you can eat. Details in the minutes ahead. You're in
Houston's Morning News. First, we're checking out that morning drive
for the first time in a Monday sky Mike's here, dude,
two eighty eight.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
We've gotten north by southbound at Yellowstone. That is a
heavy truck.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
He is stall. He is taking up that right side.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
They may have to take a right lane on the
outbound side, a real lane.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
For now, we're getting by.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
In fact, the inbounders you can't even see it. And
if you're on the toll lanes, you're much more concerned
about your loss of money. For now, I'm in the

Center from our KTRH Top Tax Defenders twenty four hour
wathers under partly to mostly Claudie Breezy Hi today right
around ninety. We'll get Terry Smith in here with the
complete forecast in about nine minutes. Right now, it's eighty
at your officials Severe Weather station, News Radio seven forty KTRH.
It's time now for the news. Here's Cliff Saunders.

Speaker 5 (01:19):
Good morning, Jimmy, and good morning everyone. It is five
oh one on KTRH, our top story.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Mister Chair.

Speaker 6 (01:26):
On the vote, there were seventeen eyes, sixteen no's and
four President.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
The eyes have it, the motions agreed to. The one
Big Beautiful Bill Act is ordered.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
And with that, the Trump Budget Bill to enact his
agenda passes a key hurdle in the House Budget Committee
last night. Texas Congressmanship Roy was one of four present
votes on X. Roy said he agreed to advance the
bill quote out of respect for the Republican Conference.

Speaker 7 (01:52):
And the President.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
So what comes next for what the President has called
his Big Beautiful Bill.

Speaker 8 (01:58):
The plan is to move it to the was Committee
by midweek and to the House floor by the end
of the week, so we meet our initial, our original
Memorial Day deadline.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
Now, Speaker Mike Johnson five h two. Now former President
Joe Biden diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer which has spread
to his bones. Fox's doctor Mark Siegel, though, has questions.

Speaker 9 (02:19):
A lot of times we find an elevation in prostate
specific energe a PSA, and then we go after it
get an MRI. I mean, he must have had the
best possible care here. I just I'm a little taken
aback that it's this far advanced.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
And a statement President Trump in the first lady said
they hope that Joe has a quote fast and successful recovery. Now,
this announcement comes just two days after the release of
the Biden tapes from his interview with then Special counsel
Robert Herr, where Joe couldn't remember when his son died.

Speaker 10 (02:51):
This is what.

Speaker 11 (02:53):
Twenty seventeen eighteen. Down here, remember in this time, my
son is either.

Speaker 12 (03:05):
Deployed or has dying.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
Actually, bo Biden died in twenty fifteen. It's now five
h three. Former FBI director James Comy is under investigation
for his eighty six forty seven social media post last week.
Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts wants consequences. James Comy is
a liar and he's probably a trader for what he did.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Not just then, but over over many years.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
Texas Congressman August Flugerus co authored a House resolution to
ban Comy from ever working in the federal government again.

Speaker 7 (03:39):
And you remember when the mainstream.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Media used to say all the time that quote, no
one is above the law.

Speaker 7 (03:44):
Heck, it was just last year. Well that's no longer
the case.

Speaker 13 (03:48):
Something that has not gone unnoticed with the media watchdogs.

Speaker 14 (03:53):
If nobody is above the law, then nobody is above
the law.

Speaker 15 (03:56):
Right.

Speaker 14 (03:56):
That should be independent of whether you're a judge, whether
you're a political upon one side or the other. But
that's very clearly not the case.

Speaker 13 (04:02):
That's Bill Dagostino, senior research analyst with NewsBusters.

Speaker 14 (04:07):
It's never really going to change unless all of the
people that are familiar to us as the worst names
in corporate media are no longer in the positions that
they currently occupy.

Speaker 13 (04:16):
He says, it's just the latest example of left wing hypocrisy.
Juff Biggs News Radio seven k TCH our News Time
Now five oh four.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
President Trump says he will speak to Russia's Vladimir Putin
today in the administration's latest attempt to stop the war
in Europe.

Speaker 16 (04:34):
Ultimately, one of the things that could help break this
long jam. Perhaps the only thing that can is a direct,
direct conversation between President Trump and Vladimir Putin.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
Secretary of State Marco Rubio on CBS, the administration says
it's made progress with Iran, but Tran claims the nuclear
enrichment will continue. Quote with or without a deal. Five
ho five. Looking at your money? Trump put Walmart on
blast for raising prices due to tariffs, Trump posting that
the retail giant should quote each the tariffs. Wholesale inflation

(05:08):
unexpectedly fell last month. That's a strong indication Trump is
fixing what Joe Biden broke.

Speaker 17 (05:14):
Coot at home has moderated and in certain areas has
dropped down. You're talking about cooling inflation in the face
of economists telling you that we're in for another inflationary shop.

Speaker 18 (05:24):
And that may not be the case.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
Financial planner Richard Rosso says this also indicates that extra
costs from tariffs are being absorbed by most companies other
than passing it on to you. And these are the
lengths that the mainstream media will go to to try
to make the president look bad. A CNN story admitting
that Trump got egg prices right, but at the same

(05:46):
time claiming that he was lying.

