Here's Eric Shark, Good morning, five oh one on news
Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Our top story this hour.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
This week marks the one year since the gunman nearly
assassinated President Donald Trump at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
An exclusive interview on Fox News, the President says he
feels that investigation into the shooting was done right.

Speaker 6 (01:54):
They brief me, and I'm satisfied with it. I'm satisfied
with it. They should add somebody in the building. That
was a mistake. They should have had communications with the
local police. They weren't tied in, and they should have
been tied in. So there were mistakes made.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
The gunman, Twenty year old Thomas Crooks, fired shots from
a nearby rooftop, hitting the president in the ear, wounding
a few audience members, and killing a local volunteer firefighter.
Crooks was shot and killed by a Secret Service sniper
soon after. Volunteer search efforts are on hold in Kerr
County as flash flooding from heavy rains forced officials to
suspend operations. Highway thirty nine now closed to all but

(02:32):
emergency crews and local residents there. Sheriff Leery Latha says
that even these self deployed volunteers should stand down. It's
all of their own safety. Over a week later, there
are still well over one hundred people missing as a
result of those massive independence stay flooding.

Speaker 7 (02:50):
Unfortunately, recovering all the victims will likely continue to be
a slow process.

Speaker 8 (02:54):
One of the problems with finding people is that getting
to the areas where we see ain't go out of
missing persons might be is very difficult.

Speaker 7 (03:03):
Brian Tracer with the Cajun Navy has been on the
ground in the hill country and says debris makes things
even harder.

Speaker 8 (03:08):
It could be a debris stack thirty or forty feet high,
a lot of times when someone drowns, they'll get caught
up in this debris and they'll end up wherever the
debris pilot.

Speaker 7 (03:16):
He warned that this process will continue to take time,
and sadly, some may never be recovered. Ethan Buchanan News
Radio seven forty KRH.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
Trump'sporters are Tom Holman let up the stage at Turning
Point USA's Student Action summit on Saturday night after a
heckler asked if he was an MS thirteen member.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
I got a question for you.

Speaker 9 (03:35):
Why don't you come up here and hand me that

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Maria usaysay they exchange only fueled hope. In this fiery speech,
he wound to lead the biggest deportation operation that this
country has ever seen. I meanwhile, ice agent said Hoiston

aliens in June, including thirty two child predators, nine killers

(04:02):
in sixteen known gang or cartel members. Operation being held
as a win for law and order and a clear
example of why strong borders matter. Officials say that the
arrest show what's possible and immigration laws are actually enforced.
Violent seis rhetoric from Democrats has resulted in two attacks
on federal agents in Texas and it's not stopping. Carlton Allen,

(04:25):
the Madison Center for Law and Liberty says that they
have to realize that the agents and regular people are
just regular people doing their job, but it could be
too late.

Speaker 10 (04:34):
They've been hunted, vilified, and left out to drive, particularly
by the prior Biden administration and by efforts in Congress
now to unmask and that people can be dogs. And
if we can't defend sworn law enforcement agents, why.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Are we defending? He says.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
They've become so extreme it'll be hard to rein it
in one of the world's biggest financial heavy hitters, and
a leading Democrats is warning that the left is going
too far with leftist candidates at Zoran Mundami from the
front runner for the New York mayor GP Morgan Chase
CEO Jamie Diamond is surging voters to not support him.

Speaker 11 (05:12):
Diamond is calling Mamdami more of a Marxist than a socialist.

Speaker 12 (05:15):
Diamond and several more moderate Democrats, I think he's sunning
an alarm on a recipe for disaster.

Speaker 11 (05:20):
Political analyst Anthony Russo Diamond says Mamdami is pushing ideological
mush as he advocates for seizing people's apartments, government grocery stores,
and taxing white neighborhoods. More Meanwhile, JP morgan Chase itself
is also stepping back from DEI.

Speaker 12 (05:35):
The fact that JP Morgan's actually be like, we're going
to break from this because there is errors happening because
of DEI.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
It's another big awakening.

Speaker 11 (05:42):
Russo says Republicans, but more so, Democrats are trying to
separate from increasing the loud extremists in their parties. Charles Molino,
News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
Nearly released Pulling in Texas suggests that Dallas area Congresswoman
Jasmin Crockett would be the Democrats' best option in the
ranks to unseen stor John Cornyn. Skeptics like Rice University
professor Mark Jones, says her style is a turn off
to many voters.

