snap benefit cuts? How'd we ever get that many people
on Snap? And coming up at five o'h eight, it
is the world's heaviest pumpkin. Details in the minutes ahead. First,

Speaker 6 (01:54):
Thank you, Jimmy. It's five h two on KTRH shower
top story.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
This is a massive cup. Every pardon should be declared.
Speaker 6 (02:02):
Nol and Voyd House Overside Committee Chair James Comer on
the Biden Auto Pen report. Comer says staffers went weeks, months,
steven years without communicating with the former president. He wants
the DOJ involved, so do other Republicans.
Speaker 7 (02:16):
They made money on the pardons, and I just guarantee you,
if you follow the money, you will find the story here.
And I hope that's what dog will do. I hope
they'll go after the money big time.
Speaker 6 (02:25):
Missouri Republican Senator Josh Holly on Fox Elsewhere in Washington.
Today is day twenty nine of the shutdown. President Trump,
a board Air Force One, says it gives Republicans a
chance to finally replace Obamacare.
Speaker 8 (02:39):
It never worked, it never will work, It'll never be good.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
And I think it's a great.
Speaker 8 (02:44):
Time for the Republicans and Democrats to get together and
make something that will work.
Speaker 6 (02:49):
Trump is in South Korea today.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
More on that.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
At six point thirty, Senate Dems voted for the thirteenth
time against reopening things. The shutdown caused a brief ground
stop at Bush and Hobby yesterday. As of now, no
ground stops our plan for today. Air traffic controllers also
missed their first paycheck due to the Schumer mess. Transportation
Secretary Sean Duffy says There's only so much they can
(03:14):
do without funding.
Speaker 9 (03:16):
I've been clear to our air traffic controllers they need
to show up for work. They do really important work
for our country, and they need to show up well.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
Then, forty three hundred flights were delayed nationwide yesterday. Forty
two million Americans could lose their SNAP benefits if this
whole thing doesn't end by November. First, how did so
many become reliant on SNAP food stamps in the first place.
Speaker 10 (03:41):
On top of the inevitable fraud, we've also seen massive
expansions of the programs.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Over the last several years.
Speaker 11 (03:47):
You've seen an explosion and not just the amount of
subsidies you can get, but also who can actually get them.
Speaker 10 (03:54):
Heritage Foundation economist EJ. And Tony says this is the
predictable result of setting up massive welfare systems.
Speaker 11 (04:00):
If you subsidize something, you get more of it. If
you tax something, you get less of it than. What
we've been doing is taxing work, and we've been subsidizing
not working.
Speaker 10 (04:08):
You know that this is also creating a massive burden
for taxpayers, and we should start looking at alternatives. Ethan
Buchanan News Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 6 (04:16):
It's now five h four. Any Democrat that wants to
run for president in twenty twenty eight will have to
bend the knee to the radicals. California Congressman Eric Swalwell
is demanding every candidate promise to demolish the new White
House ballroom. Republican strategist Matt Locke says the Dems have
a brand new playbook.
Speaker 12 (04:34):
The reason they're upset is Donald Trump is once again
outdone that the Democrat Party is now run by the
Communist Party. It's going to be Mandani, it's going to
be AOC, it's going to be Bernie Sanders.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
So of course communists, what do they do? They destroy?
Speaker 6 (04:47):
The two hundred and fifty million dollars project is being
privately funded now. Dems have been comparing Trump to Hitler forever,
but Msnbcason and Carl Wallace recently claimed, along with an
interview with Illinois go or JB. Pritzker, that no Democrats
were doing that. But the internet never forgets. What is
the natural extension?
Speaker 13 (05:09):
Justin if he pursues this to Harvard and.
Speaker 6 (05:11):
Beyond, it was an authoritarian lead at several.
Speaker 14 (05:14):
Decades back told that altfit left hit came to Palau
and the scientist left.
Speaker 6 (05:18):
That was just one of the many examples exposed on
social media this week. Five oh five. Here at home,
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton ensues a major pharmaceutical company.
Speaker 15 (05:29):
We're suing Johnson and Johnson and ken View, which is
a subsidiary or of spin off of Johnson Johnson, for
the distribution of Taylan, all without disclosing the potential side
effects of that medicine accent.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
With Walton and Johnson. On our sister station nine point
fifty KPRC, City Council in Houston heard more details of
that proposed homeless shelter in East downtown.
Speaker 16 (05:53):
