Speaker 1 (00:00):
So you, being a senior, have been through all of this. Yes,
what was your thoughts as that strike three was being caught?

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Knowing that you've.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Had so many close chances to get to the NCAA,
is getting the finals of the Biggies and finally Saturday.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
You'll win it. Yeah, I think I don't know if
I have the words to like fully capture the journey.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
But you know something I said going in.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Is the week before I felt like we had our storm.
We lost the series to take the number one seed
in the regular season, but in order to see the
rainbow and celebrate the sunlight, we had to go through it.
And I think, yeah, I mean, it's just a testament
to all of the work that we've put in and

(00:50):
it was just a really special moment.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
So what's it quitin like to see this way that
excuse me, you kind of play softball change? It went
from a speed team to maching the ball.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yeah, it's really awesome to see the change because I
think it's a part of our identity this year that
not a lot of schools within the conference expected or
saw coming from us. And we've always had a like
power dynamic, but this year it was really like throughout
the entire lineup, we were able to put the ball
on the ground or hit it out the park when

(01:22):
we need.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
To so, and knowing that top to bottom you have
players teammates in your lineup that you know there's no
pressure because you know the person in front of or
the person behind you should have gonna go out and
get a hit or go get a home run.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I mean, I think it just helps you stay process
oriented and in the mindset of what does the team
need for me now, and just pass the bat.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
What was the Tennessee weekend like for you and as
a team, it seems like it's like the confidence level
went up with this team.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Yeah, definitely.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
I think just being able to know that we can
hang with teams like that and we compete and dominate
at that level, especially from a defensive standpoint, something that
coach has always preaches a defense wins championships, and we
needed a few more clutch hits.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
But being able to just take that experience.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Have fun play and high pressure situations and learn from
it was I think really helpful going into the Big
East Tournament and just being able to play really calm
and making it feel like.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
It was a bit smaller and just another game.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
What about catchy impact with Georgeto.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Yeah, I mean, it's just been amazing to see her
confidence and using her voice in the infield and her leadership.
I think she's just an incredibly dynamic player.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
And I mean, I'm excited to see her. Girl.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
She's took on a hard role being a freshman, but
she's excelled and she likes to be challenged, and yeah,
I mean, I'm just I'm really proud of her and
I'm excited to see where her career takes her.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Now for a podcast Jared Tyler, I think it's one
of the I think it's a sort.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Of yes, yep.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
But Jared asked her about a win here, success here,
success at camp, success of the baseball field, football is
in a bowl game. Yes, I imagine that has to
drive you guys a little bit. Hey, you want a
piece of that?

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
I think softball and a few others were one of
the few sports that hadn't gotten back to that championship.
I guess game win n CUAA tournaments and we were
just like, why not us?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
We have everything? It takes him more and.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
You know, we have all the support and belief and yeah,
I mean he's really awesome to see everyone rally around
us and just be able to make everyone proud as well. Trust.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
You've been to gamble listening to Section FO. Yeah, what's
it like to have somebody has magnetic as Page to
just Hey, you went to school with Page. I don't
know if you have a class or ever member, but
just to see what she can do and how it
can affect you as a student athlete.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Yeah, I mean I think I definitely look up to
her personally. I mean, she's an incredible team player, her
leadership is amazing, She's dynamic athletically, and she really plays
for something bigger than herself and she sheds light on
a lot of the good and she's led by faith

(04:33):
and that's something that's been really important to a lot
of us on this specific team.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
So being able to see her growth from.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Student athlete to student athlete friend a friend has been
really awesome but also incredibly inspiring for so many within
the athletic community here.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Finally, you've been on this road with coach Valentino. Yeah,
what's it been like?

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Yeah, I think the word that comes to mind is
just trust and belief, I think she trusted and believed
in me that I could be a part of helping
bring a championship back. And I trusted her vision and
belief that she could help me become the best player.
And you know, I'm just incredibly grateful for her and

(05:21):
the opportunity she's given me. And you know, I think
Yukon is really lucky to have her, and I'm lucky
to have been coached by her too,
