hour the FAA reducing flights by ten percent in certain
cities that includes Houston. The GOLP wants to focus on

So what will the likelihood be that your flight is
part of that ten percent flight reduction? Details in the

the airports that will be impacted. United Airlines says this
will not affect international flights, but it will when it
comes to regional roots and domestic flights that are not
hubbed to hub. You will also have to deal with

longer TSA wait times. Today they are up to seventy
five minutes at Bush and up to an hour at Hobby,
according to Houston Airports.

on Halloween, resulted in more than fifteen hundred arrests, among
them seventeen gang members for the aggravated felons, one murderer,
and thirteen sexual predators. Illegal immigration partly was what one
Donald Trump re election last year.

He's your flight still on nothing's been canceled yet, but
there are going to be canceled flights. I mean, we've
we've seen it already, but what we're going to see
now is preemptive canceling of flights. Cliff was mentioning it
during the news. I thought I would try to elaborate
on it just a little bit, because I do have
at least a little eaty bitty tiny bit of insider knowledge.

Elizabeth used to work for Continental Airlines before they merged
with United, so she understands how all this stuff works.
And best of all, she understands airline jargon, which every
business has jargon. No, no business has more jargon than airlines.
They have acronyms for everything everything they do. So when

(08:03):
you see a statement from an airline and it doesn't
seem to make sense, it's probably because they're using acronyms
that you or I wouldn't know because we don't work
for the airlines. But from what I understand, United has
made a statement about the ten percent flight reduction, and again,
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is ordering the reduction of flights

by ten percent because we just you know, we don't
have enough air traffic controllers at any given moment in
order to get the job done. About the only thing
they can do at this point until the government shutdown
ends is to reduce the number of flights. So the
big markets. I think there's forty different airports that are

(08:44):
included in this, at least to begin with the forty
largest airports and markets that includes Houston. Both airports in
Houston will have to reduce flights by ten percent. And
it begins, of course with the Hub Airlines, and the
Hub Airlines are the ones that that is one of
their main bases of operation. For lack of a better

(09:04):
way to put it, United has a hub here in Houston.
They also have a hub in Denver. They also have
a hub in Chicago. Now, the way the United States
was warded, it sounds like international flights will not be impacted,
so there'll be no reduction in international flights. You're flying
Houston to London, Houston to Athens, whatever it may be,

(09:28):
and you're going through a hub city, it won't be impacted.
It also sounds like flights that are going from a
hub city to another hub city will not be impacted.
So if you're flying Houston to New Work, for example,
which are both hub cities, then those flights probably are
not going to be reduced or canceled. But if you
are flying from a hub city to a non hub

(09:50):
city or from a non hub city to a hub city,
that's where the reductions are likely to occur. So if
you have a flight from Houston to Detroit, Detroit's not
a hub city for United, so that that could have
an impact on that flight. And the reason why I
mention all this is because we have the holidays coming up.
Hopefully the government shut down ends and everything gets back

to normal, but if it doesn't, there will be flights
canceled for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and they are going to
involve non international flights and flights that are going from
hub cities to non hub cities. So you'll want to
keep an eye on that in case the light information
for your loft onue changes or for you five ten
time for traffic and weather together.