By design, it's taking you know, a lot of drop
offs with nonprofits, not just law enforcement or other first responders,
but other nonprofits. There's a lot of different groups that
are working in this space.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
City Council delayed to vote last week after strong opposition
from residents. They could vote today at five oh six.
Looking at your money, All eyes are on the Federal
Reserve ahead of today's interest rate decision.
Speaker 17 (06:19):
The Fed is widely expected to cut the benchmark rate
by twenty five bases points, which would match the cut
from last month, but financial planner Richard Rosso says conditions
are hardly ripe for a cut.
Speaker 18 (06:29):
A lot of financial advisories and people that follow the
FED for a living that are saying, listen, we probably
don't need another rate cut, you know, So after this one,
the odds got dramatically that you'll get another one before.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
The end of the year. You know.
Speaker 17 (06:40):
It's that the annual inflation rate remains at three percent,
a full point above the fed's target. Still, the markets
are predicting a more than ninety percent chance of a
rate cut today. Coreyolson news Radio seven forty KTRHL.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
Overnight futures are mixed so far down gain one hundred
and sixty one yesterday to close it a new record high,
and the Rockets are on the road in Toronto. Pregame
four point thirty on Sports Talk seven ninety. I'm Cliff
Saunders on Houston's News, weather and traffic station news Radio
seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 19 (07:09):
What happened, Why it happened, The information you need to
start the day. Now back to Houston's morning news.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Bie.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
Oh wait, it is our time. You're a Newiston's Mornings. Oh,
this is a big pumpkin, right here. It's a new
world record for a pumpkin. It wasn't growing here in
the United States, it has grown in Great Britain. Two
British twin brothers who've been growing giant pumpkins over fifty years,
have scored a world record. One of the pumpkins they
harvested this year weighs you ready two thousand, eight hundred
(07:41):
and nineteen pounds in four ounces. What they included the ounces? Yep,
eight hundred nineteen pounds in four ounces. It is also
the largest pumpkin by circumference two hundred and fifty five
point eight inches. That is over twenty one feet wide. Cheese, No,
(08:03):
I guess it wouldn't be twenty one feet by. It
would be twenty one feet around, not wide, wouldn't be
that wide, but that's still that's big. The guys' names
are Ian and Stuart Patten. They started growing super sized
gords in their early teens. Now they're in their mid sixties.
They nicknamed the pumpkin Muggle, inspired by the Harry Potter franchise. Again,
(08:25):
two than eight hundred and nineteen pounds four ounces. How
many pies could you get out of? But pumpkin that big?
By the way, I'm very proud of myself. I have
done nothing pumpkin so far this year. I have not
had any pumpkin pie yet, not as I said yet,
I have not had any a pumpkin latte. I have
(08:45):
not bought anything pumpkin spice. I have not even bought
a pumpkin air freshener of any sort. I am pumpkin
free and we're only two days away from Halloween. Hey,
listen the Snap. I want to get into the Snap
thing a little bit more this morning too. I don't
know if we do a Question of the Day on
this one. I have to think if we do, I
have to think of what a good question would be
(09:06):
for this. But I'm blown away by the idea that
we have forty two million Americans getting Snap benefits. And
I think one of the things that set me off
yesterday I'm watching Fox twenty six before the World Series
game comes on, and I'm watching the news and Heather Sullivan,
who's one of one of their reporters there, is doing
(09:26):
an interview with a woman whose Snap benefits are going
to be missing starting next week. She is like twenty
five twenty six years old. She has four children, she
has no husband, near as I can tell, she never
has had a husband. She has four children, so and
they're all they're all young, and she relies on snap
(09:50):
benefits defeat her family. And I'm saying to myself, Okay,
I get you have one child, maybe maybe even two children.
What are you doing with kids without any other means
of support?
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Why?
Speaker 4 (10:06):
How do we ever get ourselves in a situation where
we made this so socially acceptable to have all these
kids and depend on government assistance in order to raise
the kids. We don't make any judgments about these people anymore.
Five ten, Time for traffic and weather together. This guy, Mike,
what you got?
Speaker 1 (10:24):
This is good?
Speaker 5 (10:24):
The cheese is so good, though, if you had any
of that government cheese, Oh what government cheese?
Speaker 1 (10:28):
If anybody get say government cheese, please drop it by here.
We don't like to have it American cheese, at least.
