Services Studios.

Speaker 4 (00:17):
Hey, good morning, five am.

Speaker 5 (00:18):
As we get started this morning here on Houston's Morning News,
I'm Jimmy Barrett bong our top stories. Ted Cruz thinks
we should provide military help to Israel, and he's right.
How many illegals entered the usm A zero and coming
up at five oh eight. Now, the National Weather Service
wants you to ditch the booze details in the minutes ahead.

(00:38):
You're in Houston's Morning News. First, we're checking out, that's
gonna say, we're checking out the Morning Drive. But sky
Mike's under the weather this morning, jumping Joe's on his
way in. So we'll just go ahead and let you
know there's there's traffic out there for now, and we'll
just concentrate on the weather forecast for today or kt
RH Top Tax Defenders twenty four. Our Weather Center forecast
mostly sunny with the high temperature right about ninety two.

(01:00):
Jeffey No will join us in about nine minutes with
the complete forecast, current temperature, is seventy nine at your
official severe weather station, news radio seven forty KTRH. It's
time now for the news. Here's Cless Sanders.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
Thank you, Jimmy.

Speaker 6 (01:15):
I am here today just to let you now. It
is five oh one on KTRH. Our top story.

Speaker 7 (01:20):
Israel is doing an enormous favor to the United States
right now.

Speaker 8 (01:24):
I believe the most acute near.

Speaker 7 (01:26):
Term security threat facing America is the threat of a
nuclear Iran.

Speaker 6 (01:30):
Texas Senator Ted Cruz last night with ktrh's Sean Hannity,
adding that if American bunker buster bombers can take out
a key Iranian nuclear vicinity, it is in our best
interest to do so. Meantime, the fighting between these two
countries continues.

Speaker 9 (01:46):
The Israeli security Cabinet met to determine the next steps
in the war against Iran. It comes as the IDF
continues to strike targets across that country, taking out what
they say are forty percent of those stick missile launching units.
Despite the ongoing Israeli strikes, Iran is still launching waves
of ballistic missiles, sending millions of people into bomb shelters.

(02:09):
Sirens were sounding overnight here in Tel Aviv.

Speaker 6 (02:11):
That is Trey Yanks reporting there the Middle East crisis
impacting oil prices futures. You're trading for over seventy four
dollars a barrel this morning, and there are concerns that
prices because of this situation could get higher than one
hundred and twenty dollars a barrel.

Speaker 10 (02:28):
Bru's oily gas producers sixty seventy bucks is great for us,
gives us stability, gives us something to go off of.
But when you get to above eighty one hundred and
one hundred and twenty and you can't find services to
drill wells or you're paying double for things.

Speaker 6 (02:41):
Oil producer Jay Young, based here in Texas, also pointed
out that a spike in the cost of a barrel
of oil will lead to a huge spike at what
you pay for gasoline, and those prices rose two cents
overnight across Houst into two seventy four gallon. Meantime, the
state wide average shot up four cents and is now
city get too in eighty cents. It's now five TOHO.

(03:03):
Three Promises made, promises kept. The Trump administration did not
release one single illegal alien into the country last month.
That is compared to the sixty two thousand or re
leased by the Biden administration in May of twenty twenty four. Meantime,
we had more Democrat grand standing in sanctuary cities, the

(03:27):
commotion there was New York City Control Lander running for
mayor arrested after allegedly trying to shield an illegal alien
from being arrested by Ice. And we now have even
more proof that the deportations are working. Just don't count
on the mainstream media to let you know what that
proof is.

Speaker 11 (03:46):
The US is on track for the lowest murder rate ever.

Speaker 12 (03:51):
One way to keep from being deported is not to
get arrested.

Speaker 11 (03:55):
That is John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research
It's not.

Speaker 12 (04:01):
Just the criminals that they're deported, it's even the criminals
that they haven't been able to find you to deport.
There's a lot of evidence that they're laying.

Speaker 11 (04:09):
Low the ads that when you let law enforcement catch criminals,
you will get less crime.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Jeff Biggs, News Radio seven forty k T eight. Thank you, Jeff.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
It's now five toh four in reimbursement for Operation Loan
Star is closer to happening thanks to President Trump's budget agenda.
LUCAKACHATORI of Texas Scorecard says this will likely refund Texas
all of the eleven billion dollars it's spent during the
Biden years, and it's likely to stay after clearing another
Senate committee hurdle.

Speaker 13 (04:41):
Unless something crazy happens on the Senate's floor where it
gets taken out. The way a lot of these omnibus
bills work is a lot of port gets included, and
there's several hurdles leading up to that point where things
can be taken out or things can be shifted.

Speaker 6 (04:55):
The Senate is expected to vote on this later in
the month. The Senate Finance Committee releases its version of
the bill, but Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is not convinced,
telling k trh Is Klay, Travis and Buck Sexton the
debt ceiling increase is a deal breaker.

Speaker 8 (05:12):
Congress is terrible with money.

Speaker 14 (05:14):
They're irresponsible with accumulated thirty six percent dollars debt. They
show no signs of wisening up and actually spending CODs.
So I think to raise the dead ceiling fix trillion
is giving irresponsible people too much credit.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
He says he'll support the bill if the dead ceiling
increase is taken out five h five on KTRH. The
Senate Judiciary Committee holds a hearing today to look into
the cover up of former President Joe Biden's cognitive decline.

Speaker 15 (05:40):
Republicans doubt President Biden was fit to serve as commander
in chief. Congressman Ronnie Jackson round the White House medical
unit under three presidents. He's long questioned mister Biden's fitness.

Speaker 16 (05:51):
I've been saying this for, you know, since he was candidate,
Joe Biden, that he's not physically or or you know,
for cognitively fit to be our president.

Speaker 15 (05:58):
And Jackson accused former White House doctor Kevin O'Connor of
a quote cover up.

Speaker 6 (06:03):
That is Chad Pergrim reporting from Capitol Hill. He mentioned
Joe Biden and the former president will be in Galveston
tomorrow for a Juneteenth event. Of course, it's been a
state holiday here since nineteen eighty, long before Biden made
it a federal holiday. It's now five oh six and
a big night for the astros and cam Smith and
you heard it all right here on KTRH.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
And that's hit a mile high the left fairly deep
to left center back on it as soda strum.

Speaker 17 (06:28):
At the wall looking up see at letter breaking bits
and that's correct, left field, way out of here.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
Two home runs for Cam Smith, Robert Ford and Steve
Sparks on the calls as the Astros beat up on
the Athletics thirteen to three. Coverage Tonight starts at eight,
the Stros maintaining a four and a half game lead
in the Al West. I'm Cliff Saunders here on Houston's news,
weather and traffic station News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Houston's Morning News continues with Jimmy Barrett.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
All Right, five h seven is our time here in
Houston's Morning News. All Right, the National Weather Service has
been getting Oh by the way, A big story of
the morning, I think is whether or not the United
States is going to get militarily involved in helping Israel. See,
we have something called a bunker buster bomb. We're the

(07:26):
only ones that have it. So I think what we'll
be discussing this morning, and discussing here in just a
matter of minutes, is whether or not we should take
a US Air Force jet and drop this bunker buster
bomb on this nuclear facility in Iran. That's the only
way you can get to it. It's the only way
they can wipe it out. So you'll hear arguments on
both sides, I'm sure during the course of our show today,

(07:48):
but I'm going to be probably asking you what you think.
All right, But back for now to the National Weather Service.
They may get kind of preachy lately.

Speaker 18 (07:56):
Have you noticed this.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
They're putting out all sorts of extra kinds of warnings.
They're not just putting out thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings
and hurricane warnings and that kind of stuff. Now they're
advising you on your personal habits. The National Weather Service
is warning those of us who live in certain parts

(08:19):
of Texas to not drink alcohol. They did this. They
did this yesterday. They were warning us not to drink alcohol.
Was that like a specific weather advisory? The National Weather
Service is issued in alcohol alert, Please don't get drunk,

(08:39):
it's too hot. They also warned against too much caffeine, because,
after all, your child and you need an agency, the
federal government, to tell you whether or not you can
have a cold beer or a cup of coffee. Now,
I don't know if this is the part that upsets
me more than any other party. I think maybe it

(09:01):
is we pay for the National Weather Service. We pay
for that with our taxes. I don't like anything I
pay for in taxes telling me exactly what it is
I should do with my personal habits behind closed doors
and my own home. Is there a reason why I
can't have a glass of wine sending in my seventy
two degree air conditioned home just because it's ninety three

(09:22):
degrees outside and the heat indexes triple digits. I think
they I see this. Maybe the part of it that's
upsetting me is that there's a I sense that there's
maybe a little climate change activism going on at the
National Weather Service. I don't think they give ten fifteen
years ago, they would have never done anything like this.

