assigned a buddy the
first week, say like a first and a third grader
is the seventh grader and so you walk to mask
with your buddy's hand in hand, you sit next to
him in mass hand in hand, and when those shots
rang out, according to our kids and people there is
(19:25):
the first heroic instinct of our middle schoolers was to
push the buddies down, get them under the pews. And
as a result, that's why a lot of the the
injuries were of middle schoolers that put little kids before themselves.
And then they jumped under and covered the little kids
under the pews. So there's heroism and selflessness all over
(19:51):
this thing.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
God bless them for their planning, those little those that's
why you have a two middle schoolers shot and two
of them killed. They're protecting the little children, and God
bless them for that. But I want the Catholic church
to get armed and start doing what we do like
at the Baptist Church, like at my church, and many churches,
get armed and get trained. All right, It is five
(20:13):
twenty six on news radio seven forty.
Speaker 22 (20:14):
K t H.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
Time to check your money, money, money, Here's Denise Pelgren
to make me some money from the Bloomberg has come
on after the Bloomberg Business Network.
Speaker 26 (20:24):
Yeah, Chris, if you want to make money, maybe try
gold this morning non stocks because stock futures are pointing
to a lower open down futures down one forty five
s and P futures down twenty NESDEK futures down one fifteen.
That says investors watch for details and just so much
prices have been going up. We'll be getting a report
on prices for July. It's the one that Fed likes
to watch. And of course, ahead of next month's flm
(20:46):
C meeting, this report this morning, just before the opening bell,
is being very closely watched. Today shows of Dell under
pressure after reporting fewer sales of artificial intelligence service and
lower profit margins than analysts estimated. Even so, Dell is
raising its annual sales projection and increasing its earnings forecast.
And Chris, here's the way you might be able to
(21:06):
make some money. If you can get your hands on
one of the new Lebuboo mini dolls and then resell
it on eBay, you might be able to make a
pretty penny. Because popmar just put these out this morning
in a pre sale. They sold out all of them
around the world pretty much instantly. I'm talking about the US, Japan,
South Korea, elsewhere. If you can get your hands on
(21:27):
month though you can sell it on eBay. It looks
like for hundreds and hundreds of bucks. Right now, I'm

It's five thirty am, of course, on Houston's Morning News
on Chris Rocket for Jimmy Verrett. He's back Monday. Dems
admit Trump's crime crack down is a success indeed, but
they won't stop fighting him. Of course, concerners hit back
the left as the left trashes thoughts and prayers on
the Minnesota shooting. But first let's check traffic and weather

Even Democrats say that President Trump has made Washington safer
with his crackdown on crime, but.
Speaker 7 (23:20):
Still they feel the need to fight him on it.
Speaker 28 (23:24):
We've been seeing the governor of Illinois parading out there
saying that there's nothing wrong with Chicago. It's a great
place to live. There's no crime there. He doesn't need
President Trump's help. Well, I think the residents of Chicago
begged to differ.

For that, they are now labeled sexual harassers. But this
is what their parents have been raising them to be,
to respect women. So you have now school boards who
are against parents.
Speaker 6 (24:15):
Sears is facing former Democrat Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger in November.
The mainstream media keeps downplaying the background of the Minnesota
school shooter, and they're mocking Republicans over thoughts and prayers.
Speaker 7 (24:30):
Vice President J. D. Vince is fed up.
Speaker 29 (24:33):
If you are a politician or your immedia commentator, and
two beautiful babies just got murdered while praying, and your
politics force you to contend prayer in response to it.
You ought to get new politics because something very wrong
has gone on inside your.
Speaker 6 (24:48):
Soulier advance with Fox's Will Caine more on the Annunciation
School tragedy. At six o'clock here at home, we told
you that Harrison County Commissioners voted to spend nearly four
hundred and seventy thousand do to sponsor this year's Gay
Softball World Series. Yet another problem and another example of
this county spending problem.
Speaker 21 (25:09):
I don't think this would be at the top of
anybody's less of something that we would won't defined in
this content and this budget year and this fifle preasing three.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
Republican Tom Ramsey was the loan no vote and says
we should be focusing on investments with long term returns,

a major national security blind spot.

