still on horrible outbound ten at bud Plant. There's roadwork
and they've been patching it up. I should be picked
up in a minute. But this is eastbound outbound, not
inbound and if you're going through town, take the south
loop even if you're not hazardous. Also the text, OK,
lady from Beaumont sent me a really big note coming
(01:17):

Thank you, Jimmy, Good morning everybody, five o two on

Speaker 6 (01:55):
The question here is who's the only leader in the
world that can talk to both sides and hopefully bring
him to a d oh And that's President Trump.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
Secretary of State Marco Rubio with kt REHS Sean Hanned
he calling Russia his top priority now that he's entered
the role of interim National Security Advisor to his list
of duties after Michael Waltz left the role yesterday. But
this does not seem to be the firing that the
mainstream media wanted you to think it was.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
You could argue that he just got a promotion.
Speaker 7 (02:23):
So President Trump doesn't want him as the National Security
Advisor anymore. Instead, he's putting him up for Senate confirmation
as the US Ambassador to the UN, and Waltz said,
I'm deeply honored to continue my service to President Trump.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
Peter Doucy on Capitol Hill, Rubio will also have Iran
to deal with. The latest nuke talks with the US
have been postponed. President Trump is threatening sanctions on anyone
buying oil from Tehran.
Speaker 8 (02:50):
President Trump is exactly right going back and saying we're
going back to maximum pressure. We're going to cut off
the money, and we're going to cut off the funds
that are funding the.

set to end his time at DOGE, but he's still

federal entitlement benefits being carved out for Americans with birthdays

Speaker 9 (03:20):
You're talking about like your great grandchildren, like for the birthday.
I think it was like twenty one sixty five, so
more than essentially from now.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
By the way, in just over one hundred days, doche
has saved about one hundred and sixty billion dollars. Meantime,
Republicans are trying to make the Trump tax cuts from
eight years ago permanent, but some like Texas's Chip Roy,
have conditions.
Speaker 10 (03:44):
I'm for the tax cuts, but only if it comes
with the spending cuts.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
The goal is for the bill to be on Trump's
desk by July fourth. Now, Republican leadership originally wanted to
have this all wrapped up by Memorial Day.
Speaker 11 (03:57):
So will Congress actually be able to pass it by
July fourth like the Trump team wants.
Speaker 12 (04:01):
On the Senate side, I think it's much more likely
that they meet that deadline. There's a lot more agreement
within the Senate Republican caucaus on what needs to be
in the budget.
Speaker 11 (04:10):
Chris Johnson with the College Republican says the real difficulty
will be getting it through the more divided House.
Speaker 12 (04:15):
They have no real intentive not to just keep arguing
with each other, kicking the can as far down the
line as possible, especially on a couple of issues where
people are viewing it that.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
The hill we're dying on.
Speaker 11 (04:24):
Johnson added that how the House and Senate bill reconcile
with each other could also be an issue. Ethan Buchanan

Federal judge a Trump nominee, has blocked the administration from
deporting alleged Venezuelan gang members from Texas under the Alien
Enemies Act. US District Court judge Fernando Rodriguez Junior said
the White House's use of the law quote exceeds the
scope of the statue. Now, as the left continues to

the legal aliens, Victoria Taft at PJ Media points out, Hey,
it's just the rules.
Speaker 14 (05:02):
If you want to treat us this way, let's see
how it works out when we treat you the same way.
That was my proposal.
Speaker 15 (05:09):
Hey man, we didn't write the rule book.
Speaker 14 (05:10):
About what should happen to those two outlaw judges.
Speaker 13 (05:13):
You did, now, let's see how you like it.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
Meantime, borders are Tom Homan is signaling that the two
judges arrested last week may not be the only ones

now and here at home. Finally, a local judge taking
a stand to be tough on crime, Judge Emily Muno's
to Toto setting bond for the Parole team killer charged
with robbing and beating up an eighty one year old
woman at one million dollars. Meantime, a federal bust of
(05:59):
thirty illegal game runs in Uston reportedly finds that many
of them had been rated before.
Speaker 18 (06:05):
And it all connects to the controversial Texas lottery.
Speaker 19 (06:09):
When government gets into the gambling business, law enforcement begins
to see illegal gambling less as an issue for criminality
and more as a revenue issue.
Speaker 18 (06:18):
Les Bernal of Stop Predatory Gambling says, it's encouraged more
illegal gambling and Item one needs to be holding the
lottery accountable.
Speaker 19 (06:25):
You start going after the predatory forms of gambling the
Texas Lottery sponsors. It helps to denormalize these other forms
of gambling that you're seeing pop up.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
He says.
Speaker 18 (06:34):

Speaker 20 (06:47):
It definitely a big deal, and with the way needs
to go on to everyone is so shorthanded, it's very
very rare and very hard for a department to ever
be at one hundred percent staff, especially a large agency
like ours.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
By the way, hpds'll short some twelve hundred people. Finally,
the Rockets are in Golden State tonight for Game six

Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Now back to Jimmy Barrett and the Houston Morning News team,
Houston's Morning News.
Speaker 21 (07:26):
Five.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Oh wait our time here on Houston's Morning News. Houston
is well known, as you know, for road rage, right,
but our road rage here is the typical road rage.
You know, people get cut off, you flip the bird
to somebody. Although you do it to trump peril. I
make the assumption that whoever I might be tempted to
flip off may be armed and dangerous. So I resist
(07:49):
the temptation. Others do not. Others do not, and that's
how we end up with these road rage incidents. You know,
people forcing other people off the road, gunplay, all the
thing to go along with it. This is relatively harmless
compared to that. Evidently they do road rage a little
bit different. In Pennsylvania, a female road ranger was so
(08:11):
upset at another driver that she ran over to the
other car, jumped on the hood of the car, and
pooped what she pooped. She is facing several charges, including
depositing waste on the highway. Kind of a fine comes
(08:35):
with that, I wonder, So, you know, I that's easily fixed.
I guess with a car wash. I'm impressed by something here,
and maybe this is just the sickness of me. It's
not easy to poop on command. I mean, have you
ever tried to do something like that? I mean, how
(08:56):
do you just muster up something like that because you're angry?
That's relatively impressive. The reason why she ultimately like, well,
she left evidence behind. That's clear. A witness caught the
whole thing on video and put it online, so you've
got that too. It was a you know, cut off situation.
Wards exchange escalated from there. So who is this woman
(09:19):
who did this? Who's the pooper? She's a forty four
year old by the name of Christina Salomento. Forty four
seems kind of a little older and slightly more mature
to be pooping on other people's hoods. But this is
what went down five to ten time for traffic and
weather together.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
The court would not always be boring then, because usually
I sit there in traffic court and it just bores
me to that would be interesting.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
I'd like to sit there, you'd like to would you
like to hear the evidence of course, or see or
would you prefer to see the evidence. That would be
better than the OJ trial.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
See this, you know, let's get to the evidence.
Speaker 16 (09:53):
Here.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
We've got the roadwork on the East Freeway hard hat
sets on the outbound side. It's not affecting you because
you're come in, but right after the bud plant they've
just now started to pick this up. So it's about
a two minute skunshift that that's getting better by the minute.
Speaker 16 (10:09):
Here.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
If you are hazardous, of course you're going to take
six to ten instead.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
You could take the Beltway, I believe.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
Also, yep, you can South Sam North Sam. You have
roadwork at Aldine Westfield and the roadwork at Imperial Valley.
Will take a left lane both ways, and just watch
out for other stations. Listeners watching out for don't know
that you're going to get a squeeze down for nothing.
And one of my best friends in radio jumpin Joe,
that works for that country station across the street that
(10:36):
doesn't play actual country music. He says, watch out for
a closure on the feeder road Katie Freeway.

