(00:00):
You don't stop and get a coffeeon the way in. Now I have
some ready at home, right, the I do, and then I'll stop
on the way home, and thenI'll sometimes go back out and get more.
But the is there is there acup? And I would never do
it because I'm friendly with my seveneleven guys? But is there is there?

(00:21):
Is there? And whether it's atseven eleven sheets wah wah, like
I run down all of them?Is there is there a cup scam that
people use? Meaning what, Yeah, I don't I don't care what you're
talking about, Like, is thereis there? Like when I say scam,
maybe it's more of like a hackthat people use. Like for example,

(00:42):
I was reading about there's a there, there's a there's an assistant principle
or maybe was the head principle. He ended up getting fired from his job
because of it. But he wouldhe would go to the convenience store,
and the store that he went to, you would have to buy the cup
ahead of time, so they wouldgive you the So think of it as
like you're you're getting a fountain drinkat a fast food place, right,

(01:03):
so you would go, hey,I want to get a medium and they
would give you the medium cup.But the truth is, because they give
you room for ice and everything, you could actually put large in there and
you would you would get a largeworth of soda for a medium price.

(01:23):
Does that? Does that hack existhere somewhere? Explain to me the cup
size issue. So this one guy, this one guy, he's a principal
at a school, right, sohe was going to he would go to
the counter and go give me aregular coffee, and they would give him
the coffee, and then he wouldgo over to the machine. But what
he realized was is that when theygave you the regular, it didn't fill

(01:47):
it up all the way, soit left you a gap in case you
wanted to put like milk or halfand half or almond milk or whatever.
But if you wanted to like dressit up a little bit and then put
in like like sugar in all kindsof stuff, that that you had extra
room in there to be able toput milk in. And some people put

(02:07):
a lot of milk in coffee. So the gap at the top of the
regular was roomy enough that if youhit large on the machine, you could
actually get a large inside the regular. Now, the large would go all
the way up to the brim, but you had enough room. So the
guy was actually stealing that much coffeeevery time he would get a coffee.

(02:30):
You're operating a business, don't yourealize that's a possibility. Yeah, but
it doesn't make it right. Bythe machine, you have to select size
and it fills to what it thinksis that capacity. So, for example,
I have never done a self servecoffee machine anywhere. I did three

(02:53):
yesterday. He stopped three times forcoffee, stopped on the way in,
stopped on the way home, andthen I had to go. I had
I had a meeting last night, and then I stopped before I went there
to get another coffee. And thenI was going to get one, but
the meeting ran late. I didn'tget out of the meetingun till nine thirty.
I was gonna get another one onthe way home anyway, but I
didn't. I just whatever the Sowhen you go in, when you go

(03:16):
into seven eleven, which is theone I know best, you get the
cops like they have the cups onthe bottom right and you pull out.
I always get the large right andthen there's a machine. Now there is
some of the old school, likeyou just press the top down. But
on the machine you could choose, like you could choose they've got the fancy
machine for like cappuccino and latte andAmericano and all that other stuff. Or

(03:39):
you could just get one hundred percentColombian or house Blend. Well, I
get house Blend seven eleven. Knowswhat they're doing. So I put my
cup up there and you hit largeon the on the machine, okay,
And then on the machine it says, do you want room for creamer?
Well, I always say no,so I know that it fills up that

(03:59):
much more of call versus leaving roomfor creamer. And someone got fired.
Yeah because of this. That seemsridiculous. And by the way, so
you're ready for how they got fired. You're ready for how they got fired.
So he did it. He didit. He did it twice.
And the guy behind the counter, that's it. He wasn't like he was
doing it for years. The guybehind the counter saw him and confronted him

(04:20):
and said, hey, you're stealing. Yeah, you're stealing an inch of
coffee. Yeah every time the okay, that adds up, okay, like
over over ten inches of coffee. So he said something to him on the
second time. It was like, hey, cut it, and he's like,
I'm going to call the police forstealing, and the guy essentially turned

(04:42):
around and said, okay, letme call my nuts. Call my nuts.
Anyway, the cashier guy told someother people. Well, the other
people know that he's a principal ata school. So they they went and
they told the school, and theschool asked me. He's like, I've
done it seven times in my life, and they were like, you're not
the kind of leader we want.Whoa they fired him. Oh my god,

(05:02):
that seems ridiculous. Why is thatridiculous? Would it have been better
if he went stole seven televisions?Well, and it wasn't even because I
thought maybe before you said, peopleknew he was a principal. It's not
like this was a convenience store kiosquetype thing on a campus. No,
it was about a mile away, right, But it wasn't like run by

(05:23):
or contracted by the school. No, it's a seven eleven a couple blocks
away from the school. Listen,I'm a stickler, But that seems crazy.
He did they need it out?No? No, Actually, he
was very well liked there. There'sa lot of parents who were saying the
same thing that you guys are.But the argument against that is it would
it be better if he just stoppedat a car dealership and stole a car?