(09:44):
But maybe it's just me. Yeah, Texans warned of the
health risk of the heat, because, after all, we don't
understand heat. It doesn't get hot very often here in Texas.
Good Lord five ten, Time for traffic and weather together.
I think jumping Joe's in?

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Are you in? Jumping Joe?

Speaker 19 (10:02):
I'm here, I'm here, I'm on this line here, but
I'm here. You can take my land, but don't take
my coffee. I send the cage Freeway westbound between I
forty five the North Freeway, it's stud amount two right
lanes remain blocked because of work work. I'm Joe Bardett
the Generators Supercenter, dot com traffic.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
Center from r kat rh top tax defender is twenty
four hour web the center for today, mostly sunny skies,
high temperature right about ninety two. It's after today that
we're kind of curious about, Jeff, you and O, what
can you tell us about tomorrow and Friday in the weekend.
Are we getting rid of these pop up storms or
is this going to be part of our life here
for the rest of the summer. It's looking at maybe
the latter here at this point, definitely a summer like pattern.

(10:44):
Temperatures in the low nineties, which of course that is
pretty much where we are supposed to be this time
of year, heated, next readings, the air you can wear
in the low one hundreds. That's going to be the
case here and yes, past today, we'll see those pop
up shower and thunderstorms for the afternoon pretty much all
the way through the weekend here in the near future.

(11:05):
So I had the umbrella ready to go and then
just look for that rain. You can kind of mark
this one down. Mostly sunny, low nineties today, partly cloudy
upper seventies tonight, and that trend will kind of continue
here as we go through the next few days. Teffit,
you're right now seventy nine at your official severe weather station,
News Radio seven forty KRH.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
It's Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New South
Windows Solutions. Now back to Jimmy Barris and the Houston
Morning News team.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
All the info you need to take on the day,
five twenty is our time here in Houston's boring News.
All right, Now, let's get to topic number one here
and we will in just a second, which is and
I feel even though its kind of a serious topic
and we don't always ask about serious stuff when it
comes to the question of today, I think I would
like to go there today with you regarding how far
we should go to help Israel. There is the biggest

(11:53):
thing that we could not that they need a ton
of our help, but we have something they need that
they don't have, and it's an opportunity for us, I think,
to help ourselves because this face of Iran is no
we're the great satan to Iran. Let's not forget about that,
So we'll discuss that coming up next first, though, well,

(12:14):
traffic and weather together, we're gonna have to skip the
traffic part. We're kind of solving some logistic problems right
now with jumping Joe I to get this whole thing fixed.
Sky Mike is under the weather today, so we'll hopefully
get to him in our next segment from our KTRH
Top Tax Defenders twenty four. Our weather center, mostly Sunday
today with the high temperature of ninety two. Mostly Sunday,
slight chances of an afternoon shower storm Tomorrow ninety three,

(12:35):
and then Friday sunny. There's a chance of a pop
up shower storm mainly in the afternoon with a high
ninety three. Current temperature is eighty at your official severe
weather station, News Radio seven forty KTRH. Time to check
out some of our top stories on a Wednesday morning.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Here's cliar sponsored by D and M.

Speaker 6 (12:54):
Honor Losing the Fed is expected to hold interest rates
where they are today. The search continues for twenty year
old woman who fell off a jet ski in Lake Houston,
and almost seventy thousand people signed up for President Trump's
five million dollar gold card to get legal status in
the US. Get the latest news anytime at ktrch dot com.
Our next update is at five thirty when.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
Events are happening.

Speaker 20 (13:16):
People knew something was going to happen.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
Check in the big trade deal India and Pakistan.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Flipope elicted these radio seven kt Rhumber nineteen.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
Seventy nine and it's well, it's way up the charts again,
maybe maybe to number one. We'll see five twenty two
here in Houston's Morning News. All right, bomb Iran. The
Israelis are doing it, but they can only do so much.
They do not have the one thing that they need

(13:49):
to really wipe out the Iranian nuclear program. By the way,
we start this segment with President Trump, who got asked
about negotiating further with Iran and basically said he's not
in the mood for negotiating with Iran.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
Where are you open to negotiating with the Irradians right now?
Or do you want to wait?

Speaker 21 (14:12):
I've been negotiating.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
I told him to do the deal. They should have
done the deal.

Speaker 22 (14:17):
The cities have been blown to pieces that we have
lost a lot of people.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
They should have done the deal. I told him to
do the deal. So I don't know. I'm not too
much in a mood to negotiate.

Speaker 23 (14:27):
So I observed America first, upfront and personal and term one.
And what I learned about President Trump. He's a man
of action, not words. He's not in novel Chamberlain. He
is a Churchill. He is not someone who sits in
a beach chair and lets history happen to him. He
makes history. He acts strategically. He acts when it's in
our interest. When he took out Solo money, when he

(14:47):
took out Albig Daddy, when he acted in Syria, when
they use chemical weapons on their own people. Every dictator
in the world observed that. And you know what happened.
Putin for the first time in four presidencies, did not
invade a sovereign tree. The last and final year of
his presidency, not a single American troop died in Afghanistan.
Look isis dismantled. He's not words.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
He is action.

Speaker 23 (15:12):
How is Bannon and the folks that you mentioned and
the people advocating for just sitting back and taking it easy,
how are they any different than Biden's foreign policy. Biden's
foreign policy was I say don't and Putin does I
say don't and the Taliban takes over Afghanistan, I say, don't,
and to global wars start on my watch. That is
the Biden Forum policy. That is by no definition, America First.

(15:36):
Auranus had five decades, five decades, almost half a century
to talk, and what they've done instead killed six hundred
nine American troops in Iraq. What they've done is put
an assassination plot on President Trump's head. What they've done
is take American hostages and reac havoc on the world.
America First is not sitting in a beach chair and
using words. It's taking decisive action. When we can take

(15:58):
out four doh onceop of an aeroplane.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
Damn girl, that's strong stuff. That's Kay mcinnaney, the original
White House Press secretary under President Trump.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
Sharp. She's really sharp. Okay.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
So here's the question, how far should we go to
help Israel? And I think help ourselves. They need something
we have. It's called the bunker Buster. It's a bomb
that's capable of penetrating we think anyway where their main
nuclear facility is. It's like in a mountain. A bucker

(16:33):
Buster explodes twice. It explodes the first time to create
cracks so that the bomb can get down to where
it needs to go, and then the second bomb goes
down there in Debtonates. It's highly effective. Israel does not
have it, Nobody else has it. We're the only ones
that do have it. Now here's the question, should we

(16:55):
give it to Israel? And if Israel is not capable
or doesn't have the the the jets capable of administering
the bomb, should we give them the jets in order
to do it, or should we just go ahead and
say the hell with this. We're gonna We're gonna We're
gonna send in the USA Air Force. We're gonna do
We're gonna send in a bunch of bunker buster bombs

(17:16):
and we're just gonna blow the crap out of that
mountain side. We're gonna turn that into a gravel pit
instead of a mountain. Question of the day, you go
to the iHeartRadio app KTRH. If they're plenty people Steve Bannon,
Tucker Carlson don't think we should be doing this. We
don't get militarily involved in this. What do you think?
You go to the iHeart radio app KTRH. Please make

(17:38):
us number one on your preset talk back button. You
get thirty seconds. First name, where you're calling from, and
how you think we should get involved or if we
should get involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran.
Five twenty six. It is time to take a look
at your money as we check in with Jeff Bellinger.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Good morning and.

