Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Michael Barry Show. Today's bonus podcast gets posted a
little earlier than usual because we already had it in
our little hands. We just finished our morning show, and
it comes from a nice woman named Monica. I can't
remember if I gave her last name before or not.
It doesn't matter, and it's probably easier if I don't.

(00:20):
I've come to that conclusion. Sweet woman who called in
a while back, and she was offering what I consider
the mommy perspective, mommy issues, mommy perspective, mommy experiences. Don't
take that the wrong way. That's meant to be the
ultimate compliment, because you see the love my kids have
for my mother, for my wife, and the love I

(00:43):
have for my mother and the way they have influenced
my life. I think that mommy issues and parent issues,
our elderly parents, and small business issues are at the
very heart of everything we do as a country. And
the further we get from that, the further we get

(01:05):
from government meeting the needs of the public that the
public actually needs them to meet. And this is why
you end up sending money off to Ukraine and your
veterans can't get help at the VA. So when she
called in, and had such interesting things to say. I
sent her an email after she sent an email after
us saying she enjoyed the conversation, and I said, hey,

(01:27):
talk to your husband and your kids. Why don't you
think about doing some more content. I think your perspective
is unique. I think the idea of a woman who
was in the workforce and then left to raise kids,
and who's trying to help her husband succeed and her
children succeed and her family be happy. I think this
is a perspective that people in the news media aren't sharing,

(01:49):
and politicians aren't sharing, but a lot of our listeners are.
And so I asked her to work through a little
intro and she did that, and we went back and
forth a few times, and I said, well, why don't
you just create some content and we'll put it up
as podcasts and let's see what it does. Let's see

(02:10):
if it resonates with people. Let's see if some people
say to me, I'm delighted to hear what she has
to say, I'd like to hear more. So she did. Now,
before you're too hard on her, I want you to
understand I talk for a living Trump talks for a living.
Rush talked for a living. It's very difficult for a
person to begin doing this, to share from your heart.

(02:33):
So I told her, if you feel better, write it
down and read from it until you get more comfortable
speaking extemporaneously. And so you will notice she's reading, but
it's things that she wrote. Anyway, give her a listen,
because we want to encourage more voices, not fewer, and
from a more diverse background. I think it's pretty darn good.

(02:56):
And more importantly, it's authentic, it's real, it's legitimate, and
we need more of that. So here we go.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
As we finish the Olympics this week, we can truly
say that these were a historic olympiad, using a word
that the left flecks to use. We witness firsthand the
dangers and the sad outcome of having genetic males participating
in female sports, which is why while I was on

(03:27):
social media today, it really shocked me and saddened me
to see female athletes who have decided to donate their
hard earnings to the Kamala Harris campaign. Now, this is
their right, this is their freedom to do so, but
doing so is just such evidence that their support is

(03:49):
not based on policy, but it's truly based on identity politics,
which is what is going to be the downfall of
our amazing country. I just find it so hard to
believe that female athletes could vote for women that helped
change a policy Title X that has been around for

(04:12):
more than fifty years, that was a pivotal moment for
feminism to protect women against sexual discrimination and federally funded
education and their programs, that they could vote for someone
who is willing to strip away all of women chances

(04:35):
for collegiate scholarships and a possible spot a future Olympic
team and a chance for metal. It's clear that no
woman's sport is safe anymore. We've only seen it happen
in a handful of sports thus far, but none of
them are immune. And a vote for Harris administration is

(04:59):
a clear tell of the world and the female athletes
that we're okay with men and women's sports. And this
is not women supporting women, which is a common phrase
I see on public media today. This is women supporting
one woman at the cost of many. And I know,
I know I have said that before one I've called

(05:23):
I know that this is a common phrase for me,
but it is that important for me, and recently in
a Bible study, we were talking about Hebrew language, Hebrew literature,
and that when the Hebrews found it important, they didn't
have punctuations so that they would repeat a word twice,

(05:44):
They would repeat a phrase twice, so that way in
their reading they knew that if something was said twice
in a row, it was that important. And that is
how passionate I am about this topic, and not just me.
I talk with my friends. I talk with other mothers.
I talk with the fathers who have daughters who are
so concerned and have fear about this very issue. This

(06:11):
is why they're choosing to homeschool, this is why people
are going to private education. I myself have pulled my
kids from public school into private education, and we live
in an area with really good public education. But the
policies are what are making these changes. It's to protect

(06:32):
the innocence of children. And it's the importance of women's sports.
And despite all the negativity that we have seen in
the Olympiad, this Olympics, this year, there has been so
much good that has also come for women's sports. They

(06:52):
have been able to show these young girls how amazing
women athletes can be and that has been so important
for me. I have loved seeing all the mother athletes.
They have shed a light for young women to show
them that you can be a mom and you can
still go for your Olympic dream. You can still go

(07:17):
for any dream that you have. Motherhood does not curtail
that for you. I've loved that so many of the
female athletes that they've talked about have college degrees. They've
pursued higher education. This is great for young women. I
love that there were pregnant athletes out there, and I

(07:37):
love that American women athletes have created lounges for their
families and all the families of women from other countries
that they could bring their children. They could bring their families,
They could sit with them before they competed. They could
their children could witness what their mothers were doing.
