Speaker 3 (07:25):
Allergies if you are allergic to tree? Pollen this is
this is not the place to be right, now because
we got a ton of tree, pollen, pine pine tree,
pollen oak tree. POLLEN i DON'T i don't Think i'm
allergic to. IT i, GET i GET i get a little,
Stuffy but BUT i don't think it's you, know if

(07:45):
it's an allergic it's not a severe allergic, reaction let's
put it that. Way BUT i think we all get
a little, stuffy even those of us who aren't allergic
certain times of the year when certain, things you, know
bloom or or come. Out and because we have so much,
pollen and this year it feels like it's worse than

(08:07):
it's been in the last few, years just the level of.
POLLEN i, MEAN i. Try i've tried to keep my truck.
CLEAN i cannot keep my truck. CLEAN i. TRIED i
cannot rinse that stuff off with a. Hose i've taken
a hose with a really really good spray on, it

(08:27):
and it still doesn't want to all come, off you.
Know but the only cure for, THIS i guess is
a car. Wash but it turns out as bad as
we have a tendency to think it is that we
are far from the worst place for seasonal, allergies at
least according to The asthma And Allergy foundation Of. America
they release a list every year of the worst cities for.

(08:49):
Allergies here is the list in reverse. Order number, Ten,
Greensboro North, carolina number, Nine, Greensville South, carolina number, Eight, Richmond.
Virginia they traditionally are on that list every, Year i've
seen it more towards number one in the. Past, Raleigh North,
carolina came in, Seventh Little, Rock, arkansas, Sixth, Memphis tennessee was.

(09:13):
Fifth it's Also oklahoma, Fourth Oklahoma, City, oklahoma, Third New
orleans came in, second And, Wichita, kansas came in. First
this is the second year in a row they've been
at the top of the list for having being the
worst city if you suffer from. Allergies according to the
fourth of the city had worse than average tree in grass,
pollen worse than average allergy medication. Use so evidently they

(09:38):
keep track of all, right who's buying the over the
counter drugs to try to counteract the allergy and didn't
put that into the component here as part of the
reason why they made number one on the list and
worse than average board certified allergists and immunologists to help
treat those with. Allergies in other, words they've got more
a lot more than your average amount of people who
are in the allergy business to treat. It five Ten

Speaker 28 (24:37):
Mexico according to THE, usda prices last week for a
dozen grade a large eggs averaged just over five, dollars
three dollars less than previous.

Speaker 29 (24:45):
Weeks our high prices really encourage things like that to, happen,
Right so you have high prices in your next to

find them cheaper you're going to get.

Speaker 28 (24:55):

have their vehicles in there to get, fixed and somebody
showed up dressed all in. BLACK i mean they got.
Cameras they probably did a very good job of disguising.
Themselves i'm sure that you know these are professional arsonists
employed by the far. Left, uh you know environmentalists, are
although that would be that would be, ironic would it

(26:44):
not if any of these people are environmental. PROTESTERS i
never understand environmental protesters when they set fire to, things
because when things, burn it kind of puts out a
lot of. Pollution plus they're they're setting fire to an electric,
vaal which supposedly they support for environmental, reasons but evidently

(27:06):
they Hate Elon musk more than anything. Else, Well kevin,
O'Leary who is very much a, businessman sees these people
as terrorists and he thinks they should be treated as.

Such first of, all like most people that are watching
both sides of, THIS i would like to see the law.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Upheld arson is a.

Speaker 30 (27:25):
Crime you should go to jail for. That there's cameras
all over those. Lots the cars themselves have cameras that
record what happens to, you AND i think they should
be persecuted relentlessly for what they're, doing because loss of
property is one of the laws we support in. Hympocracy
it doesn't matter what party you're. On AND i, thought you,
know most people would look at that and, Say i'm

realize what's really going on. Here this guy is An american,
Hero he's an incredible entrepreneur of great executional. Skills and
everybody burns his. Cars i'd like to see them in

Speaker 3 (28:39):
Terrorists, yeah, well no doubt about. It and that's not
the only, punishment by the, way that's being executed Towards

the windiest conditions today are going to be along the.