Speaker 5 (10:34):
I can't believe they used to serve it like in
school lunches, you know, back in our day. I don't
know if they did that where you went to school,
But what did but Rachel, and if you had government
cheese out there, yeah, let us know. Let's go to
the north side here, and we'll check out I forty five.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
I don't think anyone in the Woodlands get SNAP benefits.
Speaker 5 (10:53):
But we're looking at twenty three minutes now from forty
five down into downtown Conroe. You're looking good if you're
living in April Sound. I don't think they even know
what SNAP is in April Sound. Coming on one oh five,
we look good here, and then forty five the usual
little craziness right there at three thirty six.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
We don't have that yet, we will and we don't
have our wreck.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
On forty five it's a Shepherd curve yet southbound twenty
two minutes from the Woodlands, let's flip over here, it's
forty five League City. Look at the causeway. I le'ld
see the onlines are showing a total closure. Again there.
That's another reason you get your traffic from a radio, because, hey, Terry,
it's just as important to know what's not there as
it is to know what is there. So what it
(11:35):
is we're looking at twenty two minutes sound from clear
like up into downtown. And yes, I have decorated my house. Pumpkiny,
I'm in the USA RV Resorts dot Com traffic center.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
What it is what it was, what it will be
from our KTRH top tax defenders twenty four hour Whether
Center Terry, is here anything left to Jamaica this morning, Terry,
Probably not, Probably not a whole lot. That was just
an amazing storm. It seemed to the eye just disappeared
as soon as it hit land. But then again, Jamaica's
got a lot of mountains and terrain that that hurricane
(12:06):
had to go over well.
Speaker 20 (12:07):
And even if the eye did disappear that, you know,
the factors are the winds, which it continued to strengthen
until it made landfall. It was up to one hundred
and eighty five miles an hour. In terms of the winds,
I think there's only been one hurricane that's made landfall
with higher winds than that, and that was probably back
(12:28):
in nineteen thirty five if I recall correctly, and the
pressure made it one of I think it was tied
for second place, maybe third place in terms of the
low pressure. So between you know, one hundred and eighty
five mile an hour winds at the max and the
tropical storm and hurricane force winds that covered the entire island,
(12:51):
the surge and the rainfall, they're going to have an
extended period of recovery.
Speaker 21 (12:56):
And now.
Speaker 20 (12:59):
Melissa is making its way across eastern Cuba, headed for
the Turks and Caicos by tomorrow and then perhaps near Bermuda,
very very close to Bermuda on Friday. So it's not
done yet, so we'll be watching that. Hey, at least,
our weather's nice and quiet, right sunny. Oh my goodness,
(13:20):
it's so much cooler out there right now, and it's
going to be a windy day. We've got a wind
advisory looking at fifteen to twenty five mile an hour
winds a good bit of the day, but gus could
be as high as fifty miles an hour at times.
And on top of that, our temperatures are only mid
to upper sixties. Nice sunny day Tomorrow and Friday, and
temperatures will start to warm up a little bit. We
(13:40):
do have some rain Saturday, about a forty percent chance
of showers Saturday, and then back to sunshine Sunday, so.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
We have a nice sunny day with tropical force winds.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
Is just about exactly right down fifty seven at your
officials Severe weather station News Radio seven forty krh.
Speaker 22 (14:00):
Shually take iten west, but lately, that's been.
Speaker 19 (14:02):
A nightmare KTRH time saving traffic.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Next on the ten. So yesterday, President Trup was in Japan.
While he was there, he talked to the sailors on
board the USS George Washington, and said some vintage Trump
things that we'll share with you coming up next, but
first let's do a little traffic and weather together.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
He made people mad. Look, he made people mad, and
he made people laugh.
Speaker 5 (14:26):
I bet the sailors liked him. Let's go to two
twenty five up. Put on your hard hat, Jimmy. This
is two twenty five outbound eastbound before Independence Highway, which
is where you go to the battlefield. The battleship's not
there anymore. The eastbound it's the stall. He's on the side.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
They're just pointing at things.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
We may need a ninja, and we may need well,
we do date a ninja, but we may block that
right lane on the outbound. Just look out for other stations.
Listeners from the belt inbound, you look good. Nineteen minutes