A Chinese national is charged with stealing sensitive data from
M d Anderson after working there for three years on
a research scholar visa Alan Phelps CEO of the security
firm IP Talents, says these institutions must take research security
more seriously.
Speaker 31 (25:52):
Policies are good, procedures are good, but we really need
a culture shift in the researchers themselves. You're working on SAGENTA,
it's incredibly valuable. Can you have an obligation not to
misuse bad access as to be given to you and
prevent misappropriation?
Speaker 30 (26:04):

Speaker 6 (26:12):
An idea to allow six hundred thousand Chinese students to
obtain vises has drawn some backlash against President Trump. China
expert Gordon Shang says increasing from the two hundred and
seventy seven thousand over to over a half a million
just gives the Chinese more avenues to spy.
Speaker 32 (26:28):
China uses every point of contact to support our society,
so it's important for us to reduce those points of contact,
not increase them, and so therefore we should be reducing
the number of Chinese students in our colleges and universities,
not increasing them.
Speaker 6 (26:44):
He says this will also take more spots away from
American students that said, the president has shut the border
down and deported dangerous illegal aliens, But the left is
bringing back one of their most overplayed catchphrases. It's the
old classic immigrants are America.
Speaker 33 (27:01):
It is a very well worn cliche. But it's also
true that Americans want to have an immigration policy that
serves the national interest.
Speaker 34 (27:11):
That's Jessica Vaughan with the Center for Immigration Studies.
Speaker 33 (27:15):
We've had an experiment in open borders for the last
four years under the Biden policy, and that did not

Speaker 36 (29:02):
I actually participated in medicalizing young people for almost five years,
and what I saw was that we were harming these kids.
They were not getting better, often their mental health was
getting worse.
Speaker 19 (29:16):
We were tearing apart.
Speaker 36 (29:17):
Families, and we also have to recognize that gender ideology
tears apart other facets of our social of our society.
The ideology as a whole, to me, just became something
that I felt like I was participating in harming the
exact same patients that my job was supposed to be
to protect, to make them better. I was making them worse.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
I was watching from Ben Shapiro. There's a somebody secretly
recorded a meeting with the head of the AMA American
Medical Association about these statistics unharmed for the children and
what it does and not being able to reproduce because
these medications, these hormones and stuff they're giving these children.
He waved his hand and like he moved his hand
(30:02):
like he was like, you know, want, wah wah wah want.
Like somebody was like as a puppet talking and ignored it.
That's who's in charge. That's who's telling your six month

right up their rear on that, et cetera. Now, the
transgender terrorists, as you've heard, wanted to was extremely upset

I'm sick of my hair. I want to chop it off.
I only keep it because it's pretty much my last
shared whatever blank of being trans. I'm tired of being trans.
I wish I never brainwashed myself. No, no, no, you
were a minor. Your parents, your governor, and your government
and the left brainwashed you and got you to do
(30:44):
this to yourself. And now look where you're at more
despondent Minnesota's lieutenant governor I mentioned with the shirt, but
I want to also mention this. The shooter wrote about
his parents that they have not failed You did not
fail me. You raised me to be a good person.
Speaker 19 (31:00):
Wrong.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
You did fail him. You gave him everything he wanted.
You never told him no, you never gave him, gave
him discipline. That is my thought on that. If you
want to chime in, hit the microphone button on your

need a security guard. We don't live They're horrible in
my opinion, we don't need that stuff. Arm and train

