Speaker 1 (00:00):
If somebody gets laid off, they'll update everything on LinkedIn, right,
And so they'll go to LinkedIn and they'll say, Hey,
the laid off bug got me or the wave or
whatever it is.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
But all of a sudden, everybody's talking about how grateful they.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Are to be laid off.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Well, hey, I got laid off, but just I'm real
proud of what we did.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
I'm grateful for the opportunity.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
That I had.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Almost like you're thinking the place.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
I've seen that on Instagram and x as well, from like,
I don't want to say public figures, but from take
media outlets. Writers when they get laid off, right, they
tend to do that a lot, maybe because they want
to let their audience and their fans know they've been
let go.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Oh I have no problem with you updating and going, hey,
I got laid off, But why am I kissing ass
of the company?

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Oh you don't like the second part of it?

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Yeah, no, no, I understand up like updating something and
going you know, like, hey, this kind of this kind
of blows Huh. I got laid off today, But why
why the part afterwards of hey, just want to say
I'm really grateful for the opportunity and the team and
all this other stuff like why why are we making

(01:20):
it sound so good?

Speaker 3 (01:23):
You do you want to always try to leave a
door open.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
So for what to go back?

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Yeah, no, you're you're not supposed to burn a bridge.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Oh god, what No?

Speaker 3 (01:35):
No, you hate that.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
That is the.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Worst saying ever. Again, I'm not saying that like burning
a bridge. I get right, I under I understand that mindset.
So that's when they go, hey, you're being laid off
that you don't like pull your pants down and shake
your wing at them and go here eat it. Like
I understand that you don't want to do that. That

(01:58):
would be burning a bridge.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Yeah, but if you say a lot of like negative stuff,
that can be burning a bridge too.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
But I'm not even saying you got to rip the place.
I would, but I'm not saying you got to rip
the place. But why why do you have to kiss
their ass? And they said it's become very very commonplace
almost where it's almost where it's like I'm better for
the experience.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
They just fired you.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
You see that all the time on X they just
fired you. But is it is it a really just
an advertisement for the next company.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Of Hey, you know what, you can fire me and
I don't care.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Now, look at this positive attitude this person is withholding.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Or having, but it's okay to be angry. And I've
learned X Y Z at this former place of employment. Right,
And you could say all of that in an interview
behind closed doors.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah, when you get interviewed.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
And by the way, the thing that I was reading,
they were like, so they they reached out to these
people that had been that had been let go, right,
and they were like, and they saw them online, whether
it was whether it was x or Instagram or LinkedIn
or whatever, and they saw people that were so gracious
about being let go, and they said, hey, anonymously, what

(03:21):
do you really want to say? And people wrote back
they said it was pretty split. Some people were like, no,
you know what, like the company sucks, but I really am.
I enjoyed the team that I worked with. I enjoyed
the people I worked with. I did learn a lot.
So you have those people and then you have the
other ones that are like I wanted to f them.
It's one of the worst run companies I've ever been at.

(03:42):
They suck all it's all, you know, all the money
goes to management by the way, they're sexist their ages,
you know, like whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
So is the argument being made that for the most part,
these statements are coming off as fake. No, of course
they're people are seeing through them. Yes, of course, So
no need and it's not necessary.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Exactly why do you have to put that up there,
just say you got to let go.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
I thought just you were saying please don't do this.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
No, no, because everybody could see through it. You think
everybody that gets laid off you're like, oh wow, you
know what, Look how happy they are. Well, I'm richer
for the experience. Well you're not richer in two weeks
you ain't getting a check.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
That's true. That's true.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
And they said, like they'll talk to people where it's like, well,
you know what, things weren't good and we got bought
out by like some venture capitalist company or whatever they
call them, and the first thing they do is they
come in and they just start whittling people away. But
everybody who gets little way is like, well, you know what,
it caught up with us. How about you know, you
work for a company that went bankrupt. And again I'm

(04:53):
not saying that you got to go on there and
on LinkedIn and just start saying, you know, eat the.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
High holy hard one. You don't have to do that.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
But don't go on there and talk about how oh
you know, the experience was was gratifying. My team and
I put together some great projects, well, things that I'm
proud of that everybody sees through it.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
What if your stuff, though, is very much tied to
your name, What do you mean? Yes, you could work
in an office and it's a thankless job, even though
you may be important, not us, even though you may
be an important cog. No one knows who you are

