(01:33):
It is time now for the news. Here's sheryff Fryar. Good morning.
I don't have a microphone. Okay, good morning everyone. It is now
five o two on news Radio sevenforty KTRH and our top story this hour
unity at the RNC. Donald Trumphas my strong endorsement period. Yeah.

(02:02):
That's the former rival Nikki Hailey givingher complete and total endorsement to Donald Trump
at the RNC in Milwaukee last night. Invited to attend to make that speech,
among the other speakers last night TexasSenator Ted Cruz, who focused on
our broken border. Never before hasan election mattered so much. We are

(02:25):
facing an invasion on our southern border, not figuratively, a literal invasion.
Last night's theme was make America SafeAgain. Our live coverage will continue tonight
at seven on KTRH dot com aswell and the iHeartRadio app. A man
shot and killed by police near theConvention Center yesterday. Police say it was

(02:49):
unrelated to the RNC gathering. Thatman was armed with knives involved in a
fight of some sort with another man. As the FBI investigates the tempted assassination
of President Donald Trump, we're learningabout a separate assassination plot. Yeah.
According to the government, US intelligenceofficials were tracking a potential Iranian assassination plot

(03:14):
against former President Donald Trump in recentweeks and have beefed up security because of
it. Those officials are also tellingFox the plot was not connected to Pennsylvania
gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks. That's SebeeCotton of Fox. Secret Service director Kimberly
cheadah under scrutiny, heavy scrutiny overthe near assassination of Donald Trump after She

(03:35):
claimed that the building the shooter usedwasn't secured because it had a sloped roof.
We're going to have a hearing Monday, and we're gonna ask some serious
questions that she's going to have toanswer, and I'm real concerned about her
confidence. House Majority Leader Steve Scaliseof Louisiana, Trump's son Eric says the
last four days have been an emotionalroller coaster for the family. A punch

(03:59):
in the I'm thinking he was possiblydead on the ground with Secret Service agents
lying on top and obviously making himthe Republican nominee, to then seeing him
walk into the convention the first timehe's really been seen since that shooting.
Trump with KGRH as Klay Travis andBuck Sexton attempted assassination has the left calling
for unity. But do they reallymean that this recent call for unity is

(04:20):
a complete one eighty for Democrats.Democrats have consistently demonized and tried to marginalize
anyone who stands in the way oftheir agenda. Political analyst Laed Davidick told
KTRH there's a good reason to doubtthat these calls for unity are sincere.
These are people who over the decadeshave utilized violent political rhetoric to divide and

(04:43):
pit Americans one against the other.Davidia says, Americans do want unity,
but we shouldn't back down from holdingthese toxic politicians accountable. Ethan Buchanan News
Radio seven forty k TRH our newstime now is five oh five. Joe
Biden losing even more Democrats support toCalifornia. Congressman Adam Shift, running for
the Senate of California, has repeatedlytold donors are reportedly in private meetings that

(05:06):
the Democrats could quote lose everything Houseand Senate if Joe Biden remains at the
top of the ticket. Reportedly, the window replaced Biden though on that ticket
has closed. There's this August fifthvirtual delegate vote at the DNC that's going
to come up fat. But alsoPresident Biden controls the delegates that he won.

(05:31):
The voters have already voted, WhiteHouse reporter John Bennett, Yeah,
the voters voted. He says,Biden may have simply run out the clock
on all of this. He campaignedat the NAACP convention in Las Vegas and
has told us repeatedly about corn pop. Remember, well, it turns out
Biden had another friend as a kid, one of my best friends, Resa,

(05:55):
when I was a lifeguard projects hewas his His nickname is Mount Mouse.
When he was a lifeguard. Hepoliticized the Trump assassination attempt to he
uses it now to call for aban on what he terms assault weapons.

mask. They say he killed aman near the Woodlands. The sheriff's office
believes the shooter and victim knew eachother. It's the tenth day without power
for about fifty four thousand Center Pointcustomers. What has Center Point told you?
I haven't told us anything. We'rereally relying on our county. Judge

(06:39):
Marcillo, I think we're just forgotten, forgotten, a Kingwood resident with our
TV partner, Channel two. Thedeath toll from the storm in southeast Texas
rising now to at least eighteen, six of the deaths reported now as heat
related. A surge in property crimesto since Barrel, nearly fifty people have
been arrested and charged with burglary afterrepeatedly rebuffing state offers of helping resources in

(07:02):
the recovery. The Harris County JudgeAlina Hidalgo now claims she doesn't have the
resources to pick up debris. Wellright now, Judge Loldago is not acting
like the county judge that's in chargeof emergency response. She'd be much better
off and the community being much betteroff as well, if she would take