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Minnesota Ranks the highest per capitable for being a safe
haven for transgender individuals in Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Yeah, great job, Governor Walls. You didn't give the the
churches and other non public schools that are schools and
charter schools and such after they begged after the transgender
terrorist shooting in Nashville. They sent a letter to you,
a munch bunch of the Catholic schools across the state
of from Minnesota. And you did nothing, but you made
in a transanctuary state. You told this young man that
(33:32):
he's a girl and told him to go ahead and
do everything. I give him full permission, give him all
the rights and everything you canada as a minor. And
what did it get you? Here's where it got you
entertaining mental illness. Let's go. And it's like telling somebod
who's anorexic that and when they say they're fat, agreeing
with them, Yes, you're fat, Absolutely, you're right. Yeah, keep dieting,
you're doing great. That's exactly what this is. Instead of
(33:53):
saying you're giving them loving help and shepherding them gently
along the way. Let's hear we got a call back.
And if you want to hit the microphone button on
your iHeartRadio up and go to town on anything I'm
talking about this morning, you can let's hear our talkback.
Speaker 37 (34:05):
If you stand in front of a Marria Day kid
and you're born with a penis and you see a vagina,
you were obviously schizophrenic because you're seeing something that's not there,
and he needs serious medical attention.
Speaker 4 (34:18):
It's not schizophrenia. It is called gender gender what is
it called gender dysphoria? And the former head of Johns
Hopkins gendersphoria outfit or clinic if you will, and he's
still on staff at Johns Hopkins. He wrote a compelling
column five ten years ago in USA Today that I
read a million times. I kept reprinting it highlighting it
(34:39):
over the years, and he basically said, what you need
to know if your child has this problem, what you
do is you lovingly shepherd them in the right way,
gently and lovingly. You still love them unconditionally, but you
don't approve of it. You know, that's how you would
handle it in a loving way. You don't condemn your child.
To disown your child, that's horrible. What you do is
you gently shepherd them through this. And he said that
after adolescence twenty one, twenty twenty two. They end up saying,
(35:01):
you know what, I'm comfortable with who I am. Over
ninety percent of them end up saying I'm comfortable the
way that God made me, and I'm okay. But what's
happening is they're entertaining a mental illness, just as if
it's anorexia, and that is insane. That is, parents are
letting the child be in charge. Absolutely insane. Coming up
next to you nowhere else is insane. Not letting your
(35:24):
school district have armed faculty. The state of Texas, you
have a compliance that is very very low. Majority of
Texas school district's not in compliance with armed security requirement. Well,
it's too much money, says Dallaside the ISD in this article.
It's too much money because we can't afforde eighty five
thousand dollars for security guard. What do you worry about
security guards? For those parents of those children, I should
(35:45):
say it should be the teachers and the faculty know
those kids, love those kids, and many of them would
die for those kids. Let them get trained and armed.
That ain't expensive. Pull your hair out of your rump
and your anti gun stands out of your head and
fight back the right way. That is a way that
you can do it affordably. We're going to talk to
a former school resource officer, please chief on this coming
up at five fifty two. It's five fifty Let's check
(36:07):
traffic with Garry Mack.
Speaker 5 (36:08):
Yeah, let's begin again with a disabled vehicle. It's all

