Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, Well, it's not going to be in the
city of Detroit. Bas gonna be awfully close Macobe County
joinning us to talk about the day one hundred of
the Trump administration. Representative Wesley Hunt, Congressman from the thirty
eighth district here in Texas. Congressman, welcome to the show.
Glad to have you back here. Before we talk about
the rally, which I'm sure is going to be, well,
let's talk about why you think. Why do you think
(00:20):
he's going to Michigan. Why why pick the Detroit area
in order to celebrate your first one hundred days. Has
it got anything to do with the announcement yesterday in
auto tariffs?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
I do believe so.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
And also you keep in mind at Michigan is home
of the middle class worker, that is home of the
blue collar worker. And what President Something has done for
the past one hundred days is try his best to
bolter up the middle class of this country that has
been forgotten. And quite frankly, it's the middle class of
this country that elected him and made him the forty
seventh president.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
So by going to.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Macobe County in Michigan, really, really what he's doing is
he is dog listening to the world that he's going
to take it a fight for us, to take it
a fight for the middle class. And also what's really
interesting too is my West Point classmate John James is
running for governor of Michigan too, so my guess is
he will be there as well supporting the president. But again,
this is the double down on what he has done
(01:13):
the past one hundred days and has focused on the
people that got him elected and that the middle class.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Blue collar worker that wants him to deliver for America.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
All right, representive, hon if you had to pick one
or two things that really stand out to you that
the President is accomplished in this first one hundred days,
what would they be.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Well, there's more than one or two things.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
I mean, the border is now secure, gas presses are dropping,
inflation is dropping, American energy is released, which is great
for Houston, Texas. There are no longer no longer are
men allowed to compete against women in sports. I had
the honor of actually being in the White House when
he signed that executive orner.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
And of course he's standing up from the American worker.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
I called this promises, made promises. Capt This is exactly
what the people of this country voted for and he
has delivered in this first one hundred days.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Okay, now, what can you do for President Trump? How
about that big, beautiful budget bill? How long before we
see that get passed.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
What the bottom line is is this.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
I think we are all in on ensuring that this
bill gets passed, especially in the House and Representatives. Keep
in mind, we have now passed two co king and
winning resolutions. We were able to pass the budget out
of the House a couple of weeks ago before we
took recess. And again we're doing all of this with
a two seat majority. So we are now on the
path of ensuring that President Trump has the leverage he needs.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
To get this bill done. And now it's going to
be up to the Senate.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
And I guarantee you that this is going to work
because nobody wants to defy the President going into the midterms.
And the reason why we also have to have this
bill is so confidence not just to America, but no
confidence to the entire world that we are competent. We
are here, we are written the leaf in the front.
We will mention that we have a very strong economy
going into the midterms next year.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Yeah, that's for sure, because America, unfortunately, though many of
us can see what's going to happen before it happens,
thanks to Trump's policies, there's a lot of Americans out
they're unfortunately who can't. You know, they live for the moment.
They don't think about what could be happening or what
will be happening six months or a couple of years
down the road. Congressman, thank you for joining us me
this morning. We appreciate it. That is Texas Congressman Wesley
