Speaker 1 (00:03):
It's that time, time, time, luck and load.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
So Michael Very Show is.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
On the air.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Monday, December eighth is the filing deadline for primary candidates.
We may yet see another person of note get into
this Senate campaign. I'm not being coy. I don't know
who that would be. These seats don't come open very often.
This is in some ways like an open seat because
(00:52):
Corning is so unpopular, and he really is unpopular. The
only people who don't know he this unpopular are general
election voters, non primary voters, of folks who really don't
know how he votes or what he does. But the
only election that matters at this point is the primary election.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
And when you.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Understand that, most everybody that has a dumb opinion, as
you would decide it's dumb on issues like this, is
not a primary voter. Primary voters are insiders. They're informed.
January first, not so long away, will be the first
day to apply for a ballot by mail.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Then we will.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Proceed to February second, which will be the last day
to register to vote in the primary, and two weeks later,
on February seventeenth, will be the first day of early voting,
and then the last day of early voting will be
February twenty seventh, and then Tuesday, March will be election day,
(02:03):
So not very far away, we will be casting a
ballot for the six year term of the United States
Senator to be if it is Cornyn reelected the senior
Senator from Texas, if it is one of the two challengers,
Paxton or Hunt to be the junior.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Senator, which would make Cruise the senior Senator.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Not terribly important, just one of those old terms you
always heard reference.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
All right, who are you with? And why?
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Make it quick? Get right to it. We'll go right
down the list. We'll start with Cynthia, who are you with?
Speaker 2 (02:37):
And why?
Speaker 4 (02:39):
I am with?
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Wesley Hunt?
Speaker 4 (02:40):
All the way?
Speaker 6 (02:42):
Because he cares about Texas. He wants to keep Texas
Republican and strong, and you know, cornn to go along
to get along, and I just am so excited that
he's entered the race.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Jeremy, who are you with?
Speaker 7 (02:54):
And why I'm with Hunt? Honestly, because this corning can't
figure out what's Dolly actually belongs on, we can only
hope he boiled.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Out, Paul, who are you with? And why I'm gonna
be with?
Speaker 8 (03:09):
Mister Hunt?
Speaker 9 (03:10):
Myself.
Speaker 10 (03:10):
Man, he just seems super articulate and like what he
had to say.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Let's go to Alex who are you with?
Speaker 11 (03:18):
And why I'm with the Wesley Hunt?
Speaker 12 (03:22):
Because if he could do what tech Cruz did to
David Dewhurst, I think we have a very good chance
to say need someone really who really represents Texas.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Thank you, Michael jan Who are you with? And why Well?
Speaker 13 (03:35):
I was actually starting with Paxton, but after listening to Hunt,
I'm definitely going with Hunt. And I've already sent an
email to Corners. It's like months ago saying that I
was going to vote against him. So I want to
get rid of cornering.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Some with Hunt seven nine one.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Thousand RC, who are you with? And why Well? I
didn't my bad hold on ARC start over? That's I
messed up. You're up who you're with? And why.
Speaker 12 (04:03):
Wesley Hunt?
Speaker 11 (04:04):
You can't separate or remove qualities like integrity and discipline
when major decisions, they're being weighed in the.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Balance right seven one three one thousand, seven one three
nine one thousand.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
I have.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Received a number of emails on the race from Paxton
supporters very concerned with Wesley Hunt's entrance into the race.
To which, And they feel certain because many people see
the worst and everything, they feel certain that another candidate
(04:45):
is going to skew the race and help corn And win.
I assure you, well, I can't assure you. I feel
certain at this point that Wesley Hunt's entrance into the
race hurts Cornyn far more than it hurts Paxton. He
will pull votes away from Cornan. I am certain of that.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Now.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
How big that number is is the question.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
There is.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
An anti Cornn mindset, and Paxton has mostly locked that up.
Out of a hundred of those voters, will Wesley Hunt
pull some of those away?
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (05:27):
But there is also an anti Paxton mindset that the
Swamp has spent a lot of money fomenting. And that
is voters who don't like Paxton. In many cases, they
don't know why they've been told they don't like him,
and they didn't come to that opinion independently. Those voters
would go back to Cornan save and except if they
have an alternative. And I think that if they have
(05:49):
an alternative to Cornyn and work for with Paxton for
whatever reason, I.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Think they go to Hunt.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
At this point, I wouldn't say it is a Hunt
Axton primary runoff, But I think keeping Cornyan out of
a runoff, if there were one, and that's very premature
at this point, would be a win in and of itself.
