Speaker 2 (00:16):
The United States of America, Now, how about the United
States of Less Bad? I got a bunch of responses
emails from my podcasts. I'm always we've become, unfortunately, we
become a tribal country where you plunge your allegiance to
a political party or to a certain candidate, and you

(00:36):
put these horse winders on, Oh my candidate, my person
is awesome. They can do no wrong. They can do
no and then you're doing it wrong. As a citizen,
they work for you, and you're supposed to be highly
critical of the mot That's just the way it's supposed
to think. But anyway, the United States of Less Bad, Listen,

(00:59):
I get it. I understand that politics are going to
there's gonna be some compromise that needs to be had.
I get that, But certain things to me and life
are just non negotiable. Uh, certain things you have to have.
This past weekend on my radio show, I talked about

(01:20):
I spent some time talking about boundaries when it came
to invest in and how you have to set certain boundaries.
And you know you you all buy buying. You don't
second guess your boundaries or your rules if you want
to be successful. Again, you know we have you know, religion,

(01:42):
certain rules, certain boundaries that again, there's no negotiating now
when it comes to when it comes to basically bending
and letting criminals off and writing pardons and doing all
of these things. Oh, it's okay, it's where we need

(02:03):
the money for our political party. No, you can't do that.
This is where we become the United States of Less Bad,
where we're deciding between two candidates and our choices between
one that is less bad. I'm guaranteed to catch some

(02:23):
platform this. Oh look at all the great stuff. The
trunk is going on the board. Listen. I give credit
where credit is due. I give credit. Okay, but that
doesn't allow you to excuse poor policy and stupid decisions.
And if you care about this country, you want what's
best for this country, you want what's best for your kids,

(02:45):
for your grandkids, You've got to call out your vibe too,
because if you're not able to do that well, you're
not a serious thing. Watch dog of Wall street dot

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