Speaker 19 (05:48):
The story acknowledges egg prices have had their biggest drop
in forty years, but claims Trump was lying when he
said prices were falling.

Speaker 20 (05:56):
Sofy. We ended up getting it right that the egg
prices were coming down, but somehow he was so wrong.

Speaker 18 (06:02):
And that's the line of reasoning that they're going on.

Speaker 20 (06:04):
Logic makes sense.

Speaker 19 (06:05):
Joseph Asquez with the Media Research Center says the story
is an example of the left twisting the news.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
The ingle there.

Speaker 21 (06:12):
Insane amount of chubrids completely precludes them from ever doing
some sort of self reflection.

Speaker 19 (06:17):
Fescuez says this rotten egg report is easily explained by
Trump derangement syndrome. Charles Molino News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
Overnight futures are down three hundred and fifty points so far.
This comes after Moody's downgraded the US credit rating. Treasury
Secretary Scott Bessen told NBC's Meet the Press this is
not on Donald Trump.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
We didn't get here in the past one hundred days.

Speaker 22 (06:41):
It's the Biden administration and this spending that we have
seen over the past four years.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
The same spending that gave us the worst inflation since
the early eighties. The Astros beat the Rangers four to
three yesterday. They are in Tampa tonight. Pregame at five
on Sports Talk seven ninety. First pitch at six oh
five KTRH, Joints in progress at seven. I'm Cliff Saunders
on Houston's News Weather in Traffic station News Radio seven
forty KTRH.

Speaker 23 (07:08):
Now back to Jimmy Barrett and the Houston Morning NEWSED team,
Houston's Morning News.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
All right, do you feel like taking a risk today
with what you eat? Consumer Reports has the ten riskiest
foods you can eat right now? Are they talking about
like puffer fish? Where one of those things where if
you cook it the wrong way, it'll kill you. I
think that's the puffer fish now, much more mundane than that.

(07:37):
This is all based on food related illness. Consumer reports
annual Risky Food Report in April named the ten foods
of twenty twenty four subject to the most recalls and
or associated with the largest illness outbreaks, based salmonella, Listeria
E coli, all the fun stuff. The Conservative course list
was based on a number of illnesses and deaths related

(08:00):
to food contamination, how widespread the outbreaks were, the number
of recalls, in the amount of food recalled based on that,
and revorse orders. Starting at number ten, these are the
ten most most risky things that you can eat. Let's
see how many of these you eat on a weekly basis.
Number ten ready to eat cooked poultry and meat, pre

(08:21):
cooked poultry and meat, organic basil, organic carrots, leafy greens
you know like salad, onions, eggs, kso fresco cheese, raw
dairy cucumbers. And Number one Deli meat. Deli meat. Yeah,

(08:47):
give that huge Deli meat recall that we had. Who
was that Borshead? I think it was Boreshad, Yeah, Boy's
head had the big lysteria outbreak, killed ten people, forced
the company recall seven point two million pounds of product,
also prompted the indefinite closure of an entire plant in
Virginia last summer. Deli meat somewhat of a risky food
often associated with the spread of Listeria, the bacterium that

(09:09):
leads to lysteria poisoning or listeriosis. It's a hardy germ
that can survive in very low temperatures. But thrives in
cool and damp places again and will happily live on
foods in you or your grocery stores storage area, and
the process for mass producing the meat tents itself to
lead to plenty of opportunities for contamination. I think I've

(09:30):
had everything on that list in the last week and
a half, with the exception maybe raw dairy. Yeah, I've
had everything else. I've had a couple of salads. I
didn't have my carrots. Notice also knows the two of
the three vegetables, well, two of the four vegetables on

(09:51):
the list, because the vegetables are cucumbers, onions, leavy greens,
organic carrots, organic basil. The carrots in the basil organic,
So two of the two of the four there were
organic things. Five ten time for traffic and weather together,
it can always be safe. And eat spam from a
can and beef turkey. I don't think those I don't

(10:13):
think either of those things. You've never heard of. Beef
turkey recalls came out, you know what, I that was dangerous.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
When I was a kid, My grandma used to give
me the cake batter, you know, because it has raw eggs.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Raw cake batter. I did I lived. I survived. People.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Let's go put your hard hats on, y'all. We've got
the hard work in east side here. I'm waiting for
one of my tubes here to warm up. If you
remember old TVs, uh, this is inbound. I did east
Freeway inbound at Thompson Road, so I know the laneage.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
It's a try there.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
It is one two left lanes here camera one zero three.

