Speaker 1 (00:00):
Down three at the half and you guys come out
with the win here on the road at Boston College.
What did you see out of your group in the
final thirty minutes.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Just toughness, mental toughness, resilience, the will to win, conviction
and what we're doing discipline. I mean, you know, all
those coach things that are really true, and I don't
think there was ever any doubt, you know, that we
were going to keep competing. It was just could we
get over the hump and get a win and we
did so. It felt really good and really proud of
the players for the way they responded to you know,

(00:26):
kind of a bad end to the first half. You know,
we couldn't convert on offense, we gave up a touch
on defense, they could have captured mole menum, but we
were able to get it back with that first drive
on offense. In the second half.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Joe Finnano had and as we talked about one seventy
five in the first half, he through for almost two
hundred in the second half. I mean, was that as
complete as sixty minutes have we've seen from the past game.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
I would have to say so. I mean, just from
a protection standpoint, guys catching the ball, making hard catches,
getting guys wide open, and Joe connect and he looked
very confident, and our receivers look confident. Our line, our
offensive line is doing really that's a good defense front
and we did a nice job. So, you know, we
kind of made the decision there kind of early in

(01:06):
the game that hey, we're going to throw it to
win today, you know, And I've talked about balance before.
Balance to me is if you have to throw it
to win, you throw it to win. If to run
it to win, you run it to win. And we
were able to do that today.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Juice Faren a couple of touchdown catches. I mean, what
is his growth look like this year?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
It's been coming, you know, and it hasn't necessarily shown
up like it did today. And I just was so
happy for him. You know, we had some of those
things that were designed for him and we were able
to hit him. And he's a really good football player
and he's made some good plays for us, but there's
what's been some that have been just so close, you know,
and I think this could be hopefully a breakthrough for him.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Seven zacs to day for the defense, just it feels
like yes, it feels like more of the same with
that kind of pressure. So if you're saying you didn't
know that, did the pressure feel on par with what
you would hope for.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Well, seven sacks. I had no idea that it was that,
you know. I know Brian Parham had a few again
and I think some others, but that's that's an impressive number.
So you know, we got to keep doing that. Part
of that's good coverage, you know, and making him hold
the football, and part of it's good design of the pressures.
And then absolutely you know, executed well and you know,
rushing with your hair on fire, you know, just trying

(02:11):
to go get that guy and not being denied. And
so I'm proud of our guys for playing that.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Way and for Brian Parham. Last one here, fourteen tackles
a couple of acts disrupting all sorts of things out there.
I mean, talk about picking up a guy from the
West Coast and having an immediate impact.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Long Beach Baby, he's from the LBC. He went to
Long Beach Poli. It's a you know, it's a great
football factory school. He's a great kid. I'm so happy
he's here. He just brings joy, he brings energy, he
brings great play. He's really turned into a fine leader.
And you know, we knew he was a well coached
kid coming from his background, and just to have him
step in and do the things he's doing, it's just

(02:47):
so proud of him, you know. I mean, he made
a tough decision last year to red shirt and sit
out of football, and he came back with a vengeance
this year.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Coach, thanks so much, all right, my pleasure, all right,