(07:23):
that role. Seriously. State SenatorPaul Bettencourt says it's just more hypocrisy from
Hidalgo. He didn't call it atotal failure of leadership. Guess he was
being nice. Five h seven isour time. The American League beats the

is there such a thing as heatlightning? No, there is not such
a thing as heat lightning. Whatwe think of of heat lightning, or
what we tend to call heat lightning, is lightning that is taking place in
a storm so far away you're nothearing the thunder. Oh so it's just
regular lightning, no heat lightning. It does not know such thing, no

(11:22):
such thing. That is so interesting. I remember hearing that term too when
I was growing up. But ifthere's lightning, there's thunder somewhere, just
not close to where you are.And I am seeing a couple of showers
and thunderstorms down near Lake Jackson andjust to the south of Galveston. Those

(11:43):
streamer showers we get this morning, but we're gonna get more rain for the

his friends, took it and diedof an overdose fetanyl, and how she
blames the open border policies of thisadministration for what happened to her son.

Her speech very moving. Here's alittle bit of it for you. Hi.
My name is Anne Fundner, andI am the wife and mother of
four children. I'm standing here todayto share the tragic reality of open borders.
I'm here to share the story ofmy firstborn son, my everything,

(15:52):
my Weston. My family and Iwere living in southern California when President Biden
took office and opened our borders. My Weston was fifteen. He was an
amazing big brother to his three youngersiblings. Weston attended church twice a week,
played football and hockey, and heloved to serve. He had a

(16:17):
big heart and he lived to makepeople laugh. He had so many good
friends, and I was always vigilantto be the best mother that I could
be. His room moms, schoolambassador, and I attended all of his
sports. We had family dinners andbarbecues at the beach, and like most

(16:38):
teenagers, Weston wanted to fit in, and in a moment of peer pressure,
he tried something that someone gave tohim and it took my baby's life.
We did everything right. I hadthose conversations with him and bent and

(16:59):
all still my son. And onFebruary twenty seventh, twenty twenty two,
our lives were shattered and our babywas gone. This was not an overdose,
It was a poisoning. His wholefuture. Everything we ever wanted for

(17:19):
him was ripped away in an instant. And Joe Biden does nothing. I
hold Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, the borders are what a joke. And
Gavin Newsom and every Democrat who supportsopen borders responsible for the death of my
son, thank you, thank you, and the tens of thousands of American

(17:56):
innocent children for that alone, theyshould be voted out of office. Something

(18:22):
tells me, yes, he missSomething tells me this will be a campaign
commercial, as it should be,as it should be. So Moscow absolutely
pretty moving stuff. I mean, yeah, I know, people don't take
the time. I've been to somany conventions that I watch them, sure,

(18:47):
and boy, I've just never seena convention like this one. Yeah
ever all not every night. Imean to these everyday people in their testimonies
and the response from the people, and I think it makes a difference when
you hear from people who've been personallyaffected by instead of their role government policies.
They've shot politicians. I mean,you know, come on, I

(19:08):
agree. Five twenty seven. Timeto take a look at your money.
Courtney Donaho, good morning, Hey, good morning too, Denisen for Courtney

relocating headquarters for X and SpaceX toTexas. That adds more fuel to the

five thirty two on news radio sevenforty KTRH and our top story this

President of the United States. FloridaGovernor Ron desanis at the RNC in Milwaukee
last night. He was one ofthe challengers you know of Donald Trump that

(22:30):
was defeated by Trump during primary season. Another was Vivek Ramas Swami. We're
not going to win this election justby criticizing the other side. We're going
to win this by standing for ourown vision of who we really are.
Nikki Hayley, who is the lastopponent opposing candidate to suspend her campaign,

(22:52):
finally took to the stage, wasinvited and given Trump her full support.
The theme for today A three inMilwaukee is make America Safe Again. Ohio
Senator jd Vance accepting the nomination inhis speech for Vice President. Tonight Coverage
here on KTRH and KTRH dot Com. In the iHeart Radio app beginning at

(23:15):
seven PM. One of the otherspeakers during the day session today, Trump
attorney Alena Haba, two days aftera federal judge in Florida dismissed the Marra
a Lago documents case, ruling thatSpecial Counsel Jack Smith's appointment was unconstitutional.
It's embarrassing for my profession what hedid. And I think that Merrick Garland

(23:37):
and the Biden administration has become sodesperate and sloppy that these are falling one
after another like Domino's. Yeah,Haba with kt h's Clay Travis and Buck
Sexton is sewn five thirty four moredisturbing details about the attempted assassination of Donald
Trump and the failure of the SecretService to actually prevent protect him. Fox

(23:57):
News has learned before the shooting,Raley Gower spotted a suspicious man with what
appeared to be binoculars or a rangefinder. Sources also say that same person was
pacing around magnetometers and the security barrierbefore the event began. According to multiple
different videos and witness interviews, itwas at least eighty seconds from the time

