Speaker 1 (00:00):
Final segment with Caitlin Chen as the Huskies are headed
to Brooklyn. As we speak, I'll take on Louisville's Saturday Night.
We'll be on the air at eight thirty dead Fisk
and I for the Barclay Center for Yukon and Louisville.
Now we mentioned you guys spent a week in the Bahamas. Yes,
it was a business trip. Two wins over Oregon State
and then a really good win against Old miss where
(00:20):
you put up a good where they put up a
good fight, particularly in the third quarter. But let's talk
about afterwards. Uh rumor? Has it you guys swam with pigs?
Is that true? And were you involved in that?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Yes, that was true, and I was sort of involved.
I was on a floating in the ocean, so I
didn't get too close to the picture.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Okay, did you do any scuba diving or I mean
at least you know snorkeling and look at the fishies.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
No scuba diving or sharklane, but definitely a lot of
tanning and hanging out at school.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Who are your roommates by the way back on campus, myommates?
Oh wow, Oh that's going to be quite the do
I mean kk. I mean, I think she's the most
fun person on the team. What's it like to have
her as a rooming.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
It's honestly awesome having the two of them together as theirmates.
They sort of just bounce off each other and they're
constantly They're high energy, a lot of fun and definitely
make me laugh a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Hey, one thing about hoops here teams coming off a
game where they had twenty seven assists on thirty five
field goals. You had seven of those. But what's it
like to be on a team to have players like
Paige and Sarah yourself just distributing the basketball the way
you guys are. I mean, three players including yourself already
(01:41):
with twenty five assists on the season, and that's that's not,
you know, unusual at Yukon, but maybe it is for
you at the college level seeing so many teammates being
able to distribute to the ball like they do.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Yeah, it's awesome playing my Page and Sarah. They're both
such talented tossers, and I just know if I get
in a gap, they'll find me and vice versa. I
think it's a lot of fun playing this way where
you share the ball and you're always finding like the
best shot.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Yeah, you guys had a twenty to nothing run on
Tuesday night. You probably didn't know that, But what's it
feel like when you're on the floor and you guys
just everything is just going full full blast and you're
just dominating an opponent like you do it sometimes during
the year.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
That's awesome. I mean, who doesn't love doing that? You know,
especially when our defens is creating turnovers, that's leaving the
easy offense on the other end. So that was a
lot of fun. And no, I didn't realize that we
were on the twenty and nothing.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Yeah. Yeah, most most people don't, that's for sure. San Marino, California,
by the ways, where you grew up, just outside of Pasadena,
home of the Rose Bowl. Did you ever see the
big game or go to the parade?
Speaker 2 (02:56):
No, but I would always see people hang out outside
the night before the prade. I always be a ton
of people camping out.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Okay, you went to Princeton, of course, it says in
your bio at least u com bio you get a
degree in anthropology. What were some of the courses that
you would take to be a to get a degree
in anthropology?
Speaker 2 (03:22):
A lot of them are very let's it go. Well,
I was on the pre med track. I took all
of those courses that you need for pre rex for
med school. Still figuring that part out, but I sort
of switched last minute because there's this one lab process
I just didn't really want to do and bus. I
(03:43):
think anthropology sort of opened another side of my education,
focusing on more like social issues within medicine and just
in general that I don't think I would have gotten
if I would have stayed with a strictly like file major.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Okay, and you're currently working on your masters in sports management.
What are we talking? Course wise?
Speaker 2 (04:06):
There a lot of sports missing classes, research classes, sport
in society, which is one of my favorites. It's actually
focus on the WNBA, so that's been pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Okay, Finally, what do you like to do when you're
not playing basketball or dealing with school? What are some
of the fun things you like to do?
Speaker 2 (04:31):
There's not really much two in stores, I don't know
if you've noticed, but definitely hanging out with my TV.
That's probably been the highlight.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Okay, Well, yes, I have I live fifteen minutes from campus,
so I understand. Hey, Caitlin, thanks for a few minutes
with us here on the Coaches Show Tonight, safe travels
to Brooklyn and we'll see you Saturday.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Thank you, thanks for having me, and with that.
Speaker 1 (04:52):

for listening. We'll talk to you Saturday from Brooklyn.