Speaker 13 (06:07):
But it's sufficiently extreme that she would have no hope
whatsoever of winning a US Senate race in Texas, regardless
of which Republicans she paired off against.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
Crockett has so far not announced her run for Senate.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
So what is it about Mondays that we hate so much?
So much that even when we're no longer working, we
still hate Mondays? Does that make any sense? Is it
like every day when you're I don't know, because I'm
not retired and I have no immediate plans to retire.
So here's my question. When you do retire, do you

(07:27):
even know what day it is? My wife has taken
a work as sabbatical and she's not working right now.
She has no idea, but today is I guarantee you.
The only reason why she might know today is Monday
is because you'll wake up this morning and I'm not there.
But that would be the only reason otherwise she has
no idea what day of the week it is. Isn't

(07:49):
every day like Saturday when you're retired, I don't know.
It's it's strange when you're on vacation for it. And
let's let's say you go on a two week vacation.
By the second week, do you know what day it is?
I mean, wright off the top of your head, or
do you have to kind of look because every day

(08:10):
to me, I would think would feel the same. So
why if you are no longer working, why would Mondays
be just as stressful now is when you were working.
That's what this study says. That's how much mondays suck.
We keep we keep getting messed with even when we're
no longer working. Researchers tested people's hair to see how

(08:31):
much of the stress hormone cortisol they've been producing. The
people who said Monday's the most stressful day of the
week had twenty three percent more cortisol coursing through their veins. Now,
cortisol can up your risk of heart disease, weight gain,
these other health issues that come from it as well.
And the crazy part was it was even true for

(08:52):
people who had already retired. They still had a higher
cortisol level even though they were working anymore. So what
is it about Mondays that is so stressful? Just the
resumption of work, even if you love your job, Just
the resumption of work or getting back into the drive.
I'm just curious if you hate Mondays, just respond to

(09:15):
the Let listen. Why do you hate Mondays? And how
how do Mondays stretch you out more than any other
day of the week. You go to the iHeartRadio app
KTRH make as number one hundred preset, please hit the
talkback button. You get the thirty seconds. First name, Where
are you calling from? What about Mondays do you find
so stressful? And or do you find Monday just like

(09:36):
any other day of the week to you? That's how
we'll work that five to ten time for traffic and
whether together we've already found out. This guy Mike Lex Monday,
Love Monday. I love getting back to work.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
I love checking the maps, I love looking at the cameras,
I love all the pretty ladies on TV text me, well, Scott, Mike,
what's going on South Sam at Belford, because you know,
if they want me to look this stuff up. The
super helpful friendly told Way people. They're highly educated too.
That's westbound South sam Att and Belfort and we got
a right lane Blockchiers.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
I know you want me to move the camera.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
Hang on, I'll get to that, but right now I
don't see a big backup from this so far. That's
even a little tougher. It could make things sticky. If
you're coming over from ninety just watch out for other
stations listeners. Also West Sam at Clay Road, this is
an accident with an entrapment that's on the feeder. It's
not on the mainlanes. You can't even see it on
the mainlanes. One effect, you do not get down on

(10:26):
that feeder. That's northbound and southbound. We're good to go,
Jersey Village down to most City. We're looking good here
on the north Freeway. There's a phantom closure showing on
some of your onlines between cross Timbers and Downtown. It's

Speaker 15 (11:02):
I don't hate Mondays, I rather they didn't exist.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Do you find them more stressful than any other day
of the week.

Speaker 16 (11:13):
No, Usually the end of the week is like what
I'm dragging.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Okay, I'm just curious here. The study is confounding me
so far.

Speaker 15 (11:21):
Did the studies say that Mondays are hard for folks?

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Yes, even after they retire. Oh, interesting, they're still stressed
out by Monday, Jimmy, Let's try that. Let's retire and
find out the stressful day of the week. I think
every day would be like Saturday if you're not working.

Speaker 16 (11:38):
I think so.

Speaker 15 (11:39):
Well, at some point I hope to find that out,
but not anytime soon.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
Good.

Speaker 15 (11:45):
All right, Well, right now, I've got my eyes on
a couple of things. One our weather, obviously, which is
fairly quiet at the moment, but I don't expect that
to continue. I think we'll get those thunderstorms to fire
up again later today. I'm also watching some of that
heavy rain that's still falling in parts of Texas and
causing some flooding concerns up around the Waco area and

(12:09):
also the Hill Country. And then we're also watching what's
going on in the tropics, Like right now, nothing's really happening,
but there's a low pressure system off the coast of
Florida that's headed into the Gulf, and there is a
slight risk of something getting better organized. So we're going
to be watching that and see what happens. But for

(12:31):
us today, it's a fifty percent chance of those thunderstorms
developing later on this afternoon and tomorrow with thirty percent
chants of thunderstorms. Now, our temperatures are in the low
to mid eighties today and tomorrow and Wednesday and Thursday.
Right now, Wednesday and Thursday dry and then increasing chances
of rain by the end of the week Friday. Fifty
percent chance of those thunderstorms developing all right.

