Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's say your numbers tonight five or seven, eleven points,
six rebounds in the win. How do you feel you're
adjusted so far? This is game eleven, now, how do
you feel that you've adjusted and trying to fit into
the with this group here at you got?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Honestly, it's still just sting. Like I'm coming off of
being somewhere for three years and you know it's only
been a couple of months, and to learn a new system.
I wish I could say it was easy, but it's
definitely not. And every game I just try to learn
from my mistakes, every practice, learned from my mistakes and
just try my best to be as to just to

(00:36):
be the best player on can be.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
What's the biggest adjustment.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
The biggest adjustment is I would say being this demon
the season is fine. Figuring out my role. You know,
I came from a place where I was the team
and I had to do everything. I got all the touches,
and now just like coach that in practice, like how
can I be a good player when the ball's not
in my hand? So just trying to feel that.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Ut you tell us a game plan tonight. Defensively, because
once again as a unit you really shut down a
team that shoots the ball well from the three, and
you know overall, So what was that game plan and
how do you think that the team did meeting their
goals for the game.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
I mean, coach every game just wants us to be
a strong defensive team and you know, attack their top players,
attack everyone, and it's just us versus the person who
has the ball, and we play a team defense and
also take the pride in ourselves individually and trying not
to let someone get a bugget on us.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Sarah, it seems like every game early on you at
least get a bucket or two. Is there a concerted
effort to get you the ball early to establish the
low post game? No, I just wanted to just work
out that way.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I just try to establish myself. I think at that
point it's a habit for me just to set that
tone in the low post. That's just what I've done
for the past three or four years. So I just
try to That's one thing I can control and carry
over with me. Especially at the beginning of the game.
Everyone's like lily daddying and trying to figure out what
to do, and that's when I can really take advantage

(02:14):
of like getting my positions.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
One of the things that we've seen is a lot
of high low happening with the post players. Whether you're
the one up top you know, passing down, or you're
the one that has position in there, that seems that
you're getting that chemistry pretty good with your teammates.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Yeah. I mean last year I was content we brought
in another post player, so I was able to learn
how to pass to the low post when I'm not
there to someone who has great hands. I mean, Sarah
Strong has amazing hands and she gets great positioning. So
I think once I flash and I have the ball
in my hands, it's only right. As a fellow post player,
I would want that to happen to me as well,

(02:50):
just to you.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Know, for tat I like that. How much have you
learned just playing with her as a teammate on the floor.
I mean you mentioned she's got the soft this hands
I think I've ever seen and I've seen this program
for twenty five years.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yeah, I mean, Sara Strong is just like one of
those people that make basketball look easy, Like some people
are born to play basketball and hoop and she just
makes it look so easy and for playing as long
as I have and seeing the players I've seen so
far like that's not easy to do, and she she

(03:25):
just has it.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Thank you for a few minutes enda. We'll see you
Saturday in Brooklyn. Congratulations on the wed tonight.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Thank you having tonight.