Don't underestimate how hard it is to beat the incumbent.
Don't underestimate how difficult that is. Yeah, there's a lot
(06:22):
of race to run here. This is going to be
it's going to be interesting.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Who are you with and why?
Speaker 7 (06:29):
I'm with Leslie Hunt because I'm a young voter myself
and we need younger, younger.
Speaker 14 (06:35):
Lawmakers in the Senate.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Treveca. Who are you with?
Speaker 15 (06:39):
And why Paxton?
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Because he's proven himself and the Democrats hate him.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
They do hate him. Well, they hate him. Uh Dinah
or dina y.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
No, it's Dinah. I'm voting for Hunt. I'm voting for Hunt.
I love the military, I love the fact that he
he is going to be for Texas all the way,
and he's a Trump supporter, and he's young and we
need young blood in the Senate and get rid of
these old rhinos.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Now, when you say he's from Texas all the way,
you're not worried he's a little bit for New Mexico
or Louisiana.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
No, I think he's going to do the right thing.
I think he's a good man.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
I just want to check. Sorry, Sarah, is that Sarah? Well?
Who knows what it is?
Speaker 9 (07:29):
With?
Speaker 2 (07:30):
When Ramon puts it on the screen? Who are you with?
Speaker 16 (07:32):
In why?
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Sweetheart?
Speaker 17 (07:34):
I am with Wesley Hunt. I hate to lose him
as my rep, but I do believe we need some
new blood. I've watched him for the last few years
in the House. I'm really proud of his voting record.
He's a man of integrity and he is extremely smart.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Andy. Who are you with?
Speaker 1 (07:51):
And why?
Speaker 9 (07:54):
ABC?
Speaker 8 (07:55):
Anybuddy buck Cornyan.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Really sure where to put that?
Speaker 9 (08:04):
Mean?
Speaker 2 (08:04):
I get the mindset, Cynthia, who you with and why?
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Well?
Speaker 18 (08:09):
Thank you Wesley for speaking, But I just want to
go on facts, and so let's look at what she's done.
Speaker 19 (08:15):
He voted with Obama?
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Who are you with?
Speaker 20 (08:19):
At Kim Paxton?
Speaker 13 (08:20):
Because Wesley's not saying anything bad about Kim Paxton.
Speaker 20 (08:24):
Any sonships the vote, I respect them, believe.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Far too soon.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
So Didny has been sentenced to four years in prison
for his sexual proclivities. Freak Off's prostitution.
Speaker 6 (08:45):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
The most notable detail to emerge was butt rape of
young men seeking career advancement. And after his sentencing, where
does his lawyer request he be sent You can't make
(09:06):
this stuff up, fort Dix seven one three one thousand,
seven one three, one thousand.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Who are you with? And why? Rich?
Speaker 14 (09:21):
Go ahead, Paddie.
Speaker 7 (09:24):
I was definitely our state attorney, but now that Wes
is in, I'm probably gonna.
Speaker 21 (09:38):
Go with him.
Speaker 8 (09:38):
Thanks, Why why?
Speaker 7 (09:41):
Because I think Wes will do a better child got
that low car experience, season a born leader, and that's
what we need, is leadership.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
All right, Robin, who are you with? And why?
Speaker 18 (09:58):
I'm with Ken Peck because all the right people hate him,
and I figure that's pretty effective. And furthermore, I am
not all a fan of the military of being in
the Congress because Gollie, look at Crimshaw, what a drag?
(10:19):
So there it is.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Interesting, Levn. Who are you with? And why?
Speaker 22 (10:28):
Yes, good morning, I'm with Wesley Hunt. I think we
need a change from what we've been putting up with.
And he's young and he's experienced, and I think he'd
be good.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
To take.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Joanna. Who are you with? And why?
Speaker 23 (10:46):
I'm with Wesley Hunt? And I would never be with
John Wayne Horning. And I'm glad for somebody young and new,
and I every time I hear him speak, I love
what he says. And also I wanted to say my
past made a comment about John Wayne Corner who said
I voted with Trump ninety nine percent at the time.