Speaker 2 (12:54):

Morning News team all the info you need to take
on the day.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
So Ever, since the flood, they've been trying to come
up with a plan. What should we do differently? They've
talked about making upgrades to Noah is if the weather
forecasting I'm thinking this particular case, the weather forecasting I
don't think could have been a whole lot better. You know,
we have a hard numb time figuring it out with

(13:32):
the weather's going to be tomorrow or the day after tomorrow,
or even ten days down the road. I mean, how
often is the ten day forecast correct? How many different
things can you do to try to anticipate a flood.
Maybe a better idea is what this woman in San
Antonio is suggesting, and she's certainly not the first to
suggest it. She just just put together petition which so
far about forty thousand people have signed regarding sirens on

(13:55):
the river. We'll have more than that story coming up. First,
we've got traffic and weather Together's we check in again,

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Yeah, the recover effort's been slowed because the concerned about
more potential flooding. It's going to be like that until
we get a dry spell for a while. And the
way the weather spend. I don't know if we're going
to get a dry spell for a while. It seems
like we have a storm every day, at least we
have in my house. What about yours? Anyway, Ways that
we could improve upon what happened in Kerrville seems like

(16:21):
there's a few things that come to mind. I think
one of the suggestions that was made fairly early on,
or at least one of the topics that came up
fairly early on, with sirens, And it's not a new
proposal back it was proposed within the last couple of
years to put sirens on the Quadlipe. But whatever reason,

(16:42):
money I guess probably being the main one, they just
didn't do it. It didn't end up going through. So
there's an opportunity. Perhaps they got lost now that you
have a major tragedy. Unfortunately, it's like getting a traffic
light at a dangerous intersection, right. You don't get it
until you have so many accidents that people are up
in arms over it. Then you get through traffic light.

(17:02):
Same thing here. You know, you got the perfect storm
where you've got all this rain and a flood warning
that happens in the middle of the night in an
area with the sketchy cell phone service. People just didn't
know about it in many cases, and therefore they didn't
find out until the river was flooding that the river
was flooding. Here is a San Antonio resident, her name

(17:25):
is Nicole Wilson. She has started up a petition about
forty thousand signatures so far to put sirens on the Guadaloufe.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
It is is.

Speaker 20 (17:33):
Definitely much more than I expected, and it just shows
the support and the love and how devastating this event
has been for not just people in Kerrville, the people
in San Antonio, all across Texas, across the nation, even
across the world.

Speaker 21 (17:49):
Kirk County does not have emergency alert sirens. Of course,
that became very apparent after what we saw play out
last week. There were a range of alerts that went out,
including code red alerts, tax messages to subscribers' phones. How
do you think the sirens you're calling for will make
a difference for residents?

Speaker 16 (18:06):
If Heaven forbid this happens.

Speaker 20 (18:07):
Again for sure, So sirens, although they're not the one
stop solution. We have to have a multi prompt solution
where everybody, no matter what kind of technology, to have
available to them has some sort of warning system. So
the key with sirens systems is that they are not
run on the cellular network or the Internet, and so

(18:30):
if either of those go down, the serences still work
and they work off of floogage monitor and as the
water rises to a certain level, then the sirens would
go off. The key with the sirens is that these
campers in like Camp Mystic and Camp Flea Hunta, don't

(18:51):
have technology in their cabin. They do have your windows
open and they do have fans in their windows, and
so the sirens would be her during that timeframe. Now,
you have to have enough of the sirens within a
range in order for them to be effective. I think
it has to be between one hundred and twenty and
one hundred and fifty decibels that in order for them

(19:12):
toild to hear it inside of a building, and so
it would need to be clear are close to these
facilities that have the highest number of people.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Then I don't know. I think sirens strike me as
a no brainer. They really do. I think it's probably
one of the most cost effective. I don't I have
price sirens. I have no idea what it would cost
to install them, but I wouldn't think it'd be horribly
cost prohibitive in order to be able to put sirens
up and down the river. Five twenty seven. Time to

Following a massive lawsuit from Gommeston County that ended in

finally we redraw those districts during this upcoming special session.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
Texas is a very conservative state.

Speaker 9 (25:17):
We could just draw the districts in a way that
is more representative of the people of the state of Texas,
which means we could pick up a couple of Republican
progressional seats.

Besides imposing tariffs to nudge trading partners to trade fairly,

President is using them for leverage on other countries' policies.
One rout of Terrists targets Brazil's treatment of its opposition leader.
Another goes after fentanyl traffic from Canada and lets fans

Speaker 26 (26:04):
What I hope we can do as America is having
the lowest taxes and lower regulations that get government out
of the way. That would be the best way to
compete with a lot of the countries across the globe
instead of raising taxes through tariffs.

