Speaker 6 (01:24):
Good morning, Jimmy, and good morning everyone, fiveh one on KTRH,
our top story.

Speaker 7 (01:30):
I promise the American people that I would build a
cutting edge missile defense shield to protect our homeland from
the threat of foreign missile attack.

Speaker 8 (01:38):
And that's what we're doing.

Speaker 6 (01:39):
President Trump announcing the Golden Dome for America at the
White House fulfilling yet another campaign promise.

Speaker 8 (01:47):
The Golden Dome for.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
America is game changer.

Speaker 9 (01:49):
It's a generational investment in the security of America and Americans.

Speaker 6 (01:54):
Defense Secretary Pete hegsett the project is going to cost
one hundred and seventy five billion dollars and Trump hopes
to have this all done by the end of his term.
Elsewhere on Capitol Hill, there could be a full House
vote on the Trump budget today, Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan
told KTRH is Sean Hannity, Republicans are putting America first.

Speaker 10 (02:16):
We're the party that says, let you keep more of
your money to go after your goals and dreams.

Speaker 6 (02:19):
We're the party that says we need to have a
border secure novel we had under Biden. The President met
with the Republican House Conference yesterday. Johnson also reportedly has
a deal with Blue state Republicans to raise the cap
on state and local tax exemptions or AsSalt to forty
thousand dollars.

Speaker 8 (02:36):
As part of all this five.

Speaker 6 (02:38):
H two on KTRH, a House hearing held yesterday to
look at obstructing ice operations. Now this comes a day
afternoon Jersey Democrat Lamonica McIver was slapped with federal charges
for storming a new Jersey ice facility. Our fellow Democrats, well,
they did Democrat things.

Speaker 11 (02:58):
The entire chaos that ensued ensued because of the unlawful
detainment and arrest of the mayor in the first place.

Speaker 6 (03:06):
Texas Congresswoman Jasmin Crockett ignoring the video showing Mackivor pushing
and shoving officers by the way mckiv is claiming that
she rejected a potential plead deal in the case, claiming
she would not quote admit to doing something I did
not do, even though again there's video five oh three
on ktr H.

Speaker 8 (03:27):
Here's a shocker.

Speaker 6 (03:28):
MSNBC's Joe Scarborough actually was confronted for lying to America
last year about this being quote, the best Biden ever.

Speaker 12 (03:38):
Looking back at that, do you say, well, it was
misleading to say best by never without a caveating it
and say except on the days when he's not the
best Biden. Well, but I never saw those days. First,
Well you did, you did, because you saw him adress
a dead congresswoman.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
Scarborough called out by Mark Halper. And so just how
bad was the cover up? Well, a former Obama official
says it was massive, and.

Speaker 13 (04:05):
RNC committeemen doctor Robin Armstrong says it's about time.

Speaker 14 (04:10):
The Democrats are finally accepting reality years later. That's what
it says to me. And I think it's shameful. I mean,
this is the biggest cover up in American history.

Speaker 13 (04:20):
The question now is will there be any accountability?

Speaker 14 (04:24):
That is a great question. If we are able to
find out who was actually running the country. That person
should be tried for treason.

Speaker 13 (04:32):
If not, it's up to voters to make sure that
Democrats don't get their power back. Jeff Biggs, News Radio
seven forty k tiery.

Speaker 8 (04:40):
Thank you, Jeff. It's five to h four here at home.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
Houston City Council votes today on the new HPD pay raises.
If that gets through, this will of course benefit those officers,
and it might cause a huge exodus from the Harris
County Sheriff's office.

Speaker 15 (04:56):
It's then definitely put particularly our p Troll Division in
crippling numbers. Patrol districts are going to have very few deputies.

Speaker 6 (05:07):
Jose Lopez with the Harris County Deputies Organization says the
Sheriff's office is already understaffed. So far, County Judge Alena
Hidalgo hasn't done much to address the issue. She wants
twenty three grand to go to Paris, though. Lopez joins
Jimmy at five fifty, a Texas man executed last night,
thirteen years to the day after he set a grandmother

(05:29):
on fire during a gas station robbery in Garland. Matthew
Johnson is the fourth person to be put to death
in Texas this year. There are currently one hundred and
sixty eight inmates on death row in Texas, the lowest
number since nineteen eighty five. A maintenance worker in the
jail where ten inmates escaped on Friday was arrested on

(05:49):
accusations of helping the bad guys break out. Louisiana Attorney
General Liz Merle commends New Orleans Sheriff Susan Houston for
owning what happened where.

Speaker 8 (05:59):
All of our own ships.

Speaker 16 (06:01):
And I think she took responsibility at the at the
hearing and said I take responsibility for what happened.

Speaker 8 (06:08):
That's appropriate.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
Five of the escape prisoners are still on the loose again.
A fifth inmate was taken into custody overnight five oh
six on KGRH Looking at your Money overnight trading is
down three hundred and twenty four points on Dow futures.
All three indices took losses yesterday. That said, we've talked
about the Great Wealth Transfer before, but there's a switch.

(06:32):
It won't be children inheriting the money. It'll be women.

Speaker 17 (06:35):
One survey says the wives of men with at least
some wealth will inherit a total of about fifty trillion
dollars over these coming years. How economist doctor Stephen Craig
at the University of Houston says.

