Speaker 1 (00:02):
This is huge Radio seven forty KTRH Houston.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Live Everywhere with them.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Now the latest news, weather, and it's more of what
matters to you from the John Morris Services studios.

Speaker 4 (00:17):
Well, good morning, five am here on Houston's Morning News.
I'm Jimmy Barrett. Among our top stories as we get
started this morning, the Ninth Circuit has ruled that Trump
can send the National Guard to Portland. Who you blame
for the shutdown depends on your party affiliation and coming
up at five away a toilet. It watches you do
your thing and then analyzes it details in the minute.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Say, hey, gives it a number like seven point eight.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Got job. I think only two numbers apply, one or two. Skyline.
Oh okay, let's.

Speaker 5 (00:47):
Check your freeways here on the west side Katie Freeway.
This is the only thing I have on the board,
and that's a stall inbound Katie Freeway at post it's
on the exit ramp. It doesn't look like it's hurting anybody.
Looks like we're just pointing at things. Pinot ma all
into the President's heads. Now an easy twenty six minute roll.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
If we hit the other side of Iten Chevron Phillips, dude.

Speaker 5 (01:06):
What are y'all doing this morning? I love y'all coming
in from Mott Bellevue and one forty six. We look good,
Just an easy thirty one minutes and that golf freeway.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I've learned the hard way.

Speaker 5 (01:15):
Always look way down the golf in case there's something
on the causeway and nothing on the causeway.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Now fact, we're kind of doing this right now.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
I'm Skymrike at your USA Rvresorts dot Com traffic center.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
From our KTRH top tax Defenders twenty four hour weather center.
Partly cloudy, twenty percent chance with stray shower storm today,
not a very good chance.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I tipit.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
You're right about ninety cold. Friend's coming through though it's
gonna be a lot cooler tonight and tomorrow as well. We'll
get the latest done all of this from the Weather
Channel and Terry Smith in about eight minutes right now,
seventy three at your official severe weather station News Radio
seven forty k TRH. It's time now for the news.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
He's back, good borning.

Speaker 6 (01:54):
Here's Cliff Saunders, Thank you, Jimmy five O two on
KTRH ower top story and TIFA riers in Portland overnight.
This is after a Federal Appeals Court rule that President
Trump has the authority to deploy the National Guard to
protect ICE facilities and ICE agents.

Speaker 7 (02:12):
I have really bad news for all these people here.
That scream didn't wind all weekend. Donald Trump is still
your president. I've independently confirmed that. So sorry to tell them, Matt, nothing.

Speaker 6 (02:22):
Has changed, reported Nick Sorter on Fox. He's been covering
the violence there. He was arrested for doing his job
earlier this month. Of course, that charge was eventually dropped,
by the way, So much for the No Kings protest
last weekend being peaceful. These I as gotta get shot
and wiped up. That man, an educator at the protest

(02:43):
in Chicago. The college he works for, is in commenting.
Also in Chicago, and elementary school teacher was caught on
tape mocking the Charlie Kirk assassination. She's been identified as
Lucy Martinez. Meantime, here at home, four people were arrested
for protesting the removal of the Rainbow crosswalk in Montrose.

(03:03):
Aris County Judge Lena Hidago threw a tantrum about it
as well. And we'll have that for you at five
point thirty. It's five zho three. President Trump trying to
keep our city safe and drugs out of our country,
targeting drug boats with narco terrorists from Colombia, calling that
country's president Gustavo Petro a lunatic.

Speaker 8 (03:23):
They just have a moronic leader in charge right now.
But there's an election next year, and I think that's
going to go very differently in our relationship with Columbia
will be back on track after this guy's gone.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno, this is why Trump is doing
all of this. More than half a million Americans have
died since twenty fifteen because of drug cartel activity.

Speaker 9 (03:44):
And former DEA chief Ray Donovan says the designation by
President Trump of nations like Colombia and Venezuela as extremely
dangerous will be effective.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
It's elevated.

Speaker 10 (03:55):
It's from clearly just a criminal issue to a national
security issue.

Speaker 9 (03:59):
Sunday, President is it Trump called out the Columbia trafficking
trade that's bringing drugs to the US and killing Americans,
saying he'll withhold aid from that nation. Mike Shiloh News
Radio seven forty ktright.

Speaker 6 (04:12):
Also in DC. The Schumer shutdown continues now in day
number twenty one.

Speaker 11 (04:18):
This is a lot less about a solution to that
problem that they say they are trying to fix, and
a lot more about having a political issue and satisfying
that far left base that was, you know, marching in
places around the country this last weekend.

Speaker 6 (04:32):
Cent a majority of the leader John Thune on Fox Business,
seven Democrats voted against reopening the government for the eleventh
time yesterday. If you believe the polls, Democrats and Republicans
are both to blame for the current situation. But political
consultant Bill Millers, as Americans are making up their own minds.

Speaker 12 (04:50):
It's not one or the other. If it's down the
middle or even close to down the middle, it's made
sixty forty forty sixty. It can be praised to both
houses or pugs on both houses.

Speaker 6 (05:00):
How five five early voting continues across Texas through Halloween.
Aris County officials say more than ten thousand in person
voters participated yesterday. More about what's at stake at five thirty. Meantime,
there's been more focus on next year's primaries and how
Texas Congressman Wesley Hunt is pitching himself to Republican voters.

Speaker 13 (05:22):
Hunt is trying to portray himself as politically similar to
Ken Paxton, but without the baggage. The AG's political scandals
have also been highlighted by the incumbent John Cornyn, but
experts say when the accusations come from Hunt, they hit harder.

Speaker 14 (05:36):
I think it resonates more because again, you're talking about
a guy who is well liked by President Trump.

Speaker 13 (05:41):
As ut San Antonio professor John Taylor. Paxton is accused
of mortgage fraud and there are allegations that he has
been cheating on his wife with a married Christian influencer.

Speaker 6 (05:51):
That's ktr h's Beth Myers. On the Democrat side, Austin
State Rep. James Tallerico appears to be the front wrinn.
The question is whether or not he will be able
to appeal to Texans given his radical left wing record.

Speaker 10 (06:05):
That's always been the failure of Democrats that they don't
realize that Texas is more conservative than anything else. That's
why a lot of Democrats in South Texas switched to
President Trump the last time around.

Speaker 6 (06:16):
The American thinker Silvio Canto Junior says that Democrats like
Tamo Rico are much like beatawa' rock. Very polished speaker,
but too far left for most Texas voters. It's five
h six. The Texans fell behind fourteen to nothing, made
a run but came up short in Seattle last night,
twenty seven to nineteen. Coach Demiko Ryan says they made

(06:37):
too many mistakes.

Speaker 15 (06:38):
Overall, it just sloppy play. There were some positive things
that we did, but it was just overshadowed by the
negative things. Offensively, is not good enough. It didn't move
the ball good enough.

Speaker 6 (06:51):
Texans are now two and four. Opening night for KD
and the Rockets. They visited the NBA champion Oklahoma City
Thunder pregame at five point thirty on Sports Talks ninety,
I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news whether in traffic station
News Radio seven k TRH.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
For the importance events of today.

Speaker 16 (07:09):
Important control of capital city shack.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Yeah, something with Putin, we can make a deal. Events
in my day to day on news radio KTRH.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
How do you feel about being spied on while you
do number two? Yeah, it doesn't sound like a very
appealing thing to me either. Coler You don't coler Is.
Coler is a big company. Well, they make a lot
of things, not the least of wishes are faucets and
fixtures and toilets. They have debuted a new six hundred
dollars toilet camera. Why would you want a camera on

(07:42):
your toilet? It watches you go then analyzes the results
to track your health.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
We're told.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
By the way it will not snap any pictures of
your junk or anything like that. It's it just it's
focused on what's in the bowl. And what it does
is it scans what's in the bowl when you're done
doing your thing, and then it spits out of the
stats on your phone. It gets a phone app that
goes along with it. You sign in on a fingerprint scanner,
so it knows who's waste it's scanning, and it can

(08:14):
tell you whether or not you're dehydrated, and what percentage
of your sessions are regular each week, and will also
look for any signs of blood.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
That's it.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
That's all it does. Does it know for example, what
if what if you have a hemorrhoid and there's you
have a little blood in there that that's not a
called a rectal cancer sign, you know that's got a hemorrhoid.
I don't know what you get out of this other
than it's going to tell you if I think I

(08:43):
can probably analyze it myself and know whether or not
it's a regular number two or not a regular number two.
See six hundred dollars seems like a lot of money
for very little information. And it also seems like the
kind of thing that a hypochondract would buy, don't you
think where somebody who's somebody who's got like a lifetime
subscription to Colo Guard and sends the sample in every month.

(09:04):
That kind of a person would probably want something like
this where you can analyze your poop on the phone
and try to figure out if there's anything wrong. I
think I'll take a hard pass on this if I'm
going to get and I have actually gotten toilet technology.
They make toilets now that are almost impossible for you
to stop up where it's got like a tank inside

(09:25):
the tank and it's pressurized. It doesn't use any more water,
It just takes the water that's area to just whoosh.
It just blows everything through there, sucks everything up. I've
got two of those.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Now.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
That was money, well spent five to ten time for
traffic and weather together.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
That thing takes your fingerprint and analyze this how you
did your business?