Speaker 24 (17:56):
Jimmy, Good morning to you the escalating tensions in the
Middle East and prices higher and stocks lower. Yesterday, Wall
Street's major averages had losses of between seven tenths percent
and nine tenths percent. We get government reports on new
unemployment claims and housing starts before the markets open this morning,
and today is decision day for Federal Reserve Board policymakers.

(18:18):
Economists are not expecting a change in interest rates, but
they will be paying close attention when Chair Jerome Powell
meets with reporters after the Fed meeting ends. Stock market
futures pointing slightly higher this morning. From the Fidelity Bloomberg
Business Desk. I'm Jeff Bellinger on News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 21 (18:40):
You are no Houston's News.

Speaker 25 (18:42):

Speaker 1 (18:46):
This is News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Five Everywhere with er app more of what's happening now
from the Shahn Morris Services Studios.

Speaker 5 (18:56):
Five thirty is our time. You're in Houston's Morning News.
I'm Jimmy Barrett. Our top stories this half are the
Fed not expected to lower interest rates. Today we'll see
Middle East war means higher oil prices and coming up
at five thirty eight, would you drink the DNA of
Ozzy Osbourne? Details in the minute Ada here in Houston's
Morning News. First, I think we got our technical snap

(19:19):
foo fixed. Here's Jumping Joe. Yeah, I'm not in the
sky Mike studio. I'm in the jumpin Joe Studio and
we figured that out. It tend the Katie Freeway East
Maun approaching Highway six.

Speaker 26 (19:29):
There's a wreck.

Speaker 19 (19:29):
Time things up traving a slow backed up to Part
ten six ten west northbound of West Park. Watch out
for a disabled vehicle on the right side. I'm Joe
Bardett the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center.

Speaker 5 (19:40):
From our Katrhe Generator super Center twenty four hour weather center.
Mostly sunny today with the high temperature right about ninety two.
We'll take a look at the rest of the wharf week.
Looks like fewer chances of getting by storms, although we
are going to get some pop up afternoon heating storms,
showers and thunderstorms probably each day, at least in a
few spots. Carrent temperature eighty at your officials severe Weather's station.

(20:01):
News Radio seven forty k TRH. It's time now for
the news. Here's Cliff Saunders.

Speaker 6 (20:06):
Hey you, Jimmy five thirty two on KTRH. Our top
story is your bottom line, your money.

Speaker 22 (20:11):
You're going to spend six hundred billion a year, six
hundred billion because of one numskull that sits here. I
don't see enough reason to cut the right snow.

Speaker 6 (20:23):
That was President Trump putting pressure on Federal Reserve Chair
Jerome Pale to cut interest rates. We'll find out if
the squeeze worked at one o'clock at the end of
the June meeting of the Fed. But don't get your
hopes up. Heritage Foundation economist DJN. Tony says, nothing's going
to change.

Speaker 8 (20:40):
All of the indicators are more in favor of an
interest rate cut today than they were in the fall
of last year, right before the election, and that's when
the Fed cut rates in order to try to get
their preferred canded across the finish line. I don't know
how you can look at that and say it's anything
but political.

Speaker 6 (20:54):
And by the way, ahead of the decision down futures
are up this morning, which followed losses across the board
yesterday five point thirty three. Now President Trump calling for
Iran's unconditional surrender, posting the truth social that he knows
quote exactly where this so called supreme leader is hiding,
adding that he's a quote unquote easy target.

Speaker 27 (21:15):
Well, I think Iran's in a really tough spot here,
entirely of their own making. They're not used to having
a president who doesn't try to bribe them with stuff
like Obama did, or kaw tautoom and give him freebies
like Biden did. They've got a president here who puts
America first.

Speaker 6 (21:28):
Missouri Senator Josh Hawley on Fox. The Wall Street Journal
reported Trump was considering all options, including an American strike
on Iran, and as the Iranians continue to launch missiles
at Israel, the US Embassy in Jerusalem is closed from
today through Friday. The US Senate continues to work on

(21:49):
President Trump's budget plan, his Big Beautiful Bill. Senate Majority
Leader John Thune told Fox he doesn't get why some
Republicans aren't on board.

Speaker 28 (21:58):
This is design to help working Americans, people who are
getting up every day going to work, and this gives
them some relief.

Speaker 6 (22:04):
The proposal would also reimburse Texas the billions it's spent
on Operation Lone Star to secure the border under Joe Biden.
Will have more on that at six o'clock. DHS Secretary
Christy Nome is recovering from what was an allergic reaction.
It cost her to be taken to the hospital as
a precaution. We do not know what led to all

(22:25):
of this. Five point thirty four now, federal prosecutors announced
more charges filed in connection to the violent anti ICE
riots in Los Angeles.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
The US Attorney.

Speaker 6 (22:35):
Bill as Sali says, if they will crack down on
anyone who used a protest to commit crimes, we.

Speaker 29 (22:41):
Are united in our efforts to ensure that individuals that
choose to cause violence and destruction in our communities are
held accountable.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
The LAPD has arrested at least five hundred and seventy
five people since the riots started. As a result of
the President's success in shutting the border down, Texas putting
new money towards building a border wall. The state has
built some sixty five miles a wall in an attempt
to fight the Biden border disaster. Five point thirty five.

(23:10):
The Texas GOP is moving ahead with closing primaries and
blocking Democrats from influencing general elections.

Speaker 30 (23:17):
This is something that many members of the GOP say
should have been done already.

Speaker 20 (23:21):
We're going to go to court and get this done.

Speaker 31 (23:23):
We have freedom of association with the people who wanted
to associate with.

Speaker 20 (23:27):
We are a private organization.

Speaker 30 (23:29):
That's Texas GOP Chairman Abraham George. He says this should
be done by the time the twenty twenty six primaries
roll around.

Speaker 31 (23:35):
It's a very simple, claircut case. Other states have done this.
This is not anything new. They don't need to eat
this horse to death anymore.

Speaker 30 (23:43):
He added that this was one of the main reasons
for the many weak Republicans that we've seen in the
Texas House. Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KRH.

Speaker 6 (23:51):
State lawmakers could get called back for summer school. Governor
Greg Gabbett is considering a special session on several issues,
and political consult and Bill Miller believes Abbott is looking
at redistricting.

Speaker 32 (24:03):
I think it's a fifty to fifty proposition. If you're
asked me this in the past and said nass. But
I think it's even odds they'll be back in July,
and if they do have quite a bit of war
going on in Austin.

Speaker 20 (24:14):
About redistricting to create some news.

Speaker 6 (24:16):
Republicancy Abbit telling the Harris County GOPS Lincoln Reagan dinner
last Friday, he was disappointed in some of the failures
during the regular session, adding quote, all I can say
is we may.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
Not be done yet.

Speaker 6 (24:30):
Meantime, we still don't know what the governor is planning
to do with the legislation that is threatening a billion
dollar Texas business.

Speaker 33 (24:38):
A proposed THHC band in the state is sparking backlash
from farmers, small business owners, and health advocates who say
it's a threat to jobs and personal freedom.

Speaker 34 (24:47):
We see poll after poll showing that Texans are opposed
to prohibition that we prefer to see sensible regulation when
it comes to cannabis.

Speaker 33 (24:55):
Heather Fazio with the Texas Cannabis Policy Center argues SB
three as government overreach that punishes responsible adults and cripples
a two billion dollar industry. Governor Abbott has until Sunday
at midnight to veto the bill or do nothing, and
it automatically becomes law. Eric Sharp, News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Ozzy Osbourne might not be as crazy as he seems,
but it's good, I think, because he seems really really crazy.
But Ozzy Osbourne, I'm not sure. I'm laughing to myself
here because I'm trying to fure out why they even
did this. You've heard of a drink called Liquid Death. Well,

(26:04):
Liquid Death sold ten empty cans of iced tea that
were drunk by Ozzy Osbourne. Yes, they're empty cans. The
sales pitch was that they contain Ozzie's DNA. They put
them up for sale online. At four hundred and fifty
bucks apiece. This is an empty can of iced tea

(26:28):
that's supposedly was drunk by Ozzy Osbourne. Four hundred and
fifty bucks each sold out immediately. Now, from nineteen sixty
nine to twenty ten, there were probably six ways to
Sunday plus twelve ways that the average person could come
in contact with Ozzy Osbourne's DNA. But his age and

(26:50):
various different ailments have let's just say, shut that faucet down,
so it's very difficult to get your hands on his DNA.