(24:17):
people alerted police to the time theshooting began. David Spunt reporting, and
now we're being told about an Iranianplot to assassinate Trump, one that the
government claims necessitated giving the president extrasecurity. Well did they? Also?
The Bidens was saying it had nothingto do with Saturday's attempted assassination. However,

(24:41):
House Oversight Committee in a hearing onMonday, and with many questions for
the Director of the Secret Service pira, including these dei comments made by Secret
Service Director Kimberly Cheedle to CBS,we need to attract diverse candidates and particularly
women. Bullsh is a former SecretService agent who now lives in the Woodlands

(25:03):
and is the owner of the SaddleRiver Range. We have to go back
to some semblance of the most qualifiedperson gets the position. If you're the
best at what you do, youshould be rewarded for it, and former
president should get rewarded by having thebest people for the job. Kimberly Cheatle,
by the way, was picked byJoe Biden in twenty twenty two.

(25:25):
Jeff Biggs News Radio seven forty kt H Democrat criminals in Congress. But
the mainstream media doesn't obsess the waythey obsess over Donald Trump and his Manhattan
bookkeeping trial, New Jersey Democrat SenatorBob Menendez was found guilty on sixteen counts,
all sixteen counts of bribery and corruption. Obviously, I'm deeply, deeply

(25:51):
disappointed by the jury's decision. Ihave every faith that the law and the
facts did not sustain that decision, and that we will be successful upon appeal.
Yeah, on the Intelligence Committee,Senator Menendez now facing new calls to
resign, and those calls coming fromthe majority leader, Chuck Schumer and other
Democrats. Five point thirty six isa time Centerpoint has not restored power for

(26:15):
about fifty four thousand customers, nowin their tenth day without air conditioning,
power, refrigeration in ninety degree heat. We told you yesterday that Attorney Tony
Busby is suing Center Point on behalfof several local restaurants who were impacted by
the outages. What sealed it forme as far as Center Point goes is

(26:36):
you know their CEO was sitting inhis office telling us about how great Centerpoint's
response was to the storm, withthe thermostat behind his left ear seventy degrees.
I love that, Busby told WaltonJohnson on nine to fifty KPRC is
about forcing Center Point to become accountablefor its actions. Meantime alignment in Galveston
working to restore power, there hasbeen arrested charge with beating up another lineman.

(27:02):
The victim in critical condition. Atlast check, newly constructed beach houses
homes in Galveston, they actually dida better job holding up to Hurricane Beryl
than did the older homes. Itwas essentially a practice run of some new
and improved building codes. They putin windload codes. They put in all
these new codes to strengthen the structuresto make them withstand the winds. Jim

(27:26):
Duddan of the Texas Home Improvement Showsays retrofitting these codes is costly, and
while these codes are a good idea, it comes with consequences. All this
advancement and these extra things that wedo to make the houses stronger also add
to the cost of it. Soit's a give and take. This says
the best thing to do in anolder home is leave when a storm hits.
Modorey Perard news Radio seven forty KTRH. I'm Sheriff Fryer on news radio

here. Stay alert and be prepared. On US Radio seven forty kt RH
for Ingrid Andress that evidently she didtwo things yesterday. She admitted she was

(28:17):
drunk during her performance, which wouldexplain a lot. Although I don't know,
I find myself a much better singerwhen I'm drunk or what, have
had a few toure meny other peoplethink that that might not be that.
You might have a point. Thatmight not be the case. I sound
in my head, I sound better. She probably thought she was singing really

(28:37):
really well. She didn't look verygood. No, she didn't. She
said that she's going to check herselfinto a facility. Well that's always the
no. Everybody loves you, theyforgive you. Sure, yeah, check
yourself in right exactly now. Idon't know if she's actually going to do
it or not, because one ofthe one of the things that she said
in the post that she had wasabout no no both to rehab it sounds

(29:03):
like it'll be fun. I don'tknow if she was being sarcastic or if
she really thinks that rehabits is fun. It's it's difficult, especially if you
are an alcoholic and you've got somewithdrawal problems to go through and all those
other things to deal with. Idon't think she will find it very fun,
but she may find it very helpful, and it might also help her,
as you said, gain a littlesympathy and people forget about her.

(29:26):
I don't think anybody will ever forgetabout the anthem performance. Unfortunately, she
did it in front of a nationalaudience. Is there for everybody to see,
just like the Roseanne bar will willwill live in infamy. Well,
my husband saw the apology. Hehad not heard the national anthem. Did
you play for him? Well?Yeah? What did he think? Wow?