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Yeah, exactly tell me.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
We've got too much AI. Without telling me we've got
too much of that stupid A. There will only be
there will only be more of this coming. Just got
to great, Terry, cover your ears. Why can't they use
crap like that to make red lights run better? So
you know, one street that has nobody on it, it
can stay red for them. In the street that has
fifty people on it, you can have a green line.

(10:07):
But no, they can't do it for something useful like that.
I have time to rent like that because freeways are
looking good now. I'll take you around the horn though,
just for fun, as we do the Golf Freeway. Like
to check your clauseway see the onlines keep showing a
complete shut down there, Yet another of the many reasons
why you get your traffic from AM radio, not AI.
I'm better than AI. I can tell you things AI

(10:29):
can't tell you. Dickenson up thirty minutes co Gators two
eighty eight. Steven App's looking happy this morning, coming up
from Angle ten through the roadwork at Rosharon Manvil twenty
two minutes up Southwest Freeway, Beautiful Richmond and Rosenberg.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
I wouldn't leave if I lived there.

Speaker 5 (10:46):
But from the Brass River nineteen minutes, so make that
twenty two minutes up into the canyon north Found. We'll
check a ship channel bridges at the five twenty Terry,
how are you doing? I'm in the USA RB Resorts
dot Com traffic.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Center from r ktr Tom tax Defenders twenty four or
whether sent Terry's here right?

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Didn't hear Terry Hire.

Speaker 6 (11:04):
I'm just like in shot that sky Mike would cheer
for gators. What you said, go gators?

Speaker 17 (11:12):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Oh, Dickinson, Dickinson, Texas. Yeah, yeah, they're also.

Speaker 6 (11:16):
Yeah, I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
I didn't mean.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
Yeah, we don't mind gators as long as the local gators,
not Florida gators. Went over for the Florida gators. Now,
trade not know and we're not really rooting for Melissa,
though it looks like we are going to have a
Melissa before the day is over. Is that Terry Smith's
gonna be anywhere near coming towards us?

Speaker 1 (11:35):
You know what?

Speaker 6 (11:36):
Right now?

Speaker 18 (11:37):
No, if something changes, then we'll see. But right now,
so what Jimmy's referring to, if you haven't been checking
the tropics on a regular basis a little disturbance that's
in the eastern Caribbean, and it's drifting more west than north,
but it is moving northwest. But right now it looks

(11:58):
like it's going to stay over the Caribbean for the
next seven days, so we're going to watch it see
what it does. The winds there are very light, so
it's not going anywhere fast. So if it does develop,
which it's expected to do, it could post some problems
to some of those islands, like Jamaica, perhaps the Grand

(12:19):
Cayman region. I don't it's to the south of Puerto Rico,
so I don't think it'll be a problem there. We'll
be watching it, and we're also watching a cold front.
This is super exciting. Two cold fronts for that matter.
One today later on this afternoon, with a fifty percent
chance of thunder showers. Our temperatures ahead of the front
are going to be warm, uper eight east to low

(12:41):
nineties today, Tomorrow sunny and little less eat in humidity
low to mid eighties Tomorrow. We have a twenty percent
chance of rain Thursday. This is ahead of the next
cold front, thirty percent chance of rain on Friday, and
then a ninety percent chance of rain on Saturday. Now
our temperatures are going to be in the eighties tomorrow, Thursday,
and Friday. But Saturday, when we've got all the clouds

(13:05):
at rate, it looks like high temperatures will only be
in the midtupper.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
Seventies temperature right now seventy three. Here at your officials,
Severe Weather Station News Radio seven forty KTRH. I con
your best ways are round Houston. Next on the ten
on seven KTRH five twenty our time here on Houston's
Born News. Got a lot of Tuesday morning quarterbacking today

(13:30):
on the no kings protesting from the weekend? What were
they actually protesting? Because we don't have a king? I
get that they're trying to say that Donald Trump is
acting like a king. Maybe it's just because they're not
used to having somebody in office who actually does something
and actually gets something done. Maybe that's maybe that's where

(13:51):
the disconnect is. But if you were to ask most
of these protesters why they were doing what they were doing,
very few of them could give you any sort of
a cognitive answer as to what was they were doing.
More on that coming up next first, though, traffic and
weather together, we're checking out the drive once again. Here
is sky mine all right.

Speaker 5 (14:07):
Ktr H listeners are the first to know what's happening
on the roadways, and I've got something on iten Man,
is that roadwork over by Cove? You know where Cove
is lost in Old River. That's a really cool bridge out, ma'am.
About a twenty minute stink going that way back toward Anawak.
Let me get some laneages at the twenty break. Other
Andrew from Spring, I'm getting to you shortly. Let's go

(14:27):
to south Side Larry dudey morning.

Speaker 12 (14:30):
Guy, Mike Felt Freeway in bound Big ten.

Speaker 19 (14:33):
We're going woo.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
Like.

Speaker 20 (14:35):
Gimme super flash toilet.

Speaker 15 (14:37):
Can you beat a Toma on six ten Way in
England gallery by doing the double woosh?

Speaker 5 (14:44):
Congratulations, Jimmy. We have a theme this morning, toilet flush them.
I think that's gonna be our theme this morning on
the morning show. It's the USA Rbresorts dot Com traffic Center.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
I hope we can do a little better than that.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
From r KTRH stops Defenders between I'll tell you what, man,
I do love that toilet from our KTRH top tax
Defenders twenty four our weather Center part of the COATI
today twenty percent chance for a straight shower store right
about ninety tomorrow mostly Sunday eighty four. Currently it is
seventy three at your official severe weather station, News Radio
seven forty KTRH. Check out some of our top stories

(15:20):
here on this Tuesday morning. Cliff has those, Thank you, Jimmy.

Speaker 6 (15:22):
Nearly half a million illegal aliens have been arrested since
President Trump returned to the White House. No injuries reported
after a train went off the tracks in Waller County
last night. In the Amazon web service outage that we
all got hit by yesterday reportedly could wind up costing
get this hundreds of billions of dollars. Get the latest
news anytime at KTRH dot com. Our next update is

(15:45):
at five thirty.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
The Schumer shut down, the events of the day port
in Chicago, violent crime every day.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
It is Rue Amasa on news Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Five twenty three at a time here in Houston's morning news.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
So have you seen the meme that's going around the
Trump mean where he's he's flying an Air Force jet
and he's wearing a crown and he is bombing the
No King's protest with poop. Speaking of toilets and the
left is insensed about this, of course, and then and
Trump is just laughing like nobody's business. He's having the

(16:24):
best time with this, all right, Uh, what are they
protesting anyway? The fear that Trump is acting like a king,
like he's in he's in charge of everything, and that
that he's you know, he's royalty, he can do whatever
he wants to do kind of a thing. Is that
what this is all about? Because a lot of the protesters,
if that's what it is, a lot of the protesters
can't even articulate that. Here's Bill O'Reilly a news nation

(16:46):
talking about some of this.

Speaker 21 (16:47):
To neutral In fact, it's I thought there'd be more
people out demonstrating on No King's Day because seventy five
million people voted for Kamala Harris, and most of them
voted for her not on her ability.

Speaker 22 (17:04):
They voted because they didn't like Donald Trump.

Speaker 21 (17:07):
So that's less than ten percent who showed up on
Saturday to vent their anger.

Speaker 22 (17:13):
A couple of points the.

Speaker 21 (17:16):
Media that you and me and everybody else we concentrate
on the extremists. I don't believe that most of these
demonstrators wanted Charlie Kirk assassinated, Nor do they want Donald
Trump dead. They're disenchanted with the president in America for
whatever reason. There's a lot of reasons all over the place.

(17:37):
Many of them are uninformed.

Speaker 22 (17:39):
They don't know what the grievance really is. Their friends
are grieving, so they are.

Speaker 23 (17:45):
So.

Speaker 21 (17:45):
I was in Kingston, New York, doing a little foliage
tour up state on a Hudson and there was a
demonstration in Kingston.

Speaker 22 (17:54):
Now Kingston and that whole.

Speaker 21 (17:56):
Area up there are a lot of ex hippies from
New York and things like that.

Speaker 22 (18:01):
But the consensus that I saw was this was a party.
There were little kids, the ice cream guys were.

Speaker 21 (18:09):
There, they were running around, the grandparents and parents had
little signs, and.

Speaker 22 (18:16):
It's as you're all over the place.

Speaker 21 (18:18):
I think the biggest issue is the ice They don't
want Homeland Security to boot out undocumented people. I think
that's probably the biggest issue. But then there's the National
Guard and things like that. But when I was observing
this and saw no specificity at all, none.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
Well, I think there is one specicificity and that is Trump.
It's just it's a Trump protest, that's all it is.
You know, it's whatever whatever Trump does, It's Trump by
twenty six, it is time to take a look at
your money. As we check in with Courtney D.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Naho.

Speaker 24 (18:56):
Good morning. Apple shares have hit its first record of
twenty twenty five. Apple had been a high profile underperformer
for much of the year, down more than thirty percent
at its worst point in April, but since then the
iPhone maker has soared more than fifty percent. The recent
bump comes from stronger than expected demand for the latest
iPhone lineup. Yesterday's rally losing steam this morning, stock futures

(19:19):
are heading for modest losses. Investors continue to weigh the
back and forth between the US and China over trade.
Wall Street drove stocks hire yesterday. The S and P
five hundred, so it's biggest two day gain since June.
The benchmark soared one point one percent to finish the session.

three at your officials Severe Weather Station, News Radio seven
forty KTRH. It's time now for the news. Here's Cliff Saunders.

