It's here North Beld Jimmy eastbound.
Speaker 5 (00:46):
I swear I didn't put that stall right there on
the right side. Now, that's kind of a spot if
you're trying to head over from two pointy nine.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
You're trying to get to Bush Airport.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
Plus we're getting people that aren't from town going that
way to catch a plane, So let's watch out for
those that.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Don't know what's going on right there. It's kind of
a dark spot too.
Speaker 5 (01:02):
So that's North Sam eastbound at forty five north. So

we talk to Terry Smith at the Weather Channel in

for the news. Here's clip Slaunders.
Speaker 6 (01:33):
Thank you, Jimmy five oh one on KTRH. Good morning, everybody.
Our top story. Texas Republicans are on the verge of
another failure in Austin. Several bills are stalled in the
House and today is the deadline to consider legislation.
Speaker 7 (01:48):
This is just another example of the failures of the
Republican House leadership.
Speaker 8 (01:52):
Every single failure is not on the Democrats. We got
to stop blaming the Democrats. All of the failures our
party owns.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
State Rep.
Speaker 7 (02:00):
David Lowe says that leadership is prioritizing Democrat legislation and
ignoring Republican bills.
Speaker 8 (02:05):
There's a whole bunch of bills, election integrity bills, off
the sexualization of children's bills, and things like that. They're
just not a priority.
Speaker 7 (02:14):
Lo says, this is all the results of very intentional
delay tactics that have been used by House Democrats and
GOP leadership. Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 6 (02:22):
Now, one of the bills that is stalled is the
Texas Women's Privacy Act that would keep men out of
women's spaces like locker rooms and restrooms.
Speaker 9 (02:30):
There's still a lot of government owned swimming pools and
fitness centers and so on where you've got men just
casually going into the women's locker room and forcing women
to you know, to be next to them, to undress
and be naked in front of them.
Speaker 6 (02:42):
Jonathan Signs with Texas Value says this is stuck in
committee right now. The Texas House did manage to pass
a bill that will overhaul the star test in public schools.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
State Rep.
Speaker 6 (02:54):
Brad Buckley says this does not, though, and decrease accountability.
Speaker 10 (02:58):
Simply brings it in a fashion that is more responsive
and more informative.
Speaker 6 (03:03):
The once a year test would be replaced with shorter
tests at the start, middle, and end of the school year.
Buckley says that way teachers and parents can track progress. However,
the plan faces an uphill battle in the Senate. It's
been two months since the incident went viral and Katie
isd dad is still finding the district after his daughter
(03:25):
was suspended for defending herself against a bully.
Speaker 11 (03:28):
That would be Danny Jan Francisco, whose daughter was beat.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Up by a football player.
Speaker 12 (03:34):
I spoke in front of the school board last night.
It's a little ridiculous the game that they're playing.
Speaker 11 (03:39):
Jian Francisco has reached out to the DA and law
enforcement to no avail.
Speaker 12 (03:44):
Now all send me back to kid and Tony. It's
their jurisdiction. But since they ruled it a mutual confrontation,
that means that I can't press charges against his kid.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
But it's very.
Speaker 11 (03:55):
Frustrating, especially since the video shows she threw a punch.
Jeff Biggs, News Radio seven forty Katie five oh four.
Speaker 6 (04:06):
Now, the President continues his Middle East treep in Katar.
He's actually addressing our troops right now. Overnight, Treasury Secretary
Scott bessn't told investors in Doha is confident a trade
war with China will not re escalate.
Speaker 13 (04:20):
We have a mechanism with our Chinese counterparts to prevent
an escalation again. We're going to go into a series
of negotiations.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
We have a lot to.
Speaker 13 (04:30):
Talk about, but I think over the next ninety days
we can accomplish a lot.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
China and the US did lower terras on each other
for the next three months. The President is also unlikely
to be at today's peace talks between Russia and Ukraine
in Turkey, this.
Speaker 14 (04:46):
After learning Putin was not on the list of attendees.
A US official says Trump bone and tend Ukraine's president
Vladimir Zelenski, who's on his way to Turkey, had earlier
said he would only participate if Putin was present. President
Trump wants the two sides to sign a thirty day
ceasefire deal.
Speaker 6 (05:04):
Ashley Stromeyer reporting investors are not happy with this. Futures
are down across the board this morning, and oil is
down four percent to about sixty dollars and fifty cents
a barrel five h five. In Washington, House Republicans continue
to work on the Trump budget, but some say they
won't vote for it, and that includes Texas's Chip Roy.
Speaker 15 (05:26):
We're sitting and staring at thirty six trillion a debt.
It'll be fifty six trillion even if I get everything
I want. So I've got to go fight to reform
medicaid so we can stop funding naval body, stop the
blue state money laundering, and restore fiscal sanity for the
American people.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Roy on Fox.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
As of now, Republicans have a two twenty to two
thirteen advantage in the House. Also on Capitol Hill, fireworks

He's not a criminal.
Speaker 16 (06:03):
He's not a human tran not a number of ms.
Speaker 13 (06:06):
You vouched for mister Garcia when your team sat, ma'am,
you vouched for him when you said he was mistakenly deported.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
I didn't vouch for him.
Speaker 17 (06:13):
I did not see I'm not photo then deported.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Absolutely.
Speaker 6 (06:16):