(29:49):
Yeah, it was pretty bad.Five forty time for traffic and mother

unquote vegetation management program that people areso upset with a Centerpoint executive would not
firmly commit to meeting Governor Abbott's demand. Meanwhile, many homeowners are telling us

(34:59):
their attempts to potentially dangerous trees trimmedin the past have gone nowhere. Months
before Hurricane Barrel stormed through when itwould blow this direction, homeowner Alex Rome
says he tried and tried to getthis backyard tree trimmed after it was rubbing
and sparking on the live power line. They said they would add us to
the tree trimming queue, the queuethe cue. Grome says, that was

(35:21):
his first call to Center Point. Then the Dracho hid in May and the
Center Point representative said, since it'snot actively on fire, he would just
put us back in the queue. So now they're in the queue twice twice.
He says he wound up spending onethousand bucks to trim the tree on
his own. Meanwhile, hundreds wroteus on kju's Facebook page, including Tina,
who said we've got trees rubbing onlines. A ton of neighbors have

(35:45):
called about it, and they don'tdo anything. Vicki told us they have
not been here since December twenty nineteen, nothing trimmed since, and Amanda sent
us this video of a neighborhood treecatching fire around a live wire. The
feedback come after K eleven investigates andcovered how compared to other utilities. Responding
to Baryl, center Point ranked nearthe bottom in tree spending per customer last

(36:08):
year. The company executive said Centerpointserves a more dense urban landscape compared to
others in more rural areas. Idon't believe that that's a complete accurate way,
just by itself to say that's therepresentation of your vegetation management program.
But Governor Abbott is now taking aimat Centerpoints tree maintenance program, giving the

(36:30):
company an ultimatum they must provide indetail what center Point will do to eliminate
all vegetation issues. The removal mustbe accomplished by August the thirty first Is
that deadline doable? Is it evenrealistic? To be honest, I'm not
aware or fully appreciative of exactly whathe's looking at. It seems very cut

(36:51):
and dry. August thirty first, remove vegetation. It does seem cutting clear.
But the devils in the details, all the devils in the Isn't it
always the devil's in the details.I find it kind of interesting that they're
using the fact that they serve avast urban area as an excuse for the
lack of spending on tree removal.I think you have a lot bigger trees

(37:14):
in your neighborhood than I have inmine now in the suburbs, old neighborhoods
inside Houston, yes, we do, all the suburbs. I mean we
only have a lot of those newsubdivisions. Ones that are ten fifteen years
old don't have big, huge, hawking trees. Much as the power lines
is damage to your neighbors, andit's having limbs or branches fall on like
the cable lines that are strung.Sure you know, I have to pay

(37:36):
myself to have my trees trimmed everyyear to make sure that it's not encroaching
on people's lines. Or power theircable whatever, right, and it's just
tough. Luck. City sends outa little notice to me and tells me
you must cut these trees. Well, they should send the same us all
right, even though it's in thecity right away, they should send the
same notice to Center Point about thetrees that are blocking their power lines.

going on? Of those three thousand, we have only lost one to a
physical fitness standard, and so thatis about the barriers that we have been

tell our story from our recruiter standpoint. Well, that's Air Force recruiting Commander

is the quote updating some physical requirements. I think it's called dumbing it down.
Maybe update means dumbed down, andnot just dumbed down, but physical

news Radio seven forty KTRH. Youwould think that this would help, but

(46:31):
evidently it doesn't. Over the lastthree years, Centerpoint Energy has spent eight
hundred million dollars on twenty massive generatorsthat they had to get that approved by
state regulars. They proved it becauseCenterpoint claimed at the time that the generators
would keep the lights on during theextended power outage. Only, as it

(46:52):
turns out, none of them, almost none of them, were deployed in
the wake of Beryl. Why weren'tthey deployed? Some of these generators are
i mean, their masters to thepoint where they can power an entire neighborhood.
Why isn't one of these generators deployedto Kingwood? Are several of them
deployed? Don't have the lines totake them from the point of generation into

(47:15):
individual households. They won't work, will they. Well, in fact,
that would be part of it.I mean, you've got to get that
debris cleared, you got to getthose lines back up. None of those
generators have been put into service sinceCenterpoint first began running them in twenty twenty
one. Uh oh. The companytold the Chronicle this week that they are
quote not for rapid response use andare not designed to be mobile. Okay,

(47:38):
so you knew a storm is coming, Take it and construct it wherever
you need to construct it. Centerpointhas deployed three of its remaining five large
generators at a water processing plant andtwo senior living centers. Each of those
is the size of a tractor trailer. It has about five megawatts of capacity.
But the other ones, the largerones, have never been used.

