Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi. This is a stolar shilt from the Pinball News story.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Oh dude, how was well? First of all, it's very
nice to very nice to meet you.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
How was the you you were taking part?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Sorry I cut you off their stoller, but you were
you were taking part in the state championships over the weekend.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Yeah, me and my dad were participating in the Virginia
state finals for pinball.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Right, And how did you? I know that your higher
rank than your dad. So let me start with your dad.
How did how did he fare?

Speaker 1 (00:40):
He actually got dead last and the uh they got
last seed and last last place.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Right, because he went in as like the twenty fourth
seed out of twenty four and he held true to form.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
He did not, he did not, he did not farewell. Yeah,
how did well?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
So the good news is even no matter how you did,
you did better than your dad.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
How did how did you do?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Well, I made it all the way to game seven
in the first round and then lost and I got
ended up getting nineteenth and yeah, so I lost to
a last year's state champion.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Dude. That's awesome though. Good for you.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Hey, so we when we were talking about the h
the championships taking place, over the over the weekend, we
learned a couple of things, like, was was the the
state championships?

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Was that at somebody's house?

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Yes, it was at a guy named Kevin Stone's house
up in Vienna, Virginia, I.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Believe, right right?

Speaker 2 (01:52):
And the what like when when you said that you
you you went seven games?

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Like what what pinball machine were you playing?

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Well?

Speaker 1 (02:01):
It was seven different pinball machines. It was like we
played a Star Trek one, a Jurassic Park one, and
some other like like eighties and nineties ones as well.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Oh, so you have to cipher through a bunch of
them so it's not always the same one and you
would know what to do. Oh, that's interesting, that's interesting. Hey,
how often how often do you play?

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Very often? We have pinball machines at our house. We
have some like at the Pinball Collective that we filmed
the interview, and we basically do tournaments almost every week
so that we can get a high seed for the States.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
And yeah, now, what is the what is what is
the next Hey, why don't you tell number twenty four
to hush down back there? What is the what is
the next tournament that you'll like, the next big one
that you'll take part in.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Well, next during spring break, we will have a tournament
that's going to have like one hundred and fifty people
in Ohio.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Oh wow.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
It won't really do anything to Virginia rankings, but it
will hopefully give a lot of points to my world ranking.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Where do you know what your world ranking is?

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Yes, I believe that it's one eight hundred and sixty.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Dude.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
That is freaking awesome out of everybody in the world.
That's great. Yeah, thank you absolutely. Hey, So here's what
I would like to do for when you go to
when you go to Ohio for spring break.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Two things.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Number one, I want you to keep me up to
date as you get ready to go, and then obviously
I want to know how you did. But number two,
I don't know if there's uniforms or something you have
to wear, but I'd love to send you a couple
of Ellie at the Morning shirts.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Uh yeah, I would love to wear those for the tournament.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
That would be great, that'd be awesome. I will let
you decide whether the other guy gets one. All right,
all right, very good.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
So they decided to do this, they decide to do
streaming there, then you might be able to see the
the shirt.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
I'll definitely watch. I will definitely watch Stoler. Hold tight
one second, let me get some info from you. But dude, congratulations,
that's awesome. I'm happy for you.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Hey, you got it. Hold tight one second, buddy, hold
on one second. How awesome is that? I like the
follow up? Yeah, what's Dale's world ranking? He's got to
be in the two thousands. He's also in the eighteen hundreds.
Oh is he really?

