Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's get to the highlights. Yukon three and out on
its opening drive. Blue Hens. Meanwhile, they set the tone early.
Nick Minikuci to Nick Williams thirty two yard pass play
on third and long, got Delaware going. Joe Silver whose
name you heard a lot today, a twenty one yard
run of the eleven, and then two plays later the
quarterback called his own number.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Akuci keeps runs into the end zone untouched on an
RPO and Delaware has scored six nothing. A seventy three
yard drive by the Blue Hens.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Very impressive way to start the game. But get used
to it. We had a lot of offense in that
first half. You kind of had an answer right away.
Cam Edwards was that guy? A big third and four run,
then a screen and run for twelve for Skyler Bell
to the Huskies forty nine. Yukon p Filk coming into
the game. They could run the ball and with two
big blocks it was Edwards off to the races from

(00:55):
the left.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Hash Vignano with a handoff Edwards.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Up the left sideline precs it stays in bounds and
with speed is going to go to the house. And
I don't think he stepped on the bounds. It's a touchdown.
Cam Edwards explosive sweep to the left, broke through near
the line of scrimmage, and then turned down the jets
and went all the way to get Yukon within one point.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Six play seventy five yards. We were tied at seven. However,
Silver with a fabulous shift change the scoreboard, lickety split
in the Blue Hen sphere.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Now inside hand off left side and breaking a tackle.
Silver up the right sideline and he is on the
run at the forty the thirty and he's going all
the way. Leave will left, try to get him at
about the twenty, and he couldn't do it, and Delaware
has scored, reversing the fields on the run and the

(01:56):
Blue Hens have taken the lead back.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Seven minutes in the defense gouged for one hundred and
twenty nine yards and they were down fourteen to seven.
Husky's turned to move the ball down the field twenty
four to juice for raina midfield thirty one more for
Skyler Bell in a crossing pattern, but they couldn't cash
into the end zone and aer Chris Freeman from twenty
eight yards.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Stuts the holder snap is low.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
He places it Freeman's kick is up and it's good.
So Yukon's drive pays off with three points and with
four forty eight to go here in the first quarter,
it's Delaware fourteen and Yukon ten.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yes, that was the score after one. Delaware though on
the move as we start the second quarter, twelve place
seventy nine yards with the help of a personal foul
first and goal from the four Minacucie again on the RPO.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Puts what it in motion and keeping and running right
up the middle for a touchdown is Manacucci?

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Wow? Was that easy?

Speaker 2 (02:58):
They almost went untouched with the ball handling in the backfield.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
And Yukon has given up.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Three touchdowns in the opening eighteen minutes of this ballgame.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
So at this point it was twenty one ten six
consecutive drives where Yukon gave up a touchdown that started
with the seventeen to twelve touchdown by Syracuse last Saturday.
That offense, meanwhile, needed a state even than they did.
Bell a ten yard catch, a big third down conversion
to John Nieder for sixteen in time for Victor Rosa

(03:32):
a ten yard run. Then they called the same exact
play for six and.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
They start Rosen to the right and chops along the
right sideline and he's open and ends up in the
end zone. Victor Rosa, he was like a magic man.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
There he was in a pile of tacklers.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
He took a job, step right and he went down
the sideline.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
And Yukon has answered seven plays, seventy three yards and
two thirty seven twenty one seventeen. Husky finally get a
big stop and then from the seventeen they go to work.
Two subs made big catches Joe Finnano twenty three to
Naight ter Churchy and twenty nine to John Nieder to
the Delaware two Cam Edwards to finish.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Fignano snap Edwards, cuts inside Edwards second effort into the
end zone for six and U Khan has the lead.
What a first half we are witnessing.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Yep, that was a twenty four to twenty one lead
for the Huskies, But just like the first time or
the last one of the early series, it was not
a lead for long for the Huskies.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Drop back two steps under pressure, throws up top and
broken up a cart along the left sideline and Delaware
is gonna score.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Oh my goodness, how did that happen.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Lee Malett went up with the receiver and it looked
like you had a piece of it, but the Delaware
man came down with it and he went all the
way for another touchdown.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Yep, that would be to Plessi who went for the touchdown.
Chunk plays the normal. The first half, teams combined for
six hundred and twenty eight yards of offense. Delaware led
twenty eight to twenty four at the half. Delaware did
not score in their first possession, but three major penalties
on Delaware helped the Huskies move the ball downfield and
get the lead back scalerbella big thirteen yard catch and run,