(48:00):
They're just a quote unquote insurance policyfor bigger power outages. Well, if
they're never used, then what kindof insurance is it there? For the
plans that don't have enough natural gaswhen the wind and solar fails. That's
what that is for. They arenot very mobile. They require constructing.
In other words, they're in partsand you have to put them together,

(48:20):
and you can't use it for arapid response. So I guess my question
would be, is that eight hundredmillion dollars well spent money if you can't
really use it in an emergency. If you're if you're justifying spending eight hundred
million dollars for something you can usean emergency, but you can't use these,
why would you spend the money? You know this, this, this
is a bigger issue than just CenterPoint. This is PUC, This is

(48:45):
this, this is a state thing. It's you know, as real easy
to just lay all the blame onCenter Point. That don't forget they are
highly regulated. So who took theireye off the ball? I think the
state is going to end up havingabout as much egg on their face as
the as Centerpoint does. When thisis over setting and done with six eleven,

the House Oversight Committee chaired by KentuckyRepublican Congressman James Comer. Yeah, that's

(01:02:09):
Fox's Kevin Ureskie reporting. Of course, this Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheadle under
a little bit of scrutiny because she'sfocused so much on DEI and they say
not enough, I'm protecting Donald Trump. I'm seeing a lot of that on
social media and people, you know, looking at what happened and zooming in

(01:02:30):
on certain agents and commenting on theirheight and their inability maybe to holster their
firearm. That was in our trainingdivision for five years and it's been going
on for years. As the formerSecret Service agent Tom Ball, she's local.
He's the owner of Saddle River Rangein the Woodlands. Mainstream media back
to old tricks, less than aweek after this failed assassination attempt. It's

(01:02:51):
all about politics, you know.Listen to what they said about the bandage
on Trump's ear, an image forpolitical mobilization aspect for this candidate, who
we know is by his own admission, obsessed with assorted spectacles. Uh huh
MSNBC Ari Melber. There Iranians wereplotting to kill Trump, is what this

(01:03:15):
administration is telling us now. Theplot serious enough that they say they gave
Trump extra security before last week.Biden administration officials claim it has nothing to
do though, with what they didduring the attempt on his life in Pennsylvania.
Mainstream media totally totally ignoring this forthe most part. That New Jersey

Democrat Senator Bob Menendez has been convicted. He's a criminal on sixteen counts of
bribery and corruption in the service ofthe country of Egypt. I have never
ever been a foreign agent, andthe decision right under by the jury today

(01:04:00):
they think a foreign agent would be. They have never taken away his security

to resign include the Senate Majority leaderChuck Schumer. It's six thirty six now.
About fifty four thousand Center Point customerswere told this morning in their tenth

(01:04:23):
day without power. Yesterday we toldyou about a class action suit filed by
against Center Point by a local localbusinesses, a group of local businesses represented
by Houston attorney Tony Busby Paul ormom and pop shops. You know,
if they're not open, they can'tpay their employee. So that's kind of
why we started there. And plusbecause a lot of these people I'm representing,

(01:04:46):
like Ronnie Killing as an example,or ruffle Yobar, like I said,
ben Burg, these are people thatare known people. Buzzby on nine

their attention. You've noticed mosquitoes morethan buzzing since the storm. Yeah,

(01:05:06):
Brazoria and Mattagorda Counties have started theirspraying programs. Is to counteract qulex mosquitoes
and the diseases they carry viruses.Newly constructed beach homes in Galveston they held
up in the storm better than theolder homes did. Jim Dutton of Texas
Home Improvements says new building codes havehelped adding them to older homes. Trying

(01:05:30):
to upgrade like that, that's achallenge as they are being remodeled and you
open up walls, hurricane straps anddifferent things like that can be added.
But to retrofit these new codes intoexisting homes is just cost prohibitive. Yeah,
he says. These newer codes, while helpful, they also add a
lot higher costs. That's what weknow. Six point thirty seven is our

why. According to a University ofHouston survey, about twenty nine percent of

people currently living in the Houston metroarea said they were considering leaving Houston at
least in part because of severe weather. That's pretty high number. I wonder
if they asked about crime management.I don't see that in here about crime.

(01:06:38):
Here's here's the thing. We havetransplants that come and go all the
time in the Greater Houston area, and the number may be that high.
I'm sure there are plenty of peoplewho came here for a job from somewhere
else. Some love it here.I would have to be one. Others
perhaps don't appreciate it as much asas I do, and they've decided that

(01:06:58):
I can't put up well, Ican't put up with losing my power and
having a hurricane. Well. Partof the research of deciding where you're going
to live is what you're going totolerate at certain levels of and here if
you move to Houston, it's nosecret. We do get hurricanes and tropical
storms, and we do get rainlike nobody's business. I mean, I

(01:07:19):
said three weeks without power after HurricaneAlicia. I'm still here. That was
nineteen eighty three. We get alot of humidity. We have the same
problems many big cities have. Noneof this is a surprise, you know,
yep. In the question crime, however, the crime is a bigger
issue for just about everybody. Butthat has to do more with I mean,