Speaker 18 (10:42):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
If you're playing the home game, Terry and boy, this
is back ups both ways outbound. They're taking one too.
These two lanes right on the inside, so that's going
to back you up from Thompson Road. And then on
the inbound I'm looking eastbound. We've got a left lane.
They're having a respond. It's a bad sign whether having
to respond in both directions elsewhere to ninty. Look out,

(11:04):
this guy is over on the right side. That's a
stall at a swe that's on the inbound side. Watch
out as you're coming over from just pasting the before
forty third. I'm Skymike on the USA Rvresorts dot Com
Traffic Center.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
From r KTRH Top Tax Defenders twenty four hour Weather Center.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Terry is here from the Weather Channel.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
I was going to complain about the wind again, but
then I thought, no, don't complain about that, because the
wind is what's keeping you cool, because well, it's really
that hot.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
At least the wind will help cool you down.

Speaker 24 (11:30):
Yeah, a little bit of a breeze might help, but
you know, the whole thing is it's muggy, right, it's hot, muggy.

Speaker 25 (11:39):
Or cool and muggy, and when you've got.

Speaker 24 (11:42):
That breeze, you just feel it more because of the
muggy weather.

Speaker 25 (11:47):
Well, it's hot, muggy, folks.

Speaker 24 (11:49):
It's going to stay that way for the foreseeable future,
maybe till September.

Speaker 25 (11:54):
Maybe that's when we'll get on our next cold front.
We'll see.

Speaker 24 (11:57):
But we may get a rain dropper too at some
point during the week, but not today. Today, well, we'll
turn out partly cloudy, upper eighties to low nineties this afternoon.
We're flirting with record heat. We'll see if we set
any records.

Speaker 25 (12:11):
Tomorrow.

Speaker 24 (12:12):
There is a twenty percent chance of a thundershower, but
that means most of us are not going to see
anything load upper nineties Tomorrow, Thursday, I should say Wednesday, Thursday,
and Friday, temperatures are going to be in the load
of mid nineties. The only chance of rain I see
later in the week right now is Thursday, and that's
a twenty percent chance of rain, So not much change ourselves.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
A dry spell, don't we yes?

Speaker 25 (12:36):
A little too long of a dry spell?

Speaker 4 (12:38):
Right now eighty at your official severe weather station. News
Radio seven forty KTRH.

News team.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
All the info you need did take on the day.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
So I don't know if you saw or missed this
story over the weekend or not easy to miss obviously
on the weekend when you're doing fun things and not
really paying attention to the news. There was a bomb
explosion outside of a California fertility clinic. Killed one person.
In this case, I believe it was the bomber injured
four others. FBI called it an intentional act of terrorism.
It was because the guy had a manifesto, So why

(13:17):
did he do it? He hates life? Evidently he's a
weird dude. He hates life more than that story coming
up next first, though, we've got a lover of Life, skuy.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Mico Loving life this morning, except on the east side
hard Let's go right to you seven one three two
one two tips.

Speaker 1 (13:35):

the rail right out by the fake town three thirty
ex for then I can westbound traffic is down to
one lane.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
That's not good.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
All right, we're going to be backing up from a McNair.

the interesting thing. It's before three point thirty. So if
you could skip over the three thirty, you're in good.

How I listen to KTRH instead of later.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
By twenty three at time Here in Houston's morning news.
Right so the story with this California fertility clinic bombing suspect.
Why would you if it was an abortion clinic, then
you would surmise that it's somebody who's on the right
side of things, and by right I mean right of center,
well right of center, maybe on the far ride, who
decided that they want to do away with an abortion clinic.

(15:47):
Here's somebody that wanted to do away with a fertility clinic.
What in the world is their motivation? Turns out dude
hates life, just in general, hates life. I'm sure there's
a little bit more to it than that. Hal Kemper
is a national security advisor. Hear what he had what
he had to say, or here's what he did have

(16:08):
to say about this bombing.

Speaker 27 (16:09):
There's a couple of things. One his location. He lived
in twent On Palms, reportedly lived with his mother out there.
His father said he hadn't seen him in a decade,
so he was basically estranged from his father's.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
What sounds like.

Speaker 27 (16:23):
And he he was kind of a not not I
don't know, anti social maybe, but he lived in a
time of an online world.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
He was tied to.

Speaker 27 (16:34):
A young lady that was up in the Pacific Northwest
and somehow in their discussions. Uh there these this what
he calls pro mortalists, this anti life uh sort of
philosophy developed. She was supposed reportedly dead or killed in
an assistant suicide, and they had a pack that he

(16:55):
was going to kill himself. And this was probably part
of his self actualization by doing this. But he was
also aimed at the IVF clinic because he was anti
life and he felt that basically anyone bringing life into
this world was wrong. He was he felt the world
was overpopulated. It's one of the strangest I guess you

(17:16):
could say single issue domestic terrorist movements I've ever seen,
pretty darn small. But in this online world, these very
disparate individuals are.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Somehow able to link up, I.

Speaker 27 (17:27):
Would say, inclusive with his thinking was to destroy what
was in the clinic. Now, fortunately he you know, whereas
it was a pretty pretty big bomb, and those who
have been looking at this that he obviously kind of
knew what he was doing and making a bomb, but
he clearly didn't understand placement of the explosives.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Thank goodness.