Speaker 18 (06:48):
Because we've put our pensions into four to one k's
instead of leaving them in corporations.

Speaker 17 (06:52):
In the past, savings went to banks and corporate pension funds,
and the money now will go from husbands to the wives.
Makes you wonder what the kids think about that. Michael

You ready make KTRH your number one pre set on
the new and improved free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Bi Linguals lost the mob which I was bilingual. I
really do, but you need to be able to speak
English to be a truck driver in this country, especially
right now five to eight our time here on Houston's
Boring News. Good morning, President Trump ordered removing truck drivers
who don't speak sufficient English. It's been made official now
by the Department of Transportation. There's a guy in the story.

(07:54):
He's an Haitian immigrant. His name is Kevinson Jane. He
says he feels self conscious, or did feel it. During
his commercial driver's license exam. He said, sometimes I was
afraid to pronounce something wrong. He covers about one hundred
thousand miles of year as a trucker. He said, I
didn't want people to laugh at me. Well, here's the thing.

(08:17):
We all, from time to time pronounce a word wrong.
Nobody should be embarrassed by pronouncing a word wrong. But
if you can't speak the language, if your accent is
so thick that you cannot communicate with other people in
the English language, in particular law enforcement, then that is
going to be a big problem. So, starting evidently Tuesday,

(08:41):
this is retroactive to yesterday, roadside English proficiency tests will
now be given. Wow Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy officially signed
a directive for his department to take truck drivers off
the road if they're not fluent in English. The directives
into effect an executive order signed by the President on

(09:02):
April the twenty eighth. Trump's order changes the penalty for
violations of the law, which for decades have required that
as a qualification to be a commercial motor vehicle driver,
a person must read and speak the English language. It's
now going to be enforced.

Speaker 14 (09:14):
Now.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
How they go about enforcing it, I don't know, because
I don't think there are members of the Department Transportation
that are just to be driving around, pulling over truck
drivers and testing them on their English. I don't know
if they are asking for or getting any cooperation from
the state police, for example, or local law enforcement, where Hey,

(09:36):
if you pull over a truck driver and they can't
communicate with you they don't speak English or they don't
speak it in a way that's understandable. We need to
know who these people are. I would think that would
be the only way that would actually work. I do
remember we talked about this, I want to say, about
a month ago here in the show, and we heard
from a lot of you truck drivers who say, this
is a big problem. There are a lot of truck

(09:56):
drivers out there who don't speak English at all and
can I communicated all. It's a major problem. Five to
ten time for traffic and weathered together.

Speaker 8 (10:04):
I want everybody to.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
Know enough English to know what the height of the
bridge is at Houston Avenue on the Katie Freeway. That
would sure be helpful with help a lot. Katie Freeway
looks good. In fact, that's why they're doing some work.
You've got Grand Parkway in. From from Grand Parkway into
Highway six, we're clear assoom a little here from the
Belt to the Loop looks good and into the President's heads,

(10:25):
we're good shape. Katie jump on now. While while nothing's
doing Southwest Freeway. Nothing going on here so far. We're
from Sugar Lakes. Let me go back for the Brass
River and we're looking at twenty one minutes up.

Speaker 8 (10:36):
Wow, two eighty eight rocks this morning.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
Iowall call on you up twenty four minutes now and

I understand northbound. I don't condone it. Dickinson now officially
thirty four minutes up. I'm Skymike on the USA RB

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Our weather center Terry Smith is here. We're getting closer
to the Memorial Day weekend, So the pressure is going
up terry to provide us with a nice weekend.

Speaker 20 (11:05):
Yes, and you know it's not looking too bad. Overall.
We don't have a lot of rain. We do get
some rain early next week, more so Monday than anything.
So let's go through the rest of this week and
then talk about the weekend. That front is stalled just
to the south of us, the one that brought us

(11:27):
a little bit of rain yesterday, and it's bringing a
shower too along the coast today, So there's a twenty
percent chance of some rain if you live close to
the coast or close to Galveston Bay. Other than that,
we are partly cloudy, temperatures slightly cooler today, uper eight
east to low nineties, lots of sunshine Tomorrow, Friday, Saturday,

(11:49):
and Sunday, but there's no rain until Sunday. There's a
twenty percent chance of a thunderstorm or two on Sunday. Now,
our temperatures are going to be in the load of
mid nineties starting tomorrow through the weekend Monday Tuesday, we've
got some scattered showers and thunderstorms. So if you got
outdoor plans earlier in the weekend is going to be
okay and Monday could be a bit tricky.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Gotcha right now? Seventy six at your officials, Severe Weather Station,

Speaker 4 (12:28):
So who do you suppose showed up to try to
make a few excuses for the seashell eighty six forty
seven thing that happened with Trump? Yeah, yeah, James Comy.
He went to MSNBC. Of course he did. But that
should tell you all you need to know about his politics,
not that you needed that clue that that's where he

(12:48):
would go, because you know you're going to have a
friendly audience there that's not going to ask too many questions.
So what kind of excuse did James Comey make for
the seashells eighty six forty seven? We'll have that in
reaction to it coming up next. First though, twenty gimme yes,
Sky Mike norm died he did?