Speaker 18 (31:10):
Coast that's where we've got the wind.

Speaker 17 (31:12):
Advisory through the morning, hours the wind should ease up
a little. Bit here's the, problem, Though we've got some
gusty winds and very low, humidity and so if a
fire was to, start it would be very easy for
it to get out of, control and that's why we
have the red flag. Warning it would be difficult to
contain these fires under these, conditions especially with the low.

Speaker 18 (31:33):

almost eight years, now love. IT i get angry with
myself on a weekly basis that it took me so
long to get here for goodness, sakes But i'm Glad i'm.
Here chuck de vorr is also whethers he's with The
Texas Public Policy. Foundation we are among the fastest growing

(35:00):
areas in the entire. Country chuck, THAT i guess that
doesn't really come as a. Surprise you, know it, doesn't
and and there's some good things about, that but there's
also some bad things about, that because we don't always
do a great, job especially with, infrastructure on keeping up
with population. Growth how long before you think we run
into some problems because of, That, well it all.

Speaker 32 (35:22):
Depends on the nature of the growth and how quickly
that happens and the. Location so you, know the infrastructure
is a broad, topic, RIGHT i mean that includes roads
and includes water water, treatment which is always can be
difficult and. Expensive but you, know it's always better to
have the problem of growth than the problem of you,

(35:43):
know contraction or de growth because that, place of course
havoc with schools and tax bass and everything.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
Else so it's a good problem to. Have, well and
you mentioned you mentioned. SCHOOLS i, mean that's that's an
expensive problem to have because we're constantly building new schools
and filling them, up in having to build more new
schools and filling them. Up and it's not a cheap.

Speaker 32 (36:03):
Proposition, well it's not a cheap, proposition and especially the
way we do it. NOW i, mean if you look
At american education in, general And texas is just not
an exception for. This, unfortunately you find that administrative costs just,
skyrocketed whereas the number of teachers that has gone compared

(36:23):
to students really has been fairly. Static in other, words
we're spending a lot of money on things that don't
actually teach. Children and of, course In texas we're known
for our fairly opulent school campuses and especially sports. Facilities so,
YEAH i, mean the growing pains are, tough but, again
it's a good problem to. Have and one of the

(36:44):
reasons why we're having, it of, course is that the business.
CLIMATE i, mean you, know you look at the headlines
from just a year, Ago chevron relocated its headquarters To,
houston and that was the twenty Fourth fortune five hundred
company to establish its Headquarters. Houston and of course that
comes with.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
Growth. Yeah the other thing that's, growing which also is
a bit of a problem is. Government even here In,
texas government continues to. Grow and for those of us
who are small government AND i consider you one of those,
people small government, types that can be a little bit.
Alarming And i'm not just talking about state. Government i'm
talking about local, government Including Harris county, government which continues

(37:25):
to grow an alarming rate in the city Of houston
and to the point where they're operating under a.

Speaker 32 (37:29):
Deficit, yeah and that is something That i've been following
for a. While there's something that only those of us
that think tanks could really. Love it's called The census
Of governments and it's something that THE Us census does
and they publish this report, generally it's not an every
other year's. Cycle and what you see is That texas

(37:50):
is more decentralized and it's spending than a place Like,
california WHERE i came from thirteen years. Ago and over
half of the public's spending In texas happens at the local.
Level In, california it's well over half at the state.
Level and so then you drill down a little more
and you, Say, okay how's that spending going compared to

(38:12):
the population growth and inflation at the local. Level and
what you find is that local government In, texas as you,
suspected is growing faster than the rate of inflation and population,
growth and, sadly it's growing faster than out In. California
now at the state, level it's. Reversed right the state,

(38:32):
level you see that our state lawmakers are doing a
relatively decent, job and of course compared To california where
they're more profligate. Svendors but when you think about, it
if most of the spending In texas happens at the
state level or partly at the local, level not the state,
level then it looks like we need to do something
to maybe restrain local.