Speaker 27 (17:48):
And it did not destroy the laboratory or the lab
setting with the embryos, and and so what he ended
up doing was basically killing himself. He injured some people outside,
but he didn't injury or kill anybody inside the clinic.
But yeah, it was pretty much he've Actually there's a
website that's associated with him, not by.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Name, so part of the investigation.

Speaker 27 (18:10):
That they believe was his, and it was very clear
that he was aiming at this particular clinic.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Okay, great, just another.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
Good lord, just another crazy person, antisocial, no father in
his life, anti life, suicide, suicide packed. Thinks we are
in an overpopulated world, so he wanted to take out
potential future human beings, and the only person he took
out was himself. Five twenty six. Time to take a
look at your money. Good Monday morning to you, Jeff Bellinger, and.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Good morning to you, Jimmy.

Speaker 28 (18:44):
It appears another trading week on Wall Street. We'll get
off to a rough start, but it's not terroriffts that
are on investors' minds today. Movies announced after the markets
closed Friday that the government no longer has its top
triple A credit rating. The agency blamed the growing federal deficit.
Walmart got under President Trump's skin when it warned last
week it will have to hike some prices because of

(19:06):
new tariffs. The President said over the weekend, Walmart made
billions of dollars last year, more than expected. He said
Walmart and China should eat the tariffs and not charge
customers anything. I'm Jeff Bellinger, Bloomberg Business on News Radio

know how much this is costing us? And coming up

Mexican Navy hits the Brooklyn Bridge. Details of the minutes ahead.

(20:04):
You're in Houston this morning. You have a big flag,
he was, the flag was as big as the ships.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Guy, Mike, all right, let's do East Freeway inbound at
right before three thirty.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Now here's the here's the important thing to know.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
It's before three thirty, So if you can get to
three thirty, scramble over that way. Don't get caught in
this much. This is inbound before three thirty. Erect two
left planes. They're having to respond outbound. There's a truck
up on the wall, so we've got big delays both ways.
East text Scott Newkinny.

Speaker 30 (20:34):
Mike, there is a two car.

Speaker 26 (20:37):
I don't know what it is on the far left.

Speaker 30 (20:39):
Plane right before ten when I got there, right as
it was happening.

Speaker 26 (20:43):

here's Cliff Saunders.

Speaker 7 (21:15):
Thank you, Jimmy.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
It's five thirty two. In our top story, Moore Harris
County Democrat Shenanigans Judge Lena Hidalgo is raising eyebrowns with
her request for a twenty three thousand dollars trip to
France for her and three county employees, another example of
wasteful spending. According to Precinct three Commissioner, Republican Tom Ramsey.

Speaker 15 (21:35):
If we'll focus on a white soul spending, get that
under control, we'll add plenty of money.

Speaker 5 (21:42):
By the way, Hidalgo was trying to hide the destination
of this trip at Commissioner's court last week. Meantime, in Washington,
the Trump budget agenda clears a key House committee hurdle.

Speaker 31 (21:53):
House Budget Committee meetings Sunday night, with they moved to
President so called Big Beautiful budget bill out of committee.
Republicans are aiming to deliver the bill to President Trump's
desk by the fourth of July using the budget reconciliation process.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Sue Gusman reporting the vote seventeen to sixteen. Four Republicans
voted present, including Chip Roy of Texas. House Speaker Mike
Johnson says the bill now goes to the Rules Committee.
A House vote is possible by the end of the week.
The Texas congressional delegation wants to get this state paid
back for the money it's spent on the border disaster.

(22:28):
As part of Trump's Big Beautiful Bill.

Speaker 32 (22:31):
Texas lawmakers want to add language that would reimburse the
state some eleven billion dollars that was spent securing the
border during the Biden administration.

Speaker 26 (22:39):
It's not in there yet, but it better be in there.

Speaker 32 (22:41):
CONGRESSMN Toni Gonzalez says there is support for the idea
from House leadership. Over in the Senate, John Cornyan says
he'll vote no on any bill that does not include the.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
Cash that's k Trh's rex oates illegal aliens may no
longer be crossing the border, but the ones that are
here are still costing taxpayers. A bill post in Austin
would give us an annual report.

Speaker 10 (23:02):
This bill would cover how much illegal immigration is actually
costing not just hospital systems, but every avenue, all the
costs associated with education, law enforcement.

Speaker 5 (23:15):
Emin Blair with the Texas Public Policy Foundation says SBA
twenty five has to be heard on the floor by
next Tuesday, it's five thirty four. Well, we had more
unhinged Democrat attacks on President Trump this weekend.

Speaker 11 (23:30):
Donald Trump's modern daga descapo is scooping folks up off
the streets.

Speaker 5 (23:35):
Former vice presidential candidate Tim Wall speaking at the University
of Minnesota Law School graduation. Remember how Walls failed spectacularly
when he tried to load a shotgun last year.

Speaker 7 (23:46):
It went viral.

Speaker 5 (23:46):
Well, Democrat men are continuing to try to fake being
masculine and failing.

Speaker 33 (23:53):
People like Pete Buddhajedge or growing beards, trying to make
up for the loss of the male vote.

