Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, vote maybe, but don't vote by mail. That at
least that's what the President says seven to fifty three.
Now here in Houston's Warning News, now Vernaldi's with US
former State Rep. Forward Texas GOP chairman. The President has
a point because you know, security of the mail in
ballots has always been an issue, and most of the
election fraud charges have occurred as a result of mail
in voting. Agree or disagree?
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Oh? Absolutely agree? And you know what I think the
Democrats agree to, even though they won't admit it now.
I mean, previously on the Texas House floor, Democrat leaders
admitted that mail in voting is the primary primary cause
of fraud and elections, and we all know that to
be true.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Okay. Of course, they also like to tell you that
there's never been enough fraud to overturn an election and
that and that's where that's where the arguing starts. What
you can and what you can't prove?
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Well, I won my first election by ninety four votes.
I know other elections that have been won by one
or two votes. So if they're any voter fraud clearly
can overturn the election. So I mean, we need to
be worried about any amount of voter fraud, and those
that voter frauds coming from mail in ballots, people who
are collecting ballots that are pressuring people to vote a
(01:14):
certain way. Uh, and that that could be even harvesting
those ballots. So that's what we should be focused on,
and that's what the Presidence votes.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Could you could you eliminate all mail in voting for
example the military? That's you know, how would we handle
of overseas military and how they vote if we don't
have mail in voting anymore.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
I mean, that's that's that's not a primary source of
fraud male military ballots. What we need to do is
adopt laws, ironically, like many Blue states have, like Connecticut
and Delaware, where you have single day voting. Uh, you
only have mail in ballots upon an excuse or if
you're away, like on the military, and that'll that'll cut
(01:57):
down on a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Yeah. The other thing that the President wants to do
is he wants to move into paper ballots only he
wants to get rid of some of these voting machines
that he suspects or a problem.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Absolutely agree, you know, I think mail and balloting should
be the priority, right, but secondary I think is the
voting machines, but it should be a priority as well.
We need paper ballots, and we need one day of voting.
The vote the election day should be a snapshot in time.
These two weeks of early voting we have in Texas,
(02:34):
or in some weeks you might have even more than
a month of early voting skews an election. It invites
fraud because there's more time to commit fraud, and it
should be stopped.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
All right, Matt, thank you, appreciate your time. Matt Rinaldi,
former State rep. Former Texas GLP chairman,
