Good morning, It's Monday morning. Jimmy Barrett. Here, it's time

was that a hunting stand or was it a sniper's layer?
Whatever you want to call it, Well, all of these
protests eventually lead to bloodshed and coming up at five oweight,
the USPS raising prices again, just in time for the holidays.

Here.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
We've got sixty nine Southwest Freeway at two. There's about
four different pieces of merging going on here.

But sixty nine northbound Southwest Freeway where we merge out
to go to the Cleveland exit, I've got somebody in

Good morning five oh one on news Radio seven forty
k TRH.

Speaker 7 (01:45):
Our top story this hour.

Speaker 6 (01:46):
A potential threat to the safety of President Trump discovered
in Florida. Fox's Ashley Stromyer has details the.

Speaker 8 (01:53):
Secret Services stepping up security at Palm Beach International Airport.
This comes after an apparent hunting stand with direction site
lines to Air Force one was found in a nearby tree.
President Trump boarded his plane on a smaller staircase as
a precaution. Officials say. Air Force One does not normally
park in that area, but has been.

Speaker 5 (02:12):
Due to construction.

Speaker 8 (02:13):
Airport is located near President Trump's golf club that's the
site of last year's attempted assassination on his.

Speaker 6 (02:20):
Life, and discovery follows the conviction of a man who
tried to assassinate Trump from a sniper's perch on a
Palm Beach golf course just a week ago. Demonstrators are
around the country took to the streets Saturday for the
No King's protest, defying President Trump. House speaker Mike Johnson,
joining ABC's This Week, calling it hate America protests.

Speaker 9 (02:39):
We have video and photos of pretty violent rhetoric calling
out the President, saying fascists must die and all the rest.
I mean, I don't think that's loving speech. I don't
think that's friendly speech, and I don't think it's pro
American to say those kinds of things.

Speaker 6 (02:52):
Saturday was the second time since the President returned to
the White House that the No King's rallies have taken
place nationwide. Dozens were arrested in minute different cities across
the country this weekend after bar protests across the country
borders our Tom Holman is once again warning about dangers
of escalating anti ICE rhetoric, which is getting more common now.

Speaker 10 (03:12):
Holman says this rhetoric could lead to even more of
the violence we've already seen.

Speaker 11 (03:16):
We've already had ICE officers targeted. Of course, water patrols
out there helping. It's only a matter of time before
one of us gets shot and killed or assaulted and killed.

Speaker 10 (03:24):
Terroll County Sheriff that East Cleveland says, these radical leftists
are just making things worse.

Speaker 11 (03:29):
The dan archists are creating a situation that are putting
law enforcement at risk. They're putting those who may be
in custody at risk, and they're putting in its in
Americans at risk.

Speaker 10 (03:37):
He says leftist rhetoric against ICE agents who are doing
their job inside the law is just fueling the political fire.
Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KRH.

Speaker 6 (03:45):
The government shut down drags on after lawmakers once again
failed to reach a deal. Florida's Anapaulina Luna says it's
not just federal employees feeling the pain. Families are also
missing out on vital support too.

Speaker 12 (03:57):
It's not just the military, but also the Women, Infant,
and Children Program is actually set to run out of
money also to mid November, so they're definitely playing games
with people's lives here, and it's strictly just political messaging.

Speaker 6 (04:11):
Republicans say the fix is a simple one, a clean
funding bill. I do study shows almost seventy percent of
Americans say they don't want to discuss politics at the workplace.
When you consider how high the political temperature is these days,
it's really not a surprise.

Speaker 11 (04:26):
Many years ago, it was easy for employees to have
disagreements about politics, but there was a common civility. The
current political environment, where things have become so contentious, it
can be hard to have these disagreements with coworkers.

Speaker 6 (04:39):
Workplace culture expert Joshua Evans says it's easier these days
for employees to just avoid politics altogether rather than deal
with the tension that political disagreements bring. And, of course,
while Republicans press the compromise, speaking of Board Air Force
one Sunday, President Trump said he supports healthcare reform, but
not the Democrats version.

Speaker 13 (05:00):
They'll be no money given toward their crazy escalation of
giving money to illegal alias that came into the country
totally illegally.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
I mean they came in illegally.

Speaker 13 (05:12):
They want to spend one point five trillion with the.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
T Senator John Thune says he'll push a bill this
week to make sure federal workers and troops get paid
during the shutdown, which is down.

Speaker 7 (05:23):
It's the third longest in US history.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
Agency that oversees the US nuclear stockpile, it's sent to
furlough most of its staff today because of the government
shut down. The National Nuclear Security Administration plans to send
notices to fourteen hundred employees, leaving around four hundred people
to guard the stockpile.

Speaker 7 (05:41):
Kt Ring News Time five five.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
The Social Security Administration announcing the twenty twenty six cost
of Living Adjustment will be published October twenty fourth. Americans
rely on those benefits that still have many questions amid
the government shut down. The economist Hank Lewis says it's
a step in the right direction, but he fears that
corporations could have an adverse reaction.

Speaker 14 (06:03):
People that are employing are not employing, people planning for
layoffs are planning for expansion. Uncertainty makes them think negatively,
and it makes things moved now in a negative fashion.

Speaker 6 (06:13):
Economically speaking, The economist says that regardless of political affiliation.
Accurate data is most important. Texans aren't taking the field
for Bunday Night football to Night Houston, We'll be visiting
the Seattle Seahawks at Bloomin Field. Texans quarterbacks C. G.
STROUDSS he's continuing to improve every week.