It's five fifty two on news Radio seven forty k
t H. Chris crock In for Jimmy Barrett. We have
a guest with us, Catherine Torres, your former school resource
officer and police chief, which is fantastic to talk to
you about how the majority of Texas school districts aren't
in compliance with armed security requirement. Let me ask you this, Kathin,
first of all, welcome to this radio seven forty kr
(37:51):
H and Sorkin of all, are you so good morning?
Are you surprised that the majority of Texas school districts
aren't in compliance.
Speaker 22 (37:59):
No, I'm absolutely not surprised. In fact, soon as I
heard the requirement in my head, I just went, well,
good luck with that, because they didn't give the school
districts enough time. Number one, and and the expense to
do everything, as you already stated, is pretty overwhelming for
(38:25):
the schools to be able to comply with this.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
You know, when I look at this too, I mean
I don't have any they're they're they're complaining in this
one article that d I S D Dallas ized D
they well, we can't afford eighty five thousand dollars for
security guard. Look when when people walked into not too
long ago, into fourth ID, into one of their schools
and one of the big high schools there, they had
(38:49):
a camera rolling, you know, they're on their iPhone, one
of the some younger journalist type of person, and they
walked into the entrance and there was a security guard
sleeping literally on the video. So the middle of the day.
I don't trust security guards, do you.
Speaker 22 (39:05):
I don't want to put it as a blank at
state because I know that there are some that are
very good that are the requirements for security guards, though,
are not quite as high as there are for police officers.
But I mean, I'll be honest. I actually rolled up
(39:26):
on a police officer a sleep in his car a
couple of days ago. I rolled back by five minutes
later he was awake.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
But who's more likely to be willing to run towards
the fire gunfire or security guard or a cop?
Speaker 22 (39:45):
I would think a police officer. But I know some
fine security officers police who really, really, really care about
their job. But police officers have much higher training. Security
guards only have to go through. I don't remember the
(40:12):
required amount of time for security guards, but I think
to be a level for security where they can actually
carry a gun, I think it's far less than a
month of training.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
Let me take you to volt Okay, well, let me
take you to Valdi. Go ahead, sign no.
Speaker 22 (40:33):
But I do know this that the level for security
officers do have to have the psychological exam, just what
police officers have to have. Me so I'm encouraged at
least about that.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
I'll take you to Valdi. Remember there was the one
man who was in the classroom when the terrorist struck
and he was you know, he was emotional, crying. It
was a powerful video of him talking. He was very
much anti gun, but I believe he had the chance
to have a weapon on his person. If you could
have picked up a gun, he would have used it,
even if he's anti gun. So don't you think that
(41:08):
training and doing the background of the psychological on staff
members would be just as powerful and good if they're
trained properly to in these situations because they know the children,
they love them, and they would die for them in
many cases.
Speaker 22 (41:24):
I do agree with that if this teacher and staff
member is willing to get trained, right, there are some
who There are some who absolutely don't want anything to
do with that, But there are some, and I know
that some of our schools do offer and allow their
teachers their staff to go through the training. It's usually
(41:48):
in remote areas, and I'm glad at least in remote
areas there's something, because something there at the school to
protect them, because it can take thirty minutes for somebody
to get there, and.
Speaker 4 (42:00):
Law enforcement we got ten seconds. But isn't it a
lot cheaper to train faculty. And by the way, they're
happening in the burbs too, and they need to be
in the burbs in the inner City. Isn't it a
lot cheaper?
Speaker 9 (42:11):
Absolutely, it's cheaper to train them, and they're already on
the payroll. They just get a stipend additional stopping to
be able to do that and to carry the weapon
there at the school.
Speaker 4 (42:25):
That's why this angers me, because the solution is right
in front of them, and they won't do it. There's
the excuses do not impress me. It makes me angry
as a parent and as a citizen. But I want
to say thank you for coming on with us. I
appreciate you very much this morning. Catherine Torres, former resource
officer and police chief, thank you so much. It is