Speaker 5 (26:18):

this a huge mistake.

This won't make it any easier either five point thirty
eight or time here in Houston's pony News. Right, you
just heard the story during Eric's newscast right about the
immigrant thing. That's how this whole thing kind of got
started with the new Superman movie, that he's an immigrant. Yeah,
you want to throw you wanted to deport Superman. I

(27:57):
don't know does he have MS thirteen out escape? If
he does, then yeah, maybe we should deport him. Listen.
I don't know why people want to put politics into
something that you would like to think would be a
universal story that everybody can appreciate, the story of Superman,

(28:18):
you know, a super superhero story that shouldn't have anything
to do with politics, shouldn't have anything to do with sex.
We don't watch Superman for sex. We don't watch Superman
and say, oh, I bet he's gay. Now you know
the whole Lois Lane thing. Who knows? But here's the

(28:39):
here's the part I want to do here. We're talking
about again. If there has been a movie that's come
out in the last year where just about everybody, regardless
of political persuasion, would be interested in seeing it, it
would be Superman. Until you have the director come out
and say things like, well it's an immigrant story to

(28:59):
want to put the politics into it. Then before you
know it, it's got a reputation of that being super woke. Well,
who wants to go see the superwoke Superman? None of
us want to go see it, so why would we?
And now you've got a gay magazine which is claiming
that Superman is a gay icon. G you mean like
Share or Liza Minellie, what do you mean why a

(29:22):
gay icon is Superman gay? Is that what you're trying
to say? And what do you base that on? And
why do we have to bring sexuality into this or
gender identity into this? Well, because everybody in the world
of politics, especially the progressive left, wants to make it

(29:42):
all about politics and ruin it for everybody else. I
don't know why they do, but they do. Five forty

coming into Crosby. They've shut down the whole thing. Some
of you know the back roads around there, that might

It is.

Speaker 15 (31:15):
It's a little bit of rain today and tomorrow, and
then we get a break before more rain later in

so far this summer is that our temperatures are behaving.

Speaker 16 (31:27):
It's going to be warm and muggy.

Speaker 15 (31:29):
We know that, and it's been just typical July, warm
and muggy, and that's a good thing. But if you've
got plans later on today, do expect some showers and
thunderstorms to fire up again. And occasionally those storms have
been big rain makers. It's a fifty percent chance of

I don't think there's any doubt or any argument right
that we are in a very slow real estate market.
At the moment, there's there's not a lot of movement here.
There's a lot of homes being sold, and that's not
likely to change until either interest rates come down quite
a bit or something else happens. They're having a discussion

(35:45):
on Fox Businesses Big Money Show about what needs to
happen in order to get the real estate market moving again.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
Here's a little bit of that.

Speaker 31 (35:52):
I hope Bill Pilty, he's a smart guy, but I
hope he and his group look at this very carefully because,
like you, I don't like to see I mean, the
problem hasn't been in a recession for several years.

Speaker 19 (36:04):
We know.

Speaker 31 (36:05):
That problem has been that inflation is faster than their
income gains.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
All right, Prices rise faster than wages. That's been the problem.

Speaker 31 (36:17):
Now that's changed in the past several months, and their
wages are rising faster than prices. That kind of real
income is the solution to being able to buy home.
Very important. That's the real solutions. It's not all interest
rates and other bells and whistles. It's the income factor.

(36:37):
And Chris President Trump wants an interest rates dound. It's
the FED lower's rates. The chances are good that the
mortgage rates will come down a point or so. Yes,
I think that's sure. That will help. Sure, But essentially,
you've got to have people making more money and you've
got to have prices stable.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
But I agree with Larry's point.

Speaker 32 (36:54):
If you go back to twenty twenty one, if you
wanted to buy a medium priced home, you needed an
income of seventy nine thousnd dollars. Today you need an
income of one hundred and twenty seven thousand dollars. Your
income has not risen fast.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
Enough to keep up with that.

Speaker 4 (37:08):
You know, we talk about interest rates.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
I just want to make a point on this.

Speaker 32 (37:11):
It's not that mortgage interest rates right now are so
egregiously high that no one could afford it, because are
a lot of people that I've paid higher interest rates in.

Speaker 4 (37:19):
The past, and I agree with that.

Speaker 27 (37:20):
Yeah, my parents were seventeen total totally.

Speaker 32 (37:23):
But what I just want to point out the problem
was this disparity that was created the last four years
between the three percent folks and that kind of the
seven percent land we're in now. You do have to
bring interest rates down a little bit to deal with
that temporary problem. I'm not saying it's the total solution,
but there is an interest rate arbitrage issue right now

(37:47):
in our market that if you don't deal.