Speaker 8 (13:03):
I saw that.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
George went Cheers America is a little Saturday this morning.

Speaker 8 (13:07):

Speaker 5 (13:13):
Why would anyone ever leave Richmond or Rosenberg in the morning.

Speaker 8 (13:16):
We're beautiful coming up from the Brass River.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
Now you have that outbound lane shift that happened a
long time over the river a long time ago.

Speaker 8 (13:24):
That's outbound southbound.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
One of these days they're going to really ramp up
that construction.

Speaker 8 (13:28):
For now you're getting by.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
They've they've done a nice shift job here on the
inbound coming up from the fountains.

Speaker 8 (13:34):
It's nineteen minutes rest of Bee Freeways rock.

Speaker 5 (13:36):

We have some breaking news.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
You ready make kt r H your number one pre
set on the new and improved Free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
I don't know James Comany's mama, so I don't know
if is mama raised him better than this or if
he's just, you know, just the apple that didn't fall
very far from the from the family tree. I have
no idea, but I do know that he's more than
happy to go on national television and make excuses for
the eighty six forty seven thing, the Seashell beat shot. Yeah,

(14:58):
so here's James Comy making his the excuses with some
reaction to it.

Speaker 21 (15:02):
I was a grandfather and an author wearing you know,
sweaters and jeans, and then they went for a walk
on the beach and posted a silly picture of shells
to trace. My wife said, why would someone put an
address in the sand? And I said, I don't know.
And we stood over it and I said, you know,
I think it's some kind of like political message. I said, well,
to me, as a kid had always meant to leave

(15:22):
a place to ditch a place, I said, that's really clever.
So then she said, should take a picture of that
is a goofball.

Speaker 8 (15:29):
I think that's the best way to describe it.

Speaker 22 (15:31):
And I get how people say this is overblown, and
that's completely fair if it's coming from the right, But
no one on the left can criticize.

Speaker 8 (15:41):
This, Sorry, Jessica, because how.

Speaker 22 (15:44):
Many articles were written about the Nazi origins of the
Okay sign and green frogs. You know, they turned Tesla
cars into justifiable targets of hate by linking them to Nazism.
You know, every single outrage to existential threats was based
on mind reading that they knew somehow what we were thinking.

(16:05):
So if you saw somebody in a Maga hat, that
meant they wanted to go back to the.

Speaker 8 (16:09):
Era of slavery. They would make these leaps.

Speaker 22 (16:12):
Remember the taco salad, You know, Trump, Trump's eating a
taco salad, Well, that was an attack on Hispanics to.

Speaker 8 (16:19):
Remember blood bath.

Speaker 22 (16:20):
He was talking about the economy in Detroit or Michigan,
and and then they said, no, he was advocating violence.

Speaker 8 (16:27):
That's true.

Speaker 22 (16:28):
So I think we have and I say we, as
someone on the right, have been dealing with this daily.
James Comey said that he's unbiased because as an FBI
director on Obama, he never played basketball with Obama. Now
could you imagine if Trump had said, you know, I've
never played basketball with Obama, they would.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
Say, oh, and have you not eaten a bucket of
fried chicken with him either?

Speaker 8 (16:52):
How dare you? But you know, it's like, we don't
do that stuff. So you know, once in a while
we can say this.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
Guy's a he's a fruit, a goofball, a nut job,
a wacko.

Speaker 8 (17:02):
Yeah, and those are the medical terms. Those are the
medical terms.

Speaker 14 (17:07):
Huh.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
Let me think about the excuses. Well, let's hear the
excuses one more time.

Speaker 21 (17:11):
I was a grandfather and an author wearing you know,
sweaters and jeans.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Hang on, I was a grandfather and author wearing sweaters
and jeans. What in the HG double L does that
have to do with anything? So he's trying, he's trying
to paint a picture. Yeah, I mean, I just you know,
I'm just a grandfather. You know, I'm author, I'm a
book author. You know, I'm out here wearing my jeans,

(17:37):
taking a walk on the beach with my wife. And oh,
by the way, she's the one that pointed that out,
So nothing like throwing the wife under the bus. If
she hadn't pointed that out, I would have never even
seen that. So so that's her fault, you know, for
showing that. And then you know, and then she thought,
why would why would somebody put their address in the sand?
And I thought, well, yeah, that is kind of weird.

(17:57):
Oh wait a minute, maybe it means something else. Is
anybody buying any of this crap? I'm sure there'll be
a few people who will. And of course you know
that he was on a miss NBC. So nobody's pushing
back at all. No's calling nobody's calling bs. Nobody's saying,
come on, man, nobody's going to believe that. Nobody's going

(18:20):
to believe that you didn't know with eighty six forty
seven Men five twenty six, Hair News Radio seven forty
k trh. Time to take a look at your money.
Good morning to you, Jeff Bellinger.

Speaker 8 (18:29):
And Jimmy, Good morning to you.

