Speaker 1 (00:22):
You know a lot of people are aware, but the
paid family leave they go kicks in in January. I
was informed by our HR department that they can people
can actually claim that retroactively. They can claim it for
this year even though it doesn't go into effect until
January of next year. Talk about it, talk about a scam.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Actually found the funniest thing about the paid Family article
leave in that COVID isn't one of.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
The qualifying conditions, even.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
Long form and doesn't know.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
Kind of funny how.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Considering the super country now for four years.
Speaker 6 (00:59):
My husband and I I own a small business, a
small restaurant, an esst or. Even the paid sick time
that gives you twelve weeks, there's no exemption for us.
We normally employ teenagers. We still have to pay that
extra tax. It's enough to drive somebody out of a business.
Speaker 7 (01:21):
It's going to drive people out of business. You're absolutely right.

Twin Cities News talk number one on your. Presets minnesota
officials say they're prepared for paid leave Rollout january, first
(01:54):
even though it's going to be a. Disaster and, AGAIN
i will continue my in depth average of this only
SO i can tragically, say along with the OTHER gop
members of the, legislature told you. So the checks and,
balances they, say include multiple identity checks on people applying for,
(02:15):
leave verification requirements from medical providers attesting to someone's need for,
care and random. Auditing to apply for, leave though through
the state online, portal someone will need to upload a
photo of their driver's license and even take a selfie
to verify the. Identity, wow almost sounds like. Fun if
(02:39):
you use the paid leave, application you will see that
it is very structured information, gathering Said Evan, row deputy
commissioner WITH. Deed The Paid family program will run through
the existing unemployment insurance. System in many, ways it's similar
to the unemployment insurance application that is by. Design republicans
(03:01):
are still raising questions about the verification. Process concerns included
how the state will handle requests for intermittent, leave meaning
leave taken at different, times not. Consecutively hadn't even thought about,
that but they're absolutely. Right plus situations where multiple caregivers
are approved to provide care for some person or. Relative
(03:24):
is just the fact that my employer is forced to
take money from me to pay me less so THAT
i can fund someone else's time.
Speaker 8 (03:38):
Off it's.
Speaker 7 (03:38):
Infuriating jonathan Eichin MINNESOTA It services during The Fraud committee
hearing this week about the upcoming Paid Family Medical leave,
program says The walls administration said they couldn't possibly prevent
fraud unless they terminated the program or they paid staff
and amount equal to the benefits.
Speaker 9 (03:59):
Distributed want to SURE i understand the scenario describing and
also just sort of play out for a moment If
i'm understanding correctly what that might look. LIKE i Think
i'm envisioning a group of people who coordinate with each
other to set up That florida. Vacation that would require
(04:20):
that all of them who are going to list themselves
as caregivers would come to the paid leave. Site they
would take a picture of the they will be forced
to take a picture of their face with their. Phone
they'll be forced to take a picture of their driver's.
License they'll know that they will be essentially a testing
to a condition that isn't. True they will be engaged
(04:41):
in a conspiracy in order to get half of their
usual salary for a short period of. Time they will
be putting themselves in a great deal of risk for
prosecution for quite a meager. Benefit AND i just want
(05:05):
to encourage us that in any state program to eliminate
the potential for fraud one we would either need to
not operate the program or we would need to staff
the program to such a degree that the cost of
running it would start to get close to the cost
(05:25):
of the benefits being. Provided and so as we think about,
fraud as we think about the technology and the people
involved in combating, fraud we need to look at this
from a bit of AN roi type. Perspective look at
the risk, level have layers of, security fraud, detection fraud
mitigation in. Place but if the goal is, IMPOSSIBILITY i
(05:50):
don't think that that is a realistic idea to. Have
it is our north, star but the cost of achieving
it would be incredibly significant given a risk THAT i
think we need to put in context. Here this is
just a word set there at least no place for so.
Speaker 7 (06:11):
This Jonathan, EICHTIN i don't know who this person Is
minnesota it.
Speaker 8 (06:16):
Services he's a.
Speaker 7 (06:17):
Fool the scenario they laid out was that a group
of like a, family could coordinate via multiple jobs to
all be able to take a vacation by all of
them going and taking this paid family medical leave at
the same. Time and his thought here was, like, well you,
KNOW i would be a conspiracy and, boy they'd be
putting themselves an awful financial. Risk AND i just don't
(06:39):
see that. Happening did you just crawl out from under a?