Speaker 34 (23:57):
This is supposed to be their attempt to add wooing
or appealing to men. It comes off so fake and
so try hard. I don't think it's working.

Speaker 33 (24:07):
Eddie Scary of the Federalists says this hasn't overshadowed the
party's lack of vision, and they've totally lost the plot.

political analyst Jeff Cruier says Kamala never distanced herself from
her old boss.

Speaker 18 (24:41):
The American people wanted something new, they wanted to change.

Speaker 35 (24:44):
She could have positioned herself as new face, new issues,
new direction, but she didn't and that was a real
critical error. I just think she didn't have the confidence
and that's why she didn't go on interviews.

Speaker 7 (24:56):
He says.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
Harris was already unpopular before she got into the race
and then ran a bad campaign. Just two days after
the release of tapes showing his cognitive decline, the office
of former President Joe Biden announced he has aggressive prostate cancer.

Speaker 36 (25:12):
This office says former President Biden was seen last week
by doctors after urinary symptoms and they found a prostate nodule.
Now they say he's been diagnosed with prostate cancer and
some of those cancer cells have spread to the bone.

Speaker 25 (25:27):
His office said, while.

Speaker 36 (25:29):
This represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the
cancer appears to be hormone sensitive, which allows for effective management.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
This is Houston's Morning News. A little incident that you
might have heard about involving the Mexican Navy. Didn't know
the Mexican government had much of a navy. This one
was a tall sailing ship. So I don't know do
they have like any I'm curious, do they have like

(26:59):
bad ships or anything like that, or is there navy
kind of old school navy. The Mexican Navy tall ship
veered off course struck the Brooklyn Bridge. Two sailors were killed,
several more were injured. Appeared that they hit a part
of the bridge where they couldn't clear it. You know,

(27:19):
the masts were too tall and that's what caused the damage.
Hit the bridge, one hundred and forty seven foot tall mast.
They had decorative lights on, they had this big, huge
Mexican flag. They had navy cadets dressed in white uniforms,
and until all hell broke loose. So I was kind
of curious, you know, is this happened before, Yeah, it's

(27:41):
happened before. This only the third time in history. The
Brooklyn Bridge has been around since eighteen eighty three. Back
in nineteen twenty one, a schooner hit the Brooklyn Bridge
and in nineteen thirty five, a German freighter hit the
Brooklyn Bridge. This is the third time in history this
has happened. Last time was ninety years ago that the

(28:04):
Brooklyn Bridge got hit. I don't think the bridge is
severely damaged. I don't think there's any It looked to
me there's a lot of scaffolding going on, so they
may have been doing some renovation work on it to
begin with, and it looked like maybe the mast hit
some of the scaffoldings, so they for some reason they
veered off course. I'm not sure if they had like
an engine trouble. No, I know it's a sail ship

(28:26):
that they saw have engines to try to you know,
because the sales weren't up. They have engines to guide it.
So I don't know if it was another one of
those engine failure things like we saw happen in Baltimore
maybe five forty time. For traffic and weather together, I
wonder if they post this the height of the bridges.
Surely they do. Somebody out there's like a tugboat captain
or something like they do in the bridges on the interstates.

Speaker 15 (28:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
Yeah, And I'm not saying anything, but I think our
truck drivers will have a comment about.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
This East Freeway. So I've got this up.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
It's on if you're following along at home, it's on
camera one zero three to zero East free Way inbound.
Look out, that's a wreck right before three thirty two
left lines here, trucks up on the wall outbound. That's
a left line too. We're gonna drag it from the bridge.
So the fact that they're working both ways not a
good sign. There's a truck up on the wall here
and it's before three thirty, so hard hats jump on

(29:18):
three thirty and you can get right around this stuff.
On two ninety and one, that is a stall. Which
way we're going. We're going inbound and he's in a
right line. Just look out. He's not causing a big backup.
If you're passing Piemont, you're ready to hit some brakes.
And you've also got Nord Freeway. All morning, Nord Freeway's
been showing a closure on the onlines.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
It's not there.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
I'm not sure why that's there, but this is why
you get your traffic from AM radio. Terry Joe Brad
was on the free iHeartRadio app and he had this.

bring our temperatures down in our minds.

Speaker 7 (30:21):
A little bit nice.

Speaker 25 (30:22):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 24 (30:24):
Well, the warm and muggy weather isn't going to change much.
I've got an eye on this cold front that's going
to be heading our direction tomorrow. It might help to
bring us some rain, but I'm not overly excited about
cooler weather or a lot of rain. Frankly, this time
of year, it's kind of hard to get these fronts
to have much of an impact.

Speaker 25 (30:43):
So today a dry day. It's going to be similar
to yesterday.

Speaker 24 (30:47):
Some clouds early on, then sunny, temperatures today upper eighties
to low nineties. Tomorrow we have a twenty percent chance
of a thunder shower. I think if we're going to
see any rain, it's maybe around the Houston metro area northward.
And temperatures tomorrow are going to be a little bit
warmer ahead of that front. Like everybody's in the nineties.

