Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jaden Ross, who made his debut tonight in a Husky uniform.
Let's give you some room here. Let's turn up the
mic so everybody can hear you, and you can hear yourself.
You hear yourself. Okay, Yeah, I'm good, Jayden, I'm Bob.
He's been nice to meet you, so welcome back to
the party. How to feel tonight, to get back on
the floor, It felt.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Great, It was exciting, excited atmosphere to plan and you know,
we put in a preparation all week to get to
this point, so it felt good. Obviously not satisfied with
the win, fully, but we'll continue to grow and get
better every day.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
So one of our favorite plays from you is the
reverse layup down on the baseline. Take us through that
moment and just like about the finish and why you
went the other side.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Just understanding the offense, knowing there was a man cutting
through so there would be no help, they wouldn't be
looking for her, so just knowing I would have that
option available was obviously good to know in that situation.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
This is a New Hampshire team that averages twelve and
a half threes per game. They made thirteen against this team.
Last year. I know it's a completely different roster, but
to shut them down, to hold them to three, I
would imagine running them off the line was a big
key tonight for stensive game plane for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah, going through scouting all week, that's all we talked about.
Knowing they are great three points shooting team potentially, and
so just running them off the line was something we
hadn't concerned all week. So our goal was actually three
three three point makes the whole game, So to be
a hole till that standard was a great a great
thing for our team going on in the future playing
against better teams.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
You guys struggle shooting from the outside in the first half,
but then really attacked the basket at the end of
the first half and really the whole second half. Was
that a conservative effort after missing a lot of threes
or is that just something in your in your mind
frame that you guys have grown up with being basketball players.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah, I think just growing up being a basketball player.
You know, you don't see shots going down earlier. You
got to try and find a few easy ones, So
getting closer to the hoop, seams, some shots going through
the rim, just getting in that confidence throughout the game
was a good thing for us.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Jayden coach early put you guys to the ringer and
practice so many different offensive looks. How complex is it really?
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Extremely complex? You know, we talk about every day we
have one of one of the best offenses in the country,
and that's all credit to the coaches, the coaching staff.
So it gives us a lot of options, a lot
of offensive advantages, and just being able to know those
reads and practicing those every day helps us a lot
every single game.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
So very good. Well, thanks for stopping by. Good job
on the win. We'll see wednesday.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Sure, thank you guys.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