Thank you very much, Chris. Good morning everyone, six oh

Speaker 38 (44:26):
Why is there such an obsession with allowing men in
women's spaces? This isn't just a theoretical issue. It's real,
it's personal, and it affects everyday Texans.
Speaker 7 (44:36):
Texas State Rep.
Speaker 6 (44:37):
Hillary Hicklin, after years of trying, the Texas House finally
passed a bill to keep men out of women's private spaces.
There's just one more stop before it reaches the governor's desk.
The state Senate has to approve changes that the House
may check your calendar Monday, Labor Day, September one, and
that's when hundreds of new laws take effect in Texas.
Speaker 39 (44:58):
One of them legalizes short barrel rifles, removing them from
the state's list of banned weapons.
Speaker 12 (45:04):
You know, don't run out and grab one of these
items without jumping through.
Speaker 39 (45:07):
The federal Kirk Evans, with Texas based US Law shield
says there is still a background check, but a two
hundred dollars fee was canceled under President Trump's One Big,
Beautiful Bill. Another new gun law that starts September first
is a ban on gun buy back programs. They're popular
with Democrats, but some police say they don't cut crime.
(45:28):
I'm Beth Myers News Radio seven forty KTRI.
Speaker 6 (45:31):
Thank you, Bethis Texas law passed two years ago requires
all eight thousand public schools in the state to have
armed security on campus, but only forty five percent or
in compliance. One of the biggest factors behind that, or so,
they claim, is cost.
Speaker 9 (45:46):
The uniforms alone and the leather gear that an officer
needs to be able to work. That's a huge cost.
And then you have to hire somebody to work inside
an office to keep up with all the records.
Speaker 6 (46:00):
Former school resource officer and police chief Catherine Torres says
it's also incredibly difficult to find officers that want to
work in schools, and once you do, it takes time
to train them. The families of some of the victims
of this week's Annunciation Church school shooting in Minneapolis are
speaking out.
Speaker 40 (46:16):
While the whole in our hearts and lives will never
be filled, I hope that in time our family can
find healing.
Speaker 6 (46:23):
Jesse Merker lost his son, Fletcher. Police confirming the manifesto
that was posted online, adding that the shooter hated Catholics
and Jews while idolizing school shooters. We also know that
the mother in the case, Mary Grace Westman, who once
worked at the school, hired a criminal defense lawyer. She's
not cooperating with police, believe it or not.
Speaker 7 (46:44):
Six point four.
Speaker 6 (46:45):
Now on KTRHDHS says ICE officers now face a thousand
percent increase of assaults over the last year.
Speaker 41 (46:52):
The men and women advice that dedicated to the law
enforcement mission, They're not going to be sidetracked, especially by
these crazy radical leftists and you know these people on
the other side of the aisle Democrats that are calling
for violence against ICE agents and their family.
Speaker 6 (47:06):
That is Acting ICE director Todd Lyons on Fox Now.
DHS says no illegals have entered the US in three months.
Speaker 7 (47:13):
But what about screw worm.
Speaker 6 (47:15):
There's been a spike of cases in Mexico since July.
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is concerned.
Speaker 12 (47:21):
The number of livestock infections is at fifty from July
to August, so that's that's kind of alarming.
Speaker 6 (47:29):
He says that having a fifty percent increase in a
month to month shows that we have not gotten this
under control, and infection, he says, can devastate cattle herds.
Speaker 4 (47:38):
Six oh five.
Speaker 6 (47:39):
Today is the twentieth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, which didn't
lead to a crime wave here in Houston that the
left is or rather, which led to a crime wave
here in Houston that the left is now trying to
say never happened.
Speaker 34 (47:51):
Remember what happened at the Astrodome. Greg Freeman was a
lieutenant with the HPD.
Speaker 15 (47:57):
It's a fact. I mean we had tens of foul
of people that were transferred from New Orleans to the
Houston Greater Metroplex area and with that was embedded a
very hard core criminal element.
Speaker 34 (48:08):
And Freeman says, yes, crime did spike.
Speaker 15 (48:12):
Robbery, rape, aggravated assault, murder increased. And I can remember
that literally like it was yesterday. But we did see
a spike in crime as a result of influx of
these criminals.
Speaker 34 (48:21):
Now Houston just has its own crime problem. Jeff Biggs,
News Radio seven forty K Tier eight.
Speaker 6 (48:28):
It's taken more than two years, but Texas Senator Ted
Cruz's built to acquire AM radios in all new cars
finally has two thirds support in Congress.
Speaker 31 (48:37):
That's a whole venue for people to get information on
in safety alerts and the rest. Again, I'm not from
mandatory pretty much anything.
Speaker 15 (48:45):
From the gardment.
Speaker 22 (48:46):
That guy think this one is worthwhile in the shafety
of our people.
Speaker 6 (48:49):
Montgomery County Judge Marko says his emergency response team relies
heavily on AM radio. In this bill should be pushed forward.
Six oh six on KGRH. Big day for Christian Walker

