Speaker 1 (00:00):
Four more threes today of the thirteen that Yukon made today.
First of all, tell me about your first start the
other day. What was your reaction when coach called your
number in the starting five on Wednesday?
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Yeah, it was super exciting. I feel like I don't
play a ton of point guard in games, so just
having that opportunity was really fun. That's what I'm used
to in high school, so just playing a different position
was really cool and really unique.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Opportunity defensively has been the stamp where this team, it
seems this season, and a little sloppy early on in
the first quarter, but then as you came in and
you were able to contribute offensively defensively to in that trap.
What was your mindset coming in or when you're going
from the bench, sorry to the court.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
I would say just bringing a little bit of energy
and just knowing like what positions are supposed to be in.
We work on it all the time in practice, and
just knowing like our rotations and everything like that really
feeds into our offense. Anytime we can get a trap
or an opportunity to get a steal, it really fires
everything up.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Allie Seaton Hall tied the game at eleven. Team had
a lot of open looks they just weren't going, and
then you got the run going that end of the
first with the first of threes. You must like the
corners because man, you don't miss very often when you're
launching threes from either corner.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Is at your comfort zone where you're.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Actually not I would say my corners are definitely not
usually my best spot, but you know, once in a
while you work on them, they start going in.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Well, tell us too again playing New Year's Eve, and
it's like, again, you handled the team, you handled it well.
You know, it's forty point game, but some rustiness or
it looked like a lot of turnovers much more cleaned
up again.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
First half maybe a little bit, but it's the third quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Fourth quarter team came out and cleaned that up because
that was that an emphasis there's how was that come
about to change those statistics?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah? Absolutely, we had way too many turnovers and we
know that later on down the road that thought would
really kill us. So cleaning out turnovers is going to
be huge.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Ali with the depth that this team has and the
points that you're able to get off turnovers, it's gotta
be fun to see that pile up because you guys
are so good at that this year with the depth
that you have, I mean, Blanc, it comes in changes things.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
Canine does the same thing you do too.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
It's gotta be fun with what you guys are able
to do defensively, especially when you extend the defense.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
I think it's just so much fun basketball to play
when you know, like everyone on the team has dialed
and locked into doing one complete goal. Everyone feeds off
of it. Like I said before, it leads into everything
that we do. So I feel like it's just so
much fun playing basketball here when you know that you
have a role and that's what you're gonna do.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Do you have a New Year's resolution at all? Whatsoever?
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Well, one of mine would be more active on social
media because I am not active at all.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
Don't worry about it. That's not important.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
But my team it's always give me some crap for it.
So a little bit of that, and then also just
probably read a book because I haven't done that in
a minute.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
So all right, By the way, the guys are home tomorrow,
you're gonna go the guy's play.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
I did not know that, but maybe we'll see go support.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
All right, very good. Thank you for a few minutes, Sally,
we appreciate it. Then we'll see it Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Thank you so much