(01:07:41):
every major city in America is experiencingan uptick in crime and prosecutors that
don't want to prosecute because they're allbeing run by liberals. That's right by
progressives. I'm not even to sayliberals by progressives. So traffic, if
you all live in a big city, that's rudeness of the people who've moved
in. There's some truth to thattoo, Sheriff Fryar. Yep. I
mean no place is perfect, that'sfor sure, But as far as I'm

He says that it happened in somereaction for the folks at box. Before
we start this hour, Willie,I just wanted to briefly talk to our

(01:13:19):
We were told in no uncertain termson the Sunday evening that there was going
to be one newsfeed across all NBCNews channels yesterday that we were going to
stay as a network in breaking newsmode throughout all day yesterday. That did
not happen. I guess after therewas such a strong blowback about yesterday morning,

I guess they changed their plans. We were very surprised. We were
very disappointed. And if we hadknown that there wasn't going to be the

Okay, really, let me justget through this. Fox contributor Joe Conco,

Joe after Trump assassination attempt. WhatMSNBC appears to be saying is we simply
do not trust our most prominent fulltime hosts during this crucial moment in our
country's history. Your take, it'san admission that it's not just the Biden
team and the Democrats that have beenusing this un irresponsible, heated rhetoric.

(01:14:29):
It's the left wing media as well. They understood in the wake of the
Trump assassination. They understood that millionsof Americans saw what happened to Donald Trump
and said enough, enough, enough, it's gone too far. Okay,
we impeached him twice, we've beenninety one indictments, trying to sue him
in civil courts to bankrupt him,and all the rest of it, and

(01:14:51):
now an assassination attempt. At somepoint, it's enough. And I think
millions of Americans are looking at thisand saying, Okay, I'm ready to
give Donald Trump a second look.I don't like this media establishment, I
don't like this president. I'm notsold on Trump yet, but I'm willing
to look at him. He's gota chance for a second look, and
he's got to seize that on Thursday, so they didn't trust Morning Joe to

Oh my gosh, you have noidea what the pressure was like. In
fact, I was actually talking toa couple of members of Wisconsin's Republican delegation

(01:30:32):
and guys, I'm going to justbegin I'm a little horse right now.
You can imagine. I have beenworking and doing about one hundred interviews a

exactly that. On Sunday, wewere just kind of texting about the events
of the previous day, and hesaid, man, oh man, I

hope security is going to be allright. I hope that we're still able

the atmosphere down here has been oneof jubilation, of celebration. Of
course, the events and Saturday arestill top of mind, but that really
hasn't stopped the party. Yeah,I was noticing last night that I've been

didn't expect people to be so happy. No, because two days ago,

because there is such deep, abidingfaith in sort of a divine intervention here,
and there's a bit of a resolvemixed in with that joy that it's
time to finish the job, toget President Trump elected and to make sure
that this miracle is sort of aspringboard for doing the serious job of,

(01:32:24):
in the President's words, making Americagreat again. There is no tighter battleground
state than Wisconsin, and I'm justkind of wondering, between having the convention
there and the assassination attempt, howdoes that seem to be affecting the voters
in Wisconsin? Can you tell? Not? Right now? I mean,
Wisconsin essentially comes down to two cities. You guys have essentially a big three,

(01:32:45):
right Houston, Dallas, Austin thatare pretty much the largest vote drivers.
But because there's such a big state, all of the Republican areas just
are able to overwhelm those three bigDemocrat centers of turn out the vote.
Here in Wisconsin, we're a populationof about five point eight million people,
and the overwhelming majority of those livein two major Democratic areas, Milwaukee and

(01:33:11):
our capital city of Madison. Italways depends on what the voter turnout looks
like in Milwaukee and Madison. Ifthose two cities in their metro areas can
overwhelm the rest of a very republicanstate. Our legislature is overwhelmingly Republican,
then Democrats win statewide. If notRepublicans win. I think what you saw

(01:33:33):
last night the message of unity.Trump's former rivals Nicky Haley, Ron DeSantis,
Marco Rubio, even his vice presidentialrunning mate JD. Vance all were
very sharp critics of him, butall are coming over to support him and
to show this message of unity.Democrats, on the other hand, are

(01:33:55):
not unified. They're talking about openlyfor the past three weeks now replacing President
Biden on the ticket. That tendsto affect turnout if I had to guess
right now. The shooting on Saturday, as I said, steals the resolve
of Republicans. They're all going toturn out, where while Democrats are just

(01:34:16):
disunified there you know, it's notat all excited about this election, and
I think a lot of them believeit's already over. That translates into a
big turnout advantage, and in Wisconsinthat is one hundred percent the key.
Okay, that's going to be interestingto watch. Dan, Thanks for joining
us. We sure do appreciate it. Dan O'Donnell from WYSN and Milwaukee is

Here's Sheriff Fryars seven thirty one onnews Radio seven forty KTRH and our top
story this hour. But in Americansfirst must be what the selection is about.