Speaker 7 (06:32):
Yeah, I think every week I get better.

Speaker 15 (06:34):
I think as the offense, we understand what fits for
us and what doesn't work that we've tried, you know,
So it's all about just adjusting.

Speaker 6 (06:43):
Texans have won there at last two games. Kickoff tonight
will be at nine pm. I met Rick Sharbaud, Houston's news, weather,
and traffic station News Radio seven forty KRH.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
World Events, National Headlines, Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
But that's the old post office, that's that's not the
u United States Post Office. I don't see any of
them out there working in the gloom of night. Although,
uh hey, we're still getting mail delivery. And by the way,
I thought they were going to come back. Weren't they
talking about cutting back in mail delivery, knocking him down
in cead of you getting it, you know, six days

(07:23):
a week, maybe getting it three or four days a week.
I'd be fine with that. I would be absolutely fine
with that. Why don't they wear are the cost cutting
measures that they said they needed to implement in order
to be able to save the post office? I've never
seen it, never seen a single one. All I see
are price hikes. And here comes another price hike, we're

(07:45):
told starting. Uh, well, it's already started. It started mid
nine October the fifth for Priority Mail, Priority Mail, Express,
Parcel Select in the United States, parcel service, ground advantage services.
Higher prices will remain in effect until Sunday Jane. We're
the eighteenth, when they'll go away. That's highly unusual for

(08:06):
any government entity to raise the price on something and
then it sunsets. I'm going to because I am a
betting man, I would probably bet that come January they say, well,
you know, we're still having a hard time making agaendst me.
We need to make these these increases permanent. The reason

(08:27):
why they claim they're doing it now is to help
cover the extra handling cost and bring prices for the
postal services, commercial and retail customers in line with competitive practices.
In other words, the other guys charge more, we're gonna
have to charge more. So why would you do it
just temporarily. They claim it's to get through the holidays.
I guess they don't have enough help. So anyway, here's
what you need to know. The Postal Services deadlines for

(08:50):
sending to addresses and the continental forty eight states are.
By the way, we're already talking about Christmas here Wednesday,
decembnth the seventeenth for USPS ground advantage and first class
mail Thursday to seventh the eighteenth for priority mail, Saturday
to set of the twentieth for Priority express mail. The prices, however,
that part party mail in USPS ground A banned shipments

(09:11):
will increase forty cents for zero to three pounds, sixty
cents per pound for forty to ten pounds, ninety five
cents per pound for eleven to twenty five pounds, and
a three dollars increase for twenty six to seventy pounds
in oversized packages. So the prices are going up brother
significantly five to ten. Time for traffic and whether it's together.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
To pay all those highly motivated, gumption filled people behind
the counter there.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Is that what they're step on the side for just
a second look their full of I'm fraid.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
They're going to break their neck with all that hustle.
He's text southbound before Willie. See, look out, there's a
stall price on the entrance rap. We'll call that a
right right kind of a right shoulders thing southbound. Obviously
it's really slinky town. Oh wait, wait, we got something in.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
The canyon here. We do have a ninja. What is
he doing?

Speaker 4 (09:58):
He's trying to help the guy and the guy I
just rolled off. This is crazy, all right. That's the
left flane. All right, this is what it is. Southwest
Freeway northbound at two eighty eight. He just took the
Cleveland exit. I don't think he wants the ninja to
pick him up.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
Jump O wad no help. Jump o't get no help.
I'm telling you.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
There he goes bye bye. Okay, so we've got more
flashy lights. Just watch out for other stations. Listeners, we're
rocking along. Let's give Terry more time. I'm Skymike at
your USA RV Resorts dot Com traffic center.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
From our KTRH top Tax Defenders twenty four hour weather center.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
Terry Smith is here.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
She does have the forecast for us, and there is
some rain again in the forecast, so we are those
of us who would not get seen any rate.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
I take that back. No rain today, but it rings tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
It ring for five minutes Saturday morning. Wow, just in
the one spot I was walking the dog. Nice, that
was it, though.

Speaker 16 (10:48):
Oh well, we can hope, we can hope for some
rain maybe by tomorrow, and then maybe again later in
the week.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
But for right now, it's going to be another dry day.

Speaker 16 (10:59):
At least, we're still starting off with some comfortable temperatures
this morning. Comfortable temperatures in low humidity. Looks like high's
this afternoon generally in the upper eighties to low nineties.
Not as cool tonight. A lot of us will be
in the seventies tonight. Now Tomorrow, I think we'll start
off with some sunshine but some scattered thunder showers. Fifty

(11:20):
percent chance that you'll get wet tomorrow. Back to dry
weather Wednesday and Thursday, and another opportunity for some rain
by Friday.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
Tebitcha.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Right now, it's Jilli out there, sixty at your officials
Severe Weather Station News Radio seven forty ktrh so Nolk.
King's protest was over the weekend here in Houston and
in the Woodlands. I don't know what the turnout was
like in the Woodlands. It was, you know, I would
say there were a few thousand people there, of course,
you know the TV people are bank is.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
On, like thousand, some thousand, some thousands, thous.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
It was a decent turnout, but there was something about
the crowd that will split this way. It was very diverse.
It was a lot of angry older white people, you know,
the angry older liberal crowd, the ones that were protesting
back in nineteen sixty eight and nineteen seventy, nineteen seventy two.