Windows Solutions. Now back to Jimmy Barretts and the Houston
Morning News team all the info you need to take.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
On the day. Just about five twenty is our time
here on Houston's Morning News. You know they had that
big blackout in Spain and Portugal on Monday, and of
course the government there has been getting asked a lot
of questions about the cause and has been getting asked
if it had anything to do with that, that there's so
(12:00):
relying on renewable energy, and of course, you know how
the people who are all in on renewable energy are right,
they will deny till the cows come home that that
had anything to do with it. But the independent journalist says,
oh no, it had everything to do with renewable energy.
More than that story coming up next, But first, traffic
in weather together is starting with you, sky Mike.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
We got a stall truck downtown. That's big old eighteen
wheeler forty five. You're pierce elevated just past the Ferres

right shoulder. But here's the deal. A lot of you
trying to merge over to IT ten to get to

to start with there, So that's going to mess you up.
Just pay attention as you're coming up now after Louisiana Street.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
What's ahead on Youth Radio seven?
Speaker 3 (14:03):
And where is it dark all day in all nights
because there's a blackout in Spain? Indeed in Spain? All right?
The rain in Spain, we know where the rain in
Spain is mainly on the plane. But where's the electricity?
Where'd that go? On Monday? They had a big blackout
and there have been some warnings evidently coming. By the way,
(14:28):
as you listen this story, this is going to sound
really familiar. As a Texan, It's going to sound eerily familiar.
We've heard all this and experienced all this before. Maybe
not to the extent that they did in Spain, but
you can see how it could and maybe will ultimately
happen here if we don't get our you know what together.
(14:49):
Here is journalist Michael Schellenberger who says that Spain is
denying that the real culprit for Monday's blackout was renewable energy.
Speaker 23 (15:00):
Here's a headline about this exact moment in Spain from Reuters.
The headline is don't blame renewables for Spain's power outage.
Then this is the second sentence of the story, The
issue appears to be the management of renewables in the
modern grid.
Speaker 24 (15:20):
Can you square that circle for me, Michael.
Speaker 22 (15:24):
Of Coortunately, I can't because the headline is obviously wrong.
You look, as soon as this happened, everybody who follows
energy closely and understands how electrical grids work knew that
it was renewables. This is very basic idea that you
probably remember from your high school physics of inertia, which
is in the energy system and the electrical system. The
(15:45):
old fashioned power plants, coal, gas, nuclear, they have these
turbines that spin and when you're modulating the frequency, because
of course you have to perfectly match supply and demand
of electricity or you have a either a black out
or a blowout.
Speaker 24 (16:01):
You allow that inertia, and the power.
Speaker 22 (16:03):
Plants buffered those little fluctuations that are always happening but
need to be carefully managed. Solar farms and also wind
turbines don't have that same buffering capacity. They just have
these inverters. So this has been widely discussed. It was
actually warned of blackouts, was being warned of by the
Spanish utility. In February, the International Energy Agency the week
(16:26):
before the blackouts had a special conference on it with
a report that they still have not made public, even
though it's taxpayer funded because IEA is the International Energy
Agency of OECD countries.
Speaker 24 (16:38):
So they've been the Spanish government, the president.
Speaker 22 (16:41):
I would rarely say it so harshly, but they certainly
know that it was caused by renewables, not just probably
because of the inertial prom but also probably because the drop.
Speaker 24 (16:51):
Of solar and then or the increase of it. You know,
there's a cloudy day.
Speaker 22 (16:55):
They knew what was going on, and they've been spreading
misinformation about it.
Speaker 16 (16:59):
So to speak.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
Uhha, oh, it was a cloudy day, that was the problem.
The problem wasn't renewable energy. It was a cloudy day.
It's like saying, the problem isn't that we rely too
much on wind turbines in Texas. There was no wind.
You know, I remain one of those people. I'm not
(17:21):
I know it sounds that way, but I'm not anti
renewable energy. I'm really not. I believe in all forms
of energy. The way Texas is growing, especially here in
the Houston area, we need all forms of energy, we
just do, and renewables can be a part of that mix.
But we are way too reliant on them, and we
are growing way too fast. And if we don't get
our butts in gear here pretty soon and start building
(17:44):
some what I would call hard energy, you know, natural gas,
clean burning coal, nuclear power. If we don't start doing that,
we're gonna be in a world of hurt. Sooner versus later.
Five twenty six, it is time to take a look
at your money. Good morning to you, Jeff Bellinger and
Jimmy Goode, orring to you.
Speaker 25 (18:00):
Stocks advanced in Thursday's trading helped thelong by strong quarterly
results from some big tech companies, and the futures are
higher at the moment, with the Dow futures up one
hundred ninety two points, But the April employment report will
likely set the tone for the Friday session on Wall Street.
Bloomberg Intelligence says there was likely a down shift in
hiring last month. The consensus is that about one hundred
(18:23):
thirty eight thousand jobs were added, with the unemployment rate
holding at four point two percent. BI says numbers for
this month, which will be out in early June, will
be weaker because of the trade war and Apple is

Everybody should believe in the American Dream. It's real, it's there,

Speaker 5 (20:37):
President trum making that promise last night delivering the commencement
at the University of Alabama, hours after a busy day
for his cabinet. Now, it started with Michael Waltz being
out as National Security Advisor.
Speaker 13 (20:51):
The mainstream media.
Speaker 5 (20:52):
Called it a firing for his role in that signal
Gate scandal that didn't turn out to be much. But
then Trump nominated Waltz for you one ambassador.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
It wasn't let go.
Speaker 28 (21:02):
He is being made ambassador to the United Nations, which
of course is the Senate confirm position. I think you
can make a good argument that it's promotion.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Vice President jd Vance explaining all of it on Fox
and this comes as China now says it's quote evaluating
an offer from Washington to hold talks over tariffs. In
other words, they want to come to the table. Louisiana
Senator Bill Cassidy told k trh is Clay Travis and
Buck Sexton. At the end of the day, China needs
(21:28):
us as much as we need them.
Speaker 29 (21:30):
We are dependent upon them, they are dependent upon us,
and so the President's going to really have to do
the art of the deal to make that work.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
By the way, down, futures are up one hundred and
ninety one points this morning after gains across all three
in disease yesterday five point thirty three on KGRH. The
Federal Reserve is expected to keep interest rates where they
are next week.
Speaker 13 (21:52):
But this is the right move or not.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Certified financial planner Richard Rosso says inflation is down to
two point three percent. If she'll say, they need more
proof that things are going in the wrong direction before
considering Anny more cuts.
Speaker 15 (22:06):
No one asks him the question the conditions are better
now than they were then when it comes to your mandates,
why did you lower rates last year?
Speaker 5 (22:16):
The Fed meets again on Tuesday and Wednesday, we get
the April jobs numbers at seven thirty this morning. It's
the first hard data we will see since the President
announced tariffs one month ago. Weekly first time jobless claims
rose to two hundred and forty one thousand last week.
The economy headed two hundred and twenty eight thousand jobs
back in March.
Speaker 13 (22:36):
Taking a look at.
Speaker 5 (22:37):
Oil at five point thirty three, it is selling this
morning at fifty eight dollars and eighty three cents a barrel.
That's down forty one cents. China said, of course a reaction.
This is a reaction to China wanting to come to
the table. Prices had been dropping steadily, which is not
good for Texas oil producers, but they're hoping for a
turnaround soon.
Speaker 30 (22:57):
We feel like we're at the bottom right now, and
as we go through this bottom, we'll see prices start
coming back up. But I don't see it going any
further down. And that's why you buy low so high right,
you drill in prices lower.
Speaker 5 (23:09):
Oilexperg Jay Young says the ideal price for consumers and
producers is somewhere between seventy dollars and eighty dollars a barrel. Meantime,
gasoline prices across the area check in at two seventy
three a gallon this morning. That's down fifty cents from
one year ago under then President Joe Biden. It's five
thirty four. If you thought the radical left was going
(23:32):
to give up their crusade for deported illegal alien kilmar
Abrego Garcia, think again.
Speaker 31 (23:38):
Do you think more of your Democratic colleague should be
traveling to El Salva they're going to advocate on behalf
of Vitego Garcia?
Speaker 3 (23:44):
I think, yeah, I'm sorry what carnis who shaid you?
Speaker 5 (23:50):
That was ilhan Omar of the squad who doubled down
posting on X quote I said what I said, You
and all your miserable trolls can blank off elsewhere. We
now have the final numbers from the major ICE operation
in Florida. More than eleven hundred illegals were arrested as
(24:10):
part of Operation Title Wave.
Speaker 32 (24:12):
That is a really significant impact, and we're demonstrating why
we're going to continue to lead on this issue.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
Governor Ron DeSantis, there and all of this is more
evidence that President Trump has exposed Joe Biden's border bull.
Speaker 33 (24:26):
After the Biden administration spent four years insisting the border
crisis was a complicated problem that could only be solved
by Congress, the Trump administration proved them wrong in weeks.
Speaker 34 (24:36):
All that was necessary was to bring a huge tools

Texas Governor Greg Gabbott officially signed school choice into law

reveals more bad news for Democrats.
Speaker 35 (25:11):
That's because reading scores have plummeted in rich blue states
like California.

