Elon Musk continues to go against the White House in
the Big Beautiful Bill. He posted a kill bill meme
telling Americans to literally kill the bill. Now, the White
House has downplayed Elon's criticism.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Others close to President Trump are.
Speaker 9 (02:41):
Not Elon is going about this completely wrong way here
because the other thing, too, is it comes across is
very personal. And look, this is a big, massive budget bill.
It's the Reconciliation Bill. President Trump did not call it
the big perfect bill. He called it big beautiful bill.
Speaker 7 (02:56):
Former Trump advisor Jason Miller on Newsmax. Meantime, there's a
big defection from the Democrat Party. Former White House Press
Secretary Karine Jean Pierre is now an independent Oh she's

Speaker 7 (04:24):
The bill sets aside four point two billion dollars for
teacher pay raises. Now, the good news is that state
lawmakers passed more property tax relief this session. That's the
good news, But the bad news.
Speaker 13 (04:37):
Is that local governments are already getting in gear to
raise taxes and erode either some or all of that
forthcoming tax cut.
Speaker 14 (04:48):
That's James Quintero, Senior policy director with the Texas Public
Policy Foundation.
Speaker 13 (04:54):
There's all sorts of local action that happens during the
interim that really reverses a lot of the good policy
that we see coming out of the legislature.
Speaker 14 (05:02):

Speaker 7 (05:11):
Austin to Houston City Hall where we had a riot
at city council that you.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
See.
Speaker 7 (05:20):
Yeah, the radical left is going after Mayor John Wickmeier,
not just over his proposed budget, but because he's not
left enough for them. City council did pass the seven
billion dollar package by a thirteen to three vote. Now,
the budget devotes sixty percent of the general fund to
public safety. There is a new study for RICE saying
that ninety percent of Eustonians want more spent on infrastructure.
(05:43):
Why well, money won't solve the crime problem.
Speaker 15 (05:47):
Voters have lost confidence that more spending is going to
be the solutions to problem. Most voters have identified the
problem as judges who refuse to hold criminals accountable.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
The tools you need to.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Take on the day news in the morning, weather and traffic.
Speaker 5 (07:12):
This is Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Arrett.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
Yeah, Betts Nomino was a big boy, two hundred pounds, though,
what do you see You must have been like really short, right,
like maybe five four or five five something like that,
because two hundred pounds, I mean I'm six two five
weigh two hundred pounds, I'd be skinny, at least for me,
i'd be skinny. So Twitter, It's it's not the pounds
(07:38):
in the height, which I've always said. It's not that
I'm overweight. I'm just I'm not tall enough. I just
need I need to get a few more inches of
height five o eight our time here in Houston's Mornings.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
Right.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
I bring all this up because scientists think they may
have discovered why after you lose weight, you put the
weight back on. And I'll try to simplify this because,
like everything, First of all, you should know the study
was done on mice in some humans, and they discovered
in both cases that your fat cells seem to remember
(08:13):
when you were overweight and attempt to return to what
they considered normal to be. So what that has to do,
by the way, with a return to your old eating habits.
I'm not sure where the tie in is there, but
it feels like if your body gets comfortable in a
certain state, even if that certain state is not particularly
(08:34):
good for you, that your fat cells will remember being
fat and attempt to go back to being fat again,
which may encourage other behaviors that ends up making you
put the weight right back on. At least that's that's
where scientists are going with this. Now they may be
more than just a fat cell memory. Maybe other cells
in your body have memories of what you used to
(08:56):
weigh and are attempting to get you back to what
you used to weigh again. I'm not sure, but it's
all part of trying to figure out, first of all,
why we get back to begin with, and then why
after losing weight it's so difficult to keep it off.
I mean, you hear all these stories of people who
even go on the weight loss drugs, right, and they lose,
you know, thirty forty fifty pounds, and then they go
off the weight loss drugs and they put the weight
(09:17):
back on again. That's the only issue I have with
the weight loss drugs. It's not a permanent solution. At
least it doesn't seem to be a permanent solution. But
here's my question for science. If your fat cells remember
you being fat and they try to go back to
your old days of being fat, why don't my fat
sales remember when I was skinny and try to get
(09:39):
me to go back to being skinny? Why is it
always worked to the negative? Five to ten? Time for
traffic and whather together, I can.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Talk about two hundred Because I'm five? Can I say
I'm five six? Can I call myself five six? Are
you not quite five six? I'd like THEA I identify
as five six?
Speaker 15 (09:53):
All right?
Speaker 5 (09:54):
What do you actually? Hey? No, no time out? What
do you actually? How do you identify?
Speaker 3 (09:59):
This is about reality Wale where Reelsville is same as
jose L two A Billy Joel and Charles Manson Wild
five fives yes, So I don't know random, So I wait.
When I weigh two hundred, I feel like you would
feel at like three forty. I mean two hundred is
like me, So I need to wait under one eighty.
(10:21):
If we toss your fat cells, evidently that's the problem.
Speaker 6 (10:23):
Hey, fat cells go away. So let's hit now. Fortunately,
we don't have a lot going on freeways. Now, that's
nice North Freeway we're looking at twenty two minutes from
the Woodlands down into downtown.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
That's a good shot there. Going up from Texas City.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Galveston on forty five the Golf Freeway sign, we look good.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
Of course you have the endless roadwork from Tiki to BUCkies.
I do like the way they.
Speaker 6 (10:46):
Open that one where's as Hughes or Holland that they
open the underpass that goes into the freeway. So that's
good to see. Keep me updated this morning. And I
just want to check. I like to check up see
if it's smunching around Port Road. We look good from
Texas City all the way up to Laport. Hey, when