(12:14):
They're still out there. They're still out there, only this
time I think most of them are getting paid to
show up more on. That's so we're coming up next.
First though, we've got trying.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
To Mary Kay representative there because there wasn't a lot
of makeup that would be sold.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
With those I'm just I don't know, that's just an observation.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Oh sure, I bet there was an somebody who they're
selling in shore.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
I'm pretty sure. Let's go downtown.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
Now, this is weird, okay, this is why the guy
just looked like he ran away from the ninja.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
Downtown.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
It's two eighty eight southwest Freeway. The big merge here.
This part of town makes my head hurt. It's hard
for me to tell, but it's the south the East
tex Freeway northbound exit.

Speaker 5 (12:51):
All right. What he did was he left the.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
Little no man's land to go up a little further
up the road.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
And let's call this a left lane.

Speaker 17 (12:58):
Now.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
I've told the pretty ladies on TV that's what we
should do.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
And it's not.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
Much of a backup.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
It's just kind of a really sticky spot because it's
right there in the canyon rest of our free weist
rock and long.

Speaker 5 (13:07):
I think we did check ship channel bridges at five thirty.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
I'm Skymikitch the USA Rbresorts dot.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
What you need to know is this Radio seven KTRH.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
All right, Well, there was a lot of No King's
protesters out there. What were some of the things I
saw on the signs? Let's see here billionaires, billionaires dreading
on all of us. Well, that's interesting considering the billionaire
networks that paid for all this, including some operated by people, well,
you know, the typic of the George Soross network obviously

(14:49):
involved with this, but even warn Buffett evidently his network
is involved in at all stamp out fascism. Oh yeah,
a lot of those, lot of ice signs, a lot
of and I do mean older like seventy plus, you know,
white women in particular, that they were there, you know,
you know the ones, the ones that were you know,

(15:10):
we were ultraliberal hippie types in college and those of
us who were kind of liberal hippie types in college
who eventually grew up and became capitalists and started making
money and having families and sending our priorities in a
different direction. But they never did. Yeah, they were all
out there. Here's a report from our television partner, KPRC
two on the no Kings marches going on here in Houston.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
President Trump, we don't want you or any other king
to rule us.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
We will never surrender.

Speaker 18 (15:42):
So Donald Trump, stay the hell out of Chicago.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
In the City of the Immigrants. In Boston, every day
is no king's day. Donald Trump is not a king.
Donald Trump is a boy. Trump does think that he's
a king. Any thinks that he can.

Speaker 19 (16:01):
Act more corruptly when the government is shut down.

Speaker 20 (16:06):
You know, it's so funny to think about everything that
Trey was just bringing us from the Middle East, and
they're like very serious, big issues that the Trump administration
is dealing with. And then you flip over to how
did the Democrat leaders, all of the most powerful Democrats
in the United States spend their day yesterday? They were
at summer camp, singing campfire songs and being really ridiculous.

(16:31):
One thing, though, I think is really kind of interesting.
And by the way, I think it's wonderful that these
people are getting out and moving around and marching. It's
probably very healthy. A lot of these people look like
they don't get out very much. I think that that's
a very positive step we want.

Speaker 7 (16:44):
It's kind of part of the MAHA movement. Get them moving.

Speaker 5 (16:47):
Move around.

Speaker 20 (16:48):
It's better than maybe even better than pickleball. But I
do think it's kind of interesting for a group of
people that spend all their time yelling at us about
what is it diverse inclusion and equity, they have a
real diversity problem. At these rallies, it's like a see

(17:09):
you know, you'll you'll be in Chicago and it's a
seat of white people. It's all old white people, to
the point that even like left like MSNBC was calling
them Q tips.

Speaker 7 (17:19):
For the because of all their white hair.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
It's Q tips. That's pretty funny. That's Fox and Friends.
By the way, I misidentified that. We'll have a report,
more local report. That's more of a national report. More
local report from our television partner KPRC to coming up
shortly five twenty seven. It's time to take a look
at your money. As we say Happy Monday to Courtney Donahoe, good.

something to watch out.

fifty states, zeroing in on brand building, state economy, taxes,
and real estate. Economist Rape Perryman says he's not surprised
Texas made the list and attributes that to Texas history.

Speaker 30 (23:32):
There's Texas fashion, There's Texas music. There's a lot of
movies about Texas. We have a certain mistique, and I
think that goes all the way back to our history
as a republic.

Speaker 7 (23:39):
He also points to affordability day with.

Speaker 30 (23:42):
No income tax and a relatively low tax structure compared
to some of the larger states in the country.

Speaker 29 (23:46):
Perryman says, with all these positives, it's no doubt the
lone Star State is a good place to build a future.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
Or time here in the Houston's Morning News. Not a
hunter myself, I wasn't brought up in a hunting household.
I you know, I probably if I had, I'm sure
I would be. It strikes me as a lot a
lot of fun most times, unless you're doing what he's
doing in the song, right, there's nothing coming by for
you to shoot. But hunting deer that's one thing. Hunting

(25:23):
people is another. This hunter stand that they found outside
of West Palm Beach Airport. You know, I'm again, I'm
not a hunting expert, but that doesn't strike me. A
place where you got planes flying in and now doesn't
strike me as a is a particularly good place to
set up a hunter stand if what you're hunting is deer,

(25:43):
especially concerning the fact that the hunting stand is facing
towards the tarmac and you know the place where Air
Force one just happens to fly in and out of
with President Trump every now and again. Am I the
only one that's a little suspicious about this?

Speaker 5 (26:03):
Now?