News Radio seven forty ktrh.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
More with Jimmy Barrett and the Houston Morning News teams.
This is Houston's Morning News. Five thirty seven are time
here in Houston's Morning News. Quality of life. Things that
improve your quality of life, Things that people do to
improve their quality of life that they wish they'd done sooner,
And a lot of them are simple things, and I
(26:35):
feel the question of the day coming on on this one,
but I'll show you how simple some of these are.
Replacing a cheap office chair with something that actually offers
lumbar support.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
How simple is that? So instead of sitting there with
your back aching all day, you spend money in the
inappropriate chair and now your back doesn't hurt anymore. Whilah,
It's the quality of life improvement understanding that working with
someone smarter than you is a privilege and an opportunity
to learn and hone your own skills, and not a threat.
(27:07):
It took me a long time to learn that one.
Buying blackout curtains when you need to sleep during the day.
Moving out of your hometown because you're stuck in a
rut and the only reason why you haven't left is
because you've always lived there, Quitting a toxic job, learning
to say I don't know instead of pretending you know
(27:29):
what someone is talking about. People are excited to share
what they know. It's a simple thing. It can lead
to a lot of professional and personal growth. Walking every
day it gets you better sleep, better mood, more energy,
the leading social media, or at least moving it off
your phone to a secondary device, so it's something you
can escape and be more intentional about. Those are just
(27:49):
a couple of ideas. I love them. You know that
one thing that you could do that's really quite simple
that could change your life and make for a better day.
So here here's my question. Question of the day. Go
to the iHeart radio app KTRH. Put us number one
please on your preset so you can get to us quickly.
(28:11):
Once you get to us, hit the talkback button first name,
where you're calling from. The thing you did, the thing
you've done. It could be last week, last month, last year,
a couple of years ago, five years ago, whatever it is.
The thing you changed about your life that improved your
life the most. Again, go through the iHeart Radio app KTRH.
Hit the talkback button five forty time for traffic and
(28:33):
weather together. Sky Mike's big thing is candles. Do you
take a bubble bath with the candles?
Speaker 4 (28:38):
By the way, And I listened to our sister station
sending ninety nine point one just to relax sometimes.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
And it works.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
Let's go to our old tip line two eight one
two one four.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
Oh four four oh and.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Tony from Beaumont is downtown in Beaumont on a.
Speaker 26 (28:54):
Split through Lake Charles name two eighty seven north and
sixty nine north right there with a splate to the
right and left.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
My head hurts. Oh my goodness.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
Okay, that sounds like it's eastbound too, so we'll check that.
And hey, while we're talking Beaumont, there's going to be
a big closure tonight on iten. That's around Caldra exit.
It's going to be all lanes. They're fixing a bridge.
I believe that's the Maury Meyers Bridge, which is the
Laurel Street bridge that starts this weekend.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
Those of you in the Golden trigle.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
Now here in htown downtown, I forty five pierce northbound
at the Ferres Will that's a stalled eighteen wheeler. It's
not a big problem, except it messes you up. If
you're trying to merge onto it in east, it's easier
just to take the east text. Let's check some ship
channel bridges at five point fifty and the Generator Supercenter
dot Com traffic.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Center from r KTRH Generator Supercenter, twenty four hour weather Center.
I think we got our communications issue fixed. Jeff Barr,
Are you there, Alin, Jeff, Ah, he is there, very good.
All right, We have some stormy weather predicted for today.
What is your thinking about timing? Yeah, time is going
to be mid to late afternoon. That's when the storms
are rolled through. May produce some damaging win guests. We
also the threat for some heavy downpour today. This is
(30:02):
all I had been approaching cold front, So after a
pretty calm start in the morning, during the afternoon, that's
when the front gets closer, producing these showers and strong storms.
The high day around eighty six, another round of showers
and strong storms into the evening. Overnight, the Lohau dropped
down to sixty eight, little bit cooler Tomorrow, still a
few scattered thunderstorms to dodge a high of eighty two,
and then dryer weather behind the front on Sunday with
sunshine and a high eventually hitting eighty one degrees right
(30:24):
now sixty eight. At your official severe weather station, news
radio seven forty KTRH, you learn about all this shoplifting
going on in the heights at Lululemon. They've been hit
like fifty one times in the last six months, fifty
one times, so much so that evidently the staff they're
(30:45):
just oh hi, Basically, it's just no big deal anymore.
KPRC two's Amy Davis did a report on it is
really quite amazing.
Speaker 37 (30:55):
Bold brazen thieves targeting Lululemon stores all over Hughes and
customers have had enough.
Speaker 38 (31:02):
For an employee to tell us it doesn't last that long.
They're not violent, just hang out for a minute. Normalizing
that is just insanity to me.
Speaker 37 (31:10):
I mean why Jess Schindler says she was trapped in
this Height store in February when five men barged inside.
Speaker 38 (31:16):
Somebody got knocked over that was right in their pathway.
And they have these large trash bags and they were
just shoveling as much merchandise as possible.
Speaker 37 (31:25):
They're called Lulu boosters, selling stolen goods on social media
from these stores to your Facebook feed. The organized retail
theft is easy to track. Is that putting a strain
on resources for.
Speaker 39 (31:37):
HPD Yes, ma'am, it's a lot on calls for service.
Speaker 13 (31:40):
Check it out.
Speaker 37 (31:41):
In just six months at the Height store, the Rice
Village and the City Center Lululemon locations, flash mob shoplifters
struck fifty one times. On January fourth, thieves stole two
hundred and ten pairs of leggings we're twenty one thousand
dollars from the Rice Village location. One hour later, a
group took eighteen thousand dollars worth of clothes from the
(32:02):
City Center store.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
And reports show on.
Speaker 37 (32:04):
January eighteenth, thieves return to the Heights location three times
at one o two pm, again at three twelve, and
a third time at four to ten, a more than
ten thousand dollars day for thieves who simply walked out.
Do you think there's something Lululemon could be doing to
prevent these.
Speaker 39 (32:22):
Crimes from what we've seen at other department stores, is
they have some form of security, either inside the store
or outside the store.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Lululimen doesn't really have that, not that I've seen.
Speaker 16 (32:32):
Noe.
Speaker 39 (32:32):
Have you asked why.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
I have, but I have not gotten an answer.
Speaker 37 (32:37):
Yet, when we reached out to Lululemon, a spokesperson sent
us this statement that explained the company does use on
site security in some stores across the country and that
they are continually assessing and updating their security measures.
Speaker 38 (32:50):
Why have everybody that works here so calm about this.
It's like they're you know, they've acclimated to this environment.
Speaker 37 (32:59):
And HP the officer, Mike Medina, says, the shoplifters he's
arrested with the stolen Lulu clothing are acclimating too.
Speaker 39 (33:06):
They have said in the past that they're just going
to get out and do the same thing.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
Yeah, they have no fear of judges here in Houston,
they have no fear of punishment. And how can Lululemon
forty lose eighteen twenty thousand dollars at a crack and
get robbed fifty one times and still be in business.
That's what I'd like to know, five to fifty one
time for traffic and whether together.
Speaker 4 (33:28):
Those flash mobs to a little donut shop on the
southeast side.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Oh yes, guy, Mike, I think prob Yeah, I think
you're right about that. Downtown.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
Let's do some forty five pier salivated Mark from Spring.
Speaker 40 (33:40):
Forty five and two eighty eight. They're all clear, and
everybody on the fear SULIVATD cleared out. Everybody's driving like mariolland.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Driving like Mario Andretti. Mark from Spring is here all week.
That's a banana sticker on your briefcase. Mark, thank you.
I'm in the Generator Supercenter dot com Traffic center.

(34:22):

Speaker 5 (34:23):