(01:36:29):
A Senator from Florida, Marco Rubio, addressing the RNC, the theme
last night was to make America safeagain, something how speaker Mike Johnson says
the left really doesn't care about. They have a very different vision for what
America should become. They want totear down those foundations and remold us into

(01:36:54):
some sort of borderless, lawless Marxistsocialist utopia. The theme for today,
Day three in Milwaukee make America SafeAgain. Ohio Senator jd Vance will accept
the nomination for Vice president tonight onstage coverage on kt KTIRH dot com and
the iHeart Radio app. It beginsat seven pm. One of the other

(01:37:16):
speakers today is Trump attorney Alena Habba. Two days after a federal judge in
Florida, well a federal judge thatwould be Eileen Cannon, dismissed the mar
A Lago documents case, ruling theSpecial Council Jack Smith's appointment was unconstitutional,
so was his payment. It's embarrassingfor my profession what he did. And

(01:37:39):
I think that Merrick Garland and theBiden administration has become so desperate and sloppy
that these are falling one after another. Like Domino's haba with k t h's
Clay Travis and Bucks Sexton about thelaw fare cases against Donald Trump. Seven
thirty three is our time, moredisturbing details out about the attempted assassination of
Donald Trump and the secret Service failureto protect him. Fox News has learned

(01:38:04):
before the shooting, Raley Gower spotteda suspicious man with what appeared to be
binoculars or a rangefinder. Sources alsosay that same person was pacing around magnetometers
and the security barrier before the eventbegan. According to multiple different videos and
witness interviews, it was at leasteighty seconds from the time people alerted police

(01:38:26):
to the time the shooting began.David spot reporting there. The House Oversight
Committee is having a hearing on Mondayto question the director of the Secret Service
TIRA, including these DEI comments madeby Secret Service Director Kimberle Cheedle to CBS.
We need to attract diverse candidates andparticularly women. Tom Bulsh is a

(01:38:48):
former Secret Service agent who now livesin the Woodlands and is the owner of
the Saddle River Range. We haveto go back to some semblance of the
most qualified gets the position. Ifyou're the best at what you do,
you should be rewarded for it,and the former president should get rewarded by
having the best people for the job. Kimberly Cheatle, by the way,

(01:39:10):
was picked by Joe Biden in twentytwenty two Jeff Biggs News Radio seven forty
KYTRH. It's now seven thirty four. Mainstream media, they're not really getting
into it in great detail. Butbig news yesterday that New Jersey Democrat Senator
Bob Menindez was found guilty on allsixteen counts of bribery and corruption acting as

(01:39:34):
a foreign agent, almost for Egypt. Obviously, I'm deeply, deeply disappointed
by the jury's decision. I haveevery faith that the law and the facts
did not sustain that decision, andthat we will be successful upon appeal.
Kind of hard to have detail, not the way they handled Donald Trump.

(01:39:56):
Mendez. Menindez now has new callsto resign from Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer
and some other Democrats. Seven thirtyfive is our time. Centerpoint still has
not restored power for about fifty fourthousand customers in our area, ten days
now already without air conditioning in thisheat alignment. Who was in Galveston working

(01:40:18):
to restore power has been arrested chargewith beating up another alignment that victim and
critical condition. At last check,we're finding also that newly constructed be Cholmes
in Galveston. Actually we're better atholding up to Hurricane Beryl than older homes.
It was essentially a practice run ofsome new and improved building codes.

(01:40:39):
They put in windload codes. Theyput in all these new codes to strengthen
the structures to make and withstand thewins. Jim Dudden of the Texas Home
Improvement Show says retrofitting these codes ascostly and while these codes are a good
idea, it comes with consequences. All this advancement and these extra things that
we do to make the house isstronger also add to the cost of it.

(01:41:01):
So it's a give and take. This is the best thing to do
in an older home is leave whena storm hits. Moderree Perard News Ordio

is reporting that Americans over the ageof fifty five control nearly seventy percent of
American household wealth, not a surpriseto economists fan skin when you get older,

(01:41:25):
you ty typically have more wealth, and especially when it comes to housing,
and housing prices have sored over thelast few years, making it better
off for many of those who areboomers and part of the Boomer generation older,
though than a retiree. Yeah. The seventy percent number is an increase
from fifty percent just back in nineteeneighty nine. Older Americans also amount to

(01:41:46):
the account for forty five percent oftotal US spending. White House claims the
economy is doing well, but thirtysix percent of Americans say they need side
hustles in order to make ends meet. I thought we would see more passion
project side hustlers, but for themost part, people are doing this because

(01:42:08):
they have to, not because theynecessarily want to staying at work longer too
into their age bank rates. TedRossman says we're going to see more of
this because of this economy brought tous by the left. I'm sure.
Fryar on news radio seven forty kTRH, did your favorite summer beverage for

Jimmy Barrett and Sheriff Fryar explain it. Now back to Houston's morning News.
I said earlier this morning, ifyou missed it, that I've found

Her name is Mette and brain. She was there to talk about crime and
her son who had been in themilitary and did tours of duty and came
back safe but became a victim ofcrime. Here she is. She gave
a very powerful speech. Last light. Here's a little bit of that.