(05:34):
outside of the building. But for those who are saying
they're immensely proud of the work they've done, their work
may be in the hands of consumers, and consumers know
exactly who these people are.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Oh, I'm very proud of the work that we've done.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
But that's that's the difference. So if you're okay, I
understand maybe not kissing the ass of the company.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah, And if I got would be like, well got fired,
very proud of what we did.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Oh, so you be comfortable saying that, Well I could.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yeah, but I'm not going on going like, wow, you
know what the the experience eat it.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
You just want people to think that you are taking
all of that which you've produced and saying if all
of it, you know, it's like your scorched earth. You
like what you made there or how you contributed there,
and are proud of.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
What we did. Yes, yeah, I would kiss iheart's ass.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
I know you wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Yeah, I would expect anybody to.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
But you can understand where in maybe some cases, and
I guess my head just keeps going to like writers,
because that's how you see this from most Often they
are maybe thanking the company for giving them the platform, Oh.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
God, yes, no.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
No, to publish their work.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah, they give me the platform and I do my thing?
Are you? But I'm not thanking them for the platform.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Who's providing you with this microphone?

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Oh? Sure?

Speaker 1 (07:08):
But but but but it goes to the other point.
Everybody can see through it. Everybody knows that people are miserable. Christ,
will you do me a favor. Will you find me
somebody who's been laid off recently, please.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
And who's made a post like that or not?

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Just and just to begin with yeah, just to begin
with somebody who's been laid off recently? Eight six six
to Elliott eight six six two three five five four
six eight, And.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Are we going to and you always like to, are
we going to distinguish between laid off it's the same thing, no, no, no,
or fired for cause? Because Aaron for myrtle breach, myrtle
beach brings up a great example.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Wait wait so here wait, fired for cause, like you
were stealing from the place, like.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
There's a very specific reason, and you were foed.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Oh no, so you could be fired for downsizing, you
could be fired for whatever.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Like that's fired not for cause.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
And I don't know, I've never understood the difference between
laid off fired for for no cause. By the way,
everybody's like, well, I wasn't let go, My contract wasn't renewed.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
You were fired, right, you were fired. They had a choice.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
But laid off somehow gives you an inkling of hope
that there's good a good chance you might be back,
or at least a.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Little chance never going back, never going back. Well, I
say that.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Now might be called my mortgage. My mortgage starts to
pile up. I may wait called back no, but I
mean yeah, like a layout, Oh I gotta give the number.
I'm sorry, eight six six to Elliott eight six six,
two three five, five four six eight, someone within like
the last year, who was excuse me, who was laid off, fired, whatever,
within the last year.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
Please, I'm sure people have been called back to their
jobs after being laid off.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Yeah, and I yes, it depends on your situation. I'd
rather not go back, but I guess if I have to,
I have to. Boy, don't look for that same productivity
out of me, though.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
When Lindsay was laid off from Discovery, a handful of
her co workers and colleagues went back after some time.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Are they still there?

Speaker 6 (09:16):
No?

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah, I didn't think so.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
You might one might still be there.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
You're always the first one. If you get brought back
and then they fire, you're out again. Like we've done
this once, goodbye once. Exactly what did Aaron say?

Speaker 3 (09:29):
Aaron from Myrtle Beach says Carlos, who did get fired
for a specific incident. However, he says, prime example, he
was way too nice in the phone call with you.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
You know what, That is a good point.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
He did keep thinking everyone and called people out by name,
his producer Dustin and others for the experience.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
He's also in a little bit of a different boat though.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Is it because the industry he wasn't laid off at all?

Speaker 2 (10:00):
He was fired. Yes, yeah, he was fired.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Yes, yeah, the the and by the way, he's not
coming back.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
But I do think he kind of surprised you. You
thought he'd be a little uh more scorched stir Yeah, yes, no,
that scorched shirt, but just a little more aggressive.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
I did.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
I thought he would be about how he was fired. Remember,
he's why he.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Was like, I tried something, I took a risk, yeah right,
and I fell in my face.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
And he but he knew, he knew that when he
did it, he knew it was a calculated risk. So
maybe that's why. Listen, he was never supposed to have
that job. That job was already supposed to have been
filled months ago.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Oh just in terms of the full time. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
So like for him, he was what did they call that?
Like when you're living on borrowed time?

Speaker 3 (10:48):
How's money?