ROCK i don't want to get too, sarcastic even THOUGH
i could absolutely over his, Comments but did anybody anticipate
that people would be using apartments stating that they were
feeding five thousand kids a day from that apartment while
(07:02):
they COLLECT covid relief funds and feeding our? Future you,
know they were putting themselves at risk as. Well AND
i wonder if perhaps people were questioning whether or not
that money should be doled out underfeeding our, future and
the excuse would have been according to an individual like
this when you compare the scenarios of, well for somebody
to go and say that their apartment was a location
(07:24):
where they were creating all these meals to feed all
of these, kids just to collect THIS covid benefit money
and to take, it pocket it and go and buy
homes or send it To, somalia or to go and purchase,
lavis vacations and. CARS i, mean, boy they would be
putting themselves at an, awful big risk to do. THAT
i just can't imagine that that would. Happen you, know
(07:45):
THERE i went And god All star casting, anyways DIDN'T
i let's go to the iHeartRadio.
Speaker 8 (07:51):
App, wait what you have to SHOW id and verify YOUR?
Id why are they discriminating against minorities like?
Speaker 7 (08:00):

need AN id for. Vote you're suppressing people's ability to
go and.
Speaker 8 (08:09):

Egypt heart of that.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
Comment it sounds like there was born a whole program.
Speaker 12 (10:04):
Checked.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
ABROAD i don't quite know what to do about.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
That tell, me.
Speaker 13 (10:12):
Good, Morning. John the individual who was discussing how stringent
the standards will be for identifying whether you qualify for
family medical leave and the punishments being so harsh.
Speaker 8 (10:24):
And severe is absolutely.
Speaker 13 (10:26):
DELUSIONAL i worked in a warehouse and there were individuals
that conveniently always had their backs go out at the
end Of, may and they got better about the end Of,
august and they had the whole summer. Off now tell
me this isn't gonna happen with this family medical, Leaves.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
John i'm just not quite sure if they think that
we're so, dumb or if they think they're so smart
they don't realize how dumb they.
Speaker 8 (10:52):
Are that's a really good.
Speaker 7 (10:55):
Point let me share with you some more audio from
the hearing that took place. Yesterday Representative rarik asked A
Walls administration official how many caregivers can take paid leave
for the same qualifying individual. Here listen to how the
answer played.
Speaker 12 (11:13):
Out so you were talking about the upper limit of
caregivers that can take leave and go take care of,
someone and on the application there's. Three and you had, said,
well if they had fifty people that, apply that would be.
Rejected AND i appreciate that because you And i've had
that conversation previously in committee WHERE i, said, well what
if fifty people wanted to go take a vacation In
(11:36):
florida and they just filled out all those paperwork and.
Left SO i don't recall that there was an upper
limit in, statute but have you established some sort of
upper limit of how many caregivers can take care of?
SOMEONE i know it's more than, three and it's less than,
fifty as you just. Said so where did we land
in all of, that Mister, rowe?
Speaker 4 (11:56):
Madam, sure thank, YOU i, APPRECIATE i appreciate cate the,
question and maybe just to go back to the just
to go back briefly to the point around you, know
kind of the process checks. RIGHT i think there's a.
Balance there's a balance of program design in terms of making.
Speaker 11 (12:12):
Sure that you, know.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
Ensuring, program combining program into combining program integrity while also
making sure that you've got a realistic approach to program, administration,
right you, know to, again AS i, mentioned, RIGHT i
think we've got over you, know we have a variety
of overlapping. Controls and AGAIN i would NOT i would
not understate the value of the employer role or the
(12:38):
value of of of integrity reports that we get from
from people or you, know from employers or just concerned
citizens around the, country around the state kind of providing
us with that. Information it. Is it is information that
we absolutely act. Upon is information that is tremendously valuable
in terms of providing, uh you, know in terms of
(13:02):
ensuring that the program is going to operate in the
way that that we expected. TO i need to DOUBLE
i just need, TO i need to confirmt just the
exact way of making our administrative, site just to just
to make that answer back to. You BUT i, guess
just from a blog, perspective you know we have program you,
know our program integrity unit is you, know exists to
(13:26):
ensure that we have traps in place when there are
multiple candiggers in.
Speaker 8 (13:29):
PLAYERS i don't know about, you but all THAT i
heard was.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
Wah, wah, wah wah, wah wah wah wah wah wah
wah wah.