Speaker 23 (18:30):
Stocks had modest losses yesterday. Major averages closed a quarter
percent to four tens percent. Lower shares of Home Depot
fell six tenths percent. The Home Improvement Change quarterly results
were weaker than expected. Lowe's just checked in. It's quarterly
sales topped forecasts. Tensions in the Middle East are pushing
up the price of oil. CNN cited US intelligence and

(18:53):
a report that Israel may be gearing up to hit
nuclear facilities in Iran. That report also on the stock
market futures this morning, the Dow futures down four hundred
and fifteen points. Toyota is doubling down on its push
into hybrids. The automaker will discontinue the gas powered RAV
four going forward. The Compact Crossover, the best selling Toyota

(19:16):
vehicle in the US, will only be sold as a hybrid.
From the Fidelity Bloomberg Business Desk, I'm Jeff Bellinger on

Houstonians are looking to leave the city, and coming up

rights of their planes. Details in the minutes ahead. You're
in Houston's Morning News. First, we're checking out that morning

(20:05):
drive once again. Here's sky Mike.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
I do have some closure to tell you about it
East text leaving downtown, if you're trying to go up
to the Loop to sixteen, you're trying to get over
to the heights and go over toward the squeeze. That
remp remains closed until June first. We think we think
it'll be opened by then. But here's the deal. If
you're trying to go downtown trying to go to the heights,
it's an easy heck. You just head over toward LBJ
and bust a U turn at Lockwood. Also that road work,

(20:28):
it's a lifestyle Cadie Freeway outbound from forty five to Studomot.

Speaker 8 (20:32):
Most of us know about it.

Speaker 5 (20:33):
It's three little skinny lanes and the text lot wall
of death. Plus if you're coming down forty five trying
to get onto the KD outbound, that's a little suicide
squeeze ramp. I'm skylike and the Generator Supercenter dot Com
Traffic Center.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
From our KTRH Generator Supercenter twenty four hour Weather Center

k TRH. It is time now for the news. Here's Cliffsonders.

Speaker 6 (21:09):
Hey you, Jimmy five point thirty two on KTRHR top story.

Speaker 20 (21:12):
You cannot leave the American people waiting or wanting.

Speaker 6 (21:16):
Speaker Mike Johnson could bring the Trump Agenda Bill, the
Big Beautiful Bill, to a House floor vote by today.
This after the President met with Republicans yesterday.

Speaker 25 (21:27):
I think we have unbelievablegnity. I think we're going to
get the everything we want, and I think we're going
to have a great Brinkley.

Speaker 6 (21:35):
The President also announcing that construction would begin on the
Golden Dome missile defense system.

Speaker 8 (21:41):
It's similar to what Israel has.

Speaker 6 (21:43):
Texas Congressman Wesley Hunt telling Fox Business, Trump is fulfilling
yet another campaign promise.

Speaker 26 (21:49):
S're in the future, You're going to see a peaceful world.
You're going to see a peaceful America. You're going to
see these world wars that are going to come to
an end over the course of the next few years.
And in doing so, President Trump is also committed to
defend this great nation.

Speaker 6 (22:02):
Elon Musk's SpaceX will help build the system. And speaking
of Elon, he made his future plans clear yesterday.

Speaker 19 (22:09):
In terms of political spending. I'm going to do a
lot less in the future.

Speaker 20 (22:14):
And why is that.

Speaker 19 (22:17):
I think I've done enough.

Speaker 6 (22:18):
And it's also because the Left has threatened him and
literally harassed his business. Five point thirty three on KTRH
on Capitol Hill a mic drop moment. As Secretary of
State Marco Rubio went after Maryland Senator Chris Van Holland
during an appropriations hearing.

Speaker 27 (22:34):
We deported gang members, gang members, including the one that
you had a margarita with, and that guy is a
human trafficker, and that guy is a gang banger.

Speaker 6 (22:43):
Rubio referencing Kilmar Brego Garcia, who the Democrats no longer
talk about, or Democrat delusion. On the Hill, Texas Congressman
Al Green files impeachment papers again. Political analyst lad Davidia says,
grant standing as all the Democrats.

Speaker 28 (22:58):
Have forbod like Congresson Algreen, who is a completely inarticulate,
unaccomplished politician, It's not surprising to hear him push that
radical ideology and that radical agenda.

Speaker 6 (23:13):
Now Green claims impeachment is the only way to stop
what he calls Trump's military takeover. It's now five point
thirty four Ian Austin. The state House moves on property taxes,
approving increases to both the standard and elderly homestead exemptions.
The rest of the reform package still needs to be
hashed out between the House Senate. Troubling news heading into

(23:35):
hurricane season, a third party audit shows that Center Point
did not use the billions of dollars worth of generators

Year, Centerpoint did not follow its own procedures. There was
clearly a relationship between the CEO of Centerpoint at the
time and the company that supplied the generators.

Speaker 6 (23:56):
The Centerpoint spin, by the way, is that these generators
are meant for rare blackouts that occur when state power
plants don't generate enough electricity to meet demand. The annual
survey done by RICE reveals that almost half of Ustonians
have considered moving.

