Speaker 1 (00:00):
As you con wins at ninety two to fifty six.
Just talking about the block shots, coach, and you know,
obviously defense and rebounding is championship stuff. It was good
to see that you got block shots from a few
people tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Yeah, we did. It was good. You know, like you said,
we were really intent on coming into the game and
being disruptive defensively. You know, that was something that you know,
Sacred Heart does a pretty good job of running their offense,
and they scored the ball well against Temple, so we
really wanted to take them out of a lot of
what they do. And I thought we did that. You know,
we forced a good number of turnovers. We had ten steals,
and then the thirteen blocks. I mean alex Is seven

(00:34):
blocks and five yeah, five of them in the first half.
It was great to see from those guys.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
And the transition. I mean, your offense was okay first
half in terms of half court stuff, but you the
transition offense was pretty impressive. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
I thought, especially in the second half, we were able
to break it open a little bit more. I thought
we could have run harder. You know, a lot of
times I thought we were kind of stopping it. Maybe
the foul line extended instead of really sprinting and filling
the corners. A couple of guys too, I think running
to the three point line instead of just running to score,
attacking the rim and taking a sharper angle to the rim.
I know Jaln Stewart a couple of times that happened
to him solo a couple of times. So we'll get

(01:06):
better at it. But all in all, I mean, I
think Cigaret Heart's a pretty good team. You know, they
played Temple well, they played pretty well in their two scrimmages.
They played a really close game against Hofstra, who's a
good mid major. So all in all, I think we're
pretty happy with it.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
And Liam McNeely looks like he belongs on this level.
I mean, he seems comfortable, you know what I mean.
Freshmen you just don't know what they're going to do
when you step on the court for the first time.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Yeah, especially a guy who's been out for such a
long time. You know, he's missed a ton of practice.
He really only had Monday and Tuesday coming into this week.
Are coming into this game in terms of preparing himself
for it. But yeah, he's a stud. I mean, he's
a big time player, so I'm not overly surprised.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Terris Reid kind of similar to that Uri game in Mohican.
First half, not much going on. Second half, he started
to feel you know, his oats a little bit. He
started to really throw his body around and get to
the rim and do some damage.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah, that was great to see. I mean, you know,
he's got a ton of physical talent and strength. He
has a tendency, at least at Michigan to kind of
float a little bit and not necessarily assert himself around
the rim. So that's been something that we've been spending
a lot of time working with him on and it
was great to see him get on the glass, you know,
six offensive rebounds, fifteen points, eleven rebounds, stepped up and
made a number of his free throws. So really good

(02:13):
performance from him and something to build on.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Yeah. No floating around, by the way, no floating now
with this team. All right, coach, appreciate it, thank you.