Terry Bettis, she's then from our KTRH top tax Defenders
twenty four hour. Whether it's some at least identifies as
being thin. I was gonna saying that she's here with
the forecast for today. Okay, here comes to hot stuff.
Speaker 18 (11:27):
Yes, we're definitely turning up the heat around here, but
we're not completely done with the rain today. I think
we'll get a few showers or thunderstorms to develop this afternoon,
A thirty percent chance of getting went. A lot of
us are not going to see the rain, but everybody
is going to feel that heat and humidity, not just
today but into early next week. Load of mid nineties today, Tomorrow,
(11:49):
a twenty percent chance of an afternoon thundershower. Still in
the load of mid nineties tomorrow, and then starting Saturday, Sunday,
Monday as well, temperatures will range anywhere from the low
to upper nineties. I don't think we're going to see
any rain over the weekend, though you can't rule out
a straight shower. But on Monday we do have a
thirty percent chance of some rain, so a little bit
(12:11):
of rain, a whole lot of heat and humidity.
Speaker 4 (12:13):

All the info you need to take on the day,
all right, is it's.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
The plan that I think most people exiting government have
to try to make money when they leave is write
a book. Did you see who's written a book now?
And she named the book Independent. Now, by naming the
book independent, do not think for one minute that former
White House Press Secretary Krin Jean Pierre is leaving the
(12:51):
Democrat Party or is becoming independent in their political thought process. No, no, no, no,
that's just a title theme there to get your attention.
Speaker 5 (13:01):
Yo. She is, she is who she is?
Speaker 4 (13:05):
So Jesse Waters had some funded her expense describing the book,
so well, we'll try to share that with you. Coming
up next, first though, traffic and weather together as we
check out the drive again, here's sky Mike.
Speaker 6 (13:16):
All right, let's see here, I'm gonna go around the

Speaker 15 (13:39):