Right Jim Gaffigan, of course having fun with Dunkin Donuts.
The reason why I bring up Dunkin Donuts is a partnership.
I guess the partnership has actually been around for the
better part twenty years. Jet Blue partnered up with Duncan Donuts.
They now have a brand new coffee themed plane. It's
called Brewing Brewing Attitude. It's their new airbus, a three

(27:15):
twenty aircraft covered with Duncan's signature bright pink and orange colors,
complete with a donut and a cup of coffee on
either side of the tail. Duncan has been a part
of the Jet Blue journey for nearly two decades, and
they say they're proud to showcase the partnership by doing this. Evidently,
if you fly on board the plane, you get some

(27:35):
pretty good coffee from Dunkin Donuts. You also get free coffee, donuts,
and a donut neck pillow, at least on some of
the initial flights. According to a statement from Jet Blue,
the pink and orange aircraft will soon be expanding out
of Boston, making its way across the airline's network. You
know what Jet Blue has done? This is actually quite genius.
Jet Blue has sold the naming rights of planes. Is

(27:59):
this the first of many? This seems like a great
way for airlines to make money. I mean they're always
I would much rather you had a corporate logo on
your plane than to keep charging me, you know, baggage

fees and all these and all these other exorbitant fees.
Could we get the price of the tickets back down

I'll go for it.

Why not?

Speaker 4 (33:49):
KTRH five fifty two is our time here in Newston's
morning news. I mean quickly reach a point here that
you call for the Harris County s Sheriff's Department. And
they don't have a whole lot of depth needs to
send out. I guess we could get there. There's a
huge pay disparagy coming right now for Harris County Sheriff's deputies.

(34:09):
I think it's I want to say, it's somewhere around
a twenty four thousand dollars difference between what they're gonna
be paying police officers in Houston now and what they
they traditionally pay. Harris County Sheriff's deputies Linda Hildago pleted poverty. Well,
we're gonna have to We're gonna have to increase taxes
if we're going to give these guys a raise. While
in the meantime she's out there planning a trip to Paris, right,

(34:30):
Jose Lopez joins as president of the Harris County Deputies organization.
So the county is pleting poverty, Jose. But at the
end of the day here, something's going to have to
happen on behalf of the Harris County sheriffs.

Speaker 36 (34:43):
And that is absolutely correct. Something's going to have to
happen because we are going to lose deputies in large numbers,
particularly to the Houston Police Department.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
Well, there's a huge shortage. I want to say, there's
at least five hundred police officers short in the city
of Houston.

Speaker 36 (35:03):
Correct, So the city of Houston wants to fill one thousand,
two hundred police officer positions.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
Wow, that's a lot of spots. How many deputies do
you have in Harris County?

Speaker 36 (35:20):
So we have nineteen one hundred deputies. That's total deputies,
that's detectives, that bay lives working in the jails, transportation
patrol deputies we have about five hundred.

Speaker 4 (35:37):
So they hired every one of your patrol deputies and
left Harris Nuncey Sharf's Barber with any patrol deputies, they
would still have a shortage of officers. So it's very
conceivable they could all leave for the Houston Police Department.

Speaker 36 (35:52):
Absolutely, and that's where the sounding the alarms was a
necessary because of just how many of the Houston Police
Department is trying to fill. And yeah, absolutely, they take
all of our patrol deputies, it's going to leave us
no deputies to patrol the streets. And yes, you're absolutely correct.

(36:16):
They still have room to recruit from other agencies deputy
constables or you know, surrounding agencies.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
What has been recruitment What has recruitment been like for
the Harris County Sheriff's Deputies organization with the pay rate
that you have right now, has been difficult to attract officers.

Speaker 36 (36:38):
Absolutely, it's difficult to attract officers because the surrounding law
enforcement agencies are paying more than what the Harris County
Sheriff's Office is paying. With that being said, it's also
has been difficult to retain what the deputies that we have.
Now for the past several years, we have been losing

(37:01):
deputies to surrounding law enforcement agencies that pay more. But
we've been losing them in seven deputies, eight deputies, ten, three,
so on and so forth. The danger part here is
just the number of Houston police officers that they're trying
to get.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
So any idea Jose Lopez, how much it costs to
train Harris County deputy? How much money is invested in
the training of a brand new deputy.

Speaker 36 (37:33):
It's roughly around ninety thousand dollars per cadet.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
Okay, So every time you have somebody leave, you have
to spend ninety thousand dollars to train somebody else to
take that job. And if you're talking about hundreds of jobs,
you're talking about a massive sum of money. There would
be cheaper just to pay them more to keep them here.
Wouldn't it constantly retain people?

Speaker 36 (37:55):
Absolutely absolutely, it's cheaper to pay them to retain what
we have and also the basic Peace Office course is
ten months long and then they go through a three
month of FTO program, so it's a total of thirteen
months and then for them just to you know, just

(38:17):
to go where they're going to pay them more.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
Yeah, yeah, to train them for somebody else as it
turns out, all right, Jose Lopez, thank you, sir, appreciate
the information. That's the president of the Harris County Deputies Organization.

So thinking about booking a last minute Airbnb for Memorial

Speaker 8 (45:40):
Yeah, maybe not.

Speaker 4 (45:41):
Airbnb has their anti party technology and effect for Memorial
Day weekend. Also, by the way, for the fourth of July,
fourth year they've done.

Speaker 8 (45:50):
It.