Speaker 6 (21:22):
Hey Jimmy, It's five thirty one on KTRH. Our top
story Yesterday mark nine months since President Trump took office
promising to crack down on illegal immigration. He's delivered.

Speaker 27 (21:34):
Since January, the Department of Homeland Security has arrested over
four hundred and eighty thousand criminal illegal aliens. Seventy percent
of those individuals have criminal charges against them or have
been convicted of those criminal charges.

Speaker 6 (21:50):
DHS Secretary Christy Nome. The administration is also continuing enforcement
of English language standards for truckers. This has led to
six thousand drivers being taken off the road this year.

Speaker 19 (22:03):
It's not yet clear how many of those were operating
in Texas. But this is a win for safety.

Speaker 28 (22:07):
This issue and other has highlighted the fact that you
have individuals out there that are hauling active loads in
the state of Texas who aren't qualified to be behind
the wheel.

Speaker 19 (22:15):
Jonasparza with the Texas Trucking Association says this is unveiling
deeper safety red flags on Texas highways.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
The majority of.

Speaker 28 (22:22):
Them are those who don't carry the qualifications to drive
the truck, to training, the education that it takes, these
are all things that are being exposed.

Speaker 19 (22:29):
He added that there needs to be more penalties for
those that are putting on qualified drivers behind the wheel.
Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 6 (22:37):
NOW five point thirty three The Left throws a temper
chante room. Four people were arrested for protesting a rainbow
crosswalk that was removed from Montrose.

Speaker 29 (22:46):
We know that we are the most diverse city in
the country. We have everybody in this city in this community,
including our clear and trans siblings.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
That protester speaking with our TV partner channel to the
removal ordered by Governor Greg Gabbatt as part of the
Trump Administration's Safe Roads initiative. Now you knew this was
going to happen. Harris County Judge Alena Hidago weighing in
on this and somehow some way connecting it to her
failed plot to raise your property taxes.

Speaker 30 (23:18):
What's happening in the city and unfortunately also in the
county where a majority of the Commissioner's Court has decided
to also appease special interest is we are defunding basic
services to pay for salary increases.

Speaker 6 (23:33):
For some idalgo on Facebook now the trigger left nationally.
A Chicago elementary school teacher under fire for mocking Charlie
Kirk's murder during the No Kings protest on Saturday. Now
her fellow teachers are lining up to make sure that
she keeps her job.

Speaker 31 (23:51):
That's the sickness I'm trouble. That's where I lay around
at night, thinking, how in the world can we live
alongside of people that celebrate assassinations like this in public.

They're paying tremendous amounts of money to us, as in
the form of tariffs. As you know, they're paying fifty
five percent. That's a lot of money. They never were
paying anything over years and years and years.

Speaker 6 (24:25):
President Trump on Shana downplane the trade tensions between the two,
telling reporters he expects to get a fair trade deal
done with Jesun paying. Trump leaves for a trip to
Asia later this week. Looking at your money, Overnight trading
so far is down across the board, with oil up
fifty three cents. Gasoline prices across Houston kicked down overnight

(24:47):
to two dollars and fifty nine cents a gallon. The
state of Texas has long been known for being one
of the few without state income tents, but that may
become less of a novelty suit. Paul Gleeson with Americans
for Tax Reforms says Texas can't rest on its low
tax laurels.

Speaker 16 (25:04):
Other states are seeking to join Texas in the Club
and income tax states, so as that becomes less of
an advantage, it's important the lawmakers to address other laws
in the code, whether that be disproportionately high property taxes
or whether it's continuing tohip away to margins.

Speaker 6 (25:16):
Tax he says. Louisiana Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia, and the Carolinas
are all seeking to zero out there state income taxes.
Today is the second day of early voting in Texas.
The period runs through the thirty first. Now you might
think that this off year election is not very important,
but you'd be very wrong. There are seventeen statewide propositions

(25:39):
on the ballots.

Speaker 33 (25:40):
Most of the propositions are red meat issues for Republicans,
like a constitutional amendment clarifying that to vote you must
be a US citizen. State Senator Brian Birdwell says this
makes it harder to change in the future.

Speaker 26 (25:53):
Will create additional safeguards, and should it ever be changed,
the citizens would be the ones authorizing the change.

Speaker 33 (26:00):
He says that in a handful of states, non citizens
are allowed to vote in local elections. Critics of the
measures says redundant and unnecessary. It's already illegal for illegal
immigrants to vote in Texas.

Speaker 6 (26:11):
Rexots reporting there are also key governor's races in Virginia
and New Jersey. Fox's Liz Peak says this is going
to be a blueprint for the midterms.

Speaker 34 (26:20):
Joe Biden's lasting impact on the country is showing up
in a lot of ways that I think the Republican
should focus on and should focus people's attention.

Speaker 6 (26:29):

New Jersey's high energy prices and crime issues. Five thirty seven,

Friday night. I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news, weather and
traffic station News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
Headlines brought to you by partners in building.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Stay in touch on your drive in with Jimmy Barrett
and the Houston Morning News team.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
Is that what they're calling this construction project at the
White House ballroom blitz because it's underway? Five point thirty eight.
Now Here in Houston's Morning News, demolition crews had begun
tearing down part of the White House. Yeah, did you
know they were doing that part of the East wing
of the White House to build President Trump's long desired ballroom.
He is pledged that the construction would not interfere with

(27:34):
the existing building, but construction teams have been seen demolishing
a portion of the East wing with a backo ripping
through the structure. Well, it's not a part of the
original White House. I don't think they're hitting anything sacred there.
According to a photo shared with The Washington Post and
two witnesses who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the

(27:55):
President had claimed that the new construction would not interfare
with existing building, saying one interfere with the current building.
It won't be It'll be near, but it won't be
touching it and pays total respect to the existing building,
which I'm the biggest fan of. White House did not
immediately provide an explanation for the disconnect on the comments
versus what seems to be happening with the new construction.
Fisials has said that the ballroom would replace the East Wing,

(28:18):
which has been renovated and changed many times since its
original construction in nineteen oh two. The ballroom, which you
and I are not paying for as tax payers, is
being funded by the President himself and donors twenty five
million dollar project. Apple has contributed, Amazon, Lucky Martin coinbase

(28:38):
of all contributed money to this the ballroom will set
up to six hundred and fifty people, more than triple
the capacity of the current East room. And the project
was fully financed with donations. And knowing the fact that
this is under the guidance of President Trump, I predict
that not only will the project come in on time,
but on budget. And how many times can you say

(29:00):
that about a government project? By forty time for traffic.

Speaker 5 (29:03):
And weather together, the room blitch, ball room Blitz starting nicely,
play Jimmy Brett, play in the hits Terry.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
You know who that band was. They're called Sweet. I
wouldn't go hunting with those guys.

Speaker 30 (29:14):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (29:14):
The first thing I'm worried about right now is itm
outbound a lot of people hunting fishing.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
Old River and Lost Lake. What a cool place.

Speaker 5 (29:21):
If you want to see some some marsh nature, head
out that way and we've cleared itm that was some
pavement repair over that bridge. It's super interesting. And right
behind it there was a wreck of five sixty five. Now,
if you're leaving Bellevue.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
After Grand Parkway, you hit about a two or three
minute squish.

Speaker 5 (29:38):
Stay the course. That's going to get better if you
feel like it. Ninety is very scenic. While we're on
this side of town too. Let's check on two twenty five.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
And we look good. From one six two ninety, Captain
Jack's riding in.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
I can't get all.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Night because I think we'd be caught up in a
full proper or not.

Speaker 5 (29:56):
I can't picture that, Terry, do you remember the tiny
bowl man? What is this range concept? A dude riding
around and you're John in a boat? All right, cap'n Jim,
cap'n jacket is stuck right now? Now, Brad from Belleville,
he also comes in on two ninety, but I think
he's on the KDI now A my.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Dude, he's found on high Jim.

Speaker 22 (30:14):
I am just sitting here.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
Oh well, here's a newspaper, no clogs.

Speaker 15 (30:18):
I hope you guys have a great warning.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
Plus it's the Chronicle in case you run out of paper. Southside.
Larry says, we're going.

Speaker 5 (30:25):
I gotta go now, Generator Supercenter dot Com traffic Center.

Speaker 4 (30:28):
Well, if it wasn't the thing before, it's the theme now,
isn't it? Straight from our KTRH Generator Supercenter twenty four
hour whether Center. Terry Smith is here, Rained is on
the way. We may have to wait a few more days, though,
terry for everybody to get not just a rain but
a good soaking.

