Fifteen policies, and over the last year and a half,
every single one of them. She changed to the exact opposite.
Speaker 6 (01:56):
Donald Trump rallying with thousands of supporters Eerie Pencil yesterday
back in Pennsylvania. On Saturday, coming up, he will rally
in Butler, where he was shot by an assassin on
July thirteen, the Pennsylvania speech, caping off a busy weekend
for Trump. He rallied in Wisconsin in Michigan, also attended
the Big Georgia Alabama football game in Tuscaloosa, getting a
(02:19):
standing ovation there at the stadium that was packed, and
taking a shot at VP candidate Tim Walls, the Democrat.
Speaker 7 (02:29):
He was at Michigan today, he got booed out of
the stadium.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Yes, how do you saw the hand that we got?
It was a little bit different.
Speaker 6 (02:36):
Yeah. Trump on with kt Urgus Klay Travis, who interviewed
him while they were at the game. Walls and Trump's
running made Ohio Senator jd Vance debate tomorrow night in
New York. We're going to have that life for you
here on ktrhktuh dot com and the Aheart Radio app.
It begins at seven pm. Walls, like Kamala Harris, has
gotten a free pass on mainstream media, but House majority
(02:59):
whip Tom Emmer says he's about to be exposed.
Speaker 8 (03:04):
He's so good it being this folksy, nice, kind of
down to earth guy until people get to know him
in his policies. He lost it in both of his
gubernatorial races.
Speaker 6 (03:15):
Yeah. Emmer from Minnesota as well, was on ABC this week.
It is now five o three.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
You can put half.
Speaker 9 (03:25):
Of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of
the laurels.
Speaker 10 (03:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (03:29):
She said that Hillary Clinton back in twenty sixteen, and
she's doubling down on it, saying too kind a word
about deplorables. She wrote that in an op ed for
the Washington Post. Democrats they usually dominate the early voting,
but their lead in mail in voting request guess what,
(03:49):
it's shrinking fast.
Speaker 11 (03:52):
This goes to show that the Trump team is doing
something right.
Speaker 12 (03:54):
His campaign is doing the work to get people out
and bank at early vote, and I think it could
be really critical on some of these swings state.
Speaker 11 (04:04):
Former Trump official Neil Chatterjee told k t H. This
is also a sign that Trump could have a huge
victory in November.
Speaker 12 (04:10):
I think the polling has been way off. I think
polsters at Deil a decade later, not figured out how
to accurately poll Donald Trump.
Speaker 11 (04:18):
In the swing state of North Carolina, the Democrat lead
in mail in ballot requests has dropped by fifteen points
and thirty five points in Pennsylvania. Ethan Buchanan News Radio
seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 6 (04:28):
Is South five oh four. Israel continuing to target Hesbela
in Lebanon with an airstrike this weekend that killed the
leader of the group, Hassan Nasralla, the big Dog. The
Israelis also hit the Hoodies in Yemen with air strikes.
We're going to have more in this. At five point thirty,
we've got ninety seven people now dead as a result
of what has become in a poppocalyptic event, Hurricane Helene.
(04:54):
Hundreds of thousands without power here in South Carolina.
Speaker 13 (04:58):
We want people to remain Help is on the way.
Speaker 14 (05:02):
Is just gonna take some time.
Speaker 6 (05:04):
Yeah, that's the governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster there.
He asked his citizens to have patients. Georgia with nearly
six hundred thousand without power, flooding, total chaos, five hundred
thousand in North Carolina. The devastation in that state, in
the western part around Nashville is just unbelievable. The government
(05:24):
didn't react for three to four days, finally managing to
airdrop water into people who had no water. President Joe Biden,
while he's now going to visit yeah, because it looks
really bad. It looks like Katrina. Folks. The White House
said he will do so when he will quote not
disrupt emergency operations, which, by the way, again it took
(05:47):
three days in North Carolina to even get under way. Meantime,
brace again. The National Hurricane Center gives an area of
disturbed weather in the Caribbean now a fifty percent chance
of development over the next seven days. So another tropical
storm perhaps brewing. It take probably a path Gulf of Mexico.
(06:08):
And right now it looks like they're saying Florida again,
five oh six is our time. Expensive groceries already will
guess what. Forty five thousand doc Walker workers may go
and strike tomorrow. The Retail Industry Leaders Association says they
view this strike as quote a self inflicted wound to
(06:29):
the US economy. President Joe Biden says, though he will
not intervene if there's a strike, union contracts expired yesterday.
Lone Starchology economist Sank Louis says it's going to affect
all of us.
Speaker 15 (06:44):
This could actually interrupt the flow of a large amount
of imported goods and material that's shipped from within the
United States as well as from elsewhere around the world.
This could potentially slow down production all over the place.
Speaker 6 (06:56):
In the United States, look for empty shells again, he says.
JP Morgan estimates that take it six days for every
day that the ports are shut down just to clear
the backlog. Ships are already at sea, you know. By
the way, Houston now the largest port for waterborn tonnage
in the US. Car sales they're rising in recent months.
(07:16):
Not all good news. It turns out car repossessions also
on their rise.
Speaker 16 (07:22):
There was no inventory and the dealerships were just able
to put a market adjustment on the cost of the
vehicle and just add an extra sometimes thirty thousand dollars
to the cost of the car.
Speaker 6 (07:34):
Because of demand, art flora Is series and auto industry
expert insurance costs rising on top of overall prices now
making it even harder for people who to make their
high car payments. Five oh seven is our time. The
regular season finale for the Astros was a rainout, so
now begin the Wildcards. Astros hosts the Tigers, managed by
(07:56):
former Astros skipper aj Hinch, in the best of three
Wildcar series, and that begins tomorrow. First Pitch you one