Speaker 4 (26:59):
At the moment, the.

Speaker 5 (27:01):
Ten Lucky People are getting fresh batches of Ozzie's genetic
material thanks to liquid death. They put ten empty iced
t cans up for sale, again consumed by Ozzie himself,
guaranteed to contain at least trace amounts of his DNA.
What do you do with his DNA? Why would you want?
Why would you want his DNA? So you could create
another Ozzy Osbourne? For what purpose?

Speaker 4 (27:24):
The guy?

Speaker 5 (27:26):
He's a talented singer, I guess, But what other redeeming
value does Osbourne have? I mean that you would want
to create another human being using his DNA? For one thing?
Ozzy Osbourne during his lifetime was probably addicted to more
substances than most of us can even name, so he
has an addictive personality. Would I would I would suggest

(27:48):
that maybe that would not be a good idea to
include that type of DNA because addictive behavior seems to
be something that's hereditary. But for what purpose would you
even want to have Ozzy Osbourne's DNA five forty Time

Alright, five fifty two UR time here in Houston's worn News.
We're getting some talkbacks coming in. That's good, share some
with you. Coming up here in fifteen minutes, I'm going
to share some of some of our listeners comments, some
of your comments about how involved or if we should
get involved in the war going on between Israel and Iran,

(31:38):
whether or not we should give them a bunker buster
or maybe a couple of bunker busters, whether or not
we should involve the United States Air Force and delivering
those bunker busters to take out the nuclear facilities in Iran.
It might be time to do that, and I'll be
interested to hear what you have to say about it.
But but first let's do this. The economy we continued

(32:01):
to see are attracting labor force we have not recovered
from COVID or even before COVID. Really, when it comes
to labor participation, we have fewer people participating in the
labor force. Now I have my own theories about that,
but here's a little conversation on Fox Business between the

(32:23):
host Charles Payne and an economist talking about the shrinking
labor force.

Speaker 36 (32:29):
What a mystery, and had been going up early in
Trump as people started coming back into the labor market.

Speaker 4 (32:34):
Going down again is a concern. You know.

Speaker 36 (32:37):
One of the biggest numbers to wives there, I think
is the difference between feign born workers and native born workers.
So farn born had been absolutely soaring under Biden. Native
born had been stuck in the adult drums. I think
it was flat during the entire four years. So we've
been hoping for some rebound in that, and you know,
maybe it's a fluke this last number here, but hopefully
we get that turned around.

Speaker 37 (32:58):
One of my big problems is that we pay people
a lot of money not to work. You know, there's
a million programs out there that folks just don't know
about that. And if there's a certain jobs you know
you have to take that you don't have to work.
I know that part of the big beautiful bill is
some work requirements in there, but should we look across
the board at more of this stuff.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
Yes.

Speaker 36 (33:18):
One of my sort of pet peeves on the open
border thing is that the claim is that we need
to import millions of migrants for labor shortages. The thing
is we can kind of do a thought experiments less
of that. We annex Canada. Canada's got twenty million workers.
Does that mean we have twenty million extra workers laying around? No,
because Canadians are busy doing stuff for other Canadians. All right,
what about if we don't bring in the country, we

(33:39):
just bring in the people, same deal. So migrants do
not net cray jobs. What they do do is that
you get too many, like if they're legal, so you
get too many low skilled workers, you get not enough
high skilled workers. In other words, the migrants actually bring
shortages of doctors, venarians, any kind of high skilled labor

(33:59):
across economy. So Americans cannot get a doctor's appointment or
Dennis appointment. Even aarian costs five hundred bucks, but buy
gum gardeners are cheap. So when we talk about what's
happening with the labor market, I think that's really the
key mass deportation. You still have the same number of
jobs in the economy. The unemployment rate, as you say,
is going to have a lot more to do with

(34:20):
how many benefits there are, whether legals are competing those
wages down the minimum wage level. But if we can
get to that point, the idea that we're not going
to have enough workers, we have millions of people. You know,
if we go back pre COVID, we've got several million
Americans who dropped out of the labor force. Those people
are able bodied, they can.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
Work, they can, but they don't want to, and many
of them don't have to. To get back to what
Charles Pain the host was saying, we provide some pretty
good benefits for people who don't work, at least good
enough where they don't feel like you do a whole
lot better by working. So how do you solve that

(34:59):
from do you do increase wages enough so it is
worth their while to work, or do you decrease benefits
so they have to go back to work. By the way,
here's some people that probably will work. I don't know
if you saw this or not, but Conference Secretary Howard
Lutnik said yesterday nearly seventy thousand people have signed out
for President Trump's Gold Card. His Gold Card, the Trump

(35:20):
Gold Card don't leave your country without it, which would
grant foreigner's legal residency in the US for a five
million dollar investment. Sixty seven thousand, six hundred and ninety
seven people are on the waiting list to get the
Trump Gold Card for five million dollars and come to

month under President Donald Trump.

Speaker 38 (37:16):
Customs and Border Patrol has just released data showing zero
illegal immigrants released into the country through the southern border
last month. Again zero, that is Fox's Brett bahar Now.

Speaker 6 (37:28):
Compare that to May of twenty twenty four under Joe
Biden wins, sixty two thousand illegal aliens were released into
our neighborhoods and with mass deportations continuing, John Lott with
the Crime Prevention Research Center says the US is heading
for a historic low.

Speaker 12 (37:44):
FBI data shows that we're on track for the lowest
murder rate effort. It's not rocket science. If you want
to reduce crime, you have to make it riskier for
criminals to go into the crime as if they do,
they're more likely to get arrested and therefore more likely
just get deported.

Speaker 6 (37:59):
Yet these are the the same people at the left

Speaker 27 (38:26):
Luca Cachatori of Texas Scorecards says we should get fully refunded,
and unless the surprise happens, it'll be in the final bill.

Speaker 13 (38:33):
There's a reason why Senator John Cornyn and Senator Ted

of cleared the final hurdle.

Ted Kruz continues to make the case for President Trump

Speaker 7 (39:31):
The one location that they have a technological challenge with
is ford Au. And Fordau is built into the base
of a mountain. It's deliberately built to be able to
withstand air assault. And America has bunker buster bombs that
could destroy Fordau. And I think it is very much
in America's interest to see that nuclear research lab destroyed.

Iran meanwhile sent two rounds of missiles towards Israel in
the early hours. President Trump has called for Iran's unconditional surrender.

Jonathan Savage reporting the conflict affecting oil prices now at
seventy four dollars and seventy three cents a barrel this morning.
Some experts think we could get one hundred and twenty
dollars oil.

Speaker 30 (40:35):
The main concern is how this could affect the flow
of oil in the Persian Gulf.

Speaker 10 (40:38):
Got a couple of islands that if those are hit
and you disrupt that oil through the very stray of
the Persian Gulf, you're going to see one hundred and
twenty one hundred and thirty dollars oil just overnight.

Speaker 30 (40:47):
Oil producer Jay Jung says that if that happens, you'll
wind up seeing a price hack at the pump as well.

Speaker 10 (40:52):
If you do see prices go up, it will have
a trickle down effect. It has to be no question
about it. How fast I don't know.

Speaker 30 (41:00):
You also warned that prices jumping could create on stability
for producers who might overinvest just to see prices fall again.