(11:06):
He said, that's just like saying I'll be faithful to
you ninety nine percent of the time.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Sorry, I cut you off. Diana, who are you with?
Speaker 24 (11:13):
And why?
Speaker 20 (11:15):
And Paxton all the way?
Speaker 3 (11:16):
He is a proven leader.
Speaker 8 (11:18):
He is a proven fighter.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
That's what we need in Texas, in the country, and
we do not need another Crenshaw.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Experiment one thousand Ray, who are you with?
Speaker 2 (11:29):
And why?
Speaker 25 (11:31):
I'm with Paxson. He's like a Junkyard doll. Even though
I was roommates with mister Hunt's father in college and
Baton Ruins. But I'm going with Paxson. I liked him,
I like his style. He need a Junkyard doll. Take
no prisoners, That's what huh I said?
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Jy d Okay, don't you remember the Jyd He is my.
Speaker 8 (11:56):
Favorite wrestler, Jyd David what.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
He was my favorite raster? The Junkyard Dog.
Speaker 25 (12:03):
Oh, the Junkyard Dog. I don't know about wrestling. I
just know by junkyard dog because I had one A
tough and uh so that's why. Even though Willie Hunt,
which is mister Hunt who's running father and I were
roommates and went to went to school together in Baton,
Ruge at Southern University, Willie Hunt is his name. So
(12:27):
but so it's it's kind of hard for me to
go against him, but paston just proved to me over
the years he takes no prisoners and he'll be great
for Texas.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
Right on, Jeff, who are you with? And why?
Speaker 26 (12:45):
I am with Wesley Hunt? And I'm with him because
I think we needed a new choice, a fresh a
fresh choice. I guess I should say Corning just was
steaking up the room and Packton just wasn't quite bringing it.
He was a good competitor, but he had baggage and
(13:06):
that was bothering me.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Mindy, who are you with and why?
Speaker 27 (13:12):
Paxton?
Speaker 28 (13:13):
He has a proven record fighting Biden in the court system.
Speaker 15 (13:16):
He's a fighter, Jackie.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Who are you with? And why? In Omaha, Nebraska?
Speaker 28 (13:24):
I'm actually not in omahaim and friends with I just
have a four H two area code.
Speaker 29 (13:29):
Still though.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
You know who this is.
Speaker 28 (13:33):
I think I'm kind of between Paxton and Hunt, but
I'm leaning towards Hunt because character.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Counts, Jamie, Who are you with?
Speaker 20 (13:44):
And Why I Am with Paxton? And I think Hunt
possibly is a groom rhino?
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Yeah? Uh, what makes you say that?
Speaker 20 (13:57):
There are some things, some issues that I've for and
it made me going.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Like what.
Speaker 20 (14:06):
There are some things in the service that are overlapping
with Paxton's thoughts. I think Paxton is already a known Trumpster.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Okay, uh, Debrah, Who are you with?
Speaker 1 (14:24):
And Why I Am with?
Speaker 19 (14:27):
Keim Taxton? Although I like Western Hine, I like his message,
but Keim Paxton has a proven record in Texas and
even though he's got all these personal tech ads, obviously
he doesn't have the money to count them, but his
record is what I go by.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Okay, Rick, who are you with?
Speaker 9 (14:45):
And Why I Am with Ken Paxton? Because I love
the way he's fought the Biden uh so the Biden administration,
and I think he stood up with for Texas.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Scott, who are you with? And why? Scott?
Speaker 9 (15:11):
Hey?
Speaker 30 (15:12):
There, I am one hundred percent Ken Paxton and why Hunt?
Looks like you voted for Obama twice? And I can't
go with a candidate that was behind him, right.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Scott number two? Who are you with and who are you?
Speaker 31 (15:29):
Why?
Speaker 32 (15:32):
In Vagstad.
Speaker 11 (15:34):
And why Well, he's been through the fires of litigation,
and I think that says a lot for what.
Speaker 7 (15:43):
The guy could do in Washington, all.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Right, seven one thousand, Bradley, who are you with and why?
Speaker 29 (15:53):
Well?
Speaker 11 (15:54):
Wesley Hunt is a wonderful guy. He's a great guy,
good man. But Ken Paxton his conservatives. He's always been conservative.
He's texting, he's always been texting. And he fights for
Texas and has always fought for Texas and I believe
you always will.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Seven one thousand year calls coming up.