Speaker 11 (08:32):
I take the Beltway sometimes and I also take the
West Park Toll.
Speaker 5 (08:36):
Road KTRH, time saving traffic. Next on the ten, y'all,
remember getting Shirley Temples? You know, when you're trying to
act like an adult when you're a kid and you
got to eat somewhere fancy and mama, mama's getting the grasshopper.
Your mama ever drank grasshoppers? Sure, Friar.
Speaker 6 (08:55):
My mother was not much of a drinker.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
No, neither was mine, which is why she worked for theopers.
Speaker 6 (09:00):
I had an uncle make a grasshopper for me, and
I sare off grasshoppers forever.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
Is that right? Didn't make it so good? Huh No, No,
that's all.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
I was just too young.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
My mom never really drank either. I mean the rare
time they ever saw a drink, that's what you would get.
We'd go to a place called Hobbs restaurant, which is
kind of our version when we were kids of a
fancy place to go eat. It really wasn't that fancy,
but we thought it was fancy.
Speaker 6 (09:24):
They serve grasshoppers, that's it.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
She'd get a grasshopper and we get Churley temples, and
they'd serve the Shirley Temples with a little plastic zoo animal.
They had like monkeys and all sorts of zoo animal
plastic things they put on there, along with a cherry.
That was always such a big deal. Well, seven Up
they're a little late to the party, but seven Up
evidently has decided that they have confirmed, indeed they are
(09:47):
going to produce a Shirley Temple soda, so that you
could now just serve up a Shirley Temple whenever you
want one. You won't have to look for the grenadine.
You won't have to see if you have a Maraschino cherry.
Well you can still grab the cherry, I guess, but
you won't have to worry about the grenadine. It'll already
be mixed up for you. And that's basically all all
of Shirley Temple is is a lemon lime soda with
(10:09):
grenadine or some cherry or cherry juice or some sort
of cherry flavoring. That's it. That's all it is. Now.
The thing that's funny about this is that they took
him this long. I mean, how long have Shirley Temple's
been around seventy eighty years? It took him this long
to go ahead and bottle something seems like a little
(10:30):
late to the party. Do people still order up Shirley
Temples or is that just something for our childhood?
Speaker 6 (10:35):
Well, in Texas it was more Roy Rogers.
Speaker 5 (10:37):
Oh, Roy Rogers. What was in a Roy Rogers?
Speaker 6 (10:39):
It was coke? It was cola based.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Oh okay, rather than a lemon lime. Was there like
a Dale Rogers version a drink?
Speaker 12 (10:46):
Nope?
Speaker 6 (10:47):
Oh had you either had a Shirley Temple or Roy Rodgers?
Speaker 5 (10:51):
Really? Okay?
Speaker 6 (10:51):
So Dale Rodgers like the dark stuff, the hard stuff.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
I'm gonna have to come up with a drink called
the Trigger. What would what would be in the trigger?
I wonder dime for traffic and weather together.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
The street Tarkington, we just went straight to beer par.
Speaker 5 (11:06):
You just want ahead to put a nipple on the
beer bottle the way you go ask I Mike.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
Care we were chewing tobacco, drinking beer. Let's go back
to the canyon. Looks oh oh, Houston trend Star, great
job this morning. Thank you for showing me this Southwest
Freeway to eighty eight. Not only the stall vehicle here
right as you get into the canyon, that's a real
sticky spot here, but also they put it in red.
I'm glad they did that. That'll show up a little
heavier in your in car navigation. I just want you
(11:31):
to pay attention. That's not a good spot to have
a stall. We had a wreck on the North Freeway
a few minutes ago at Airline that was southbound. We're
looking good there. And what is that on it in
downtown show looks like forty five which way we're going.
We're going eastbound. Something's up with that guy? Oh yeah,
it's that it happened so far. The KT looks good.
Hard hats. You're rocking on from Baytown to twenty two
(11:53):
minutes from the Sandracenter River Skylike and the Generator Supercenter,
dot Com Traffic Center from r KT rage top tax
and there's twenty four hour weather.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
Sunday. Time to check in with jeffy Eno do. We
have to keep our eyes on the golf of BNCH
Togo this week, Jeff, that is going to be the case.
Speaker 17 (12:07):
I've seen some of the early models and some things
that I've read saying that this system will make its
way eventually into the Gulf, but it looks like it's
going to be steered a little farther to the east.
That's bad news because it looks like right now, preliminary
kind of indications are that it might hit pretty close
to where Helene hit, and that's obviously not a good
(12:30):
thing at all. We're gonna have to worry more about
the heat this week too. We'll get up to around
ninety five today with sunshine, we've got the air quality alert,
and back in well long ago twenty twenty three, we
hit ninety five.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
That's the record.
Speaker 17 (12:43):
So if we do that today, we tie it tonight
clear overnight low low seventies. Tomorrow we'll do it again sunshine,
high near ninety five, and then Wednesday and Thursday we'll
see low nineties, may see a little bit of rain
by Friday.

Jordan Peterson, He's yes, he is Canadian. He was asked
by Piers Morgan to psycho analyze Trump and also Kamala Harris.
Here is what he had to say about President Trump.
Speaker 18 (15:45):
Independent of Trump's personality, which tends, by the way, to
be a relatively weak predictor of behavior. It's intelligence that's
the best predictor, and then personality. We have a documented
track record. Okay, so what do we know about Trump? Well,
as far as I'm concerned, we know this decent economic performance,
(16:07):
markedly stable international situation, no wars plus and that's something
no wars. Yes, he established the Abraham Accords and they've
held even after October seventh, and everybody in the State
Department told the Trump administration that that was that putting
that agreement together was impossible. Now, of course, it's the
(16:30):
Abraham Accords that have infuriated and frustrated the bad actors
in Iran, and that's pretty much the entire political class
there and fomented October seventh and produced this catastrophe that's unfolding.
But putting that at the feet of Donald Trump is
a very ill advised thing to do. So I would say,
with regards to Trump, well, we know what a Trump.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
Presidency would be like.
Speaker 18 (16:52):
But there's something else to consider it too, because you
might say, well, you know, that was round one and
now it's round two.
Speaker 5 (16:59):
And Trump is old.
Speaker 18 (17:00):
And although I think he's actually modified his behavior to
some degree as a consequence of being beat up so
thoroughly over the last five years, and although he's a
bit defensive, he's also less blustery and more human, which
I think is a big plus. But for me, the
other thing that I've seen really switch that's really been
positive for me is that Trump has told a lot
(17:22):
of hyper powerful people together around him Musk Telsey Gabbard,
Vivak Ramaswamie, Robert F. Kennedy, most of whom would have
been Democrats in anything approximating a saye, in normal world.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
And so you.
Speaker 18 (17:40):
See, my sense is that somebody who's narcissistic impulses are
out of control. Because Trump is a flamboyant and dominating
character who likes the public light. So you think, well,
you know, does he tilt too far in the narcissistic direction.
It's like, well, why would he share the spotlight with
the rest of this crew. And the other thing that
we should consider is that, look, man, I would vote
(18:02):
for Trump if for no other reason than Musk himself
has already agreed had something like a Department of Governmental
Efficiency in the US.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
It's like, oh kay, yeah, nuff.
Speaker 5 (18:13):
Said, all right, sounds like he's a fan. Sounds like
he doesn't believe prop is a narcissist. He just thinks
he's flamboyant. Makes sense. Five twenty six. It is time
to take a look at your money. Happy Monday, Courtney Donahoe.
Speaker 19 (18:27):
Yes, good morning, Jimmy. Well this morning stocks are holding steady.
Futures are a little changed as we wrap up the

Speaker 20 (18:34):

Speaker 19 (18:35):

this pass Friday, a mix finish for stocks at Dow
rose one hundred and thirty eight points, while the S
and P five hundred fella touch shares of Nvidia dropped
on news that China's urging local companies to stay away
from its artificial intelligence chips. Jeepen Chrysler maker Stillantis has
(18:57):
slashed its financial outlook for the year, the maker has
been facing sliding sales in a dated vehicle lineup. Stillantis
plans to dive back production and spend more on promotional
incentives and COSTCO is expecting more deals in higher spending
this holiday season the warehouse chains as shoppers are making
purchases earlier this year. The holiday calendar is a lot
(19:18):
shorter this year due to a late Thanksgiving, further upping
the pressure on retailers. Coordinates on Hope Bloomberg Business on

The onlines are showing a wreck on the KD Freeway
at Shepherd. That's supposed to be in a center lane.
If this thing was there and it was still in
a center lane, it would causing it. It would cause
a much bigger scoots than what we have here. I'm
looking from a three one zero. If you're playing the
home game Heights Boolevard, I don't see nothing looks to
me like the KD Freeway still rocking twenty eight minutes.
We will revisit that at the five point forty break. Also,

Speaker 10 (21:36):
The slide is what is growing, growing by more than
ten points over the last decade.
Speaker 24 (21:42):
To see the nation as divided as it is right
now is a profound disappointment, and it should be by
the way, to every American.