(01:43:11):
My son, Sergeant Hassan Korea andAfghanistan War, retired veteran. He received
enemy fire from the Talibans, onlyto be murdered with a knife on the
streets of New York City. Thefour assailants responsible for his death initially were

(01:43:36):
facing justice, but that changed whenDistrict Attorney Alvin Bragg was elected. Suddenly,
two of the homicidal maniacs responsible formy son's death had their gang assault

(01:44:01):
and murder charges completely dismissed. Oneof them received fourteen months time served.
Alvin Bragg charged her with assault witha shoe, and another one was sentenced

(01:44:25):
to seven years. I later learnedAlvin Bragg often dismisses and reduces dangerous criminals.
He wants to clear the jails andreturn Jock Violet Fellonis onto our streets
every day. The injustice was devastatingfor me in my family. I don't

(01:44:48):
want anyone else to experience the sensewith pain that many other victims across the
United States of America have to livewith every day. So I decided to
use the voice that God gave meto be the voice from the voiceless across

(01:45:09):
America. You know, she's doinga great job of it. She went
out on a high tone of callingfor justice. It was just stunning,
it really was. I thought theentire evening was and very effective to use

certainly the Republican National Convention is oneof unity for the party, But as
far as unity for the country, well that's kind of up to the Democrats,

(01:49:10):
isn't that joining us to talk about? Is vled Davidia political consultant,
extraordinary political analyst. Lad. Theyall quieted down there for about twenty four
hours after the assassination attempt. Hedidn't last very long, did it,
No, not at all. It'sit's the nature of the radical left to
constantly beyond the attack, and theykind of cock seems like they got a

(01:49:31):
little bit caught off guard by thereaction and they freaked out because they're worried
that the blame is going to beshifting to them. So yeah, they
quiteted, have sled down just abit, but it ramped right back up
as soon as the RNC convention started. Yeah, they pulled Joe Scarborough's show
for one day and then it's backthe very next I mean, and the

(01:49:51):
assaults are coming. Biden's out therelike crazy, uh, spouting more lies.
You know. The the whole thingjust stinks. As far as I'm
concerned. Yeah. No, whatwe've seen for years is as the Democrats
who have been speaking loudest about unityare the people who are most responsible for

(01:50:12):
the for the divisive rhetoric, theviolence, the animosity, and the division
within America. They did this, they inspired this. The only one,
the only possible outcomes of the rhetoricthat they've been using for years is violence
and murder. And that's exactly whatwe saw on Saturday when it happened.
They quickly backed off because they knewthat they're responsible, and they're trying to

(01:50:38):
avoid the blame, but there's noway for them to get their fingerprints off
of that. George Stephanopolis is blamingTrump and Trump's rhetoric for causing all of
these problems. If you're the Republicans, how do you play this? Look,
it's simple fact of the matter thatAmericans remember what happened. Americans remember
that BLM and Antifa burned down cities, churches and killed cops. They understand

(01:51:02):
that the violent anarchists in Seattle destroyedcourthouses and actually that closed off city blocks,
holding people hostage. They understand thatthe violence that was visited upon our
cities, the violence that's being visitedin our cities right now with with people
being targeted because they refuse to goalong with the radical agenda. It's something

(01:51:25):
that is endemic and identified by theleft. And what Republicans are offering now
is an alternative, is a unifyingmessage based on the principles and values that
we hold there and it's a sharpcontrast. And more Americans are coming on
board every single day. And DonaldTrump with his running mate, will be
holding another rally this Saturday in Michigan. That's what needs to happen. It

(01:51:48):
needs to be a rejection of theviolence needs to be present every single time.
Bravery and courage do not hide. They shine their face for all to
see so people can rally to thatflag. What the left hopes is for
people to be to cower and befearful, and the only solution is to

(01:52:10):
come forward and be brave. Well, nothing says courage like making an appearance
at a rally one week after anassassination attempt at rally. Glad always good
to talk to you, sir,Thank you. That is political ennalyst Glad
da Vidyak. Listen, you allhave a great day. We'll see you
tomorrow morning. Bright and early atfour or five AM, pardon me,