Speaker 3 (34:53):
Fourth of July is not that far away, and by
the fourth of July sent the Majority Leader John Thune
wants to to send that big, beautiful bill to President
Trump to sign. He wants to have it on his
desk by the fourth of July. Nick Lindquist joins as
political strategist. You know, I always I always knew that
Congress acted slowly, Nick, But you you don't realize just
(35:17):
how slowly they act until you see how fast Trump acts.
Speaker 41 (35:21):
Oh absolutely, I mean this bill and members of Congress
are still saying they're not sure it's going to be
done by fourth of July. Like there, they move at
a glacial pace, especially when it comes to budgets, and
especially with what Donald Trump wants to do at the budget.
A lot of them are not going to like that,
but they need to do it well.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
And if they don't get it done by the fourth
of July, that doesn't bode well for the economy, does it. No,
not at all.
Speaker 41 (35:49):
I think I think a lot of a lot of
the volatility with the economy right now is due to
just uncertainty about what the federal government's going to do
with its money. So you know this, this really does
need to happen on an expedited track. But I guess
you know, I think I think a big problem with this.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
Is going to be the House.
Speaker 41 (36:12):
There's a handful of House members with concerns about some
of the cuts, and a lot of them are in
you know, your your usual suspects states, the moderate uh,
sort of blue states with with Republican members in it.
New York, Yes, yes, I mean your your usual suspects
(36:33):
basically New York and California. They're all concerned about Medicaid cuts.
And then the EPA cuts is from from what I
understand here.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
Here's what well, here's the part of that I don't understand,
and maybe you can explain it to us, and that
is what cuts are they fearful of, because the I
think the President has been pretty clear there's no benefit
cuts coming where they're correct. They're cutting fraud, they're cutting waste,
they're cutting abuse, and nobody can make a sane argument
that there isn't plenty of that in virtually every department
run by the federal government.
Speaker 41 (37:05):
Yes, yes, that is a good point. So yes, Donald
Trump has said there are no benefits cuts coming. But
you know what, these members are still going to make
excuses because unfortunately, the budget process has been mismanaged for
so many decades that it's basically treated as a like
a festival where each member gets their little piece of
(37:25):
the pie so they can bring it back to their
district and say they spent this money on the district
and you know this this time around and going forward,
they just can't do that anymore. We don't even have
we can't afford that. So I think that's the main
issue is they're they're not getting their little slice of
the Their slice of the pie is smaller. Now there's
(37:47):
you know, research grant cuts which could affect a lot
of districts if if, for example, uh an NGO operates
out of that district and they were.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
Getting that money.
Speaker 41 (38:00):
You know, seeing things like that, I think is the
real issue. And they're gonna blame uh They're gonna blame
Medicaid somehow, and it's it's just ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
No doubt about it, all right, but they bear come
through this time though, Neick, Thank you, appreciated political strategist
Nick linn Quist five point fifty six now here in

In our top story, it's about managing people.
Speaker 26 (39:57):
It's about assigning people to the right roles, as the
pro has just done.
Speaker 5 (40:01):
State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce, reacting as President Trump nominates
Michael Waltz to be the next ambassador to the UN.
That means he is out as National Security Advisor, and
the White House calls it a promotion.
Speaker 13 (40:15):
So who replaces Waltz?
Speaker 5 (40:17):
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who tells ktrchs Sean Hannity,
Ending the war in Europe is.
Speaker 13 (40:23):
At the top of his to do list.
Speaker 6 (40:24):
We kind of can see what it would take for
Ukraine to stop. We can see what it would take
for the Russians to stop. The problem is those two
positions are still a little.
Speaker 5 (40:33):
Far apart, and Rubio was with k trh's Sean Hannity
last night. Of course, there is Iran. The latest talks
between the US and Tehran over nuclear aspirations are on
hold for now, with Texas Senator Ted Cruz saying Trump
has handled the situation perfectly.
Speaker 8 (40:50):
The most important national security decision he made his first
term was pulling out of the disastrous Iran nuclear deal.
Speaker 5 (40:58):
The President is now threatening sanctions against anyone who buys
oil from the Iranians. Six point two now ask for
domestic policy. Elon Musk is preparing to leave DOGE, but
he told Jesse Waters on Fox exactly what he's learned
about waste and fraud during his time with the Trump administration.
Speaker 9 (41:16):
Generally, the fraud starts outs fall and they try to
hide it, but then year after year, if nobody stops
the fraud, it gets more and more brazen.
Speaker 5 (41:24):
According to its website, Doze to saved nine hundred and
ninety three dollars per taxpayer. Republicans are trying to stop
the Trump tax cuts from ending later this year, but
Texas Congressmanship Roy says he won't sign off on it
unless there are more spending cuts.
Speaker 10 (41:40):
My position on the big beautiful bills, my message to
Republicans says is do your job. Do what the President
campaigned on.
Speaker 5 (41:46):
Republicans wanted this done originally by Memorial Day. Now they're
targeting Independence Day, but that may not go down the
way Speaker Mike Johnson is hoping for. Thanks to the
budget hawks like Roy.
Speaker 12 (41:58):
It doesn't seem like that House is being realistic about
their own bill, what the timeline for putting that together is,
and also what is going to happen to that bill.
Speaker 16 (42:07):
Once it has to go up against the Senate version.
Speaker 13 (42:10):
That's aid.
Speaker 5 (42:11):
Political analyst Chris Johnson thinks House leadership does have a plan.
Six h three eight Trump nominated federal judge blocks the
White House from deporting alleged Venezuelan gang members from Texas
under the Alien Enemies Act. In the ruling, Judge Fernando
Rodriguez Junior said the White House's use of the law
quote exceeds the scope of what it was intended for
(42:34):
the Left has had no problem with judges when they're
going after President Trump. But now the two were arrested
for hiding illegal aliens, it's a different story. It's he
had another example of rules for thee but.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
Not for me.
Speaker 42 (42:48):
Oh, you guys wrote the book.
Speaker 14 (42:50):
We're just following the rules you've set forth, the rules
with which you have absolutely no problem.
Speaker 35 (42:55):
That is host and writer for PJ Media, Victoria Taft.
Speaker 14 (43:00):
They started it, and until they start feeling the effects
of their own rules, you got to do it. Because
they won't stop until they're hurt. They won't stop until
somebody's in jail.
Speaker 35 (43:09):
Which will hopefully happen next. Juff Biggs News Radio seven

Meantime Borders our Tom Holman says the two judges that
are in jail may not be the only ones who
wind up there.
Speaker 16 (43:22):
Wait to see what's coming.
Speaker 17 (43:23):
I'me met what I say.
Speaker 5 (43:25):
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has told state officials not to
cooperate with ICE in Austin. Some House republicans are sounding
the alarm that several immigration related bills have yet to
be passed.
Speaker 43 (43:37):
You verify banning instate tuition for illegal aliens, requiring local
law enforcement to work with the Trump administration to identify
and deport criminal legal aliens.
Speaker 5 (43:47):
State Representative Mike Alcott only everify has made it to
the House.
Speaker 13 (43:52):
It's now six zero five.
Speaker 5 (43:53):
A local judge nets not soft on crime, taking a
stand as bond is said for the paroled killer charged
with robbing and beating up an eighty one year old
woman at a million dollars. Yesterday, thirty illegal game rooms
were busted recently in Houston, with the FEDS reportedly finding
that one third of them had already been rated at
(44:14):
least once before. Les Bernauld W's Stop Predatory Gambling says
the Texas Lottery has encouraged this behavior and it needs
to be stopped.
Speaker 19 (44:22):
And underscores how much the Texas Lottery has been an
epic the public policy failure because it's spilling over now
into so called illegal gambling. But the gambling has been
normalized thanks to the Texas Lottery, So the cycle continues.
So that you want to address the illegal gambling in Houston,
it starts with going after the Texas Lottery.
Speaker 13 (44:38):
He says.
Speaker 5 (44:39):
The lottery has become predatory in Texans needs to speak up.
For the first time in about a decade, the Metro
Police Department is fully staffed and they're actually looking ahead
to expand next year in time for the FIFA World Cup.
Speaker 20 (44:53):
Being up the staff and definitely going to help because
not only do we have that to take care of
the mobility within the city of Houston getting pe around,
but we also have out in the districts where the
buses are and everything else.
Speaker 5 (45:05):
Robert Smith with the Metro Police Officers Union says it's
extremely rare for any department to be at one hundred
percent staffing, especially a large one like Metro Police. Meantime,
HPD still has a staff shortage of some twelve hundred positions.
Coming up on six h seven, the Rockets visit the
Warriors for Game six Do or Die of their playoff series,