Speaker 4 (45:51):
Doesn't mean, by the way, that they're just listening in
to see if you're being too loud. It's an algorithm
that looks for red flags when you're booking a place.
The red flags is a last minute booking. You know,
you waited until you waited until like now, for example,
to book for this weekend. That's pretty rare. People normally

(46:12):
book well ahead of time for a holiday weekend, so
that would be a red flag to them. Also, if
you're booking a huge house and your home address is
like just a matter of a few miles away. So like,
let's say you're booking an Airbnb down in Galveston and
you live here. I mean, that'd be kind of a

(46:33):
tough thing to figure out though, right because people drive
to to Galveston to go to the beach all the time,
so it get it might get your red flag, might
get you a few questions being asked it has been
evidently fairly effective. And by the way, Texas was one
of the biggest states where they circumvented some of these
party bookings. They say, according to Airbnb, they have prevented

(46:56):
over fifty thousand bookings last year alone, of them being
in Texas, Florida, in California. That's where the biggest party
houses were. Evidently Texas, Florida and California.

Is a multi faceted cover up that's being covered. Up
six twenty three is our time here In Houston's Warning.
News Doctor Robin armstrong joins. Us we have all these
books coming out, Now Dr, armstrong from the same people
who are covering up the cover up to begin with
members of the, media The Jake tappers of the, world
and we're finding out all sorts of things that don't

(52:33):
surprise most of, US i, guess other than the fact
that it's pretty clear That President biden was not running the,
country was not the one who was making executive orders or,
pardons probably that was done with an auto. Pen we
have to get to the bottom of who was signing
all these, papers don't?

Speaker 14 (52:49):
We, yes, Absolutely. Jimmy this is the biggest cover up
In american. HISTORY i, mean when we think about, it you,
know we had we elected The american people will elected
someone allegedly in a rigged, election but they elected someone
to be president of The United. States we expect that
person is making decisions and leading our, nation the most

(53:11):
powerful nation in the. World and now we know for.
Sure we've known this for. Years jimmy's known this for.
Years i've known this for many. Years but now The
left is understanding and and and coming to some of
them are coming to the realization some of them knew
it and were covering it, up that That President biden
was demented and incapacitated and should not been should not

(53:34):
have been president of The United. States they should have
been voked to twenty Fifth. Amendment it was their responsibility
to do. IT i believe The democrats will suffer many
many elections in the. Future they will lose because of this.
Issue it is the biggest scandal and cover up in,
history AND i think it has to be investigated by CASPUTILITY.
Fbi it has to we have to figure out who

(53:54):
was running the country for the last four. Years, well
if nothing else. TOO i, mean you go back over
those executive. Orders of course many of them were overturned
By President, trump but you go back over those orders,
if if if any of them were not signed by
really signed By President, biden whether it's using an autopan or.
Not if they were signed by somebody, else They're nolan,
void wouldn't they, Be, well absolutely absolutely they would Be Noelan.

(54:18):
Voyd what about the? Pardons, right the pardons certainly should
Be nolan. Void BUT i really believe that that who
was providing the direction for the country is the big.
QUESTION i, mean we had radical, staffers radical bureaucracy members

(54:38):
who were providing the direction for the, country not the
president of The United. States AND i believe that that
IS i believe that people should go to. PRISON i
believe it's treasonous what happened over The biden, years AND
i think That Cash mattil has to investigate. That we
have to figure out who was running our, country because,
yes the, pardons the executive, orders the direction of the.

(55:00):
Country who was making foreign policy, decisions who was interacting
with these foreign leaders on these private. Calls we have
to know all of this because it's a it's a
constitutional crisis when we've elected someone but he's been. Led
this is how this is how communists take over in the.
Past you, know The communists have a long history of

(55:21):
leaders who who no one knew who was in control
because they were Incapacitated america cannot go down this. Path
we have to know what was going on in the
last four years has to be, investigated and we have
to people have to go to jail for this.

other politicians.

Speaker 45 (01:22:22):
Did but but and it's actually the same case as
a lot of times When i've gone in and talked
To Donald. Trump that didn't seem to me to get
in the way Of Joe biden being able to analyze
the most important. Issues AND i certainly think he has
a better grasp on it than probably the overwhelming majority

(01:22:44):
of his critics there certainly did WHEN i spoke with.

Speaker 37 (01:22:46):
Him Joe scarborough is in, denial and his words will
come back to haunt him for as long as he
is on the, air because he was the guy and
he's trying to kind of slack, it gloss over it
a little. Bit right, now give it a favorable, finish
which isn't gonna do any good because when you go
back and look at the original, tape he's, like this
is the Best Joe, biden and he keeps going back

(01:23:07):
to analysis like his analysis is spot, on he is,
sharp he is, fast and it's, like, no he was
a withering vegetable who had real problems and everyone around
him knew. It and now they're all going on and
off the record to a number of different. Authors we've
got four books accounting About biden's cognitive decline to tell

(01:23:29):
the opposite picture of the magical interactions That Joe scarborough
And Joe biden, had which you, know all you had
to do was look At Joe biden every other second
of the day to know that something was terribly. Wrong
and the prostate, cancer metastatic prostate. Cancer that diagnosis is
awful AND i wouldn't wish that on. Anyone you, know

(01:23:53):
it's terribly sad and concerning that a family has to
deal with something like, That but they have managed to politicize,
it and you have to think logic would dictate that
they've known about that diagnosis for a long. Time it
is incredibly inconvenient for his post presidency because the other
post presidencies have been very lucrative in modern, history and

(01:24:14):
he will not.