Speaker 3 (26:03):
I looked it up, Yeah, because I was curious. When
does deer hunting season start in Florida and West Palm
is kind of like between two zones. Either they're either
in Zone A or Zone C. I can't figure out
which one they're in, but assuming they're in Zone C,
they have a muzzle loading season October eighteenth to thirty. First,
the general gun season starts November the first. Usually, I
think that's that's hunting season in a lot of places,

(26:26):
is when you get into November. At least when I
when I grew up as a kid in Michigan, that's
that meat. All the automotive plants would be shut down,
everybody be shut down because they'd be out deer hunting
at deer camp. I don't think this is the setup
for somebody who's going to do that. Point being that,
I'm glad that the Secret Service is taking this seriously.

(26:46):
I don't know if they'll have any luck at all
figuring out who that hunter's stand belongs to. Hopefully it
is just a hunter. Yeah, it's not not up to us.
I guess to judge whether or not he thinks that's
a good place to hunt or not, although if he's
that close to the airport, you would think of being
a legal place to hunt. But anyway, if they can
find out who's set it up, maybe we can find
out more about what the plan was.

Speaker 5 (27:07):
But if we go.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
If it's an innocent, innocent hunter situation, this thing will
get enough notoriety that that if it's an actual hunter,
that hunter is going to come forward. Yeah that's mine,
you know, that's where I hunt. If nobody comes forward,
if everybody's quiet about it, then you have to you
have to wonder whether or not that that was a
potential assassin's lair somebody else who wants to take a
pot shot at Trump. Because I don't think for a

(27:30):
minute they're going to stop. I think they keep coming.
I think I think they are so afraid of Donald Trump.
I think that they they just keep coming, and we
have to be prepared for that by forty time for
traffic and weather together. What you got going on, sky mikey, he's.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
Shooting for par on the seventeenth.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
Let's go to the North Freeway. I have forty five.
It looks like I got a back quarterer slip. That's
going to be right. Actually a little before there, Little York,
I've got a wreck reported.

Speaker 5 (27:57):
I believe that.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
Look at these backups West Mountain, Houston big shots jump
on the Hardy Toll Road and ritfraffles to the East

the Beltway that we start. We've begun having a few
weeks ago, just every day for so oh wait, look
there we go. I gotta stall outbound east text right
before the remp to go to the airport. Let's go

out there this morning. Let's see, I was checking temperatures
and a lot of us huh Conrose fifty four if
you can believe that most of us are in the
fifties or early to mid sixties loa to mid sixties.
So yeah, nice more out there. We've had some drier

(29:02):
air move in. It doesn't hang around much longer, though,
because our winds are going to shift now. It's a
sunny day today, and as we get those southerly winds,
we're going to warm up into the upper eighties to
low nineties today. Tomorrow, there's a col front that's going
to be close enough to bring us some rain. It's
only a forty percent chance of showers or thunderstorms in

(29:23):
the afternoon, but it will help to keep the temperatures
slightly cooler. Tomorrow, mid to upper eighties, and then a
little bit of fall on Wednesday, load to mid eighties.
Wednesday will start to warm up. Thursday Thursdays dry as well.
Mid to upper eighties Thursday, and then another shot of
some rain Friday. So I'm kind of excited about the
idea of some rain. Personally, I am too.

I hope it comes to me right now sixty at

Houston's Morning News coming up here in just a moment,
we'll talk about, you know, the rhetoric that continues at
some point in time. You've got to think we're already
seeing some examples of the rhetoric leading to bloodshed, especially

(30:07):
as relates to ice, but there are other potential political
victims as well. You know, we just mentioned this incident
in Florida where they found the hunting stand right by
the airport where Airforce one goes. You know, you've got
to think that the bloodshed will continue unless something changes here.
We'll talk about that next first though. At five point fifty,

You never know what's going to happen with you've radio.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
Seven kg rh What he was too early for ec
what five fifty three at a time here in Houston's
boring to is bloodshed. We could end up with bloodshed
as a result of all this rhetoric that refuses to
die away, especially as relays dies that eist. Cleveland joins us.
He's Terrell County Sheriff. We've already seen it with Ice,
haven't we. Hey, good one, Jimmy Grift be on with you. No,

(32:26):
we certainly have. You know, here in Texas alone, we've
already had what three or four incidents, one down the
Rio grind Valley, one up in Dallas, and then just
there South San Antonio. So yeah, this this rhetoric continues,
and uh, and it's putting not just law enforcement, you
know that their lives at risk, but and it's an Americans,
those that we may have in custody, and then of
course those who are are really creating the chaos. So

(32:49):
what's the answer here other than toning down the rhetoric obviously,
which if the if the left was going to tone
down the rhetoric, I would have thought they would have
done it by now, wouldn't.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
You most definitely?

Speaker 31 (33:00):
And uh, you know, we we we've heard some some
talk about it, but uh, as far as slowing down
the rhetoric, calming down the rhetoric, but uh, but we
continue to see these you know that they call them
protests are far from that. It's it's anarchy and uh
and it's it's it's putting people at danger. And actually,
you know, there's probably more more consequences right now from
our own American citizens than there is a cartel. They're

(33:23):
American citizens are more of a threat. So uh, I
tell you, we're going to continue to see this happen.
I'm not sure what's going to be able to to
to quell it or stop it, but uh, and certainly
needs to people, are people are going to be I
like to say, Jim that you know, these these agents
and officers have shown a tremendous amount of restraint. There's
been some situations. I know one agent from here at

(33:44):
Sanderson that's been deployed in Chicago and and and the
stories he's told it's, uh, it's unl like we've ever
seen before.

Speaker 5 (33:51):
It really is.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Well, the only thing that's keeping us from anarchy is
that we refuse on the right to participate in it.
You ever foresee a time though, where things can get
bad enough where we have no choice but to participate
in it.

