Speaker 1 (00:00):
Just about a walk off victory here today with Chris
Freeman knocking that one through coming out with the win.
I mean, what do you make of the team's effort
to just find a way to get this one.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
It was a gut check win. It was a huge
win for us on the road. It was ugly by
our standards, you know. I mean, it just wasn't pretty.
It was it demanded everything we had and we got
it done. And I think that that's a credit to
these guys and it's something we can teach off of
and build from.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Defensively, there were a lot of moving parts. Guys were
banged up. Even thinking of Brian Parham wasn't able to
be one hundred percent today. So what did you see
from the depth of this team with guys just being
able to get in there and make plays.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
I was just proud of these guys because no matter
who had to go in, they stepped up and they
got it done. And that was offense. I was defense
touring White win in there at the end in a
two minute drive when it was critical. Everything got it done,
you know. And that's listen, people are going to be
disappointed that we didn't win by more or that it
was ugly and we didn't you know, run for enough
yards or pass enough yards. Remember, the main objective is
(01:01):
to win, and sometimes wins that are ugly can lead
to great things in the future. And so that's listen,
we're not gonna we're not just gonna go we want
and you know, laugh it off, but we're gonna dig
deep and find out how we can get better. But
we do that after every game.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Joe Finiano, you know, you said, didn't pass for a
million yards, but found ways to pick up yards with
his legs. And that's now a couple of weeks in
a row. What have you found from Joe being able
to create some yardage that way.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
He's tough, he has great vision, he knows when to
pull the ball and run, he knows when to get down,
so he doesn't take a lot of hits. I think
it's just a sign of maturity. I think it's him
understanding our defense very very our offense very very well.
And where the you know, opportunities for him are gonna
be to to get get runs, you know, get get
(01:46):
yards with his legs.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
And moments like this we get to talk about the kickers.
So Chris Freeman. What a luxury it is to have
this guy coming back for one more year.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Well, I don't think there's ever a doubt, you know,
and anyone on our sideline at least that he was
gonna get that done. And you know, we just needed
to get in and his range and we figured he'd
punch it through and he did. And you know, we
work on that too. Minute we took over with I
think forty nine seconds or fifty nine seconds, what was it,
And you know, we we work on that, as you know, constantly,
And I don't think anyone had a doubt. It was
kind of like the Syracuse game, or we didn't have
(02:15):
a doubt that we'd go down there and we'd be
able to kick a field goal to force that win
in overtime and get the win here. So, uh, it's
a good feeling. I mean, it's it's it was a
gut check and I'm proud of our players.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Got on the win.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Thanks coach, Thank you,