Speaker 7 (13:44):
Wah there's no real, Oversight BUT i would not understate
the value of reports we get from employers or concerned.
Citizens does anybody is anybody full, enough foolish enough to,
think just for a second that any individual who is
requesting the amount of time available through paid family medical
(14:05):
leave is not going to be allowed to take that time?
Off does anybody foolishly believe that they are not going
to allow that to. Happen it was designed to make
sure that that doesn't, happen because the moment an employer
goes and does that and SAYS i don't think disqualifies
because the qualifications are.
Speaker 8 (14:22):
So, broad that's never going to happen.
Speaker 7 (14:27):
Because they're going to be too afraid of the lawsuits
and the. Controversy it's going to. Rrupt, oh my big
bad employer isn't allowing me to take time. Off doesn't
say that this, Qualifies BUT i followed all of the.
Speaker 8 (14:38):
Rules, hey good morning, Guys.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
JOHN i literally just got out of a meeting with
my employer above this paid family sickly the guy you
played says that you're going to get fifty percent of
your weekly. Pay we were told to get ninety percent
pay and at the end of the, day my, opinion
this is all about getting people comfortable not working and receiving. Money,
(15:02):
Anyways universal basic, income get ready FOR. AI i do
believe this is the.
Speaker 7 (15:08):
Plan we're actually going to be TALKING ai in just
a moment here On Twin City's News.
Speaker 14 (15:12):
Talk anyone who has studied psychology or, communication you can't
just hear this.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
Guy lying from his team di stuttering doesn't answer my.
Question it's any Basic Unfortunately bat's.
Speaker 7 (15:24):
Government, YEAH i don't know if he's lying or if
he just doesn't understand or doesn't get the gravity of
what it is that they've. Passed here's just one more
And i'm running along. Here we've got a guest coming.
Up in just a moment here On Twin City's News,
Talk Representative Don, Bacon republican out Of, nebraska warning That
(15:46):
china is stepping up at cyber threat, game saying that we're.
Rudderless we're going to be talking to an expert on
how you can actually go and protect yourself from these
UPCOMING ai cyber. Threats but let me share with you
one more clip from this year that took place. Yesterday
Representative anderson asks A Walls administration official if someone who
takes taxpayer funded paid leave can continue working a second, job.
Speaker 15 (16:11):
Uh guidance to healthcare providers TO i guess that's not,
technical but are you providing. That i'm really concerned about
the intermittent. Leave the pregnancy leave is you, know there's
either a baby or, not, Right so it's it's the
medical leaf part and the intermittent and then how do
you how are you going to deal with someone that
has two?
Speaker 4 (16:32):
Employers that's, True Madam, Chair let me try to answer
each question in. Sequence so so medical, LEAVE i GUESS
i would just you, know WHAT i would say is
kind of go back to the, presentation, Right, so you,
know we have That we've been working really closely with healthcare.
Providers just had a just last, week had a really
good session with The Missota Hospital association about just kind
(16:55):
of how this is going to. WORK i, think just
a very very positive and constructive. Discussion we've had really
deep engagement from some of the healthcare, providers you, know
no Fair View Mayo clinic in terms of working to
get the you, know THE, ehr you, know The Electronic
health records, integration which is going to REALLY i think
transform how doctors and other providers are able to provide
(17:17):
some of that information to us and provide and, again
uh simplify administration in that, regard you. Know and that's
ALSO i think where some of THE i C d
ten codes will come. In, well that will be yet
another tool that medical providers are able to. Use as
far as intermittent leave, goes you, know the, rules the rules.
Are you, know the rules are clear that an employee
(17:39):
needs to stick to the intermittent leave, schedule you, know
as they. Are you, know if they take intermittent leave
when they are not you, know when they on a
schedule that they have not kind of submitted and gotten
approved by the, department they are not you, know they
are not eligible to collect intermittent leave benefits during during
for the for those periods and all the GUIDANCE i
(18:00):
would say that we have as a division really tries
to emphasize the need for, constructive collaborative conversations between the
employer and the employee for intermittent leave because that's going
to be the best chance of six that's going to
be the lead to the best outcomes for SUCCESS i
think you asked about multiple employers as, well, right so
we do have you, know we have wage detail records
(18:20):
for you, know for all employees across you, know all you,
know for all employees in the. State you, know we
calculate the benefits based on total. Earnings, Right it's not
you're not you. Know now you choose as an as an,
applicant you're choosing whether you, go whether you take leave
from an individual employer or. Not you can imagine why
(18:42):
you might need to do. That, Right if let's, say
if you have two if you have two part time,
jobs one that you're working On mondays And tuesdays and
one that you're working On, Wednesdays thursdays And, fridays and
you have a chemo appointment Every, monday you might not
need to take leave from The, Wednesday Thursday friday, job
but you might need to take, leave you, know on That,
monday from The monday. Tooesday SO i think the, law you,
know the law and the benefit administration is designed to
(19:04):
reflect those different pieces.
