Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it will have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
So Trump signed an AI executive order for a single
national standard for artificial intelligence. Now I went through the order.
It's unfortunate most of the media outlets did not from
what I from what I garnered from this, it's not
(00:40):
going to this is what I'm taking right now. It
will not infringe on states rights when it comes to
the building of data centers and water and electricity and
some of the things that certain states should be allowed
to push back on. And again, I very much I'm
(01:01):
very much a Republican, not as in a Republican party.
We're republic and we have fifty states, and we have
a tenth Amendment to the Constitution, and we're supposed to
protect states rights with that being said commerce Clause. I
get that, And again it's how we fumble with certain
(01:22):
areas of our economy. This really doesn't make much sense.
And I think I've mentioned this before here on the program,
and it boggles the mind quite frankly, the fact that
we all drive around in cars, most of them are
combustion engine. Now, if God forbid, there is some sort
of issue with a refinery in again, I'll throw it
(01:48):
the state of New Jersey and the State of New
Jersey because they have an issue with their refinery. They
don't have enough gasoline. They can't buy gasoline from the
State of New York because the blend is different. You
got all these different states with all these different blends,
and if you got to have the winter blend, you
(02:08):
got to have the summer blende. They got to They
gotta change these things all the time. And I said
this years ago. I said, I don't care. I just
just make I don't care if you make it the
most you know, hippie blend out there al Gore approved.
Just make some sort of standard that we all have
to deal with in the same sense. And I think
the best way that I can explain this to people
(02:30):
is your outlet. You're outlet. You know we have you
go to you know Alaska, it's the same plug on
the walls it is in Florida's it is in Hawaii. Yeah, okay,
makes sense, right. If every appliance company whatever it may be.
How to make a different plug based upon which state?
(02:54):
How much more expensive would your appliances be. It's funny
they the European Union actually cracked down on Apple because
we got to have our own plugs because we want
to sell them, and they got to make them different.
Nobody else said no, we got to have a standard here. Okay,
everybody has these devices for crying out loud. It's gotten insane.
And again it makes sense and again drives prices down
(03:16):
for everybody anyway, neither here nor there. This has in
my opinion, from the look of it, it has more
to do with the state saying, oh see, you know,
you got to make sure that nobody's defending anybody, and
you know that type of nonsense. Again, pick up your constitution,
(03:38):
free speech across the board. That again, however, states should
also have the right. And again I wish we had
a national standard. Okay, when it comes to protecting kids,
I am not a fan. I'm not a fan of
the image generation, the deep fakes, all of that. I
(04:00):
got to figure out where that is going to land.
That is very, very dangerous stuff. And when they first
started that ten years ago, I'm like, this is this
is going to end poorly. Again. They're going to say, well,
we're not responsible for you know, this type allowing this
type of content. Well, I mean, you know, if your
(04:24):
content is being you if your AI is being used
to create fake porn of some middle school kid and
make them look horrible. Sorry, sorry, you know, I think
there needs to be some sort of protection involve there.
(04:47):
We're going to see where this lands. But again I
am always going to side, always going to side. This
is the infancy here. I'm going to always side with
states' rights. It's just that simple. I don't want I
don't want oil wells going off the beaches down here
in Florida so I can see them, just as much
I don't want windmills in my line of site either.
(05:10):
It's just that simple. I don't want AI data centers
driving the cost up of electricity for all of the
citizens around here and misusing the water, just as much
as I don't like a wind Developers go nuts and
pave paradise and put up a parking lot. Okay, stage
should have rights. So far, I don't think it infringes
(05:30):
on that, but we shall see. What I do know
is these tech companies they're all in. They've they've got
offices in Washington, d C. They've got big time lobbyists,
and they're spending big money on our politicians. Watchdog on