The statewide average price for gasoline shot up four cents

demand for homes is dropping, at least until mortgage rates
drop as well. Now, the mainstream media wants you to

Six oh seven is our time here in Houston's bore news.
A right question today to answer you go to the
iHeartRadio AP. We don't normally do a super serious question,
but this is this is about serious as it gets,
and it seems like the right time to ask it,
because politicians are all weighing in on this. Pundit's political

(43:14):
pundits are all weighing in on this. Tucker Carlson is
against this. Steve Bannon is against this. I don't know
what President Trump will ultimately decide to do. I do
know he's a man of action, and I do know
that if we were to give Israel a couple of
bucker Buster bombs, then they would stand a much greater

(43:37):
chance of being able to wipe out Iran's nucular program.
If it's come to this, If it's if they have
come that close, I'd like to think we can all
agree that the last thing this world needs is Iran
with a nuclear weapon. We should do something to help Israel,
and that seems to be the simplest, easiest thing to
do is to give them the equipment they need and

(43:59):
they won't have themselves, in order to be able to
have a fair shot at eliminating Iran's nuclear program. But
I'm leaving that question to you. How far should we
go to help Israel with Iran? You go to the

think well, I don't think we want to go there.

Now here in Houston's morning News, it's closing time for
Texas GOP primaries. Brandon Waltens joins us at the Texas Scorecard.
I know the Republican Party had talked about doing it.
What took them so.

Speaker 42 (48:56):
Hat well, I mean a lot of it was waiting
on the legislature right to pass a law that would
do this, which will probably be the easier way to
do it. Just as a matter of background, right now,
we currently have open primaries in Texas, which means that
if you're going to vote in the primary election, essentially
you come and you say, you know, on the day
of I want to vote in the Republican primary, or

(49:19):
I want to vote the Democrat primary, which means that
basically you can, you know, vote in one one year,
vote the other the other year. As a practical consideration,
what it actually means is that we have seen in
many races that you have some races decided because you
have Democrat voters voting in the Republican primary to vote

(49:40):
for the less conservative candidate, especially in like a safe
red district where they think their vote will matter more.

Speaker 4 (49:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (49:46):
But does this solve that though, Brendan, Because when if
you have in that scenario, you could be a Democrat
and still vote in the Republican primary. You just can't
vote in the Democrat primary. But maybe he didn't need
to vote in the Democrat primary because there's only one
person running, or or you know that person doesn't stand
a chance of winning anyway unless you have a weaker

(50:08):
Republican candidate running, exactly.

Speaker 42 (50:12):
And that's the situation we have now. And so that's
why a lot of people have pushed for closed primaries
like we have in several other states where essentially it's
not a huge barrier, but you need to register with
the party, right say, okay, now I'm actually a registered Republican.

Speaker 12 (50:28):
I'm a registered.

Speaker 42 (50:28):
Democrat, you register with the Secretary of State and then
you're actually affiliated that way. Not Some people say, well
a Democrat could register as a Republican. Well, certainly they could,
but you know, I think it's just you know, trying
to be one step, one way to try to filter
out some of these people who come on the day
of and say, oh wait, no, I want to vote

(50:50):
in the Republican primary. This is something that, like I said,
repartment easier done by legislation. But as you can imagine,
a lot of the manufactors of and primaries are the
people who are in the legislature, and so as such,
we didn't see any legislation move in either the House
or the Senate this last session, and the party is saying, well,

(51:11):
we think we can actually implement this ourselves. We know
that there's probably going to be some legal action against it,
but they are pressing forward.

Speaker 5 (51:22):
All right, Well, we'll see if there's a lawsuit involved
in all this. You know, the primaries are not very
well attended my voters to begin with. It's pretty select
crowd that shows up to vote for primaries. Is there
any concern that by adding this extra hoop of having
to officially register with a state with one party or another,
you're going to have people who are just not going

(51:43):
to take the time or forget to do something like that,
and therefore the attendance for voting at the primary is
going to go down even further than what it already is.

Speaker 42 (51:51):
Well, I think if this is in place in the
upcoming primaries in twenty twenty six, which is the first
year that this would be applicable, I think we'll see
what effect, if any of this has on it. I
think there are a lot of people who you want
to make sure want to vote the Republican proberty, that
want to make sure that their vote counts and is
not canceled out by Democrat voters trying to sabotage their

(52:15):
own votes.

Speaker 5 (52:16):
Good point, Brandon, thanks for joining. I appreciate it. Brandon
Walton's at Texas Scorecard. It six twenty six. Time to
take a look at your money. As we check in
again with Jeff Bellinger and Jimmy.

Speaker 24 (52:26):
The Federal Reserve wraps up two days of policy talks today.
Economists have no doubts infest rates will be left unchanged,
but they will be parsing the statement released by central
bankers and listening intently to Chair Jerome Powell's news conference.
They want clues to when rates might be lowered. Revisions
to the government's guidelines on drinking are reportedly under consideration.

(52:49):
Reuter's reports the long standing recommendation that adults limit alcohol
consumption to one or two drinks per day should be
or could be eliminated. New guidance would advise people to
drinking moderation or limit alcohol intake. Stock market futures are

News Radio seven forty k TRH. It's time now for

(54:40):
the news. Here's Cliff Saunders.

Speaker 6 (54:42):
Six thirty one on KTRH. Our top story this hour.

Speaker 43 (54:46):
The people in this country are war fatigued, and we
want to help Israel as much as possible. I think
they can do the job on their own, with the
help of intelligence and US given missiles and things like that.

Speaker 6 (54:58):
Alabama Senator Tommy Tubberville on Fox Business. The Wall Street
Journal reports that President Trump is considering all options, including
a strike on Iran, Trump calling for that country's unconditional
surrender to Israel. Meantime, the Iranians continue to fire missiles
at the Jewish State. As a result, the American embassy

(55:19):
in Jerusalem has been closed through Friday. At seven o'clock,
We're going to tell you how this is impacting the
price of oil and where that might be going. The
Federal Reserve ends it's June meeting with a decision on
interest rates at one o'clock this afternoon, with President Trump
applying pressure on Chairman Jerome pal for cuts.

Speaker 22 (55:39):
If we cut our interests by one point for years,
we save three hundred bision.

Speaker 6 (55:45):
Powell is expected to hold the line on interest rates
for now. Despite the economic doom in gloom from the
mainstream media, Trump keeps winning when it comes to inflation.

Speaker 11 (55:56):
That is the truth, says economist e j Antni.

Speaker 8 (56:00):
Month after months, we've gotten very good inflation reports this year,
and now those people have egg on their face, just
like they did under Biden. They were wrong, then, they're wrong.

Speaker 11 (56:09):
Now, and Tony says the winning is happening across the board.

Speaker 8 (56:14):
We've seen energy prices not just stop rising but actually
come down. But overall, what we've really seen for most
consumer staples has been the increases have stopped.

Speaker 11 (56:23):
And that means no more inflation in the future. Jeff Biggs,
News Radio seven forty KTIH.

Speaker 6 (56:31):
Stock futures are flat across the board this morning, after
a day of losses yesterday on Wall Street six point
thirty three on KTRH. While the Senate works on President
Trump's budget plans, Democrats are criticizing Republicans for plant cuts
to medicate. Senate majority of Leader John Thune told KTRH
is Sean Hennity. There's a reason for this.

Speaker 28 (56:51):
Is designed to help out, you know, pregnant moms and
disabled and elderly Americans. That's what medicaid is there for.
It's gotten way out of contact.

Speaker 6 (57:00):
The proposal would reimburse Texans the eleven billion dollars spent
on Operation Lone Star to secure the border under the
Joe Biden administration. More on that at seven o'clock. DHS
Secretary Christy Noam taken to the hospital yesterday because of
an allergic reaction. We still don't know what led to this.
It's now six thirty four. Democrats continue to fall on

(57:23):
over California Senator Alex Padilla for his stunt last week
crashing a news conference on the riots that Noaen was holding.
Texas Congressman Lance Goodin says Padilla deserves none of this praise.

Speaker 4 (57:35):
He wasn't doing his job.

Speaker 44 (57:37):
He was in California looking for a stunt that he's
since been raising money off of. And the only thing
that we've done by playing into his hands is that
we're still talking about. It's so shame on us in
that regard, But here we are.

Speaker 4 (57:47):
Gooden on Fox.

Speaker 6 (57:49):
Meantime, not every Californian once open borders. Even Trump critic
and former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, agrees with the deportations, and
he disagrees with the riots.

When you come to America, your guest, and you have
to behave leg a guest.