Speaker 7 (19:06):
Together listen the keynote there was again if someone takes
taxpayer funded pay, leave can they continue working a second?
Speaker 8 (19:12):
Job and the answer, was as an.
Speaker 7 (19:14):
Applicant you choose whether you take leave from an individual
employer or.
Speaker 12 (19:18):
Not i'm self, employed But i'm thinking maybe i should
just get a job SO i can unget that job
and have a.
Speaker 8 (19:28):
Cop for amost three. Months you're not.
Speaker 7 (19:32):
Wrong oh my, gosh this is gonna be such a.
Disaster all, right coming, up we do have your talk
back of the. Day how Do americans protect themselves from
an ai world war Between china and THE. Us, yeah
it's coming to. Fruition we actually had a recent a
recent cyber attack From. China so we're gonna be talking
(19:54):
With Chris. Hohorrer he's a disaster response In telcom national
security spokesperson about how you can go and protect. Yourself
we even talked back of the day coming up as well
here On Twin Cities News TALK am eleven thirty one
to three FIVE fm and live on The iHeart radio.
App all, right before we talk to our guest On
Twin Cities News, talk you got to do a couple
(20:16):
of housekeeping things. Here first, off two quick comments talkbacks
brought to you By Lyndahl realty that have rolled into
The iHeart radio app here On Twin Cities News talk
from the sixty's five to One carpet Plus Next day Install,
studios specifically about the last clip that we just played
from The Paid Family Medical leave. Hearing this was the
(20:36):
clip where In Representative anderson had asked A Walls administration
official if someone who takes taxpayer funded paid leave they
can continue working a second. Job their answer, was as an,
applicant you choose whether you take leave.
Speaker 8 (20:49):
From an individual employer or.
Speaker 16 (20:51):
Not oh my, god listening to give, homework it's driving me.
Speaker 11 (21:02):
Crazy he says.
Speaker 16 (21:04):
The, word and then he says the word, again and
then he's making the news sentence with the same. Words
oh my, god a big word selling going on.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Morning.
Speaker 8 (21:18):
Guys this guy sounds like he's just making it up
as he goes. Along and he sounds like that kid
that says you ever have a dream and he just keeps.
Stuttering you got to play that.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
One have you ever had a dreams that that you you?
Speaker 6 (21:34):
Had you you you, could you? Do you want you
you could do so you you do you?
Speaker 16 (21:42):
Could you?
Speaker 8 (21:43):
Want you want him to do you so? Much you
could do. Anything thank you for the.
Speaker 7 (21:48):
Talkbacks we will get to your talk back of the,
day brought to you By minny leaves coming up in
just a. Moment let's, uh let's set things up for
our next. Guests Representative Don, Bacon republican IN a warned
over the weekend that The United states was quickly losing
ground when it came to cyber, security and that Communist
china was stepping up its game equally as, quickly and
(22:12):
it already Replaced russia as the most formidable cyber. Threat
he was ON. Cbs here's what he had to.
Speaker 17 (22:18):
Say you, Also Congresson, bacon run The Cyber. SUBCOMMITTEE i
want to ask you about something significant this past week
THAT ai Firm anthropic said That chinese state sponsored hackers
use their technology to automate break ins and carry out
the first cyber espionage operation largely USING.
Speaker 8 (22:36):
Ai it hit.
Speaker 17 (22:37):
Like thirty different. Companies what can you tell us about
the scope and the targets of this.
Speaker 8 (22:42):
ATTACK i can't say much more than what was just.
Speaker 14 (22:46):
Released other THAN i could say This china has Replaced
russia as the most formidable cyber.
Speaker 8 (22:52):
Threat they have much higher.
