Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, you've heard you from propasy. I'm sorry prapasing for
the media, maybe maybe.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
A little Yeah, Sarah sophomore, Now, you had a great
freshman year. What do you feel like you want to
do more this year versus last year?
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Uh? This year, I wanna kind of step into trying
to help lead lead the team. I feel like, use
my voice, use my voice more and wherever it's new,
and just be there for my teammates.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Do you feel like you're different now versus last year
at this time or last year you were pretty quiet?
Speaker 1 (00:34):
No, Yeah, for sure. I feel like, especially just trying
to talk to the freshman, I feel like I'm doing
a good job of actually talking on and off the court.
So yeah, very different.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
I about preparing yourself from the beginning of this you
had summer workouts and that going up, it's still a
busy off season.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
It's ASIE National camp.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Was it easier to prepare for the for this part
of the season than when you were freshman?
Speaker 1 (00:59):
I would say so. I felt like I I kind
of know what to expect, so I can prepare better
mentally and just physically.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Was there one thing in the off season You're like,
I wanna get better at this, whether it's on the
court conditioning, was there something you really focusing on?
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Definitely try to stay in good con like condition and
stuff like that. But on the court, I would say
I've been working on dribble pull ups, kind of more
guard stuff, learning the players from the guards perspective and
stuff like that. This is a much bigger team for
you guys this year.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
You guys have more link just kinna. What is that
like for you?
Speaker 1 (01:32):
How does that change your role not having to like play?
I mean, yeah, I they t like today, I was
playing defense on the guards and they said BIG's going
on there and I just stayed. But it's it's kind
of weird cause I'm not really used to playing that
much on the on the guard side, but I'm I'm
looking forward to it. We can get to see Blanca
in the scrimmage you guys had last weekend, So, uh,
(01:54):
what's it been like playing with her and what's she
like as a player. I mean, Blanca is great. She
reached the game really well, very high IQ. She can
do a little bit everything, so it's very easy to
play with her. So sor and like, did you know
her just off the court? Do you guys speak a
Spanish together. We try. I mean I told her to
help me, but I'm just not really trying to get
(02:15):
help in a way. But I mean she's she's great. Uh,
she's very funny, kind of introverted to where we're getting
her out of her.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
So, So Gina was saying that you you oftentimes see
a big jump from year one and a player to
year two. What do you hope like that jump looks
like for you? In what ways do you feel like
you can elevate the game even further with the major
things you've learned from last year that you can now
apply to this year.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Like I said before, I feel like just being more
vocal and just being more confident, not going into the
games just I'm not gonna say scared, but just like nervous.
I mean I've been there before, so I just know
what to expect and just being myself being confident.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
You looks pretty comfortable in March madness.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Hm. Yeah, I mean this. I guess that's how I play.
But I mean just go out there and just play
enough fun.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
So are you haven't la? You don't lose a lot,
but this summer, you know in the three on three
year team lost. He knows there anything that you can
learn from that to take care of this season.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Yeah, kind of don't take teams, like, don't take any
game for granted. I mean, anyone can be anyone in
any given moment. I feel like we went into that
game kind of cocky. I would say that, but I mean,
just play every kind of just play every team the same,
like they're really good and stuff like. That's concusing having
another Sarah around. No, Yeah, it is like Ceeds saying
(03:31):
Sarah yelling Sarah. I'm like turning my head. I don't
know who she's talking to, but I mean it'll be fine.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
What's been like having her?
Speaker 1 (03:38):
I mean Sarah's great. I just see great roommate, great
player on the course. So it's just their experience. She's
been here before, well not really, but like she knows
a lot about the game, so it's fun to play
with her.
