The Blue Jays with clutch hits, the Huskies not enough of them as Creighton takes the Big East Championship

The Big East Tournament champs of the Creighton Blue Jays.
They were co champs in the regular season with the
Huskies at seventeen and four. You kind of lost two
of three to the regular season in Omaha, they were
the second seed because of that. Here and tonight, Creighton
has beaten Yukon by a finalist seven of four. Mike
chris Pino back with you at Mason, Ohio and Prasco Park.

The final numbers Creighton seven runs, eight hits, two airs
they left seven. You count four runs, seven hits, one air,
they left eleven. They lift the bases loaded three different
times in this game. One of the reasons why they
will go home with a loss. They dropped two of
four in this tournament. They end up the season at

the NCAA selection Committee and see if they're in the
NCAA Baseball Tournament. It would be a seventh straight year
if they could get selected next week. Creighton, meanwhile, is
at forty one and fourteen and the champion for a

first in the third inning with a leadoff home run

left hander fires, it's hit high in the air to
left field. Bill are going back and he's not gonna
get that one. It is out of here. So Cragon,
after escaping in the top of the third inning, gets
the lead, won nothing on a home run by Dakota Duffalo,

just his third of the season and Duffalo's twenty first
run back at in a two seventy five hit or
a senior and Craigon had the lead. Won nothing. It
didn't last very long because Caleb Spur, who had struck
out his first two times at the plate, came up
in the fifth inning with one out.

Here's the pitch, a swing in a fly ball hammered

Home run number eight by Caleb Spur forty four runs
back a dad, and we were tied. At one apiece
a Yukon then fell behind. When Crayton was able to
score a couple of times in the bottom of the
fifth inning, they were up three to one, but in
the top of the sixth inning, Yukon had an answer.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Root to two pitch swing in a fly ball hit
well right center field. This sends Gillan charging back. The
center fielder looks up and HiT's gone. Two hits for
the Huskies, two solo homers and a glad handing bow
hits third base and the Oski's got the deficit in
half three to two.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
And it would remain there at four to two as
the Huskies were playing in the bottom of the eighth inning,
when Creighton was able to rally. They had five doubles
in the game. After one was out, Will McClain doubled,
then a sacrifice fly scored a run. Dakota Duffalo had

his second run batted, end of the game a walk,
and then Yukunn was one out away from getting out
of it and trailing by five to two going into
the ninth inning. But that's when Tate Gillen came to
the plate, swung on base, hit down the right field line,
two runs will score and in the second with a double,

Gillan's double was his second hit of the ball game.
He ends up going two for four. He also haw
to sacrifice fly three runs batted in for the leadoff man,
the center fielder, Tate Gillen. You con had a little
bit of an answer in the top of the ninth

inning with Ryan Daniels coming to the plate. They had
a leadoff single from Caleb Spurs third hit of the game.
He ended up three for five. Ryan had been oh
for four, a couple of strikeouts and a couple of
ground balls when he just lit one up, pitched to
Daniels and that's hit high in here to right bail.

Wow, we had not.

Seen a home run like that, and we've been coming
here for the last few years. That was a bomb
by Daniels, and you Connor is within three again, seven
to four. It was Ryan daniels eighteenth of the year,
a two run shot. He's now got seventy five runs
batted in to lead the team, but it wasn't enough.

The final was seven to four as Yukon left eleven
men on in this one, and they fall to Creighton
for the third time this season. They dropped three of
the four games played between the two and the Huskies
now have to wait it out and see what happens
on Monday when they select the sixty four teams will
be playing in the NCAAA Baseball Tournament.
