Speaker 1 (00:00):
At Jardino with you here at Barrett Smoke House, Barbecue
and downtown Hartford to wrap things up on the Yukon
Hockey Coaches Show with head coach Mike Kavanaugh. Big thanks
to you than Gardula and kaijan Veria for hopping on
with us earlier today. Just a couple of really well
spoken young men we got there.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
They are they you know, that's a great class we
have there too, and both of them are instrumental and
making that, you know, a very productive group, you know,
between Ethan and Mike Mertz and Kai and Trey Scott kayden.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Z.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
It's a good group.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
We got some social media questions, we solicited some and
here we go.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
H nothing from Dan Toscano, right.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
No, nothing from Dan. One from Dan Frank though. Okay,
what is the thing that.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
You liked?

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Which player is your first half, most surprising, most impressive
player for you in terms of a guy that you know,
really put it all together so far.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Yeah, that's a tough question to answer, but you know,
I think it's probably you know, Mike Murtaga. I thought
he was a good player. I knew he was going
to be a good piece of the puzzle for us.
This year. If you told me that he was going
to be one of our leading scorers to this date,
that would have surprised me. So that's why I would.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Say him at this point. Andrew Larkin on social media said,
you know, last year you talked about the NCAA tournament
and how that was a goal or are you still
putting those type of goals in front of the guys
here in early December.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Yeah, I think we're focusing more on right now a
regular season championship. You know, I think we start focusing
on the NCAA tournament in the second half of the year.
We certainly haven't played our way out of it. The
first half of the year. You don't win any trophies,
but you can certainly play your way out of some
of them. And I think we've played well enough that
we're in contention for all of those trophies. But right now,

(02:13):
with our opponent coming up, Merrimack College, they're a league opponent,
and those are you know, that's six big points we
have in front of us this weekend, so that's what
we're focused on.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
One more it was Nathan s game on the line
penalty shot, Joe Dan Brosio or Bob Joyce, which of
the two broadcasters are you sending out there to take
the penalty shot? To neither? I think the look on
your face is neither.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Can I send Dan Conley?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
There you go? Randy actually plays?

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Why? I think I'm gonna send Randy?

Speaker 1 (02:48):
All right, that's perfect. We were talking with Ethan Garduella
and he had mentioned about Sioux City and just how
that's a place that he spent some formative years and
that there are five guys on this aster from there.
Is there something to that? Because I know sometimes coaches
build relationship with other coaches. Is there anything for us?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
I certainly have a great relationship with coach Kurzner out there,
But I think some of it's coincidental because Cayden was
there before Ethan got there, and Taber was there before
any of them got there.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Anthony Kevin Fitzgerald.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah, so it's just kind of I think coincidental that
they all wound up there in some ways. Now, we have,
like I said, a great relationship with him, and if
he asked us about a player that we have committed,
I'll say, sure, yeah, we'd love to have him go
with you. So with all this, we don't. We don't
they have to draft the players. It's not like we
can say this is where we want you to go play.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
So, having said all that, is there a favorite restaurant
when you see sus City? Is there's like do you
have on all these different spots and juniors, do you
have restaurants.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Certain places that you like to go to. I can't
say there's one particular one. It's city. A couple you
know's wanted debut Omaha, bove it, you know, Lincoln.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Some sponsor like the coach, thanks so much. He'll get
a full all right six points this weekend against Merrimack,
and then enjoy your almost month well away from games,
but plenty of work to be done.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
That's right. Yeah, well when did we back on again? January?

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Yeah, some time in January.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Okay, we'll give you some time away from enjoy the holidays,
Happy new Year, and we'll see.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
You in twenty absolutely, and we'll see you at the
rink on Saturday, four o'clock puck drop three forty five
pre game show for Wyatt. Poor Chris. I'm adam so
long from Bear Smoke Cole's Barbecue.