Speaker 2 (10:49):
How's money? He's playing with? How's money? Yeah? So he
was fine.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Now if I were him, I would have been salty
about how he was fired. But the morning after, well no,
because they were like they didn't come out and say
you got fired for what you did. They were just like,
we don't really have to discuss this. And that's the
other thing. One more thing, let me get up on
this pedestal. Companies are pussies when it comes to letting

(11:13):
everybody go like. They won't say exactly, well, you know, yeah,
just tell me you're firing me. We're going in another
direction away from you. Okay, yeah, you're firing me.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
But it's okay.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
People get fired. I've been fired so many times and
nobody ever fired me and was like, and listen. Some
of them have been because the some of them because
I got it, and others have been because the company's
going broke the the the company is going to spend

(11:52):
money they sold.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Like, whatever it is, you still get fired. That's okay.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
But you, I think, in an honest moment with say
that the experiences and some of those jobs, it was
invaluable to your career. Yes, so you would want to say.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
That no into my pillow, the no no, no, Like
I wouldn't go out there. I'm trying to think who,
like who? An example would be Pirate Radio. Yeah, okay,
they blew up the radio because it didn't do well.
But I'm not going to go on there and go, wow,
you know what, these are the greatest people.

Speaker 5 (12:28):
No.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Yeah, but you got to work with some very great people, yes,
and learned a ton.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Yeah, but I'm not going to post something online about
oh well, I'm so much richer for the experience and
a great team and uh oh this is fabulous. No,
just say I worked at Pirate and they let us
go looking for my next.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Thing on the beach.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
You don't think everybody was like, wow, that station took
off and then collapse, like people know what happened.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
I like this headline. Why the hell is everyone pretending
to be grateful they got laid off?

Speaker 2 (13:05):
That's what I mean.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
You can still I'm not saying it has to be bad,
but when you start going down that road of like,
oh it was all unicorns and I was fart and
faery dust, everybody knows you're lying.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
It's it's definitely possible you're lying. Yes, there are some
employees who may be speaking with one hundred percent honesty.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
If I got fired tomorrow from here, I would be
unbelievably proud of what we did.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
I would have zero regrets.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
It depends on what I got fired for, but I
would have zero regrets, zero regrets.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
But I'm not going to go online and start it.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
I would be like, yeah, we had a great run,
got fired, going out on top it was awesome.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Where I'm available, like that would be it.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
I would be in here like, oh, but let me
think the thirty five pds who have walked through here
for allowing me the platform, and the thirty nine gms,
all of who have been fired for no no one cares.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Sounds like a PD killer to me. That's all I'm saying.
You don't have to kiss.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
Not your personality, But plenty of people have that personality
where they would be no, I don't die.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
It is Diane.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
It is like I'm trying to think of somebody who
who would you can't would make a post like that
and it would be genuine. And I think of Jen
Jen who with no hair on her butt hoole yes
if if she that's that's kind of her personality. She
is upbeat that way.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Where the bodies are buried.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
That's why she doesn't get fired. No, but that's also
why she doesn't have to kiss anybody's as No.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
But I'm just saying, like I could see that I
can't coming her.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Well, I got I got let go today. I'll miss
my co workers.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
And I'm thankful for the opportunities I was grown the bad. Yes,
I don't know what she came to mind when I
was trying to think.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Of somebody, nice, professional lady.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
Around here who would post them.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
Why are you thanking them? They fired you. You could
be appreciative of what you did. You could be you
could be happy with what you did. You could be
happy with your coworks. Why am I thanking you for
firing me?

Speaker 3 (15:24):
Cry baby writes, I definitely was not grateful to be
laid off and bills.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
No, and that's what I mean, Like, you don't thank
them they fired you, You're certainly not.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
I think we can all agree you're not thanking them
for the period of uncertainty that now follows that I got.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
To thank them for. You know what, how about they
thank you? Thank you they did when they fired me.
It's very simple.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Didn't tell me why no, no, But it's simple. You
provide a service to them, They pay you for the service.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Very easy. They should thank you.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
They should go on their LinkedIn and go, hey, we
had to let Elliott go today, but I really want
to thank him now.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
They wouldn't I.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Missed the big press release of them thanking roach. They
just went in another direction.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
No, they didn't. Where am I going? Line five? I
can lay that out for you. I probably won't right now.
Hi Elliott in the morning.

Speaker 6 (16:28):
Hey Elliot, what's going on? Man?

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Hey? What's going on? Dude?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (16:32):
So, no names, but I got laid off last year
after being un in sales rep of the quarter on
my team, fired eleven days later on paternity leave.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
They fired you while.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
You were illegal. Illegal illegal. You can't fire me on
paternity leave.

Speaker 6 (16:52):
Yeah, it's not illegal. It's a sad it.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
It looks bad, but it's not illegal.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
How can you fire someone on maternity leave or paternity
same thing?