Speaker 4 (37:48):
With, you're not going to free it up.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
Okay, well, the interest rate problem, but I find it
interesting the income versus inflation problem. Were people's incomes were
keeping up with inflation. Now that we're going in the
opposite direction again, where the inflation monster seems to have
been tamed at least for now, and incomes are going up.
That makes that makes a difference as well. And I've

(38:14):
said a million and a half times, maybe making a
million and three quarter times. Now you get that interest
rate down around five percent or near five percent, and
all of a sudden, I think you know, things go
crazy again. Five point fifty seven Here on news radio

Speaker 2 (53:41):
Forty ktrh so it turns out that the analyst who
crafted that cropped intelligence being the assessment Report on russia
meddling in the twenty sixteen, presidential election on behalf OF
former Cia Director. John brennan they're still active AT. The
cia joyce to talk About Is, kyle SERAPH former fbi
agent in Federal WHISTLEBLOWER kyle i would you would think

(54:04):
with The incoming trump administration they'd. Be gone but is
there a good reason why they're still THERE because i
know they've gone ahead And, charged brennan and they're charging
call me and maybe these guys are. Expert witnesses they
want to keep on the payroll long enough to testify against.

Speaker 3 (54:17):
Those, two.

Speaker 34 (54:20):
Well the story that we're hearing is that they're actually they're.
Being investigated so there was an announcement of, an investigation
which is a little confusing for those of us to
follow news because usually what you do is you announced
exactly what, you said, a charge, an indictment you announced.
The arrest you don't really investigate that, you're opening or
you don't announce that you're opening, An investigation and that
kind of leads me to believe this is. Mostly theater

(54:40):
now why people are still, sitting there it's actually. Pretty
straightforward they don't call it an administrative state or a
deep state. For nothing the people that run these agencies are,
still there and rarely are they the. Top people those
are the guys that give leadership. And direction so guys in,
gallatant name in director positions or, administrator positions they may
be the top, person nominally but the folks that actually

(55:02):
run the nuts and bolts OF, an fbi OF a
cia are a couple of, steps below and they run
individual programs and they report up and they brief on
and that's why you get these folks coming out and
making statements at the end of. The day we actually
used to know This in, western civilization that you can't
actually have people that are antithetical to, your views that
don't actually work under. Your, leadership well they used to

(55:23):
either execute or, exile people and that goes back five
hundred years maybe six hundred years of.

Speaker 17 (55:28):
State craft in.

Speaker 34 (55:29):
Our modern society were much, more evolved were much, More
civil so we don't kick people out.

Speaker 4 (55:35):
Of government we let them sit around for multiple.

Speaker 34 (55:37):
Terms under the idea that they're Loyal, as americans their
loyalty As the constitution and not to.

Speaker 4 (55:41):
Any institution but everything we have is.

Speaker 34 (55:44):
Proven otherwise these people that work inside the, intelligence communities
high estimates would say something like eighty percent of them
are loyal to what they do and not the people
that are in office telling them in the political roles
that step in from, you know the.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
New executive so it sounds like what you're saying is
we're banking the assumption or somebody who's making the assumption
that the only reason why these people did what they
did is because there Was a democrat, in power and
now that There's a republican, in power they won't be that.

Speaker 4 (56:08):
Way anymore that is.

Speaker 34 (56:10):
The Song that i've been singing for quite a. While
now it's pretty obvious when you work. Inside, there look
the attitude is is when you see people retire FROM,
an fbi when you see people retire FROM a cia
in an, administrative function they've been there for.

Speaker 4 (56:23):
Thirty, five years they've been there for forty.

Speaker 34 (56:24):
Two years they get a, retirement party and everybody knows
who they are.

Speaker 4 (56:27):
In the, entire building and so they last.

Speaker 34 (56:30):
WELL beyond, i mean that's what a deep state sounds
like a, sexy term but, in reality administrative state is.
More accurate and what it means is is people that
outlast every single political administration because they're not operating politically.
Per se but that doesn't mean that they're not operating
in their, own interests and their own interests are going
to outlast any single eight year executive turn that comes

(56:50):
in and tries to turn.

Speaker 2 (56:51):
The, table okay well that tells me there's absolutely no
fear within that so called, deep state or as, you say,
administrative state of either, being caught but if you, are
caught does no fear of being, punished.

Speaker 34 (57:03):
Well and then even more, to that you people can
go and Review the office Of The inspector general reports
and there's some for the, intel agencies and there's obviously
some OF the fbi. AS well dj has THEIR Own
oig and when you go, read it what happens is
is people will be involved in even. CRIMINAL malfeasons a
lot of times it's character issues or they'll do things
that are, you know that you just can't fathom, they're
doing whether it be, sexual malfeasans whether it be, you

(57:24):
know misuse of their, government job.