Speaker 35 (30:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 18 (30:44):
I think that's more likely to happen toward the end
of the week, when we get that next storm to
swing through. The col front that's headed our way today
has it has some moisture with it, it has some instability.
It's not overly impressive in terms of the dynamics associated
with it, But the next one looks like it's got

(31:07):
a little more ooph to it. So Saturday looks to
be a bit of a soaker, and we'll see how
that all pans out. In the meantime, we are dried
this morning, with a fifty percent chance of showers and
thunderstorms later this afternoon. It's going to be warm upper
eighties to low nineties today. Rain clears out of here
later on tonight, so tomorrow's a nice sunny day, a

(31:27):
little bit cooler too, load to mid eighties Tomorrow. We
have a twenty percent chance of some showers on Thursday,
and a thirty percent chance of some showers maybe a
rumble of thunder Friday, and then Saturday it's a ninety
percent chance of showers and storms. Now our temperatures will
stay in the eighties the rest of this week until Saturday,
and then with all the clouds in the rain, Saturday

(31:49):
looks like HIGs in the mid to upper seventy.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Wow, that's crazy right now seventy four at your officials
of the weather station. News Radio seven forty KRH some
ferry latest on your way to work. This is Houston's
Morning News with Jimmy Barrett Well. President Trump gave the
marching orders to our Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy that we
need to get non English speaking truckers off the road.

(32:17):
We can't be giving out, you know, CDL licenses for
people who don't speak the language and don't know the
rules of the road. And according to this report anyway
that is sidelined somewhere in the neighborhood of some six
thousand truckers. That's that's a lot of truck drivers that
are not driving right now. Is that causing problems for
the industry. We'll talk more about that next first, though,

(32:38):
traffic to have any whether together, yes we do is
come out.

Speaker 5 (32:41):
Okay, let me be a little short here, but I
do have some East Tech suckutier go.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
This is Wayne from Porter.

Speaker 33 (32:47):
Hey, my dude, drop before the beltway exit there there
is like two car smash and the ones on one
stile of the freeway once on.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
The other side of the freeway.

Speaker 22 (32:56):
So you gotta do a split, all right?

Speaker 5 (32:57):
Bowling a split very well, said one from Porter that's
East tex southbound at Greens. Will zoom it and let
the rest of the media know. I'm skymark on the
USA Rbresorts dot Com traffic Center.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
You're reliable forecast next on the ten on seven forty KTRH.
I feel less truckers out there in that convoy, six
thousand less, John Askedparaza joins US Texas Trucking Association. That's
a lot of truckers the sideline. You think that number
is accurate?

Speaker 28 (34:16):
John, Oh, very well, could be accurate, but it is
a relatively small number when you think about the amount
of truck drivers that you have out there on any
given day on.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
Our highways six thousand, though I know that there's tens
of obviously, there's how many How many truckers do you
estimate that we have if you had to do a
ballpark guess of how many people are driving trucks in
this country on any given day.

Speaker 28 (34:42):
Yeah, sure, that's roughly about three and a half million
truck drivers on any given day across.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
The entire country.

Speaker 28 (34:48):
Upwards of three hundred thousand in the state of Texas
on any given day.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
Okay, Well that puts the number of perspective. You're right
about that. Still, you know there's been a trucker's shortage, right,
We've needed to attract more people into the trucking industry,
and now we're just taking six thousand people out of
the system. So I get The question is not whether
or not that's the right thing to do. We clearly
need to give licenses to people who speak the language

(35:14):
of the country under which they are driving. The question
is how do we go about replacing those six thousand
positions and hopefully even more because there is a shortage.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Well, this is true.

Speaker 28 (35:26):
It's a challenge that we've had as an industry for
a number of years. I know you've heard folks that
will disagree with that, but I think this illuminates what
part of the issue is. Is that we are talking
about qualified drivers. There are far too many individuals behind
the wheel today that are not qualified to be behind
the wheel, and that is due to fraud in our system,

(35:50):
and whether that's third party testing or issues that we've
seen with the Mexican government and issuing fraud Mexican CDLs.
You know, we have a lot of areas that we
need to improve and when we saw this come out initially,
it was one an area that we couldn't disagree with.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
I mean, this is a law that's been on the.

Speaker 28 (36:10):
Books for quite some time and not enforced, going all
the way back to the nineteen thirties, and in this
day and age, it's not about reading a stop sign
or a traffic light. This is about some of the
communication that occurs with digital advertising, let's say, with text
dock when it comes to intersections, our low bridge warnings.

(36:31):
These are important communications that are imperative to the safety
of our highways.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Absolutely, and the problem wasn't just in Mexico. We had
problems on the West coast. California was issuing CDL licenses
to people that shouldn't have gotten a license. Oh, absolutely, Florida.
There's other states that have been named in this. I
know that there's investigations going on currently about the issuance
of these fraudulent licensees. You can get on Facebook and

(36:58):
find where a lot of these are coming from, and
I know that's occurring currently. So we've got some work
to do in that area so that we're ensuring that
a CDL is not just a means to get to
this country from all parts of the United States, all
parts of the world, I should say, in order to
take a job. And this is what the industry looks

(37:19):
at also as a means to protect US and American jobs.
And that's currently against law. It's called cabotage.

Speaker 28 (37:27):
You cannot move freight domestically, point to point and come
in from whether you're from Canada or Mexico. That is
something that is against the law, but it's not been enforced.
And those are the things that are changing in order
to protect those jobs.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
Okay, good to hear. Thank you, sir, appreciate your time.
John Esparsa, he's with the Texas Trucking Association. It's five

Speaker 22 (39:37):
This fascist system.

Speaker 6 (39:38):
Yeah, the left claims that last weekend's No King's protests
were peaceful. Does that sound peaceful to you? By the way,
that man works for a Chicago area college caught on
tape apparently still employed. That wasn't the only example. You've
got an elementary school teacher, also in Chicago, also caught
on tape, this time mocking Charlie Kirk's death. We don't

(40:00):
know if she's been fired. We do know who she is, though,
identifying as Lucy Martinez. And then you had more rioting
in Portland overnight. This was after a federal appeals court
ruled that President Trump could send in the National Guard
to protect Ice. Democrats don't like that at all.

Speaker 29 (40:17):
Indefensible ruling by the Ninth Circuit that opens the door
to National Guard troops being deployed in our peaceful city.

Speaker 6 (40:26):
Let's just be clear, Portland is not lawless. Yeah, but
this would be the definition of lawless. ANTIFA clearly up
to their old tricks. So last night videos all over
social media. This morning in Washington, the two teenagers linked
to the beating of former DO staffer Edward Chorstine, also

(40:48):
known as Big Balls, now facing federal charges.

Speaker 36 (40:52):
We're not going to be happy until we get every

Speaker 2 (41:03):
We're just not gonna blow up the boat.

Speaker 27 (41:05):
We're going after the people load the boat and the
country that provides safe haven.

Speaker 6 (41:10):
South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham on Fox praising the President's
plan to blow up drug boats and cut funding to
Columbia because of its drug trafficking or drug Enforcement of
Administration Chief Ray Donovan says that country is a global
center for cartel violence.

Speaker 10 (41:26):
But there is other cortels like the FARC that has
been designated a terrorist organization going back many many here.

Speaker 6 (41:34):
Yeah, the FBRC is a Marxist group using guerrilla tactics
in several countries to keep their trafficking networks open, all
of it based in Columbia. In Washington, the Schumer shutdown
now enters week number three.

Speaker 35 (41:48):
Republicans have shown zero interest in reopening the government, enacting
a bipartisan spending agreement that actually is designed to make
life better for the American people, a.

Speaker 6 (42:00):
Lie from House Minority Leader Hakim Jeffries. Senate Republicans have
voted to open the government eleven times. Senate Democrats have
voted to keep it closed eleven times. Recent polls are
mostly split along party lines as to the federal government shutdown.

Speaker 9 (42:17):
Political analyst Bill Miller says, the effects of the shutdown
are just starting to be felt, so poles mostly split
the blame for the shutdown. But the longer it goes on,
the more Americans will point fingers.

Speaker 12 (42:29):
Everybody gets a buy because kids are back in school,
people aren't traveling as much. But it's going to change
come Thanksgiving. You'll notice that's when I really hit home
to people.

Speaker 9 (42:39):
If the shutdown continues another ten days, we'll see snap
and other benefits stop, and that will step up the
blame game. Mike Shiloh Use Radio seven forty KTRA.

Speaker 6 (42:50):
The shutdown is also delaying a vote on the Am
Radio for Every Vehicle Act measure has three hundred and
seven House sponsors with support from both parties.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
Not including AM radios and cars. In my opinion, will
never happen. That won't be allowed to happen. There's no
good reason for it to happen, you said.

Speaker 6 (43:09):
Radio consultant Pat Fant hit six point five here at home.
Ten thousand voters showed up for the first day of
early voting in Harris County yesterday. The period continues through Halloween.
More attention those on next year's primaries. Texas Congressman Wesley
Hunt is trying to paint himself as politically similar to
Ken Paxton, but without the baggage. Experts say this will

(43:31):
help John Cornyn.

Speaker 14 (43:32):
I think absolutely helps John Corny. In fact, polling currently
shows that Hunt jumping into the Senate race actually does
help John.

Speaker 6 (43:39):
Corn Political scientist John Taylor says the attacks on Paxton
hit harder when they come from Hunt, simply because he's
more closely aligned with President Trump. While Paxton, Cornyn, and
Hunt battle it out on the Republican side, The Democrat
front runner for twenty twenty six appears to be James Talerico,
but there are questions about his viability statewide.