Speaker 6 (58:05):
Arnold on the View, Shocking the openly Left View, hosts
the video on our Facebook and X page. It's now
six thirty five here at home. The Texas Republican Party
is moving ahead with closing primaries, something voters have wanted
for years.

Speaker 31 (58:21):
We expected our legislators to handle it, as we talk
to them all the time, and there were bills filed
in support of this. Unfortunately, those bills didn't even get
a committee hearing.

Speaker 6 (58:32):
Texas GOP chair Abraham George says they'll go to court
to close the primaries and it might help out to
weed out some of the week Republicans currently in the
state House. Meantime, the governor is hitting in a special
session in Austin. Governor Greg Abbott told the Harris County
GOP we may not be done yet when referring to
the legislature Abbot's side of the failure to pass a

(58:53):
ban on taxpayer funded lobbying. But Texas political consultant Bill
Miller predicts something bigger could be on the docket.

Speaker 4 (59:00):
Think it'll be multiple items.

Speaker 32 (59:01):
But if he calls people back, I think it'll be
for redistressing, not about tech surve found the lab and
not about anything else. I think here's the IBAF.

Speaker 20 (59:09):
I'm going to bring him back.

Speaker 4 (59:10):
We're going to redistricting crime.

Speaker 41 (59:11):
Create Abbit has until this Sunday to sign or veto
bills from the regular session, and is expected to make
an announcement after that. Cory Yolson, Who's Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 6 (59:21):
The governor, though, still hasn't given us a real clue
as to what he will do with the statewide ban
on THHC that passed the legislature. Ether Fazzio with the
Texas Cannabis Policy Center says it targets products already legal
under state law toptfully.

Speaker 34 (59:36):
The governor looks at those numbers, he looks at the
facts of what the implications of these bills are, and
he takes us in a different direction, and a direction
of regulation rather than prohibition.

Speaker 6 (59:47):
He adds that the cannabis industry has created tens of
thousands of jobs and brings in billions to the state economy.
The ban is getting criticized by veterans, farmers, and small
business owners. Six point thirty seven, the as Es blow

Speaker 5 (01:00:26):
Next on the ten, Oh yeah, bringing me down six
thirty eight is our time here in Houston's boring news.
I don't know if I love New York anymore. I mean,
it's a fun place to visit, but it's hard for
me to feel the least bit sorry for a city
that elects the kind of politicians in a state, for

(01:00:48):
that matter, that elects the kind of politicians they elect.
You know, at some point time you go say, you
know what, you get what you deserve. So are they
going to get what you deserve this time around? For mayor? Well,
first of all, the leading candidate is a is a
governor who left in disgrace for Governor Andrew Cuomo. But
right behind him, right behind him and gaining ground is

(01:01:12):
New York assembly Man Zo ran Mandanny. Who the hell
is Zo ran Mandani? Right, Well, here's all you need
to know. He's got a lot of support from AOC
because he's a socialist. And here's a little bit of
his campaign ad in some reaction on the five to
the fact that you could end up with a socialist

(01:01:33):
mayor in New York.

Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
Jan as the next New York City and as mayor,
I will create a network of city owned grocery stores.

Speaker 13 (01:01:40):
I'll make childcare available to all New Yorkers at no costs.

Speaker 4 (01:01:45):
Brag, what could go wrong?

Speaker 23 (01:01:46):
I think I'm all in for Zorin.

Speaker 4 (01:01:48):
I am too. I would love to see social workers
instead of cops.

Speaker 46 (01:01:51):
Instead of handcuffs and pepper spray. They could have They
can bring pictures of their cats and their Dave Matthew CDs.

Speaker 4 (01:01:57):
That'll do it.

Speaker 46 (01:01:59):
I feel like the Democrat Party is on a Kamakaze mission,
you know, instead, if the party's going to go down,
we're going to take the whole ship with us, the
remaining saying Democrats, if there are any dresser car you
got to weigh the cost of sticking with these social
justice suicide bombers because.

Speaker 4 (01:02:16):
Nobody wants this.

Speaker 46 (01:02:18):
It used to be cities were actually an actual sanctuary
where you married commerce with security, safety and numbers. You
could do business. It wasn't like the Wild West. Now
it's worse than the Wild West. It's a magnet for Mayhem.
Sanctuary cities did that, where the worst behavior is rewarded
and decent people live in terror. They don't even take

(01:02:38):
public public transportation. The left love to say this is
worse than nine to eleven, whether it's January sixth or
Trump's ree election. I'm telling you, man, the Democrats under
built of Blasio managed to do to New York City
what al Qaeda never could do, which is destroy our
will to fight and destroy our will to live. If
this guy even gets close to being elected, dude, you're

(01:02:59):
going to see this.

Speaker 4 (01:03:00):
You're gonna see this go to hell.

Speaker 5 (01:03:02):
Unbelievable though he wants to. He wants the city to
run the grocery stores. This is like, this is this
might be more communism than socialism. Free, free daycare for
everybody except for the people, of course, who are paying
for all of it. Forgot that part of it. Yeah,
government run everything. Six forty time for traffic and weather together.

at this point in time we can just basically say
it's going to be partly coddy to mostly sunny with
a chance of afternoon shower storm until September.

Speaker 35 (01:04:06):
That might be the case, and hopefully hopefully we stay
away from you know, those things that kind of pop
up in the Gulf every now and again.

Speaker 5 (01:04:14):
Maybe stay away from those, But right now that stuff's
all the Pacific. It can stay there as far as
I'm concerned. Yeah, I agree, I agree.

Speaker 35 (01:04:20):
So yeah, nothing nothing very quiet in the Atlantic and
the Gulf for now. And I think those have both
been open storms that we've seen so far in.

talkback button, get up to the thirty seve first thing
where you're calling from the question of the day today
is how much help should we give Israel? Should we
give them bunker buster bombs and whatever else they need
to deliver those bombs as the best chance of derailing

(01:05:14):
Iran's nuclear program? Should we ever consider sending troops? What
I mean, we're the Great Satan, so we're we're in
the crosshairs as much as Israel is. How much help
should we give them? And what should the limits be? Again,
you go to the iHeartRadio app to answer that question
of KTRH. Share some more talkbacks with you coming up next,

(01:05:35):

Speaker 1 (01:07:01):
Bomb bomb bomb Iran.

Speaker 5 (01:07:06):
I mean, you have to give Israel credit. They have
done a great job with precision preci A little be
easy for me to say precision bombing of targets, including
some of the military heads in Iran and some of
the softer military targets for their nuclear program. At the

(01:07:27):
end of the day, they have to be able to
basically get into a mountain, you know, built into a
mountain is their major nuclear research facility. And you're not
going to completely wipe out their nuclear program without wiping
that out. And that's where the bunker buster bombs come in.
Ted Cruz thinks it's a good idea. I think it's

(01:07:48):
a good idea. Question is what do you think we.

Speaker 47 (01:07:52):
Should go all the way to help Israel. Israel has
been our ally for decades and we should not let
up now in our support for them, and absolutely not.
Iran does not deserve a nucular weapon, nor can they
be trusted is there are dozens of countries that they
would obliterate with the nuclear weapons that they were going

(01:08:12):
to acquire within six months if no action was taken
against them.

Speaker 18 (01:08:16):
Jimmy, this is Aaron from Montgomery. I don't think we
should assist the Israelis with the war. However, if the
factory just blew up on its own, we could always
claim we didn't know anything about how it happened.

Speaker 21 (01:08:30):
Good morning, Jimmy.

Speaker 17 (01:08:32):
I've always been opposed on the idea of getting into
someone else's battles. I understand that Israel is our ally,
but we should not be fighting their fight.

Speaker 8 (01:08:47):
That's why I say no.

Speaker 5 (01:08:49):
Okay, but do keep this in mind. We are the
great Satan to Iran. If they get a nuclear weapon
and they find a way to deliver to the shores
of the United States, you think for one minute they
wouldn't do that. And if that's the case, isn't that
our problem?

Speaker 4 (01:09:08):

Speaker 4 (01:12:03):

Speaker 6 (01:12:03):
We're sponsored by Shampis John Dear this morning. The Middle
East is where we're focusing on this morning, as oil
prices are up to nearly seventy five dollars a barrel
this morning, thanks to the Israel and Iran conflict and
concerns that prices because of this could get as high
as one hundred and twenty dollars a barrel.