Speaker 8 (01:24:14):
Get to enjoy.

Speaker 37 (01:24:16):
That and so it feels like they kind of put
that news in there to because they were bookended by
the her tapes and of course the book that came
out Today Original, sin and they both draw a very damning.

Speaker 4 (01:24:30):

Twenty two our Time Here In. HOUSTON'S Warning news a
right survey is always interesting to watch these kinder Surveys Out,
of rice university where they poll people and basically ask
them about the quality of Life In the. Greater houston
area there's a lot of very positive. Things in, there
for example about eighty percent of residents in all three
Counties In the greater houston metro Said that the houston
area was a better place to live compared to other

(01:29:40):
major metropolitan areas. Around the country. That's a positive but
for people living within the combines of The, city of
houston their number one concerns are. Crime And safety period
that is. The biggest thing they love the diversity. Of
the city they love a lot of other things, about
the city, the sports scene a lot, of other things
but crime and safety is far and. Away number one
that makes it pretty easy to know what needs to

(01:30:02):
be honed. In On Right doctor, GREG freeman JOINS Us. Retired, hpd,
captain welcome sir you're not surprised. By this survey, i'm, Guessing,
No no.

Speaker 31 (01:30:11):
Jimmy i'm nottton thanks for. Having me on crime and
safety has, always been paramount and fear of crime has
been a huge motivating factor for what we've seen as
a mass exodus in most urban cities over the last fifty.
To sixty years we've seen it play, out, many times.

Speaker 4 (01:30:28):
Yeah we have I'm originally From michigan and detroit is
probably the oldest example of flight, to the suburbs going
way back to the, nineteen sixty seven and many other
cities have seen. The same thing that's certainly something we
do not want To, see in houston where people just
get up and leave because they just don't count on
their ability. To, stay safe.

Speaker 31 (01:30:50):
No we don't and we've seen a resurgence in, the
inner city the rebuilding of, the. Infrastructure midtown uptown the
downtown area twenty five thirty years, ago was desolate only
had the police, and homeless people and now it's a
vibrant part of. The INNER city so i do think
you can see elements of the city coming back where
they're trying to improve the infrastructure and improve the safety.

(01:31:12):
And quality life but fear and crime is still a
huge driving motivation for people being scared and they don't
want to live in that, type of area and that's
why we're, going to.

Speaker 4 (01:31:21):
Move you know the thing that really strikes. ABOUT this
story i wish it were. A simple, answer we, don't
for Example that The city of houston needs to hire
a whole lot. More police officers the mayor has gotten
a good raise for the. Police officers Union Of course harriskoni.
Shriff's deputies have now they have a major problem, because
of that and maybe some of them are going to.

(01:31:42):
Be crossing over many of them may crossover to work
For For the houston police because of the. Difference in
pay but that's only part of the problem as it
relates to crime and Safety in The. City of houston
our court system is the real big problem as far,
as repeat offenders don't?

Speaker 31 (01:31:58):
YOU think, absolutely i, mean you know and just looking
quickly at the staffing issues, of our department we still
have the same number of police officers today that we had,
twenty years ago which is about. Fifty three hundred our population,
has increased exponentially almost. By a million but regardless of

something one. Hundred to nothing.

One.

Speaker 4 (01:41:39):
Hundred to nothing, they all agreed when's the last? TIME
that happened i guess it happens more often than you,
think it does just because you know there's procedural things
that they do that they can. All agree on but
as far, as a policy when's the last? Time that
happened it's. Been a while they all voted Unanimously To
codify president trump no. Taxes on tips i'm not quite sure.

(01:42:04):
Why they did that is. A separate measure do they
not have confidence in the big beautiful bill getting in?

Speaker 8 (01:42:11):
Front of.

Speaker 4 (01:42:11):
Them maybe not i'd hate to think that they're going,
to have, to you know take every little piece of
The big beautiful bill and vote on them on. An
individual basis that will take forever in order to. Get
anything done but no? Taxes on tips how about? The
next one let's how about? Social security relief i'm. Not
sure that HERE'S here's how i thought the bill was,

(01:42:32):
supposed to be versus what. It might be my understanding
was Is that social security benefits would no longer be,
taxed over time would no. Longer be Taxed those were
those are a couple more things Supposedly In The. Big
beautiful Bill but what i'm looking at it says that
the bill would provide Tax Relief to social security recipients
by reducing taxes. On their benefits how about eliminating taxes?

(01:42:57):
On their benefits other other? Breaks in there again the
no tax on, not just tips but also no, tax
on overtime and some other provisions that Are In The.
Big beautiful bill like everything, else in, life you know
there's a, there's the budget there's a lot of things
as a part of that huge bill that we probably

(01:43:17):
don't even know what. Are in there and we probably
Not To quote NANCY pelosi because i rarely like, to
do that but we. May have to we may have,
to pass it divine out. What's in it that's the
way it usually. Seems to work seven forty time for traffic.

we had it affecting the ramp here and the backup
was about an hour. For a while from what some,
callers were saying but. This is westbound looks like that's out.
Of the way i'm double checking with the PRETTY. Ladies

have the cloud cover but it's been that. Way every
morning though we start off, with the cloud cover then
we'd burn it off and.