Speaker 4 (15:10):
I saw hard copy. I don't know if this thing
is going to make it the paperback or not. Grin
Jean Pierre has a book out By the way, Do
you think she wrote it?
Speaker 5 (15:19):
No?
Speaker 4 (15:19):
I doubt that. I wonder who her ghostwriter is. She
has a book out. Let's play that's called Independent. It's
got a lot more to the title as well. Here
is Corin Jean Pierre talking about her book, with response
from Jesse waters Hi.
Speaker 20 (15:35):
I'm Karine Jean Pierre, and i am the author of
a new book that's coming out this fall called Independent.
It's coming out on October twenty first.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
So please please do grab it.
Speaker 20 (15:45):
And the reason I wrote this book coming out of
the White House. You know, serving as White House pre
Secretary was an honor and a privilege. But since I
have left, the people that come up to me, strangers
that come up to me just across the country as
I'm traveling, and sometimes right in my neighborhood, at our
grocery store, supermarket, airport, my daughter's school. The number one
(16:08):
question they asked me is, kareem, how do we get
out of this? How do we protect our democracy? How
do we protect vulnerable communities among us?
Speaker 21 (16:16):
Binder shopping for sweet potatoes at the grocery store and
customers are asking her about vulnerable communities. How about Binder
who controlled the auto pen? Did you know he had cancer?
Did he really get lost in the closet? Binder spent
two years lying from a podium, and now she wants
to tell us the truth.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Look at the name of.
Speaker 21 (16:35):
The book, inside a Broken White House. Now she's telling
us the White House was broken.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
Wait a second, who else wrote a book about this? Yeah?
Speaker 21 (16:47):
Tapper Binders. Now DEI Tapper, I wonder who got paid more?
And there's nothing noble about this turncoat.
Speaker 5 (16:55):
Remember. Do you believe that.
Speaker 22 (16:57):
The president of is as sharp today as he was
when he took this job?
Speaker 5 (17:03):
Yeah, slowed down.
Speaker 20 (17:04):
What I can say is this is a president who
is strong and resolute in delivering for the American people.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
That's what I see.
Speaker 20 (17:11):
As he is the sharpest as ever as I have
known him to be in my engagement, in my experience
with him.
Speaker 21 (17:18):
Spinder invented the word cheap fake. She told you this
real video of Biden getting lost in an Italian field
was fake.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
Now she's saying, yeah, my.
Speaker 21 (17:28):
White House was broken, and I'm switching parties. Hopefully she
can write better than she talks, because DEI Tapper sounds
a lot like Mamola.
Speaker 5 (17:37):
I think we need.
Speaker 20 (17:38):
To stop thinking in boxes and think outside of our
boxes and.
Speaker 5 (17:43):
Not be stilled partisan.
Speaker 20 (17:45):
And the way that I see moving forward in this
space that we're in right now is if you are
willing to stand side by side with me, regardless of
your political how you identify politically, and as long as
you respect community that I belong to and vulnerable communities
that I respect, I will be there with you.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Sure you will. How many copies does that book sell?
Do you think company? How many people are interested in buying?
Cringe on Bierre's book. I'm not liking her chances of
having a bestseller. Five twenty six. It is time to
take a look at your money. Good morning to you,
Jeff Bellinger and Jimmy Good morning.
Speaker 23 (18:29):
The major stock averages were narrowly mixed at the end
of the midweek session. The Dial closed down two tenths percent,
the Nasdaq closed three tenths percent higher. The S and
P five hundred gained less than a tenth of a percent.
Tesla shares fell three and a half percent, and a
source tells Bloomberg that Tesla CEO Elon Musk is now
(18:49):
trying to kill President Trump's tax cut bill because the
measure would do away with the tax break for buying
any electric vehicle. I'm Jeff Bellinger, Bloomberg Business on New

