Democrats are so good at addressing the problems, they just

Jeff Biggs, News Radio seven forty K thiery, your midterm
ballot's going to look a lot different than you thought
it might, with forty members of Congress either leaving office
earlier not running for reelection at all. Rice as Mark
Jones says, many of them are reading the tea leaves.

You are seeing some Republicans make the decision to retire,
in part because they're already thinking about it. What has
pushed them to formally retire is the growing belief that
the Republican Party is going to be in the minority
come January of twenty twenty seven.

Which he says is why the President is pushing states
like Indiana to follow Texas and redraw their maps. The
fight over healthcare will come to a head tomorrow. Senate
will vote on a reem package led in part by
Louisiana Senator doctor Bill Cassidy. Ktrh's Buck Sexton says anything's
better than Obamacare. The whole system is a redistribution of

wealth via healthcare. In other words, socialism. It's now five
oh four here at home. Texas Governor Greg Gabbott is
pushing his new property tax plan, hoping to address something
that Republicans have tried for years to solve.

So why is this new plan any different than what
we've seen from Republicans before.

Speaker 12 (04:28):
The governor's tax plan marries tax relief with tax reform,
and that's a very important development.

Speaker 11 (04:36):
James Quintero with the TPPF says that reform finally targets
a key driver of local property tax hikes.

Speaker 12 (04:42):
The spending Institute, a local government spending limit put reasonable
boundaries on how fast budgets can grow.

Speaker 11 (04:51):
Quintero added that he thinks there's enough demand from the
voters to actually get this done. In Austin, Ethan Buchanan
News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 5 (04:59):
Texas Lieutenant go Dan Patrick's got his own plan for
this issue. He calls it Operation Double Nickel. It would
freeze property tax appraisals at the age of fifty five
instead of sixty five. That means for an extra ten
years your values are frozen. You don't ever have to
worry about appraisals anymore. He also predicts that in the
next few sessions, school property taxes will be completely eliminated

(05:20):
by the homestead exemption. Overnight futures are down slightly as
we rate an interest rate decision from the Federal Reserve
coming up at about one o'clock this afternoon. Trump's energy
policies are working. We now have some of the lowest
gasoline prices in four years. The average across Houston this
morning to forty nine a gallon today.

Speaker 13 (05:40):
Pretend and Trump came out, ran on drill, baby drill,
and he stated very clearly he was going to get
gasoline prices down, and he succeeded.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
Fox's Phil Flynn also attributes the drop in price to
Trump's foreign policy. There's also this, Americans are pumping their brakes.
I'm buying elect cars.

Speaker 14 (06:02):
Evs have always been significantly more expensive, so this isn't surprising.

Speaker 15 (06:06):
In fact, they were so expensive that we had to
use taxpayer money to subsidize the cost of those cars.
Now that that's over, many people are looking at that
and saying, what am I getting out of this.

Speaker 14 (06:15):
Brian Moody of Kelly Blue Book says the elimination of
these subsidies will make evs cheaper, and it could spur
a big year coming up.

Speaker 15 (06:23):
I think most people are looking at not only the price,
but the convenience of it. And I think the twenty
twenty six is really going to be the year of
the hybrid.

Most people want an efficient car, but newer gas models

As we get started this morning here in Houston's Morning news,
Federal Reserve revealing it is winding down. Winding down it
means it's eliminating over the process of time, how much time,
I don't know. It is eliminating the national system that

processes paper checks between banks, really signaling a potential long
term retree from paper based payments. Now, when you say
paper based payments, are you including cash because cash is
technically made out of paper, right, That's that's special paper,