Speaker 10 (01:12:21):
That's oil and gas producers sixty seventy bucks. Is great
for us, gives us to the bility, gives us something
to go off of. But when you get to above
eighty one hundred and one hundred and twenty and you
can't find services to drill wells or you're paying double
for things.

Speaker 6 (01:12:33):
Oil producer Jay Young also pointed out that a spike
that big in the cost of oil would also lead
to huge spikes at the pump. There is a split
inside the Republican Party as to what President Trump should
do about all of this. Texas Senator Ted Kruz thinks
we should be helping Israel. Others say, no, you don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:12:52):
The population of the country you seek to topple. How
many people living around nine eighty two million?

Speaker 21 (01:12:58):
Okay, how could you not know that?

Speaker 5 (01:13:02):
I don't sit around memorizing population table.

The Israeli security Cabinet met to determine the next steps
in the war against Iran. It comes as the IDF
continues to strike targets across that country, taking out what
they say are forty percent of those ballistic missile launching units.
Despite the ongoing Israeli strikes Iran is still launching waves
of ballistic missiles, sending millions of people into bomb shelters.

How to do.

Speaker 20 (01:13:52):
We just need to be allowed to do it.

Speaker 6 (01:13:53):
CBP Chief Mike Banks on Fox moments ago. The Trump
administration did not release one single solitary illegal alien into
the country in May compared to the sixty two thousand
released by Biden in May of last year. Meantime, we
had more Democrat grand standing in sanctuary cities. Yeah, that

(01:14:15):
was chaos, as the New York City controller Brad Lander,
running for mayor by the way, was arrested for trying
to shield an illegal alien from being detained. But there's
more proof that deportations work. Just don't count on the
mainstream media to let you know about it.

Speaker 11 (01:14:30):
The US is on track for the lowest murder rate ever.

Speaker 12 (01:14:35):
One way to keep from being deported is not to
get arrested.

Speaker 11 (01:14:39):
That is John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center.

Speaker 12 (01:14:44):
It's not just the criminals that they're deported, it's even
the criminals that they haven't been able to find yet
to deport. There's a lot of evidence that they're laying low.

The Senate votes on this later this month, but Kentucky
Senator Ran Paul is still a no vote.

Speaker 14 (01:15:41):
Congress is terrible with money. They're irresponsible. We've accumulated thirty

Speaker 16 (01:16:17):
I've been saying this for, you know, since he was candidate,
Joe Biden, that he's not physically or or you know,

It happens here, Youth Radio seven KTRH. Well, this isn't

Seven to eight our time here in Houston's morning News.
It looks like Florida, the State of Florida is offering
ice the use of a piece of land that's in

(01:17:38):
the Florida Everglades. It's not part of the National Park
system there, but it's right next to it, and it's
surrounded by the Everglades and by gators and pythons in
all sorts of things. There's an airstrip there that they
could use to fly ice detainees, and they're talking about

(01:18:01):
building at least temporary structures there that you could house
several hundred or more detainees in a very secure environment.
Here is the report from Fox.

Speaker 49 (01:18:12):
The Florida Attorney General is announcing a brand new proposal
to help ease the pressure on crowded county jails that
right now are being used to hold detained illegal immigrants.
So are on an unused large piece of land. AG
James Upmyer says the potential site would serve as a
three to one immigration enforcement facility. It would house detainees,

(01:18:36):
process legal cases, and serve as a deportation hub. The
reposed integrated federal and state approach includes the construction of
temporary structures and a thousand beds, making it the state's
largest detention facility. This remote area is surrounded by the Everglade,
but it's not part of the.

Speaker 32 (01:18:54):
Everglades Flashport Park.

Speaker 49 (01:18:55):
It was proven because it already has an airscript for
aval and crew apply keeper directly out from here thirty

owned by Miami Dade County. It has been used for
military and law enforcement training in the past, so Upmeyer
says officials are familiar with the area as a Florida

National Guard will play a key role in operation. They
have offered military attorneys to be trained as immigration judges
to expedite the legal process. The proposal is designed to
detain and hold people for weeks or even months during
the immigration process. And Upmyer says this can be a
low cost site due to the natural terrain surrounding it.

Speaker 5 (01:19:38):
Ah huh, there you go. Alligator alcatrazt virtually inescapable, secure site.

that looks too disconcerting at this point, and we're gonna
end up with mainly sunny skies today.

Speaker 4 (01:20:35):
I think that's the case.

Speaker 35 (01:20:37):
Maybe you know, one of those summer typical pop up
guarden variety showers of storms, but for the most part,
mostly sunshine all the way through low nineties. That's the
average high for this time of year, and that's exactly
where we're headed. We could do with a little bit
of the less moisture in the air, and that's going
to drive that heat index up to readings just above
one hundred. So that's going to be some stick shirts

(01:21:00):
and that sort of thing. But other than that, it's
pretty quiet, partly cloudy tonight, low in the upper seventies. Tomorrow,

ON News Radio seven forty kg R H seven twenty
three our time here in Newston's morning news. Speaking of
oil man. This guy's been an oil man his whole life.
His family has been involved in oil. How many generations,
Jay Young? Do you go back as far as you're
involvement in your family's involvement in.

Speaker 10 (01:23:32):
Oil and gas? Those are a great great grandfather. So
there there's four generations. Wow, the goal process that have
seen these prices go up and down so so crazy, I.

Speaker 5 (01:23:43):
Mean like a roller coaster in your lifetime, that's for sure. Well,
here we seem to be on the upswing. Jay, by
the way, is the CEO of King Operating Corporation. We
seem to be on an upswing. Obviously there's a concern
about what potentially happens with the supply if we have
a conflict that shuts down on some of the shipping
lanes in the Middle East.

Speaker 10 (01:24:03):
That's true, you know, and Iran is a big, big
producer O pack third third largest a producer and no
pack and any any disruption at all is just it
just puts us into a end of where do we
get our oil?

Speaker 4 (01:24:16):
Where do we get our oil?

Speaker 10 (01:24:17):
You know, we don't we produce thirteen million barrels oil
a day in the United States. We need twenty twenty
one million barrels today. That demand's not going anywhere anytime soon.
So therefore we've got to have supply from other countries.
We get a majority of our oil from Canada, you know.
But then again there's O Pack and all the different

(01:24:37):
you know, they're they're going to cut back, they're going
to have a they're going to have a meeting here
in July seventh to figure you know, what else is
going on. So you know, there isn't any disruption in
anything with the world. It's it's not good because oil
and gas is all about supplying demand. And if you
can't get your hands on it and the other people,

(01:24:59):
you know, can deliver it to you, they're gonna get
paid more for it. And that's that's kind of the
whole brunt of what goes on, because people are gonna
pay more at the pump. Unfortunately, we don't see it
going down anytime soon.

Speaker 4 (01:25:14):
I don't. I don't think there's going to be a
lot of disruption, you know.

Speaker 10 (01:25:18):
But if there's there's like two islands in the in
the the Persian Gulf over there, and they say that,
you know, if there's if there's even a hint of
a big explosion on one of those two islands, we
could see one hundred dollars oil, one hundred and twenty dollars.

Speaker 4 (01:25:34):
I heard one hundred and thirty dollars oil yesterday, you know.

Speaker 10 (01:25:37):
So it is one of the situations that you know,
we don't want to put ourselves in. But because you know,
like George Bush said years and years ago, two thousand
and six or something, is you know, we have this
this addiction to oil. We need this oil. We need
it and every day it's it's a part of our lives.
And we've got to travel, we've got to go back

(01:25:59):
and forth to work, and we need plastics.

Speaker 4 (01:26:01):
And all the all the products.

Speaker 10 (01:26:04):
Jay.

Speaker 5 (01:26:05):
Yet, let let me ask you this. You know, because
one of the things the past administration did was they
depleted the Strategic Olid Reserve. We have about half in
the Strategic Olid Reserve that we used to have. We
haven't done anything to obviously now it's not the right time,
but we haven't done anything to replace it yet. Not
that not that there's enough oil on the Strategic Oli
Reserve that carries for very long, right.