In the presidential campaign, Donald Trump leading Kamala Harrison pulling
in five swing states now Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, and Arizona,
but Harris rallied last night in one of the two states.
The numbers say that she leads barely Nevada.
Speaker 25 (22:17):
Donald Trump take the bill because he thought that that
bill it passed would hurt him and he'd prefer to
run on a problem instead of fixing a problem.
Speaker 6 (22:29):
She's talking about the border there claim not true. She
ignored the fact that the Democrat led Senate as yet
to act on the border security bill that was passed
by the House more than a year ago, which actually
increased security at the border, not throwing money at the
problem and the friends of the problem. There are concerns
that Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina could be swung by projected
(22:51):
one to two million votes by people who aren't citizens.
Fred Lucas or The Daily Caller says that could have
big impact as you.
Speaker 26 (23:00):
Add all those up, just voting age non citizens in
the battleground states, it's more than three million. The one
million to two point seven million in the Just Facts

The Israelis are currently striking the Lebanese capital of Beirut,
and it looks like they've expanded their strikes towards the

Speaker 4 (23:58):
This is a significant development.
Speaker 27 (24:00):
Because the has bel A stronghold is actually in the
Dathhad neighborhood in the south of Beirut. So it shows
the Israelis are going after Hasbla leadership and possibly even
other militant leaders across this city.

General John u tells Fox this stems from the Supreme
Court rejecting the Biden administration's loan forgiveness program.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
President Biden and his age went back.
Speaker 29 (25:32):
And tried to find every little milking cranny.
Speaker 30 (25:35):
They could create somewhat smaller programs to try to cancel
debt efforts to stretch out payments, essentially say we're going
to modify your loans and then you don't have to
really pay anything every month.
Speaker 28 (25:45):
But so far the courts have denied those efforts too,
meaning most loans are now due just as they were
before the pandemic. Coreyolson New's Radio seven forty KTRH.

Postponed eight times. Folks Welken is being taught on our

A and M's going to deactivate thirty eight different certificates
fourteen different miners, including the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and
Queer Studies minor. This after the legislature passed SB seventeen

in Texas banning DEI on college campuses. Did it last year?
Younger students, should they be allowed to have cell phones
in school? Has become an issue and not a simple one.
Speaker 31 (26:27):
We'd need to look more into, like, Okay, where are
those cell phones going?
Speaker 4 (26:30):
Are they going into a locker?
Speaker 5 (26:31):
If we are going.
Speaker 31 (26:32):
To keep cell phones out of the classroom, where and
when will those students have.
Speaker 6 (26:36):

Childcare are rent in some cities in the United States.
Now childcare is now the greater expense. Costs more for
childcare and it does for rent. A couple examples Syracuse,
New York. Average childcare costs one four hundred seventeen dollars
a month. Monthly rent for a two bedroom apartment is
(27:54):
one thousand, one hundred twenty six dollars. In Spokane, Washington,
childcare averages one thousand, five hundred eighty eight a month.
Rent average is thirteen oh four. In Minneapolis, childcare costs
one thousand, seven hundred and sixty seven dollars on average
rent costs sixteen twenty two. You get the idea. It
costs more in a lot of places now to leave
(28:16):
your child to childcare than it does to rent whatever
it is you're living in. Childcare costs have risen two
hundred and twenty percent since nineteen ninety. I mean they're
paying more for everything, just like the rest of us are.
Inflation works that way for for everybody. But the average
household that pays for childcare now spends three hundred and
twenty five dollars a week, or eighteen point six of
(28:38):
its average weekly income. This according to lending Tree, the
average family spends twenty four percent of its household income
on childcare. So what has led to this crazy high
prices when it comes to the childcare industry, Well, a
lot of it. In addition to just regular old inflation.
Remember COVID nineteen remember the pandemic. When we're all told
(29:01):
to stay home. What didn't we need when we were
all told to stay home, we didn't need childcare a
lot of here's another unintended consequence perhaps from the lockdown,
because a lot of childcare industry went out. They went
belly up. They didn't survive it, they had no income
(29:22):
coming in. They shut down. There are fewer childcare now
to rely on. Fewer places to go, means higher prices.
By forty time for traffic and weather together, we're checking
out the drive again. Here's sky Mike.
Speaker 4 (29:33):
We still got that trouble in the canyon, Jimmy. That's

so let's really be careful coming up to eighty eight

not causing any kind of scooch. I almost wish it

Speaker 5 (33:43):
Non citizens voting in the battleground states? How big of
a problem could this be? Joining us to talk about
it is Stephen Camarado, director of research at the Center
for Immigration Studies. Do you have a feel, Stephen, for
how many foreign nationals, non American citizens may be registered
to vote in our battleground states?
Speaker 33 (34:02):
Boy, that's a great question that people have answered, you know,
have been asking for a long time. But the bottom
line is no, we don't. I mean, there has been
some academic research that suggested that non non citizen voting
could be significant, but others have said no, that that
there isn't good evidence of that. So just the bottom
(34:25):
line is we're not sure. What we can say is
there's a lot of non citizens now in the United States.
That includes illegal immigrants as well as you know, legal
immigrants who haven't naturalized, and if and that's a big if,
if they've voted in any kind of significant numbers, yeah,
they could shift some states because the elections are close.
Speaker 6 (34:46):
There is the proof there somewhere.
Speaker 33 (34:52):
Well, it is true that like say, for example, legal immigrants,
we do have names addresses of legal immigrants, and it's
possible that information could be checked against voter registration and
even you know, people who voted lists, and we probably
could answer this question with a certain level of you know,
(35:15):
we could maybe answer the question at least for the
legal non citizens to see if they're voting, but we
don't do that. The other thing is the Census Bureau
every other year after an election does have a survey.
It doesn't asks people, you know, if they're citizens and
if they voted. The thing is that question asks the public,
(35:36):
which is you know, a very very large survey. It
asks the public first whether they're citizens, and if they
say that they're not citizens, then they don't go on
to ask them if they voted. So if they reverse
the order of the question, we might get at this issue,
but they don't do that either. So the bottom line
is it's an open question.
Speaker 5 (35:54):
We just don't know, so the rule of law will
never apply.
Speaker 33 (35:59):
Well, what I would say is there are probably steps
we could take to minimize it and also to study
it more systematically, but we haven't done that, so it's
left with just this big open question. However, at this point,
I think that when you make a claim or someone
makes a claim the non citizen voting is a big deal,
(36:19):
we need to see more proof. At this point we don't.
Speaker 5 (36:22):
Have that proof. You know, I think I can't help.
But wonder how big of a problem proportion bent is
in all of this. I mean states being able to
count non citizens as part of their census, the United
States Census Bureau not asking that important question, and representation
being determined by sheer numbers of population, not based on
whether they're citizens of the United States or not.
Speaker 33 (36:45):
Right now, that's a good point, right So it may
surprise your listeners to know that there's absolutely no question
that say illegal immigrants send their census forums back in
every ten years, and there was something very roughly like
ten million illegal immigrants in the last census. And because
they're not evenly distributed throughout the country, some states do
(37:06):
gain a state like Texas might gain a seat, or California,
and there's analysis is to suggest that, and given the
huge influx of illegal immigrants since twenty twenty one, we
might expect that in the twenty thirty census there's going
to be several more seats that will be distributed by
illegal immigrants and also, yes, several seats that are redistributed
(37:28):
by legal non citizens as well. So you know, the
way the sense of furer works is it tries to
count everyone. So if you're a foreign student, if you're
a guest worker, it's going to try to count you,
just like it tries to count illegal immigrants. Now, whether
those individuals should be counted, that's a different question, but
at present they are at least in significant numbers, and
(37:52):
so it does redistributed seats. There's just no question it does.
Speaker 5 (37:55):
All right, Stephen, Thanks as always appreciated. Steven Camarado, Director

have a strong advantage usually when it comes to early

time around that lead's starting to slip away in some
key swing states.
Speaker 12 (42:20):
I am of the mind that this may not be
that close that we could be looking at an electoral
college blowout for former President Trump.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
Hmmm.
Speaker 6 (42:30):
Former Trump administration official Neil Chatterjee. The Democrat lead in

Speaker 13 (43:28):
We haven't seen anything quite like this before, particularly in
this part of the state. But it is a devastating blow.