Speaker 19 (44:00):
There are some who say that James Tallerrico is just
another Beto O'Rourke.

Speaker 10 (44:04):
He is, in many ways a perfect media candidate, if
I could put it that way, just like Beta. He
speaks in this very charming language, but he's not specific.

Speaker 19 (44:13):
At Silvio Kano Junior with the American Thinker, he says,
tall Rico is going to run into the same issues
Beto did.

Speaker 10 (44:18):
He knows what to say in ninety seconds or less.
He's going to have to be more specific in a
general election. So far, I don't think he can do it.

Speaker 19 (44:27):
Canto says that tall Rico's left wing voting record in
the Texas House won't appeal to most Texas voters either.

And that's where rainbows belong, hanging over your head, not
underneath your feet. The crosswalks, the rainbow crosswalks had finally
been paved over in Montrose, and of course the LGBTQ community,
at least the activist portion of the committee's upset about this.
Here is the report from KHU eleven.

Speaker 37 (45:24):
It's been nearly fourteen hours since the colorful crosswalks were
paved over. You can see that they're no longer out
here at this intersection. Despite that, the community.

Speaker 6 (45:33):
Is not backing down.

Speaker 37 (45:36):
Dozens of community members gathering early this morning at Wesheimer
and Taff to protest the removal of the rainbow crosswalks.
Houston police were seen handcuffing some protesters and then carrying
them away. HPD tells me that four people were taken
into custody from blocking the roadway shortly after the paving began.
For many, the rainbow crosswalks were a symbol of pride

(45:58):
for the LGBTQ plus community.

Speaker 29 (46:00):
We have urgent matters that need to be attended to,
and we are wasting time on a distraction and a
vilification of you know, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans people.

Speaker 37 (46:13):
The removal follows a directive from the Trump administration and
in order from Governor Greg Abbott calling on Transportation Department
statewide to get rid of what he described as political
ideologies from roadways. But protesters say the city should have
protected the crosswalks.

Speaker 23 (46:28):
And if anything, this crosswalk is doing the city a
favor by being here, that we are providing safety not
only to our queer community, but to our Houston community overall.

Speaker 37 (46:39):
Mayor John Whitmeyer doubling down today because a.

Speaker 38 (46:42):
Mayor, I'm not going to risk federal funding. I'm talking
about healthcare, transportation, metro schedule, get over a billion dollars
in the next five years. You know, I have a
responsibility to the entire city.

Speaker 37 (46:55):
Harris County Precinct four Commissioner Leslie Brionez, however, says quote
deeply disappointed by the decision to remove Texas's first Pride crosswalk,
a symbol of safety, unity, equality and respect, and historic Montrose.
Local community is not state or federal pressure should decide
how we honor our values.

Speaker 6 (47:13):
Is there a plan of action moving forward now? Well,
First of all, we're rather disappointed. Still, advocates say their
fight is not over.

Speaker 2 (47:21):
Looking forward, we are going to.

Speaker 26 (47:23):
Try to coordinate with some of the businesses and the
residents to see if they're interested in painting their driveways
and their parking lots.

Speaker 37 (47:29):
Late today, Harris County Judge Lena Hidalgo releasing a statement
questioning why the Metro Board of Directors did not have
any input on the decision. We've reached out to Metro
repeatedly about the crosswalk removal, but we're still waiting to
hear back.

Speaker 4 (47:43):
They didn't remove the crosswalk. Okay, It's like that one
act was saying, you know, we were doing the community
of favor by having this this rainbow crosswalk. Here the crosswalk.
It's still a crosswalk. It just isn't a rainbow in
the crosswalk. It's you know, it's still still nothing's changed
as far as it goes. By the way, is it
just me or do you have to send a gay

(48:07):
reporter to cover a television story like that? Would it
be more interesting if you said, sort of the straightest,
burliest reporter that you have for that, and then maybe
send the gay reporter to like a high school football
game wouldn't that be more entertaining? Six to ten type
for traffic and weather together.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
It looks kind of good to me right there, but
you know they just cleared it out of the way.
Give me some give me some assfold. I'm gonna cover
this thing myself.

Speaker 5 (48:30):
That's streak of beer, all right, Katie Freeway in bound,
look out, Barker Cypress. Nobody has time for a wreck here.
We were doing fine, but no, now we have to
have this. I'll get you some lineage at six twenty.

No, I'm not seeing much at all. Nothing around here.

Speaker 18 (49:59):
Actually, if we get rain, which I expect that we'll
get sum rain, it'll be later on this afternoon. Right now,
that cold front's a little too far away to bring
us any sort of wet weather. I'm looking to see
if I can now there's no rain in the state

Now.

Speaker 18 (50:21):
Once that front gets a little bit closer in the afternoon,

decent looking guy, great white hope. Maybe people will vote
for him and we'll get a Democrat who's into office,
but he's likely to lose every election he's involved in.
Did I cover that pretty well? Sylvia Canto yes, I'm here.

(53:19):
I don't know what happened to there.

Speaker 2 (53:21):
No, you're fine.

Speaker 4 (53:22):
No, I was asking you if I covered all we
need to know about James tell Rico or is there
more to cover?

Speaker 10 (53:28):
Well, No, I think he did a good job. I
think he does remind me. First of all, thanks for
the invitation. It's always great to be with you. No,
I think he does remind you a lot of bit too,
in the sense that he Abito ran with a lot
of generalities back in twenty eighteen, and that was a
lot of his success. The good thing is that when
Governor Abbott ran against him in twenty I guess twenty

(53:51):
twenty two, Governor Abbott had a different strategy and he
forced him to identify himself. And when he started to
identify himself, then that's when he started started getting into trouble.
And I think the same thing is going to happen
in tall Rico. As soon as he's forced to identify
who he is, you know, what exactly he stands for,

(54:13):
then I think it'll you know, his he won't shine
as much as he does right now, but right now
he's the flavor of the week. And as I wrote
in my piece A lot of Democrats love the idea
that they've found somebody in Texas who quotes a Bible
and runs as a Democrat.

Speaker 22 (54:30):
That's something they have not had a lot of lately. Guys.

Speaker 4 (54:33):
Yeah, well, I don't think they've ever really been fans
about Bible quotes other than the fact that they might
think it might actually work here in Texas. So maybe
that's right. That might be the only reason why they
would be a fan of that. But he is is
he doom Is he doomed to the same future that
Beto was doomed to, which is repeatedly run for public
office and be rejected every time.

Speaker 10 (54:54):
Well, I think so, But he's got to get the
nomination first. And one of the things that I point
out in the article is that you know, he may not.
He doesn't even know yet who he's running against, because
I think there's a very good chance that Jazzmine Crockett
steps into the race, and when you put her in
the equation, she's actually the one who is in number one.

(55:14):
That's that's a very interesting thing. So she you know,
he may not even get out of the out of
the primary. Right now, the only other candidate running is
Colin alright, who was the candidate from twenty to twenty four.
But I would say right now, I mean, I'm not
sure he's going to get out of the primary. But
he's a very interesting guy. He's very telligenic, he knows

(55:36):
how to talk in ninety second sound bites. He's a
TikTok specialist. And you know, there's a market for that
in our politics these days. I mean, that's I don't
like it, but there's a politics for that at this moment.

Speaker 2 (55:50):
Guys.

Speaker 4 (55:51):
Yeah, then I can't remember a Senate race here in
Texas in a long long time that has been this
much up on the air for both parties.

Speaker 2 (55:58):
Thank you, sir.

Speaker 10 (55:58):

This has exposed even more safety issues with CDL drivers.

Speaker 28 (01:00:44):
I mean, there are other states that we've seen are
currently under investigation for issuance of CDLs outside of the

Weh Yeah, not today. Maybe toward the end of the week.

Speaker 18 (01:07:46):
There'll be some spots that might get a nice little drink,
maybe a quarter of an inch or so, but nothing
that's going to put us serious dad in this drought.
And you know, just for the month of October, we
are running behind in rainfall between three to four inches
because we've seen hardly any rain. Well, we do have

(01:08:07):
that fifty percent chance of showers and storms this afternoon,
as you mentioned, and it is warm. Temperatures today will
wind up in the upper eighties to low nineties, a
little like summer heat for us again in late October.
But the rains ahead of a colt front, and we
get that cooler and slightly drier air tomorrow, so it'll
be really comfortable day, low to mid eighties.

Speaker 6 (01:08:29):
Tomorrow, we'll be in the eighties.

Speaker 18 (01:08:31):
Thursday and Friday, we're starting to get some more showers,
not much twenty percent chances of rain Thursday, thirty percent
chance of some showers maybe since thunder Friday. Saturday though,
that is looking to be a soaker of a day,
widespread showers and storms, having rains possible, maybe some stronger storms.

Speaker 6 (01:08:50):
We'll be watching that.

people were doing.

Speaker 41 (01:11:32):
While the protests were admittedly overwhelmingly peaceful. It's a question
of what you accept, what you associate with and for
the Party of tolerance.

Speaker 2 (01:11:38):
What do you tolerate?

Speaker 41 (01:11:40):
Paul morrow, a Fox News pointed out when he said,
this is an example of a five star a hole,
a sign which reads what heals faster a Trump's ear
or b Erica's heart.

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
One example, one could say. But it's not just one example.

