Connecticut Chevy Dealers Chevy Drives America, is it Ctchevy dot
Com for a dealer near you, and the u con
Locker Room with coach More. Here's Adam Jerdy.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Thank you, Bob, Coach. The scoreboard is what it is.
I'm sure you'll grate it differently than what the scoreboard said.
So what's the initial thoughts from you coming out of
this one?

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Well, I didn't like the way we started the game.
I mean everyone saw, you know, the penalties, the snap,
the miscues that held us back. But I like the
way they responded after that first five or six minutes,
you know, and got back on track and nobody lost
their cool. Everyone stayed composed, folcused on doing their job.
I think our defense was a little better in the

(00:46):
second half. We have a lot of work to do, obviously,
it felt like in the first half they were just
a little bit on their heels and maybe a little
bit uncertain. You know, we've mentioned a lot of guys
playing together for the first time, but that cannot be
an excuse that we use. So we'll get better there.
I think we have some playmakers on offense, but you know,
there's just a lot of things we have to clean up,
and we will. These guys will make a commitment to

(01:08):
working hard. And we've got a huge game this week.
You know, we've got to go back to Syracuse for
the second year in a row and play at their place.
And it's a really good football team coached by coach Brown,
and we have a lot of respect for him. So
you know, we's gotta we got We've got to get
ourselves ready for that one.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
You had talked about wanting explosive plays, and I think
anybody that watched this game would have seen a bunch
of explosive plays. So where do you think that came from?
From a guy like Cam Edwards, Mel Brown, Skyler Bell
being able to come out in their second years here
and just make it all happen.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Well, they did it last year. You know, we saw
big plays from those guys. I want to see the
big plays from the guys we added, you know, the
ty Bowmans and the Ray Mellows and Chris Parker and
Juice Marien, and we saw hints of that today. I think,
you know, there were some things that that looked like
they could have been explosive plays, and we've just been

(01:58):
a little bit more precise in the way we executed.
So I'm encouraged by that. You know, I think we've
got guys that can make plays, and I think Joe
can get him the ball and we can make big
plays in the run game if there's a hole, you know,
and we didn't start out running all great, but our
mo is to stick with it and you know, keep
pounding at it and it works out for us.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
And obviously the big playmaker coming back Skyler Bell specifically
that first half, I mean only got to see the
first thirty minutes of him, but what did he show
you specifically that is going to make him even better
this year.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
I think the play that stands out to me the
most is the over the shoulder catch on third down
down the sideline. You know, he had the two touchdowns,
the one he was wide open, the one he had
out run people, which you know, you saw his speeds
and loosiveness, but just his ability to track that ball
and catch it over his shoulder. To me, was beautiful
that led to score. So if you look at Sky,
you can tell that he's really worked hard this offseason

(02:49):
and he's built differently. His arms are big, he looks solid.
He's playing with a lot of confidence. Joe has tremendous
confidence in him. Their chemistry is really good, and so
it's always nice to have a guy like Skar on
your team.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Coach, thanks so much, good luck next week.