Speaker 31 (34:03):
Well, and we're still in the greatest country in the world,
right the United States, probably be an American And that's
exactly why President Trump's wanted to send in a National
Guard and not to go in there and and and
you know, add more fuel to the fire, but to
protect these facilities, to help the agents and officers that
are out there protecting the facilities that they're continuing to

(34:25):
be targeted. I don't know that we'll get that far,
but I certainly hope not. I certainly hope not.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
I hope not either. You may have heard the story
out of Florida. I want to get your take on this.
You know, it's all conjecture at this point, but they
found a hunting stand right out of what right outside
of West Palm Beach Airport, in direct line of side
to where Air Force one uses the runway. There coincidence,
you know, with all the attempts that have already happened,
including one previously in Florida. I think you have to

(34:53):
look at that pretty seriously, don't you.

Speaker 31 (34:57):
You know, of course he's utilized that airport talking about
the president many times before, and I'm certain they've done
security sweeps. You know, he's a man that's unfortunately hated tremendously.
There's a tremulous amount of hate that that's targeted towards him,
you know, and we're seeing them ramp up the security
not just for the President, but even even for within DHS.

(35:20):
Roddy Scott, two Charge Commissioner, I know he's got security detail.
The us CIS, which is Customs and Immigration Services, they
they're all having protective detail because of all that we're
seeing across the United States. You know, it's it's it's
certainly been inflamed. And we'll continue and we've got probably
another three years of.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
This, Jimmy, Yeah, I think you're right at least, Thank you, sir,
appreciate your time as always, Terrell County Sheriff.

Speaker 5 (35:45):

our top stories this f are. Will all of these
protesters eventually lead to bloodshed? That hunting stand? Was that
a hunting stand actually? Or was it maybe an assassin's
perch that they found in West Palm Beach, Florida? And

Speaker 7 (37:23):
Good morning.

Speaker 6 (37:24):
This news brought to you by All Star Construction. Six
h two now on News Radio seven forty k TRH.
Our top story this hour. Federal agent's investigating a hunting
stand found overlooking the Air Force one's landing area in
Palm Beach just before President Trump's arrival. The Secret Service
says it was discovered during a security SUITEP. The FBI

(37:44):
now leading that case. Oh no suspect has been tied
to it as of yet. Demonstrators around the country took
to the streets on Saturday for the No Kings protest
of fuying President Trump. House Speaker Mike Johnson joining ABC's
this Week, claiming the irony of the protests is pretty clear.

Speaker 9 (38:03):
If President Trump was a king, the government would be
open right now. If President Trump was a king, they
would not have been able to engage in that free
speech exercise out on them all.

Speaker 6 (38:11):
Saturday was the second time since the President returned to
the White House that the No King's rallies have taken
place nationwide. Dozens were arrested in many different cities across
the country. Tom Homan is calling out the rhetoric from
the radical left which has led to protests that have
consistently escalated to violence against ice.

Speaker 7 (38:30):
He's warning that if it continues, it could get worse.

Speaker 11 (38:34):
The High Agent's of warped Troy Agent's they're regular people
like us. They live in communities, they have kids. They
did swear no the Constitution United States, and that pulled
the laws and they are acting well within their outlined authorities.

Speaker 6 (38:45):
As former Border patrol officer in Terrell County Sheriff that
he is Cleveland, he says this rhetoric and the radicals
acting on it are just putting Americans and illegal aliens
at more risk. Democrats are holding firm on their trillion
dollar healthcare bill as the government shut down continues, while
Republicans pressed them to compromise. Speaking of Board Air Force

(39:07):
One on Sunday, the President said that he supports healthcare reform,
but not the Democrats version.

Speaker 13 (39:12):
They'll be no money given toward their crazy escalation of
giving money to illegal alias that came into the country
totally illegally. I mean they came in illegally. They want
to spend one point five trillion with a.

Speaker 6 (39:28):
T Senator John Doone says that he'll push a bill
this week to make sure federal workers and troops get
paid during the shutdown, which is down it's the third
longest in US history. The NTSB is investigating after the
United Airlines flight from Denver to LA was forced to
divert to Salt Lake City when it's windshield cracked mid air.

(39:48):
The following day to United planes clipped wings at Chicago,
oh haare No major injuries were reported in either case.
President Trump escalating his dispute with the president of Columbia
Foxes Ashley Stromeyer has details on that.

Speaker 8 (40:02):
It's after the US military struck a seventh vessel in
the Caribbean allegedly carrying drugs linked to a Colombian rebel group.
Columbia's president refused the claim, saying it was just a
fishing vote, and Trump called him an illegal drug leader
and accused him of failing to stop drug trafficking. Trump
says he will announce new tarrorfs on Colombian and cut

(40:23):
US funding.

Speaker 6 (40:24):
Secretary of warp To Hankseth says that three people were
killed in that boat strike. According to a new study,
seven out of every ten Americans. In the same survey,
forty five percent of workers say they felt pressured to
share their political opinions during informal conversations at work.

Speaker 7 (40:41):
So what's the solution.

Speaker 11 (40:43):
They're into silver bullets for political disagreement in the workplace.
Some organizations may find certain things works best for them.
Some of their organizations may need to ban any political
discussion in the workplace if it's become too much of
a problem.

Speaker 6 (40:56):
Workplace culture expert Joshua Evans says just a few years ago,
people could have political disagreements in the workplace and still
be civil thanks to rising political tensions, and it's just
not the case anymore.