(31:07):
We may get some upper nineties. Looks like load of
it nineties Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and plenty of sunshine
and not much rain. If we're going to see any rain,
maybe a shower thunderstorm in the afternoon on Thursday.

Speaker 25 (31:19):

Speaker 4 (33:28):
Five fifty two our time here in Houston's borning news Gap.
We've had a high cost of living for years now,
but we have not seen a big spike in the
you know, considerate prices that we're paying. The PPI index
came out and people a little bit surprised by that,
at least according to folks at bright Bart April's inflation numbers.
We're supposed to show that we're bearing the burden of

(33:50):
President Trump's new tariffs, well not yet. We're not join
us to talk about it. Richard Rosso, certified financial plantter.
Of course that doesn't mean six months from we won't
be paying higher prices based on tariffs.

Speaker 18 (34:03):
Well, this is the chapter in the book of TDS
Character Arrangements Center. Remember when our inflation was nine percent, Jeny,
we were told, oh yeah, that there's no inflation. Now
we have no inflation, and we're told that inflation is
going higher tariffs. And I've said this on the show before,
we have written, we've written so much about this that
tariffs do not automatically lead to inflation, especially when there

(34:26):
were deals in the making. So what will happen is
companies will absorb those price increases. That is exactly what
you saw in the PPI. There was margin compression, and
we saw that many of the companies providing supplies to
us for final goods production, they've been eating the costs

(34:48):
for it. Now I don't think they could do that belong,
But you know what happens with squeeze margins. Eventually you
things slow down, right, companies will eat those margins like
what like I could. President Trump came out and said
to Walmart, don't you dare you know you eat those
you eat those price increases. I'm not sure Walmart will
do that. I think they'll try their best, because the

(35:10):
main reason is the consumer is not going to pay it,
nor do they have the cash flow to pay it anymore.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
Right, Well, I saw the CEO. It sounds like he's
trying to brace the you know, consumers of Walmart for
for eventual price increases. But I think you're right. I
think he's going to put that off as long as
he can.

Speaker 18 (35:27):
He's going to put that up. And the fact is
that what's coming, what's becoming clearer, is that we have
deals in the making. So once we start to see
these deals getting signed off, especially that big one with China,
then a lot of this tariff talk of inflation drops off.
But for now you don't see it because the ultimately

(35:48):
the consumer is going to have a very difficult time
to pay them. Now that doesn't mean that's good, because
that means someone's got to eat it, and that means
if you're in the stock market, then you've got to
be prepared for mark margins to thin for publicly traded
companies as well. But for a while, they're able to
absorb it because frankly, they don't have the pricing power

(36:09):
to do it. This is what this all comes down to.
But this talk of this direct line of tariffs to
inflation has to be broken. It's just a narrative. There's
no proof of that, and it's no proof of it
now actually inflation cited lower.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
You're right, there's been nothing but good news as far
as that front goes. Here's my question going forward, though, Richard,
when you get right down to it, I mean, there
are things that are niceties and things that are necessities.
If you are somebody who produces or sells necessities, are
you more inclined to be able to pass those prices

(36:43):
along because people have to buy what it is you
have to sell.

Speaker 18 (36:49):
Well, there is something out there class substitution of goods,
So right, you're talking about fixed expenses, things that you
absolutely need. Most of the inflation that we have seen
is in medical and auto insurance. We know where insurance
rates are right, and those rates are going to continue
to be highed. That's where people feel the pain. But
also as an organization, you, as a consumer with not

(37:11):
as much cash, you substitute goods or you go without it. Oh,
I really would like those bananas. Now, I don't think
I'm gonna eat bananas right now, or you know, I
was gonna buy steak, but I might switch off the chicken.
I mean, you do get this substitution of goods. You
go from brand name to generic. The consumer does these things,
this consumer tick tack toe or this this hot potato

(37:32):
game for a while before they pay the higher prices
because we don't have the cash to pay it. See,
companies know this. So what you might find is they
might raise prices. Walmart can play this shell game with prices.
They could say, well, pool equipment, I might raise I
might raise prices on the pool equipment because I can't

(37:52):
raise prices on tomatoes. In other words, the goods that
you think they might raise prices on, they may not
because they understand the consumer will not pay for it,
especially for goods that they need every day, like food.

Speaker 4 (38:05):
To your point, yeah, makes sense, Richard Rosso. Always makes sense.

reacting on.

Speaker 38 (41:32):
Fox knew exactly what that meant. A child knows what
that meant. If you're the FBI director and you don't

Speaker 5 (41:42):
Texas Congressman August Fluger is one of those who have
co written a resolution that could ban Comy from ever
working again for the federal government. With more Democrats getting
caught committing crimes, Bill Dagastino with NewsBusters says the leftist
mainstream media has suddenly stopped you using the term no

Speaker 14 (42:03):
Well, it turns out that no one is above the
law is only a fun adage when your side controls
the Department of Justice, right and when your side is
bringing some kind of criminal litigation against a political opponent.