Speaker 6 (17:02):
Yeah, they did it, and uh yeah there was I'll
tell you that.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
And by the way, I'm not saying you have to
go on on the LinkedIn and talk about how they're
a garbage company and they fired you on maternity leave
and all that stuff. But you don't have to go
on there and thank them for the opportunity. You don't
know then that.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
No, what you do is you say silent, then you
go on glass door and anonymously.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
But the problem is nobody reads like everybody looks at
glass door the same way I look at like, yelp.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
All right, very good, thank you, sir anonymous. The yeah,
which is why nobody buys this.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
More or less. If the termination is for reasons unrelated
to the leave, you can fire or lay someone off
when they're on paternity or maternity.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
I want to see the company that fires somebody a
woman that's on maternity leave.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
It's not a great look, but I'm sure it's were done.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
That would look horrible.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
You're part of a mass layoff.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
You wait till they get back.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
It's not the same thing. But my stepdad tells the
story all the time on how they came up here
for my wedding and then went back Sunday down to
South Carolina and he got fired that Monday morning from
his job. And his boss said that he was scheduled
to do it on Thursday, but knew that your step

(18:29):
son was getting married.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
See but that's nice, So he I could talk myself
into like, oh great, So why do I rush back?
I could have stayed with family's true.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
No, there's never a good time to get fired. There's
never a good time.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
True words spoken.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Yeah, Oh but fired on maternity or paternity leave. Oh
I got a lawsuit.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Well, first you have to issue a message of gratitude.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Hey, you know what, I get to post.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
To the video bouncing my baby saying oh yeah, well
you won't see me back in the office.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Yeah, but you know, I got to thank them for
the platform that allows me to now spend more time
and really.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Proud of what we did. Hi, Elliet the morning. Yeah, Hi,
who's this.

Speaker 7 (19:22):
Hey, this is Doug and Richmond.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Hey, what's going on? Dude? Hey man, I.

Speaker 7 (19:26):
Got laid off last year about this time, after after
eighteen years. Eighteen years, and I didn't congratulate or thank
anybody on LinkedIn.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
No, no, and you move on and you find another job.

Speaker 7 (19:45):
Yeah. LinkedIn is fake af two.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Right, And but that's kind of the point of this
whole thing. Everybody can see through it. Nobody's happy they
got fired. Like, nobody is like, this is awesome, this
is great. I brought all that great stuff I did
with my team. I'm glad I don't have to do
that anymore. Now I get to go into the unknown
and maybe get with a bad team. Like nobody, nobody's

(20:09):
doing that. Everybody just sees through it. You're better off
right in your name.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Duty on this on the the at the building. Oh hey,
what are you doing now?

Speaker 6 (20:25):
I'm still unemployed.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Well, you know what, let's thank that company. It's been
a great year. Yo, what thank you company?

Speaker 2 (20:32):
That was awesome.

Speaker 7 (20:33):
Yeah, I mean it was a nice paid vacation until
the severance ran out.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Well that's the other one though. That's also the place
where they get you.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Hey, you have to you have to agree that you
won't say anything bad about us if you want the severance.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
Hey, at least that company is offering severn that's true.
That's true.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
I guess not everybody has to do that.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
But there's such a risk that you talk about. So
you're saying you you want to smear poopy on.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
The wall, write my name in it.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
But think about it from this perspective. The only people
who that may impress or get a thumbs up from
are like your former co workers, who if you, in
a time of need down the road looked or leaned
on them for a referral or even a higher they
may remember then go, well, I mean that was cool.

(21:21):
But he's crazy. So there's there's no positive when it's
all said and done. In the long term for looking
for that that moment of redemption.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Right, and that's why for the reference at your former job,
you give them a friend's name and phone number. That
way they call your friend. You're like, this is the
greatest employee we ever had.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
How was he on? What was his last project?

Speaker 1 (21:51):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Were we started? We haven't. We haven't gone public with
it yet, and that's confidential, counted the faders.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
I'm on an NBA line three.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Hi Elliott the morning.

Speaker 8 (22:10):
Hey, I had the best situation with my layoffs. A
few years ago. My company was reducing people, so it
was down between me and one other person. They decided
to keep her and they laid me off. I had

(22:31):
already planned to go on a cruise and take my
work laptop with me and work from the cruise, right,
so they laid me off. I got to go my
cruise and not work. I got severance, I got a
month of unemployment. The person they chose over me quit
because she couldn't handle the new management, and they called

(22:54):
me and hired me back.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
Did you go back?

Speaker 8 (22:58):
I did? I really liked the company.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Did you ask for a raise?