needing a win to keep their season going. Covered starts

I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news weather in traffic station
is Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 2 (45:39):
Stay in touch on your drive in with Jimmy Barrett
and the Houston Morning news team.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
You know, I don't think I don't think about turkey
legs that often, you know, Thanksgiving beautiful. When I was
a kid, I used to used to love to claim
one of the turkey legs. Maybe a Renaissance festival on
the rare occasion I might go to that. I mean,
that seems appropriate, right to be gnawed on a turkey
(46:08):
leg at a Renaissance festival or some other mid medieval
type of if that's a very medieval thing to do,
to gnaw on a turkey leg. Rest of the time,
I wouldn't think much about, you know, stopping off somewhere
and getting a turkey leg. Although while it was around,
the Turkey Leg Hut here in Houston seemed to do
pretty good business. And I think maybe I figured out
(46:29):
why that is because, as it turns out, the guy
who ran, you know, the guy who owned it, the
Turkey Leg Hut, turns out that he's got a rather
interesting criminal background, Lindell Price. First of all, he's been
charged with arson related to the twenty twenty explosion at
(46:51):
Bar fifty to fifteen, and other things are coming out
as a result of that court case, including as it
turns out that the dude was selling drugs out of
the Turkey Hut, or at least he was storing him there.
He had he'd have truckloads of marijuana, three different, three
different varieties that he would be you know, he stashed
(47:12):
in a trailer that he'd brought from California and it
was there at the Turkey leg Hut facility. Now, I
don't know if he was, you know, selling any marijuana directly,
you know, with the turkey legs, although you know that
actually seems like a fairly good idea for selling turkey legs.
(47:35):
You know, marijuana, I'm told I wouldn't personally know anything
about it, but I'm told that marijuana can give you
the monkeys in the monkeys of course, being that you know,
you just kind of crave eating things that you wouldn't
normally eat. So I would think that if you used
enough marijuana, you know, kind of like a seasoning like
I don't know, like basil or or or or or
(47:59):
parsley or some other kind of seasoning that you would
put on the turkey leg I would think that, you know,
eating a turkey leg seasoned with marijuana, might you know,
make you crave more turkey legs I'm not sure how
that all works six ten times for traffic and weather together.
Speaker 4 (48:15):
It's my friends from high school. Yeah, you know I
hung around with the heads. I don't know if that's
probable cause for me. I think the statue of limitations
is fast. To a nice guy, Mike, I think you're fine.
No licks for me. Let's go North Sam. Hope they
cleared the stalled eighteen wheeler. That's good westbound. Now you
still have the constructions.
Speaker 3 (48:33):
Munch.
Speaker 4 (48:33):
This is North Sam westbound at the Hardy plus behind
it that roadwork at Aldi Westfield. And just keep a
close eye out for other stations listeners that don't know
about the squeeze down.
Speaker 3 (48:43):
If they're coming from JFK.
Speaker 4 (48:45):
You could take my secret hack, which is the Hardy
Airport connector just don't tell anybody about it. Forty five
downtown Kelly from Lamark.
Speaker 44 (48:53):
If I might just pass to be someone bridge on
forty five heading north, they're the semi in the right

Speaker 3 (49:04):
Is that a second problem here? This is second problem?
Speaker 4 (49:08):
Yeah, downtown, because you had the one by the fairest
wheel now by the bridge. See we've got all these
markers here. Neither one of these are really blocking the
main lane. Watch that one by the fairest wheel though,
because that's affecting the merge if you're trying to get
onto it.
Speaker 3 (49:21):
In east.
Speaker 4 (49:21):
Of course, you have the roadwork. It's not just a project.

Yeah, we are, especially as we headed to the gampter

approaching coal front that may result in not only some
heavy rain fall times, but the threat for a few
severe thunderstorms later today and during the evening. The high

I kind of prematurely mentioned that we were going to
talk on this topic here, and it's almost time to
do it. Matt Kittle will join us in just a
couple of minutes, Senior election correspondent at the Federalist. About
outlaw judges. You know, some people call them activist judges.
I think I think maybe outlaw judges would be a
(50:59):
more or appropriate thing to call them. More on that
coming up first, though, we've got traffic and weather together
as we check out the drive once again with Skymine, a.

Speaker 3 (52:33):
Think these our law judges, think that they are definitely
the law, the federal law they have, they have these
activist judges. If I just completely taken over when it
comes to just about anything you can foreign policy. I mean,
you know this, this whole thing about bringing this MS
(52:54):
thirteen gang member back from El Salvador. What a great example.
Everybody's talking about due process. What process do we give
a citizen from El Salvador who's in this country illegally?
Six twenty two, our time, Matt Kittle joins US senior
election correspondent at the Federalist. I mean, there's no doubt
mab what's going on with these these outlaw judges. The
question is what do we do about it?
Speaker 42 (53:15):
Yeah, that is absolutely correct. I mean you look from Wisconsin,
Milwaukee County. Just a week ago, we had the arrest
of Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dunbar for effectively aiding and
a betting an a legal immigrant, not just an illegal immigrant, j Iman,
but a violent one at that, a guy accused of
just beating the snot out of the people that he
(53:37):
lived with. And that's the hill that Democrats and these
outlaw judges, as you say, want to die on.
Speaker 3 (53:43):
Apparently, Well, that makes no sense to me because even
the majority of Democrats, the majority progressives, can't possibly support this,
can they.
Speaker 42 (53:55):
Well we talked not too long ago about a study
that showed fifty five percent of people who lean to
the left say it's justifiable to assassinate President Trump or
Elon Musk. So this is where, unfortunately, the divide seems
to be.
Speaker 16 (54:14):
I agree with you.
Speaker 42 (54:15):
I don't think that it is certainly every Democrat out there.
I think there are some common sense, reasonable people who
believe that, you know, we Houston, we have a problem America.
We have a problem here.
Speaker 3 (54:29):
The question becomes, I guess, how do we rain them in?
And who can rein them in? Who holds any sway
or any power over these federal judges? The Supreme Court.
Speaker 42 (54:39):
Yeah, well, at the state level, the case that I
mentioned in Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Supreme Court, which is led
by leftist, recently removed this judge at least temporarily from
the bench while these very serious charges of obstructing justice
go on. Ultimately, it has to be the US Supreme
Court that says you cannot act above the law. When
(55:03):
you do that, you are no longer a judge.
Speaker 3 (55:07):
I guess the question becomes too And I think we've
talked a little bit about this in the past. What
is the territory that a federal judge operates under? Is
a federal judge allowed and again, the Supreme Court, I
guess map's gonna have to weigh in on this. Is
a federal judge allowed to make a ruling that affects
the entire country or are there rulings by nature just
affecting the district or the territory under which they preside.
Speaker 16 (55:33):
Jimmy, the short answer is no.
Speaker 42 (55:34):
And that is a huge area of concern, and it
is an area that was the US Supreme Court going
to have to enter into and it is. I mean,
we're on track to do that, but you know, the
wheels of justice turned slowly. But these national injunctions are
just an absolute, you know, a front.
Speaker 16 (55:55):
To the rule of law.
Speaker 3 (55:58):
Well, and not to mention the fact that they interfere
with the executive branch of the government.
Speaker 42 (56:03):
Yes, I mean this is what the left and these
activist judges have have determined that there is no executive branch.
They we talk about legislating from the bench, they're not
only legislating from the bench, they're executing from the bench.
Speaker 3 (56:19):
That's a fact. Matt Kittle, thank you appreciated, Senior election
correspondent at the Federalist, Matt Kittle, six twenty six Here

As long as I'm president, we will always protect women's sports.
Men will not play in women's sports.

they are quotes evaluating an offer for negotiations, and this

Speaker 46 (01:00:16):
President Trump is personally involved in making sure that these
negotiations serve only one interest, which is the interests of
the United States of America, and we'll end up with
the deal in these cases.
Speaker 5 (01:00:27):
DOAH futures this morning up almost two hundred points after

Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
Don't I go ahead in lower rates.
Speaker 15 (01:00:55):
That's his better reason for him to do it now
than he did last year, where he had absolutely no
reason to lower rate.

The Fed meets next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Speaker 5 (01:01:05):
The April jobs numbers come out at seven point thirty
The economy added two hundred twenty eight thousand jobs in March.
This will be the first hard data we will see
since the President announced tariffs exactly one month ago. Although
trading down once again. It's down twenty seven cents to
fifty eight ninety five a barrel, and crude oil prices
have been dropping after Saudi Arabia indicated that they will
(01:01:28):
not decrease production. This could become an issue for Texas
oil producers.
Speaker 11 (01:01:32):
If prices fall too low, producers will have to start
shutting down their drills.
Speaker 30 (01:01:36):
It is not economic because it costs so much money
to get it out of the ground. All gas producers
will take radies off the markets if prices don't come up.
Speaker 11 (01:01:44):
That's Jay Young, CEO of King Operating Corporation. He says
the ideal price is around seventy to eighty dollars a barrel.
Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
That's ideal in this marketplace.
Speaker 30 (01:01:52):
It supports investment returns for all in gas companies, but
it is also a healthy balance for the economy.
Speaker 11 (01:01:58):
He expects that over the next few months, as the
summer travel season kicks up, prices should settle in that range.