Speaker 3 (38:52):
Spending, yep these are said than. Done BUT i think you're.
Right there are those who think that we will be
at least the third large, city maybe the second largest
city BY i want to, say like twenty forty or twenty.
Fifty you think that's. Reality you think that's going to.

Speaker 32 (39:06):
Happen, YEAH i certainly, Do and at the very, least of,
course you, know there's the largest city and then there's
of course largest. Metroplex so you, Know Dallas Fort worth
is a little larger Than houston from a metroplex, standpoint
at least it was the last TIME i. Looked but
in so far as a, city, Yeah houston still got

(39:26):
a lot of room to. Grow and you look at
places Like chicago And Los, angeles their growth is pretty much.

Speaker 3 (39:33):

(46:51):
YOU know i didn't have kids WITH, H adhd, SO
yeah i really can't relate to it as far as
you know what it does. TO people i know it,
exists clearly but by these stories, LIKE this i have
to worry just a. Little bit the story says that
prescriptions FOR eighty hd medications have been spiking in, recent

(47:13):
years with the sharpest increase among middle aged and, older women.
Not kids. Middle aged in, older women according to a,
new study they're also the least likely to misuse the.
Prescription stimulants like, anything else they can be become addictive and.
Be misused about twenty five percent, of people by, the

(47:35):
way with PRESCRIPTIONS for, adhd medications it meant that they.
Misused them about nine percent had what they called either
a disorder or addiction to. The medication the rise, among
women though this is interesting thirty five to, sixty four has.
Been substantial at the end of twenty, twenty two to
one point seven million women in this age group were

(47:55):
prescribed adderall and RIDDLING, for adhd compared to one point
two million prescriptions in. Twenty nineteen my guess is that
some of it has to do with just the general
idea that these these are probably people THAT had adhd
their entire lives to just now being diagnosed. With it
i'm sure that's part. Of it but the part of

(48:17):
me that always is concerned about this is just the
OVER prescription i believe of medications. In general it seems
we live in a society where everybody feels like they
need to have a medication for whatever it is that
they deem is a problem in, their life that there's
a pill you can take, for it which of course
is not always. The case Six' ten time for traffic.

Speaker 17 (50:50):
It's that combination it's not so much the winds in,
and of themselves because they're going to be in the
ten to fifteen mile an hour range most. Of the
day we'll see gusts as high as twenty five, Miles
per hour so that by itself. Isn't the problem it's
that combination of gusty winds. And low humidity humidity is
going to be quite low today, in the teens, like you,

Ways are round houston next on the ten on seven forty,
ktrhing pretty so yeah kind of, the, opposite of that
right we need a new version of, this, six twenty
three Sir Time Here. In houston's, morning news All, right so,
the fed as expected left. Interest rates alone yesterday, WHAT
was more interesting i think Is probably what j powell

(54:32):
had to say afterwards, at the press conference and because
the topic, of tarriffs came up and it's been interesting
to watch how people have interpreted what. He said about
tariffs some interpreted his comments on, tariffs is, saying that
you know we don't believe there'll. Be any immediate impact
we have to wait and see what, happens WITH the
tariffs which i think. Is the right answer and there

(54:55):
are those who are interpreting into the same see tariffs are.
Going TO CAUSE inflation so i i guess it depends
a little bit on what. You want to hear let's
Let's Find out what. Joel griffith Heard Yesterday he's a
Senior fellow. And advancing american freedom what Do You think.
THAT jay paw was i know he's trying always to
kind of thread the needle when it comes to comments
on what's going. On with interest rates what did you
make of what he? Had, to, say yesterday.

Speaker 35 (55:17):
Yeah well good morning well you. There Are, two Things
number one the fed releases a written statement after. EACH
rate hype decision i think it was quite Interesting to
see the fed is now predicting LOWER, economic growth than TRIER,
higher inflation. Than trier higher unemployment. These are not, positives

(55:39):
And In, fact the chair pale, during his oral remarks
said that there's an unusually high level of, economic uncertainty
in general and part of that is because of the
Erratic Tariff, policies from president trump where you'll see him
put in place an executive order, and posing new tariffs

(56:01):
and the. Sometimes he backs, down the other day after
imposing twenty five percent tariffs On a, number of canadian
products he threatened to double that tariff rate and then back.
Down with an hour so there's a. Lot of Uncertainty
here and what power is trying to say is that
they want to see how everything plays out because a

(56:24):
lot of these. Threats they don't materialize. Some OF them
do so i think it's unfortunate that we continue to
see this administration play. Games, with our economy.

