This is my Tulsa with Carla Cantrell. Hi, Carlos is Jr. Jr.
Hey Jr. Carol, It isso nice to talk to you.
We can't wait till New Year's Eveat Kayne's Ballroom. I am incredibly excited
myself. Is that a pleasure tobe here? Well, I'm excited.

(00:20):
I know that you grew up wentto high school in Ulaga, right,
yes, ma'am graduated there in twentyseventeen. That is awesome. Wow,
you're just a baby. I loveit that you've come so far. Everybody's
talking about Jr. And how doesit feel like actually headlining a show at
Cane's Ballroom. It has honestly beena lifelong dream of mine. I went
to my first show there in twentyfifteen and was blown away and couldn't even

(00:46):
contextualize an idea that I would thatI'd ever be on that stage, let
alone headlining. Yet that unbelievable. You just remember when you're up there to
take a little pause, all right, take a ten second pause and just
soak it all. Yes, ma'am, I'm sure gonna try. Well,
I know that you've said that intwenty twenty four you're not going to do
a lot of dates. You're goingto concentrate on, you know, the

(01:08):
family and being at home a littlebit. So what are you looking forward
to in the next year. Iplay in another band and I'll be touring
pretty exclusively with them in twenty twentyfour, so I'm not going to have
a lot of solo dates on thebooks. I will be playing a lot
of shows, but not with mysolo gigs. I'm very excited for that

(01:30):
though. It's going to be agreat year. Well that's awesome. And
since you are coming back this timeof year, are you in Tulsa right
now? Yes, ma'am. Iam right outside of downtown at my office.
Oh that is awesome. All right, Well, tell everybody what's your
favorite holiday tradition right here in Tulsa. I got to be going to the
Raymond Lights. My wife and Iare going this week, and I'm incredible
Slidy. You know, I wasvery proud of myself. I went when

(01:52):
it was still seventy degrees. Ohgenius, I'm sure I'm gonna regret not
getting out there earlier, but it'sworth it to go. Beautiful, beautiful.
I absolutely love Rama and people thatYeah, people that move away.
I moved away for a couple ofyears. I did not realize how much
I would miss Rama lights. Itreally is a big part of Christmas time,

(02:13):
especially if you're from here. Youdon't realize how important that the traditions
become to you until they're gone.I love that, and you make sure
you soak up all the lights onGuthrie Green and everything too. I know
Tulsa and Broken Arrow and Ulu Gatlike all the little towns have done a
spectacular job of bringing on the Christmasfor sure. The Christmas spirit is ever
present in the country. I lovethat. Hey, I wanted to tell

(02:35):
you too. Your song Preacher Man, I mean that just hits me in
the soul right there. My dadwas not a preacher, but he was
a highway patrolman, so in thesame vein. Yeah, yeah, trying
to make that proud of that songreally connects to a lot of people,
and it's an honor that anyone listensto it at all. But it means
a lot because that one's very specialto me as well, So I appreciate

(02:58):
you saying that, Yeah, noproblem. What's your favorite songs of mine
or just of yours to sing?To sing where the Red Ferends crowd seems
to really enjoy that when it's probablymy most popular song and here and then
sing that chorus back is really specialty. That is awesome. We will try
to sing it loudly when we're atCane's Ballroom on New Year's Eve. Al
Right, I cannot wait. Andhey JR. What is your New Year's

(03:22):
resolution? Since you're going to bedoing the New Year's show? Oh gosh,
I guess try to be more presentin the time that I am home
with family. Really be here whenI'm here and enjoy those moments, enjoy
those memories. Can't get that timeback, So try to be more present
this year. All right? Ilove it. Hey, we look forward.
