Speaker 1 (00:00):
You had what is it called explant surgery?
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Yes, uh huh.
Speaker 3 (00:04):
And for a couple of a couple of things. Number one,
how long how long did you have your implants?
Speaker 2 (00:11):
I had them for probably like five years, not that
long actually, And.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
If you don't mind my asking, why did you why
did you want them removed?
Speaker 2 (00:24):
So I don't know if you remember I called when
we were talking about the nicky bella wood stuck in
the rib thing. So I had my remove because I
got them after I had my first two kids, thinking
I was done, and then I had one more and
they ended up being like gigantic, like triple D. I
don't even know what goes after that. Maybe I was
(00:47):
feeling so like matronly.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
That I hated it, right, Okay, so but now I'm
trying to remember. I vaguely, vaguely remember talking to you.
I remember the Nicki Bella thing and it getting stuck
in the ribs.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Hey did they answer answer me this? When it? Did
you go to the same doctor that put them in.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
No different one.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
For any specific reason.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
I didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
I wasn't thrilled the person that put them in afterward,
so I just didn't feel like I wanted to give
them my business again.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Oh okay, that makes sense. So I was reading I
was reading something. Hey, hold tight one second for me,
Hold on one second for me. So I was reading
this thing. The number of people women that are getting
explants is really really growing in a big way. And
I don't know why. I don't know why. I guess
(01:48):
it's a it's a whole myriad of things.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
The reason that I thought it would be was for
medical reasons, and it's not.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
It's cosmetic. Okay, So that surprised me. Number two.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
The other thing that really surprised me is a lot
of women would go back to the doctor who who Yeah,
who put him in, And that's the same doctor tries
to talk them out of it, really yeah, and will
either go, well how about just go smaller or no, no,
(02:25):
there's a bad idea, don't do it.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
So but they don't deny.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Oh in some cases they do. Yeah, they'll say you
go elsewhere.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Oh God, like I'm all about up up up, not
down down down?
Speaker 5 (02:42):
What a chant?
Speaker 3 (02:44):
So yeah, in some cases they have to leave, and
and then there's like then there's like all different kinds
of things, like sometimes you have to get a like
a lift or I don't know, but like it's like
it comes out, like the implant comes out, and that
like there may be some scar tissue. Sometimes it's just
as easy as just you know, and they're out, but
(03:05):
sometimes there's like a whole lift involved.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
They said, it's more expensive than you think it is.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
It's more expensive to get the xplant than the implant.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
I don't know that, but it's more expensive than you
would anticipate it being in terms of.
Speaker 6 (03:17):
Just yeah, because in your mind it's like, well they're
just removing something.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
So the first caller, though, she made it seem just
in the follow up visits and maybe the interaction she
had post surgery, that's what led her to another doctor.
It wasn't a case where she felt like her surgeon
wasn't going No, it.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Just sounds like she didn't like the guy man. But yeah,
do it.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Yeah, no, they said, a number of patients complained, I
went back to my original surgeon.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
He refused to do the ex plant. Others were appalled.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
When the doctor argued that either a she should change
your mind about a full explant, it just switched to
smaller ones instead to make sure.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
So is the worry there. Now, you didn't say anything,
but I noticed your thumbs are up.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I'm in the up up business, right, Ay, pimple popper
doesn't go add Liepomas.
Speaker 5 (04:22):
To your leg A little different obviously. Word of mouth
is massive when it comes to cosmic surgery. Right, and
like Google reviews, are they worried if they see if
a potential implant. A person sees those people talking about
xplants on the Google reviews, they're going to put their
(04:45):
hand up and ask why why are people having them removed?
I'm thinking about having them augmented.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
No, but a lot of people want smaller breasts.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Oh but that's not an ex plant, that's just a
that's just a smaller like Diane, sorry the like, but
I didn't have implants. No, but that that was a reduction.