(05:27):
then a defensive holding penalty when Victor rose A fummel
the ball and Delaware brought it down the field out
to midfield, but the holding penalty meant first and goal
from the ten Huskies to the air to regain the lead.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Tamar Porter splits right on this formation off the left
hash the crowd not happy. Finnano rolls to his rights
and wants to throw, and he does and he end
zone touchdown. It's caught and that was Ramelo murphyw got
loose and the Huskies take advantage of multiple penalties Delaware

(06:00):
to get it at the end zone and take a
lead their second one of the game.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Forty of the seventy nine yards on penalties and you
cut up thirty one twenty eight, but the Blue Hens
came right back. Two third down conversions won fourth down
conversion for Delaware. Kyle de Plessi with two catches took
the ball down or Kyrie de Plessi took two catches
down to the ten yard line, and then Joe Silver
finished it off to end the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
In Acouchi snap inside hand off Silver, Silver into the
end zone, touchdown off the left side, and Delaware just
shredded Yukon's right side of their defense to take the
lead back thirty four thirty.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
One, eleven plays seventy five yards five oh five. After
three Delaware thirty five thirty one Huskies came up with
an answer ten plays, seventy five yards and five oh
six bell a twelve yard catch, Lewis Hansen caught one
for fifteen and Raymelo Murphy won for twenty seven to
set up first down at ten. Came down to fourth

(06:59):
thingle inside the one, Cam Edwards Will stopped three times,
but it was play action that got Yukon the lead.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Back Beano under center, turns us to throw and his
car touchdown at the end zone.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
What a catch by Honick oh Man.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
He was covered well, but he's able to make the
catch and give you Connelly.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yes, indeed, Alex Honian a second TD catch of the season.
Thirty eight thirty five, Huskies nine to fifty four left.

(07:46):
Hens now on the move. Big twenty two yard catch
by Duplessi to the Yukon thirty four drive stalled. Nate
Reid try to tie the game from forty seven yards.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Out left hash snap good spot good kick up.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
The kick is no good.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
It was wide right, no flags and Yukon escapes somehow
and has the lead at thirty eight thirty five.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Plenty of time left, though six point fifty Yukon needed
a big drive. They were aggressive short passing Cam Edwards
and it came down to a fourth and short from
the twenty two, but they only got one yard as
Joe Finniano maybe rushed the pass play to Lewis Hansen
and we hit the two minute time out right after
a Yukon sack, so Delaware was backed up to a

(08:36):
second and nineteen. It came down to a fourth and ten.
Cam Shadwick called for a defensive pass interference penalty to
keep the drive alive. Then a twenty six yard pass
play Manakuchi to Duplessi up the right sideline Ellison, then
a twelve yard catch to the Yukon thirty three. Clock
wound down two seconds left. Nate Reid was zero for

(08:58):
three in his first three games this season. Tried to
keep this one going for the Blue Hens.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
It's slow, the kick is up, and the kick is god.
It barely cleared the crossbar and it almost went wide
right again.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
It just missed the right upright, but it did clear
the crossbar by maybe what a foot.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
So for the first time since nineteen eighty nine is
when mentioned back to back overtime games for the Huskies,
Yukon lost the toss. They got it first big pass
play nineteen yards to Lewis Hansen took the ball to
the Delaware two, but the Huskies could not get it
in the end zone. Joe Finiano on third and two
from the two was sacked for the first time all day,
so Chris Freeman kicked the field goal and it was

(09:45):
Yukon up three, so Delaware knew the math. They needed
a touchdown to win silver. With a run on first
down for nine yards Minicouci, a three yard run for
a first down. Minikouci again, a keeper on first and
ten at the thirteen for no gain, but then the
quarterback put this one on.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Ice Mannacouchi again in the empty backfield, trips to the right,
man in motion right to left, and he keeps up
the middle again and he runs to the end zone
and stores and Delaware wins.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Yes they do for the second straight week. You kind
of tough, tough loss, forty four to forty one here
at Delaware Stadium, where, quite frankly, the Huskies have had
very little success in this building.