(08:14):
but it's paper. Are we going? Is this another step
to going all electronic? That scares me? That still scares me,
The idea that we could go all electronic, that you
can't pay for something in cash. That, uh, I guess
I can. I can live without the paper check, you know.
I this old dinosaur has been pushed enough into the

future now where I don't really There's still a few
people I write checks too, you know, mainly mainly in
the in the services industry, but I don't have to.
And in back now kind of the first question that
I asked before I pay somebody for a service. I
had had a company that came and did some painting
at the house. And you know, do you do you

take Venmo or Zell, you know whatever it is that
you have with your particular bank, and most everybody does that.
Now you don't necessarily have to either pay cash or
write a check. You could pay with Venmo or pay
with Zell. But the thing that always scares me about
the electronic thing is that is the fear I just

can't shake in my head that something could go wrong
and I'm gonna wake up one morning and I'm gonna
look into I'm gonna look online at my bank account.
There could be no money in there, that it disappeared,
either somebody stole it all or there was a glitch
with the bank and they think I don't have any
money in there, but I do. That's the part that

scares me. I guess I'll have to work through it.

So when it comes to a Medicaid, first of all,
it's a very complicated thing. If the Medicare Medicaid was simple,
then we wouldn't have to be making phone calls every
year to big decisions about if you're on Medicare Medicaid,
to make those kinds of decisions about where you get

your coverage from and all that kind of stuff. It
not only is a complicated but evidently is also convoluted.
It's apparently pretty easy to steal money from this federal program.
I think it's probably pretty easy to steal money from
most federal programs. Look at what's happened in Minnesota. They
had to get to the point of having billions of
dollars stolen before anybody even bothered to take a look

at it. Doctor Oz yesterday claiming anyway that he's going
to get tough on Minnesota and other states where there's
medicaid fraud. That story's coming up next. First, though, traffic

gets me animated. It's not just in Minnesota. It's the

worst that's ever been in Minnesota. But you go to
Los Angeles, you've got these mafia ethnic mafia groups. They
are able to pack into our hospice system. They're destroying
home healthcare. They're five times more durble medical equipment suppliers
in Florida than are McDonald's we think the Cuban government's
involved there. We broke up a fifteen billion dollar multinational

criminal organization based out of Russia. But again, if they
get the money, it doesn't matter. We have to stop
the money from leaving the building. And that's what President
Trump wants us to do by working across agency agencies
to shut down these scandalous efforts.

Nicholas Maduro is very scared and he should be.

White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt. The US deployed two
fighter jets over the Gulf of Venezuela yesterday, the closest
known approach of American military aircraft to Venezuelan airspace. Now,
despite left wing opposition, recent polls show that sixty two
percent of Americans support attacking drug traffickers.

Fox is Aisha Hasny reporting the President rallied in Pennsylvania
last night, mainly to push his economic success, but he
gave an update as well on National Guard soldier Andrew Wolf,

weeks ago.

Today, I got a call that he got up from bed.

is at an all time low, but the Feds aren't

Construction of a new smart wall in South Texas is
now set to begin. Chief Patrol Agent Jesse Munoz says
they're leveraging technology to catch border crossers. It'll be a
double wall with cameras and access roads because there are
some areas that are very hard to get to. Some
six thousand new border patrol agents replaced along the southern border.

Some will be operating counter drone technology targeting smugglers.

That's ktrh's rex Oh State lawmakers get an update on
the screwworm fly. The invasive insect that eats the flesh
of livestock, has been detected about seventy miles south of
the Texas border.

Those cases have been related to cattle movement, not a
natural increase as far as where the fly is moving
further north.

Michael Schmeyer with the USDA told lawmakers that hundreds of
traps have been put into place along the border meantime
clean up on Aisle Crockett, the Texas Democrat Senate campaign,
is only days old. In CNN, Yes Liberal CNN called
her out for saying last year that Hispanic voters had
a quote slave mentality.

suburban voters for the working class, for for the popular
hillers in America who are often forgotten. But the good
news for Republicans is that there's a lot more of
those popular fillers out there. They're just tougher to get
to the polls because they're they're they're more disillusioned. They're
they're more dejected. They they're they they they're the ones

that believe that the system is most corrupted and they're
least likely to participate. So as long as Republicans don't
lose their heart and they don't sell out, Republican populism
is here to stay.

there last night. He's out there talking about affordability because

the affordability problem? Because I think people people don't realize
he's only been in office for a year, and yet
