Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Doing a dog Yeah, that's right, the dose. Yeah, we've
got to Elon and Vivek taken to the Wall Street
Journal editorial page. Great piece, great piece, basically breaking down
what they're planning on doing across the board when it
comes to regulations, when it comes to spending, how they're

(00:41):
planning on doing, and how transparent is going to be.
And again, well this again, I puts a smile on
my face because the things that they've talked about throughout
this entire things the same themes that we've hit on
this program, this radio show podcast for years. From government

(01:02):
agencies becoming judge, jury, and executioner all within the executive
branch of government. They're pointing that out to They actually
point out the fact that the president's going to be
attacked saying it's executive overreach. No, what's executive overreach is
all of these acronym agencies creating all of their own

(01:23):
rules and laws. It was funny. There was a Saturday
Night Live skit, Saturday Live Skit, this is back when
Obama was president, and they made fun of Obama for
executive overreach and what he was doing. They actually had
Obama push Bill. Remember from Schoolhouse Rock from the nineteen seventies,

(01:47):
I'm just a bill, just ad an ordinary bill sitting
here on Capitol Hill. I can never forget those things,
but anyway they had. They did a recreation of Schoolhouse
Rock and Bill and Obama pushing Bill down to appital
steps doing whatever the hell he wants to do. Also
points out how the president's going to be able to
lay off our humble civil servants. Can't wait. They handled

(02:12):
it with kid gloves and the peace. But I go
a little bit further, and they also talked about all
of the government spending that's not even approved by Congress,
everything from PBS to various different non governmental groups like
Panned Parenthood on through not to mention the waste and
fraud that's in Medicare and Medicaid, hitting all of the

(02:33):
points that we'd like to hit on. I want to
explain this to everyone again. I've done this before, all
power in Washington, DC, and this is why they're playing
a very very dangerous game. The bureaucracy is a scary thing.
And the type of power that they have power politicians.

(02:56):
They have power because of the tax code, because of
the regular toy code. Think of the tax code and
the regulatory code, kind of like the yellow Sun for Superman.
That's where these people get their power from. That's how
they become very very wealthy. Now you take that away,
they're going to fight back. You know, they give a

(03:17):
carve out, they give a giveaway, they write a ruler
or law that protects a business, whatever it may be.
These politicians are getting paid for this. Okay, this is
this is how they make money. This is how it works.
You want to know how they get rich. That's how
they got rich. By peddling favors, by using the federal registry,

(03:38):
by using the tax code. It's not supposed to be
this way, but it is. And you know, God's been
God willing they can get these things done. You're talking,
sky's a limit for this country if we can get
rid of our bureaucracy. Watchtogomall Street dot com

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