That was a reduction. But that's different than an explain
It is a big difference, big difference.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
So is it really just for marketing purposes? They're not
being complete jerks about it, because.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
So they're actually they're actually being a business.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
Of their work. They just just don't want to be
associated with that procedure.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
So then why not just have a DNA and just
say you can you can get I'll take them out,
but you can't tell anybody. Well, I mean, I'm gonna notice,
but you can't tell anybody that I did it.
Speaker 5 (05:32):
So do you mean an NDA?
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Oh? Yeah, an NDA? You know what I meant where
I don't want your reviews.
Speaker 5 (05:41):
I would not feel comfortable signing an NDA with my
personal doctor.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Now I would, No way, I don't want my doctor
toller talking about me.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
Hippop if something goes wrong, but you had an NDA, yeah,
but you can't say yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
No, you could still sue. Where am I going? Line five? Hi,
elliot the morning?
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Hey, Yes, ma'am. Hi, who's this are you telling me?
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yeah? Why wouldn't you?
Speaker 7 (06:06):
Hey?
Speaker 4 (06:07):
I am calling actually from Charlotte, North Carolina.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
And yes, you you have implants?
Speaker 5 (06:13):
I have.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
I just actually had an explant surgery about a year ago.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
How big were like when you got the implants? How
what did you get up to?
Speaker 4 (06:22):
I went up to like a thirty four D Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Baby, and the uh that sounded creepy even to me.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
That sounded creepy. Yeah, why did you? Why did you
go down? Down down?
Speaker 5 (06:34):
So?
Speaker 4 (06:34):
I actually had mine for fifteen years. I I know,
I know mine were starting I was starting to have
some health issues like hormone imbalances, gut issues. So I
got mine removed, but I went to a different doctor.
I flew to Austin, Texas to get mine removed. A
(06:55):
lot of surgeons won't take the So when you get
the implants put in, your body builds a scar tissue
capsule around the implant, right, and a lot of doctors
won't take that capsule out.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
Why won't they take it out? Because I did read
and what you're saying is very true. That there they said, like,
there's different types and one is just the simple extraction,
one is where you have to get the scar tissue removed,
and another one may require a whole a whole uh,
a whole boob lift.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Yeah, and you can do the lift for sure afterwards
my surgeon. That was optional if you want to do
lift or not. But I picked my surgeon based on
who would take the full capsule of the scar tissue
capsule out.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
And the closest doctor to Charlotte, North Carolina was Austin, Texas.
Speaker 8 (07:44):
Well.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
The the surgeon in Austin is one of the top
explant surgeons in a country. He actually all he does
is explants really.
Speaker 6 (07:55):
Yeah, what do he keeps saying, T Because I'm up up.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Up, not down down down the no, because I was
one of the women I was reading about, like you
said the like like she was like it just I
wanted them when I was younger, and I got them bigger,
but now they've become a little cumbersome and it's not
what I want anymore.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
So I was like, all right, sweet, let's get them
out of there.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Yeah, yeah, that's pretty much. And honestly, like they were
fun in my twenties, but now I am happier without them, right, Okay,
I do think it's I do think it's good to
get a lift afterwards. That's where you're gonna be happiest
is explant and lift.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Right.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
But then my surgeon also he tests the implants for biofilms,
like basically bacteria strains, right, and he finds that a
lot of the implants have biofilms on them.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Interesting.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Interesting, All right, very good, very good, Thank you, ma'am,
thank you, yeah, thank you.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
The start way to ask a dumb question, you know
what biofilm?
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Oh yeah, Diane, I'm sorry, I didn't see your note
asking what is a biofilm?
Speaker 9 (09:05):
I'm assuming it's some sort of bacteria or like an
unpleasant chemical that's going to react poorly with your body and.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
It builds a film on the implant.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
Community is a bacteria?
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Yeah, there you go, and it's on the implant like
a film.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
You often see it with Oh I know why Diane
knows about it. You see it on dental implants, orthopedic implants, eh,
and sometimes catheters.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Ah, dude, what's that slime on your catheter?
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Oh? That's my biofilm.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
So how about that someone who specializes an X plant? Yea,
I wasn't picturing that office or thinking about an office
like that.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Why don't we do that here?