Speaker 14 (22:54):
Technology they are USING, ai which gives you a lot
more capability and finding weaknesses in your adversaries cyber. Defenses
what concerns me more than. Anything While china is attacking
us every single day And. Russia we've had no commander
in charge of Cyber command for over eight, months you,
know The White house or The president fired the Cyber
(23:16):
command commander over eight months ago and has not replaced. Him,
also the top two positions at The National Security, agency
the top two are vacant for over eight. Months and
we've been CUTTING, sisa which is the agency that protects
our private, sector our, businesses our, infrastructure and we've cut
by about a, third and so our cyber capabilities are going.
(23:38):
Backwards we don't wear rudderless in a time Where china
is attacking us every, day and that's something that really concerns.
Me And i've been pushing The White house to deal
with this and to confront the cyber.
Speaker 7 (23:50):
Threat you, KNOW i go all the way back With
Don bacon back when he was serving his time in THE.
Rack we used to talk to him on a weekly
basis when we were doing A Rock war updates going
back to two thousand and two thousand and. Eight so
joining us on the show right, Now i'm very pleased
to welcome from the Website sat the numbers one two
THREE sat one two three dot. Com he is a
(24:13):
spokesperson FOR sat one two Three Disaster response And telcom
national security. Expert Chris, hohor thank you so much for
coming on the show this.
Speaker 8 (24:21):
MORNING i greatly appreciate.
Speaker 11 (24:22):
It, yeah great to be. Here many thanks having me.
Speaker 7 (24:25):
On this is the first QUESTION i have for you
is in response to These chinese hackers unleashing this first
AUTONOMOUS ai cyber attack against THESE us. Companies i'm a
little bit surprised that it didn't gain more. ATTENTION i,
mean this has all the makings and markings of an international.
Incident what are your thoughts on what The chinese did
in this particular?
Speaker 8 (24:45):
Attack anything stick out to?
Speaker 11 (24:46):
You, WELL i would say it's a stretch to say
that this was the FIRST ai cyber attack on THE.
Us we are on the constant attack from The, chinese
The North, koreans The, russians The, iranians and many other
interested parties on a basis that is literally minute by.
Minute you, know this has been going on for some,
(25:06):
time AND i would say this is not the beginning
Of World war. Three this Is World war. Three you.
Know it is an awful lot cheaper to attack the
US's infrastructure and data networks than it is to send,
troops BOMs and. Missiles so this is not only the
low hanging, fruit but this is the way of the. Future,
look all of our information is transmitted through data, pipelines
(25:29):
it's stored in data, centers and the compute is done
in the. Cloud so everyone knows where we're doing all
of this and where all this information. Is so attacking
it or stealing, it of course is their number one
number one?
Speaker 8 (25:43):
Goal is the?
Speaker 7 (25:44):
Concern OR i guess maybe perhaps you can tell me
the levels of concern, here BECAUSE i think it's twofold
If i'm not. Mistaken you have the potential of THESE
ai cyber attacks coming from foreign adversaries on the institute
that we use on a daily, basis our, employers for,
Example but there's also a concern on a personal, level,
(26:08):
Correct and sort of where is the level of concern
in your mind between the institutions that we use that
could be under threat and also just the personal threats
that we face on an everyday basis or are they
just are they two intertwined?
Speaker 11 (26:23):
TOGETHER i, MEAN i think it really is. Intertwined. This,
look these guys who seek to destroy. Us they have two,
goals one again to disrupt our operations to the stealer,
information and three to shape the. Narrative and that's just
as concerning to me, because especially with the use OF,
ai the spread of, disinformation narrative, shaping and social media
(26:44):
manipulation in general is the lowest hanging fruit and it
has been going on to some. Time we saw it
back in the twenty twenty election and, before we saw
it in the last, election and we're seeing it every single.
Day you. Know the concern is that the algorithms that
are running platforms it can be manipulated and are manipulated
to try and manipulate us and what we think and
(27:06):
what we will. Accept at the same, time stealing this
information tells these adversaries what we are doing.
Speaker 12 (27:13):
And what we are.
Speaker 11 (27:14):
Thinking are literally on an out do our.
Speaker 7 (27:16):
Basis, again talking With Chris, horror he is a disaster
response And telcom national security spokesperson FOR sat one two.
THREE sat one two three dot com is the. Website
how has we've had cyber attacks for you, know as
long As i've been doing the show for crying Out,
Loud how HAS ai changed the way in which these attacks.
(27:38):
Occur has it sped up the way that the cyber
attacks typically? Occur are they occurring in in different? Ways
AND i guess we'll kind of get to the reason
why we had you on this. Morning what are some
of the first steps that people can do those listening
to go and protect themselves from these?