Speaker 41 (01:11:56):
There was this grotesque display of a teacher from Chicago
go I repeat, a teacher from Chicago giving a bullet
in the neck gesture to a Charlie Kirk fan driving by.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
They seemed to be adding up these singular examples. There's more.

Speaker 41 (01:12:13):
Luigi Mangioni supporters showed up. They held signs read free Luigi,
no kings, but yes to murder suspects in Seattle, grown
adults dressed up as lice agents and proceeded to roll
around on the United States Constitution.

Speaker 2 (01:12:31):
But it wasn't just bizarre displays. There were overt ugly
calls to action.

Speaker 32 (01:12:38):
You gotta grab a cub, we gotta churn around the
cubs of this fascist system.

Speaker 42 (01:12:44):
These ice Asians gotta get shot and wiped out the
state machinery.

Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
That's a full display right there, has to.

Speaker 2 (01:15:25):
Looks like you're losing twelve minutes this way.

Speaker 5 (01:15:27):
Then you hit a wall o breaks at West Road southbound.

Really bad news for all these people out here. That
scream didn't wind all weekend. Donald Trump is still your president.
I've independently confirmed that. So sorry to tell them that
nothing has changed.

Speaker 6 (01:16:45):
Journalist Nick Sorter on Fox he's been covering the violence there.
He actually was arrested just for doing his job earlier
this month. That charge eventually was dropped. By the way,
so much of the no Kings protests being peaceful, shot

a rainbow crosswalk in Montrose, which is already being painted

got that at seven thirty seven h three, President Trump
trying to keep our city safe and illegal drugs out

(01:17:30):
of the country, targeting drug boats and narco terrorists from Colombia,
calling that country's president Gustavo Petro a quote lunatic.

Speaker 2 (01:17:39):
They just have a moronic leader in charge right now.

Speaker 8 (01:17:42):
But there's an election next year, and I think that's
going to go very differently in our relationship with Columbia.

Speaker 2 (01:17:47):
Be back on track after this guy's gone.

Speaker 6 (01:17:50):
Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno, Now, this is why Trump is
doing all of this. More than half a million Americans
have died since twenty fifteen because of drug cartel activity, and.

Speaker 9 (01:18:00):
Former DEA chief Ray Donovan says the designation by President
Trump of nations like Colombia and Venezuela as extremely dangerous
will be effective.

Speaker 2 (01:18:10):
It's elevated.

It's from clearly just a criminal issue to a national

a lot more about having a political issue and satisfying
that far left base that was marching in places around
the country.

Speaker 6 (01:18:46):

Senate Dems voted against reopening things for the eleventh time yesterday.
If you believe the polls, Democrats and Republicans are both
to blame for all of this, But political consultant Bill

It's not one or the other. If it's down the middle,

Speaker 6 (01:19:11):
It's now seven oh five. Early voting continues across Texas
through Halloween. Polls are now open. Meantime, there's been more
focused on next year's primaries and how Texas Congressman Wesley
Hunt is pitching himself to Republican voters in the Senate race.

Speaker 13 (01:19:26):
Hunt is trying to portray himself as politically similar to
Ken Paxton, but without the baggage. The AG's political scandals
have also been highlighted by the incumbent John Cornyn, but
experts say when the accusations come from Hunt, they hit harder.

Speaker 14 (01:19:40):
I think it resonates more because again, you're talking about
a guy who is well liked by President Trump.

Speaker 13 (01:19:45):
As UT San Antonio professor John Taylor, Paxton is accused
of mortgage fraud, and there are allegations that he has
been cheating on his wife with a married Christian influencer.

Speaker 6 (01:19:55):

whether or not he'll appeal to Texans given his left

Speaker 10 (01:20:06):
That's always been the failure of Democrats that they don't
realize that Texas is more conservative than anything else.

That's why a.

Speaker 12 (01:21:11):
So.

Speaker 4 (01:21:12):
One of the most I guess common food allergies you
see with kids, in particular of peanut allergies, and for
some of them it can be life threatening. Which here,
here's the thing about allergies. Is it just me or
does it just feel like we have a lot of
kids that are more allergic to more things than we

(01:21:34):
had before, a lot of kids that are allergic to
you know, wheat products and have to eat gluten free
and all these types of things. I don't recall when
I was a kid, it was pretty rare to have
a thing like a peanut allergy. It seems much more
common these days. But they've been studying this in a
decade after a landmark study proved that feeding peanut products

(01:21:57):
to young babies could prevent development of life threat analogies.
New research finds the changes made a big difference in
the real world. About sixty thousand children have avoided developing
a peanut analogy after guidance first issued in twenty fifteen,
up ended medical practice by recommending introducing the allergy into
infants starting as early as four months. So you give

(01:22:20):
a child at an earlier age, you know, peanut products,
they're less likely to develop analogy. That's kind of remarkable.
So I mean, who wants to experiment with that, I
guess is my question, because you get a reaction. Here's

(01:22:43):
the thing about you know, I once had this explain
to me, and it makes sense that at least with
some things that you end up getting an allergic reaction to,
it is because you've just had too much of it
over the course of time. For example, for people who
have fever or allergic you know, ragweed or whatever that

(01:23:04):
allergen may be. And we're getting some of that right now.
I can tell that it's your body's way of saying, Okay,
that's enough of that. You may not have been allergic
to it as a child, but after years and years
of being exposed to it, you develop an allergy to it.

(01:23:25):
It was the same way for me with penicillin. I
was never allergic to penicillin, and then one time I
had mononucleosis as a teen, and they were just pumping
me full of penicillin, and finally my body said, okay,
that's enough penicillin. And I haven't been able to take
it since the only other thing. Same thing with bee stings.
I'm allergic to bee stings, and I never was as

(01:23:50):
a kid. I got stung plenty by bee, but at
one point in time, evidently my body said, okay, enough
of the bee stings, notough of the bee venom. You're
allergic now. So I think I think there may be
some rational explanation as to why this therapy is a
very young person would work, as far as avoiding something
like a penodelogy seven to ten time for traffic and
weather together, you.

Speaker 2 (01:24:09):
Get some devil's advocacy on this.

Speaker 5 (01:24:11):
Tony the Tiger, do you really okay, but first I
need to stop bumping my gums and get to the
real stuff here.

Speaker 2 (01:24:17):

Speaker 5 (01:24:34):
So first of all, you've got the one at west

That one's outbound, not inbound. Not only is that backing

You know what, So this is a cold front that's

our showers and yeah, just toss a coin.

Speaker 6 (01:26:41):
Okay, that's all I'm gonna say. Just toss a coin.

Speaker 18 (01:26:45):
It could be anywhere. Honestly, it just depends on where
the moisture is the greatest. And right now it's fairly
dry out there. I mean I'm not talking about in
terms of rain, I'm talking about the air masses.

Speaker 2 (01:26:57):
Fairly dry.

Speaker 18 (01:26:57):
No, we are seeing it increase in some of the humidity,
so we'll see how it pounds out. It is a
fifty to fifty shot of showers and storms this afternoon, folks,
uper eighties to low nineties tomorrow, a little less heat
in humidity and no rain load to mid eighties tomorrow,
the rain twenty percent chance of a shower Thursday, and
a thirty percent chance of showers and some thunder Friday.

You know, I don't pay a lot of attention to
New Jersey politics for obvious reasons, But what's going on
right now in the governor's race there and then the
governor's race in Virginia. Either one of these clues as
to what the midterm elections might be like. The one
in New Jersey particularly interesting because it's a razor thin
margin in a very blue state between the Republican and

Forty KTRH seven twenty three hour time here on Houston's
Morning News. All Right, politics in New Jersey, a very
very blue state. Let's talk about that with the Fox
News columnist Liz Peak. The Republican candidate is certainly somebody
very familiar. However to voters. Isn't this likely the third
time he's run for governor?

Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
It's true, but he's done pretty well.

Speaker 44 (01:29:43):
Last time he came within three points of beating Phil Murphy,
the incumbent governor. So you know, he has a very
good shot here at defeating Mikey Cheryl, who is a
Democrat candidate in.

Speaker 28 (01:29:55):
The race as time around.

Speaker 44 (01:29:57):
And I think, you know, if you look at New
Jersey residents and the fact that I think eighty five
percent of them are dissatisfied with life in New Jersey.
Why because of incredibly high taxes, if the highest property
taxes in the country and amongst the highest corporate tax rate,
and also income tax on regular residents, and the fact

(01:30:20):
that cost of living is through the roof. All the
things that have typically sort of driven voters to look
for a change are in place. And I think the
real corker this time around is the cost of electricity,
which is up twenty two percent this year in New Jersey.
And it's not because oil and gas prices are up
twenty two percent.

Speaker 2 (01:30:40):
They're not.

Speaker 44 (01:30:41):
It's not because coal prices are up that much, or
even the cost of installations of renewables. It's because of
incredibly terrible policies the Democrat Murphy and his predecessor Democrat
governors have put in place, basically banning the importation of
natural gas and using abundant sheet natural gas to replace

(01:31:03):
other kinds of energy which are more expensive. So New
Jersey voters I think have seen what the Democrats can
do and they don't like it.

Speaker 4 (01:31:11):
However, they do seem to keep voting for them. I mean,
she still has fifty percent in the polls. I mean,
at least fifty percent of New Jersey ands evidently don't
mind paying through that. I you know what for all
this stuff, Well, we'll see.