(05:45):
Okay, then those become felonies ifhe choose, if he chooses to
steal seven cars, they're like, you're firing this guy over four dollars and
seventy cents, which they figured outis the difference. Did they use this
as a teaching moment for him tomaybe address the school and say, look
at what I'd done and this ishorrible, and I apologize and I'll make
it good. When you are theprinciple of school, you're held to a

(06:08):
higher standard. Okay, not onlyare you a role model for children,
you're also a leader of staff. And so how many how many times does
he have to do it before youwould say, you know what, now
he's done it seven times? Thathe copped to how many times? Well,
initially you only cop to four? How many times? How many times?

(06:30):
Until Diane, you go, that'senough, because is it the value
of stealing a car on the wayin? It just seems excessive. What
if he came to your house andjust stole things from your house on the
way in. Well it's different. How is that different? Well, could
you always say victimless crime? Thisisn't a victimless crime, but this is
that's seven inches of coffee. Theycould literally be done with the same frequency

(06:54):
as an accident unknowingly. No,your examples, there's a lot of intent,
like stealing a car. You don't. Yes, I guess we have
come across incidents where people have accidentallytaken one. But for the most part,
it's designed that you're going to goin and commit this crime. I
feel like it's not designed. I'venever done it, and I can do

(07:15):
it all the time. No,I'm talking about for a car, right,
but for this, like if you'renot familiar with the machine and you're
just hitting buttons, or you're givinga cup and don't realize if it's a
larger regularly Okay, but he doeshe does. I understand he did it
on purpose, But I could seesomebody for a long period of time if
no one said anything, just doingit inadvertently, just the accidentally. I

(07:39):
got the I got the regular, but I keep and even though it says
regular on the machine, I justkeep pushing large, because I don't know
to hit regular. Well, maybeyou've done some shopping and you've forgotten what
the size cup you've been handed.Listen, I hate to go old school,
but remember when Wendy's had the saladbars, right, and you could
get the one time use or allyou can eat? Well, everybody got

(08:01):
the one when I amused, Butwhat did they do? You go back
for more all you can eat?Right? Especially you would get all the
salad bar stuff, and then yougo I got room for pudding? Yeah,
and then you would go get thepudding. And what's wrong with a
little chocolate pudding with some lettuce init? Who words for that beach week?
But that your your equivalent there islike I ordered the one time,
but I didn't I didn't know.I didn't know. I just kept going

(08:22):
up, one time at a time. Come on, the button says regular
or large, and he's pushing largewhen he bought the regular cup. That's
not inadvertent. I just can't believehe was let go. I understand a
business getting upset with him and askinghim to stop, but then to be
fired for that? Would it bewould it be better? Would it be

(08:43):
better if he carjacks someone on theway in their cars. Well, you're
you're dealing in extremes now, armyeah, armed carjacktor. What about if
you like beat up seven teachers?Yeah, okay, there's that. Okay,
Yeah, that you're okay with.Doesn't he know he can just get
to work and take it from out. Elliott's a pussy anything no and saying

(09:05):
you know what, and I'm tiredof it. I'm tired of it.
Nobody. No, you won't sayanything but nobody because you know why,
because nobody. Nobody says nobody asked. They just take. Now, they
just take. Well, that's right. Yeah. On Monday, I think
it was you did direct a lotof your bottled up banger at Diane for
allowing somebody to take some Yeah, who took one cup? And he asked

(09:28):
nicely and he said, I promisebecause we were all out of coffee and
get excuse me, So going backto and ask these people to hold going
back to the pandemic, right,we were the only ones here. Everybody
everybody else ran home with their tailbetween their legs. But we kept coming
in. But they didn't have peoplecoming into the building to service the machines.
So Trey, God bless them. Two people saved our lives during the

(09:50):
pandemic, The Trey who got usthe coffee machine, right, and Swings
Coffee who got us a coffee grinderand gave us bag and bags and bags
and bags of coffee. Can youplease walk over to the trash can for
what you too late? I swallowedthat. Oh okay, the so and
I've never stopped. So I makecoffee every day, and I don't like

(10:11):
anybody else to do it. SoI make coffee every day out of the
out of the machine. Right, there's free coffee down the hall. I
pay for the I buy Tim Hortonbeans or I go to Swings and I
get one of the two, dependingon where I am in my my schedule.
Right. But that, by theway, three years I'm buying coffee.
I don't ask for anything. Idon't ask for anything. I made

(10:33):
the mistake once the coffee machine wasbroken, and and and god damn Chilia
mar came up and was like, you come, you can cot me.
You can? I understand you can? I hand them and so I said
yeah, And I think I mayhave said, yeah, help yourself.