Speaker 3 (56:34):
Basically on the, tariff it's called negotiation, is what it's
called and. It's been, highly effective you know you can
threaten anything you want as far as what you're going.
To do with tariffs if the end result is the
other side blinks and decides that they're going to change
their trade, policies to your advantage then guess what you. Just,
WON the negotiation.

Speaker 35 (56:55):
Well i know the president some of his advocates continue
to say, this IS a negotiation but i think We
Should actually take president. Trump At his word president. Trump
believes in tariffs he believes that tariffs, will actually create
jobs will. Will enhance our economy, And But guess what
president trump, is.

Speaker 16 (57:16):
Wrong on this.

Speaker 35 (57:17):
COMPLETELY wrong, ON this, I.

Speaker 3 (57:19):
Think i think. I think you're wrong i think. You're Wrong,
On this joel griffith time will tell, who's right about,
this but we. Will, certainly, won't we well look we.

Speaker 35 (57:31):
Have a, lot of economic data a lot of past
issues from ourk countries and others to show. Us what
tears do we actually went through higher Tariffs in the
Prior trump administration that. Biden kept in place and guess
what when we had those tariffs.

Speaker 3 (57:45):
And pose on, the aluminum one deal and Guess what
we number we. Didn't have inflation issue we didn't have
inflation Issues during. The first trump administration we only Had them.
During the biden administration and it's not because of the terrorists.

gas not Only For, consumption in the united states. But also,

(01:06:17):
for consumption overseas you know. We're an export of this
and For a while there the biden administration was just,
shut the whole thing down and they claimed that they were. Doing,
it for environmental reasons well so it turns out there
was a study that was released And then buried by
the biden administration showing that there weren't Greenhouse gas effects

caused by. American liquid natural gas program The study contradicted
everything the bide, administration was saying about it so, rather
than change their. Policy they BURIED The study Here Is

Speaker 36 (01:07:02):
Oh extremely disappointed.

Speaker 38 (01:07:04):
To see, what was, DONE in fact last night i
was just reading the Original report Prepared by the department
of energy in twenty twenty three that Clearly showed it
was AN american's, interest to grow lng exports, it wouldn't impact,
domestic prices and in fact it.

Speaker 36 (01:07:20):
Would lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Speaker 38 (01:07:22):
That's what The report said but the biden administration had
this all of, government approach against climate change which clearly,
wasn't really about climate change or they would have supported
things that were going to, drive down greenhouse gas emissions,
but for their Political Interests or maybe the Jane Fonda
TikTok on the cameron parish lng terminal that was trying

(01:07:43):
to get approved in direct contrast to. The results of
THAT study they initiated the lng pause after that study.

Speaker 20 (01:32:45):
You know there's there, are some people centered who was trash.
Fire some people who said, that.

Speaker 16 (01:32:49):
It was, to be honest with you at this point.

Speaker 20 (01:32:53):
We'll FIGURE that out once it's all over.

Speaker 6 (01:32:56):
But i.

Speaker 20 (01:32:56):
Got to tell you it was it hit it. GOT
very quickly to about thirteen hundred acres. I left there
about one o'clock last night, i'll be back there in
a few minutes and now. It's, up the two thousand acres,
only contained yeah so the good news though is that
we there, was an Evacuation Of about nine hundred homes
Both In. San diracino and in uh in montgovernment, county

(01:33:19):
but there was, no damage to structures. No loss in
life fill loss of animals.

Speaker 35 (01:33:24):
All, of our.

Speaker 20 (01:33:24):
Assets are there and.

Speaker 16 (01:33:25):
Prepared well that's good.