But we can make it through.

he's not going to interfere. He's not going to order

in car sales and that's good news, but so are
(45:25):
car repossessions. The consequences of people buying cars at inflated
prices during and after this Bidnomics phase, cars.
Speaker 16 (45:37):
That were marked up, and they have these big, hefty

seven hundred and it's not unusual to have a car

Speaker 6 (45:49):
Yeah, those high car payments haven't been helped at all.

is it that they owe pine, protein, load carbs. Oh, yeah,
it's it's gumbo. It's uh, that's good food. Oh, it's
there's nothing better than Louisiana cuisine, especially in New Orleans.
Speaker 6 (47:23):
Why is it unhealthy? Who says it's got a lot
of fat and sugar? Well the sugar maybe one thing
they you know, yeah, sugar cane. Have you heard of it?
Speaker 5 (47:34):
Well, here's the other thing think of you know, here,
here's the thing Louisiana has going against it. Four point
six million people live in Louisiana. They have four twenty
seven fast food chains. That's a lot of fast food.
And think of the fast food.
Speaker 6 (47:49):
They say it ain't Louisiana.
Speaker 5 (47:51):
Cooking, No, it is no. But also the fast food
is like Popeyes, raisin canes. You know it's it's a
lot of fries, a lot of fried a lot of
fried food. I mean we know that fried food. You
kind kind of watch it on the fried food. The

half the population. The average daily intake of added sugar
seventeen point six teaspoons per person.

Speaker 5 (48:15):
Of that's the other thing. There are number one in
alcohol consumption for the state, two point five to nine
gallons per capita. That's number one. Other southern states showed
up on there as well. We did not in Texas,
we did not make the top ten. Here's the top
ten of unhealthy estates according to that criteria. Louisiana number one,
Mississippi number two, Kentucky number three, Delaware came in fourth,

Ohio fifth, West Virginia sixth. The Alabama seventh, Iowa eighth,
Tennessee ninth, and South Dakota ranked number ten.

Speaker 17 (51:11):
No, definitely, not as far as maybe towards the end
of the work week, maybe a stray shower thunderstorm, but
even then only about a thirty percent chance. We've got
sunshine today, record high setback last year ninety five degrees,
and we are predicted to go to ninety five today tonight,
clear overnight low in the low seventies, upper sixties the
average low, and then look for the sunshine tomorrow right
(51:34):

for both Wednesday and Thursday should be in the upper

You're starting your day right with Houston's morning News, brought
to you by New South Windows Solutions.
Speaker 5 (51:55):
Just about six twenty is our time here in Houston's
boring news. Back in twenty twenty to twenty twenty election,
the Democrats they kind of own mail in voting. But
this this election year is looking different. And if that's
the case, that would be good news for Republicans and
good news for Trump one that story coming up next. First, though,
let's do a little traffic and whether you go clopes please,
(52:15):
this is like they did last time. Let's go to
the canyon.
Speaker 4 (52:17):
We still have this trouble Southwest Freeway. I don't know
why it's still sitting there. It's a really bad spot
for a stall at two eighty eight and nobody's ran
into it, so I guess a lot of people are
listening to us this morning. Southwest Freeway, keep your heads
up after Kirby are in the canyon, and then if
you're coming up to eighty eight, watch out as you're
passing OSG. We still have the stall. I'm not sure
that's the stall. Golf Freeway at the south Loop. That
(52:39):
sure acts like a wreck. We're backed up from airport
and then North Freeway past Shepard, Little York. That's two
right lines. Everybody's okay at this accident, We're still backed
up from West Road. I'm skym Michael the Generator Supercenter dot.

Speaker 21 (53:52):
She is absolutely terrible Your decision twenty twenty four headquarters
is Youth Radio is seven forty.
Speaker 5 (53:59):
KTRH Politics seems to think so. They have an article
about it where how Democrats dominated mail in voting back
in twenty twenty. This is no longer the case, and
Republicans are going to be neck and neck with Democrats
when it comes to mail in voting, and that would
mean probably a better chance of having a whole different
result of this election. Neil chatter j former Trump administration official,
(54:22):
joins us, what do you make of this story? Do
you think there's truth to this, Neil, or do you
think this is wishful thinking on the haalf of Republicans.
Speaker 11 (54:29):
No.
Speaker 32 (54:29):
Look, I think despite the fact that former President Trump
continues to have concerns about early voting and mail in
voting and ballot harvesting and the light, the reality is
his campaign has really focused on not feeding this advantage
to Democrats, and so despite the former president's rhetoric, the
(54:51):
campaign's out there effectively delivering this message and getting folks
in a position to get that vote bank, get that
vote out. And I think, look, it's these are the
rules of the game, and so you got to play it.
And I think Republicans made a mistake in twenty twenty
(55:12):
in seeding some of this ground to Democrats, and they
are definitely curing for it in twenty twenty four.
Speaker 6 (55:19):
You know, we're looking at this damage from this Hurricane Helene,
and you know, you don't want to make it political
because so many people have lost their lives. But those
states are just crippled now, and how in the world
are they going to hold elections, How are they going
to get mail in ballots? Even down I mean the
interstate highways are totally closed.
Speaker 12 (55:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 32 (55:40):
I think we are just now parsing through the devastating
impacts of this. Nearly one hundred people have lost their lives,
billions of dollars in property damage, just to truly truly
devastating effect. And again I agree with you, I'm loath
to bring politics into this, but you have two swing
(56:02):
states in Georgia and North Carolina that were both significantly
impacted by this. The priority needs to be in saving
lives and restoring property damage. And it'll be very interesting
to see, you know, how the Biden administration responds to this.
The President was in Delaware at the beach this weekend.
(56:25):
The Vice president was in California doing fundraisers with movie stars.
It'll be very interesting to see how the current administration
deals with a real tragedy.
Speaker 5 (56:41):
Well, they haven't done much dealing with any of the
previous tragedies. Why would this one be any different.
Speaker 32 (56:48):
Well, you know, we'll see.
Speaker 6 (56:52):
Well, you know, we were very close to Katrina, so
we saw this this picture show before and this is
just devastating what has happened to these guys. So we
got another storm maybe brewing again.
Speaker 32 (57:07):
Yeah, look, I mean this is one of the realities
that we have to contend with, and that is, you know,
extreme weather events and our preparation for them. And so
in my previous role at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission,
I focused on the reliability and the resilience of the.
Speaker 12 (57:23):
Grid that when the power goes out, how quickly can
we get it back up? And sadly, this weekend's hurricane
reminds us again that life is fragile, and you know,
infrastructure can be vulnerable in these types of events, and
we have to have smart preparedness strategies to stay ahead
(57:46):
of them.
Speaker 6 (57:46):
Except the entire country is affected by this.
Speaker 35 (57:51):
It does.
Speaker 32 (57:52):
I mean it's one region that was hit, but make
no mistake, we're all in this together as Americans, and
you are exactly right. It affects the whole country when
when something.
Speaker 8 (58:03):
Like this happens.
Speaker 5 (58:04):