Speaker 8 (23:03):
I did not. I shouldn't, but I didn't see.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
That's that would be. That might be the only way
that I would go back is if.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
They called and they were like, hey, you know what,
we're the layoffs and we took a turn and everything, Well,
you know what, we're solvent again. We'd like to welcome
you back. I think I would ask for a raise.
How about a little something for the effort? Thank you, ma'am.
Trying to think like with Lindsay's friends that went back
to Discovery, did they put their hand out and say

(23:30):
how about a raise?

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Did not discuss that with them?

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Well, I'm not going back for a pay cut.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Now, pay cuts still more than I'm not making.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
But you've you've probably trashed them this way and that way.
They're not asking you back.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
I mean, I've never been asked to come back.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
You're the thief who's got his or her arms out
at the liquor store. You've knocked over so many bottles.
It's it's not worth the hassle to have you back
in the building.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
Mine eight Hi, Yellie in the morning, one two three four.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
I got fired after thirteen years and being with the company,
stuck down to hard time from the department manager and
they didn't want to do that. They wouldn't even drag
everything off. And I went ahead and got a doctor's
note or stress turned it in and they terminated me.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Hippah, Wait a minute, so you got.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
You got a doctor's note, You got a doctor's note
that you're going on stress leave.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
Yeah, and everybody on that.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
You know, they they didn't like it whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
I don't care if you like it or not. I
don't know. You're gonna fire me on chemo.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
Right, I'm sure you'd be fine if one of us
came forward.

Speaker 5 (25:03):
And no, no whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Ye, no, no, no, I'm glad you should win that.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
That's exactly what we said with the patterny maternity. If
the reasons are tied to the medical leave, then there's
an issue.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Now I know what Diane's going to say about how
I'd lose my mind if one of one of you
guys came to me with a stress leave. Yes, you
know that, So I would encourage you not to do that.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
Because it stresses him out. So keep your mouth shut.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
But I wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
But I know I can't fire you for that. But
is it going to stress you out when you walk
in here? When you come back and there's someone else
sitting there. Yeah, that's going to stress you out. Then
it's up to the company to let you go. I'd
lose my.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
Mind, Yes, you would stress leave.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Oh come on, Karen.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
Kris recording, I know part of yesterday show, didn't wait?

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Can I go? Can I go? Line one? Hi, Elliet
the morning?

Speaker 6 (26:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Hi, who's this?

Speaker 8 (26:10):
I warn?

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Yes?

Speaker 7 (26:13):
Good?

Speaker 5 (26:14):
Good?

Speaker 4 (26:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (26:14):
So I was laid off uhtric.

Speaker 6 (26:19):
I guess it was two years ago by mister Elon Musk.
So that was so fun.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Wait, so you got laid off while you were on
maternity leave?

Speaker 6 (26:29):
Yeah, from the uh the you know global news that
you probably saw.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Hey, did you so you were part? Yeah? You were
part of a mass layoff?

Speaker 1 (26:39):
Right?

Speaker 6 (26:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (26:41):
Yeah but even still you got to you got a dog?

Speaker 4 (26:44):
Hear that?

Speaker 2 (26:45):
Or you know what?

Speaker 4 (26:46):
You know?

Speaker 2 (26:46):
What you do? Did they pay you for the rest
of like did you get a payout?

Speaker 8 (26:51):
I did?

Speaker 6 (26:51):
Yeah? So I actually was able to spend like a
pretty long time with my daughter.

Speaker 8 (26:56):
So I think I made up.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
No, you didn't know. You didn't know. You didn't the
here's what here's what you do.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
Here's what you do, Diane, You're on maternity leave, right,
answer the phone. Hello, Hi, it's Elon. Hey listen, Uh,
you got a choice to make. Okay, we're we're there's
gonna be I know you're on maternity leave and I'm
sure it's going well.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
There's gonna be mass layoffs.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
Do you want to be laid off now or when
you get back from maternity leave You're gonna get paid
through maternity leave. Do you want to get laid off
now or do you want to come back for a
day and get laid.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Off then I'm getting paid either way? Yes, now, thank you?

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Look at that. Look how I made the employee happy.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Seems like that's all he does.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
The Yeah, but but but you see how I did that.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
I do think there is stead instead of your execution.
They could come back to haunt you.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Why I asked Tyr how she was doing?

Speaker 3 (27:56):
I know, but you don't want to bring up why
she's not in thee.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
I know why she's not in the office.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
We all do. We also knew it was a mistake
hiring a woman. But I let them choose that way.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
What is she going to do? Go on and go?

Speaker 1 (28:17):
If I don't call her, well, mass layoffs while I'm
on maternity leave.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
That looks bad. Versus you know what. Elliott was nice.
He called.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
He asked if I wanted to be laid off while
on maternity leave or the day I got.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
Back beauty, So everyone just wait until I get married.