Speaker 20 (01:44:56):
End, up with sunshine yeah we should, see some sunshine
today but we do have a the front is stalled,
right along the coast and so we're seeing some clouds,
in relation to that and the upper level winds are,
out Of the southwest so i'm seeing some clouds that,
are hugging the coast but there's some breaks and we'll
see a little bit. Of sunshine later today main thing
is most of us are. Dry near the coast there's

(01:45:17):
that slight chance, of a SHOWER today but otherwise i
think most. Of us are dry we definitely have a little.
Less eat in humidity that's kind of a nice change of,
pace because After all it is may upper eighties. To
load nineties today now we're gonna warm up and a
little more humidity to go along with it, tomorrow through
the weekend load of Mid. Nineties tomorrow through sunday there's No,

(01:45:42):
rain though until sunday and then it's only a twenty
percent chance. Of a shower thunderstorm there's actually a Better
chance Of rain monday and. Tuesday up next week so

better if if all the. Airlines looked at this maybe
it's a revenue opportunity for them and they can maybe
they can get the prices, down on the airfare which
are some, of these, airfare prices especially overseas are. Just
incredibly ridiculously high maybe they could bring the prices down

That big beautiful bill president to. Lobbing very hard Yesterday,
he went, to congress you know trying To get the
chip roys of the world in line To Vote For.
The big beautiful bill i'm not sure. HOW successfull he
was i. Guess we'll find out also Trotting Out, yesterday
was steve miron he's The chair Of The, council of

(01:49:21):
economic advisors to talk about how good For The Economy
the big. Beautiful Bill would Be The council of economic
advisor has just put. Out a white paper.

Speaker 39 (01:49:30):
It's on our website you CAN get into the Ca
Website on The White house, the white house website and
we found exactly what you said that over, the next four,
years the tax bill the, one big, beautiful bill WOULD,
boost would boost gdp would boost the economy by about
four point two to five point two percent over the
next four years relative to what happens that. The bill
doesn't pass it'll create about, seven million new jobs and

(01:49:50):
it'll boost take home pay for a typical family of
four take home pay by about eight thousand.

Speaker 14 (01:49:55):
To.

Speaker 8 (01:49:55):
Thirteen thousand dollars right so these are, very.

Speaker 39 (01:49:58):
Significant growth effects and that's why it's so critical that
we get this.

Speaker 19 (01:50:01):
Bill over the line so help.

Speaker 8 (01:50:02):
ME out on.

Speaker 46 (01:50:03):
THIS i don't understand i keep, reading In Various Publications,
the Wall, street journal in alswoer the news pages of
These papers that the republican plan is going to increase
deficits by three trillion dollars over.

Speaker 8 (01:50:20):
The NEXT ten years but i think.

Speaker 39 (01:50:22):
It's really unfortunate that this conversation tends to BE dominated
by the cbo scoring Process Because This the congressional budget
office leaves out so much when. They're calculating their scores
here's all the things they leave out that are going
to bring. The deficit way down they leave at the
fact that this that this bill is. Going to boost
growth it's going, to boost economic. Growth which is huge
we get economic. Growth to three percent it creates four
trillion new. Revenues, over a decade. Right that's number one number.

(01:50:45):
Two is tariff revenue we're taking in hundreds of billions
on the on an annualized. Basis of tariff revenue that
brings down deficit ANOTHER. Percentage point of gdp number three
is going. To be interest expenses this bill and. Deregulation
together kill inflation by pushing out, the suppliesid the economy.
We kill inflation completely that allows interest rates to come
down if they come down to WHERE. They were before

(01:51:05):
covid it's another point at least. Off of the deficit, and, then,
there's custom. Waste fraud and abuse, between all these things
WE can reduce s deefsit by about three to four PERCENTAGE.
Points worth of gdp this is huge and none of it's.
In the scoring process so it's REALLY unfortunate that the
cbo scoring. Process dominates the conversation SO How Does The?
Cbo commercial budget office how do they figure out what

(01:51:25):
something costs or doesn't cost if they don't? Consider all
those things how can you? Possibly figure it out if
you don't? Consider all, Those things.

Speaker 4 (01:51:37):
You can so YOU, can't Trust The Cbo the congressional
budget office for what They're Saying About. The, big BEAUTIFUL
bill now am i here trying To Tell You the big? Beautiful,
bill is perfect. No no it's not but, it is
a far far cry better than anything we've seen Come
Out of the united. States, GOVERNMENT and, forever so i
mean who doesn't want To Get?

Speaker 31 (01:51:58):
Rid?

Speaker 4 (01:51:59):
OF social, security type i mean you already paid your
taxes When You. Paid into social security you shouldn't. Have
to pay them you shouldn't have to. Consider it income
anymore it's just A Withdrawal from your social security Account
as far as, i'm concerned by anyway we'll See how,
successful the president was and whether not this big beautiful
bill ends up getting passed here in the next Few.
Days in the house something tells me it's going to

(01:52:21):
take more than One trip from the president in order
to be able. To make this happen but he is pretty. Good, at, persuading,
people hey listen y'all. Have a great day i'll, see
you tomorrow morning bright and early at five Am here