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Houston's Morning News continues with Jimmy Barrett.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Is too blame?
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Well, let's see who's to blame on this one. I
like to play this game. Five or eight is our time.
This is like a critical thinking exercise now, I know
it's five oi in the morning. It's kind of early
for critical thinking. Well, let's have some fun with this.
Let's see what's going on. The story is the US
Virgin Islands government is suing PepsiCo and Coca Cola over
plastic bottles which evidently had been sold in excess in
(07:46):
the US Virgin Islands. Lawsuit claims the companies have deceived
consumers by claiming their single use plastic bottles are quote
an environmentally responsible choice because after all, they are recyclable.
The defendants named of the case also include cc IE
Virgin Islands with LLC, which is a beverage distributor, PepsiCo Caribbean,
(08:09):
a division of PepsiCo, saying, in part due to the
significant part in the defendant's conduct and falsely promoting and
distributing single use plastic, the Virgin Islands faces a waste
management crisis. They claim that there's way too many plastic
bottles in their landfills and that have been littered around
their beautiful islands, and that some of them are going
(08:32):
to end up in the ocean, and when they end
up in the ocean, they will take centuries to break down,
and they will break down into smaller pieces known as microplastics,
which can harm humans and animals in large amounts, are
ingested over history, over time. Okay, so here's where the
(08:55):
who do we blame park comes in. Whose fault is
it that there are plastic bottles on US Virgin Islands
because there's plastic bottles everywhere? Is it the people they're suing?
Is it Pepsi and Coca Cola? Is it their fault
for producing drinks in plastic bottles? Is it do we
(09:15):
blame the consumers themselves for not responsibly disposing of said
plastic bottles? Or do we blame the government of the
US Virgin Islands and the waste management people there for
not being able to come up with a way to
take care of the plastic bottle waste? Who's to blame?
(09:38):
They're putting all the blame on Pepsi and Coca Cola
for producing the plastic bottle to begin with. But the
fact of the matter is nobody's forcing you to buy
a plastic bottle. I'm sure there's still glass bottles available
in the Caribbean. So who do you think who's to
blame on that one? Five to ten time for traffic
and weather.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
Together jack wagons that throw the plastic bottles us?
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Do you mean like the responsibility see with me? So
that's crazy, man, I know crazy talk.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
You brought a thinking exercise to us this morning, Jimmy,
I can tell you where the thinking is not happening,
and that's on the north wag.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
What do you think they're thinking about? I don't know.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
Just coming over from the squeeze that's a little heavier
than normal and some of those people in that left
lane aren't thinking as they're going around the car. We're okay,
we have it bumped into each other so far. We
do have this one little penal squat stall on the
North Sam eastbound at forty five. Sometimes that happens, you
don't think nothing of it and then boom, somebody runs
into it.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
So watch out. This is North.
Speaker 5 (10:34):
Sam going eastbound right at forty five. If you're trying
to catch a plane, lookout coming down from the east.
Text let's hit a tip line seven one three two
one two t ips. If you would have told me
when I was a kid that people would know where
Tarkington was, I would have said, you're crazy, Shane.
Speaker 18 (10:50):
Yeah, might take a time this week that Cleveland Roads card.
Speaker 19 (10:55):
You're finding it against sandy left lane roast clothed.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
All right, we got kind of some go to smash southbound.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
Let's zoom that again at five twenty in the USA
Rbresorts dot Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
ROMO r KTRH Top Tax Defenders twenty four or whether
the center terry is here. But need to give you
the forecast looks like it's going to be pretty much
the same day every day between now and Sunday.
Speaker 20 (11:14):
You know, any change in our day to day weather
pattern is going to be very, very subtle. We've kind
of gotten stuck where high pressure is not going to budge,
and that means heat and humidity, and it means some
record heat as well. That possibility of record temperatures every
single day through the weekend upper eighties to mid nineties today,
(11:38):
upper eighties to upper nineties tomorrow, and then the temperature
stay the same through the weekend, and the heat indecks
today for a lot of folks is going to be
right at or just above one hundred degree. So if
you are heading outside today or the next couple of days,
just know that middle part of the day you are.
Speaker 21 (11:56):
Going to be feeling the humidity and the heat.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Right now, seventy six said your official severe weather station,
News Radio seven forty k TRH. It's Houston's Morning News,
brought to you by New South Windows Solutions. Now back
to Jimmy Barrits had the Houston Morning News team all
the info you need to take on the day. There's
a video that's gone viral of a young woman who
(12:20):
I was gonna say is a teacher, but it's past
tense now. She was a teacher for about three years
and grew so frustrated with her students, not all of
her students, but many of her students that she just said,
I can't do this anymore. This is ridiculous. She talked
about how many of the kids coming into her collection.
She's was a high school teacher. By the way, she
talked about many of her kids coming in to the classroom.
(12:41):
They couldn't even read, They had no critical thinking skills,
they couldn't write an essay without using artificial intelligence. More
than that story coming up next first though, at five
twenty less Dude, traffic and weather together usually check out
the drive once again of sky out.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
Yeah, it's interesting that digital read arts aren't showing much
on the East Texas Freeway southbound coming down after Cleveland.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
I know that drive well, but the backup, the suckage
is real.
Speaker 22 (13:06):
I know that.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
And now let's hit Alex from Tarkington. He's on the
tip line seven one three two one two tips.
Speaker 18 (13:11):
Hey, yos, got Mike fifty nine southbound at the East
River exits in Flendora through right lane closed with an
accident at somebody getting loaded up to tangling.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
All right, that's southbound, of course.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
And like I said, I can't really get the rest
of the media interested in this. You are my eyes,
so let me know, keep me updated. I'm the Generator