News Radio seven forty k TRH. It's time for the news.
(20:29):
Here's clyss Saunders.
Speaker 5 (20:30):
Thank you, Jimmy.
Speaker 7 (20:31):
Good morning everyone, five thirty one on KTRHR.
Speaker 5 (20:34):
Top story.
Speaker 7 (20:35):
The Trump administration promised transparency in the death of convicted
child defender Jeffrey Epstein, and.
Speaker 25 (20:42):
The evidence we have in our files clearly indicates that
it was in fact the suicide.
Speaker 7 (20:48):
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino told KTRH is Sean Hannity.
There's video that backs this up. Epstein was found dead
in his prison cell six years ago. We're expecting the
US Supreme Court to hand down opinions later this morning. Among
the cases we're watching the fate of President Trump's order
in January to end birthright citizenship. However, that decision may
(21:10):
not come until the end of the month. Closer to home,
the Texas Supreme Court is now set to decide whether
or not judges have freedom of religion protection and can
refuse to perform same sex marriages.
Speaker 26 (21:22):
There's no reason why judges, particularly those that feel like
it's a violation of their conscience, that they individually should
be forced to do it when there are plenty of
other options, and so I think this is an easy
case for the Texas Supreme Court to sort out.
Speaker 7 (21:35):
Jonathan Siins with Texas Value says this will settle the
issue once in for all. Austin lawmakers passed the bill
to keep us on daylight saving time all year long,
but we might still be changing the clock twice a
year even if the governor signs the bill.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
Texas is planned.
Speaker 27 (21:51):
To stay on daylight saving time requires permission from Congress,
and there's plenty of opposition. JP with the group called
Save Standard Time, says people are sleeping less on daylight
saving time.
Speaker 28 (22:02):
It leads to an average loss of sleep every single
night of nineteen minutes.
Speaker 27 (22:07):
There was a pilot program back in the nineteen seventies
to keep the whole nation on daylight saving time. He
says it was cut short when parents complained about their
children walking to school in the dark. Reck So it's
news Radio seven forty KTR eight.
Speaker 7 (22:19):
By the way, just so that you know, Hawaii and
Arizona are the only two states that do not observe
daylight saving time. It's now five point thirty three. President
Trump spoke with Russia's Vladimir Putin yesterday. Says it was
a good call, but don't expect to peace anytime soon.
Speaker 29 (22:36):
It is perhaps the least optimistic I've heard him regarding
the nature of what was possible in a phone call
and the peace or ceasefire with Ukraine. But this is
part of obviously negotiations.
Speaker 7 (22:49):
Jammie Bruce with the State Department on Fox. The President
says Putin told him Russia would respond to a recent
Ukrainian attack on Russian war planes elsewhere. A Chinese embassy
of official says he was unaware of the case involving
two Chinese nationals charged with smuggling a biological weapon a pathogen,
(23:09):
into the US for university research. Meantime, President Trump will
speak with China's Jijen Ping about stalled trade negotiations before
the end of the week.
Speaker 30 (23:18):
Both countries claim the other is violating the current trade truce,
and another layer of complexity to talks has been added.
Tariffs on steel and aluminum imports into the US will
double from twenty five percent to fifty percent. The President
signed the executive order after promising in Pittsburgh on Friday
that the action will reduce dependency on China.
Speaker 7 (23:38):
Alexandria A. Hoff reporting there it's now five point thirty four.
Democrats are stuck in two thousand and eight as President
Trump dominates the pop culture wars. Florida congressional candidate Raven
Harrison says Democrats lost because they've got no face, message,
or direction.
Speaker 31 (23:53):
They are the party of perpetually calling everybody they don't
agree with a racist. They are the party of you
agree with does, or we will cancel you, and people
are overwhelmingly rejecting this premise.
Speaker 7 (24:06):
She says, though, that Republicans need to unite behind the
President's agenda for this shift to continue. This year's accidents
and airport delays have exposed massive problems with our country's
air traffic control system. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy told ktrh
is Clay Travis and Buck Sexton blame Joe Biden.
Speaker 32 (24:26):
We are using the footment that is twenty five thirty
five years old, so I'm going to need a lot
of money from Congress. It should have been done decade ago,
it wasn't, and we have to basically gut and build
brand new our air traffic control system.
Speaker 7 (24:40):
Meantime, we told you this week that new polling has
former Transportation Secretary Pete Buddha Judge as a top Democrat
contender for twenty twenty eight. Gasoline prices are about forty
cents cheaper than they were a year ago at this time,
to sixty eight a gallon across Houston, seven cents below
the state wide average.
Speaker 5 (25:00):
So what's driving this?
Speaker 33 (25:02):
Patrick Johan and Gasbuddy says, OPEK has cranked up its
production of oil. That's keeping prices down and so has
reduced demand from Americans nervous about tariffs and jobs.
Speaker 34 (25:11):
Pretty decent summer promoters that are a little bit more
concionate about the direction of the economy. Not a bad
time amidst a little bit of economic uncertainty.
Speaker 33 (25:20):
To Hans says, a serious shot at peace in Ukraine
could bring gas prices even lower. Charles Mollino, who's Radio