Speaker 16 (01:02:39):
Yes, sir, gotcha?
Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
Okay him.
Speaker 5 (01:02:43):
By the way, we have the entire video on our
X page and on our Facebook page as well. Of
all the lives pushed during the Biden administration, the biggest
one was that the border crisis was unsolvable. Todd Bensman
with the Center for Immigration Studies says Trump proved that
wrong within the first few weeks in office.
Speaker 34 (01:03:03):
Ever, again, did any future administration or the country as
a whole ever buy into that we're just simply powerless
to stop this onslaught at the border.
Speaker 3 (01:03:13):
It's just not true. They just simply had to abide
by the law.
Speaker 5 (01:03:17):
And there's this. This year, we're on pace for the
lowest number of illegal border crossings ever recorded in United
States history. We've got the final numbers from the major
ice operation in Florida last week. More than eleven hundred
illegal aliens were arrested in part of Operation Title Wave.
Speaker 32 (01:03:36):
This is the largest immigration enforcement operation that we've seen
in quite some time throughout the entire country.
Speaker 13 (01:03:44):
Governor Ron DeSantis there six point thirty six.
Speaker 5 (01:03:46):
Texas Governor Greg Abbott will sign school choice into law
tomorrow in Austin. And the National Center for Education Statistics
just put out their report card for twenty twenty four,

states like California, they are rising in poor red states
like Mississippi.
Speaker 36 (01:04:06):
The secret of Mississippi and Louisiana's education of success, It's
really about going back to the basics. Basically, what happened
in California is due to the teachers union influence, California
abandoned the scientific approach to reading.

scores were number one in the nation. The astros who

I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news, weather and traffic station KTRH.
Speaker 2 (01:04:37):
Houston's Morning News continues with Jimmy Barrett.
Speaker 3 (01:04:43):
Yeah, it's called retirement, but if you're a federal government worker,
it's a process in order to retire. I don't know
if any y'all caught the Jesse Waters Show last night,
but he he played an interview that he had done,
a long form interview he did with Elon Muss and
members of the DOGE Board who were talking about the
(01:05:04):
individual things they were working on. One of them talked
about how we have this cave, no seriously, a cave
where we have all these filing cabinets from way back
in the day filled with retirement paperwork for federal workers,
and that it's like a six month or longer process
to retire because we're using a completely antiquated system. So
(01:05:25):
here's a little bit of that conversation.
Speaker 47 (01:05:26):
I took a golf cart through security, down into the
side of a mountain and entered daylight left, and I
entered this whole space of caverns and roads, and we
get to a metal door and I open it up
and there in front of me is a sea of
filing cabinets from the nineteen sixties, and I'm walking around.
It's super shilly. It smells like paper. You know, I
(01:05:50):
realized for as a mine. It's a great mind. It's
secure as well with temperature controlled. And so the question
we're not asked. We're asking is not is is a
good place to sort physical media, which it is.
Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
It's amazing for that.
Speaker 47 (01:06:03):
The question is why are we still using paper in
twenty twenty five. So I brought something to show you
of what's inside.
Speaker 48 (01:06:11):
The mine, I think, and only the normal process for
retirement is it going to be over six months? So
once you file your retirement papers, that's why it takes
six months.
Speaker 16 (01:06:22):
What is it?
Speaker 47 (01:06:23):
So these are replica case folders that people use to
retire from the government, and so these are all compiled
by hand to move around on carts through the mind.
Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
It takes many months to do that.
Speaker 47 (01:06:37):
And this one is a single retirees paper required to
leave the government.
Speaker 48 (01:06:44):
If somebody wants to retire, they can't because it takes
six months to compile the paper and carry the paper
into a mine.
Speaker 16 (01:06:52):
Where it is stored.
Speaker 3 (01:06:54):
And also all the calculations are done by hand.
Speaker 47 (01:06:57):
Everything has twenty twenty five reconcile adjudicated.
Speaker 24 (01:07:00):
This is thicker than the word of the Rings trilogy.
Speaker 47 (01:07:02):
Yeah, and if I under process this, I would rather
do my taxes in the dark than have to go
through this. And so what we're doing is we're bringing
this process online with modern software. And I'm excited to
share that as of tonight, we have twenty five retirees
going through an entirely online retirement process in the government
(01:07:24):
for the very first time.
Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
So what is does doing well, among the many things
it's doing, it is taking the government from in this case,
about nineteen sixty five to twenty twenty five. Seriously, it's
that big of a difference. That's how antiquated most government
systems are, and that's why it takes forever to get
(01:07:46):
anything done. Takes forty time for traffic and weather together.
Music better from nineteen sixty five, though, Well that may
be U s Guymike. But want everybody to smoke? Okay,
well there, you want everybody to have like a beehive
hair do too? I'd like to see some found about
a house dress. Would you like to wear a house dress?
You know it might it might slim me a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:08:05):
Let's go to the north, Sam, I've got now we
have to use the old tip line. Remember on Spaceballs
when the guy went prepared to blah blah blah, and
the guy was like, why don't we always have to prepare?
Why can't we just do it? That's how it is,
fixing things with our it. So we have the old
tip line. Now I'm in trouble.
Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Two eight one two.
Speaker 4 (01:08:23):
One four oh four four Oh, I got you North
Sam right here.
Speaker 49 (01:08:27):
Guy Mike, what's found at Ella accident? Fire departments on scene?
Ninja's on sea and the traffic is a hub up
all the way the Imperial Valley.
Speaker 4 (01:08:38):
So eloquent. Outstanding job, Thank you, Golf Freeway. It's Kevin,
Texas City, guy.
Speaker 26 (01:08:43):
Mike, outbound between five eighteen and League City Parkway, Ninja
with a car and a police officer, a left hand
lane kind of sticking out.
Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
All right, fantastic job. Extra points for the burbage there.
Kevin from Texas City. That's outbound and I've just put
that in your in car navigation while you were talking here.
I'm gonna put it in red so it shows up
because it sounds like he's a real even.
Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
Though it's not a big it's not a.
Speaker 4 (01:09:07):
Big scuffles, it's a hazard, so watch out there. And
a big roadwork in Beaumont. I'm going to talk about
that at the fifty break and the Generator Supercenter dot
Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 3 (01:09:17):
From Katie R. H Generator of super Center, twenty four
hour Wether Center Jeff bar filling in for Terry today
and he's got some storms in the forecast, the coldfronts
getting here. What time do we expect the cold front
to get to Houston.
Speaker 45 (01:09:28):
Yeah, it's going to move through as we make away
from tonight New two tomorrow morning, but ahead of the
front during the middle part of the afternoon, probably about
two or three o'clock until about nine o'clock. That's gonna
be the window that we may experience not only some
heavy rainfalls these storms are all in, but potentially some
severe thunderstorms that may result in some damaging wind gusts.
So keep that in mind for you here to be
out later today. I have eighty six this afternoon, showers
and strong storms this evening. Overnight, the low drops down
(01:09:49):
to sixty eight, little bit cloer tomorrow with a few
scattered thunderstorms as the high.
Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
He's eighty two.
Speaker 45 (01:09:53):
Of the are drying of the weekend on Sunday with
sunshine to look forward to and a high temperature again
in the low.
Speaker 3 (01:09:58):
Eighties, still sixty eight. Did your officials severe weather station?
Here's Radio seven forty k TRH. So I'm asking the
question of the day today at the iHeart Radio app KTRH.
Put us number one on your preset, take a picture
of it, send it to me. Jimmy, j I, M
M Y, Barrett, B A R R E T T.
We're giving away concert tickets. This is last week we're
doing that. So this last chance for you to send
(01:10:20):
me a picture. This last time. I'm going to remind
you to do that. You don't have to do it
right now, especially if you're in the car driving. Do
it when you get to work or when you get home,
or whatever the case may be. And I'll put you
in the running for concert tickets. And you know, we'll
we'll we'll choose a winter Monday random drawing from the
people who entered this week. All right, the talkback question
(01:10:41):
at the iHeart Radio app KTRH. Hit the talkback button.
You get thirty seconds, first name, where you're calling from,
and your response. I was asking a question about quality
of life. What have you done in the last month, year,
two years, five years, ten, years. Whatever it is to
improve the quality of your life, give me something really
really simple, Like you know, you gave up a toxic job,
(01:11:03):
you moved to a house that was more affordable, you
started walking every day, which means you're sleeping better, and
you got a better mood and more energy. Whatever that
little thing might be that you found really improved your
quality of your life. And you might want to pass
along to the rest of our listeners because maybe they
could use that idea. Quit a toxic af job last year.
(01:11:26):
The quality of my life is markedly improved.
Speaker 2 (01:11:28):
There's no reason to be miserable and dread going to work.
You spend most of your life there, so make it
with people that aren't toxic.
Speaker 3 (01:11:38):
Man, I couldn't agree with you more. I mean, if
you wake up in the morning and you actually like
what you do and like where you're going, it's not
a job anymore. What else, Kitty in the city.
Speaker 50 (01:11:48):
A couple of things that have improved the quality of
my life. Having flowers all the time, fresh flowers all
the time, when I wake up in the morning, saying
thank you God for giving me another day, giving me
another chance to get it right.
Speaker 30 (01:12:02):
And.
Speaker 50 (01:12:04):
Trying to adapt the mentality of everything happens for a reason.
I get on the road late for whatever reason.
Speaker 51 (01:12:10):
Everything happens for a reason.
Speaker 3 (01:12:12):
I agree with that. I don't know why everything happens
for a reason, but I do believe there's a reason
behind it. There's no no such thing in life as coincidence.

