Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, Ellie had the morning. Hi is this me? Yeah? Hi?
Who's this? Hi? This is Megan, Yes, Megan. And so
I worked in just about fifteen years ago in a
sales office where we had like door knockers, basically sales
guys that would go out and girls and knockdoors to
(00:20):
like generate leads. And then we had the office side
of the business where it was mainly women, but there
was we had an office manager. I won't say his name,
but he continually walked the line with like inappropriate not inappropriate,
Like he thought it was really funny one day to
(00:43):
pull out this pair of like old lady really really
large silk underwear, and every time any woman would say so,
or anybody be like, hey, such and such almost said
his name, he'd be like, don't get your panties in
a wall and pull them out. But that's that's good
(01:04):
office light. That keeps the office light. It keeps the
office in an interesting place when you have a wide
dynamic of mainly females. But he also would bring his
really awful nasty children in the office and kind of
like let them run around from time to time. And
he called his youngest one dB, and it was a word,
(01:28):
and then baby another word for male genitalia, and baby
called him D Baby, And one time he came in
and he had wait a minute, so he would introduces
kids as his youngest child. Yes, he was like, he
was just the guy that just buy you're talking about
penis penis, Yes, yes, I don't know if I can
say that. I don't know. I don't know if okay,
(01:54):
but he would like D Baby, who he referred to
him to, looked fairal and he came in with this
jar of like quarters and we were like, what are
you doing? And she basically wiped out the entire vending
machine and then just like played with it and then
just left it. And then Bryson's like, oh shoot, sorry,
(02:17):
He's like one of you ladies is gonna have to
get in there and clean it up. The baby's on
the loose. So that was where we basically lived with him.
But in an emergency situation, she's awful, Like we had
a lady there that I don't know. She had like seizures.
They weren't they were mild, but they were seizures like
once a week, and she would start yelling for us
(02:38):
to get the rollie chair. Every time she got He's like,
get the rolli chair, get the rollie chair, and we'd
have to like wheel her out to the ambulance every
time in her wheely chair, as Bryson is like you
when you get back. And that was just the dynamic
of the office. I mean, it was funny. And I
saw him recently and he's the same, but he's kind
(02:59):
of toned down a little bit. But he was off
the chain. It kept it, it kept it wild, but
it also kept it like slightly inappropriate. Sure. Sure, by
the way, you're worse than I am. You you said
every name again. It's the damn autism. It just makes
them well fall out. I don't know. Oh, get the
(03:22):
wheeling chair, get the wheellychair. Have it. Another one was
just like ridiculous. Did I ask this with that? Would that?
But is that? Is? That? Is he ever disciplined for what?
Here's the but he was like bring he didn't he
So if he got disciplined, we didn't hear about it.
(03:42):
But he liked to do. He'd like to discipline. I
think we I think we were in you know, I
need to see in my office and then spend half
the time like you want some candy, How do you
like about? What do you like about? Did you see
that baseball game? No? No, we didn't see the baseball game.
And he's like, all right, so probably can't say things
like that anymore. And then he would say a joke
with the thing that we weren't to say in it,
(04:04):
like a there's a good laugh. I'll get out there
and do your job. I have a good day. He
played baseball in college, so he that was how he
spoke to us, like it was a league of their
own every time he walked in the office. All right, ladies,
love love, We're gonna have a good day to day,
all right, ladies. You know. So was she ever called
in there for something? Did you ever get Did you
(04:26):
ever get called in for for your mouth? Absolutely? I
was not a I mean, I don't want to say
I was a poor employee, but my mouth got me
in trouble more often than not. So yeah, no, I
got called in a lot. But I think it endeared
me to him because he knew that I was he
wasn't going to be able to get away with stuff,
(04:47):
and I was going to say something and that you know,
it was nice. But no, no, I was not like
a stellar employee by any means, but you got a lot. Yes. Well,
but here's the catch though, I was the owner's executive assistant,
so he really couldn't like he could say something, but
he really like I reported to his boss, right, So yeah,
(05:09):
so he would. But but it endeared him most definitely
inappropriate like in this day and age, and this is
before then Me Too movement and things like that, So
it was a little bit more. I don't want to
say it was acceptable, but people had a tendency out
of politeness to just let it go. I didn't. I
did it, but I understood the joke. I understood that
(05:32):
where he was coming from, it was like not a
place of like hatred. He was just ignorant. So okay
with that a little bit. By the way, yeah, by
the way, thank you, ma'am, thank you, thank you, and
thanks for protecting all those names.