Speaker 1 (14:32):
I listened on the way home for traffic US Radio
seven KTRH.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
All right, I've got some educacation news here this morning.
A couple of things. First of all, Star testing, Star testing.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
I love.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
A lot of parents hate the Star test, old man.
They hate that it's an all day test. It comes
towards the end of the school year. And I've always
always wondered, why do I understand that they're trying to
figure out what you learned during the course of the year,
but why do you waste so late in the year
to do it, Because, first of all, the last four weeks,
maybe even longer last four weeks of school, nobody's doing
(15:06):
anything really other than messing around and reviewing materially you've
already done or getting ready for the test. Kids are distracted,
and the younger they are, the more distracted they are,
until you get to be a senior, in which case
you're pretty much distracted for the entire second half of
the year because you're getting ready to graduate. So that's
a bad time to do Star testing. And in my estimation,
(15:26):
in an overwhelming vote, I think it was like a hundred,
one hundred and forty three to one something like that,
the Texas House passed out a bill that would eliminate
the Star test and replace it with three tests that
would occur one in October one, in the middle of
the year between January thirteenth and February twenty first, and
(15:48):
an end of the year test between May fifteenth and thirtieth. Yeah,
the end of the year test is never going to
be a great idea, but it's a shorter test, so
it's basically dividing the material up into three test until
instead of doing you know, one big test at the
end of the year. But testing or non testing, there's
(16:09):
still a lot of frustrated teachers. Here is a teacher
obviously frustrate she's quitting after three years at the high
school level. She posted a video that went viral. More
than a million people have viewed it, talking about how
little many for hers students know. So here she is
a little bit of the video and then part of
an interview she did on Fox.
Speaker 24 (16:27):
A lot of these kids don't know how to read
because they have had things read to them, or they
can click a button and have something read out loud
to them. I just don't think these kids even care.
They don't they don't care about making a difference in
the world. They don't care about how to have a resume.
They don't care how I mean, how to write a resume.
They don't care how to write a cover letter because
(16:47):
chashc Will just do it for them. And I think
that we need to cut off technology from these kids,
probably until they go to college. So I taught for
three years. As I said in my video, I wasn't
always a teacher. I actually started my career in digital marketing.
So I've been in the digital world for about five
(17:08):
years now, or since I've graduated. And throughout the three years,
I've taught digital arts classes and I've taught in English class,
and I would say that in all of my teaching experience,
technology has posed quite a challenge, and with AI becoming
so accessible to children nowadays, especially teaching in an English.
Speaker 16 (17:31):
Or Core four classroom, it's been especially.
Speaker 24 (17:34):
Challenging kind of to have the kids comprehend and critical
think and think for themselves on certain things. So on
my way out, I wanted to kind of raise awareness
and just let people know how AI and technology is.
Speaker 16 (17:50):
Affecting their children these days.
Speaker 24 (17:52):
Well, a lot of students, And I do want to
be clear, I taught a lot of very motivated and
bright children, and so I don't want this come off
as if this is all the kids fault, but I
do know that a lot of times in my English classroom,
I would ask them to write down a short response
or just five sentences to answer a question, and a
(18:13):
lot of times it would be about two and a
half sentences and they would say, well, I can't think
of anything else to say, or well why do I
have to answer and complete sentences like you.
Speaker 16 (18:21):
Get the point from what I'm saying and just this
little sentence. And then a lot of times I would
assign essays, long form essays, and I know.
Speaker 24 (18:32):
How children write, especially when they handwrite me things in
the beginning of.
Speaker 16 (18:35):
The school year. And so when a student, how I
know how they write.
Speaker 24 (18:39):
Typically would give me a very eloquently and thorrow essay
on a topic that I know that normally wouldn't come
from them.
Speaker 16 (18:46):
I would ask them was this really you?
Speaker 24 (18:48):
And I'd run it through an AI generator, and of
course it would say one hundred percent chat gubt or
AI and I would speak to the student and they
would more so a question of well, if I have
to redo this, how much is it really going to
affect my grade?
Speaker 16 (19:02):
Trying to take the easy way out.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
Yeah, yeah, well, you know, think of when you were sixteen.
I mean, you had to have motivation to do the
things you did right. The things you didn't like to do,
you were lazy about it. Nothing else has changed with kids.
They're still pretty lazy. If they can get AI to
write the essay for them, who likes writing essays, then
they're going to do it. Five twenty seven. Time to
(19:25):
take a look at your money. Here's Jeff Bellinger and.
Speaker 25 (19:28):