Speaker 7 (41:08):
KTRH news Time is six h five.

Speaker 6 (41:11):
Seniors concern that the government shut down will effect their
Social Security benefits can breathe a sigh of relief. The
Department has confirmed and we'll be announcing the twenty twenty
six Cost of Living Adjustment October twenty fourth, which helps,
but more questions still remain.

Speaker 29 (41:26):
The original call of eight was October fifteenth, and Americans
relying on those benefits want some answers. Economist Hank Lewis
says that's positive, but he has two concerns. One, will
they have enough qualified personnel to do the CPI valuations.

Speaker 14 (41:41):
And then second of all, that they get the appropriations
back in order so that those checks are sent out.

Speaker 29 (41:47):
He is also concerned corporations could cut workforce in response.

Speaker 14 (41:51):
And so the longer there is this uncertainty, the more
likely it is to breed negativity in the macro economy.

Speaker 5 (41:57):
And that's what we would not like to have happened.

Speaker 29 (41:59):

Each week starts over. For me, it's about how you
prepare for the given week. All right, whatever happened, whatever
has happened in the past, it really doesn't matter. How
are you preparing this week? How are you executing this week?
Like that's the only thing that matters. You continue to execute, well,
we'll be in a good spot to make some plays.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
All right, liars, We all know liars. People who lie
routinely and by the way, people who lie very very well.
My wife is not one of those people. Elizabeth can't
lie to save her life. She can't look at you,
her eyes dart around. She gets a nervous giggle going on.
I go, what is this story you're making up. And she,

(43:15):
in fact, when she when she was in the process
of planning a surprise birthday party for me, she every
time that she would have a phone call, she would
like go into the bathroom or something because she not
just because she was afraid I would overhear any part
of a conversation. But she was afraid that I would
see that she's, you know, trying. She she was afraid
I would ask questions. To her credit, I never found

(43:37):
out about the surprise until the surprise actually happened. But
she couldn't She couldn't be around me because she's a
horrible liar. Most people like to think they can tell
when somebody's lying, But do you know the signs. Here
are the signs. The top ten signs that somebody might
be lying to you. Number one I direction. Apparently, if
a person looks to the right a lot, it means
they're making stuff up. If they're looking to their left,

(43:59):
they're trying to remembers something, So look for the eyes
darting to the right. Long pauses. Liars may stall or
repeat your question to buy time because they got to
think of the lie before they tell the lie. Voice changes.
Listen for a higher pitch or breathless tone, usually caused

(44:20):
by stress, fidgeting, the poker face, you know, all of
a sudden, their face goes blank, there's no expression, nothing,
eye dancing. If their eyes are all over the room,
it's usually a sign of panic over compensation. A liar
has a tendency to exaggerate, puff things up, or act
over confidently in order to try to get away with something.

(44:42):
Crossed arms, I've heard, cross legs, anything that can signal defensiveness.

Speaker 5 (44:48):
If you've seen.

Speaker 3 (44:48):
Crime shows where they're interviewing criminals, you know, and and
and they're being interrogated by the police, you see all
these signs of people trying to make things up, force smiles,
too many fillers like you know well basically again time
killers while they try to think of whatever that lie is.
Some people are pretty good at it. I try only

(45:11):
need to tell white lies. Usually if I'm lying, it's
because I'm trying to spare somebody's feelings, not because I'm
trying to be a terrible person by lying. I mean,
if you think somebody's wearing like if I think Elizabeth
is wearing something really really ugly, I'm not gonna well,
I take that back. Sometimes I'll be truthful with her
about that, but I'll be very diplomatic about it.

Speaker 5 (45:32):
Just put this way. When I lie, I'm a diplomatic liar. Six'.

Speaker 3 (45:35):

Speaker 3 (47:26):
IT i was trying to remember the last time we
had temperatures below overnight lows in the.

Speaker 5 (47:30):
FIFTIES i think they probably you would have to go
back To.

Speaker 16 (47:32):
April probably probably Maybe. May but, yeah it's been a,
while so this is. Refreshing. Now it's not going to
be that kind of cool tonight because we've got southerly.
Wins so here's the. Deal it's really pleasant right. Now
the winds are going to shift and so a little
more heat and. Humidity you'll notice it today and the

(47:53):
temperatures today similar to, yesterday up eighties to low. Nineties
but tonight we're not going to be as. Cool most
of us are going to be in the seventies. Tonight
we've got a cold front on the way though, tomorrow
and that will bring us some rain in the, afternoon
a fifty percent chance of thunder. Showers mid to upper Eighties.
Tomorrow wednesday will be. Cooler afternoon highs On wednesday in
the low to mid, eighties And thursday still in the.

(48:15):

(48:44):
popular support amongst, voters but certainly when it comes to campaign.
Contributions John cornyn has a lot of money and he's
more than happy to spend, it and right now he's
spending it trying to commitce everybody that he's a big
Time trump supporter when that's not really the.

Speaker 5 (48:58):

Speaker 3 (50:42):
Maybe not so conservatively six twenty three hour time here
In Houston's Port. News it was interesting On Michael berry's,
PROGRAM i think this was last. WEEK i heard some
of his listeners kind of chiming in about who they
support in The senate, Race John cornyn Or Ken paxton
Or Wesley. Hunt and it was pretty evenly split Between

(51:02):
Wesley hunt And Ken. Paxton nobody was calling in to
Support John, cornyn which is why he's spending so much
money right now trying to prevent being. Primary joining us
talk about it Is Chris. Bagala he has a problem
with the voters at this, Point Chris. Bagala but the
question is are these the people are going to show
up at the polls and vote and voted this early

(51:25):
part of the election for the candidate who eventually will
run for THE Us senate because in the past that
hasn't been the.