Speaker 3 (57:26):
Whether, you know so on and, so forth it.

Speaker 4 (57:27):
Doesn't matter and when.

Speaker 34 (57:28):
They go and, the investigate their standard is going to
always be what is the preponderance of, the evidence which
is usually the, same thing not for criminal but for
civil In The, united states and they're recommended for termination.
AND prosecution dj always declines, to prosecute and the person's
able to retire and walk away with. Their pension and by,
the way their name is never revealed as the target of,
the investigation so they don't even they're not even, publicly

(57:50):
shamed so they go get a nice high paying jobs
somewhere in the in the information, industrial complex which is
kind of the military industrial complex For the. Intel agencies
they have this, you know big tech and big security
that exists out there in. The world so they go
out and they land on their feet and, they're fine
and so no one's ever really punished, for it so
they're encouraged to continue acting.

Speaker 2 (58:09):
This way do you Think The james Coming Or john
brennan will end up being punished for all this?

Speaker 9 (58:12):
Or not.

Speaker 34 (58:14):
ABSOLUTELY not i don't think those guys lot to win.
TO sleep i think that they fit into the kind
of the political.

Speaker 4 (58:18):
ROYALTY class i don't think that this is. ALL theater
a lot, OF it.

Speaker 34 (58:22):
I think is trying to distract from what happened With
the steam file rollout in the attempt to shut down.
That investigation, REAL quietly i think this was a panic
moment where, they, say well let's announce we're doing something
so people think that we're trying to hold, folks accountable
because that was completely mishandled and rolled out On a
sunday night through a Leak, at, axios which by, the
way you haven't heard anybody being yelled at, for leaking.

Speaker 3 (58:42):
Which means it.

Speaker 34 (58:42):
Was intentional they just don't want to.

Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
New information since i'm Just going On. Thursday and friday
i'm not sure how much of this, you're aware of
but one OF the pieces i saw that really grabbed
my attention was just how deep, the river got just how.
Much it, flooded you know we were saying last week
and before that, twenty six, feet you know between twenty

(01:15:16):
six and. Twenty seven feet turns out it was a lot.
More than that here's a report on that from OUR television.

Speaker 4 (01:15:21):
Partner.

Speaker 38 (01:15:22):
Kprc too well initial estimate Said That the guadaloupe river
rose to twenty nine feet at the height. Of, the
destruction well new estimates put that number closer. To forty
feet Take, Me to Relis anthony nas is on the
river to put. That, Into, Perspective, ANTHONY.

Speaker 39 (01:15:38):
Yeah keith i just want to give you a PERSPECTIVE of,
where I am and i'm about one hundred and two
hundred yards Away From, the guadaloupe river and if you
look exactly to the, left of me you can see
that the water actually came up this high and it
wrapped this large branch.

Speaker 4 (01:15:54):
Around this tree and so it's.

Speaker 39 (01:15:55):
Incredible to think that we look at, a week ago,
at this time we had water. Levels THIS high so
i want to show you some graphics to give you
a description of what we saw. When this occurred so
we're going to Start With the guadalupe river and how
quickly the. Water levels rose Let's start with hunt and
so the Highest, level at hunt it basically went from
four to ten in the morning at eight feet to

(01:16:16):
five ten in the morning to thirty seven and, a
half feet breaking the all time record of thirty six.
Point six feet as we move east along the river
and Go To the guadalupe River At above Bear, creek
at curveville and at about five pint fifteen, in the
morning you were anywhere from three, to five feet and
then just at six forty five you now go up

(01:16:37):
to nearly twenty four feet of Heightier With the guadalupe
river NOW specifically where i Am, here at curveville the
water was gently moving a little less than two feet
high at about four o'clock in the morning at, four
forty five it's now twenty three and. A half feet
at six forty five it is now at thirty four

(01:16:57):
feet plus before going down at seven forty five, in
the morning and then we head all the way off
to comfort and this. Is really incredible you hardly had
the stream, moving at all and then at nine o'clock
in the morning to nine thirty it now goes to
twenty five feet and then to thirty four feet at.
Ten forty five so that's just the height people when

(01:17:17):
they come and, look at this and. Even for me
you heard the descriptions of this looks. Like a tornado
it looks. Like a hurricane.

Speaker 4 (01:17:24):
YEAH it did i mean the destruction.