Speaker 27 (21:32):
Iran has sort of agreed to the terms. Then I
going to make out I call it in a friendly way,
nuclear dust. We're not going to be making any nuclear
dust in Iran.
Speaker 6 (21:44):
President Trump in Qatar, giving it updates to where things
stand with Iran after four rounds of nuclear negotiations. He
also just got done talking to American troops before he
heads to the UAE this morning. He will not be
at today's talks between Russia and u Ukraine in Turkey.
Neither will Vladimir Putin. Trump told business leaders today he
(22:05):
never expected Putin to actually show up five point thirty
two in DC, a move to codify President Trump's executive
orders is gaining steam.
Speaker 28 (22:16):
We have got to start codifying these executive orders from
President Trump. America realizes what's going on. Congress seas to
wake up and Dad Gemmitt, We've got.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
To do our job.
Speaker 6 (22:29):
Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchett on X Several Texas congressmen signed
a letter urging Speaker Mike Johnson to get on board
with this. But it is Democrat ro Conna from California
the only one to actually introduce a bill to codify
Trump's order this week on prescription drug prices. Conna is
in the minority. Other Dems are talking about impeachment.
Speaker 29 (22:53):
Georgia Democrats Senator John Ossoff signal support for impeachment at
a town hall meeting, but notes it will require Democrats
controlling the House, while Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman says
impeachment talk.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Is just dumb.
Speaker 29 (23:06):
It's not going anywhere, but some Trump critics still want
to go forward.
Speaker 4 (23:10):
Foxes Mike, and man you well.
Speaker 6 (23:12):
Democrats are complaining about Qatar offering Trump a plane to
become the new Air Force one, ignoring the fact that
a House Democrat delegation accepted an all expenses paid trip
to Katar just.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
Four years ago.
Speaker 19 (23:27):
I actually have to credit President Trump for dismissing this, saying, hey,
we'd be stupid not to take this gift that's going
to the Department of Defense. The alternative is paying for
another one ourselves, which is ridiculous.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
Bobby Everley, with a fourth ben County GOP, says this
just proves the Left as nothing but rhetoric to use
against the President.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
Five point thirty three.
Speaker 6 (23:48):
In Austin, state, lawmakers hope to crack down on one
of the left's favorite gun grabbing tactics.
Speaker 30 (23:54):
A Texas House has passed to build a banned, taxpayer
funded gun buy back programs. Gun Owners of America Texas
director Lee Gibson says these programs are ineffective and front
with problems.
Speaker 31 (24:04):
Often the firearms that are brought are older, not in
working condition. Often there's no questions asked about where the
firearms came from. And often you can do private sales
just outside the buyback area. He would think that with
cause concerns.
Speaker 30 (24:20):
They've also shown no demonstrated reduction in crime. Houston and
Harris County have held several gun buybacks in recent years
to no effect. Corey Yolson, Who's Radio seven forty KTRH,
Thank you Corey.
Speaker 6 (24:30):
An alarming trend is data from Texas DPS shows they
are clearing cases at a lower rate than they did
in twenty twenty. Rice Is Bill King says that here
in Houston we are well below the national average.
Speaker 32 (24:42):
We need to have people that are responsible for managing
it overseeing police departments, like the police chiefs, mayors, city council.
People start asking why are these numbers so bad?
Speaker 33 (24:52):
What can we do to improve them.
Speaker 6 (24:53):
We reached out to Texas DPS. They did not reply,
according to a local television report. Newly rel at least
documents show that HPD officials knew back in twenty sixteen
about that secret code used to suspend thousands of criminal cases,
but did nothing to stop it. Former chief Troy Finner
only claimed knowledge in twenty twenty one. It's now five
(25:17):
point thirty five. Looking at your money. Credit card Jet
went down two percent in the first quarter of this year.
But it's not the win that you might think it is.
Speaker 34 (25:27):
That's because Americans routinely cut back after heavy holiday spending,
and they got their tax refund money.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
People are trying.
Speaker 22 (25:33):
The number one thing that people are using the money
for is saving more and number two is that payoff.
So that's a good thing.
Speaker 34 (25:40):
Financial advisor Ted Rossman says it's worth it to keep
our credit card balances as close to zero as possible
to make minimum payments.
Speaker 22 (25:47):
SARTs the average balance at the average rate you're in
debt for eighteen years. Credit card rates are so much
higher that this is one to prioritize.
Speaker 34 (25:54):
Ted says, considered lower interest loans or even a side
hustle job, because credit card interest is around twenty percent.
Charles Molino News Radio seven to forty KTRH.
Speaker 6 (26:04):
And this actually sounds like it comes from a Democrat,
but believe it or not, it's an idea from Texas
Senator Ted Cruz he wants to give each American baby
a thousand bucks when they're born to start a private
investment account. KTRH moneyman Patchen says, before you go off
on this, think about it. It could teach the next
(26:25):
generation to be less reliant on the government.
Speaker 35 (26:29):
You assume you put five thousand dollars a year in
at say a five percent annual rate to return, one
would have about one hundred and forty seven thousand dollars
by the time they're eighteen.
Speaker 6 (26:41):
The critics, though, say that we can't afford another federal program.
The national debt is over thirty six trillion dollars.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
Coming up.
Speaker 6 (26:49):
On five thirty seven, the Astros finish up the homestand
by beating Kansas City four to three. They take on
the Rangers tonight in Arlington for the first of four games.