Speaker 16 (16:20):
I'm just sitting here listening to Michael Ferry.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
He's just listening to different insults and be done with it.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
So good? Oh here we are, here, we are anything.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Did you ever watch mister blizz Guys, the documentary on him?
Speaker 2 (16:58):
His house.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Is every room in his house is a different size
with different elements on the wall, so like his his
dining room is not a dining room. It's it's the
big room with the bigger sound and the thicker carpets.
And he's got tiny rooms so he you know, he
records everything in his house, and so it's.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
There's no place to live.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
It's just all he does is record, and he walks
around barefoot in jeans with those goofy glasses on like
he's Hank Junior and a cap on in that that
frizzy fro and he plays the ukulele. He gets, you know,
gets on the keyboard. It just the whole thing is
him telling stories about music throughout as he walks to
his house.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
It's fantastic seven one, three, nine, nine, one thousand. If
you can't get through, keep trying.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
It's the US Senate race March third Republican primary. John Cornyan,
the four term incumbent, challenged by the Attorney General Ken Paxton,
and int the race yesterday Congressman Wesley Hunt.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Who are you with? And why d Who are you with?
And why dear?
Speaker 5 (18:09):
I'd be Michael, I'm sorry. I'm with Paxton's and I'm
real nervous about why Hunt has so much money? Who's
paying for this? I questioned, any Republican that's got loads
of money?
Speaker 2 (18:26):
All right?
Speaker 3 (18:27):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Eight oh six? Who are you with? And why?
Speaker 9 (18:32):
Well?
Speaker 3 (18:32):
I'm with Kim Paxton because I think it's the difference
between somebody that's a street fighter and somebody that's maybe
a professional boxer and has to follow some rules. I
think Kim Paxton goes for the jugular every time, and
he doesn't give up, and he doesn't sometimes play by
all the rules.
Speaker 31 (18:53):
So he's my man, all right?
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Gerald?
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Who are you with? And Why?
Speaker 29 (19:00):
Ken Paxton? Wesley sounds like another full of crap politician.
Sorry to put it that way, but I hate to
be blunt, but I think he deserves it, you know.
I mean, he's a super guy. But I just think
Ken will go up there and fight for us and
do everything that he says he does. He's never let
us down before. J D.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Who are you with and Why?
Speaker 31 (19:24):
Wesley Hut. He's disciplined, he knows his stuff, and I
don't understand why people have a problem because he was
in the military. My goodness, that makes you a much stronger,
more committed, more disciplined person. I think he got what
it takes, and if it wasn't him, then it would
be Ken Paxton.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Mike, who are you with? And Why?
Speaker 15 (19:50):
Going with?
Speaker 8 (19:50):
Wesley?
Speaker 12 (19:52):
A lot of good things about the military, but look
at some of the weak military people on the Democrat side.
So I'm not voting just because he was in the military.
I think he's calm and he's deliberate, and I don't
need a wild card up there.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
All right, I thought, yeah, no, I had to take
a suit. Yeah, I know, it's good. I was just
taking the Civil War. Joe Ellen, who are you with?
Speaker 1 (20:17):
And why?
Speaker 16 (20:19):
I'm definitely with Ken Taxton. He's he is a junkyard dog.
And these people keep saying we need Hunt because he's new,
he's freshed. That's how we got Obama. It ain't about
new and fresh, It's about qualification, all.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
Right, Dell, who are you with? And why?
Speaker 7 (20:40):
I'm with Wesley Hunt because character matters and he's also real.
Speaker 11 (20:44):
He told me he listened to WW growing up and
watched it, and you know, I hope he opens the
candahall best?
Speaker 2 (20:50):
All right, Linda, who are you with and why?
Speaker 27 (20:52):
Yes, I have been supporting Paxton. However, I listen to
you every morning. I'm a new listener in Love It
Texas and love your show. I have been for Paxton,
but after listening to mister Hunt this morning, I'm gonna
check him out a little further.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Victoria, who are you with? And why?
Speaker 16 (21:17):
Good morning?
Speaker 3 (21:18):
I am with Ken Paxton.
Speaker 22 (21:20):
Democrats hate him.
Speaker 4 (21:21):
I love him.
Speaker 19 (21:22):
He's for Texas, He's for what's right. He's been given
a raw deal.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Rick, who are you with and why?