Speaker 2 (01:17:26):

actually if you Live, in the woodlands you still. Have
the mall that's still. A busy place i don't go,
there very often but there's, always people there especially. On
the weekends So in, the woodlands anyway the mall. IS
a destination i don't know how much, shopping actually happens,

(01:26:26):
but they're there and people are there and. They're hanging
out THE reason why i bring up the topic and
asked the QUESTION is because I saw where amazon they
Had Their annual prime day sales event, lasted four days
twice as long as. In the past it has blown
away any. Previous Sales figures prime day, twenty twenty Five

(01:26:47):
which ran july eighth, through the eleventh Was The biggest.

of money. In four days care to guess how much
money they made, in four days twenty four point one billion,
In four days, so you know he saw this whole Thing.

(01:27:09):
Coming with amazon the good news Is that obviously. Amazon's very,
healthy you know regardless of what You Think, of jeff
bezos you know that model's. Not going anywhere we have
decided that our preferred method for most shopping is to
go online and, to buy it, shop for it buy
it and have it, sent to us versus us getting,

(01:27:31):
in the car driving to the mall or some other
retail outlet and going and. Picking something, out even clothing
y'all used to have a be afraid to. Buy clothes
online but they've made returning things very easy for, the
most part so it's pretty even if you get something
it doesn't fit or you don't like it once you see,

(01:27:52):
it in person it's pretty easy to send it back and.
Get a refund it's it really has become the go
to method for most. People to shop and it's SAD
ways because i hate to see the brick and. MORTAR stores,
struggle i mean there's that that's kind of A. Part of,
americana you know you see so many empty storefronts now
because there's not as many businesses that need to have

Speaker 29 (01:33:48):
National Politics For the Washington Examiner, and washington post and
you know last year was, the presidential ELECTION and so
i was there not just to cover what was going
going on and how the, country was SHIFTING but also
i was Supposed To interview president. Trump that day IT
started out i was going to interview him five minutes,

(01:34:08):
before the event then, five minutes after and then the
decision WAS made that i was going To fly to
bedminster and Interview Him on, trump force one which was
the plane he was using, at that time WHICH was
why i was so close to him in, the BUFFER
zone because i would have to go immediately into the

(01:34:31):
motorcade once the.

Speaker 2 (01:34:32):
Event was over so it was almost like divine providence
for you that you had that, access to him especially
on a. Day like that you were on the podium
when the. Shots were fired could you? HEAR the shots
i was just south to the side OF the.

Speaker 29 (01:34:46):
Podium i was it's Called the buffer it's usually where
You See. Seek secret service it's between the stage and.
The rally, ATTENDEES oh yes i mean the shot went right.
OVER my head i knew immediately.

Speaker 34 (01:35:01):
What it was i'm.

Speaker 29 (01:35:02):
A gun owner i saw the blood streak. ACROSS his
face i saw him. Grab his ear time seemed to.
Go in layers it's. Hard TO explain. And i, understood you.
Said divine, PROVIDENCE you know i wasn't supposed TO be, where,
i was right he wasn't supposed to turn his head.
When he did and there's this, Sense, OF like okay,

(01:35:25):
I have purpose i'm supposed.

Speaker 19 (01:35:26):
To be here.

Speaker 29 (01:35:27):
I'M a reporter i need to. Do MY job so i,
didn't get down and there were four more, shots after
That After the secret service surrounded him in. A PROTECTIVE
stance but i was still standing until His, press aid
michelle butcard the third literally took me down and laid

(01:35:50):
on top of me.

Speaker 12 (01:35:51):
To.

Speaker 4 (01:35:51):
PROTECT me wow I know.

Speaker 2 (01:35:53):
The president's talk quite a bit about how he believes
that he was spared by The Hand. OF almighty god
i believe that the vast majory of the supporters believe.
The same thing what?

Speaker 29 (01:36:04):
Do, you believe, well you, Know Interestingly enough president trump
called me, the next morning, right and EARLY asked if.
I was okay he would go on to call me seven.
Times that day and it is, in those discussions and
it's in the book where he talked about The hand
of god and he, talked about, purpose you know questioning his,

(01:36:29):
purpose going Forward and that god was telling him that
he was saved. For a purpose and, SO you know
i am, someone of faith and so that is not
hard for me.

Speaker 6 (01:36:43):
To.

Speaker 29 (01:36:43):
DISPEL it all i could, easily see that and we
would have many conversations throughout the rest. Of the campaign
and why the book. Is so important it's not just about,
that historic day but it's also about what happened in
this country that was rarely covered with the detail and,

(01:37:06):
importance of purpose and and also how the country changed because.

Speaker 4 (01:37:16):
Of that moment some people call.