All right, President Trump and Japan making friends, making deals,
shaking handskissing babies, supporting our troops, dancing for members of
the Navy, yes, he was dancing, you know, doing the
signature Trump dance and talking to them in a way
only President Trump can. So let's hear what part and
(16:16):
least of what the President had to say to the
US Navy serving in Japan, and then get some Democrat
reaction to it all.
Speaker 24 (16:24):
And like past administrations, we will not be politically correct.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
You don't mind that to you when it.
Speaker 8 (16:31):
Comes to defending the United States, We're no longer politically correct.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
We're going to defend our country any way we have to.
Our ultimate strength does not come from equipment. It comes
from the men and women of the.
Speaker 6 (16:45):
Rank and file. That's true.
Speaker 24 (16:46):
It comes from you people, Incredible people, good looking people,
too many good looking people.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
I don't like good looking people. I never liked good
looking people. I'll be honest with you. I've never admitted
that before. But see I'm allowed to see. You know,
we wanted the Supreme Court a thing based on merit.
Speaker 25 (17:04):
You know about j Right, he's saying that Supreme Court
is ugly, That's what he's saying. Contrast Trump bringing home
the bacon for America through trade and peace with the
latest bull crap that the Dems are focused on tampon
Tim pushing a hoax that the president's top priority is
the White House ballroom.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
I can paint any damn picture you want for you.
Speaker 26 (17:23):
They're paying contractors to tear down the East Wing, but
they're not putting money into the food bank that they're
setting on. And when the White House Press Secretary said
the top priority is the ballroom, we could not disagree more.
Speaker 25 (17:33):
Oh my goodness, and jazz. He says Trump policies are
killing people surprise.
Speaker 27 (17:39):
I think that the question should be which party is
truly about being pro life, which party is truly about
the entirety of the United States, and which party is
really more patriotic.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
I'm hoping that.
Speaker 27 (17:53):
All Americans can finally wake up and say, we are
going to prioritize ourselves. We are going to look for
people that maybe we don't think they're super funny or
super entertaining, but they will not try to deal death
to us with every single policy that they hand out.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Hah, God, did jesmind Krockett just say that she's she's
patriotic a pro life? Did you just say that the
Democrats are patriotic in pro life? Because I don't think
anybody's buying that five twenty six. Here on Houston's Morning News,
it's time to take a look at your money as
we check in once again with the folks at Bloomberg.