Speaker 3 (01:33:27):
That, is good news that's a. Good, news yeah there's
good news For now anyway We Know we're gonna have we're. Gonna,
have gusty wins here d drop out okay try to
try to. Re establish Contact with him if you, can
i'm guessing i'm guessing wherever he is he might not.
Be in a very good Sell Cell situation but we'll. Try,
to get judge. Keoh back on here, yeah that's great

(01:33:50):
news at least so far we don't. Need, to hear a.
Ringing on, the air marco take that down let's uh
let's take a look. At this nine hundred homes in
the way but so far we don't have any. Structure
damages or any homes. That are damaged and that is.
Good news but we got the judge back i'm guessing
you're not probably not in the best. Place for cell.
Phone service at the moment judge let. Me let me

(01:34:11):
ask you about the winds. It is supposed to be
windy again today not as bad today ten to fifteen.
With occasional twenty five miles for our gusts but it's
going to be, windy here all the way through the
weekend and. The winds are COMING out of, the north
and from what I, can tell, the population centers such
as conroe for example are obviously. Our south or where
this fire is burning are there any concerns that the

(01:34:32):
fire could? Head towards, more populous areas.

Speaker 20 (01:34:36):
At this point you know it's it's been, moving south
and east in, MAJOR forest areas but as a continuous
south i mean. There are population areas that could be
affected we don't want to put a, bunch OF bear,
into people we've already evacuated as, i mentioned about nine hundred.
Homes and so but we're watching very close advantage we

(01:34:58):
have this morning that we. Did not have have all
night last night. We're going to have air assets out
there some people have asked about these, Various one thirties
and what not these bankers well you're going to, see
THAT all over the place here today and, i think,
that will help us tremendously well.

Speaker 3 (01:35:13):
Of course the idea here. Is to try to catch
up on this you mentioned. It's, about ten percent contained
at this point obviously a nice steady rain would probably
be one of. The best things that could happen for.
You but there's no rain in the. Forecast, there's not
a cloud in the? Sky yeah what's what's the plan
going forward how many how many different fire departments? Do

(01:35:35):
you have working on this right now i'm guessing you're
getting A lot. Of support from in the entire Houston
Area we.

little surprised, To see this i mean by, The, way
i'm not asking to be. ALONE honey don't let, Anything.
Happen to you i ENJOY your company, ELIZABETH but but
but when i. Am alone, I do enjoy that as
well so. Listen i'm, responding here to this happiness report

(01:45:40):
you KNOW We never. Ranked very high on the un
Happiness List that's. Who Compiled This as a united nations study.
The united states fell to twenty fourth place they. Blamed
it on, A couple of different things by the way.
AFGHANISTAN remained the unhappiest country in the world i can.

(01:46:04):
Certainly BELIEVE that, we fell the twenty fourth as i
said the highest, we ever got for happiness was number
eleven way back. In twenty twelve when they started this
thing here's what. They had to say about the alone
factor The Number of people dining alone in the united
states has increased. Fifty three percent over the last twenty

(01:46:24):
years the authors noted that. Sharing meals is strongly, linked
with well being In twenty twenty three roughly one in
four americans reported eating. All of their meals alone the
previous day the increasing number of people who eat alone
is One Reason. For declining well being in the united
states they also noted that we were one of the

(01:46:44):
few countries to see a rise of so called deaths
of despair from suicide or substance abuse at a time
when those. Deaths are declining in the majority of countries
so we have a, higher than normal suicide rate for
whatever reason we have a still increasing substance abuse rate

(01:47:06):
that certainly can have a. Little something to do with
that as well and people who are alone. Seven forty
time for traffic and, weather together picky, now in my
golden ears more pick more picky about the company you. Keep,
a little bit in the old days well thank you.

Trump what happens next who Knows what happens best Happens,
here On youth radio seven forty k.