Charles Backers of high Speed Rail in Texas claimed the
tide is turning. Peter Lacodie with the Texas Rail Advocates
points out to a build this session that called for
a study of a proposal connecting Dallas not to Houston,
but to San Antonio.
Speaker 35 (25:43):
Actually got through House Transportation. It was favorable from both
Republicans and Democrats.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
He says, it's proof there are more viable projects than
the one connecting Houston to Dallas. Though we've heard about
this for well over a decade with nothing ever done.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
To my thirty eight here in Houston, sporing news. I
wasn't lucky to be made in Texas. I just live
here and with any luckible die here.
Speaker 5 (26:36):
But made here.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
No, no, nope, not made here. But I'll tell you what,
As you take a look at places to raise a child,
you'd have to look long and far to find a
better place than Texas. Recent lending Tree study found by
the Way that on average, had cost US parents two
hundred and ninety seven six hundred and seventy four bucks
to raise a child over eighteen years, and they spend
(26:58):
an average of twenty two points six six percent on
their income on child rearing each year. The constant rising
cost of childcare during the workday is the largest expense
related to having a child. Maybe one of the reasons
why we're able to keep it a little bit lower
here is that I think we maybe have a higher percentage.
I can't prove it at the moment, but I think
we might have a higher percentage of stay at home
(27:21):
moms in particular, who have decided that they're going to
stay home, maybe homeschool their child, but they're going to
raise their child. You know, it's too expensive for daycare
compared to what they can make in the workplace, and
that's a smart decision to make if you can make it.
Business Insider did a study and they ranked all fifty states.
(27:44):
Number one state being Hawaii is the most expensive. And
then you go down from there, where would you think
Texas would rank as far as being an inexpensive state
to raise your child? If one is the most expensive,
where do you think Texas is? Thirty five? Forty forty
one would be the right answer. Angual cost of raising
(28:04):
a child in Texas twenty eight hundred and eighty nine dollars,
annual daycare cost eleven, twenty four dollars. Food cost one thousand,
seven hundred and eleven. Texas parents spend some of the
lowest added food cost in the nation, in fact, the
second lowest amongst all the states. They also spend the
sixth lowest portion of their incomes on raising a child,
(28:26):
at only seventeen percent compared to the national average, which
is closer to twenty two percent, which is why we
rank as the one of the more inexpensive states in
order to be able to raise a child. As I said,
Hawaii was number one. Only places cheaper than US Alabama
forty ninth. They went through these alphabetically, so it's hard
(28:49):
to get the rankings in here. California obviously in the
top five as far as being most expensive, but forty
one for Texas pretty good. Five forty time for traffic
and weather together, Sky Mike's.

Are you going to do it? How are you going
to do it? If you need more money for research

Speaker 5 (34:47):
Guess first of, ALL i have.
Speaker 36 (34:48):
To say We footy, agree totally agree with his president
On trump when he says there has to be a
read balancing of the cost of FUNDING i AND d
and pharmaceutical innovation around the. World resident has introduced this
world of, equalization which Means europe has to be a
bit more so The United states can pay a little bit.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
Less and we totally agree with.
Speaker 36 (35:09):
This and of course the question is how do you
get this done without affecting the leadership THE us has
IN r AND, d in biosiensors and bio pharmaceutic. CODs
so we are in discussion WITH cms at, present we
and other pharmaceutical companies to look at ways to make
this happen without affecting the leadership of THE us in
(35:31):
that fundamental area of research where THE us has gained
leadership Over europe over the last thirty, years and we
need to retaind this.
Speaker 29 (35:39):
Leadership why are we the ones shouldering the higher Cost
we should be getting the discounts since we put up
the upfront. Money we meaning pharmaceutical companies based.
Speaker 5 (35:48):
Here.
Speaker 36 (35:49):
Yeah, ABSOLUTELY i, mean first of, all you absolutely rightly
is we are based in THE, uk but we are
very much A us.
Speaker 5 (35:55):
Company we.
Speaker 36 (35:58):
Have our biggest part of a manufacturer networks in THE.
Us we manufacture our products in THE us FOR us.
Patients we invest five billion dollars a year IN r AND.
D we have close to twenty zerousand employees in THE,
us two very large are in the. Center so we're
very much A us. Company fifty percent of ourselves will
come out of THE us market by twenty and. Thirty
(36:20):
so again the question is really how do you make this?
Happen because you're absolutely right the rich, countries and of
course some countries in the world cannot afford the same,
prices but rich, countries in particular In europe need to
pay slightly higher prices and invest more IN r AND
d and in funding products new innovative products out of
(36:42):
their healthcare. Budget it's similar to the defense sector defense.
ISSUE us investor about the ozer point eight percent OF
gdp in pharmaceutic called innovative products eropezer opoint three is
zero point four, Percent so they need to increase their
investment in part secret, innovation just like just like for,
(37:03):
defense exactly the.
Speaker 5 (37:04):
Same, Okay so CAN i come to the jail if?
Speaker 4 (37:08):
Yes we understand The americans need to pay less and
the other people to The europeans need to pay.
Speaker 5 (37:13):
More we just don't know how to help to do.
That we you, know we want to still be us
your leader, Here so what do we?
Speaker 4 (37:18):
Do doesn't sound me like he's got an answer at this.
Point right by the, way if you're wondering what astrosthic it,
makes they make a lot of you, know products for,
cancers treatments for lung cancer for, example, tumors genetic, mutations heart,
disease diabetes. Drugs they make a lot of stuff that you,
(37:39):
know a lot of medications that people are, taking and
we are paying more for those medications than other countries
pay and not once in THERE i heard about how, oh,
yes we're making all these things in The United, states
and in The United states is the leader of research and.
Development then we need to keep it that. Way, okay
but what about lowering the? Costs what are you going