There's a lot of stuff happening k steels, trade deals,
tax deals, stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
Check you in often for all this stuff.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
You need to know this stuff.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
News Radio seven KTRH.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
They're okay, I guess you need them to cook five
thirty eight hour time here on Houston's Worn News. So
why we talk about pots and pans, Well, because ninety
percent of them were made in China. Did you know
that ninety percent pots and pans are made in China?
Here's the good the good thing about tarif. There's a
lot of good things about tariffs and some not so
(27:45):
good things, I guess. But one of the good things
I think about tariffs is it's made us kind of
think about what we buy and where it comes from.
Now that there's a thirty percent tariff on everything from China.
It was gonna be one hundred and forty five, but
now they got knocked down to thirty percent, still enough
to make you think about where you're going to buy
your stuff from. Sometimes it feels like you don't have
(28:06):
a choice. Everything seems to come from China. So they
here's here's a little list, and we started with pots
and pans because ninety percent are made in China, far
and away the number one category. So I would think
it's it's hard to find pots and pans not made
in China. The next biggest source is India, but defined
(28:27):
American made pots and pans is going to be difficult
to do. Dishes sixty six percent made in China. Next
biggest source Mexico. Utensils eighty seven percent made in China.
Next biggest source Vietnam. Refrigerators eighty seven percent made in China.
Next biggest source Vietnam. Forty eight percent of televisions are
(28:50):
made in China. Next biggest sources Mexico. Couches forty three
percent made in China. Next biggest source Vietnam. Go see
mattress back made in a mat furniture.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
There's your answer for that one. Lamps forty eight percent
made in China. Next biggest source Mexico. Forty percent of
dresses ladies dresses are made in China. Forty percent of
all toilets are made in China. Thirty five percent of
all vacuum cleaners are made in China, and thirty percent
of all washer dryers are made in China. So those
(29:21):
are you know, some major things that are in all
of our lives. That's hard to find a source other
than China. Another reason why we need to bring more
of that manufacturing back here five forty time for traffic
and weather together.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Chase speakers are made in China.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
I think you're what your DJ speakers, Yeah, yeah, for
you know, oh yeah, for your for your wedding business
by children.
Speaker 5 (29:39):
I think let's go to the north Sand. We've cleared
that stall that was eastbound at forty five. It also
looks like they've cleared the East Texas Freeway coming down
from A six and Splendora right before East Road. We
had a wreck here and ambulance is pulled away, so
we're in good shape. We're in better shape now. Something
spackling us up after the toll Bridge south That sure
(30:00):
looks like a star.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
I wish we had real ramps there, but we don't.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
You have to sit in that intersection off the toll Bridge,
east Belt and southbound. We're a little smashed up because
of something that's happening right in that intersection itself. Downtown
East text elevated's moving, so is the piers elevated. I'm
right back at you in a few in the USA
RV Resorts dot Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
From RKTRH Generator Supercenter twenty four. Our weather Center, Terry Smith,
made in America. Her forecast made in America. It's all
American made for It is.
Speaker 21 (30:30):
A textan forecast, folks, Heat.
Speaker 20 (30:33):
Humidity, sunshine, and the only thing that's missing is rain.
There is not a drop of rain in sight through
early next week. I'm telling you this is going to
be a long stretch of dry weather and a long
stretch of hot temperatures upper eighties to mid nineties today,
heat in decks this afternoon, just over one hundred upper
eight east to upper nineties Tomorrow. We're going to stay
(30:55):
in the upper eighties to mid nineties through the weekend
into early next week.
Speaker 21 (30:58):
There's no big change this pattern through Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Right now, seventy five at your officials, Severe weather station,
News Radio seven forty KRH. New theme song for Democrats,
don't look back. Five forty nine is our time. And
it has to do with Joe Biden. That's the new
official line. Now, when they ask you about the Biden
decline and when you knew about it and that kind
of stuff, say, don't say we're not looking back. We're
(31:25):
moving forward. We're moving forward. That's the line. Here are
democrats spouting off the new line, and some reaction to
it on the five and.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
Not looking backward, we're looking forward. We're just looking forward.
We're looking forward. We're looking forward. I'm interested in going forward.
Speaker 36 (31:41):
That's backward stuff forward, that's very backward looking.
Speaker 19 (31:44):
I don't really want to review all of it because
it's past history.
Speaker 37 (31:48):
This is not actually about the Democrats. This is about
the media. They are the rats in this story. They're
like a member of the gang. In this case, it
was the gang of the White House, the Democrat and
the media. They're the member of the gang that is
now narking on everybody else so they can get prosecutorial
immunity so they don't go to jail.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
But the problem is in this case, they're.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
Just trying to save their jobs.
Speaker 37 (32:13):
These books are coming out to protect them, so they
could start talking about, oh, listen to these shocking revelations.
Biden will forget people's names publicly say dude, this is
not shocking to us. We were talking about this, but
they want you to buy into this is shocking. So
you think that it was shocking to them, Like, yeah,
(32:34):
can you believe this up?
Speaker 1 (32:35):
No, no, no, no, we saw it, and so did you.
You're lying, you're putting.
Speaker 37 (32:39):
These books out to protect your hide? What do they
lead with the wheelchair story that was supposed to be
the big story because and why do they choose that
as the big story?
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Because it was.
Speaker 37 (32:49):
About the physical issue and not the mental issue. But
we don't care if Joe Biden's in a wheelchair. We
don't care about that. That's not going to affect how
we leads a country. The mental incapacity, the twenty fifth
Amendment stuff, that's what we cared about. That's what the
media is worried about. You finding out that they covered
for that. The books are coming out because people are
(33:11):
trying to cash in on it. He's gone now they
don't have to protect him anymore. How do we cash
in on this? Isn't that what they spend all their
time thinking about is how do we make money from this?
Everybody's seeing him wants like Jake Tapper wants to write
a book? Is he wants he wants to enrich himself
on something he already knew about for years five point
(33:32):
fifty one Time for traffic and weather togethers we check
out the drive again. Here's guy Myney east Sam moving forward.
The wreck is gone, but the backup is still there.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
Unfortunately we're looking at eight extra minute southbound on the
toll bridge. Let's say Washburn Tunnel Thursday night is shut
down the tunnel night, so you could.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
Use that as an alternate.
Speaker 5 (33:49):
The best ray is to get around six y ten

(34:37):
our top stories this morning.
Speaker 6 (34:38):
Here's Cliff, Thank you, Jimmy, Texas House Republicans are on
the verge of yet another failure in Austin the US
Supreme Court. Here's arguments today over President Trump's order to
end birthright citizenship and Jimmy more trans madness, a boy
running against girls, and a Pennsylvania track meet. High school