Speaker 6 (21:43):
That is Fox's Jeff Paul reporting here at home. Democrats

Speaker 33 (22:00):
Hungry people, the hungry children, the hungry veterans, the hungry

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Trump's using them as hostages. How cruel, how vicious.
Speaker 6 (22:09):
More on this and the Biden autopen scandal coming up
at six o'clock. It turns out it wasn't just a
Biden doj that was weaponized. After shocking revelations from a
former Democrat senator.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Remember Joe Manchin.
Speaker 34 (22:23):
He says that Biden allies threatened his family over the

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Better vote for.
Speaker 35 (22:28):
Him to come out and just say, hey, this was

and it's certainly why he left the party.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
That is Bonchie, senior columnist at Red State.
Speaker 35 (22:40):
You know, you're talking about a guy who showed up

What we seven day one is the president wants to
prioritize public safety threats and national security threats. I've also
seven day one, if you're in the country, leader, you're
not off the table. Prioritization doesn't mean you forget about
everybody else.

that makes him a felon. More local judicial overreach, Harris
(23:46):
County District Judge Natalia Cornelio has been publicly reprimanded for
faking a court date so a death row inmate could
be transferred out of jail for an MRI.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Judicial activism is dangerous, plan and simple.
Speaker 37 (24:00):
I think it is a testament to local elections, judicial
elections that we need to pay attention and vote in them,
and participate in them, and make ourselves aware of who
these judges are.
Speaker 6 (24:10):

Speaker 4 (26:11):
AM still a little bit in shock over the forty
two point two million Americans who are on food stamps
otherwise known as the SNAP program. We spent last year
one hundred point three billion dollars in taxpayer money on
food stamps. I'm pretty sure if we were to take
(26:34):
a look at the books, do a deep dive into
who's getting SNAP benefits, we would find that there's some
waste fraud inter use, like there is in every other
government system. There has to be there's no way that
all forty two point two million of these people are
eligible for food stamps. There's income requirements for food stamps,
(26:57):
there's citizenship requirements that that would be one place I
would be looking to qualify for SNAP. You have to
have a certain income and resource limits. You can't have
like twenty five thousand dollars in the bank, for example,
and get SNAP benefits. You have to be below a
certain level of income, you have to be a US
citizen or an eligible non citizen. So here's change number
(27:20):
one if Jimmy were king, that he would make in
the SNAP benefit program is let's remove the people who
are eligible non citizens. If you're a not a citizen
in the United States, you should not be receiving SNAP benefits.
All we do by doing that is encourage people to
come here and to collect government benefits. And many of
them are people who are not even working. By the way,
(27:42):
there are work requirements in most states unless and there
are some notable exceptions for that, unless you have you're
caring for small children, or you're pregnant, which might explain
the story I saw in Fox twenty six yesterday with
a twenty five twenty six year old woman who has
four young children who's fretting over losing her SNAP benefits.
(28:04):
She's not married, she doesn't have she doesn't have another
source of income, she's not working, and she relies on
SNAP benefits to feed her children. Does she have four
children because that's how she can qualify for welfare benefits
or you know what's the story there? So I think
there are ways that we could definitely tighten this program up.
(28:25):
I think we need to start encouraging people to get
out in work. We need to discourage people from having
children for in many cases, no other reason than to
continue to get government benefits in order to support themselves.
There's no way in this country that there should be
forty two million people who need SNAP benefits in order
to survive. Now, this is not to say that we
(28:48):
should abandon children. Those four children from the story I
saw yesterday, this has nothing to do with them. They
did make the decision to be brought into this world.
Their mother did, and we need to find ways to
care for those young children without benefiting adults who are
making very poor decisions. So I would love to know,
(29:10):
if you were king, how would you change SNAP? I mean,
we clearly have to have some sort of a SNAP program.
The question is how do we how do we streamline it,
how do we make sure it's not being abused? You
go to the iHeartRadio, have KTRH, you hit the talkback
button first thing where you're calling from. And if you
were king or president, as the case may be, how
(29:30):
would you change the way we do SNAP benefits? Five
forty time for traffic and weather. It's together.
Speaker 1 (29:35):

Halloween on What are you going to feed them?
Speaker 35 (29:40):