at least to. Your tax dollars six twenty three is
our Time here in. Houston's, warning news yeah they have
ten billion dollars worth of, property tax relief And We've
Got senator betton cord very. Excited about it you've got
the governor. Excited about it but from, a practical standpoint
we're not things Done At The texas state legislature to
keep the government Of Places like harris county from clawing
(52:45):
that money back through loopholes. And Other means JAMES quintero
joins us policy Director At The Texas. Public policy foundation
It's Hard in harris county to, Get, too excited james
because we remember what happened after the last property Tax
Relief when harris county basically use that loophole after having,
the hurricane loophole to call virtually all of.
Speaker 13 (53:05):
That, money back, well you're right local governments behaving badly
has become something of. A NORMAL occurrence but i got
GOOD news and i, Got. Bad news jimmy the good
news is that the legislature cut your taxes by about
ten billion dollars over the. Next two years so for,
the average homeowner what they're going to experience is about
(53:26):
a four hundred and fifty dollars tax decrease beginning, later
this year assuming voters ratify those two or three constitutional
amendments coming up, For a vote so folks should see
some relief. Later this year the bad news is that
local governments are already gunning to either erode some or
(53:47):
all of that release, through rate, hikes bond elections and.
Really just overspending and so what voters need to be
aware of is now is the time to engage their
local elected officials and start pressing on these folks to
adopt the no new, revenue tax rate which, is a
(54:08):
mouthful but really what it means is we need folks
to call a. Taxpayer time out we, need we need
we need local elected officials to, stop raising taxes give
everybody a chance to catch their breath and contend with
the affordability crisis. That's, going on well.
Speaker 4 (54:24):
These governments cannot raise your tax rate. Without, voter approval correct.
Speaker 13 (54:29):
Well kind of so they can raise your property taxes,
to an extent and then if they want to go,
above that level they have to get voter APPROVAL and
now mo when these things come up, for a vote
most people aren't well versed on the legal leads that's,
put before THEM and so i think a lot of
(54:50):
voters go in there not knowing what exactly. They're voting
on whether it's a tax ratificational election or. A bond
election just know if a government is putting, something before
you it's probably going to. Raise.
Speaker 4 (55:02):
Your taxes yeah well in the, bond thing, too you
know they've done a very. Very good job government has
done a very good job of convincing parents in particular,
in the past especially, in school bonds that they have
to do this, that you know, schools are overcrowded we
have to provide your kids with. A better education that's
going to. Require more money we need to have you.
Pass these bonds but we have noticed more pushback in
(55:23):
the last FEW years than i think we've ever noticed before. In,
THAT category.
Speaker 13 (55:28):
YEAH i think i think some voters are a bit
more sensitive these days. To tax increases but there's still
a long. Way to go and if there's anything to
criticize the legislature, about this session it's the absence of.
Meaningful TAX reform what i mean is they didn't do
what they needed to do to put the controls in
(55:49):
place so that local governments don't eat away at all of.
This tax relief we saw quite a few bills relating
to spending limits and debt limits and strengthening the property.
TAX revenue limit a lot of. Those fell Short Now in,
harris county's case one of the good things that did
come to fruition is we eliminated the. Disaster tax loophole
(56:14):
so no Longer Will will lena hidalgo and her crew
be able to abuse that particular item and get a
massive tax increase without going. To the voters but there's
still a long long way to go on tax reform
and reining in.
Speaker 4 (56:29):
This, local Abuse yeah and i'm sure they're cooking up
some schemes. As, We speak, james thank you appreciated policy