Iranians are singing a different tune. They're claiming their nuclear
plans will continue quotes with or without a deal, six
oh four. The President also called out Walmart after its
announcement that it would raise prices because of tariffs, Trump

(43:01):
saying he'll be watching and that the retailer should quote
eat the tariffs. But the mainstream media continues to try
to tell you that you will pay for those tariffs.
Strange thing though, in April, wholesale inflation fell zero point
five percent, So what's really going on.

Speaker 39 (43:19):
Companies are absorbing the cost of tariffs rather than passing
them on to customers.

Speaker 17 (43:23):
The thing, you know, maybe we need to eat some
of these prices and we can't pass them to consumers, and.

Speaker 18 (43:29):
That's what you saw in the producer price index.

Speaker 39 (43:32):
Financial planner Richard Rosso says this indicates confidence that Trump
will be able to cut deals quickly.

Speaker 17 (43:36):
It's all based on the tenant that this is going to.

Speaker 1 (43:39):
Be fixed real quick well at least.

Speaker 17 (43:40):

to worry that this is going to be inflationary.

they're taking.

hundred and twenty three arrests, which evidently the things is
just no big deal. It was quieter. I will say

(46:07):
that it was quieter. The crowds were thinner, The arrests
were in many cases preemptive, you know, they were you know,
they were going through much more security efforts to make

Speaker 41 (46:34):
The fact that we are actually on Crystal Beach and
we can move around pretty freely. And we want to
show you some comparison for two years past. Take a
look at your screen. On the left side of your
screen is what things looked like previous years, and on
the right side is this is from this week. You
can see the night and day difference. Last year, one
person was killed and others injured during a shooting. Sheriff

(46:57):
Jamie Fullan campaign on reform and JEEP and this is
part of the reform, including five hundred and twenty law
enforcement personnel from sixteen different agencies, all on Bolivar Peninsula. Now,
several arrests were made yesterday as people made their way here. Now,
there were some criticism about the Sheriff's office use of checkpoints,

(47:17):
but the sheriff said the checkpoint was necessary because through it,
he said, they have been able to recover thirty guns
from one vehicle.

Speaker 42 (47:25):
Well, and we ended up recovering thirty guns last night
last night, Yeah, last night.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
It's a checkpoint. So I think that's the success right there.

Speaker 42 (47:32):
That's thirty guns that would have been on our beaches
today if we hadn't got him last night.

Speaker 1 (47:36):
You had the question is why do you would bring
it thirty guns.

Speaker 42 (47:39):
Right, and these type of guns ar fifteen framed guns
and stuff like that, and automatic shotguns with barrel with
barrel cliffs on. I mean, that's you're not going duck hunting.

Speaker 4 (47:49):
I love that, true. You ain't going duck hunting. No,
not with all that firepower. You're not going duck hutting. Again,
the violence way way down, y'all. Were there some drunk
and rowdy folks. Yeah, of course there's some drunk and
rowdy folks, but it was a much safer, much better
organized effort. Gee weekend this time around six'. Ten time

Paid for every state is paying through the nose or,
illegal aliens, you know especially when you when you take
a look at, public education, For example i'd love to
know how much we spend as a state on illegal
immigrants and education. Every year but the problem is is
our public schools don't bother to ask your immigration status
when you're. A student so they they they kind of,

(01:33:47):
ye know they they probably have an idea how many
of their students, are illegals but they have no. Actual
Headcount amon, blair joins Us senior fellow At The Texas Public.
Policy foundation you have an idea how much if we
were to put everything together Here, in texas how much
we've spent?

Speaker 26 (01:34:03):
So Far Good.

Speaker 10 (01:34:06):
Morning notes their unfortunately the only comprehensive report that has,
been published Was by fair and it was also reported
by Doje elon MUSTOGE and i was about one hundred
and fifty point seven billion.

Speaker 26 (01:34:19):
Dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:34:20):
Comprehensively okay is that for the entire country or Just. For,
texas no that's just for the.

Speaker 10 (01:34:26):
Entire country the only thing that we have is if
you remember, Last Year governor Rabbit ordered texas hospitals to
ask all patients Started in, november first to disclose whether
they were quote lawfully president In The. United, states Well
the texas hospitals they just published that Data on april,
twenty fifth and just For the, november alone it was
one hundred and twenty one point eight million dollars in

(01:34:49):
health care costs to.

Speaker 4 (01:34:51):
The taxpayer well in You and i'm guessing too THAT
if i were legal illegally here in, this COUNTRY if
i was UNDOCUMENTED and i wasn't supposed to, be HERE
and i was in a place like, a HOSPITAL and
i got asked, THAT question i might be sorely tempted to,
you know to not either not answer the question or
they answer the, question incorrectly unless somebody is asking for

(01:35:12):
proof of me being.

Speaker 1 (01:35:13):
Here, legally.

Speaker 10 (01:35:15):
Yes. That's, correct yeah we really don't know the accuracy of.
That data we don't know whether they did or. Do
not just Like in Florida and florida they give you
three options.

