Speaker 1 (00:01):
Ask the eight point game for you, You're probably in
the first half, came to lab on the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
They try to get you the ball more after halftime.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
I think it's just the way the game was flowing.
I think that happened sometimes basketball, especially in an exhibition,
when we're trying to get as many rotations as possible
to see different combinations. But you just want to be
patient and let the game come to you. I mean,
everyone's bound to get the shots in this game, and
I think we really saw that today. Everyone had a
really good game today. Obviously, we're very successful with our win,
and we figured out what we need to work on
(00:29):
and we're ready to keep going.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
It's back after the first quarter.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Asy Fudd got you guys out to the great start,
scored eight of you puss first seventeen points.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Never a bad game plan to go to her, is it?
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Never? Never? Her and Sarah vote. I mean, if we
can get them the ball as much as we can,
we'll do that.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
They had over thirty turnovers in this game today. Analyze
the way your team played defense and why Southern had
so many turnovers.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
I think really what we've been emphasizing in practice and
everything we've been doing is being aggressive, getting in those
passing lanes, and especially at the start of the game
when you're able to really push the tempo. We really
tried to emphasize that getting as many steals as possible,
and then eventually, like even when we had to go
back to half four defense, we still try to emphasize
getting in the gaps, getting up in them, and then
(01:14):
just getting those steals and keep being aggressive.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Yeah, pushing the tempo. You did that today.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
You ran the fast break really well, and I'm guessing
that's going to be a priority all season long.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Absolutely, that's what our first goal is, is to look
for transition points as much as we can so we
don't have to get set up. Obviously, like we'll be
find either way setting up or getting transition, but that's
always the first goal when we're getting out, getting the
rebound and getting it out in transition.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Tell me about the role that Sarah's Prong plays on
this team. She wasn't dominant points squise today, but she
had a double double, she was blocking shot, she had
a team high and assist. She just makes everybody better,
doesn't she.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Absolutely? I mean, Sarah contributes so much to the game.
Regardless of how many points she's gonna put up, she's
always gonna get double figures in the rebounds. She's always
going to find the open person. I mean, that's just
the type of player she is. She does absolutely everything.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Okay, yesh, playtime is over, the exhibitions, the preseason games
are over for Game one next week against Louisville. What's
priority number one that you think Yukon has to improve
on between today and then?
Speaker 3 (02:13):
I think, just keep playing Yukon basketball. When we're focused
on what we can do, and when we're at our
best offensively and defensively, it doesn't matter what the other
team does, it matters what we do.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Thanks very much, congratulations, Thank you,