Speaker 31 (21:32):
Hey?
Speaker 8 (21:32):
Good morning, Michael Wesley Hunt all the way new change,
and he's a pilot.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
All right, Todd, who you with and why?
Speaker 33 (21:43):
As a libertarian, I'm for Hunt. Paxton is a freedom
hating Republican. Just look at his record on DraftKings and
anything else THC related.
Speaker 9 (21:54):
He's horrible, all.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Right, Walter, who are you with and why?
Speaker 14 (22:02):
Well? I think Paxton would be wasted in the Senate
because he'd be with no seniority whatsoever. And so because
of my October fantasy, it would be Hunt. My October
fantasy is at Hunt when it's the primary and gets
Corning out and then kicks the Democrats. But and Paxton
then becomes Attorney General because Trump persuades Bondie Babe to
(22:28):
spend time more time with her family in Florida.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Right, keep who are you ideas?
Speaker 15 (22:35):
And I'm for Paxton. I'm for Paxton. My main reason
is the timing of mister Hunts's entry. He uh entered
after what seems mister Paxton had a tremendous lead, so
it kind of smells of DC money to me. He's
proven he can't. Paxton's proven he can't be controlled by
(22:55):
Washington d C. So I think he'd do much better
job for Texas.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Interesting, there is a theory that has been floated that
Cornyn couldn't win, so Hunt was recruited. I heard that
a number of times, and my only response to that
is that if it's the Cornn folks who recruited Hunt,
(23:19):
why are they unloading on him now that he got
into the race. That doesn't really add up. I guess
if you go deep enough into the conspiracy game, you
figure they're unloading to make it seem like I don't
see that. I think Cornyn wants to go back. I
think Cornyn has to be dragged out of the Senate
(23:40):
kicking and screaming. He loves the little game he gets
to play in the life he gets to lead. Oh
there's Lindsey grahamsty speaking of which he's got resting bitch face.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
They're about to go to him. Jennifer, you're on the
Michael Berry Show. Who are you with?
Speaker 31 (23:55):
And I'm voting?
Speaker 21 (23:57):
I'm voting for Ken Paxton. I think he is even
himself to be a fighter on behalf of the people
of the state of Texas. And I disagree with how
Wesley Hunt has missed so many votes in his role
as representative and voting for Obama is a disqualifier for me.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
All right, John, who are you with?
Speaker 15 (24:14):
And why Ken Paxton?
Speaker 34 (24:17):
I think he's been witch hunt and inquisitions after inquisitions
in his closet is made of you know, windows, and
Wesley Hunt just feels very coached, he feels very polished,
he feels and I can't stop thinking about that commercial
with Dan Crenshaw and him, and I just I don't
(24:38):
know I'm going with kN Paxton.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
I didn't see the witch hunt coming. Well done?
Speaker 9 (24:42):
All right?
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Seven one three, one thousand, the Michael Barry Show.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
I guess does no matter how many times I say this,
there are going to be people who grasp it. But
I did not endorse we Hunt, nor Ken Paxton nor
Aaron Wrights. If I endorse a candidate, you will know
because I will say so. I do often provide a platform.
(25:14):
In fact, I have book authors on that I may
not necessarily agree with the premise of their book or
have even read that book. If I'm interested in the subject.
The idea is to treat you as an adult with
a fully functioning brain and let you come to conclusions
on your own. I realize most people don't do that,
(25:36):
but I do. So this is a platform and I
ask questions. It's also important to understand that just because
I ask someone a question, it doesn't mean that I
necessarily believe that to be the case or doubt that.
It's because I want to get that out there for
you to hear and to consider for yourself, which is
(26:01):
my approach seven one thousand ones.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
That clicking in between the calls bother you or no,
it is okay. Somebody said they liked it. I was
just curious.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
I don't hate it, but it's I'm getting used to it.
Oh my goodness, Eric, you're up.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Go ahead.
Speaker 8 (26:20):
Hello.
Speaker 11 (26:21):
I'm with Paxton.
Speaker 24 (26:23):
I just don't think the timing is right for Hunt.
I'd like to see him go in about six or
even twelve years, or if ted Cruz becomes part of
the jd Vance administration, that might be his opportunity.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
James, who are you with? And why?
Speaker 31 (26:42):
Thank you?