Speaker 6 (01:00:59):
Morning one is now six point thirty two on News
Radio seven forty KTRH. Our top story this hour. How
divided it is America? According to a new Gallup poll,
eighty percent of American adults believe we're greatly divided on
key issues. Political analysts Former Assistant Secretary of State Robert
Charles believes that divide is still growing.
Speaker 23 (01:01:20):
We're in a position right now where we have competing
universes of what is considered fact. We can always disagree
on how to interpret, react to, or correct a fact,
but if we're disagreeing on the facts themselves, we're in
a very bad place.
Speaker 6 (01:01:33):
But Gallup also found that for the first time in decades,
more voters now identify as Republican than Democrat. Donald Trump
leads Kamala Harris and polls from five of the seven
swing states as of just recently as of yesterday, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia,
and Arizona. Harris campaign last night on the one issue
(01:01:55):
that the Democrats believe she leads on three.
Speaker 25 (01:02:00):
Women in America lives in a state with a Trump
abortion band.
Speaker 6 (01:02:05):
Harris in Nevada. No such thing as a Trump abortion ban.
By the way, the Dobs ruling by the US Supreme
Court kicked it out of federal control and sent it
back to the states to decide. Six point thirty three
is our time. According to ICE, more than thirteen thousand
illegal aliens convicted of murder, either here in the US
(01:02:26):
already or another country they're currently freely walking around to
do more crime. Over one million non citizen voters playing
a key role were told across the battleground states in
November non citizens it.
Speaker 36 (01:02:42):
Could swing the swing states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina.
Speaker 26 (01:02:47):
That doesn't mean they all vow. If these states knew
the percentage of nonsystems on the voter els and they
could remove them, they don't.
Speaker 36 (01:02:54):
Fred Lucas of The Daily Callers says the true numbers
not certain yet, just making idea requirement to vote, but
also fix it. But the left doesn't want that.
Speaker 26 (01:03:02):
About eighty one percent of non citizens so Democrat. There
are things that can be done, but there's not always
the political will to do it.
Speaker 5 (01:03:09):
He says.
Speaker 36 (01:03:09):

two million in the end. Andre Perard News Radio seven

presidential debate is tomorrow night between JD. Vance and Tim Walls.
We'll hear that right here live on KTRH, KTRH dot
com and the iHeartRadio app beginning at seven pm. It's
now six thirty four. Israel, they didn't just target Hezbola
in weekend airstrikes that killed the leader of that terror group,
(01:03:39):
Hassan Nasralla.
Speaker 37 (01:03:42):
Israeli air strikes continue inflicting serious damage on several terrorist organizations.
Not only has Belah and also a Hamas leader taken
out overnight in Lebanon along with his family, as well
as three Palestinian militants from a separate organization is Central Bayrout,
an area that had not been hit to this point
of the conflict.
Speaker 6 (01:04:01):
Fox's Nate Foy reporting Joe Biden responded to all this,
calling again for a ceasefire. Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton thinks
Israel should do the exact opposite, expand operations on the ground.
Speaker 37 (01:04:14):
If that's what Israel needs to do to eliminate the
remnants of hesbla's leadership and its arsenal, then yes.
Speaker 6 (01:04:20):
Of course, Cotton was on CBS Face the nation. It's
now six thirty five North Carolina. Some areas, the rural areas,
have gone without food and water for days now. The
roads are totally broken down. This is after the Hurricane
Helene passed through. Part of it a direct result of
the lack of response by that state's Democrat governor. As
(01:04:43):
we say, we've seen that before with Katrina. More than
a million people across the Carolinas. In Georgia have no power,
death toll nearing one hundred. We'll have more at seven am.
Four years of pauses and grace periods, you don't have

Speaker 30 (01:05:16):
Almost every judge that's encountered these new programs, and the

can't cancel student debt, but the Biden administration keeps trying.

Speaker 11 (01:06:14):
There's quite a few different concerns to balance out here.
Speaker 31 (01:06:17):
We all know that cell phones can be a distraction,
But on the other side of the coin, if there's

They need to be able to contact their parents.
Speaker 11 (01:06:25):

Speaker 31 (01:06:31):
I think it's important that the stakeholders, the people that
are paying the taxes, have an input in this situation.
I think it's important to look at it on a

time here in Houston's morning news. Much like Hillary Clinton,
short of a stake through his heart. I'm not quite
sure how we get rid of this guy. He's going
back to the Texas House, and something tells me he's
going to figure out a way to be re elected
(01:07:48):
Speaker of the House.
Speaker 6 (01:07:49):
He's got the Democrats voting for him, no doubt about it.
Speaker 5 (01:07:52):
There's only how he got.
Speaker 6 (01:07:53):
In the first place. He cut all those deals with
the Democrats. That's why he's stymied all their legislation in
the House. Yeah, but voters wont.
Speaker 5 (01:08:01):
If we can get all the Republicans to vote for
his opponent, which would appear to be Representative David Cook,
a Republican from Mansfield, then we can circumvent that because
there's not enough Democrats. You have to have seventy six votes,
and there's only sixty eight I believe democrats. So even
if every Democrat voted for Date feeling, he'd have to
(01:08:21):
get at least another six.
Speaker 6 (01:08:25):
Yeah, but they can include republic clear out all the
Rhinos out of our state House.
Speaker 5 (01:08:29):
We got rid of most of them.
Speaker 6 (01:08:31):
A lot of them. Yeah, notoriously not Dad Feeling.
Speaker 5 (01:08:35):
No, no, So it's gonna be interesting to see what happens.
I was talking to Mandy Drugg and remember Mandy. Mandy's
with the Texas Public Policy Foundation. She has worked her
butt off to try to get school choice here in
the state of Texas. And I had her on my
afternoon show last week and she is just and I
felt like saying, I know you want to be optimistic
(01:08:57):
about this, but given how hard is been to get
things through, especially with Daid Feeling in there, why are
you so optimistic now? She thinks that the few quote
unquote Rhinos left have learned their lesson to a certain
extent that they realize that they're you know, they can't
keep doing this or else they will completely disappear from
the state legislature. I'm not sure if they're convinced of
that or not. I certainly don't think Date Feeling is
(01:09:19):
convinced of that. A lot of money, there is a
lot of money.
Speaker 6 (01:09:22):
You know, the lobbyist and everything else. I mean, it's
just unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (01:09:26):

Speaker 4 (01:09:34):
We got a double whammie coming or going on the
East Text Freeway. Jimmy and Shara, this is wreck at
the cold ingret is Chicago morning. It's at cross Chambers. Yeah, southbound.
Look at these backups from Water Road. Sure looks like
they're about to clear that inbound. Don't do it though outbound,
So wreck right in front of the parking ride. That's
all deemed bender. This one's taking up too right lines.
(01:09:55):
That one looks likely too. This is a good day
to be a big shot and take the harding tell
road if you can not a big shot, Commoners, go
ahead and do forty five the North Freeway. Take your medicine.
It's a little thick around West Road. But they did
clear the accident at Little York. It's actually improving. Don't
tell anybody go freeway northbound at the south loop six
' ten Does that make sense? Right at park Place,
(01:10:15):
the usual accident. Now this is a stall, but there's
a wreck right behind it. I don't know if the
ladies on TV know about this, so I'll share this info.
Call the backup Edgebrook looking at twelve extra minutes. Here
you could Takeway three sit through all those blasted lights,
or you could take telephone on the two eighty eight
in the canyon that stall. No, they finally clear. That good.
(01:10:36):
That's two eighty eight northbound Southwest Freeway skun step now
from Kirby the wreck on the Katie Freeways. Ugly at
Fry Road. It's in the feeder, but we are getting
some mainlane rubbernecking from Grand Parkway inbound. Let's do it.