Speaker 8 (27:54):
Attacks, WELL i mean the.
Speaker 11 (27:57):
Way that it is changing cyber war affair is that
it makes it easier and. Faster you, know software programs
can generate a lot more, inquiries can do a lot more,
scanning can be on the lookout a lot more for
holes in, systems gateways in or problems with the way
networks are set up and exploit. Them, also WHAT ai
(28:18):
can do is create programs that can one get into
a system and to evolve once they're inside the system
depending on what they. Find so it really is quite
entidious and it should be a great concern to. US
i think where this you, know one of the places
this ends up is with the power grade thing, affected because,
look once if you attack the pavrid or the power
(28:40):
grid goes, down everything else is below, that, Right so
that is the ultimate. Domino and we've already seen a
tax on not just the, powrid but water, systems rail,
networks telecom, networks oil and gas. Platforms we've seen the
tax on all of. These they are, often you, know
mitigated fairly. Quickly but we shouldn't presume that that's always
(29:01):
going to be the. Case if we look at what
happened In spain And portugal earlier this, year we saw
the entire Country spain being taken offline without power for
over twenty four, hours you, know and that was devastating
because that means no transactions and no financial, markets no retail,
transactions like. Nothing you can't do anything when there's no power.
Grip and so if that does, happen for whether it's a,
(29:23):
day a, week a month or, longer you need to
be able to have your own. Power it's that one
through three Dot. Com one of the things we do
is offer portable solar power generators so that you can
you could always have access to renewable power on a daily.
Basis and then alongside that we offer FREE sat phones
and free starting units with activation so that you can
(29:45):
keep in. Communication because, look if you leave the house
in the morning without your cell, phone the first thing
you do is turn around and go back and get it.
Right but imagine if you didn't have access to that
for days or, weeks you, know you're going to be
literally dead in the. Water you won't know what's going.
On so sound phones and Satellite internet units like The
starlink units allow you to reconnect to the world no
(30:05):
matter what is. Happening they don't rely on any kind
of ground based.
Speaker 8 (30:08):
INFRASTRUCTURE i, imagine, WELL i.
Speaker 7 (30:11):
WANT i won't put words in your. Mouth i'll ask
you the question. Again talking With Chris, horror he's WITH
U sat one two, THREE uh Dot COM's disaster response
And Telcom National securities folksperson forsat one two.
Speaker 8 (30:22):
Three is it a matter of when not?
Speaker 7 (30:26):
If at this point in your, mind we end up
getting hit with an attack that has a, major you,
know major impact on you, know Everyday americans here in THE.
Speaker 11 (30:35):
US i mean, yes, Absolutely like we we see just
yesterday there was an issue with Cloud, flare and Cloud
flare serves around twenty percent of the total Global, internet
and so percent of the Global internet was kind of,
offline including many of the big lms and as many
other essential. SERVICES a couple of weeks, ago we saw
aws of an outage THE Us east one data center
(30:58):
that took. Out LOOK us supports thirty seven percent or
thirty eight percent of the world's global compute and storage,
market so that we're devastating effects. There and these things
lasted for between hours and the day or just, over
so they're already. Happening you. Know the question is really
when will the first attack come that takes us offline
(31:18):
for multiple days or, Weeks and, unfortunately you, know given
the state of our, preparedness which is pretty, POOR i think,
overall as you were just talking, about it's it's going
to be in the near, future not the far. Few you,
LOOK i hope and pray that this never, happens BUT
i think that's kind of ahead and the sand attitude
right now, well and.
Speaker 7 (31:38):
It sounds LIKE withsat one two three as, well with
the services that you guys. OFFER i mean this even
beyond you, know cyber threats AND. AI i know there's
been a lot of, talk especially with the northern lights
that everybody could see all the way down to to
parts of the country they never. Expected but there's a
lot of concerns with the shifting of the polls here
(31:59):
and what that can end up. Happening if we have
an event like we had just just recently with our
systems going.
Speaker 8 (32:05):
DOWN i imagine was that, one two.
Speaker 7 (32:07):
Three these are also things that people can, do can
go and do to prepare, for you, know sort of
more natural, occurrences natural disasters that may go and bring
our systems.
Speaker 8 (32:16):
Down.