Speaker 44 (01:31:25):
Cinderelli has been closing the gap. Also, Cheryl has had
a couple of scandals come to light, mainly about her
military schooling. She was not allowed to march with her
graduating class because presumably of honor code violations. She says
is because she didn't turn in her fellow cadets. But

(01:31:48):
you know who knows the truth of it. She won't
release the records, but you know, we'll see.

Speaker 45 (01:31:53):
I think this.

Speaker 44 (01:31:54):
Election is going to be quite interesting because what we
saw on Saturday with is absurd no Kings protests across
the country is basically outrage against Donald Trump, and you
have to kind of pull yourself back and say, what
exactly are they so cross about? Are they angry that
we've closed and secured the border.

Speaker 2 (01:32:13):
I don't think so.

Speaker 44 (01:32:14):
Most Americans think that was a really good thing to do.
Are they really furious that Trump is trying to drive
down crime.

Speaker 28 (01:32:22):
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 44 (01:32:23):
In some New Jersey cities they need to drive down crime.
Some of these cities in New Jersey are incredibly dangerous
and amongst the most dangers in the country. So if
you kind of pick apart the issues that Donald Trump
ran on and that Cidarelli is running on, like banning
sanctuary cities, getting rid of by the way, offshore wind towers,

(01:32:45):
wind towers in offshore parts of New Jersey and the
waters off New Jersey, that is highly contentious. These are
crown jeweled beaches in New Jersey. They don't want wind towers,
which by the way, can have accidents and really foul
your beaches with shards of silicon glass. I mean, these

(01:33:07):
are dangerous operations, and I think New Jersey voters are
not happy with that.

Speaker 4 (01:33:11):
So do you think, Liz, that this is a preview
of the midterms. Will this give us any idea of
what the midterms are likely to be like or what
the big issues are likely to be for the midterms
on how this race turns out?

Speaker 44 (01:33:22):
I hope so, I hope it really does come down
to taxes, money wasted on renewable energy, which is really
hurting America. The fact that Trump is trying to turn
that around. Cost of living, of course, is going to
be right up there at the top. But again, if
you can pin cost of living increases on local politicians
who have insisted on higher taxes, which by the way,

(01:33:44):
gets funneled into everything you pay for in a state
like New Jersey, and higher energy costs, I think the
Democrats are on the losing side of that.

Speaker 4 (01:33:53):
Okay, well we'll see what happens soon enough. Well, we
elections just a couple of weeks away. We'll see guard Liss,
thank you Fox News on this, Liz Peak. It's seven

Traffic Center from our KTRH Generator super Center, twenty four
hour Weather Center partly clouding. Fifty to fifty chance of
a stray shower storm today with the high tip of
j'roid about ninety currently at seventy four. Here at your
official severe weather station, News Radio seven forty KTRH. It's
time now for the news. Here's Cliff Saunders.

Speaker 6 (01:36:27):
Thank you, Jimmy seven thirty two on KTRH tops story.
Yesterday mark nine months since President Trump's return promising to
crack down unillegal immigration, promises kept.

Speaker 27 (01:36:38):
Since January, the Department of Homeland Security has arrested over
four hundred and eighty thousand criminal illegal aliens. Seventy percent
of those individuals have criminal charges against them or have
been convicted of those criminal charges.

Speaker 6 (01:36:53):
EHS Secretary Christy Nome. The administration is also continuing enforcement
of English language standards for truckers, leading to about six
thousand being taken.

Speaker 2 (01:37:03):
Off the road this year.

Speaker 19 (01:37:04):
It's not yet clear how many of those were operating
in Texas, but this is a win for safety.

Speaker 28 (01:37:08):
This issue and others highlighted the fact that you have
individuals out there that are hauling active loads in the
state of Texas who aren't qualified to be behind the wheel.

Speaker 19 (01:37:16):
Jonas Sparza with the Texas Trucking Association says this is
unveiling deeper safety red flags on Texas highways.

Speaker 28 (01:37:22):
The majority of them are those who don't carry the
qualifications to drive the truck, to training, the education that
it takes. These are all things that are being exposed.

Speaker 19 (01:37:31):
He added that there needs to be more penalties for
those that are putting on qualified drivers behind the wheel.
Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KTRH NOW.

Speaker 6 (01:37:38):
Seven thirty three The left loses and throws a temper
tantrum as four people were arrested for protesting as a
rainbow crosswalk was removed from Montrose.

Speaker 29 (01:37:48):
Who know that we are the most of our city
in the country. We have everybody in this city, in
this community, including our clear entrance siblings.

Speaker 6 (01:37:58):
That protester with our TV partners Channel two. According to
reports this morning, residents in the area already repainted the
crosswalk in rainbow colors. You knew this was going to happen.
Aris County Judge Lena Hidalgo waded in and somehow connected
this whole thing to her failed plot to raise your
property taxes.

Speaker 30 (01:38:17):
What's happening in the city and unfortunately also in the County,
where a majority of the Commissioner's Court has decided to
also appease special interests.

Speaker 1 (01:38:26):
Is we are.

Speaker 30 (01:38:28):
Defunding basic services to pay for salary increases for some.

Speaker 6 (01:38:33):
And I'll go on social media now the trigger left
nationally a Chicago elementary school teacher under fire for mocking
Charlie Kirk's assassination during the No Kings protest. Our fellow
teachers are lining up to make sure that Lucy Martinez
keeps her job.

Speaker 2 (01:38:49):
That's the sickness I'm trouble.

Speaker 31 (01:38:51):
That's where I lay around at night, thinking, how in
the world can we live alongside of people that celebrate
assassinations like this in public?

Speaker 6 (01:39:01):
Ktrh is Clay Travis. It's now seven thirty four.

Speaker 2 (01:39:05):
I think China has been very respectful of us.

Speaker 32 (01:39:08):
They're paying tremendous amounts of money to us as in
the form of tariffs. As you know, they're paying fifty
five percent. That's a lot of money. They never were
paying anything over years and years and years.

Speaker 6 (01:39:20):
President Trump downplaying trade tensions between the two countries, telling
reporters he expects to get a fair trade deal done
with the Chinese. He leaves for a trip to Asia
later this week. Overnight trading is flat across the board
this morning, after the Dow gained five hundred and fifteen
points yesterday. The state of Texas has long been known
for being one of the few without state income tax,

(01:39:43):
but that may soon become less of a novelty. Paul
Gleeson with Americans for Tax Reform says Texas can't rest
on its quote low tax laurels.

Speaker 16 (01:39:53):
Other states are seeking to join Texas in the club
and no income tax states, so as that becomes less
of an advantage, It's important to lawmakers others laws in
the code, whether that be disproportionately high property taxes or
whether it's continuing to ship away to margins.

Speaker 6 (01:40:05):
Tax Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia, and both Carolinas are all
looking to zero out their state income taxes. Seven thirty
six today is the second day of early voting in Texas.
The period runs through the thirty first. Now you might
think that this off your election is not important. You'd
be wrong, though. There are seventeen statewide props on the balance.

Speaker 33 (01:40:28):
Most of the propositions are red meat issues for Republicans,
like a constitutional amendment clarifying that to vote, you must
be a US citizen. State Senator Brian Birdwell says this
makes it harder to change in the future.

Speaker 26 (01:40:41):
Will create additional safeguards, and should it ever be changed,
the citizens would be the ones authorizing the change.

Speaker 33 (01:40:47):
He says that in a handful of states, non citizens
are allowed to vote in local elections. Critics of the
measures say it's redundant and unnecessary. It's already illegal for
illegal immigrants to vote in Texas, that is.

Speaker 6 (01:40:59):
Case Trh's rexotes. There are also key governor's races in
Virginia and New Jersey. Fox's list Peak says it'll be
a blueprint for the twenty twenty six midterms.

Speaker 34 (01:41:09):
Joe Biden's lasting impact on the country is showing up
in a lot of ways that I think the Republican
should focus on and should focus people's attention.

Speaker 6 (01:41:18):
On, which she says Jack Chitdarelli is doing finally. Former
Astros outfielder George Springer hits the go ahead three run homer.
Toronto beats the Mariners four to three, winning the Alcs,
moving on to a World Series date Friday with the Dodgers.
I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's News weather in traffic station

Speaker 4 (01:41:38):
Need pond cleaning or dredging Daniel Dean two eight one,
three five six dirt.

Speaker 3 (01:41:44):
Your best ways are round Houston next on the ten
mine seven KTRH.

Speaker 4 (01:41:52):
So head on over to the Superhub. Except super Hubs
not open yet, and the neighbors still aren't happy about it.
They they feel like the city has not been transparent with,
as you know, answering their questions about security and police
patrols in the neighborhood and all that kind of stuff.
There's also concern over how much the facility is going

(01:42:13):
to cost versus how much the building's actually worth. Here
is the report from our television partner, a KPRC too.

Speaker 46 (01:42:19):
We at least get the Stability Ordinance in place within
a one mile radiance of this area.

Speaker 2 (01:42:24):
I think it's m health okay.

Speaker 42 (01:42:27):
So the civility zone is a civilian zone, like the
Edo Civility Zone and the Downtown Such Business Custrict Civility Zone,
both of them. However far that reaches right now is
twenty four.