Speaker 3 (35:13):
Live in It, your reliable forecast. Next on the ten
on seven forty KTRH, well out of Wisconsin. Little news here.
The Feds have charged Hannah duck In, that federal judge
who helped an illegal evade ice. Yep, she is facing
federal charges now. Saw a great shot of her in handcuffs.
(35:35):
By the way, she's also she's a big time mask lover.
You have you seen that clip of her They'll wearing
a mask next to a huge bus to Abraham Lincoln
that they put a huge mask on. Oh yeah, she
was all into the whole COVID stuff. So anyway, Jonathan Turley,
who is a constitutional law expert, got asked about the
(35:55):
charges against her and whether or not they can stick,
and how this whole thing's gonna work.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
This is a very liberal district and the jury pool
is likely to be.
Speaker 38 (36:05):
Sympathetic, and if all else fail, she could very well
end up with a type of jury nullification if a
couple of those jurors really just see this not as
the actual crime, but as the cause that has happened before.
But she will move, as she has done, to dismiss
these charges. I can't see any basis to do that.
(36:28):
You can certainly disagree with her motivations, but that's not
something that a judge could just assume without a trial.
So my assumption is that the motion to dismiss today
will be indeed turned down by the court.
Speaker 39 (36:42):
So in this new filing submitted by Judge Dugen today
as of midday today, Dugan and her legal team argue,
and I'm reading directly from a quote, the government cannot
prosecute Dugan because she is entitled to judicial immunity for
her official acts, and that the government has no basis
in law to prosecute her.
Speaker 30 (37:03):
Does she have a leg to stand on there?
Speaker 38 (37:05):
I don't see how that dog will hunt because she
was acting not as a judge. In my view, when
she took these steps, she went out into the hall,
confronted these agents, told them to go see the chief judge,
told them that they needed a warrant that they really
didn't need. They were allowed to conduct that arrest in
(37:25):
the hallway, which is what the chief judge told them,
But while they were speaking to the chief judge, she
then allowed she then led this person out a side
door to then this person evaded federal agents. None of
that strikes me as being within the scope of her
judicial duties.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
If it does, then the question is how far does
that extend?
Speaker 38 (37:47):
Could she have hit the guy her in her trunk
of her car because she had driven him out of
the courthouse because she had misdirected state officers, When exactly
does she stop being a judge when she's helping so
many evade federal authority.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
Well, yeah, the jury part of it's gonna be very interesting,
as he said at the beginning of that, that's a
very liberal part of Wisconsin, and it's gonna be difficult
to find in a partial jury when it comes to
these things. But hey, at least she's facing the charges.

Our top story.
Speaker 6 (39:51):
After months of slow walking the GOP agenda, the Texas
House TikTok running out of time, A key deadline to
pass bills is tonight. Some Republican priorities have yet to
be addressed.
Speaker 8 (40:05):
Leadership needed the Democrats to vote for the speaker, and
maybe this was part of the deal. But this is
completely intentional and it happens every single session.
Speaker 6 (40:16):
State Representative David Lowe there Republican House leaderships, he says,
needs to be held responsible. One of the bills that
could become a casualty in this the Texas Women's Privacy Act,
which would in theory, keep men out of women's bathrooms
and locker rooms.
Speaker 9 (40:33):
There's still a lot of government owned swimming pools and
fitness centers and so on where you've got men just
casually going into the women's locker room and forcing women
to you know, to be next to them, to undress
and be naked in front of them.
Speaker 6 (40:44):
That's Jonathan signs with Texas Values. This proposal is stuck
in committee. The House did manage to pass the elimination
of the Star test in public schools, though State Rep.
Brad Buckley says the once a year test would be
replaced with shorter tests at the start, middle, and end
of the school.
Speaker 10 (41:02):
Years, designed to provide data that can be used by

school district leaders to guide learning objectives throughout the year.
Speaker 6 (41:13):
However, analysts say the legislation faces an uphill battle in
the Senate. Closer to us Katie isd dead daddy Jan
Francisco is still fighting for policy change, almost two months
after his daughter was suspended for defending yourself against the
bully at Taylor High School.
Speaker 12 (41:30):
If you defend yourselves on a fight in kid, then
you also are going to get punished, even if you're
just defending yourself. And in Brooklyn's case, I mean, she
never threw a punch, and they need to change those policies.
Speaker 6 (41:44):
We reached out to Katie isd in a statement. They
told us federal laws prohibit them from talking, but they
don't condone the behaviors or actions involved.

maybe I shouldn't be but i've been amazed at how
much criticism the president is getting over This jumbo jet
(01:04:26):
from qatar that they want to gift the president, at
this flying. Palace if, you will, the left of course wants,
to approach, this like oh, yo this is, graft this
Is Corruption this is president trump. Taking a personal gift
it's they want they want, to even the right even
(01:04:47):
even the people that you would expect to be, more
supportive on. This are, going well you Know we always
criticize biden and his, family for you know for graft and.
Corruption and taking stuff we should set the proper example.
And not take this is this a personal gift or
is this A Gift? Of the united states just listen
(01:05:08):
to the left to hammer, home at this point and
what the folks at the.
Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
Five had to, say my ATTITUDE is why wouldn't? I
accept the gift because.
Speaker 4 (01:05:15):
He does not believe in rules. And laws and norms he.
Speaker 47 (01:05:18):
Thinks they're for suckers this flying Grift or, con air
force one, this is all about is getting a four
hundred Million Dollar aircraft for donald trump when.
Speaker 4 (01:05:29):
He leaves the presidency, this administration is.
Speaker 48 (01:05:31):
Corrupt full and through if you read, the left, leaning,
media they're like well he hasn't really Done any Deals,
with syria and ron and He called the new syrian
president a terrorist at gi. Hattis not long, AGO but
the plane i don't think the plane is that great
of an IDEA to accept because i think that If
(01:05:53):
we are Forcing democrats, and the biden family which was famous,
for decades of grift if we're, holding THEM to account
then i think it's a political mistake to be doing
something that could be construed.
Speaker 21 (01:06:06):
As, the same thing yeah you.
Speaker 4 (01:06:08):
Got to act. Better, than your predecessor.
Speaker 48 (01:06:10):
Yeah so you have to be able to employ, the
political golden rule which is if, it's wrong for them.
It's wrong for us and why distract from the phenomenal
wins that have happened over.
Speaker 3 (01:06:21):
The last, ten days, all right but again is It
a gift to trump or is it A Gift to The? United,
states of america sure the presidents of the One who.
Uses air force one but how do you view? This
offer from guitar is This a gift to trump or
is this A Gift? To the united states should he