It looks like right now, predicted to go there, So
we're looking at maybe a tie. I don't like those
kind of records, but it is what it is. It
is going to be hot today. We should be in

one of those air quality alerts. We'll see clear skies tonight.

One thing you need to know about this there was
a rule change from the first debate to this one.
Speaker 4 (01:12:28):
They're going to keep the mics open.
Speaker 14 (01:12:31):
There's no mute button, so these guys can now talk
over each other in a way that they couldn't, which
sounds chaotic, But be nice to see the Republican get
interrupted by somebody besides the moderators, right, that would be
good when you look at this rally. Okay, in this anyway,
this VP, this VP debate, are you excited?
Speaker 4 (01:12:49):
Are you indifferent? Does it matter? Will it move the needle?
Speaker 38 (01:12:52):
I'm kind of interested to see how many times Tim
Wall's arms like fling off and because the mics will
be opened, but his arms might be off and like that,
could you might.
Speaker 4 (01:13:03):

So what is Vance's job for you?
Speaker 32 (01:13:56):
Okay?
Speaker 39 (01:13:56):
But back to Waltter a second. Like I was watching
so many videos of him this week. I'm like, he
keeps on saying, we can't have four more years of this,
We can't.
Speaker 4 (01:14:03):
We have to turn the page.
Speaker 39 (01:14:04):
I'm like, what what does she talking about?
Speaker 12 (01:14:07):

Speaker 39 (01:14:07):
Yes, you're right, we have to turn the page from
your administration. But I'm thinking of myself and she repeats
it calmaalah because I was corrected. This Kamala repeat.
Speaker 4 (01:14:19):
Is great for two reasons.
Speaker 14 (01:14:20):
One, as you said, she's writing the book, she's the
vice president. But two, every time they yell turn the
page bid, it's like I love Bob Seeker.
Speaker 5 (01:14:28):

Speaker 5 (01:16:36):
Ten Pennsylvania, of course, you know I'm not going to
worry about Pennsylvania this time around. How about North Carolina?
I saw an interesting polster talking about North Carolina. The
thing work I think sher and I are both worried
about North Carolina is what happened with Helene And you
know how much of the rural areas in particular have
been devastated by flooding and lack of power.
Speaker 6 (01:16:58):
Basically news blackout from mainstream media over the weekend about
how bad it is and how badly it's been handled
by that governor.
Speaker 5 (01:17:05):
Not only by that governor. But there's no.
Speaker 6 (01:17:07):
There was no emergency response weekend.
Speaker 5 (01:17:09):
Where's the female response.
Speaker 6 (01:17:11):
I mean, come on, yeah, nothing, And you've got Fort Bragg,
well what used to be for Bragg exactly. I don't
even know what.
Speaker 5 (01:17:16):
It's called now at any rate, here is upholster. He said.
At least before all this happened, that things were looking
very good for Trump in North Carolina, especially when you're
talking about fifty plus voters the level of support he
has in the fifty plus voting crowd.
Speaker 20 (01:17:32):
Yeah, Trump is leading among voters fifty plus by nine points.
So the older part of the North Carolina electorate is
more Republican, and that's true in every single race we tested.
But among older black voters, Harris's margin actually goes up.
She's leading older black voters by eighty eight points, and
(01:17:53):
older white voters Trump's leading by thirty six points, And
so that racial disparity over is even more polarized.
Speaker 4 (01:18:03):
Among older voters.
Speaker 20 (01:18:05):
But because there's more older white voters in North Carolina,
edge goes to Trump among that key demographic, and older
voters are going to be the largest segment of voters
in North Carolina. Motivation numbers have gone up across the board,
including among older voters, but there is a gap between
older and younger voters. So we ask people, you know,
(01:18:26):
how motivated are you to vote? Ten out of ten
means extremely motivated. Ninety one percent of voters fifty plus
say they are ten out of ten extremely motivated to vote.
That numbers seventy eight percent among voters under fifty. If
you look at the youngest side of the elector. At
the voters eighteen to thirty four, it's sixty seven percent.
So there is still a pretty big gap between the
(01:18:48):
motivation levels of older and younger voters.
Speaker 4 (01:18:51):
Older voters are going to show up.
Speaker 20 (01:18:53):
Younger voters, there's still some question marks they show up
in the full force that they're appearing in our poll.
Speaker 5 (01:18:58):
That's what it's all about. Votes to show up, devoute
or the mail in the ballot. All right, time for

Donald Trump one of his several campaign rallies this weekend.
That one was in Wisconsin. He also went to Erie,
Pennsylvania yesterday, returning to Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was shot
by the assassin July thirteenth. That remains that return set
for this coming Saturday. The Pennsylvania speech capped off a
(01:22:28):
busy weekend for Trump. He rallied as I said, in Wisconsin, Michigan,
also attending the Big Georgia Alabama football game in Tuscaloosa. Yeah,
they stood on their feet and cheered for minutes on end.
And he took a shot while there at the DP
Democrat VP candidate Tim Wallas.
Speaker 7 (01:22:48):
He was at Michigan today, he got booed out of

Speaker 4 (01:23:24):
He's more radical than Kamala Harris.
Speaker 6 (01:23:27):
And he'll be exposed in that debate. Emmeror also from Minnesota,
he knows him. On ABC this week, seven oh four
is our time. Hillary Clinton, she's doubled down calling Trump
supporters deplorable, saying that was too kind to words she
read an op ed in the Washington Post last week. Yeah,
just too kind. They're even worse. Democrats don't usually dominate
(01:23:49):
early vote, usually do dominate early voting, but guess what
their lead and mail in voting request is shrinking.
Speaker 11 (01:23:57):
Now, this goes to show that the Trump team is
doing something right.
Speaker 12 (01:24:01):
His campaign is doing the work to get people out
and bank that early vote, and I think it could be.
Speaker 32 (01:24:09):
Really critical on some of these swings state.
Speaker 11 (01:24:11):
Former Trump official Neil Chattergy told KTRH. This is also
a sign that Trump could have a huge victory in November.
Speaker 12 (01:24:17):
I think the polling has been way off. I think
polsters at Deil a decade later not figured out how
to accurately poll Donald Trump.

Speaker 28 (01:24:52):
Because it's so difficult to get trucks in by land,
we began airlifting supplies, including food and water, into the.
Speaker 6 (01:25:00):
Yeah, they didn't airlift until after three days of that.
By the way, that was the Governor Cooper there. He
did his news conference with a script off a teleprompter.
He had nearly two million without power in the states
that are affected by Helene. President Biden's going to be
visiting that area. Yeah, it's not reflecting well on the Democrats,
so he's going this week sometime. He just doesn't want
(01:25:24):
to disrupt emergency operations. Meantime, brace yourselves, all of us again.