Speaker 1 (01:35:25):
Whether, you're, legal illegal or.

Speaker 10 (01:35:27):
You're not going to be willing, To respond and so
those are your three Options in.

Speaker 4 (01:35:31):
Florida, Itself, yeah Okay well I'M guessing i get a
lot of not willing. To respond so it's it's unless
unless we require some sort, of proof there's no way
to get a really good handle. On IT and i,
don't know maybe maybe in some ways we're afraid to
find out what the real. Figure is, YOU know I
have i have my own thoughts on. Public EDUCATION as,
i mentioned you know in the intro, For This, aman

(01:35:53):
blair that, you know we don't really ask that question
because the, school's year it's their job to, educate everybody regardless, of,
immigration says so they all bother to ask. The question
but it's got to be in the billions of dollars
each and every, school.

Speaker 10 (01:36:08):
Year, yes sir whether that's, from, education healthcare to law
enforce and infrastructure like you. Mentioned earlier and that's why
there's a few bills that are up in our current
legislative site session, this, year however they're. Being stalled you
Have Like senate bill eight twenty fives that mandates a
study on the cost of illegal immigration inside the Inside.

(01:36:31):
Of texas and then you Also Have House built too
five weeks seven that was Filed By represented bocott that
actually Codifies What governor abbott Mandated to. Texas hospitals but
that was the point of ordered On the house floor
on the Thirteenth. Of may and so both of those
bills that are trying to codify the just an understanding

(01:36:54):
of the costs are being installed by which Is Weird,
Republican House, republican senate And a republican Majority in.

Speaker 4 (01:37:01):
Texas, well unfortunately it's not weird Here in texas because
we have still Too many rhinos in both bodies and
they do What the democrats want them to do it,
right now then this is An issue democrats want slow
walked at the, very least let's just play this out
until the. Session ends and so far they're pretty effective,
at it?

Speaker 20 (01:37:20):
Aren't they oh one Hundred, percentres, so like.

Speaker 10 (01:37:23):
If you don't, have data then all you do is
go based off of stories that are emotionally based and
so you can actually make policy decisions based off of
emotions as opposed. To data and that's why these bills are.
So important that's why the data is.

Speaker 4 (01:37:39):
So, important, okay well hopefully we as taxpayers in the
great State of texas will put bar pressure on the.
State legislature thanks for, your, time sir, appreciate it senior

This court Coming. Up in thursday she put on the
agenda To go to paris twenty three thousand. FOR four
people i don't know why four people. Need TO go
it's i think It's With The. Greater houston. Partnership you
Know If The greater houston partnerships Won't jump said i'll
go To, go to paris stay out to. PAY for,

(01:55:35):
it i agree that's not anything we need to be. A,
part of well.

Speaker 4 (01:55:39):
Here's the thing she evidently claims that she wants to
go so she can talk to them About how innovative
harris kind of is and and how we're A. Leader
in ai how much do you think she knows about innovation?
And artificial?

Speaker 26 (01:55:51):
Intelligence very little Based on what i've heard things said.
IN the court i mean she there's no it's a
what we would call this. In these taxes this. Is
a junket this is a trip paid for by. The
tax players we. Can't afford this we know we. Can't
afford it we, had, that discussion uh two weeks, ago

(01:56:13):
as well when the sheriff steps he came to court
and said they would like, a pay, raise and, we of,
course she said we, can't afford it and the only
way we're going to be able to do it is.

Speaker 1 (01:56:25):
To increase taxes and that's.

Speaker 26 (01:56:29):
All she knows, i've told her why Don't you Follow mayor.
Whitt meyer's model he went through it. For a year
he's done nothing but, cut discretionary spending and he's figured
out how to give his people. A pay raise she
only knows. One one thing let's raise taxes and let's
spend it on things that.

Speaker 1 (01:56:50):
Really don't matter now you've obviously said no.

Speaker 4 (01:56:53):
To all this what about? Your fellow commissioners is there
anybody there who would Like to Send? Lena to paris i'd.

Speaker 26 (01:57:00):
BE very surprised i think it was. Set in court
one of the, court, members said, WELL you know i
went on a trade Mission With The greater houston partnership
and they. Paid, for it Well Maybe the greater houston
partnership's not paying for it because they know what it's
worth and if it may be, A taglaal deal. I
don't know it's just that we don't need to be.

(01:57:23):
Paying for it there's not. Value with that there's a
reason why years ago you have To come. To commissioner's
court if you're going to travel outside this country and
you're going to get somebody to.

Speaker 1 (01:57:35):
Pay for.

Speaker 26 (01:57:35):
It it's, Interesting, she said well it. Really doesn't matter
i'll just get my campaign to. Pay for, it you
know the only reason she has money in, Her, campaign,
account jimmy yeah is if she got reiversed, for legal
expenses and that's why she has some money in. Her
campaign account where, WE go again i don't. UNDERSTAND that.

Speaker 4 (01:57:55):

a town square it's way up and out, of the run,
SO you know i would pay for A, Trip, to