Speaker 11 (32:17):
Correct, Yeah, LOOK i mean we got back to eighteen
fifty nine and The carrington, event which was the most
intense geomagnetic storm ever, recorded that took out things like
the telegraph, network but we didn't have a lot of
other electronics around at the. Time but if we saw
that again, today we could see absolutely devastating. Effects these
(32:37):
solar events can take out all electronic, components you, know
wherever they. Hit and if you think about the consequences of,
that that's, everything, right that's, phones, computers, television's, cars, planes
and on and on and. On and we are not
well prepared for. That our power grid is not well
prepared for. That and, again the domino effects that come
(32:57):
from you, know to be absolutely. Devastating, yeah it's not
just cyber, attacks it's natural disasters that we have to worry,
about you, know even on a local. Level when we
see these devastating hurricanes that come through they take those
hurricanes take out you, know fiber optic networks and cell
towers that we rely on for. Communications SO stat phone
(33:18):
Satellite internet units enable you to stay connected no matter
what's happened to the power, grid the cell, towers or
any other kind of communication.
Speaker 7 (33:25):
NETWORKS sat one two, three that's the, numbers one two,
THREE sat one two.
Speaker 8 (33:29):
Three dot com is the.
Speaker 7 (33:31):
Website one more thing BEFORE i let you go this,

Well, Correct, yeah that's.
Speaker 11 (33:56):
CORRECT i appreciate you. Asking. Yeah, LOOK i think when
it comes to, pets we will our, pets but one
of the best ways you can help pets is to rescue.
One i'll buy. One in my, experience buying a dog
just means the distant to show that one is going
to be killed at a. Shelter so get down to
your local shelter next time you want to get a
pet for your family and find some really great loving
(34:17):
dogs down. There and you know they may not be pure,
breads but often peerbreads have more issues than than mongols
or cross. Breeds so, yeah get down to your local
shelter and save your life. Today AND i appreciate you
asking about, that.

high capacity. Magazines gotta Thank Minnesota Gun Owner's. Caucus they're
(35:46):
preparing a lawsuit if He dina does go and approve this.
Ordinance i'll give you the details of what is entailed in,
this but let's go ahead and go to some audio
before we close out the show.
Speaker 8 (35:56):
Today this is.
Speaker 7 (35:58):
The Adyna City council as The Minnesota Gun owners cock
is posted ON X dumb And dumber Three Gun control.
Edition in under twenty, seconds they managed to confuse automatic,
rifles automatic, weapons and military style, rifles all while trying to.
Speaker 8 (36:13):
Ban and commonly owned a semi automatic.
Speaker 7 (36:17):
Rifle these are people writing local gun, laws and they
really should.
Speaker 5 (36:20):
Not what are considered automatic, rifles but not necessarily all automatic.
Revels because it blows through the wall if it's too,
strong automatic, weapons an automatic.
Speaker 16 (36:30):
Rifle, somebody these automatic weapons ought to be a.
Speaker 5 (36:32):
Banned automatic, rifles the military style automatic, weapon an automatic,
weapon automatic, rifles automatic, revels because it blows through the
wall if it's too.
Speaker 8 (36:43):
Strong the, Council i'm.
Speaker 7 (36:47):
Sorry council read a proposed ordinance for the first time
earlier this week wherein it states there is a public
safety and welfare crisis resulting from gun violence in the.
CITY i, know just the guns just autonomously going around
and shooting everything up in. Sight the city finds a
semi automatic military style assault, weapons ghost, guns large capacity,
(37:09):
magazines binary triggers have not commonly been used for self defense,
purposes but you're saying there's a chance. Yet these firearms
and firearm modifications inherently have a significantly higher capacity for causing, damage,
injury and death compared to ordinary firearms used for lawful self. Defense,
purposes similar to the one that was passed In Saint
(37:31):
paul last. Week both councils say they know it's largely
symbolic because it is since The minnesota state law doesn't
allow cities to enforce their own gun. Laws and, again
The Minnesota Gun Owner's caucus is preparing to SUE hedna
if the ordinance is. Approved democrats have an incredibly twisted
view of what local elected leadership priorities should.
Speaker 8 (37:51):
BE i shouldn't really make.
Speaker 7 (37:53):
That exclusive to local elected leadership and the city councils
coluncils up. Either i'm wondering if they have like a
problem when it comes to like big, trucks because you
know they can cause significant more damage if they get
into an accident as.
Speaker 8 (38:05):
Well thank you so.
Speaker 7 (38:08):