A cold skyrocket. Forty five thousand DOC workers poised to
go on strike tomorrow. Retail Industry Leaders Association says the
strike is a self inflicted wound to the US economy.
Joe Biden said he will not intervene if there's a strike.
(01:26:07):
Union contracts expire today. Low Start College economist Hank Lewis
says it's going to affect us all though.
Speaker 15 (01:26:15):
This could actually interrupt the flow of a large amount
of imported goods and material there's shipped from within the
United States as well as from elsewhere around the world.
This could potentially slow down production all over the place.
In the United States.
Speaker 6 (01:26:29):
Yeah, talk about big ports. Houston now the largest port
for waterborne tonnage in the US. Car sales they have
begun to rise, not just prices, but people are buying
these cars in recent months. But it's not good because
it turns out that car repossessions are also rising.
Speaker 16 (01:26:50):
There was no inventory and the dealerships were just able
to put a market adjustment on the cost of the
vehicle and just add an extra sometimes thirty thousand dollars
to the cost of the car because of demand.
Speaker 6 (01:27:03):
Auto industry expert Art flores aies's insurance costs rising on

Fourteen American Food Classics. We're told, I don't know if
I call liver and onions a food classic, but okay,
certainly a big staple of the American diet.
Speaker 6 (01:28:07):
You know, for them, it was cheaper. Yeah, that's what
the deal was.
Speaker 5 (01:28:10):
For kids who grew up in the fifties and the
sixties and the seventies, this.
Speaker 6 (01:28:13):
Is Amberger and liver.
Speaker 5 (01:28:14):
Yeah, you got a lot of that kind of stuff.
But I was really as I looked down the list here,
it brought back a lot of memories because at our
house we had virtually all of these things at one
point in time or another. And I guess I felt
nostalgic about it too, because my mother put together a
cookbook of you know, of Barrett family favorites, you know,
(01:28:35):
the things that we all grew up eating as kids.
She gave she passed that along to us in case
we wanted to make them for our kids, you know,
of you know some of the some of the things
that she made, and and it always used to make
me smile because there's there's one she had one recipe
for every ethnic group. This is as close to ethnic
food as we ever got as kids. She had a
(01:28:55):
spaghetti dish that she had a recipe for. She had
a chopped suwiy dish, she had a recipe for it.
She would like pick one from every different She had
a goulash recipe for example. Well, a lot of them
were things like this, doing a castrole. When's the last
time you had doing a castrole? Sheriff fryar weird?
Speaker 6 (01:29:12):
And I can't even remember, you know, I can't remember,
but I was just thinking about it last Thursday. Run
the same wavelength, I think.
Speaker 5 (01:29:22):
So here's another one. Ambrosia salad. Oh gosh, you know
with all the different fruit and marshmallow and sweeten. Oh yeah,
that used to do well.
Speaker 6 (01:29:31):
That still shows up.
Speaker 5 (01:29:32):
It's some things my mom made that all the.
Speaker 6 (01:29:34):
Time, not in our house, but usually Specialcasia community thing.
Speaker 5 (01:29:38):
Yeah, she'd make it for like Thanksgiving as a side
dish for Thanksgiving, for example, salisbury steak.
Speaker 6 (01:29:43):
Oh, I've forgotten even how to make it.
Speaker 5 (01:29:47):
Yeah, deviled eggs. I'm surprised. I still see people deviled eggs,
but usually only it's a special occasion thing. Oh no, no,
now you still make devilt eggs. Cream to corn? Do
you ever have cream corn? Yeah, it's just plain old corn.
Baked Alaska. Baked Alaska.
Speaker 6 (01:30:08):
You made that at your house?
Speaker 4 (01:30:09):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:30:09):
Well, no, it's a little too fancy. There's a few
there's a few restaurants that still have baked Alaska that
they serve every know.
Speaker 6 (01:30:17):
You gotta make it. It's kind of time consuming.
Speaker 5 (01:30:20):
Pineapple upside down cake. We had that every Easter at
our house growing up as a kid. Yeah, it is
easy to I love pineapple upside done cake.
Speaker 4 (01:30:30):
Meat loaf.
Speaker 5 (01:30:32):
You ever make meat loaf? I love meat loaf.
Speaker 6 (01:30:34):
I haven't made meat love. My mother used to stuff
bell peppers with basically was meat love.
Speaker 5 (01:30:39):
Here's another one inside of pepper wall, dwarf salad with
apples in it, with apples and grapes and almonds. Yeah,
all that good stuff in it. Uh. Chick Oh, this
is my favorite as a kid. Chicken a lah king
with the biscuits. Loved it. I feel like going to
(01:30:59):
making some. And here's here's here's here's a big one.
Because Elizabeth it was King ranch Castle, I got you.
Here's here's one because Elizabeth just mentioned this. Going to
the store, there's hard. It's hard to find a lot
of different flavors of jello anymore. A lot of stores
aren't aren't carrying a whole bunch of different flavors.
Speaker 6 (01:31:16):
How many jokes made about it?
Speaker 5 (01:31:17):
Maybe jell o salads used to be a thing people
make up all the time. Another one, canned fruit cocktail.
Remember canned fruit cocktail. And here's another one of my favorites,
which I still make every now and again, beef stroganoff.
I love beef stroganof, but not very popular. Time for
trafficking weather together, we need to do what's that, sky Mike.
Speaker 4 (01:31:37):

Seven twenty two is their time here in Houston's borning news.
As they said, the galp Pole showing eighty percent of
America's believe the country is divided. I'm wondering what the
other twenty percent are thinking. They don't think it's divided.
Robert Charles joins this political analyst, former Assistant Secretary of
State under George W. Bush do you agree with the
eighty percent of the twenty percent. Robert Well, I.
Speaker 35 (01:35:53):
Think it's pretty clear that the country is divided. I mean,
in all honesty, it's you know, a Republic of Republic
takes out effort. It's not a one and done. And
what we're confronting right now is forced us, both internally
and externally, working very hard to divide us, and we're
giving over to that.
Speaker 4 (01:36:10):
Frankly.
Speaker 35 (01:36:11):
I mean when I saw a recent rest Musen poll
that said that twenty eight percent of the Democrats interviewed
and there were more than a thousand interviewed, were of
the view that one of the two assassination attempts would
be better off if it had worked. Well, you know,
that's outrageous. It's an unbelievable turn of events when we
would wish upon either party by anybody, that any American
(01:36:35):
would wish any other American dead, never mind one running
for president. So we're in a moment when the Republic
is shaking, and we've been in these moments historically before
the nineteen sixties represented that obviously, the Civil War era,
both prior and another forty years after were incredibly divided.
(01:36:56):
But I think we've got to recognize that this is
really on us. We need to not only vote, but
we need to actually open a conversation with neighbors and say, hey, look,
you know, Cole and Poul used to often say, don't
get so spun up. Well, part of that is that
civil dialogue is the only way that you correct errors.
And if some of us think that the rest of