see is the democrats giving some of the most ridiculous.
Speeches and asking some of the stupidest, questions because what
they're doing is called chubbing which slows down the process
(01:30:45):
as much as possible.
Speaker 49 (01:30:47):
So.
Speaker 8 (01:30:47):
That We, don't get to.
Speaker 4 (01:30:50):
Legislative, priorities yeah other ward it's a.
Speaker 3 (01:30:53):
Delay tactic and it's obviously been very effective, they've they've
been DOING that for years now and it Just i
continue to be shocked That the republicans have the majority
In the house and Yet we have enough rhinos left
in the, house that they're, making deals with the devil
so to speak in order to make sure.
Speaker 10 (01:31:12):
That.
Speaker 4 (01:31:12):
Some, Of these bills don't get through yeah absolutely so.
Speaker 8 (01:31:18):
Basically the leadership cut a deal at the very beginning
in order. To vote for a particular person For speaker
and actually most of the Freshmen Democrats got their. Bills
heard on the texas house floor first so he. Is
definitely bowing down to the minority party but the, problem
(01:31:43):
is we don't have a super, majority which is, one
hundred votes or more so you, know if we want
a constitutional.
Speaker 4 (01:31:51):
Amendment past.
Speaker 8 (01:31:53):
Sometimes they choose to appease the democrats Because they. Don't
want them to kill the constitution amendments. So there's, a
lot of wheel in dealing oh Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:32:03):
And, a lot of lobbyists in the. Texas house there's
no doubt about that too and they bring a lot of.
MONEY and they bring a lot of pressure i don't.
Know how you go about dealing with that you're either
you're either going to be consumed.
Speaker 4 (01:32:13):
To buy the.
Speaker 3 (01:32:13):
Lobbyist pressure or you're not hopefully you're not let me,
ask you this from a practical standpoint here the. Governor
got the signature piece that he wanted he didn't he,
hasn't gotten the bond reform that he wanted but he did.
Get the school choice measure that he wanted so, if
you hadn't done the school choice thing my guess is
(01:32:34):
the first thing he would. Do would be to call
a special session has there been Any Talk about a special?
Session for, the TEXAS house this time around you know.
Speaker 8 (01:32:42):
BECAUSE i had to get an apartment. WHEN i moved
out here for THIS session i started? Asking members recently
should i extend my lease. And they have said we
don't think so because the governor. Got The, number one
thing that he wanted to remember he called four, special
SESSIONS last time to get this piece so i THINK
(01:33:03):
he'll be satisfied with just, score, choice.
Speaker 3 (01:33:05):
I at least hope so okay well and that means,
nothing else, Is, probably going. To Get Done all right

katar is Giving to, president trump to use for air
force one and. He sees nothing wrong with accepting, the
(01:41:55):
gift there's. No strengths attached to it no favors Expected
it's gonna be used officially as Air force one. Until
at least, sometime that boeing actually delivers by the Way
That seems pretty magnanimous To me, that president, trump would
would help boeing's secure you know hundreds of millions of
dollars worth of Plane deals.
Speaker 4 (01:42:18):
When when.
Speaker 3 (01:42:19):
THEY haven't, delivered air force one on Time i mean
it's like it's not like boweing's got a, really great.
Speaker 4 (01:42:25):
Track RECORD going.
Speaker 3 (01:42:26):
On, right now you know what i mean Anyway my
question to the day was because i'm hearing, even, people
on the right starting, to say well, maybe he shouldn't
take it Because you know if, we're going, to criticize
democrats for you know grafting corruption then we have to make,
sure everything looks like it's up and up and we
shouldn't be, Taking These huge, extravagant gifts from you. Know middle,
eastern countries that kind of thing so far it's been
(01:42:48):
pretty unanimous from our listeners that they see no problem
With taking this. This Jet from cutter our Qatar burrend
me but i'll tell you what i'd. Like to get
some more of your opinions all you have TO. Do
is go to the iHeartRadio app katrh. PLEASE post number
one on, the preset button i get you there quickly.