Speaker 3 (01:52:11):
Well the trump administration kind of gave, that message to
at least some federal workers and. Of course activist judges
are now Getting involved we Have a judge out in
california ordering the trump administration, to reinstate probationary employees fired
At six agencies, saying the firing is. And i'm, Quoting,
now based on a lie say. What Yeah the JUSTICE

(01:52:34):
Based on a lie. Robert vermando joins us americans for
limited government what in the world? Does this guy mean
based on a. Lie what's the lie, that it's based
on you're a probationary worker that by nature means that
you can.

Speaker 10 (01:52:48):
Be.

Speaker 3 (01:52:48):
Fired, At any time for any reason right yes, for about.

Speaker 39 (01:52:53):
The first year of federal service you are on a
PROBATIONARY Period and that's under federal, law five Us coast
three three two one where the president can. Prescribe regulations
to do with the probationary period and under, the current
regulation it lasts about a, year and you can be
fired if quote the employee fails to demonstrate. Fully his

(01:53:13):
or her qualifications for continued employment and that is a
discretionary decision by. The managers at the department and or.
Agency and you know these are not layoffs this is
this is people who are have. Been determined to be
unqualified for whatever reason and that is a political question
with which the agency head or department head has the discretion,

(01:53:36):
to make in accordance with the president's regulation which. Has
been in Place For years and years it's only when
president trump actually enforces laws that have been on the,
books for decades or in some cases centuries that suddenly
we have to go through. An administrative review process at
the federal courts and that's. Not the way things were
supposed to work, we're supposed to have the separation of

(01:53:56):
powers and that is being violated right now, by basically
WHERE the judge has gone wild or. What, i, like,
to call the imperial judiciary.

Speaker 3 (01:54:04):
Yeah well yeah we. Have a lot of activist judges
Out There. This was the decision in the ninth circuit
there's no There's No. More liberal court system than The.
Ninth circuit this judge is Out in california we have
another judge in. Maryland MAKING a similar sort of ruling
here so i guess you just if, you're if you're
the union, in this case the union, representing government employees

(01:54:25):
you just judge shop right you find you find, the
right place to put your request in and then. You,
you get the results that you want now what is
supposed to the goal of this, IS because at the
end of the day i Would think at some point in.
Time the trump administration wins on this issue is the
goal here to try to obviously delay these these firings

(01:54:46):
so that it gets to the, point where these employees
are technically, still employed they get past their probationary period
and therefore. YOU can no longer get rid of them.

Speaker 39 (01:54:55):
I think that there's certainly a. Delaying tactic that is
being a cur here i'm uncertain of how the what
would happen to? The probationary period in lieu of the litigation.
Does that get paused or something like that they could
be there, trying to run out the clock on, it
and on a lot Of other stuff which is to
say that trump's in his second term and so just

(01:55:17):
throw as much stung at the. Wall and see what
sticks as he can and They're Going to analyze every
single decision that president trump is. Making right now and
his Departments And agencies so it's just gonna the, JUSTICE department's,
going to be very, very busy i think defending. All these,
Actions not because they're bad. Action in fact, trump is
not acting arbitrarily he is acting as we see. In

(01:55:38):
this case in accordance with the law When You Look, at,
the Removals Under The alien enemy act Well, the alien
enemy act was enacted by congress and you can go
on down the line that every single one of the actions,
that are being taken under these, executive orders whether, it's
getting rid of diversity equity and inclusion which is enforcing the,

(01:55:59):
civil rights, fact which has been in, PLACE you know, for,
over fifty years now i THINK that yeah we're in
a situation where i think that these judges don't want the,
president to be able to enforce the law and, they're,
commandeering even the commander in chief powers yeah to say
that they can't decide what. Medical conditions are disqualifying in

(01:56:24):
the military service Are They kidding they're going to create a,
fifth amendment protection for people with. DYSLEXIA too or someone
who's got. Multiple, PERSONALITIES i don't, think that's really wise
no i know neither but. That's the direction we're going.

Speaker 3 (01:56:38):
In, right now it sure seems that. WAVE robert thanks,
For Coming On the Program I. Appreciate that robert, romano
Americans for limited government by the way the president today
Supposedly Is going to officially right off the education department.
So get ready for that. Lawsuit coming shortly y'all have