Rules about soup seven to elight is our Time here in.
Houston's boring news. Here's the, story campbell's says soup, sales
are soaring and that's ACTUALLY assigned the us economies, in
a downturn soup sales go up evidently when the economy.
IS doing poorly i DON'T know if i don't think
it means the economy, is DOING poorly campbells i think
it means that people are cutting back, on eating out
(01:25:07):
they're cooking. More at home it's not because the. Economy
is bad it's just that food inflation has, gotten so
high restaurant prices have, gotten so high so they're eating
home more often than. They were before and soup is
a relatively cheap meal if you. Consider it dinner i've
never really. Considered soup, dinner to me soup, is either
(01:25:28):
lunch preferably, with a sandwich or it is an appetizer
soup or salad before you have.
Speaker 5 (01:25:37):
Your main meal.
Speaker 4 (01:25:39):
As far as what, kind of soup what kind of soup,
do you like there's only there's really only three different.
Speaker 5 (01:25:45):
KINDS of soup i really care that.
Speaker 4 (01:25:46):
BUNCH about It i love, french onion soup but that's
really more about the cheese and and the and the
rest of it that and than it is about the soup.
Speaker 5 (01:25:55):
Part of, it you know it's it's, it's to.
Speaker 4 (01:25:59):
Me it's delicious but as far As like a campbell
soup kind, of A thing because i don't, know ABOUT
you but i Grew up on campbell soup because that's
what my mom thought, the best was because she believed.
All the ADVERTISING not that i think it's necessarily, the
best soup but but there's ONLY two flavors. I really,
liked i mean everybody likes, chicken, noodle soup right especially
if you're. Not feeling well it's a go to thing.
If you're sick but, the only other the ONLY two
(01:26:21):
flavors i really REALLY like and i still like to
this day are bean with bacon.
Speaker 5 (01:26:27):
And split.
Speaker 4 (01:26:28):
Pea WITH ham, and i found at Least here in
texas is really hard To find the campbell split. Pea
with ham i'm not sure. Why that, IS you know
i go, to the store it's. Never in stock it
DOESN'T matter if I go TO kroger or GB or.
Where i go split? Pea with ham why is that so?
Hard to find not that they eating? Soup right, now
(01:26:50):
you know. World number one if it's ninety it's gonna.
Be ninety degrees i'm. Not eating soup i'm not eating.
Something like soup that's too. Hot for soup and again
you already heard my rules about it's lunch. Were an
appetizer it's. Not a meal, seven to ten time for
traffic and weather together. And country, vegetable, really.