Speaker 10 (01:26:28):
Right, yeah, if well, if we if we shut down
let's say all of our we need seven eight million
barrels a day from other countries and we can get
it from Canada, so I don't Yeah, the strategic reserve
would be great, you know, if if we needed three
to four million barrels a day, but there's there's you know,
but if we needed one hundred percent of the all

(01:26:50):
come down of strategic reserve, we only have like fifteen
to twenty days.

Speaker 4 (01:26:54):
But we're not going to shut down every oil and.

Speaker 10 (01:26:56):
Gas well in the United States, So we have thirteen
millions a day there, Like I said, our need you
know it is twenty million a day, but we wouldn't
shut down on our state stuff. So we I think
we're okay there. We hate to go to it because
that strategic is not for it's for war and things
like this.

Speaker 5 (01:27:16):
Well, and that's the problem. That's the problem with the
last administrations. They used it to try to artificially bring
down the price of oil. And that's how got to
beleeve to be in with I have believe that that
for now, sir, But always good to talk to you.
Take care, Jay Young, CEO King operating corporation. At seven

the end of the June meeting of the Fed. Don't
get your hopes up, though. Heritage Foundation economist EJ. And
Tony says, nothing is going to change.

Speaker 8 (01:30:22):
All of the indicators are more in favor of an
interest rate cut today than they were in the fall
of last year, right before the election, and that's when
the Fed cut rates in order to try to get
their preferred ganded across the finish line. I don't know
how you can look at that and say it's anything
but political.

Patrise Lee.

Speaker 5 (01:35:12):
Do you remember Patrice Lee Houston Water Department stole like
seven hundred thousand dollars in taxpayer money. Was convicted, sentenced
to ten years. Do you know that she could get
out of jail, get prolled as early as five months
what here's the report from our television partner, KPRC too.

Speaker 51 (01:35:36):
Harris County judge sentenced Patrise Lee to ten years in
prison in February. We were there in court when it happened.
Lee was charged with engaging and organized criminal activity, abuse
of official capacity, and four counts of bribery for orchestrating
a kickback scheme we uncovered that cost the City of
Houston millions of dollars. The Texas Rangers say Lee gave

(01:35:58):
waterline repair cons to family and friends in exchange for
a cut of the money. At the beginning of this year,
Lee pleaded guilty to one count of bribery in exchange
the district attorney dropped all of the other charges against her,
and she agreed to the ten year prison sentence. So
how does ten years become five months? In Texas, non

(01:36:20):
violent offenders only have to serve a fourth of their sentence.
Lee got credit for the two hundred and fifty days
she sat in jail waiting for a trial, and once
she got to prison, she gets credit for good time,
essentially two to three days credited for every day she's
actually served. Crime victim's advocate Andy Kahn says, even if

(01:36:41):
she has denied parole this year, the Board of Pardons
and Paroles would have to review her case every year.
But Texas lawmakers just passed Senateville fifteen oh six that
allows the board to use their own discretion and delay
considering inmates for parole for up to five more years.

Speaker 48 (01:37:00):
There are certain cases that don't merit being looked at
every year.

Speaker 4 (01:37:05):
This is one of them. I get it, it's classified
as non violent.

But you hurt so many people, and so many people

in a trusted position.

Speaker 4 (01:37:19):
So should you be reviewed every year? No?

Speaker 5 (01:37:22):
Hell no, And you need to serve well. I think
you need to serve all ten years, certainly don't need
to be eligible parole every year. What do you think
we'd have a even for non violent offenders, we'd have
a minimum amount of time you'd have to serve. I
mean that's a lot more than that seven forty time

Time to check in with Jeff Eno and talk about
a typical Houston summer day. That's what we're getting today.

Speaker 35 (01:38:18):
That is definitely at mostly sunny and low nineties. That
is right where we are supposed to be for this
time of year, and it is a little sticky at
heat indecks reading up to around one oh three today,
and on radar there are some light showers kind of
surrounding the city, just popping up here and there. Some
of this rain may show up on radar but not
actually hit the ground, but you may run into one

(01:38:41):
of those stray showers of storms. Tonight, partly cloudie, overnight
low in the upper seventies. And then tomorrow we'll do
it again, mostly sunny, slight chance of afternoon showers and
thunderstorms back up to the low nineties for the high
with the heat index and the low one hundreds. And
for good measure, let's do that again on Friday.

You know a bank should be personal enough that when
you do the rare occasion you walk into the lobby,
they know who you are. You should always be treated
like a customer, better yet, like a member versus a customer.
You want to be treated like you belong to that organization,
and you do. At shell FCU, a credit union is

Speaker 5 (01:49:01):
Seven fifty one is our time here in Houston's Born News.
As I said, the Federalist has a story they've written
that says that, with deportations on the rise, the US
is on track for the lowest murder rate on record. Now,
what do you read into that? I would read into
that that we had a lot of illegal aliens committing
murders in this country. John Lott Junior, joins, US president

(01:49:22):
of the Crime Prevention Research Center. Is that true, John,
Did we have that many murders committed by illegals?

Speaker 12 (01:49:29):
Oh, we don't have any official records that go and
count the number of murders by illegals. We know generally,
during the end of the Biden administration, we had put
out a report indicating for some of the illegals that
were in the country what the crime rate was. So
there were seven point four millions so called non detained

(01:49:53):
illegal aliens, and of those about six hundred and sixty
two thousand, ninety percent had criminal records in their home countries.
The problem is, there are many reasons to believe that
that's a big underestimate. One of the reasons is the
number of countries like Venezuela, for example, would not cooperate

(01:50:15):
and identifying the criminal records for those individuals. The other
thing is almost all those individuals were illegals, were people
that had voluntarily turned themselves in at the border. Presumably
those aren't the ones that you should be most concerned about.
The so called two million plus guideways the court during

(01:50:37):
the Bide administration, people that we saw coming across the
border but were unable to catch, plus the millions more
that we didn't even see. We had seventy six percent
of the border agents that would normally be guarding the
border have been pulled off of that duty and instead
been used to go and process the illegals who had
voluntarily turned themselves in. And on top of that, you

(01:51:02):
had about a third of the passive monitoring equipment along
the border was broken during the Biden administration and they
had not tried to fix it anyway. So there are
large portions of the border that were we had neither
humans nor passive monitoring equipment to chuck. So we have
no idea how many more millions, but those are the

(01:51:23):
ones that presumably had a reason for not kind of
voluntarily turning themselves in, you know, and getting the twenty
five hundred dollars prepaid credit card or the food and
housing and other benefits, you know, cell phones, other benefits
that were there.

Speaker 5 (01:51:41):
Let me let me let me quickly ask you, because
we're up at the end of the show here, I
want to ask you as well if you could maybe
maybe comment a little bit on what's been going on
with our court system. I would love to know. I
don't know if you folks keep statistics on this, but
I would love to know how many repeat offenders it
relates to murders or use murders that have been let

(01:52:01):
out on personal recognizance bond or low bond and repeat
their crimes. How many murders we can attribute or how
many murders we can eliminate potentially by by keeping these
people locked up when they're charged with a capital crime.

Speaker 12 (01:52:17):
Unfortunately, there's no national numbers that are kept on that. Obviously,
one can go and point to various local data and
there's you know, the issue is you have a very
small percentage of people, you know, about five percent who
commit about eighty percent of the violent crime that occurs,

(01:52:38):
and you know, those people just keep cycling through the
system all the time, and you know, if you don't
go and make sure that those individuals are locked up. Obviously,
Harris County has had a number of situations as well
as other places where they have let people out without.

Speaker 4 (01:53:00):
Keeping them for bail.

Speaker 12 (01:53:03):
And so you know, you can have a big impact
on crime numbers just by making sure that those particular
individuals are detained and we've caught them for a crime.

Speaker 5 (01:53:14):
I would think so, John, Thank you appreciate your time
this morning. John Lodd, Junior President of the Crime Prevention
Research Center. All right, hey, time to pack my bags.
We've got a group of listeners. We're going to Greece
and we leave tomorrow. So for all of you who