Speaker 5 (29:40):
You know what, I'm gonna get sandwiches and funions. So
if you come by the Ghetto House on Trick or Treat,
I'll give your kids sandwiches and fun yos?
Speaker 1 (29:48):
Use could I use my Snap benefits to buy funions? Yeah,
and some of that cheese come by. Oh that's children
that children. Have you been to Walmart?
Speaker 5 (29:55):
I'm pretty sure that children are eating pretty good. Let's

Speaker 4 (45:00):
Six oh seven. Now here in Houston's fort this you
can turn back time this weekend. You can on Sunday.
It's early this year because the first Sunday in November
is November two, and we switch from daylight saving to
standard time. Here we go again, right, here we go again,
messing with the clocks less, I guess, less objectionable to
some because you had the opportunity maybe to get an
(45:25):
extra hour sleep and get up at the same time.
But it's going to get dark sooner, which I never liked.
There's been a number of bills. I mean, we are
just tackling it here in Texas from the standpoint of
and that's one of the things you could vote on,
by the way, voter approval for switching or asking Congress
for permission to remain on the same time year round.
(45:46):
There are the states that do it. Indiana does it,
Arizona does it. There's no reason why we can't have
Texas time. Why not let's have our own Texas time.
Of course, we have more than one time zone here
in Texas because we're so big. But anyway, I digress.
It's also been taken up on a national level, but
it is going nowhere in Congress.
Speaker 41 (46:05):
Americans will still turn their clocks back an hour on
November two, despite recent pushes to end the practice. The
Hills at Ebink reports that Congress has seen several bipartisan
bills aiming for permanent daylight saving time, but they've stalled
in committees. President Donald Trump, Senator Rick Scott, and Representative
Verne Buchanan have voiced support for locking the clocks. However,
(46:27):
under current law, states can only choose year round standard
time without federal approval. For now, most of the nation
will fall back this November, keeping the twice a year
clock change tradition alive.
Speaker 4 (46:39):
Okay, now that's an interesting aspect I han't really thought of.
So by federal law, we don't have to have federal
permission to go year round standard time, but we would
have to have congressional approval to go year round daylight
saving time. That complicates it a little bit, right at
this point? Is it about having your own dlay saving time?
(47:01):
Is it about having your own standard time? Or do
we are we just tired of messing with the clocks.
I guess we have to figure that out, right, six'
ten time for traffic.
Speaker 5 (47:10):
And, basically, yeah the government could tell you how much
daylight you. Get if you think about, it its absolutely. True,