Speaker 37 (51:30):
Case, yeah you, know it's fascinating because when you are
running in A republican, primary most of those voters are
are are more secure and knowledgeable about what they're, doing
and it's harder to change their. Minds and there's no

(51:51):
doubt That John cornyn is looking at a situation where
he is not viewed as the rock solid, conservative and
that's what he needs to be in a Conservative republican
primary In. Texas, so you, know these, Polls i'm not
so sure that the last couple of polls that have

(52:11):
come out have been exactly spot on because they basically
Have paxton And cornyn pretty darn. Close And Wesley, hunt
who's somewhat you, know new to to the entire, state
but he's looking pretty good BECAUSE i would think his
NAME id would be dragging a little bit more than it.
Is so it's it's. Fascinating and as you, state of,

(52:33):
course the incumbency Of John, cornyn you know the foundational
support he gets from paxed, lobbyists all those people that
do business with the. Government he's a Sitting United States.
Senator that's a pretty big. Deal he's got tons of.
Money and the question here is can he somewhat change
the mind Of republican primary voters and tell them THAT

(52:58):
i am more? Conservative then you think that's the challenge,
here and, uh you, know it's going to be very.
Interesting we've still got months and months, Left so that's
years uh in a lifetime in. Politics but it's a
very fascinating uh story and a fascinating.

Speaker 28 (53:16):
Race.

Speaker 3 (53:17):
Well the thing that makes The Wesley hunt candidacy interesting
to me IS i think the main reason why he
got in is that he sensed and AND i wonder
what you're sensing on, This, Ken Ken paxton's baggage is
all personal, baggage you, know based on based on the
relationship he had with his wife and and and there
are a lot of conservative voters out there that get
nervous about that and and don't want to don't want

(53:38):
to vote for somebody based based on. That so you've
Got John cornyan who's not, conservative if you've Got Ken
paxton's personal, issues and now you Got Wesley, hunt, who's
as far AS i can, tell doesn't have any of
those types of issues to worry.

Speaker 37 (53:48):
About, yeah and you, know the elephant in the, room of,
course is the most, powerful the most polarizing figure on
the planet Is Donald. Trump If Donald trump gets involved
here and SAYS i am For, paxton it's.

Speaker 5 (54:04):
Over paxton.

Speaker 37 (54:05):
Wins If Donald trump, says you know what he's been
good to? ME i don't agree with him all the,
time BUT i support and endorse Wholeheartedly John. Cornyn it
might be over. Okay and if he were to go With,
HUNT i Think hunt could easily make a, runoff maybe
even win straight. Out so Will Donald trump get?

Speaker 11 (54:25):
INVOLVED i don't think.

Speaker 37 (54:27):
That trump is going to Endorse. PAXTON i don't think
he is So. Kenton paxton has got an upfiell. Battle
this just might turn out that it could Be hunt
And cornyn in a. RUNOFF i don't. See Unless trump
comes in and gives a strong endorsement and raises a
bunch of money for a, candidate one of these three

(54:50):
they'll win. Outright but If trump does not, ENDORSE i
think we're looking at a you, know we're looking at a.
RUNOFF i don't think one of these candidates is going
to get fifty.

Speaker 3 (54:59):

on the, ballot along with a congressional seat and city council,

Low, generally these constitutional amendments don't cause a large number
of people to turn up the. Vote In Congressional district,
eighteen there'll be a spike that buy and. Large you're
looking at voter turnout somewhere in the mid to high

Now Houston's Morning news continues With Jimmy barrett and The
Houston Morning News. Team i'd Afraid No ghosts six thirty,
eight our time here On Houston's Morning. News all, right
this story is One i'm gonna do a question to
day on. IT i don't, know honestly what the response

(01:02:31):
is going to, be BECAUSE i think there's still a
stigma involved for people who say they've seen a ghost
or have experienced something that is paranormal that they can't.
Explain and if you were to ask me twenty years,
ago WHAT i thought about, GHOSTS i would probably laugh at,
you BUT i don't laugh anymore BECAUSE i had it

(01:02:54):
happen to. Me and once you have something like that
happened to, you and you hear a disembodied voice that
cannot be explained talking to, you or you have something
happening in your home like wall, shaking door shaking that
there is no logical explanation. For you can see outside the,
door there's nobody outside the, door but that handle is

(01:03:16):
going up and down like somebody's trying to get into your.
House you have something like that, happen it turns you
in a bit of a. Believer and that's the Situation
i'll find myself.

Speaker 5 (01:03:24):
In but.

Speaker 3 (01:03:27):
Where would you suppose you would find the most amount
of ghosts or the most stories about. Hauntings interestingly, Enough
New york came in number, one of, course that's you
think that's guy anything to do with the setting Of,
ghostbusters which was set In New York. City eighty one
ghost settings for ten thousand. People texas is number, two

(01:03:49):
followed By, Louisiana, California, Utah, Florida, Pennsylvania, Alabama, nevada And, Washington.
Georgia evidently is the least, haunted only six sidings per
ten thousand. People maine is, next followed By, Nebraska, Indiana,
Connecticut New, Jersey New, Hampshire Rhode, island And. Iowa now
look at those states And i'm wondering if there's a,

(01:04:10):
pattern and there doesn't seem to. Be you, KNOW i was,
thinking for, example did there's some people who don't believe
in ghosts from a religious? STANDPOINT i thought that maybe
some of the more southern states you would have less
sidings because people wouldn't attribute that to something like a.
Ghost Because georgia came in as least. Haunted but those other, States,