The media, that's what the media is all about. Kick
them with up, kick them with they're down, especially if
it's something to do with Donald Trump and the Trump administration.
Steven Miller, who's one of the President's advisors, has quite
frankly had enough of the media, especially when it comes
to covering this L. Salvadorian citizen, this MS thirteen gang member,
(01:14:47):
this this wife beater who got deported to L. Salvador,
that the media just seems to insist we need to
bring back where's the due process. Here's what Steven Miller
has to say about all this.
Speaker 46 (01:14:58):
Respect of the case that you mentioned, there's not even
been more evidence that has been made public of this
person's violent, repeated threats and assaults against his spouse, someone
who had repeated documented human trafficking and human smuggling offenses.
(01:15:18):
Somebody that has extensively documented membership in MS thirteen, a
terrorist organization, and of course he had MS thirteen tattooed
on his knuckles. This is a person that was a
clear and present danger to the safety of the American people.
And it is a sad reflection on the state of
our media and many of the outlets represented in this
(01:15:40):
room that you obsessively try to shill for this MS
thirteen terrorists. Will no coverage occurred in your papers about
any of the Americans that were raped and tortured and
murdered by the illegals that Biden was importing into our country.
You know, you talk about process. The Body of Administration
(01:16:02):
made the decision to give extensive due process to two
Trained Aragua terrorists that were apprehended at the border.
Speaker 3 (01:16:12):
Just a couple of years ago. They were two.
Speaker 46 (01:16:14):
Gentlemen, they were from Venezuela.
Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
There were members of Trained Aragua.
Speaker 46 (01:16:18):
The Body of Administration Border Baschal apprehended them and made
the decision to provide them with extensive due process, put
them onto a program on a supervised release, and put
them on inkle monitors so they could go through a
lengthy legal judicial determination as to whether these legal aliens
who had just put on US soil might want to
(01:16:41):
live in the United States for the rest of their lives.
Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
What was the result of that decision.
Speaker 24 (01:16:46):
What was the result of that choice that was made?
Speaker 46 (01:16:48):
Those two men kidnapped a young girl named Joscelyn Hungary
from her family. They beat her, they sexually assaulted her,
they tortured her her, they murder her, and they dumped
her body. That is what the body of the administration's
policy was.
Speaker 3 (01:17:06):
And of course the media is there with their mouth
wide open, is if somehow they're hearing all this for
the first time. But you know as well as I do,
come today, they'll be asking the same questions, the very
same questions. But well, said Steven Miller, All right, time
for the timeline. What we have today. We have some

The question here is who's the only leader in the

The Waltz situation does.
Speaker 5 (01:21:09):
Not seem to be the firing that the mainstream media
was telling you it was.
Speaker 3 (01:21:13):
You could argue that he just got a promotion.
Speaker 7 (01:21:16):
So President Trump doesn't want him as the National Security
Advisor anymore. Instead, he's putting him up for Senate confirmation
as the US Ambassador to the UN, and Waltz said,
I'm deeply honored to continue my service to President Trump.
Speaker 5 (01:21:29):
Peter Doocey reporting there, Rubio will also have to deal
with Iran, as the latest nuclear talks have been postponed,
President Trump threatening sanctions on anyone buying oil from Tehran.
Speaker 8 (01:21:40):
President Trump is exactly right going back and saying we're
going back to maximum pressure. We're going to cut off
the money, and we're going to cut off the funds.

but deep, deep, deep into the future.
Speaker 3 (01:22:13):
You're talking about like your great grandchildren.
Speaker 9 (01:22:15):
Like for the birthday, I think it was like twenty
one to sixty five, So more than essentially from now.
Speaker 5 (01:22:22):
DOJA saved and estimated one hundred and sixty billion dollars
in just a little over one hundred days. Republicans are
trying to make the Trump tax cuts from twenty seventeen permanent,
but some like Texas's Chip Roy, have conditions.
Speaker 10 (01:22:36):
I'm for the tax cuts, but only if it comes
with the spending cuts.
Speaker 5 (01:22:40):
The goal is for the bill to be on Trump's
desk by July fourth. Now, GOP leadership originally hope to
have this done by Memorial Day, So.
Speaker 11 (01:22:48):
Will Congress actually be able to pass it by July
fourth like the Trump team wants.
Speaker 12 (01:22:52):
On the Senate side, I think it's much more likely
that they meet that deadline. There's a lot more agreement
within the Senate Republican caucaus.
Speaker 3 (01:22:59):
On what needs to be in the budget.
Speaker 11 (01:23:01):
Chris Johnson with the College Republican says the real difficulty
will be getting it through the more divided House.
Speaker 12 (01:23:06):
They have no real insteative not to just keep arguing

line as possible, especially on a couple of issues where
people are viewing it that the hill we're dying on.

has blocked the administration from deporting alleged Venezuelan gang members
from Texas under the Alien Enemies Act. US District Court
judge Fernando Rodriguez Junior said the White House exceeded the
scope of the statute. As the left continues to cry
about the arrests of two activist judges for hiding illegal aliens,
(01:23:45):
Victoria of Taft of PJ Media points out, it's just
part of the rules.
Speaker 14 (01:23:50):
If you want to treat us this way, let's see
how it works out when we treat you the same way.
That was my proposal. Hey man, we didn't write the
rule book about what should happened to those two outlaw judges.
Speaker 3 (01:24:01):
You did.
Speaker 14 (01:24:02):
Now, let's see how you like it.

You can you cross. You cannot support what we're doing,
and you can support sang shory cities.
Speaker 16 (01:24:19):
That's what you want to do.

A local judge finally takes a stand on crime, Judge
Emily Muno's di Toto setting bond for that parole teenage
killer paroled again, I should say, charged with robbing and
then beating up an eighty one year old woman last

thirty illegal game rooms in Houston reportedly finds that many

of them have been rated before and.
Speaker 18 (01:24:53):
It all connects to the controversial Texas lottery.
Speaker 19 (01:24:56):
When government gets into the gambling business, law enforcement begins
to see illegal gambling less as an issue for criminality
and war as a revenue issue.
Speaker 18 (01:25:06):
Les Bernal of Stop Predatory Gambling says it's encouraged more
illegal gambling, and Item one needs to be holding the
lottery accountable.
Speaker 19 (01:25:13):
You start going after the predatory forms of gambling that
Texas Lottery sponsors.
Speaker 3 (01:25:17):
It helps to.
Speaker 19 (01:25:18):
Denormalize these other forms of gambling that you're seeing pop

Definitely a big deal, and with the way needs are

and very hard for a department to ever be at
one hundred percent staff, especially at larger agency like ours.