Well I Guess, natalia cornellio it considers herself not just,
a judge but also. A jury and in, this case
she's not the least been interested in being. An executioner
she's trying to Help A Texas death row inmate by
lying or to help him in his. Particular case she's
(53:05):
been reprimanded now by. The state but all that really
is is a slap on. The wrist and like they
used to say, in school we're going to put this
on your. Permanent, record right it goes on her, PERMANENT record,
I guess but will that make any difference from? Reelection
time let's Talk To. Travis morgan he wrote a story
about This For. Texas scorecard welcome to, The. SHOW travis
(53:28):
i have to wonder how often. This happens is this an,
unusual event do? You think or does this happen more
often than we usually find out about because if it
weren't for the family members in, this case the state
would have never known.
Speaker 50 (53:38):
This Happen, right well in regard to judges actually making
state court dates, TRANSFER prisoners i don't know.
Speaker 1 (53:47):
About that that's it's the First time i've heard.
Speaker 50 (53:50):
Of this but she did blame her staffers for using
a general template form that they fill out as if it's,
standard procedure and now she's gonna make sure oversees the
process better to ensure this never, happens again which does
concern people that maybe this is something that has. Happened
before but in regards To The state Commission On, judicial
(54:10):
conduct just publicly reprimanding judges who have done, terrible things
that is, Very, common.
Speaker 4 (54:17):
Yeah and very, very common in particular Here In. Harris
county she's by far not the only judge who's who's
doing things. Like this, in fact there are some judges
that are much more in your face than. She is
when you get right down to it that that, you
know we have the no cash. Bail problem it's such
a big Problem In. Harris county we had to we
had to get to, you know something on the ballot
(54:37):
and that we're all going to vote On.
Speaker 42 (54:38):
On.
Speaker 50 (54:39):
Tuesday, right yeah And Judged. Nalia cornelio she is. Very
political she is just one of many activist judges that
is that is something that really needs to be looked
out for during. Election season even on her website from
her election it, you know civil rights attorney who is
(54:59):
specifically represent any families separated AT The us mexico border
Under Former president trump's zero tolerance family. Separation policy that's
straight from her website and representing specifically communities of color
disproportionately impacted by our. Justice system it is just Very
typical democrat political talking points and her. Election bid and
(55:20):
so it shouldn't be particularly surprising that she's taking such
a criminal justice stance in. The courtroom but here she's
clearly breaking the law and undermining trust in the. State,
judiciary WELL.
Speaker 4 (55:33):
Like, i said the state is giving her a reprimand
that's not going to make a whole heck of a
lot of difference most people voting won't even know that
she got a reprimand they won't bother to. INVESTIGATE that
i don't know how many people bother to investigate what
her track record is or what she stands for as
far as voting forward to.
Speaker 1 (55:47):
Begin with but when is she up? For reelection that
would be twenty.
Speaker 50 (55:51):
Twenty EIGHT and i guess the bigger, picture here what's
supposed to come of such public reprimands is that an
opponent can bring it up in.
Speaker 1 (56:00):
A campaign the.
Speaker 50 (56:01):
Public may not be aware, of, it certainly and less,
That HAPPENS but i guess our goal in the media
is to let people know when such actions, are taken
so hopefully it is in the public psyche at least a.
Speaker 1 (56:14):
Little.
Speaker 4 (56:14):
Bit well as crime continues to be, A problem i
remain hopeful that people will put more attention and more
detail into who they're voting for, for judges so that
we can get this problem, behind us because until we
start making changes in our voting patterns on who we're
putting on, the bench this.
Speaker 1 (56:28):
Will.
Speaker 50 (56:29):
Continue absolutely and something people like to say in the
legal community is that you really only get one chance.
In court right we vote on, these politicians we can
re elect them and they can. Change policies but if
you're brought into, the courtroom you're in, a crisis you're
sitting before, a.
Speaker 1 (56:47):
Judge you really only get. One shot so whoever is
the judge at, that time that's all. You get.

We're shut down. We're still shutdown we've been shut down.
For a month who knows how much longer this is.
Going to go we've been talking. About snap, benefits they're
ending at. Least For Now speaker mike johnson well along
with a couple of Other. High ranking republicans heres they
had a little chart that he was showing it how
to explain the government's, shut down here and it. Is
(01:12:56):
pretty simple this is why your government, is shut down,
just real.
Speaker 22 (01:13:00):
Quick simple facts because these things get. Obscured too much
but there are simple Facts about the democrats shutdown that everybody.
Needs to recognize here's. Four of them, first of all
we have to have democrats to. Reopen the government you
know That in the senate it requires sixty votes to.
Break an, impass hang, it ont, lily hold it keep
quick close.
Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
To, the podium now want? Anybody, See this okay we're
going to.
Speaker 22 (01:13:21):
MAKE it simple i had my fifteen year old son
and some of his friends were together over the weekend
and they wanted me to explain it to him as.
Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
Simply as possible this is.
Speaker 22 (01:13:30):
The, little, formulation, okay hey Fellows, remember from civics you
got to have sixty Votes. In the senate we only Have,
fifty three republicans so We must have democrats. To Do
it the democrats are out trying to claim that this
Is all on republicans because we. Control the government we
Don't control the senate, without sixty votes so you have. To,
have them now they've, voted Thirteen Times, those senate Democrats
(01:13:51):
counting the House and the senate together to voted thirteen
times to keep. The government closed and what they're demanding
as a ransom to reopen the government are some. Really
crazy things they want to restore two hundred billion dollars
in health benefits PAID for by us taxpayers to illegal aliens.
Speaker 1 (01:14:10):
And non citizens we.
Speaker 22 (01:14:11):
Can't do that they want billions of dollars in wasteful
programs to be returned to foreign countries for things that
none of you. Would agree with we are not going.
To do that they want a half a billion dollars
to go back to left leaning news organizations paid for.
It by taxpayers we. Can't do that and then they
want to cut fifty billion Dollars From The rural Hospital
fund that republicans got Signed into law july fourth to
(01:14:33):
prop up healthcare in red states and rural areas. Around
the country, it's too important but they want to.
Speaker 1 (01:14:39):
Take that away they know that we.
Speaker 22 (01:14:41):
Can't do it and now that they've begun to admit
what this, Is All, about thanks lee you put them on,
the thing, there they're admitting they're admitting what. They're Up to,