Speaker 5 (09:50):
Because you're up up up right?
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Well, yeah, but this guy's got it. This guy's got
the he's got the titty corner market. You got your
tape already? Hi, elliot the morning, Good morning.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
Hi.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Who's this?
Speaker 8 (10:08):
My name's Stubby.
Speaker 5 (10:09):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (10:09):
What can I do for you?
Speaker 8 (10:11):
What can I do for I have had mine for
twenty one years.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
You've had your implants for twenty one years?
Speaker 8 (10:19):
Yes, and now I want to get rid of them.
I want to go down. They're just too big for
the fashions. They've gotten droopy because of the way boom.
So now I want to go down some and.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Are you did you go back to your original doctor
and ask him to do it?
Speaker 8 (10:37):
No, I have none. I'm thinking maybe of researching. They
won in Texas in Austin.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yeah, I don't know what it's called. Yes, I don't
know what it's I should have asked her.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Yeah, hey, what is the the is your is the
is the doctor who did your implants?
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Are they still in business?
Speaker 7 (10:59):
You know?
Speaker 8 (11:00):
I don't know. It's twenty one years, so maybe not.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
I don't Yeah, no, I don't know either. I mean,
that's a long time. That's a long time. But I wonder, like,
to me, it's just really a thank you, ma'am. It's
just really weird that they would just say no.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Or tell you no, no, no, no, no, no, don't go
don't take them out, just go a little smaller.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
What don't you at some point have to even if
you're keeping the implant, isn't there a point in time
where you have to replace them?
Speaker 6 (11:26):
I thought you get like fifteen years out of them.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
I don't know why that.
Speaker 6 (11:29):
Yes, I don't know why that.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
Yeah, twenty one years?
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Yeah, Oh, I never knew you had to get them report.
Speaker 9 (11:34):
They just had a safety Is it just because I
have all that bio? I think they just tell you
it's a good idea of something biodegrades.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Right, That's how I clean off your biofilm. Line four. Hi,
Elliet the morning, Good morning.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Hi.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Who's this?
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Hi?
Speaker 4 (11:57):
It's Lauren.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Yeah, Lauren, you have implants?
Speaker 10 (12:00):
No, I got mine taken out. I had him for
sixteen years. I got him taken about about like almost
four years ago. An awesome surgeon in Baltimore who does
explant does the whole.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
It's called on.
Speaker 10 (12:16):
Block, so they do it with you know, they remove
the capsule, everything as a whole. He's very knowledgeable, sends
everything away. Yeah, So that was a that was a
fun ride figuring out, Uh, blessed that you have breast
implant illness?
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Hey did you so? Is that why you got it done?
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Was was because that, like there medically you needed to.
Speaker 10 (12:38):
You know, I had so many things want going wrong
with me that you know, I was getting all this
blood work done and things and everything was coming out
quote unquote normal and I the last straw for me
was I got blood work done and came back and
my doctor said I had markers for lupus like you did.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
And he was like, you have no.
Speaker 10 (13:04):
Other signs that you have. This doesn't make sense. I
went out to my car. I was researching, researching, and
this breast implant illness kept popping up, and I had
like every symptom. It all made sense for me. And
I went back in actually and was like, hey, could
this be possible? And he said, you know what, We're
starting to see a lot of this. I wouldn't be surprised.
(13:25):
And then literally I just jumped on insurance didn't cover it,
went and found a doctor, got him removed, and three
weeks after that, the FDA put a black box warning
label on all breast implants. And I'm like, you know,
insurance really should cover the removal when people are getting
this sick.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Hey, So let me ask you a couple of things.
The doctor did the removal, it's not the same one
who did the implant, right.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
No.
Speaker 10 (13:52):
I went back to him and he laughed off breast
implant illness and was like, you know, I mean this
is his bread and butter are implants. So he's like, oh,
that's just a sad and blah blah blah, and you know,
and just I said, yeah, but here's all the data,
like it is. It's a thing, you know, like people.
There are certain people that carry it, have certain genes
(14:13):
that cannot detox the way that.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
Other people can.
