Speaker 1 (00:02):
I thought up started with the offense and how's everybody
clicking so far at day three? Yeah, first and foremost,
I just want to thank my learn savor Jesus Christ
for being able to play this amazing game. Our offense
has been clicking well for the through the first three days.
You know, it's really nice being able to get out
here again and put pads on. You know, we've all
been waiting for it all summer. It's what we've been
working for all summer. So we got a lot to improve, obviously,
(00:23):
but we're we're happy with where we're at right now.
How's the scheme look different from a year ago. It's
definitely different that you know, a lot of the terminology
is the same, but we're doing a lot of different things.
You know, we all love what's going on right now.
We all trust coach Samus and you're really excited for
the season.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Two part question, tell me about the your fellow wide receivers,
the Creos friends command the upgrade and I'll ask you
your second form.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Yeah, yeah, of course. Yeah, it's been awesome TJ Easy.
You know, they've been great additions. Obviously, Sky came in
in the winter. You know, it's been a great time
getting to work with them all summer, you know, making
each other better, just kind of like learning from each
other and seeing it on film and whatnot. So it's
been a great great additions.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Am I sick? What have you seen in the quarterback competition?
Two guys that were here last year to newcomers including transfer.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yeah, everyone's been doing really well. You know, they've all
been picking up the offense really well. All the new
guys coming in and obviously the guys that have been here,
I've been doing a great job as well, just you know,
going forward through what they already know. It's been great
watching them compete, and it's gonna be great seeing it
all camp. You know, it's long camp, so we'll see
as time goes on what ends up happening.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
What was it about in this place? You've kind of
kind of brought out the best of the last year.
You've brought out you know, maybe your best year.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Yeah. I think just coaches put me in the right positions,
you know. I feel like they put me in positions
for me to succeed things that I haven't done in
the past, and I was really excited to get to
do it. And then all off season, I've been able
to build on all that kind of stuff that I
did last year, so I'm really excited going into this year.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
What are some of those positions, What are what placed
your streets?
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah, a lot of Honestly, what I've been really happy
to do is a lot of the blocking stuff. You know,
I've been in the backfield blocking lead blocking for for
the running backs and stuff. I like to get down
and dirty. So it's been fun kind of doing that
kind of stuff where I haven't done that in the past.
And then just in the past game playing more slot.
I enjoy the slot and I think that's more of
my true position. So I've been, you know, able to
learn that throughout the offseason and and and kind of
(02:16):
grow on it.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
But what's so receivers Now, maybe I could get down
field and and and stretch a defense. I could really
open things up for you, or I can find find
seams and thre and space underneath. Right.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
Yeah, for sure, you know we're we're have the same
schemes in but obviously with new personnel it changes up
a little bit of what we do. And that's that's
what Camp's ford is figuring out what we're good at
and uh, how to how to improve this a summer
bent like just bringing all these new guys in and
just the other receivers quarterbacks. Yeah, it's been great. I
mean we've we've all been grinding, uh you know, the
(02:47):
workouts every single day and and just getting better off
the field as well, and getting to know each other
more and you know, working on the jugs or whatever
we we end up doing. But it's been great getting
to know them all. It's just a very sense to
Brugin for sure, sense of urgency. You know, this offseason,
Every every off season I've taken really seriously, but obviously
this one, knowing it was my last year, didn't really
(03:09):
change my work ethic because it's it's always been the same,
really hard worker. But it's been it's been great knowing
what just enjoying this last year and really trying to
take it all in. What about the weight room this year?
Strength conditioning? How how much more muscle have you put on?
And playing weight? Yeah? Yeah, I lost five pounds. That
was something that we wanted to do that I got
through my coaches. I was at like two two, I'm
(03:30):
at like one ninety seven now. We actually did like
scans of like body fat percentage. I lost two percent
body fat throughout the summer. So we've all, I mean,
we've all our entire offense lost you know, body fat percentage.
So it's been it's been great. We were really grinding
and we're all grinding and that's a testament to our strength.
Coaches have an memberships open or yeah, I mean going.
He's right there, you go ask him. I have one question, Yeah,
(03:56):
my football question.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
The last camp obviously, so next year at this time,
what are you hoping to be doing.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
I'm hoping to be in the NFL. I'm chasing my dreams,
you know. It's what I put I put in all
the work for It's that's my goal, and I'll work
every day for it.