(01:04:31):
maine that's just about as far away from The south
as you can. Get, Nebraska, indiana those Are midwestern. States
connecticut And New jersey those Are northeastern. States so it's
kind of all over the. Map so here's my. Question
have you ever experienced a ghost or what you thought
was a? Ghost do you believe in ghosts or do
you not believe in? Ghosts and if you don't believe in,

(01:04:53):
ghosts what do you think these things are just a
figment of the. Imagination the day it's getting close To,
halloween this good time to do. IT i go to
The iHeart radio APP, ktrh hit the talkback button up

Speaker 3 (01:29:01):
College professors seven twenty three is the time Here in houston's. Morning,
News Well Governor greg abbott wants to do something about
THAT about i think he's enough of a realist to
know that without some sort, of OVERSIGHT these dei programs
and other things that the state has tried to weed
out of our higher education are going to continue to
exist as long as they can get away with. Doing

(01:29:22):
it so the idea behind having this new office to
deal with this is to make sure these things. Get Investigated,
on thursday He Appointed brandon Simmons as texas' first higher.
Education ombudsman join us talk. About it, His Attorney Michael,
WYNN michael i think this is a good first step
if you really want to, police this because somebody has,

(01:29:42):
to investigate because if, they don't it will. Just, Continue
yeah simmons is a.

Speaker 43 (01:29:49):
Great choice he is Educated At Berkeley Stanford. Law school
he's a venture capitalist and. Corporate lawyer far from a
hotbed of conservatism. And ombudsman we have plenty of them
throughout the state and insurance and other areas, of law,
health care and he serves as an intermediary between the
public and. The government helps avoid a slew, of lawsuits

(01:30:14):
but is in a position to provide information on what's
permissible and what's. Not permissible this is provided for the
underlying legislation.

Speaker 5 (01:30:25):
Last year it's not a.

Speaker 43 (01:30:26):
New development the governor has taken a non, political person,
you know to implement and oversee.

Speaker 3 (01:30:33):
This matter that's a rare thing. THESE days a non,
Political person let's say he gets, a complaint he investigates,
the complaint he finds the complaint, is legitimate take it.
From there what, Happens, next okay a.

Speaker 43 (01:30:46):
Further investigation they're subject to a fine and are required
to remedy the situation within a certain reasonable, TIME period
i think in. Six months it's important to bear in,
mind too that, You know texas, has several i think
the leading top tier universities in. The country we didn't
get there, by micromanagement doctor. Managing curriculum these matters can still,

(01:31:12):
be taught, you know universities can still consider them. In
recruitment but what's gone is the mandatory mandatory training and
merit and we're going back to based selection of leaders
and administrators in our public. School systems and, What, happens

(01:31:33):
yes there's corrective action taken and defined suspension of state
funds if you don't follow.

Speaker 5 (01:31:39):
The, law okay.

Speaker 3 (01:31:41):
Fair enough at the end of, the day it sounds
like what, you're, saying though is that fundamentally this doesn't
really change a higher Education. In texas it's doctor to
change the curriculum is not going to prevent people from
taking these types. Of courses it's just the dumbany's going
to be forced to take, them anymore.

Speaker 43 (01:31:59):
That's correct and then also in, the administration who, gets hired,
who doesn't who gets admitted to, the schools and, who
doesn't those kinds of decisions are going to go back
to what they, should be which is, merits based instead
of forcing these kind of training on everyone or mandatory

(01:32:20):
sort of videos and such you have to watch in
order to keep. Your jobs so it's it's many many
states are, doing this Or the texas is taking the
lead and actually providing an ombudsman or i, should say
an intermediary to help explain the law to universities students who.

Speaker 3 (01:32:40):
Have, Questions, okay michael thank you, Appreciate It, michael wynn he's.

their sole purpose Is to Exterminate israel And. Jews and americans,
by the way and the only way for The people
of gaza to have peace is for the bad guys to.

we're getting a little bit out of control in what,
they were doing and that it was time to it
was time to be very strong and stop them from
doing things that he felt were not in their.

can president Trump trust the israelis?

To?

Speaker 5 (01:45:13):
Follow? THROUGH now.

Speaker 1 (01:45:16):
Oh.

Speaker 9 (01:45:16):
I think, so i mean what you're seeing on play
out on the world stage is a return of. Peace,
Through Strength sorry president trump is the one that has.
Brought that back and he's able and willing to have
strong conversations not just, with our adversaries with our. Friends
as well and, he speaks directly and he Spoke Directly
to prime Minister. Net in yahoo they have a long
relationship and, want of trust and he told him. Enough

(01:45:39):
IS enough and i think that was a precipitating factor
in getting us to this incredible point that we are
now a truly historic peace deal that just by sheer force,
Of His personality president trump was able. To PUSH through
and i think he Greatly Deserves A. Nobel peace, Prize
in fact speaker O'hanna of THE kanesse and i have
joined forces to try to collect as many signatures as

(01:45:59):
we can from other speakers and leaders of parliaments around
the free world to join us In Co nominating president
trump For The Next. Nobel peace prize there's no one's more.

Speaker 3 (01:46:08):
Deserving, than that well let's, see first though if we really,
do have peace because As long as, hamas is around
there won't, be any peace and we'll be going back
constantly trying to take care. Of this problem, They're GOING to,
like i said the only way to have peace in
that part of the World is for, hamas to disappear

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars?