Speaker 10 (14:16):
So some people are okay with implants. Their body you know,
adjusts and whatever. Other people cannot.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Well, that's on you. The that's me, is the doctor speaking.
Speaker 6 (14:25):
Yeah, that's Oh, it's a fact.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
That's on you. That's on you. Hey, what is what
is the is it? Well you may know the answer
to this because you had him for a while. Do
you Are you supposed to get him replaced every so often? Yes?
Speaker 10 (14:40):
So they say every ten years. I don't know that
many people that had to replace them every ten years,
but you know, I mean I had him for sixteen.
They were going strong, nothing wrong with them, But I
can tell you I was so much happier when I
got them out.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
Like I can't tell you, But.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
What about that, like physically, like appearance wise? Do you
miss them? Do you miss them?
Speaker 10 (15:07):
No? I never I thought, man, I was gonna be depressed,
and I thought I was going to like really really
miss them, And I don't, I really really don't. I
mean I went from a double D to you know,
like a little b and I'm so much where they go,
they go, well, so you you get these huge implants in,
(15:35):
you know, and then like when they take them out,
they're kind of like deflated balloon or they would be right,
so they have to do a lift and go down
to like your normal breast tissue. And I was always
I'm a small girl. I mean I'm five three hundred
and seventeen pounds, you know, so they supposed to have yeah, right,
(15:56):
So anyway, I love them.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
It's great.
Speaker 10 (15:57):
My husband loves I mean, I I think if you
have them and there's stuff going, I have so many
friends that have had them removed now that are so happy.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
So did you have to go like you had to
go buy like new bras and everything.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah for sure.
Speaker 10 (16:14):
And really I didn't need brals anymore, honestly, because when
you do. I did a lift too, and they were
like they were yeah, they were like you know how
they were when you were sixteen, seventeen eighteen, you know,
like they were.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Awesome on right on. I five. All right, very good,
very good, very educational, very educational. Thank you, thank you.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
That call was a roller coaster for you. Yeah, there
were some highs. You engine on a high?
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Would that be normal? Though?
Speaker 3 (16:42):
What which part the if you take them out and
you get the lift, then you don't have to.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
Wear bra.
Speaker 6 (16:47):
I mean you don't. You never have to.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Amen. I'm not telling anybody that they got to.
Speaker 9 (16:53):
But they're gonna, I mean for support, they're going to.
I would say, look better, but you don't have to. No, no,
but sagging down to your waist.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
I told Diane for all these on our first interview.
I don't. I don't care if you wear a bra
on here or not. Okay, no, I don't. That's up
to that's up to each one.
Speaker 5 (17:09):
And she also says she was a bee. You can
have a lift that's still a C or a dyeah, so.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
You may see you not get a lift at a B.
Speaker 6 (17:17):
No she did, she had she from a double D
back to a bee.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
No, but that's like and I mean this with no offense,
ma'm if you're still listening, But it's like all the it's.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
All the ozepic people that are like what do I
do with this apron? Like they get it removed.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
So if you had if you had a double D,
your skin still stretched out.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
I understand the implants. God, so you would get a lift.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
But if I was just a regular, I didn't get
any kind of cosmetic done to my breasts, and I
was a B cup, I would never go in and
get a lift as a bee after breastfeeding.
Speaker 6 (17:47):
You absolutely could.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
No, I told you I didn't do any of that.
I just have a bee.
Speaker 6 (17:51):
You said there's nothing cosmetic about breastfeeding.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
No, I'm just saying in general, so like you can
still get a lift at a.
Speaker 5 (17:57):
B News slash.
Speaker 6 (17:58):
Gravity is a bitch the.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
I know, but that's for bigger not always.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
Do you feel attacked Elliott.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
A little bit? Yeah, like nobody's understanding me.
Speaker 7 (18:07):
You're attacked the so what, I'm not attacking you if
any time I told you don't have to wear a bra,
I couldn't be more supportive of the.
Speaker 5 (18:17):
The for Halloween custard always a good one