you're calling From And whether or not you think that president.
Trump should, Continue. To accept this free Jet.
Speaker 49 (01:43:16):
Good morning jimmy this is mine. From cyprus regarding the
gift of the jet i'm, not sure what kind of
jet this is but wouldn't it be right to accept
it than to, DONATE it for the cause of let's
say isis or something else to fight crime or some
of their agency in the government that no.
Speaker 1 (01:43:37):
One can pretty.
Speaker 49 (01:43:38):
Much deny and Needs assistance JUST my Body.
Speaker 35 (01:43:42):
Paul from town ball and i think president trump Should,
accept the plane on behalf Of all America.
Speaker 4 (01:43:50):
Just LIKE we accepted the Statue.
Speaker 1 (01:43:52):
Of liberty, and i think instead of air, force one
we could call it liberty. Too because we've got one
statue of Liberty.
Speaker 7 (01:43:59):
This is.
Speaker 1 (01:43:59):
The, Next Great gift To, America liberty too.
Speaker 54 (01:44:03):
Hey jimmy shan from. Pasadena heavan jests we should take that.
Speaker 33 (01:44:06):
Jet would be.
Speaker 54 (01:44:07):
A good addition to our Fleet Of, jets it's a
gift To. The united states not a gift to trump.
I'm tired of all these whiny little children they did
to sit in the corner where.
Speaker 4 (01:44:18):
They belong and let the adults.
Speaker 51 (01:44:19):
Work, spring if something is given to the president. He
doesn't get to keep, it for himself it. Belongs to,
the presidency which is. The government and Yes he should
accept it why, not if japan offered, us a samurai
sword we. Would, accept it same, difference.
Speaker 3 (01:44:35):
A summary sword okay although ye know four or five
hundred million dollar jets. A LITTLE more valuable than a.
Samurai sword but i UNDERSTAND what you're saying there is
some question i think as far as what Happens To the?
Jet when IT'S done, as air force one will it
i mean How Long will it? Continue to be an
air force one jet There's been talk that it would
(01:44:57):
be that trump would take it, For his own personal
use after his presidency so maybe that maybe that needs
to be Questioned a little bit more about is that
Jack Going to be a gift, to the united states
and remain that way or after the remainder of his.
Presidency DOES have become a more personal gift. Maybe i
have to, work, THOSE details up traffic and, weather together.
Speaker 1 (01:45:18):
Dude i Want.

fights breakout all the time but when you have a
boy who's beating up on a girl and the girl
is just trying to defend herself and she ends, up
getting suspended the same way the boy did then that
is Not equal. Justice Under The law as far, As
i'm concerned. Danny jan francisco, is a father katie id,
(01:48:45):
Parent His Daughter. Attends or at least did attend, Taylor, High, school, she's, still, Going,
to school there danny yes sir okay y well we
want to get a little progress before we only have
a couple months. BECAUSE we're up against the end of
the show i know that the school system, Really AND
at any point really responded to you but i did,
Notice that a lot more parents are speaking out so at,
(01:49:07):
the very. Least you've got to feel, good that you know,
what has come of this at least so far is
that the parents realize that an injustice. Has, been done
and other parents are chiming in yes at.
Speaker 55 (01:49:18):
Least we're moving in the right direction with that but.
The school district still is not cooperating at all there's
been other girls. Come forward with harassment claims against the
same kid the same kid that beat up my daughter
had an assault, charge in junior high for beating up
a kid so he's got, he's got priors for being
(01:49:42):
a bully and harassment and it just seems like they're
doing everything they can to make it as, difficult AS
possible to get justice.
Speaker 4 (01:49:51):
For, my daughter and.
Speaker 55 (01:49:52):
I just don't understand why.
Speaker 4 (01:49:53):
Well maybe they're embarrassed maybe they're embarrassed. That they haven't.
Speaker 3 (01:49:56):
Done, ANYTHING about this kid before, They SHOULD be yeah
i agree they should be so i, guess the goal
here is what. The, goal is to try to change
school policy yes.
Speaker 55 (01:50:07):
My ultimate, goal IS to get charges pressed against this
kid because i can't even press charges against them BECAUSE of,
the way they did their investigation with kisd police and
we definitely need those policy changed for the FUTURE so no.
Speaker 4 (01:50:24):
Parents Have to go. Through, what i, went, through where i'm,
going through.
Speaker 3 (01:50:28):
Well it's difficult difficult as you say without any, cooperation
and the way the whole. Thing WAS investigates IT'S difficult
to bring criminal charges but i think i asked you
the last time whether or not there. Might, be a civil.
Lawsuit that you could bring yes yes. There is where
are you at in that, process.
Speaker 55 (01:50:45):
We're still in the beginning of, That Process but it's
starting to get some momentum. So i'm, pleased with's where
we're at.
Speaker 3 (01:50:54):
Right, there but now if you do a civil, lawsuit
the samething you do with civil lawsuit here? Who would
the who would, The the defendants be you would be,
the plaintiff your daughter would be the plainted obviously but
who would be involved? In the lawsuit you be suing
the male student?
Speaker 4 (01:51:10):
Would you be? Suing the school system or both.
Speaker 55 (01:51:14):
All of them i'm going after everybody that. That could,
have done, the right, thing and didn't all, RIGHT the,
parents the school, at. The SCHOOL board, I mean the
school district everybody i'm i mean i'm just fed up with.
NOT getting any cooperation whatsoever from all these people.
Speaker 3 (01:51:35):
I don't blame if you got, an attorney that's. Doing
this pro bona for you not, pro BONO so this? Is, gonna,
Cost some, money huh a little bit, yeah yeah well,
listen best of, luck, with it keep us posted thanks
very much. Yep and And let Us know how things
progress that is. Danny jan francisco who's getting ready for
(01:51:56):
civil trial, well it'll be a while before the civil trial.
But he's not going to let This THING drop he's not.
Going to allow kat i. Sd to ignore him y'all
have a great. DAY we'll see tomorrow morning bright nearly