Speaker 29 (01:37:18):
It an awakening i'm not qualified, to SAY that but
i certainly saw a very big difference. In my, COVERAGE
you know i Live. IN western pennsylvania I Cover, The Great, Lakes, Midwest,
pennsylvania michigan Wisconsin but also APPALACHIA and and, i DON'T

(01:37:40):
fly and i. Don't TAKE interstates so i cover these
political movements from the ground up and. Through THE people
and i definitely saw something pivotal happened.

Speaker 4 (01:37:53):
In that moment you Sound Like the john. Madden. Of journalism.

Speaker 29 (01:38:00):
Flying IT'S just that I miss like I'LL fly if
i have two. For personal reasons but, as a reporter.
You missed everything that's, A Good point like i'm not
going to fly over the Entire. State of ohio i'm
going to miss.

Speaker 4 (01:38:14):
So many stories We're talking.

Speaker 2 (01:38:16):

the untold story of The Near assassination donald Trump in
The Fight. For marcus heartline we're almost. OUT of time
i want to ask you this before we. LET you
go i wish we had more, Time, with you selena,
and that is do you believe that we know all
there is to know about the assassination attempt, on the
president or do you believe there's a lot of information
that either hasn't been discovered or.

Speaker 4 (01:38:38):
IS being withheld.

Speaker 29 (01:38:40):
I think there's a lot of information as this new
administration is taken over, that's in discovery and we're seeing
that start to peel back a lot of the big
problem and what happened that day was a lack of
communication between local law Enforcements And, the SECRET, service the
fbi everyone there that was supposed to be to protect

(01:39:03):
not just the president but also. The people there they
weren't communicating and that was a very. System wide failure
and you would think we would have learned that from. Nine,
to eleven right that was part of. The big failure
none of our agencies talk, to each other and yet
here in charge, of the. President they're not plus they,

(01:39:24):
make arbitrary, decisions you know between someone who is not
president and someone, who is president and how the breadth
in which they, they PROTECT them and i think that's
something that is archaic and needs.

Speaker 2 (01:53:48):
A forecast problem i don't think it was. A forecast
problem but they were having A. Discussion, in Dc Anyway
Here's senator ted cruz talking with A couple of noah nominees.
About weather prediction You, mentioned that noah whether radio had?
Saved your life would would you elaborate.

Speaker 4 (01:54:03):
On that and tell.

Speaker 41 (01:54:03):
US what happened i was at A campsite in florida
with some friends and it issued, a tornado alert and
it was. About ten pm and this WAS back before
i had a cell, phone OR smartphone and i took
out A gazettter and i looked at the towns that
had mentioned, along THE way and i, extrapolated the direction
which was RIGHT over where i. Knew we WERE and

(01:54:24):
so i drove around the campsite and held my horn
down and told as MANY people as i, could to leave.
And everyone left we went further down the coast to
a hospital and went into the emergency room because it
was the. Closest brick building when we went back, to
the campsite.

Speaker 4 (01:54:40):
It was nothing.

Speaker 24 (01:54:41):
But.

Speaker 17 (01:54:41):
Bare dirt.

Speaker 35 (01:54:43):
Wow, In Twenty seventeen hurricane harvey devastated the entire communities
all Up And Down. Texas gulf coast the damage to
our state was well over one hundred and twenty bill
and may prove to be closer to one hundred and

(01:55:03):
eighty billion when all is. Said and done texans prepare
for hurricanes and Flooding by using, noah's Weather forecasts but
european numerical weather prediction models HAVE been outperforming us. Models
and forecasting it's a question For both doctor Jacobs. And mister,
jordan if confirmed how do you plan to close the

(01:55:24):
gap And ensure that noah's forecasts are the best.

Speaker 4 (01:55:27):
In the world.

Speaker 41 (01:55:29):
Closing the gap was going to require a mix of
collecting more. And better observations because these prediction are. Initial
value problems they all start from better observations and, then
data Assimilation So the Joint Effort for Data Integration and.
Data assimilation system one of the Reasons why the europeans
have a better MODEL than the us is they use
four dimensional. Variational DATA assimilation the us needs to advance

(01:55:54):
its data assimilation where it can also consolidate its modeling
systems across.

Speaker 4 (01:55:58):
Resolutions of.

Speaker 2 (01:55:59):
Time is okay, in other words we got to. Spend
more MONEY that's what i got. Out of that even
if they, do all that do you really think that
we're ever going to be one hundred percent accurate In
Predicting what mother nature is?

Speaker 19 (01:56:12):
GOING to do.

Speaker 2 (01:56:13):
I certainly. Don't no way the weather does what. The
WEATHER does, LIKE i said i don't think it was.
A forecast problem it was a warning problem getting the
warning to the people who needed to hear it at.
The Right time now i'm back. On the sirens put. Up,