Ktrh seven two our Time here On. Houston's morning, News
all right So does, a texas, judges let's say judge have,
freedom of religion the ability to refuse a gay couple
when they want to be married by you because it's. Against,
your Religion Well This supreme court texas is taking that
(01:32:01):
on here to give. Us His, Opinion jonathan Sciens President.
Of texas values what, Do, You, think jonathan. Well good
morning this is an.
Speaker 39 (01:32:09):
OPEN and, shutcase, i mean look this has been debated in.
The legislature before, as You know the texas legislature just
wrapped up Their, business on monday the twenty twenty five.
State LEGISLATIVE session and i was in the Courtroom At
the texasupreme court when this, case was argued and it
was more of a preliminary matter. At that time but
there's no question that our religious freedom laws make it
(01:32:32):
clear that you cannot be forced to violate your conscience
because someone wants to have the same sex ceremony, or
wedding ceremony and you can't be forced have To perform
these why because there are people all over the state
that are willing to. Perform this ceremony there's no reason
that you have to force some individual judge to perform
(01:32:54):
your own same sex. Ceremony or wedding but that's what
some people. Want to do they are not satisfied with
the freedom for them to be able. To do that
they want to force specific judges. To do that and
why because that's how some people. See this issue they
see it. As a weapon they want to make you
(01:33:15):
be involved in something that is really about their life.
And not ours and you don't give, up the right
the religious freedom right just because you work in a role.
Like a judge we treat county clerks. The same way
we have a state law that's very clear county clerks
cannot be forced to sign marriage certificates or applications someone
else in the office or somebody else in the county can.
(01:33:38):
Provide that service you can't force one individual.
Speaker 5 (01:33:41):
To do that.
Speaker 4 (01:33:42):
It's, not constitutional well and it's more about a political statement.
For these people it's not about wanting a particular judge
to marry them because they want their judge. To marry
them it's because they know that judge doesn't want to have,
to do it and they want to force them.
Speaker 5 (01:33:55):
To do, IT that's, right i mean that's.
Speaker 39 (01:33:57):
What's going on, And so look i've worked, on religious
cases this religious freedom case. For twenty, years you know
every religious freedom law that's been passed in the, Past
twenty years i've been a, part of helping including You
Know this ten commandments law that's going in place for
our Public schools in texas that's gonna Be Signed by governor.
Abbott very soon but also the law that made it
clear that you can't force county clerks to be involved
(01:34:17):
in the. Marriage certificate process this. Is no different, and
you know we Got An All Republican. TEXAS supreme court
i think this is going to be very. Easy FOR
them but i do think it's important for us to,
get this precedent this, decision in, place because look you
see there's two judges that are, dealing with this and
to me, it looks, like you know they're chasing her
(01:34:38):
around one, Of The judges judge. Hensley and others they
keep trying, to find, ways you know to try to make.
Her life difficult and you know the Judicial Conduct the
commissioner juhr conduct, back to way they dropped the warning
and sort of reprimand against her when she started. Winning
(01:34:58):
some phases we're gonna into this court case again as
it moves. Through THE process but i do think, it's
VERY important and i do think this is something that
maybe people on the right and left could agree, on, and,
say yeah look you shouldn't have to force. Some individual
judge there are other people to do it that. Should
BE satisfactory but i invite people to go TO our
(01:35:18):
website tx values dot org so you can get updated
on some of the newest religious freedom laws that have
passed this year.
Speaker 4 (01:35:25):
And years before there's a point of interest on this
one real quickly. If you would john thinks. We're out
tight here is. Her official Title She's But glenning county
Justice of the Peace. Is in texas is there a
Difference between a Justice of the peace?
Speaker 5 (01:35:35):
And, a judge.
Speaker 13 (01:35:38):
No it's just the.
Speaker 39 (01:35:39):
LEVEL of, judge i mean, that's you know and so justice.
Of the peace sometimes they'll do a lot of variety
of different things where the judge is sort of what we,
think of well sometimes being a specialized role in a
court like family court or civil court, or criminal court
just as the piece is usually just smaller, matters like
this maybe being involved in marriage ceremonies and things. Of
(01:36:00):
that nature but they're still Accountable to The Code, of
judicial CONDUCT just like i am. As a lawyer that's something,
THAT you know i have to. Follow as well and
you know they want people to not be judges just
because they don't want to perform a.
Speaker 5 (01:36:14):
Same sex marriage. That's not Sexes.
Speaker 13 (01:36:16):

We're questioning all the ones that were made in. The

the last. One hundred days i've, said this before there
was more activity Out Of the white house during the
last one hundred days than at any point in the

spending the majority of His. Time in delaware he wasn't
Even In. The white house we know who Was In
the white house. At the time that were staffers and
family members that spent a lot of Time In the
(01:46:43):
white house. At that time that's when all of the
executive orders were signing. Using the autopen so we want to.
Know the process we've identified, first of all the staffers
that actually were tasked with putting the documents in the
autopen and pressing. The power button we want to know
who gave them the authority.
Speaker 5 (01:46:59):
To do that, believe we know but we're going to.
Follow the trail, and THEN.
Speaker 46 (01:47:02):
Again bry i can't say how fast we're moving with
the new information that's coming in, the New whistleblowers, the
tapper book as well as people that have agreed to
come in and voluntarily.
Speaker 4 (01:47:14):
Answer, our, questions, YEAH yeah yeah i don't mean, to
Sound skeptical. But i'm skeptical does anything? Come of it
does anybody get punished if it turns out they Can
Show that joe biden was not the operator. Of the autopen.

will restrict carbon that will, restrict firearm sales restrict, you

the biden administration essentially was putting these banks into a
