Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're back with Solo ball. You come at eleven and one.
After the win over Butler headed on the road to Paul.
So your second road game, true road game, solo first
one was in Kansas, which you know is maybe one
of the toughest places in all the country to play.
Just quickly tell me about your experience at Kansas and
coming out of there.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
With a win.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Yeah, I feel like playing in Kansas, playing at FOG
was definitely another revenge game that we had to me
being in my freshman year and also just like all
the returns that we had to like with Stu j
Ross AKA the guys have been there like freshman year
that I was with. But I mean that was definitely
a big revenge game for us. That that's a tough
environment to play in, one of the hardest arenas to
(00:44):
get like a winning and I feel like we stepped
up big in that environment and just showed how lethal
we could be.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Yeah, the noise in that place, solo, Wow. I mean
it's physical, isn't it. It's actually a physical reaction.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Oh yeah, No, definitely. Sometimes you'll go throughout spurts where
your ears are ringing and you might not be able
to hear the person next to you. But I mean
that's what makes the game fun, That's what makes it electric.
And I mean when you win in those environments, I
feel like you could win anywhere.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
All right now.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
You got to Paul on Sunday, it's a mattin a game.
I asked coach about this. Do you like playing afternoon
games because some guys I don't know, they'd rather play
at night.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
How about you?
Speaker 3 (01:26):
To be honest, I always feel like I can make
the adjustment, and I feel like everyone else on our.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Team too, is a lot better at that.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
But I feel like I'm more comfortable with like a
six pm start, six thirty seven o'clock.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
I do like those stars by me, I'm.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Always good at adjusting and being able to adjust to
like an afternoon time. I feel like that actually helps
me prepare even better when I have an afternoon game.
Just the night before, I sleep a lot better and
just a lot of different factors that I just take
into account. It just makes me go into the game
way more prepared if it's an afternoon one.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Yeah, that's good. That's good. Here.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
The other night, after the game, I was interested in
what you said. You said, I wasn't thinking about my offense.
I was thinking about rebounding or defense or something else.
And then you have your best day twenty six points
career high.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
So are you.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Gonna continue with that psychology going forward?
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Absolutely?
Speaker 3 (02:19):
I mean, defensive rebounds, what's gonna help us win the
most games. I mean, I don't have to go into
any of these games worrying about my scoring because I
know I'm a capable scorer, and I know we have
so many other people that can do the same thing
on this team. And just how people fill in roles here.
Think that's just that's our biggest strength as a team.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
So I mean, I.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Know I could just go into every game just playing
as hard as I can, one hundred percent effort, and
the outcome will be the same and will end.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Up with a win. And that's across the board for
all fifteen of us.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Yeah, all right, final thing, Jade Ross the other night, Wow,
he got the fans out of the seats. I mean,
rip City. He was doing stuff. Remnont I don't see
I mean, you don't see that. How did you view
what he did the other night?
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Man?
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Well, he did the other night I've seen for the
past seven years so, I mean I went to high
school with him.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
I mean, he's an ultra talented player.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Just to see it on the biggest stage, it's just
such a great feeling. I'm super proud of him, and
I know he's just going to keep making more noise
being a Yukon Husky. But I mean I'm overly proud
of him just because of how much work he's put in.
I've seen it. We've also seen it in practice too,
so I mean it's nothing new to us that the
circle that we have here within the practice facility and
(03:32):
like the people who see it every day. So I mean,
just him him being able to adjust and just put
everything together has been great.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Yeah, I'll tell you what.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
He's such a nice guy too. So the junior I'm
up big right, Jayleen full Little Ball and Jaden Ross
all good to see the juniors making it happen. All right, Solo,
appreciate it. Good luck. We'll see in.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Chicago, Yes, sir, thank you, John.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