Are on snap not that many of our Listeners are,
getting snap benefits but If you're on snap and Forty two,

and there's some other things that won't be happening now
The month of november. Is coming around joining us to
(01:30:30):
Talk About Is. Congressman chip, roy you know we've been,
Talking all morning congressman, About you know snap and how
we have over Forty two million Americans on the snap
program and not all Of Them are, united states citizens
and not all of, them are working and and there's
plenty of other rules changes that maybe could or should
happen to get That number of. Snap recipients down is
(01:30:51):
this an opportunity but the government shut down to.
Speaker 54 (01:30:53):
Make, some changes well great to be. ON the, show
i mean, first of, all, you know look let's, be
VERY clear and i think. You Know this the democrats
are the ones that have chosen. To shut down, and
you know all we Need are five Democrats in the
senate to join with us to do what we did over,
a month ago which is fun to continue In resolution.
Through november twentieth we're going to have to now go
back and maybe pass one that's longer because they refuse to.
(01:31:15):
Do their job we're now running the clock Out on the.
November twentieth date but to the question, of snap benefits this,
is the consequence right we made Reforms In The big
beautiful bill that the vast Majority of the american people wanted.
This to make we had work, Requirements in place we
rooted out a lot of fraud and abuse by making
reforms to the system that would save money in the
(01:31:36):
LONG term on snap benefits but still provide benefits to those.
Who most needed but we still have significant reforms that
we need. To look at what percentage of the, people
on WELFARE including the snap benefits we're getting those that
are saved four and born that are. Potentially illegal aliens
(01:31:57):
but certainly this mass of the immigrant population that is dumped,
into our country both through illegal, and legal immigration how
many of them are using up a lot. Of these
resources there are other reforms we've.
Speaker 1 (01:32:09):
Got to look at that.
Speaker 54 (01:32:10):
You're alluding to that is getting the lights shown on
it by virtue. Of the, SHUTDOWN and look i, Will
say this democrats are. Forcing this shutdown what that Does
Is forces donald trump And my friend rusfos who's the
Head of The Office of management budget to prioritize spending
and have to go through with a. Fine toothed comb, so,
for me look if they want to, play this game
(01:32:31):
then be careful what. You ask for we ought to
be going through this with a fine tooth comb and
making the reforms that are necessary so that we're making, it,
more efficient, effective and affordable because we're racking up debt.

maybe even canceled because of you know what we have
going on with their traffic control and and and people
(01:33:14):
not showing up for work because they're not. Getting a
paycheck does that put More pressure on republicans or does

are being impacted, if you know some of these snap,
benefits aren't flowing people are going to. Be getting frustrated

We knew biden. Was cognitively imperative we covered.
Speaker 55 (01:52:21):
It, Fairly inaccurately right so they put themselves in a
corner where They admitted that biden. Was cognitively declining so
it's hard for them now in the same, breath, To
say yes biden, was cognitively declining but there is no
way he could have had someone take as executive auto
pen and fill, out, These pardons right so they've backed
themselves into a corner where they can no Longer reflexively