(10:56):
Okay, I shouldn't have said helpyourself because the other day again the coffee
machine, the free one free onefree one out of pods. Yeah,
I mean they've Yeah we had wehad no tea, no coffee, right,
Okay, But no, she didn'task, she just took. She
just took. So she thinks there'sno expiration date as to your generosity.

(11:18):
Yeah, she just took. Butit's been replenished this week. The guy
was here and she's still taken. She's still taken. I saw her the
other and it's uncomfortable. Now Ido want to ask because this is going
on. And then Diane, andthen Diane when they were around some guy
I don't even know him, somegod, a very nice traffic reporter that
we see all the time. Ican't remember. We see it. What's

(11:41):
his name? I told you Ican't remember. We see him all the
time. He's very right up inthe elevator with him. I told you
I can't remember. You know,I'm bad with names. The really,
what's my name? Okay? Anyway, he was saying, oh, man,
they're there. We were out ofcoffee, we're out of tea.
And he asked, He's like,do you guys have some? No?

(12:01):
And I said, standing right nextto the carafe. No, they're in
the elephant. No, no,no, no. We were in the
kitchen, the kitchen where there isnot so go. Kristin and I were
in there. He's like, doyou do you guys have any and I
say, we don't know, andhe said, would you mind? How
does he know we have coffee?I know because he asked, and I

(12:22):
said yes, would you stood?Because he said, I swear I'll only
take a cup? Right, Well, Chili didn't say that. Has he
been over near the craft before?Over here? Yeah? No, that
really nice guy. No, yousee him all the time. What's his
name? Exactly? So anyway,so what so now he took he took

(12:46):
a cup. I gotta go makeyou know. I got a bye the
president by the way. You knowyou know what I you know what I
didn't here? You know what Ididn't here? Where's the thank you?
Where's the thank you? I don'teven get a thank you from Chili?
Listen, I get it, Godbless right. It's they all want to
come over. They all want hercoffee. That's fine, it's it's better

(13:09):
than the pods, but you getfree coffee. So the real question is
when is an in office courtesy likethat? Uh, no longer valid?
Well, according to Chili, never, she'n just take it whenever she wants.
And now I've let it go onso long I can't tell her back
it up. That comes back tothe P word. M. Yeah,
no, because now I can't backit up. And by the way,

(13:31):
why don't you why don't you askFat Toby to stay? He stops every
day on the way in. Whydon't you tell him to pick you up
a cup of coffee? Well, now, who has that nickname? I
thought it was Zach's. I gotFat Zach, I got Fat Toby,
I got all of them. Buthe stops. He stops at McDonald's and
comes in with a bag. Theytell him to get you one. I
would check him for that scam.So you like this principle, you want

(13:54):
Chili fired? Yes, I hateto admit it. And and Diane's traffic
friend. What's his name? Itold you I cannot remember. That's that's
not true. It's not that youcan't remember the real answer is, I
don't know. I don't know,full disclosure, I don't know. Right,
Oh, but a nice guy,but he's he holds the elevator for

(14:16):
me if I pull in behind him, you know what, then let's go
plug the machine in by his deskand let and let him just take as
much as he wants. You're leavingout though his name should be Chili.
One one small chapter in this bookthat has no end. You walked out
if you're one day fired up aboutsomething, well coffee related, but something

(14:39):
triggered you, probably Diane string thecoffee the coffee pot. Uh, and
you've yelled something and then the pitlike reported back to Chili. Oh yeah,
and Chili was in like like angryat you. Yeah, angry.
I called you a bit and andsaid, uh, what I like he

(15:05):
does he want me to buy itfor him? Yeah? Yeah, what
would be so bad? Yeah?So you've been called out? Yeah,
and you know what, I've gonesoft and I've gone soft. Yeah.
In the old days would have said, you want to hot coffee? And
I know the gun I've thrown.No. No, in the old days,
I wouldn't throw a coffee hot.You can't do that. Why don't

(15:30):
you give her shots? Coffee pot? That the one that I threw off
the building? That was the olddays. That's true, right, And
he made coffee for everybody. Andlook what happened to him. Somebody broke
his coffee pot and he got fired. I don't know where he is these
days. He very happy, andI know he's not in Paris with Memo.
That's all I know. I amat least you know his name,

(15:58):
all right? Where am I goinghere? That's because Diane listened to his
story. Okay, this week we'redoing a show for nobody, even Christen's
like, what the hell are theytalking about? Hi Ellie in the morning?
How are you mad about four inchesof coffee when you don't even pay for cable