Speaker 39 (01:42:39):
Secy Egan showed up to the Houston Homeless Living Center
on Emancipation Avenue hoping to be a part of the
mayor's tour. The city says the news site will serve
as a triage and transitional center, connecting people to healthcare,
treatment and housing.

Speaker 46 (01:42:53):
My concern is that there's sixteen million being spent on
this very quickly, and it's appraised at six million in
There is no security implementation that's been given to us
other than trust us.

Speaker 39 (01:43:06):
She wants answers about safety and how the city plans
to protect her neighborhood.

Speaker 46 (01:43:11):
How are they going to keep us secure, keep it clean.
They held this media event now they haven't voted on it.

Speaker 39 (01:43:20):
During the dour city leaders show reporters where people would
receive care and counseling. Satur Wait says the facility will
include two hundred and twenty five beds, twenty four hour security,
and patrols to help keep the area safe.

Speaker 22 (01:43:33):
We will have.

Speaker 42 (01:43:34):
Resources in this area doing additional patrols work on this
because we made a promise to this community that we
were going to make this area the best area.

Speaker 22 (01:43:43):
So that's the plan.

Speaker 42 (01:43:44):
We will we will have additional resources out here. If
we get additional funding, we will deploy that funding to security.

Speaker 22 (01:43:51):
And outreach in this area.

Speaker 42 (01:43:53):
The idea is that everybody close to this facility gets
the most benefit out of this facility.

Speaker 4 (01:44:00):
Okay, building is worth about six million. The sixteen million
dollar figure is that for the building and for the
programs are going to operate out of the building, and
for the beds and all the other things. I mean,
what does the sixteen million cover? They aren't spending sixteen
million on a building that a praise for six million,
are they? And this legitimate question ask us? After all,

(01:44:23):
government's been known to spend too much money on things before.
And I love the civility zone it had you ever
heard of a civility zone before? See, the only big
city needs to have a civility zone. A civility zone
means that you're not allowed to lie or to sit
down on the sidewalks between certain hours. What are those hours,

(01:44:45):
by the way, like nine to five? Is it like
bankers hours? Yeah, y'all can't sleep on the sidewalk between
nine and Five's the business days over? You can go
ahead and sleep on the sidewalks, but not until then?
How does that work? Seven forty times traffic and weather together.
As we check out the drive again, here's sky mine.

Speaker 5 (01:45:03):
All right, dude, we got All ninety inbound. That's just
past the Fort ben entrance. I got a wreck here,
looks like they're about to clear it. But this is
scooching up your rent from the Fort mint Yes, I'm

now on All ninety the most city expressway from the
Beltway looks like about an eight or nine minute loss

(01:45:25):
here to eighty eight. We cleared the wreck at five
to eighteen. That's Broadway going through Perland.

Speaker 2 (01:45:30):
That's gone.

Speaker 5 (01:45:31):
Some of the onlines are still showing it there. It's
not Also, we have the squish here on Highway six.
I'd love to hear from Kevin from Danbury. On that
golf freeway. The breaks right at waffle House Airport.

Speaker 2 (01:45:41):
We're used to that.

Speaker 5 (01:45:42):
Checking bridges toll Bridge, a little bit of a scooch
now right after it stay the course there and some
hooplaw on the Sherman Bridge southbound. I'll bet they do
more of that blasted pavement repair over by Golf Bank
golf Gate rather, that's going to be the Southwop sixteen
at forty five. And then we've cleared. One of our
two Rex North Freeway Greens has gone. West Mount is

(01:46:03):
still there. They're both outbound, not inbound, but truck or Tim.

Speaker 6 (01:46:07):
Says, nineteen sixty is going on all.

Speaker 5 (01:46:10):
Right, still inbound slow downs here. Drake from Texas City's
on the tip line.

Speaker 1 (01:46:14):
Mike, there is fog down here on the highway fix
between Alvin and Santa Fe.

Speaker 5 (01:46:19):
How about that fog terry Highway six around Alvin and
Santa Fe.

Speaker 2 (01:46:24):
That's interesting.

Speaker 25 (01:46:25):
Also, the best way to eat sandy corn around the fire,
so you can take that.

Speaker 5 (01:46:31):
Bag and the prejudice around here. Good grief. You know
it started with Jack from Connecticut, butter Cup. I think
we could coexist. Really, I'm in the USA Rvresorts dot
Com traffic sound.

Speaker 4 (01:46:43):
You know it makes it takes candy corn to make
Reese's peanut buttercuffs nutritious.

Speaker 18 (01:46:48):
It's like part of a healthy It's like a very
healthy meal compared to antioxidants.

Speaker 2 (01:46:55):
Of course it does, we're talking. Plus it releases endorphins
into your brain.

Speaker 6 (01:47:00):
Yeah, and and calories into your butt.

Speaker 4 (01:47:05):
In particular to your butt. Why do the why did
candy bar calories go straight to your butt? That's what
I want to know from r Katirah Generator super Center
twenty four. Our weather center Terry is here, and we've
got plenty of sunshine to starter our day, except where
it's foggy.

Speaker 18 (01:47:18):
I can answer that question about why do they go
to your butt because she's a sign there and eat more?

Speaker 6 (01:47:24):
Oh, because you're locked into place?

Speaker 2 (01:47:27):
Can't why?

Speaker 18 (01:47:30):
All right, Yeah, it's really nice. Actually there's where Angleton.
I'm seeing some myst being reported based city too, but
most of us are starting off with a nice, quiet morning.

Speaker 6 (01:47:42):
We got some right on the way though for the
afternoon folks.

Speaker 18 (01:47:45):
Fifty percent chance of a shower thunderstorm later today, like
mid to late afternoon, upper eighties to low nineties tomorrow,
little less.

Speaker 6 (01:47:53):
Heat and humidity. Really nice load to mid eighties tomorrow.

Speaker 18 (01:47:57):
We'll be in the eighties Thursday and Friday with just
a slight chance of a shower thunderstorm Saturday.

Speaker 6 (01:48:03):
That's the big change.

Speaker 18 (01:48:04):
Widespread showers and storms, like a ninety percent chance that
you're gonna get wet on Saturday, and the temperatures will
only be in the seventy Saturday afternoon.

Speaker 4 (01:48:13):
Can't wait to turn off my irrigation system right now.

Speaker 3 (01:50:01):
Next on the ten Time Saving Traffic con seven KTRH.

Speaker 4 (01:50:07):
Yeah, the No Kings protests all across the country. Who
funded it? Who's behind it? We talked a little bit
about it. Let's talk a little more about it. Pro
Project editor Astro Nomini and Jason Rantz on the big
money behind the No King's protest. Who's putting up the
big money? Who's paying for all this?

Speaker 47 (01:50:27):
This is a protest industry. And so what I did
is what I learned to do in journalism, which is
follow the money. And I established that there's two hundred
and sixty organizations that were behind this No King's protest.
And as Jessica Jenica Pounds, a computer scientist with Data Republican,
said to me, they have built an empire, these left

(01:50:49):
wing organizations using nonprofit status to use the machine that
we have in America to way to war, a political
war on Donald Trump, and so everything was orchestrated. It
was political theater from beginning to end, from social media.

Speaker 2 (01:51:10):
And the real question for people is the fact that these.

Speaker 47 (01:51:13):
Organizations we're living rent free, basically tax free in America,
pulling off these protests.

Speaker 48 (01:51:22):
Yeah, SAMs like Jason, there are hundreds of organizations behind
these protests. It's not one particular organization, but it.

Speaker 45 (01:51:29):
Is, like I really think it's actually their social life.

Speaker 48 (01:51:34):
I don't know if because we don't have clubs, communities,
civics organizations.

Speaker 2 (01:51:38):
Anymore, they think those are racists. I don't know, but
this is as.

Speaker 48 (01:51:40):
Close to church as many, not all, but many of
the protesters who showed up really have anymore.

Speaker 45 (01:51:48):
Yeah, they don't believe in God, but they do believe
in this kind of activism and this is what they
do professionally, and they're taking advantage of different tax CODs
like five oh one C four status, which a lot
of these organizations are the They're supposed to be social
welfare organizations and they're allowed to get political, but they
don't have to disclose their donor list, which is how
all of this dark money ends up getting funneled here.
I mean, in the case of No Kings, you have Indivisible,

(01:52:11):
which is the primary organization behind it. It gets funding, however,
from places like the George Soros Foundation, his Open Society foundations.
They're getting that kind of money, and then they're getting
institutional support from all of these other groups that Ozra
just pointed out, everything from the mainstream stuff like the ACLU,
but also to groups like the Communist Party of America

(01:52:33):
where they might not donate directly to Indivisible, but what
they do is they share their contact lists, or they
reach out to their contact lists, say hey, show up
at so and so for this event.

Speaker 2 (01:52:46):
And the money that they do end up spending these
groups in.

Speaker 45 (01:52:48):
Generals for like signage things like that, but also the
professional activists who show up, who then use this to
get more contact information for the people who show up,
and then solicit for funds for donations from.

Speaker 4 (01:52:59):
Them well funded business. Y'all have a great day. We'll
see you tomorrow morning, bright nearly five. Hope to see
you the SAT from four and am nine fifty KPRC
