Speaker 1 (00:00):
Final second with Coach Riama.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Thanks to both the Carlin Dezayne and Brendan Dumfy for
joining us on the show.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Coach Arima, you call me coach Arima.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Now coach ari Ema. Yeah, you could do worse than
being called coach.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
I'll take it.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Yeah, I'll take it.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
When there's eleven hundred games over five hundred got that.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
That's insane, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I know, I know, twelve hundred and sixty five wins
and one hundred and sixty five losses. Yeah, you'd sign
up for that all day.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
I mean, hockey's a lot.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
I'd signed up for the two hundred and sixty five
of his twelve hundred sixty five. I take those.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Speaking of coach, we have a show tomorrow night with Gino.
He is always anytime we get done with our pregame interviews,
he is always asking me about your hockey team. All right,
he goes like Wednesday goes, he goes, hey, aren't they playing?
Or Saturday was aren't they playing? Go yeah, I thinky're
playing at two and he go yeah, okay, good stuff
like that. And we mentioned about Joey going to the

(00:53):
Spangler Cup and all that and then the cage and
the Olympic team. Yeah. I look at the standings here.
I haven't looked at him in a while. Eleven to
five and three, which is better than at this point
last season. And you're still a top Hockey East out. Yes,
there are still January and February to go, but it's
nice to see you Kunn a top of table.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
I mean, you know, usually you're battling like anywhere from
seventh to fourth or third, battling for a spot. But
you guys played well this first half of the season.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
I mean, we have a long way to go. As
I said, the games get a lot more intense here
in the second half. But I always say in the
first half, you can't win any trophies, but you can
play yourself out of them, and we were able to
put ourselves in a position to compete for those trophies.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
It might be hard to gauge this now, I mean,
this was probably a better question to ask for really
mid March. Does this team have the potential to be
better than the team last year?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
I hope?

Speaker 2 (01:52):
So.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Yeah, I think every team you know, you hope has
the potential to be better than the team you've coached
in previous years. The fact that we have a lot
of seniors I think helps us. We have a lot
of experience there, and you're not seeing a lot of
that in college hockey anymore because of whether it be
the transfer portal or kids leaving a lot earlier to

(02:14):
turn pro than they used to. So for us to
be able to have seven seniors leading the way, that's
certainly bodes well for us.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Now, you don't go back to school to what Martin
Luther King day or I believe.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
First, so they've got a couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Still, what are they spending a lot more time at
the rink?

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yeah, we practice in the morning, We've got a couple
of things going in the afternoon. Sometimes we'll keep them busy.
But you know, I give them their time. They I
think enjoyed this time and they find things to do.
I know that they've I think last week they actually
went sledding one day, nice with the horse barn Hill.
But as long as they're not snowboarding or skiing, I'm

(02:59):
okay with it.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Yeah, to Boggins, I mean, let's are they Let's see,
I mean back when we were kids, we had the
flexible flyers going to Boggins.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
We would build. Don't give me any ideas. We would
build ramps and go.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Flying and oh yeah yeah, don't give those guys any ideas.
This this senior class, I mean, they're so special. They
have been through so much together, the ups and downs
of this. They got a real big taste of what
life in the postseason can.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Be like last year.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
And now to take that, I mean, it just seems
like they've just continued the momentum. That guy is like
Huddy and Spatsy set up with the brochure, I mean,
and part of that YouTube thing, they also had the
booklet out. Now, nothing was you know, nothing was you know,
told out of that booklet. But it just seems like
that's the basis of what this this program is about
and what's expected of you.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah, I mean they certainly, uh you know, the expectations
of the program were significantly increased after Hudson and John Spence,
Let's say that for sure. But that's a good thing,
and that's where I've wanted the program to go. And
now our seniors and Taber Heath Slip and Ryan Taddle

(04:11):
and they've just built from that playbook and they've kind
of added their own stuff and they're making holding our
players account.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
And the first semester went well in the classroom.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Might trust well, they're all still here, so thanks to
Alana Butler.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yes, you guys get a lot of financial guys majors, yeah,
County and stuff like that do Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Yeah, they're smart who playing for their future.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Yeah, well I hope so as.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
You say, you know, I'm not bringing you here for
ten thousand. I want you to make ten millionllion.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Yeah, that's a great line. Cav is always a pleasure.
We will talk before the game on Friday and let's
get going in the second half.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Here we go. It sounds good, Bob, Thanks, it's winning time.
Jerry York you se I have to say it that
or Fris.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
All right, we'll be with you Friday night at six
forty five and the radio for Yukon Hockey Tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Night I'm with you know at the Holloway for Manchester.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Count the photo or Quiet's back in the studio about Julius,
thanks for listening to you. Kind out the book to