See here things things that might make you happy. Winning
the lottery. Have you ever won the lottery? No, me, neither.
How about publishers Clearinghouse winning the public the big grand prize?
You could be you could already be a winner. Well.
The Federal Trade Commission announced two days ago the Publisher's
(01:26:32):
Clearinghouse has agreed to pay eighteen point five million dollars
to customers who were quote unquote harmed by misleading claims
made by the company. In the press release from the FTC,
the agency said the Publisher's Clearinghouse had targeted older and
lower income customers.
Speaker 41 (01:26:50):
HM.
Speaker 3 (01:26:51):
Why would you target old people? Is it because they
are so trusting and so oh naive? I've never really
understood that. Why that happens? I know it happens, I
just wonder why it happens. What is it about us
as we get old that all of a sudden we
(01:27:15):
forget all of our life's lessons that we've already learned
and start trusting people we should not trust. Is it
just feeling feeble or vulnerable? I don't get it, but anyway,
that's what they're saying. They targeted older and lower income customers,
deceiving them into thinking either that consumers could not enter
into the sweepstakes without purchasing a product or had their
(01:27:36):
chances of winning would be increased by purchasing products. See,
they can't do if they probably would like to do that,
but they can't do that because then they become a lottery.
And a lottery you have to have three things to
be a lottery, prize, consideration, and chance. So you can't
force people to buy something in order to enter the
Publisher's Clearinghouse contest because that would be consideration. The prize
(01:28:01):
of the chance part are five just like you can't
give you know, only allow people who are buying something
to potentially win the grand prize because the same thing
it would break lottery rules. The only the only, the
only one that's allowed to have a lottery is the
government as usual. There's a government exception for them. So
(01:28:26):
they're going to give out eighteen point five million people.
Checks will be set to two hundred and eighty one
twenty four affected Publishers Clearinghouse consumers within the next ninety days.
I have no idea who those are. I have never
once entered the Publisher's Clearinghouse contest. I'm pleased to say
seven ten time for traffic and weather together. Sky Mike
(01:28:46):
is here.
Speaker 4 (01:28:47):
No, it's downtown. No purchase necessary, void were prohibited. Forty
five norths Audrey from Cyprus has confirmed there are two
different eighteen wheelers stalled. You have the one by the
ferris wheel northbound and that's over on the side, look
like they've just aboutten ninjured him.
Speaker 3 (01:29:01):
And then at the be Someone Bridge you've got something.
Speaker 4 (01:29:04):
This is after the merge where iten flips off to
hit forty five northbound and you got something over on
the side there that's causing a scooch on both your
freeways too. As Ien coming after you, of h you're
getting ready for a wall o breaks. I think it's
more about the road work at Studamon and then also
forty five the Pierce is pretty pierced up northbound, and
(01:29:24):
then southbound you've got the Dallas Street squeeze, so either
way we're all tangled up east text elevated. It's pretty
nasty too, from equipment down to Texas Avenue and right
around the Discovery Green we're looking at an next thra
eight minutes that way north Loop six ten we're getting
squeezed down forty five westbound backed up from the east text,
you've got that big nasty problem on a Grand Parkway.
(01:29:46):
Nothing good's happening there in the feeder at forty five north.
Stay on the mainlanes, you want to know there's a problem.
And nineteen sixty. Anytime we get something at nineteen sixty
and two ninety, it's this is nothing you want to
be a part of. That's eastbound. So watch out here.
Let's check your ship channel bridges. At the seven twenty break,
I'm Skymike on the USA Rvresorts dot Com Traffic Center

from r KTRHTP Tax Defenders twenty four hour Weather Center.
Speaker 3 (01:30:09):
We've got little substitution today. Terry is off to Alabama
for her daughter's graduation. Jeff Mahr is in for her
and he's keeping an eye on the radar because there's
some storms coming. Yeah.
Speaker 45 (01:30:22):
Right now, we've got a cluster of thunderstorm as well
to the south out in the Gulf, and a large
cluster along the Red River as we look ahead up
there into southern Oklahoma.
Speaker 3 (01:30:30):
That's where the strong storms are right now.
Speaker 45 (01:30:31):
But we have a cold front on the way in
and that front is going to bring in some showers
and storms for us. Looks like the highest risk for
strong to severe thunderstorms mid afternoon, about two or three
o'clock until about nine or ten o'clock this evening. And
as far as our high today, I should hit eighty
six with winds out of the south, with these thunderstorms
rolling in more rain tonight down to sixty eight. Scatterstorm Saturday,
a high of eighty two, but a dry Sunday with

there to talk about all the waste and fraud that
they have found. Here's a little bit of that conversation.
(01:31:16):
He brings up Treasury, the Treasury Department, and of course
the Education Department. A lot of great work in the
Treasury this week.
Speaker 53 (01:31:23):
One of the crazy things with regards to the Treasury
is that when a payment is made and the computers
at the Treasury actually paid but five trillion dollars per year,
like crazy amounts. There was formerly not a budget code
on there, so if payment was made, you didn't.
Speaker 16 (01:31:40):
Know actually what it was for.
Speaker 3 (01:31:41):
It could have been for anything.
Speaker 53 (01:31:43):
There was a four billion dollar COVID fund in the
Department of Education and.
Speaker 3 (01:31:48):
There was no receipts required, so people who just drawed
down on it. And when people looked into it.
Speaker 53 (01:31:52):
This wasn't justice Before us, they found that money was
being used to rent out Caesar's palace for parties, rent
out stadiums, et cetera. And so the one change that
DOGE made with our education is we had the simple
requirement that if you draw down money, you must first
upload a receipt.
Speaker 3 (01:32:09):
That was the only change that was made.
Speaker 53 (01:32:10):
You must upload your receipt, and upon doing so, nobody
drew down any money anymore.
Speaker 24 (01:32:15):
Yes, but we didn't say that we'd check the receipt.
Speaker 9 (01:32:18):
You could send a fake receipt, you could send a

were like, oh.
Speaker 16 (01:32:33):
We don't need it anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:32:34):
Oh, that's interesting. They were renting Caesar's palace.
Speaker 9 (01:32:38):
Yes, they were like basically partying on the texture of money.
Speaker 3 (01:32:41):
Yeah, four billion dollars worth of again COVID money. They
were using the education bar was using the party and
the moment you said, well, all you have to get
the money is upload a receipt. It all stopped seven
twenty time for traffic and leather together, just short mode.
Speaker 4 (01:32:57):
Yes, sky Mine, I got too bad wrecks here Grant Parkway,

kind of price before, Jay, what's driving the price down
right now?
Speaker 16 (01:34:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 30 (01:34:45):
Well, I mean there's a lot of all on the
markets right now that you know, Opek and other countries
have have you know, pulled the markets right now, so
we're we're seeing a little bit of a glut, if
you will. And I'm also going to talk about the uncertainty.
I mean this word that you know, it just keeps
coming up every time you turn on the TV or
(01:35:06):
or you know, read the newspapers. Right now, it seems
like that word, you know, comes up and it's something
that that I never heard of, an uncertainty index, Jimmy.
Speaker 16 (01:35:15):
I don't know, never heard of it until this year.
Speaker 30 (01:35:17):
But uh, there definitely is a lot of uncertainty and
people just just barreled down and not not doing much
and just kind of hang it up. So I'm gonna
see I'm going to say a little bit of an
oversupply from some of the markets. And demand is and
I don't mean overall demand, I mean just our normal
demand right now is coming down. So uh, therefore you've
(01:35:41):
got oil prices that are going to come down, you
know big.
Speaker 16 (01:35:44):
The big question obviously is how long is it going
to stay down?
Speaker 30 (01:35:47):
And I don't I don't if you're gonna stay down
for for much longer.
Speaker 16 (01:35:51):
I don't see it going really high. What do you think?
Speaker 3 (01:35:55):
Well, who knows? I mean, you know better than I.
You're right though, and I mean it always is about
supplying demand. I guess the thing that surprises me is is,
you know, I know there's probably a little lag time
at the pump. I mean, pump prices have remained pretty
city and maybe even have gone up just a little bit.
I know we switched over to the summer blends, but
would you expect, well, would you expect gasoline prices come
(01:36:16):
down a little bit?
Speaker 16 (01:36:18):
Yeah? And that that does happen with the summer blend.
Speaker 30 (01:36:23):
Uh, you know, before we hit we hit the gas pedal,
you know for for summer travel and people traveling, you know,
going on places.
Speaker 16 (01:36:32):
Uh.
Speaker 30 (01:36:32):
When when that happens, obviously demand goes up and you'll
see a lot of the gas that's all the markets
right now be gone and then you'll see you'll see
people going in.
Speaker 16 (01:36:41):
But you know, global demand is still growing. I mean
there's no question about it.
Speaker 30 (01:36:45):
With the data centers and and all the difference. I
mean there's there's there's Billy Bob Thornton or Tommy Norris
on land Man. You know he talks about you know,
oil gas is still huge demand. It powers every one
of the top industries in the world and will continue
to do so.
Speaker 16 (01:37:04):
And as as they grow, oil and gas grows.
Speaker 30 (01:37:07):
And there's no question that we need oil, uh, you know,
for a long period of time, and we're we're not
going to see this, you know, demand go away like
you know during the pandemic, which is a I mean,
we saw the oversupply from OPEC and the demand go
to not zero but pretty close during the pandemic and
(01:37:29):
then all of a sudden it was off. But if
you see and there was a really great, great graft
that we had on one of our webinars this week
talking about you know, once oil and gas companies, you know,
quit drilling, how much production goes down. And as production
goes down, you know, let's let's supply the market demand
(01:37:50):
goes up. You'll see process going back up because of
the shell and I mean s H A L E.
When shell wells, when you quit drilling those shell wells,
production goes down drastically. And that's not good because you'll
see companies that are You'll see companies like you know, Excellon,
(01:38:13):
you know, I just saw them on the CNBC this morning.
You know they'll they'll they'll decrease their recount. Well, as
they're decreasing their recount, that means that that they're taking
a lot of you know, supply off the markets. And
when they do that, you're going to see you know,
I guess the good news about recount in shale oil
and all that is that, you know, you've got an
administration now that is very pro drill, baby drill, So
(01:38:34):
maybe that'll give oil produces a little bit more confidence
going forward.
Speaker 3 (01:38:38):
