Speaker 1 (00:00):
Fact, Chris Stalley has joined us here as the Hardtart Group.
Post game show continues after Yukon's victory over Boston University. Boy,
that first half that was very impressive to watch. Got
the running game going, defense was good, good solid twenty
there to get it going.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
No, it was a great start just everybody.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
I thought we played really well defensively and then offensively,
as you said, the transition game, and we were able
to run some of our half court stuff as well.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
The defense.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Talking about they went to a full court press. It
didn't seem no matter who what the traps were happening. Well,
even the back line, and Sarah's strong, you know, six
steals and seems to be like whether she's playing behind
in the post or being out in the wing, it
seems very comfortable in those positions.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Well, Sarah's got really good feet in good hands, and
so her footwork is good and she's got quick hands.
So I think that's one way she comes up with
a lot of steals in those situations. But we have
not really worked on that pressure very long. In fact,
I think we did it one day really, Yeah, So
you know, it's something we're experimenting with and Hopefully we'll
be able to get better at it and mix it

(01:05):
up a little bit, but it certainly was effective today.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
I like Sarah's reach too, that that long stretch on
the laps where she's going left to right and just
extends that arm she's got. Is she longer than some
people think she is sneaky?

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Longer? I don't know how someone is sneaky.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Well, I wouldn't say she's sneaky, but that's I'll have
to give that one some thought. But she, you know,
similar to Page, like we talked before the game, she
has a knack and a way she gets the wall
up on the rim right, you know, so she and
that spin that's control, ball control and the position that
she's able to get to at the basket.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Okay, the fact that you were able to get everyone
in the game in quality minutes, in the sense of
through the course of the game wasn't just okay, we
have to get a lead in there. They seem to
whether you know KK in there is the guard or
it's it's Chen or you know whoever where is the
one that wants to take hand of the ball. Tonight
it all clicked. It didn't seem that you really skipped
a beat with whatever lineup you had in.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Now the minutes, I thought, we're really pretty even and
a good way to start. I mean, we haven't had
even ten players in practice that could go a lot
of days. Morgan and KK were just you know, come
adding back in last week. So it's been nice to
have that option and to be able to put different combinations.

(02:27):
Some of them were probably the cause of our lack
of continuity on the offensive end.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
So when you're up by a lot, you're up by.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Fifty, you know, we could have won by one hundred
if we kept scoring in transition, there's no point to that.
So we really needed to do a better job than
the half court in the second half. We didn't have
to walk the ball up, but you can push the
ball up and then execute your half court and it
took us a while. There was a five minute stretch
where I don't think we scored, which is not a
really good sign.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
This is something to work on. But you know, some
positive things.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Janet with a double due you know, I thought, you
know it's hour of course again, uh was seventeen, so
and we didn't have anyone with four thousd which was
a positive compare, we just spread it out a little
bit more.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
We had three, three and three, so.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
A little more egregious in that department.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Yeah, yeah, you know, it's funny Jena runs over three
people and she doesn't think it's about so in her way.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Coach, you know, and then you know what she said
she but it was good hustle.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Like you two are quite the quite the crew there,
aren't you.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
She's she's she's become a little too American for my life.
She has some you know, some comment to say constantly.
But you know, she's getting better. She you know, it's
been a long time when you think about that, she
hasn't played in a long time, and just getting back
into it. You're talking years, you know, a year and
a half, so it's gonna take her some time. But

(03:50):
she's getting better.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Chris a number that we didn't ever really saw last year,
thirty eight bench points. Isn't that nice to see?

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Well, and it helps having Joanna off the bench and
some of the kids you have coming off the bench.
I think, you know, having the luxury of having more bodies,
you're able to put people out that are fresher and
that can run the floor and and you also have
the advantage that if they're not playing the way they're
supposed to pay, you can also take them out right
where we didn't have that as much last year. So

(04:18):
it's all positive right now, give me a few days,
give me till Sunday.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Yeah, you have the scouts Sunday, right, do not know?
I got North Carolina and North Carolina?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
I have North Carolina?

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Yeah, so what give us? You know, getting back on
the sideline, having South Florida again, you know, kind of
going back to the and not old days. But you
know of recent AC AAC well, you.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Know what Tanya is scattering them because she, you know,
being in the AAC that was someone that they you know,
obviously we played them, but she played them even more recently.
So they just run a lot, a lot of offense.
Jose is a really good coach, and they're coming off
not one of their best years last year. But they've
got some players playing who didn't play last year, either
in transfer or were injured. And I think one of

(05:01):
their players tonight was seven to seven from the three
point line. So something we really have to do a
better job and as we move forward is defending the
three point line. I mean not the line, but the
people behind the line. Anyway, we can guard the line.
We just can't guard the people behind the line.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
But you can guard. You can guard the stripe.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
And that's sometimes that line calls. Sometimes it does trip
you up. Yeah, but so.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
We'll have our hands full. They shoot a lot of threes,
they run a lot of good offense.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
So we'll be running around a good a good test.
It will be. It will be a lot of fun
to be back at Campbell, it will indeed.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
All right, we'll see a Sunday, all right, thank you,
all right, Chris daley is always pleasure to have her
with its courts set after Yukon's victory,