Speaker 32 (26:42):
Michael.
Speaker 22 (26:42):
I'm with Kim Paxton.
Speaker 24 (26:44):
I'd really like to hear Wesley explain.
Speaker 31 (26:47):
Why you voted for Obama twice.
Speaker 15 (26:48):
I don't know how you could be a conservative and
go for Obama.
Speaker 9 (26:51):
So I'm coop.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Sorry Renee. Who are you with and why.
Speaker 20 (26:56):
I'm with Kim Paxton? My reason is twofold. I want
to to have more of a record in my district.
And I had Hunter of thirty years and read people
very well, and he reads just a little too slick
for my liking.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Right thousand, we go to less. Who are you with?
And Why I'm.
Speaker 8 (27:20):
With Ken Paxton? I have a nonprofit g cot Outry Services,
and all we do is deal with the fentanyl ecademic
I mean, that's it. And so Ken Paxton has done
everything that he could for the state of Texas by
suing the big pharma and the pharmacy chains that created
(27:42):
the initial opioid overdose problem. And so they have taken
the money at billion plus probably closer to and they
purchased Narcan. They did a statewide program with the billboards
have unlimited Narkan. That's a huge thing. So all the
(28:05):
money that they got they are spending on the fentanyl epidemic.
And so I don't know that the other states that
went to that do that. I mean, they don't always
spend it where it's supposed to go. But he is
a fighter. I'm on his list of all the press
of releases that he does, and he is constantly suing.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Do you how do you administer the narkan? Is it
a nasal deal or is.
Speaker 8 (28:36):
It with nasal?
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Okay?
Speaker 8 (28:39):
They what they did. It used to cost. I mean
it was horrible one hundred and fifty dollars a box.
And now you can buy it over the counter because
of our state, you know, because of the governor, because
of Ken Paxton. You can go in and buy it
without a prescription. It's forty dollars. But we get all
(29:00):
that we need and our numbers are coming down and
sentinel fatalities. You interviewed me about three years ago when
we were just getting started.
Speaker 15 (29:12):
But I just can't.
Speaker 8 (29:13):
I mean, they have gone above and beyond and they're
involved with It's not something they just threw it off
to the side. They are heavily involved and concerned about,
you know, the the opioid overdose of the fentanyl fentanyl, yeah, epidemic.
So it is it's a nasal spray. Anybody can administer it.
(29:35):
You can't get hurt.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Yeah, we started putting defibrillators and things in places. I
don't you know, I don't know why we don't equip
every officer and every every e MT. I know that
most folks are doing that now with this narcan because
it really does save a life, and it is it
(29:58):
is full proof, as I understand, and it's the moment.
It's amazing what they're doing now with the nasal delivery
mechanism because it gets into your system so fast. A
lot of people carried around a big like a big
cigar holder, an EPI pen for epinephrine folks that were
allergic to be stings and the like, and spent a
(30:21):
number of years carrying those around with them, hauling, lugging
those damn things around should they ever be stung. And
now it's called a nephi and it's just a little
it's like a little afron and you can squirt it
right into your nose. I have to bring mine when
I go get my allergy shots. They have them there,
but they want you to bring it in case you
(30:41):
have reaction on the way home. And it's just so
much easier than those big you know, the syringe mechanism,
especially the mobile syringe mechanisms just not very efficient. All right, Mike,
who are you with and why? All right, Todd, who
are you with and why?
Speaker 10 (31:01):
Well? I'm leaning towards Ken Paxton. But there's one thing
that I want everybody to think about. When you're voting
for the next senator, You've got to remember that they're
going to be senator with Donald Trump for only two years.
After that, who's going to best represent our party, our
(31:21):
state after Trump is gone? Whoever's going to be president
the next four years and hopefully even longer than that,
Who's going to represent Texas better? Right now, I'm kind
of leaning towards Ken Paxton because he's been Trump even
when Trump wasn't president.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
Yeh, don who you with and why?
Speaker 32 (31:42):
Wesley Hunt a coastum in high school. If you don't
know him, you can't say anything bad about him. You
can't get what you need to know from it. Just
a short interview.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
The right, all right.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
Denesh Desuza has a new project that has just come
out or is coming out any moment.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
It will be our guest coming up. I wonder if
they could take that click out I might grow accustomed
to it.