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Oh so he's hanging on to his kid, but not
by much, not by much. That's awesome. And now I
have to go to line four.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
I can do that. Hi, Elliot in the morning.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Yeah, Hey there, it's Lisa over at TSA and I
just want to touch base that you were talking about
the number of firearms TSA officers have intercepted in twenty
twenty four and I wanted to share some interesting information
about that.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
If that's okay, Well, let me hit pause one second.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
So, Lisa, I saw you on the news over the
weekend or I guess maybe late last week talking about
the records that we set. You're obviously the head of TSA,
well the spokesperson head of TSA, but we said, you
know what, I didn't realize.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Why is it landa so bad dude.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
So indeed, Atlanta is one of the busiest airports in
the country, and they have some pretty liberal weapons laws.
And that's why a lot of this with the firearms
in different parts of the country is cultural, and different
parts of the country it's more understanding and acceptable to
be carrying guns at all times. In other areas of
the country, the weapons laws are stricter. And that's all

(05:53):
that that's about.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
And does everybody say the same thing of oh, you
know what, Because I feel like when Diane reports on
the chase for the Rack that she'll say, like, you know,
so and so was going through security and was like,
oh I packed it.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
I forgot I had it in my bag.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
I would say the number one excuse that we hear, indeed,
is oh I forgot that I had a gun in
my bag. Now, of the six thousand, six hundred and
seventy eight guns caught nationwide at airport security checkpoints, ninety
four percent were loaded. So these people are telling us, oh,
I forgot I hell I loaded gun with me. You know,

(06:28):
responsible gun owners know where their gun is at all times,
and they know they can't bring it through a checkpoint.
The second most common excuse me here, get a load
of this. My husband packed my bag for me. My
wife's packed my bag for me. Okay, I guess there's
a spouse that's having some marital issues.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
I love the snark.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
I was gonna say, I don't know that Jackie has
ever packed a bag for me.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
Oh good, so you're you're a real man.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
I like that, Thank you.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
And I just forgot I had it in my bag.
Yeah no, I forgot. Hey, what is the is it?

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Like?

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Do you do? People get in real trouble for it?

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Oh? Yeah. So the penalties are pretty pretty stiff. So,
first of all, when the TSA officer detects a firearm
in a carry on bag, the conveyor belt is stopped
and so nobody else can get through for a little bit.
We call the police. The police come over. We have
the police remove the carry on back from the extreme
machine because we don't want our TSA officers to handle

(07:31):
firearms and acts waiting to happen. Right, so, you can
get arrested by the police, You can be criminally cited
by the police. TSA is highly likely to issue a
federal civil financial penalty which can run into the thousands
of dollars. If you're in the TSA PreCheck program, you
get brooded right out of that. It's a trusted traveler program.

(07:53):
Now you're showing up with the firearm, I guess we
can't trust you anymore. Yeah, And so the penalties are
are pretty pretty heavy. And of course if you're arrested,
you're gonna have to hire a lawyer. Well, that's come
to Crust one thousands of bucks. So it's an expensive,
expensive mistake.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
To make, but it is. But like people can travel
with guns.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
Right, If you want to transport your firearm for a
flight to your destination, that's okay, A okay. All you
have to do is pack it properly, so A make
sure it's unloaded. B pack it in a locked, hard
sided case, and then you just take it to your
airline check and counter. They'll make sure it flies in
the ability of the plane where nobody has access to

(08:36):
it during the flight. That's the key. Nobody should have
access to the gun during the flight. So if it's
in the ability of the plane, when you get to
your destination, it'll be there on the carousel with all
the other, uh, all the other check baggage.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Hey, one last thing while I while I got you
on the phone, if if you don't mind, Lisa, what.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Is the like? When does when does real ID start
for flying?

Speaker 4 (08:59):
So the ID program kicks in on May seventh, so
you've got, you know, give or take about one hundred
days left. You want to make sure that if you
are playing to fly in May, that you definitely have
a real ID compliant license or another acceptable form of ID.
If you don't have a real ID license, a passport

(09:21):
is okay, and other acceptable IDs are listed on the
TSA website at TSA dot gov.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
My license expires February seventeenth, Hew your birthday. Yeah, so
I gotta get I gotta get on that, Lisa. I'll
be checking in with you later. I'll be checking in
with you later. All right, very good, Thank you, Lisa,
Thank you man.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
Al righty bye bye