Speaker 16 (49:02):
And Walker, let's this down the right field line, sliceing

Speaker 16 (49:45):
Make your official severe weather station your number one pre
set on the free iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 19 (49:51):
Stay safe, stay.
Speaker 3 (49:53):
Informed with Houston's News Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 4 (49:58):
It's six oh seven, Chris Crock and Jimmy Barrett. He's
back next week. Let's hear some talkbacks. We have several
people that have chimed in on and you can too,
by the way, just go to hit the microphone button
on your iHeartRadio app and just go to town. We'll
be playing it. Love hearing from you very very much
so actually, especially on stuff like this, with school shootings
and the idea that schools are a massive mouth. The
(50:22):
majority of schools are not in compliance. But the mandatory
you know, having either an armed guard or a police
officer or somebody like you and me who works at
the school to be trained, which is the most effective way.
Let's hear from Teresa and Snook.
Speaker 42 (50:38):
Good morning. This is Teresa from Snook School Security. Easy
to do volunteer parents, military, former military, law enforcement, former
law enforcement, License to carry parents workout shifts. Have a
couple of regulars. Got it covered. Love the show, have
a great weekend.
Speaker 7 (50:58):
Bye, Thank you.
Speaker 4 (50:59):
Very much, Teresa. I don't mind the military, but every
one of these people, except law enforcement, will need to
be trained to be able to handle it. So military
really does not have any They're trained in a completely
different way. They'll tell you that. I mean, the rules,
the laws governing military are not anywhere near what civilian is,
so they need to be trained like a civilian would.
(51:21):
They're gonna want to have staff and faculty. All we
have to do is train and arm the staff and faculty.
There are suburban districts in Dallas where I'm at. I
can't tell you about Houston, but I bet you there
are two that are. It's encroaching, coming in closer and
closer to the cities. And these people need to wake
up that run these schools and stop hating guns. They
don't commit the crimes bad people doing. Good guys with guns.
(51:43):
Stop bad guys with guns. Let's go to Joe and Crosby. Hey,
Joe Crosby, here's an idea.
Speaker 21 (51:47):
How about stop spending one hundred million dollars on football
stadiums for kids to play games, then I spend it
on security.
Speaker 4 (51:54):
Whoa that's easy. No, it's not sports. Maybe we made
a sport of you know, I think you'll think of
George carl Remember he had his baseball rules. He said,
up to make baseball interesting, have land mines out in
the baseball field. So maybe to make football interesting. I
don't know. I don't want to say about anymore guns
and athletics or you know, at schools. But nonetheless you
(52:16):
get my drift on this. By the way, again, going back,
I mentioned this in the last hour. Crime Prevention Research
Center says that ninety seven ninety eight percent basically of
mass shootings that occurred over a sixty eight year period
were carried out in gun free zones when you arm
the teachers. Some rural school districts in North Texas have
this where you armed them. They have signs outsets outside
(52:37):
in the parking lot saying we are armed, and you
literally read the manifesto and all this notes on scoping
everything out. He quoted James Holmes with the Aurora School
of Theater shooting gun free zones. He also said Adam
Lanza gun free zones. He literally said that when you
go to a school to shoot someone up and scoping
out like he did several times at the Catholic church
before he did it. You will see signs saying we
(52:58):
are armed. He will not go there. They will not
because they are cowards. Arm the flipping staff. If you
want to chime and hit the Mike fun button on
your iHeartRadio app and go to town.
Speaker 7 (53:08):
All right.
Speaker 4 (53:09):
Coming up at six point twenty two. Tom Ramsey, Precinct