us are off base, we got to listen because because
that's the way.
Speaker 4 (01:37:21):
You know.
Speaker 35 (01:37:21):
Again, I'll quote Alex Dtokville eighteen thirty five. He said
Americans are exceptional because they resolve their problems with any
uncomfort with the uncomfortable face to face. We're willing to
civilly talk it through and then get to a point
where even if we disagree, we're all part of one republic.
We lose that and we lose the republic.
Speaker 6 (01:37:41):
I agree with you, but I would admit we This
is the polls, this is Washington, this is the lobbyists,
this is the law fair. This is not Americans talking
face to face. This is all the political class, and
it's all the mainstream media, and it's in our faces,
and it's big tech. We're not allowed to talk to
(01:38:01):
each other face to face. I just don't believe it
when people get together that America is as divided as
the political pundits want us to believe.
Speaker 5 (01:38:11):
Well, there's a lot of truth in that.
Speaker 35 (01:38:13):
I mean, this notion of law fair is brand new,
the idea that you would I go back and look
at FDR's attorney general, Robert what was his name, Robert Jackson,
gave an incredible speech saying that prosecutors, if they allow
themselves to become political, will destroy the republic. And so
what you've done is you have a Merit Garland and
a Biden Harris, and a bunch of folks in the
(01:38:36):
both in the House and the Senate in Washington Democrats
who have decided that go ahead and throw down the
glass and break it all. And so what they've done
is they've polluted, and they've they've really disrupted and abused
the judicial process or the political process in the form
of abuse of the judicial process. They've divided us at
the national level, and they're trying to push all that
(01:38:58):
down through big tech and through social media and through
their they're really their their stranglehold on the big media,
the network media, to try to get all of us
to believe that we should all become marx sister socialists.
Boys and girls aren't boys and girls. They're trying to
push their own non reality down a DEI crt all
this crap on the average American. And I do agree
(01:39:20):
with you that at heart, average Americans still understand each other,
and eighty five or ninety percent of them are not
being They're being brainwashed to some degree, but another part
of them is saying, no, this isn't this isn't reality.
And I guess I hope that that common sense element
of America, that cornerstone, that that group of Americans that
we think of as our neighbors and in a day
(01:39:41):
to day way are the ones that prevail.
Speaker 33 (01:39:43):
It is.
Speaker 35 (01:39:44):
It is very disturbing to see Marxism push down through
people like Pelosi and Schumer and Biden and Harris and Walts.
I mean that guy at Waltz, I mean, look look
at his record. I mean he's you know, she's a
liberation theologist, but he is a go along, get along Marxist.
So you know, we cannot go down that path. It's
(01:40:04):
too dangerous.
Speaker 5 (01:40:05):
Well, were already down there. Let's hope we can turn around. Robert,
Thank you, Robert Charles poblitical analyst, former Assistant Secretary of

Speaker 24 (01:43:06):
To see the nation as divided as it is right
now is a profound disappointment, and it should be by
the way, to every American.
Speaker 22 (01:43:13):
The Gallupol also found that for the first time in decades,
more Americans identify as Republicans.

Donald Trump latest leads Kamala Harris in polling in five
swing states Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, and Arizona. So Harris
was rallying last night in one of the two states
these latest numbers say. She leads Nevada and called for
amnesty for millions of illegal aliens. Here, we must have
(01:43:47):
comprehensive immigration reform.
Speaker 25 (01:43:52):
With strong border security and an earned pathway to citizenship.
Speaker 6 (01:43:58):
And she blames Donald Trump for the border disaster that
she is in charge of. Concerns that Georgia, Pennsylvania, North
Carolina could be swung though by a projected one to

in southern Lebanon, then.
Speaker 4 (01:45:15):
Hesbela will be ready for it.
Speaker 37 (01:45:17):
This as Israeli air strikes continue causing massive damage not
only to Hesbela. The head of Hamas in Lebanon, Fatasha Reef,
was taken out overnight in an air strike in Lebanon,
and so were militants from a different organization, three of
them in central Bairut, an area that had not been
hit to this point of the conflict.
Speaker 6 (01:45:34):
Yeah, they got their number. Joe Biden, of course, predictably,
he calls now for a ceasefire hospital.

finally time to pay the piper for millions of those
student loan kids.
Speaker 28 (01:46:36):
Starting October first, the remaining grace period for those who
had student loans halted during the pandemic will be over,
meaning missed payments will count toward delinquency. Former Assistant Attorney
General John u tells Fox this stems from the Supreme
Court rejecting the Biden administration's loan Forgiveness program.
Speaker 29 (01:46:52):
President Biden and his age went back and tried to
find every little nook and cranny they could create somewhat
smaller progress to try it to cancel debt efforts to
stretch out payments, essentially say we're going to modify your
loans and then you don't have to really pay anything
every month.
Speaker 28 (01:47:07):
But so far the courts have denied those efforts too,
meaning most loans are now due just as they were

Speaker 5 (01:48:27):
President Trump in Pennsylvania talked about the assassination attempts against him.
I think not only called out any country that might
be involved in any assassination attempt against him, but also
the current administration for not speaking out and letting those
(01:48:49):
countries know that's not that's not okay no matter who
the candidate is. Here's Trump, Sary Green.
Speaker 4 (01:48:56):
You can't let things like this happen.
Speaker 7 (01:48:58):
And you know, Joe Biden get up and say you
are threatening a candidate, a former president and a candidate,
and if you do anything to him, it's okay. Look me,
it's a very dangerous business. But Biden or to say
you do anything to him, We're going to blow you
off the face of the earth. And then we're not
(01:49:20):
going to have any problems, right, But he can't say that.
Other presidents would say that. He just can't probably get
the words out. But I'll tell you what if it
were reversed, if I were president, somebody was threatening a president,
even if I didn't like that person and he was
(01:49:41):
from the opposite party, I would tell the threatening country,
you do anything to him, we're going to blow you
off the face.
Speaker 20 (01:49:51):
Of the earth.
Speaker 6 (01:49:52):
And nothing's going to happen.
Speaker 4 (01:49:54):
But we haven't had that happen.
Speaker 6 (01:49:56):
Have we might?
Speaker 4 (01:49:58):
We haven't had that happen.
Speaker 7 (01:50:00):
It makes life a little bit more dangerous, but that's okay.
Speaker 6 (01:50:04):
Well, I mean they've confirmed three Iranian hit squads looking
for him right now planning, and they welcomed the President
of Iran to the UN General Assembly, brought him in, right.
He had to change his locale in Wisconsin because the
Secret Service couldn't protect him at an open field rally,
so he was going to have tens of thousands attending
and he could only hold it indoors in an eight
(01:50:25):
thousand arena. Saving that, Yeah, which is just what he
want to serve as a course, protecting all those visiting
potentates heads of stake. Sure, can't protect Donald Trump.
Speaker 5 (01:50:35):
It's pretty obvious that at least some people within the
Bide administration are openly rooting for those Iranian teams. Seven
forty time for traffic and weather together, we're checking out
the drive once again. Here's sky Mike Twiser time.
Speaker 4 (01:50:47):
All right, let's do Katie Freeway inbound. Have we cleared
the rank of prior road? That was ugly too, that
was in the feeder road. We're all good on the
main lanes, but you'll hit the brakes at Mason Road
and you lose about twelve minutes trying to get into
the belt here Southwest Freeway, we're spackled up. I've got
a report of a wreck right after the West Park Curve.

have to double check that laneage. I've got backups from
the Beltway. Let's skip over to twenty five the toll
bridge by the way, if you're just now getting back

Speaker 4 (01:51:57):
All right, that's on the feeder road. It's not the

says that lumber is now picked up five to eighteen

And speaking of that, we've got the one of the
latest updates here Hurricane Center kind of lowering expectation down
to a forty percent chance of formation and also looks
like maybe later toward the late week this week or
into the weekend. So again we'll keep an eye on
things and see how that progresses. But otherwise, yes, lots

And it's not a cheeseburger combo.
Speaker 40 (01:56:17):
But the interview was such a disaster even the New

like the view gnawing through a platter of pulled pork sandwiches.
Speaker 4 (01:56:27):
Here's this quote.
Speaker 40 (01:56:29):
Miss Harris responded to the fairly basic and predictable questions
with roundabout responses that did not provide a substantive answer.
Or this, a hard hitting Harris interview is still yet
to come.
Speaker 5 (01:56:40):
Wow or this.
Speaker 4 (01:56:42):
It's not quite clear what miss Harris.