chris crock and For Jimmy, barrett this is. Insane financial
support into adulthood some parents are planning, on Says The
Wall Street. Journal here's a couple that are literally saving
one thousand dollars a month of their seven year old
so that when she's an adult she'll have. Money what
she this woman says in the twenty two thousand and
(01:16:35):
seven to two thousand and Nine, recessions she worked a
string of unhappy jobs and wracked up credit card that
she doesn't want that for her. CHILD i want her
to feel like she has. Options in other, words you
never want your daughter to suffer when suffering and going
through hard times makes her. Better this is how we
can have our. Country another one of the many things
(01:16:56):
that can help have our country fall. Apart when people
don't have a spine and don't have to go through difficult.
Situations this is. Horrible regardless of how much money this woman,
has she's hurting her. DAUGHTER a forty year old woman
is still on her cell phone. Plan it's another. Example
the journal, says here's. Another here's some other pieces from this.
ARTICLE i have the ability to help, out says one
(01:17:17):
of the. PARENTS i, say but should you help? Out
just because you can doesn't mean you, should and you.
Shouldn't the costs of housing have sort and my twenty

levels two. Apartments he lived on one the other one
was somebody. Else he ran it, too and the man
did ordinarily well and has still done. Well here's, this,

this this couple that's doing, this saving up this. Money
her daughter's quote lifelong allowance is shockingly lower than we,

of an impacted to have it in crime in our police,
department and the ability to police without the prior to
The katrina evacuates arriving.
Speaker 15 (01:43:34):
Exactly And, chris thank you for having me on your
show this, morning AND i appreciate your. COMMENTARY i had
a front row seat to it twenty years. AGO i
was a Lieutenant and let me just say first things,
first this was one of the most spectacular assignments that
our department had to engage in next To harvey with
mobilizing our police. Department we had tens of thousands of
refugees and evacuees coming in from The Greater New orleans.
(01:43:56):
Area our entire department was, mobilized working twelve hour. SHIFTS
i was working at The Astronome Reliant Stadium Reliance. Center
we had tens of thousands of people converging in into
The houston area and into that complex within literally. Months
part when crime in the city Of houston increased, exponentially
(01:44:17):
murder robbery, rate murder rates especially. Increased they were killing each,
other the gang. Members and let me preface this by
saying that we did have a large contingency of truly
people that were put out from the, storm that were
the people on a law bodying, Citizenry but there was
deeply a large portion of criminals that were embedded within this.
(01:44:37):
Population and these criminals are unlike any others that we
had seen. Before and even our gang members were offended
by what they were.
Speaker 14 (01:44:45):
Doing so.
Speaker 15 (01:44:47):
They truly Were we had information that they would they
were getting completely taken.
Speaker 19 (01:44:53):
Back by the level of just.
Speaker 15 (01:44:55):
Lens, yeah it was crazy that they had no, remorse
no s pathy for, life for law enforcement especially and.
Speaker 19 (01:45:02):
That was another.
Speaker 15 (01:45:03):
Thing they thought that we were Like New ORLEANS. Pd
they had no respect for the police department, there and
they were quickly educated The HOUSTON pd did not tolerate
that type of.
Speaker 4 (01:45:13):
Behavior were you given the freedom to do what she
needed to do to do good policing at that?
Speaker 15 (01:45:17):
TIME i can say dish honestly now Because i'm, retired
but and the chief that we had at the, time
we were pretty much told.
Speaker 19 (01:45:26):
In the beginning to stand down on minor.
Speaker 15 (01:45:29):
Offenses For katrina. Evacuees but then it got to the
point where the crime was just so outrageous even things
that they were doing at in and around The Reliance,
stadium criminal, mischief social, disorder, crimes public drum, pakness fighting
and resisting arrest and fighting went the. Police so we
even had A Houston police, Officer.
Speaker 4 (01:45:50):

Murdered he was off, duty but two suspects that Were
katrina evacuees were charged with capital murder and the aggravate
robbery of this.
Speaker 4 (01:45:59):
Officer, disgusting absolutely. Disgusting what do you say to the
left who's trying to whitewash all this and pretend there
was no. Crime tell me what you want to say to.
Speaker 15 (01:46:09):
Them, yeah it's outrageous. BEHAVIOR i, mean you cannot ignore.
History and that's exactly what they are doing and have.
Done they embrace the criminals and they revictimize the victims
all over.
